I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. Hey! He managed to land a couple of hits, awesome! Nil was actually starting to feel a bit proud. Like he could really handle himself in a fight. How did that old saying go? Fake it til you make it? Well that seemed to be working so far. He still had Crowe on the defensive, which meant Beatrix still had time for her personal duel of sorts. However, Nil's trust that Ramza would end up sticking to that plan meant that the behemoth hadn't been paying as much attention to the two. And so when Nil took a small leap back, preparing for another charge at Crowe, the battlemage didn't see Ramza coming in until the swordsman's first slash struck painfully against him. This understandably startled the behemoth who stumbled backwards from the strike momentarily! Augh! Two on one is exactly what Nil DIDN'T want to be on the receiving end of! Panic, panic, panic!...No, wait, don't panic. Think, act! Regaining his footing as Ramza came in for the second strike, Nil quickly reached out with his right hand to grab the slashing blade and wrench it from the knight's grasp. Failing that, at the very least it would block the blow with that same sound of metal grating on metal that everyone 'loved'. Whether the disarming worked or not, Nil would quickly back away from his encroaching opponents. With Ramza's surprise assault, that meant Nil was on the defensive now. He felt backed into a corner and he did not like that. Especially after finally escaping the box that he had called home for so long. His hackles were raised, and beneath the gloved hand that gripped his keyblade his knuckles had gone white. His heart felt like it was rushing at a million miles a second. Nil recalled a feeling like this once before, a 'test' his Master had called it. Stupid robots and their stupid lasers and their stupid explosions. Nil growled quietly under his breath at the thought. No, he didn't need to go that far here, he wouldn't resort to that...yet. This wasn't a live or die test against a dozen or so things programmed to do him harm, it was just a game. Yeah, a game. The behemoth took a deep breath and re-centered himself. Happy fun thoughts, it's just a game! Think of something fun and witty to say! Cut the tension...Ah! "Didn't anyone ever teach you not to corner a wild animal?" Nil said with a smirk before blowing a raspberry at his opponents, oh yeah, that was a cool line. He had to get back on the offensive. Blocking and dodging would only serve to make him tired, that's what they wanted. Kicking off, Nil would rush towards Ramza first, striking the swordsman thrice in an attempt to knock him into the air with a Pop Drop. Regardless of if it hit or not, Nil would use his momentum to leap into the air over the two. While overhead, Nil raised a paw bathed in white light towards Crowe. From the air above her, a trio of beautiful white orbs would descend around her. Faster and faster they would spin and spiral before crashing towards her in an eruption of Holy magic. Landing, Nil would make his attempt to get towards Beatrix, it was obvious at this point that fighting separately wasn't going to cut it. "Well that could have gone better, eheh. Are you okay?" he'd ask his partner once he was by her side. He'd lost track of Beatrix and Ramza duel, so was unsure if the knight had gotten the upper hand. ________________ Action 1: Grab: After feeling the sting of the blade the first time, Nil reaches out with his metal arm and attempts to grab Ramza's sword to wrench it out of the man's grasp, or at the very least block the blow with the delightful sound of metal on metal. Owie. Action 2: Pop Drop: Feeling backed into a corner, Nil resolves to not resort to drastic actions, and instead make an opening by rushing towards Ramza to knock him out of his way with a skyward aimed Pop Drop: A standard three hit combo with the Keyblade. When executed on the ground the last hit knocks enemies into the air. When executed in the air the last hit knocks enemies down to the ground. Deals average Physical damage. Cooldown: 1 Post. Action 3: Holy: While making his attempted escape from the proverbial corner, Nil takes a little hop over his opponents, sending a special delivery to Crowe along the way in the form of Holy: Glowing orbs of white, pearlescent energy spiral around a target before crashing into them, creating a larger orb which explodes into a burst of heavy Light-Elemental Magic damage. Strange new worlds and the war within them. Beatrix really couldn't explain what happened. One moment, she was completely engaged in the fight and was preparing to continue her assault upon Ramza. Then everything has seemingly... frozen. It wasn't the world so much as it was her own body, with her mind suddenly thrust into a pit of mud in which she couldn't pry herself free. She tried to react as her opponent blocked her attack and moved to counter, his sword ringing as it came at her. And yet she was stuck, a mere statue or practice dummy meant to be flayed and beaten. His strikes rang true without deflection or motion, the blade rending its damage upon her body and she couldn't even react. Her mind could comprehend it but it couldn't quite understand it fully.
