The day was slowly winding down. The sun had began to hide behind distand buildings, giving the entire area a red and orange glow from the setting star. Chip and Dale had obviously began to grow tired from all the matches throughout the day, their hops were few and far between now.
"Well we're onto the semifinals!"
"Yep, let's get right into it!
"First up is-"
Posting Order: Nil, @crowe, @generalbeatrix, then Ramza Beoulve

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. Nil could hardly believe it...Okay they could kind of believe it, Beatrix was a lot more experienced and probably could have handled it on her own. But more so he was just amazed that he did as well as he had. He'd never really fought before, but everything felt like a second nature to the behemoth. He knew his master always said he was made to pick up on things quick. The rush, the adrenaline. It really was like a high, but now all he hoped for was that Zidane and Vivi were okay...and that the black mage wasn't too sore about being batted around like a cat toy so much. Nil rubbed the back of his neck as he waited for the next match to begin, it wouldn't be long now. Reaching up he moved to adjust his mask...before remembering that it got absolutely demolished in the last face. "Mmf, gonna have to make a new one I guess." at least he had something to look forward to later! He never got to carve much, but when the time allowed for it, it was really relaxing. Maybe he would paint the next one pink. Or maybe another blue one, he didn't have much pink to spare. Colour scheme contemplation would have to wait though as the announcement for the next round finally was called. This was the semi-finals too! Would they be able to go all the way? He had joined this thing on accident, but now he was involved. He had to make Zidane proud after winning against him, he'd have to make Beatrix proud because he didn't want to weigh her down. The behemoth clenched his fists and took a deep breath before stepping out onto the field. He'd have to stay on his toes better this time around. He may not have ever seen Zidane fight, but he knew Zidane a bit, he could pick up on things more readily with him. These new opponents he'd never met before, but they had to be good to make it this far. Never underestimate anyone! When both opponents presented themselves, Nil would smile and wave in greeting. "Hey there! It's nice to meet you both! Best of luck to you both." with Beatrix's arrival and greeting, the behemoth would smile over to her and summon his keyblade to ready himself for battle. Beneath his robe his tail was swishing eagerly, let's hope this would prove to be as fun as the last round was! MADE BY VEL OF GS

◄ HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS? Honestly speaking, Crowe didn't know how she was getting this far. The last match held two very strong opponents whom seemed very familiar with one another. While Ramza and her were more a makeshift team that strategized fairly well. Their strategies thus far had proven to work out really well. So she could see them get to the end of this tournament as things stand.
Keeping track of the score boards, it also appeared that Prompto was moving well onward. The further they were getting, the more likely it appeared that they might face one another in the finals. But right now they were at the semi-finals. And their opponents were a 'Nil' and a 'Beatrix'. Neither familiar names as far as she could tell.
Coming to the stage and looking out at the other end, Crowe noted a robed figure to start with. One who would quickly wave in greeting. Looking over at Ramza to see if he was there as well, "you ready?" she asked somewhat amused. Holding up a hand, she waved a little back to the first figure while she stepped forward. This character summoned an odd key-weapon to his side. She recalled the first two opponents had one who did so as well, after having used two chakrams. Did this mean the figure had multiple weapons as well? She hoped Ramza was prepared for anything, but right now she was placing her focus on this fellow due to the combination of summoning a weapon and wearing robes. It made her feel that they might be dealing with a mage.

Strange new worlds and the war within them. They had come out in victory… but there was no denying that Zidane and Vivi had pushed them to their limits. In a surprising turn of events, it had been Nil that had remained standing on their team and Beatrix left, drained, on her knees. It wasn’t anything against the youthful Behemoth – in fact, it was the highest praise she could give to such a new warrior. He had come into the match with the hesitance of a soldier green to the field and he had left his all, his everything, on the stone slabs of their battleground right along with them. While the Alexandrian General had been sad to see Sora drop out of the tournament, she was more than glad to have someone with such tenacity as Nil.