Ramza struck her again, intelligently taking advantage of her hindrance. He slashed her once more and then moved on, seeing how he could further raise the benefit on his side if he brought a double-sided assault on Nil. It was smart, a strategy that even she would take up if she were in his shoes. But it was almost immediately after he had entered the Behemoth's proximity that Beatrix was pulled from her temporary stasis. Her mind resumed its normal speed, first registering the pain that Ramza had put upon her. Then, for the first time in a long time, the Alexandrian General showed anger. She wasn't sure what had just happened to her but it had been highly inappropriate and and disadvantageous. Was it some spell she had missed cast at her from Ramza or the other woman? It seemed unlikely but still a possibility. No, it was more likely some intended disturbance upon her self that fell in line with similar instances. Her taking from Alexandria, her brief warp to the other town. Someone was intentionally keeping her off balance and wasn't providing a reason for it.
It was frustrating. And as much as she didn't want it to get to her, it had. Her magic surged up inside of her, enhanced by her boiling emotions as she spun on her heel and joined the only yards away. Her spirit energy was already funneling into her sword, the weapon humming and gleaming bright as she came forward. She leapt into the grouping, slamming her sword into the ground and unleashing her attack in its entirety. The Stock Break took the form of slithering, beams of energy that attempted to slam into each of her opponents and rend them of their senses and decent health. With her senses further sharpened and her uproarious feelings burning bright, she thought to take some creative liberties to her following attacks. She'd never truly mixed her spells before but... no time like the present.
Her sword was ignited with lightning magic, crackling loudly and unleashing bolts of the powerful streaks that tore at the ground around her. At the same time, dark ominous clouds surrounded her, as deep and rich as the actual storm clouds that held such electric strength. She swung her blade at Ramza with such force that it sent the clouds around her soaring in the opposite direction, the ominous smog attempting to surround Crowe and leave her in a Blind mess. Her downwards Thunder Slash shook the very air around the four, its arc meant to strike Ramza in his chest and truly shock him with her speed at, once again, evening the odds.
1. Stock Break at Ramza and Crowe 2. Blind at Crowe 3. Thunder Slash at Ramza

Location: Disney Town Mood: Worried Status: Light Injuries Unfortunately, his partner failed to capitalize on Ramza's opening. Much like Beatrix, she seemed unable to act; maybe the injuries she had sustained were more serious than he expected? Regardless, he managed to hit both Beatrix with his thrust and Nil with his initial attack, which was good. As he slashed again, Nil raised his arm, making Ramza worry for a moment - he wanted to win, but not to dismember anyone! However, to the knight's surprise, the behemonth's hand was made of metal, and effectively blocked the blow. Worst, the grabbed Ramza's sword, pulling it away from the knight. A knight without his sword is a man without his pants. He needed to recover it, fast. As Nil prepared to attack him, Ramza Rushed over him, making an leap over the behemonth; landing on the ground, he rolled over and grabbed his sword. He expected to suffer a follow-up from Nil, but it never came. Instead, the behemonth casted a spell against Crowe. Unsure if his partner had already recovered, Ramza felt the need to help her out; using Rock Throw, he hit the three Holy spheres with a rock each, making them explode in the air, rather than in his partner. Unfortunately, the rush to protect Crowe left him open to Beatrix, whose presence he had forgotten - or rather, he had underestimated how fast she would recover. A wave of energy exploded on him, knocking him back. He got up in time to see Beatrix rushing torwards him, blade flickering with thunder. Ramza would be in bad shape if he took that attack, but didn't have time to both evade it and counter. Fortunately, he had the right tool for this job in his arsenal; a move that was both offensive and deffensive. "Chirijiraden!" He screamed as Beatrix was about to collide. The air around him exploded with magic, which would, hopefully, knock Beatrix back when it hit her, both interrupting her attack and dealing some damage if she didn't manage to avoid it - which was hard to imagine with the incredible speed she advanced, but wouldn't surprise Ramza in the slightest; Beatrix had already shown him to be beyond the capabilities of most mortals. Ramza blessed Crowe's support - her defense enhancements over him had mitigated the damage he took. He did his best to protect her, but he knew Beatrix's last attack also went on her direction, and prayed she could do something about it - either evade it or endure it. He could not win this fight alone.

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. Nil's query of how Beatrix fared was answered not with words but action as the swordswoman rushed into the fray once more. To watch her fight was truly awe inspiring and while the sheltered behemoth had very little to go on in the way of combat, it was obvious even to him that it was an art, and Beatrix a master of the craft. She moved with style, grace, finesse, and power. It was so cool! Nil glanced down at his keyblade, maybe she could teach him some things! He wanted to be that cool too! That would have to wait til after the tourney though...For the most part. Nil was trying his hardest to assess everything he could during the fight, stances, swings, everything here was a learning experience for him that could make him a better fighter in the future!...Heh, that's not something he would have ever considered himself this morning. A fighter? It hadn't ever occurred to him. But here he was now, having the time of his life! The abuse from home was finally the furthest thing from his mind. While the battlemage had managed to part Ramza of his sword, it didn't last as long as Nil had hoped. Dodging his strike, the swordsman had zipped past him and reunited with his blade. He fully expected Ramza to come after him once he was rearmed, but instead the knight had opted to...throw some rocks at the Holy spell he had cast on Crowe moment ago? Nil paused in disbelief. That seemed like a terrible idea! The rocks would likely just disintegrate or bounce off the powerful magic like a...uh..like uhm. Like a rock off a bigger rock? Nil shook his head and moved to rush in again himself, though Beatrix was a step ahead of him, her blade crackling with power as she swung towards Ramza. However the knight still had a trick or two up his sleeves that weren't rocks. The air around him erupted with magic and threatened to push Beatrix back and off from her assault. Nil was glad he hadn't caught the brunt of that, but hoped his partner would be quick enough to keep on her toes. Once Ramza's burst of magic had cleared, that's when Nil would finally press forward. He and Beatrix had the advantage once again it seemed and it would be dumb to squander the opportunity. Rushing towards Ramza, Nil hoped to take the same advantage the swordsman had early and catch him off guard, dropping to all fours as he got close he would seek to slam those thick horns into Ramza this time and Heave the young man into the air. "No hard feelings!" Whether this blow would land or not, Nil would opt to retreat out of melee range with a little hop as he gripped his keyblade two handed and landed in a stance echoing that of Beatrix's. Focusing his magic through the blade in a Wave of Mutilation, the paint dripping from his weapon shifted in colour from the fantastical prismatic to a bright white and blue. With an upward swing towards Ramza, a single and rapidly growing orb would rush towards him whether he was falling or fleeing. With a downward swing towards Crowe the colour shifted to a dark smouldering brown and painted a portal in the air from which droves of rocks zipped towards the distracted, and possibly blinded, woman. Nil knew that he'd not have enough energy to pull off a trick like that again, he felt it in the last fight too, like a well running dry. Could he train himself past that he wondered? With one more flick of his wrist towards Crowe, an icy shard of Blizzard would follow not long after the barrage of meteors. ________________ Action 1: Heave: Wanting to press the advantage posed by Ramza's partner being distracted, Nil aims to send the swordsman skyward with a powerful Heave: Charge at the foe, slamming into them with large pointed horns for heavy Physical damage before tossing them up into the air. Often opening the opponent up for aerial combos. Can only be performed on the ground. Cooldown: 2 Posts. Action 2: Wave of Mutilation: Striking a familiar battle pose, Nil continues his assault by attacking both Ramza and Crowe with the homing magic of Wave of Mutilation: Channel magical energies into the keyblade before slashing towards an enemy twice releasing waves of homing magic attacks. This ability acts as a form of Double Cast, allowing two of the same spell, or two different spells to be launched in quick succession. The cooldown of this attack is always 1 less than