Zidane and Vivi… they had thrown so much of themselves into that match, proving just how strong they had become since the three had last done battle. It had made Beatrix aware just how rusty she had become – an ironic way of describing it, considering the thief’s nickname for her husband. Both Vivi and Zidane had grown immensely and branched out in their tactics while she had remained the same old warrior as before. There was no doubting that even one small, near immutable change in that match would have resulted in her own defeat. In her mind, all she could do is rain praise down upon her two old allies.
But the time to reminisce would come later, whether she found herself at the top of this tournament or merely grasping at a bronze title. Now she had another match to attend, yet another battle which she must fight alongside the ever reliable Behemoth. She emerged from the medical tent, her gait brisk and professional as ever. Any sign of exhaustion or injury had been washed away by the magic of the healer’s hands, leaving her fresh and ready for battle. But there was a slight difference in her eye this time, the chocolate orb catching the fading rays of the sun to practically glimmer in an amber hue. She stepped up onto the field earnestly, perhaps even eagerly, and walked to Nil’s side.
As she came to a stop, directly horizontal to her partner, she turned enough to look at him. Her soft and friendly smile graced her lips as she met his gaze and gave him a gentle nod. In the short time they had fought together, she had grown to understand just how immensely powerful the Behemoth was. He had great potential – perhaps even more than she had. The officer in her felt nothing but a need to cultivate his abilities and help him become a paragon of earnest compassion, a trait that seemed to seep out of his very aura. He’d already learned so much in such a short amount of time as it was…
In one smooth, swift motion she reached down and wrapped her hand around the handle of Save the Queen. Her weapon of protection, her metaphorical shield against all evil contemplation, slid out of his scabbard with one ringing hum, quickly silenced as she brought it forward and centered it in her gaze and between her opponents. "General Beatrix of the Kingdom of Alexandria. May fortune shine her favor upon you and fight with all your strength,” she greeted them as she had many combatants in years past. Her words were pleasant and friendly but her stance was everything but – the very stature of preparation and combat. She was ready, perhaps more so than she had been in either match before.

Location: Disney Town Mood: Determined Status: Well Truth be told, Ramza did not expect to have reached this far. Being made a punching bag by Tidus and Zest, he was sure the tournament would have ended there for him and his makeshift partner Crowe.
And yet, there they were, standing victorious. Sure, they lost the actual fight - but they lost with style, and their comradery moved the judges and gave them the overall victory. Ramza was very satisfied, even though this meant Alma - the young White Mage he faced in the first round, and which would now be his traveling partner - would have to wait a little longer to continue her journey.
With each battle, he could feel his bond with Crowe deepening, the kind of bond that can only be forged in combat. The kind of bond he used to have with his comnrades at the academy.
With Delita.
When he checked the names of his Round 3 opponents, a creeping chill ran through his spine, a mixture of dread and excitement.
He was going to face Beatrix.
The General had saved him previously, when he arrived, lost and confused, in the world he now knows is called Traverse Town. They fought together against a mass of heartless and won. He learned, then, how mighty of a warrior Beatrix was.
And now he was going to face her.
As he stepped into the arena, he waved hello to Crowe and studied his opponents. Beatrix' partner was a weird... thing. Some sort of bipedal animal, both man and beast. More notably, he conjured a weapon out of thin air, much like Lea had done in the first round. How many tricks did that beast had within his sleeves?
Crowe, too, had already arrived. As she asked him how he was, the knight replied "I'm fine, Milady. How art thou?" He breathed in, trying to contain that excitement that preceded every fight.
And then, finally, Beatrix entered the Arena. She addressed them rather generically - did she not recognize Ramza? "Good to see thou again, Lady Beatrix. 'Tis a honor to cross blades with thee" He said, unseathing his own sword.
To Crowe, he whispered: "I know I've avoided fighting women in the previous rounds, but Lady Beatrix is far from defenseless. She's one of the mightiest warriors I know and, thus, I have no restrictions in engaging her in battle." He didn't want his chivalry dragging Crowe down once again and, frankly, if there was one women who did not need his chivalry in this universe, it was Beatrix. "In fact, I kind of want to take her on... If you're fine with it, of course."