that of the spell used, but no less than 1 Post. Extremely powerful magics such as Ecliptic Meteor or beneficial magics such as Protect or Shell cannot be channeled in this way. Magics Used: - Targeting Ramza: Ultima: An explosion of ancient magic erupts across the battlefield dealing heavy Non-Elemental Magic damage and ignoring the magical defenses of those unfortunate enough to be struck by it - Targeting Crowe: Meteor: Droves of flaming meteors rain from above, devastating the surrounding landscape and anyone unfortunate enough to be in the vicinity with heavy Non-Elemental Magic damage. Uses: 0/2 Uses Remaining. Action 3: Blizzard: Hoping to get a little bit more damage in after his last spell, Nil targets Crowe with another Blizzard: Rapidly freeze water in the air to create a large chunk of ice before launching it towards an opponent dealing average Ice-Elemental Magic damage. ◄ HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS? A momentary shock as the battle started to heat up, Crowe got up as she saw Ramza dealing with the Holy attack. Seeing the beams from Stock Break, she was quickly struck before finding herself to be blinded as well. This didn't seem to be going too well right now and she decided to then cast the Wall as she stretched out her arms and a barrier was cast over the field. During this time all elemental attacks would be lowered by three tiers and any non-elemental attacks would be lowered by one tier.
Then she felt something hitting into her, despite her blinded state, but the Meteor would be lowered to moderate damage and the flames didn't do anything. Also the spell after, Blizzard, was completely nullified by the Wall.
Deciding while she wasn't able to see it was better to stay in place with the Wall active, Crowe went on to cast both Physical Code and Mental Code. Both would affect both Ramza and herself as both of them would have their attack power and defenses strengthened in both magical and physical capabilities. So Ramza would actually be able to strike with a tier he doesn't have while the Wall is active. Actions 1. Used The Wall to weaken all attacks within the dome (that covers the entire arena), all attacks that are elemental are lowered by three tiers and all attacks that are non-elemental are lowered by one tier. 2. Used Physical Code to enhance the physical attack and defense for Ramza & Crowe. 3. Used Mental Code to enhance the magical attack and defense for Ramza & Crowe. Strange new worlds and the war within them. Nil packed a lot more power than he let on. Beatrix had witnessed first hand the sheer amount of spells and power he possessed in their last match; several of his attacks had packed more power than even she could comprehend. But it seemed he was growing in combat, finding his abilities and his technique as he was thrown into battle. It was an impressive feat, one that she had only seen in certain combatants in her lifetime. Many had said that she possessed that same ability but it was awe-inspiring to see it on the other side. She was glad to have him on her side and not on the opposite... even if a part of her did partly want to challenge him and train him.
But those were thoughts best saved for after the match. The flurry of action and magical power had done its part to clear the angry fog that had rolled into her mind. The other half of it, ironically, came from Ramza. As she came in for her attack, the warrior bellowed out a war cry and with it, came a concussive force that sent her away from him. Its impact was enough to knock the air from her lungs and lift her feet from the ground but Beatrix had handled such matters of strength before. After all, many of the fighters she had gone up against during her training had been much larger than her. As she sailed away, she threw her sword in the direction she spun, expertly angling it so that it slammed into the tiles blade first. Her feet found the handle and provided a source of foundation, serving as a post to land upon. The strength of Ramza's knockback was enough to keep Beatrix moving back, causing her sword to arch backwards as she went. But like a pole-vault master, Beatrix rode the motion until she was on the other end, leaping off and landing on the ground behind her sword. Then she was rushing forward again, snatching her sword up from the tile as she passed it and rejoined the fray.
She came upon Crowe first, who was blinded but still capable of spell casting. Her spiritual energy flowed into her sword as she swung it forward, the Shock slicing through the air and hoping to meet the woman's chest. With it came the power to immobilize her temporarily if it struck, halting her from using as much time as she had prior. From there she darted away, swinging her sword upwards to the sky as she came within Ramza's proximity, hoping to send him stumbling backwards to dodge. But the upwards swing wasn't the attack; it was the swing downwards that carried her strength and power, the pressure of her landing splintering the tile into stony, ashy fragments all around her landing spot. She didn't stop to see if Ramza had suffered the finishing blow of her Climhazard, her arm stretching out towards Nil. Magical energy sprang from her fingertips and wrapped around her and her ally, healing them of their injuries and reinvigorating their strength. With the Cura unleashed, she took another defensive stance, her eye darting between her two foes.
1. Shock at Crowe 2. Climhazard at Ramza 3. Cura at Nil and self

Location: Disney Town Mood: Worried Status: Heavy Injuries Fortunately, Crowe seemed to come back to her senses; unfortunately, Beatrix was also fully back in the fight as well. Worse, the time was running out, and the fight was quite even. He needed to think of something to do. And Crowe went all-out on her supportive magic, empowering Ramza with magic worthy of a batallion of White Mages. For Hearth and Home, Defense Code and The Wall's effects made the young Knight feel almost invincible. Crowe, however, had taken signifficant punishment over the course of the fight; Ramza decided to pay her back by using Chant, sacrificing a portion of his still abundant health to recover Crowe back to a light-injured status. His counteroffensive on Beatrix had been successful, as Chirijiraden knocked her backwards. However, the Beoulve heir was not allowed time to appreciate her graceful recovery; the behemonth rushed towards him, ready to gore the Knight. Unfortunately, there was not much he could do, forced to divide his attention between Nil and Beatrix; once more, he was tossed upwards, the powerful blow dealing minimal damage due to all of Ramza's power-ups. The creature then employed a familiar technique, but in an unfamiliar manner; even in energy-blade form, the aura of Ultima was unmistakable. Ramza was not able to escape it in time, but was pleased to find out that Ultima was not the same devastating technique from his own land. It packed a punch, even under Ramza's enhancements, but not nearly as much as he expected; the Knight ended up being thankful for not attempting to evade it, saving his energy for more important attacks. This did not mean the attack would go unpunished. "This is how it is done! ULTIMA!" He screamed as he landed; a pillar of light formed around Nil, promptly blasting him with the devastating power of Ramza's most powerful technique, dealing Critical damage if it connects. He then turned his attention completely to Beatrix, who was once again advancing towards him. She delivered a quick, not very powerful blow, that knockjed him slightly back, and ascended into the sky. Ramza had seen that technique before, back in Traverse Town. He also remembered that the unfortunate target of the attack was split in half by its might; however, that target was not under Crowe's spells. Ramza gritted his teeth, and prepared to employ the same desperate tactic from the last fight: He would trade his own health for an opportunity to attack. When Beatrix was about to connect, he would unleash his own attack, abandoning defense to take advantage of Crowe's Attack Code and attack and do more damage on an open, defenseless adversary. "Triple Break!" He shouted, delivering three sequential blows, each not that powerful, but mighty in conjunction. Each one also carried a impairing spell, reducing Beatrix's Defense, Strenght and Speed if they made contact. He would then be crushed by the power of Climhazard. The knight would lose no time to get back to his feet, standing proud under his partner's protections.