He then readied his blade, shouting "For Ivalice!" and getting ready for the upcoming match, ✿ EDEL ✿

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. With the pleasantries exchanged, the match could finally get underway! Nil never expected to have fun fighting, let alone be eager to rush into a battle like this. All the books he ever read about, fighting was a doom and gloom sort of thing. Where the hero had to struggle against insurmountable darkness to free a kingdom from tyranny where countless others had failed. Something that seemed frightening to be a part of, not something that seemed like a game. Not something that could be fun and bring smiles and cheers to people's lips. Joining up in the tourney may have been an accident, but it was a happy accident now. One that he'd try to learn from. He'd make his friends proud, and while he knew battles weren't all fun and games, there was nothing wrong with enjoying himself was there? The behemoth's golden eyes peered between his two opponents. The blond guy, Ramza, apparently knew Beatrix too. Great! That meant it was even ground right? Beatrix and Ramza knowing each other left Crowe and Nil himself not known either side's team. The best idea then would be like to fight like, right? Meaning if Beatrix would handle Ramza for now at least, Nil could go after Crowe! "Alright! Let's go." One nod to his partner later and the behemoth was off, Keyblade held out at his side while his other arm was added to his gait. This was a chance to really give his new weapon a try. It had already felt natural, like an extension of himself. Which made sense if the notes his ex-master had compiled rang true. He wondered though if this feeling was simply a Keyblade thing, or if all fighters felt that way. Well, as he heard time and again...Time to test that hypothesis! Time to put his best paw forward. Swinging his Keyblade forward to Attack Crowe, Nil hoped to get his chosen opponent on the defensive as soon as possible. Whether the strike landed or was blocked, the behemoth moved in haste to place himself behind the woman to try and quickly slam his thick horns against her in an attempt to Heave her into the air. Should his assault work, the berobed battlemage would leap into the air after to strike at her thrice with his blade, the third aimed to slam her down towards Ramza via a Pop Drop. It worked okay in the last match after all, didn't hurt to try again now! Regardless if his attacks made purchase, Nil would stay at close range for the time being, tense and waiting. Sometimes in books, the first blow made all the difference. Who could say if that would be the case here. ________________ Action 1: Basic Attack: A simple basic attack towards Crowe to start things off Action 2: Heave: It was a pretty fun turn out last time, so Nil's eager to try it again. Following up from his basic attack, Nil targets Crow with Heave: Charge at the foe, slamming into them with large pointed horns for heavy Physical damage before tossing them up into the air. Often opening the opponent up for aerial combos. Can only be performed on the ground. Cooldown: 2 Posts. Action 3: Pop Drop: And if his second action works, well...What goes up, must come down. However in this case thd won part would come in the form of a Pop Drop: A standard three hit combo with the Keyblade. When executed on the ground the last hit knocks enemies into the air. When executed in the air the last hit knocks enemies down to the ground. Deals average Physical damage. Cooldown: 1 Post. MADE BY VEL OF GS

◄ HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS? "I am well," Crowe answered while looking over the fighters that were now all present. Looking at the other opponent, this was a general as she introduced herself. It appeared that Ramza recognized this one. Not only that, the man wanted to take on this General Beatrix on his own. "I don't think that is the wisest decision," the glaive responded, "we could start it separate, but if things go awry, I suggest we turn back to fighting as a team," she continued in a calm manner while readying her dagger and taking on a stance.
It appeared the strange human-behemoth hybrid was coming her way, "I am Crowe Altius, a pleasure," she introduced herself with a smile before leaping back when the creature started an attack. Crowe might be trained in the many aspects of combat, but she had always been of the magic division. Considering her opponent had physical traits much like the behemoths she knew. She wasn't willing to try and perform a strength contest.
Crowe kept moving backwards in hopes to avoid being overtaken, but the sudden charge from the beast was a bit more than she had anticipated as the creature came at her with his horns to heave her into the air. Gathering magic into her free hand, she launched an Aeroga when the behemoth man jumped after her. Using the explosion of wind between the two to send herself flying further away and cancel whatever attacks the behemoth made.