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. Nil watched as his spells soared towards Crowe, the woman had thrown her arms up, outstretched, and summoned some sort of force field around her and the whole of the arena floor. The meteors seemed to push through with a little effort, but the chunk of ice merely crumbled...That was a neat trick! Sure, it meant that his magic hadn't done nearly as much as he wanted it to, but he couldn't help but be impressed. The behemoth felt simultaneously like a sheep among wolves and a kid in a candy shop. Having only ever read stories of battles in the past, text really didn't do this justice. Sure, a well written book could put you in the moment. Let you feel a fraction of the excitement, a taste of the rush. But nothing compared to actually being here! And that was honestly a little frightening. Nil picked up on things quicker than most, but reading only scratched the surface and learning on the fly like this was proving to be difficult. Keeping track of not only his own positioning, but that of his partners and both enemies was harder than it seemed! It wasn't like back in the labs where the most he had to keep track of were some stationary beakers and burners. He was getting better at his situational awareness, but he was far from a real fighter yet. Case in point came in the form of Ramza's retaliation. So preoccupied with watching the course of his own spells was Nil, that he hadn't noticed the knight readying his own. Nil threw his arms up reflexively as the Ultima erupted around him. Nearly knocking him off his feet with its force...Pain shot though his body and ached him to the core...But somehow it hadn't hurt as much as he had expected. This barrier that Crowe had thrown up seemed to be a double edged sword for her team, and for that he was thankful. Doubly so he was thankful when he felt Beatrix's soothing curative magics flow across him, soothing his aches and renewing his vigor. The fight had become evenly matched once again for the most part now. Both parties had taken some knocks and been on the back foot. It felt like an even playing field again sure, but they all knew that things were coming down to the wire. Nil's eyes flicked between his opponents and his partner. His short time in this tournament had done wonders for the behemoth. He was feeling stronger, more confident, like he actually belonged in these worlds. It was hard to say if it was just the rush of battle and the thrill of their last victory that was working its magic, or if this feeling would last. What wasn't hard to say though was just how much stronger his desire was to win. But he was running out of options. He glanced down at the keyblade in his paw, whatever magical reserves it held had been drained for now, he couldn't rely on its magic for now. He did have another option though...This was a game of sorts, that much was true. And it wasn't do or die either. But didn't he owe it to everyone here to go all out? To really go all out? If they made it to the next round, the fight would only be harder than this, he couldn't hold back. He couldn't be a cornered animal anymore. He'd have to start acting like the hunter, not the hunted. And the hunt was on. Wasting no more time, Nil would rush across the field towards his opponents. An eager smile across his face. "That was really cool Ramza! Maybe someday my magic will be that strong. Or even stronger!" swinging his arm towards the Knight, the battlemage's claws began to glow through the gloves of his robe as he made an effort to leap forward strike Ramza with a Devil Claw. Spinning on his paws, Nil would disengage from Ramza and rush around to Crowe's side. Once in range he would swing his keyblade in quick succession to try and knock the woman up into the air with a well placed Pop Drop. "This has been a lot of fun, I hope we can be friends after the tournament is over!" with his initial assault attempted, Nil would rush back away from melee range and stop in the center of the arena and pause. "I'll be honest. I was afraid to be in these fights at first. But after all this, and seeing how fun it is and how no one's holding anything back. And maybe this just the adrenaline talking but..." Nil let his keyblade vanish from his grasp. His mane began to billow in the wind as magic gathered. This was a gamble. He knew from experience that he'd be practical without magic for the rest of this fight, but there was no going back now. He dug his claws into the ground of the arena floor. "I won't hold back either." Throwing his head back to the sky, Nil let out a surprisingly mighty roar for his small frame. The ground began to shake and the sky over the arena began to cloud and turn a dark red. In the brief moments before you could see it, you could hear it. The loud, earth shaking rumbling from the sky. Piercing the clouds was a gigantic meteor, far large than the ones the behemoth had launched from his keyblade. The rock roared through the sky and descended towards Ramza and Crowe. The Ecliptic Meteor would violently crash into the ground by the two and erupt into an explosion of fire and debris. Still on all fours, Nil panted heavily and stared ahead at the devastation wrought. He hoped it had worked...because after all of that he wasn't sure how much of a fight he could still put up. ________________ Action 1: Devil Claw: Feeling the urge to give his all at last, Nil starts off his assault by striking at Ramza with a Devil Claw: Lash out with blade or claws, dealing average Non-Elemental Physical damage and dispelling any Reflect spell on the target. The explosion from this blast is extremely bright, blinding even those further from the impact, while those struck by the meteor or chucks of it find themselves sickened.