While flipping through the air back to the ground, she quickly used Magic Code to enhance her own magical power before landing and hopping even further away from Nil to create a large distance.. Actions 1. Leapt away from the basic attack. 2. Used Aeroga between Nil and Crowe to send herself flying and hopefully knocking Nil back down from the sky into the ground. 3. Used Magic Code to enhance her own magical power. Active Magic Code on Crowe: 3 posts.

Strange new worlds and the war within them. Beatrix smiled as she caught sight of her old ally, Ramza. He was one of the first people she got the pleasure of meeting once she had been taken from her world. He had proven himself a valuable warrior, one with a quiet modesty. Being able to test his full abilities was exciting, exhilarating even. She gave the man a curt nod. “Likewise, Ramza. And believe me; the honor is all mine.” She swung her blade up in front of herself, giving him a proper warrior's salute.
“If you don't mind, Nil, I would like to engage the young man there,” she nodded to Ramza, even as she turned to look at the Behemoth. With a simple and gentle wink at her ally, she let him know she was ready. Then it was Nil who declared the battle ready to begin, taking point in the charge against their opponents. As he moved, so did she. She swiped her sword through the air, drawing a quick pattern. Light trailed after tip of her blade, illuminating the sigil as she crafted it. Around her ally appeared a cowl of rainbow magic, the Reflect covering Nil fully.
Beatrix's attention immediately turned back to Ramza, her eye glinting with elation. She freed a single hand to wave in Ramza’s direction, her magical energy surging from her palm and towards her opponent. If it managed to catch him by surprise, he would find his connection to his own magical abilities cut off temporarily. She wasted little time in closing their distance, coming upon his proximity in seconds. Her sword scoured the air before her, attempting to hit him back and take him off his foundation. She wanted to put him on the defense, to see how he handled a more human opponent.

Location: Disney Town Mood: Determined Status: Well Ramza felt a bit like a scolded child at Crowe's words, even though they had no ill intent and carried no anger. It hurt mostly because he knew she was right, and he was placing his own enthusiasm in front of the greater good of the team. "Thou art correct, milady. Forget what I said, let's keep up our teamwork. I'm thine to command!"
Beatrix, however, echoed Ramza's sentiment, and the choice was made for them, as Nil started moving torwards Crowe. Ramza decided that, for now, splitting and fighting separately would be a good idea - especially because he knew how ferocious of a fighter Beatrix could be. It might be strategically reasonable to draw her attention and hold her at bay, giving more space for Crowe to act. However, he would not indulge selfishly; he would keep an eye on his companion, and aid as possible. Beatrix cast something in her ally, and Ramza took that chance do do the same, casting Tailwind on Crowe while the enemies where on the move. Before he could do that on himself, however, Beatrix moved again, and Ramza noticed his magic was not coming out. He was familiar with that state - Silence was a technique used by Oracles in Ivalice, which was a offshoot of the White Magicks. Ramza had learned in Traverse Town that Beatrix was some sort of warrior/mage hybrid, much like Agrias; however, only once had Ramza seen a warrior capable of casting Silence (or something similar to it): Bewoulf, an old companion from his travels. Beatrix was like a mixture of the most fearsome warriors Ramza had ever found. Not only that, but she casted something on her beast partner. Ramza recognized that aura - it was Reflect, a Time Magick from Ivalice. Was Beatrix also trained in Black Magick? One could only access Time Magicks after dwelling in the Black Arts... or did things work differently on her land? Instinctively, Ramza tried to warn Crowe, and failed - words would not form. "Silence" is not a figure of speech - it robs magical power by limiting the vocal component of spells. Cursing silently, Ramza could only brace himself as the adversaries advanced against them, praying Crowe - which was a mage - would recognize the aura before trying to attack Nil with spells. With overwhelming speed, Beatrix was already upon him, much like Nil, who attacked Crowe. Gritting his teeth, the knight raised his own blade, intercepting Beatrix's strike; fortunately, Ramza, too, was adept with swordfighting. Up close, Ramza could not avoid to notice Beatrix's weapon was no ordinary blade. It was ornated, beautiful, a symbol os status that contrasted almost comically with Ramza's own simple sword. While born a noble, Ramza had been stripped off his titles, his riches and, ultimately, of his friends. The Beoulve name carried no weight in this new universe, and his weapon reflected that. And yet, he had his pride, his girth and his skill. He pushed the blade back, pirouetted in his own axis, and counterattacked with a quick three-strike combo, trying to keep Beatrix occupied.
TAILWIND ON CROWE: 3 MORE TURNS
SILENCE ON RAMZA: 1 MORE TURN
SUMMARY Ramza casted Tailwind on Crowe, increasing her speed (ACTION 1). He then protected himself from Beatrix's attack (ACTION 2) and countered in kind, with a three-strike combo (ACTION 3) (Three-strikes merely aesthethically - in game terms, it is just a normal sword attack) @generalbeatrix Nil @crowe ✿ EDEL ✿

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. As Nil had rushed in to start the fight, Beatrix had quickly followed suit, wrapping him in a magical barrier. He recognized it from the last match, but hadn't gotten the chance to see what it actually had done. Maybe this time he'd get that opportunity. "Nice to meet you, Miss Crowe! I'm Nil. Sorry for not introducing myself earlier. I'm still learning the...is it rules of engagement? I think that's the right term." he replied as his opponent expertly dodged his first blow. She was quick it seemed, not as quick as Zidane maybe, but fast none the less. When she leapt away from his first attack, Nil had followed, hoping to at least continue the rest of his assault, but Crowe ended up being more prepared than that and launched a vicious ball of wind straight for him. Instinctively he brought his arms up to try and at least mitigate the pain that the spell would cause. But when the spell should have landed, Nil thought, nothing came. Peeking an eye open just in time to see, the behemoth watched as the Aeroga bounced off the magic Beatrix had moments before placed on him, and Reflected it back towards Crowe instead. 'Ooooh, so that's what that does!' Nil thought as he came back down to earth, landing on his paws with only a little bit of a stumble. The behemoth had to think quickly, the magic protecting him wouldn't last forever nor would Crowe stay on the defensive the whole time. So far things pointed to her being a mage of sorts much like Vivi, however unlike Vivi it seemed that she was experienced at dodging blows...Then again poor Vivi was a little short, stubby legs probably didn't help anything, did it? The same kinds of tricks he was able to pull off against the little black mage wouldn't work as easily here. Nil really wished he had borrowed Zidane's daggers now, instead of leaving them in the medical tent for the unconscious rogue. Hindsight is twenty-twenty...whatever that means. Nil cast a glance over towards Beatrix and Ramza as they fought, both of them clearly adept at battle. It reminded him again just how much of an odd man out he was in these fights. How much more he would have to push himself to stand toe to toe with Generals and Knights and Mages. His eyes darted to the keyblade in his paw and he clenched it tighter... The chromatic ink that seemed to drip endlessly from the tip of his keyblade shifted to an icy blue and with two quick swings of the blade, a Wave of Mutilation was cast, sending a pair of icy chunks to home in on Crowe. One attack might be easy to dodge, but how would she do at dodging three, Nil wondered as he rushed ahead to attempt to close the gap between them once more. It was obvious that the young behemoth was green. Raw and unpolished talent that, while clearly a quick learner, still had a ways to go. He'd not let that slow him down though. As Nil reached Crowe, he would try and swing upward with a Basic Attack from his Keyblade, before following it up with a swift swipe of a Devil Claw from his right arm. If anything Nil hoped to keep Crow occupied while Beatrix handled Ramza, possibly bringing the fight to a two on one brawl again. He just hoped that neither of them would end up being the 'one'. ________________ Action 1: Wave of Mutilation: Since melee alone didn't seem to do the trick, Nil opts to launch a twin Blizzard attack towards Crowe with Wave of Mutilation: Channel magical energies into the keyblade before slashing towards an enemy twice releasing waves of homing magic attacks. This ability acts as a form of Double Cast, allowing two of the same spell, or two different spells to be launched in quick succession. The cooldown of this attack is always 1 less than that of the spell used, but no less than 1 Post. Extremely powerful magics such as Ecliptic Meteor or beneficial magics such as Protect or Shell cannot be channeled in this way. Magic Used: Blizzard: Average Ice-Elemental Magic damage. x2 Uses: 1/2 Uses Remaining Cooldown: 1 Post Action 2: Basic Attack: With the magic homing in on Crowe, Nil hopes to make it a difficult choice what to dodge, and swings at the woman with a simple keyblade attack. Action 3: Devil Claw: Following up the basic attack, Nil hopes to swing downward with his claws to try and land a Devil Claw: Lash out with blade or claws, dealing average Non-Elemental Physical damage and dispelling any Reflect spell on the target. Cooldown: 2 Posts. Buffs: Reflect: 2 Posts Remaining Cooldowns: Heave: 1 Post Remaining Pop Drop: 0 Posts Remaining, Available Next Post! MADE BY VEL OF GS

◄ HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS? While the female knight agreed to take on Ramza, she still did enchant something onto Nil as the battle started. Ramza came to rethink his plan on just having two separate fights as he agreed with her. Still, with Nil coming at her, Crowe tried to keep on her toes albeit she was sped up by Ramza. The attack she threw didn't do much, the explosion aided her in her escape, but not do any damage upon the odd behemoth-man.
Checking on Ramza, he seemed to be affected by something. As her opponent, Nil, started to launch his attacks, Crowe gave out a call: "For Hearth and Home!" before placing her arms before her to take the hits from the Blizzard attack while her feet again leapt back. Using Defensive Code upon herself with the man coming towards her, she simply kept the enhancements going for now as she focused an Attack Code onto Ramza while getting hit by the basic attack and its follow up.
Figuring they still had enough healing on their hands, Crowe opted to simply start taking damage while she could still buff both Ramza and herself. The hits from the behemoth were weakened by the Defensive Code and she hoped her chant and code would aid Ramza as well. Actions 1. Location: Disney Town Mood: Determined Status: Well He smiles with surprised satisfaction as his blade made contact; he did not expect to actually come out ahead in the exchange of blows, at least not with a normal strike. Something had slipped in the general's attention, and Ramza wondered why - but he was not going to let this opportunity pass by. He immediately attacked again, a quick thrust to try to push Beatrix away, powered-up by Crowe's recent magic. From the corner of his eye, he saw that his partner was in trouble. Selfless like aways, Crowe focused in powering-up Ramza himself, at the cost of her own blood. She seemed fine from the attacks, both her recoiled magic and Nil's own efforts; it was a strategic choice, and Ramza was going to capitalize it. Beatrix didn't act, and Ramza was going to use that chance to control the pace of the battle. As soon as he attacked, he disengaged from Beatrix and hurried towards Nil, thanking the gods that Beatrix had such a poor strategic decision regarding her use of Silence - Ramza was a majorly physical fighter, contrary to Crowe, and was much less impaired by the status than his partner would be. Even under Silence, he was a sizeable threat, and Nil was about to find it out firsthand. He pivoted against the beast as it landed from his previous attack. The Knight glanced quickly at Crowe, cursing his lack of speech, as it made coordination harder. However, he and Crowe had forged a connection on these battles, and he prayed that would be enough. Because his glance had a message: Attack! Hopefully, together, they could overpower Nil and do some sizeable damage, or at least keep him pinned down without being able to fight back. That would be a bit hard because of his Silence and Nil's reflect (Ramza hoped Crowe would have realized that magic would be unneffective for now after having her own Aeroga bounced back), but maybe both could do reasonable damage by attacking regularly together, especially with Ramza powered up by Crowe's Attack Code. As soon as he reached the beast, Ramza attacked, one powerful slash, then the other; if Nil tried to flee or reposition himself, Ramza would make sure to follow him closely between each attack, in order to force the beast to actually protect itself from both attacks, or take them head-on.
TAILWIND ON CROWE: 2 MORE TURNS
SUMMARY Ramza attacked Beatrix once again (ACTION 1). Then, he pivoted over to Nil and attacked twice (ACTION 2 and ACTION 3). @generalbeatrix Nil @crowe ✿ EDEL ✿
