Typical Site Functions
I missed the Activity Check. Can I get my characters back?
If you rejoin the site with the same usernames within a month of your removal, we will still have your profile and you will not need to reapply for the character. We will do our best to re-add all your munny and posts counts, as well. If you re-join after a month, there's a lower chance to getting your profile and munny back.
If another member has already applied for the character you played and has been accepted, you cannot have the character back.
When is the next site event?
Normally, we try to have an event once a month on the forum. We host events for Holidays. I've listed a generic template of events we try to follow below.January - Tournament
February - Valentine's Day
March - Tournament
April - Easter
May-August - Tournament
September - MM's Birthday
October - Halloween
November - Tournament
December - Christmas/New Years
Are all Square Enix characters canon characters?
Not here. The only Square Enix characters we accept as canons are those that appear in the games. These are Final Fantasy characters and The World Ends With You. They have not introduced other Square characters as of yet. All the worlds are based off Disney, so almost all Disney characters are accepted as canons. However, they have only introduced FF and TWEWY characters from Square Eniq. We only allow Disney, FF, and TWEWY characters on the site as canons. You may alter other Square Characters as OC's, but they are not canon here, sorry.
Can I apply for Star Wars? They've been bought out by disney! What about Pixar?
Not here. There are currently no Star Wars characters in Kingdom Hearts. If that changes, we will make the changes accordingly. As for Pixar, we will play that by ear. As of right now, they have only hinted at introducing Toy Story, so those will be accepted without question. Pixar that can easily be adapted for the Kingdom Hearts universe may be applied for. But, if you have doubts if the character will be accepted as canon, ask a staff member!
Do I need to have Staff approval for my character plot?
No, you do not. Unless your plot will affect a large portion of the site, you can go about your roleplay as you'd like. The staff doesn't really mind what happens in normal threads. We prefer you keep to the canon and stay as in character as you can. We will only get involved if your plot is site affecting.
How do I earn munny?
You can earn munny many ways. Munny is awarded for reviewing Mirage Arena activities as well as participating in them. You can read all the details here. You automatically earn 2 munny for every roleplay post you make on the site. You also earn munny by completing and closing thread when you're finished with them!
How do I complete and close a thread?
To do this, you must place, in bold -Exit Thread- at the bottom of your post. When everyone exits the thread, the last person in the thread should post, in bold, -End Thread-. The last person to reply to the thread must pm a staff member that the topic has ended and the staff member will lock and move your thread(s) to the Completed Thread Archive.
Closing a thread will give members in the thread 30 munny for finishing it. If you go over 20 total posts in the thread, you will be awarded 20 additional munny.
What happens if there is a canon character I want to apply for that someone else also wants!?
Any reservations posted on or listed on the Character List prevents anyone from applying for the same character that you are. If you reserve a character and do not post an application for that character on the board before the time period ends, you are unable to reserve or apply for the character for one week (7 days). After that time period ends and if the character is still available, you may apply for the character again.
In the event that two members are applying for the same un-reserved character, there will be an character battle. You may not reserve the character on the Character List if another member has taken interest in the same one and wishes to challenge you for the character. In this situation, both roleplayers will be sent a private message from a staff member with a scenario. The feuding members then must write up an in-character roleplay Sample of any length and send it privately back to the Staff that sent it to them. You will have 5 days to submit a response to the roleplay scenario.
Once both are received, staff will start an public blind vote to determine the best sample. This will be completely anonymous. If either roleplayer is found to have mentioned which sample is there's to anyone, they will be disqualified and the other member will be able to post up their application. This is to prevent cheating and favoritism.
When voting is complete, the winner will be able to apply for the character. If the application is not completed for review within seven days, the member is unable to re-apply for that character for a week and the other member that had challenged will be able to apply. This is to help prevent inactivity and character hogging.
This new rule also applies to everyone posting up Work In Progress applications. If you take longer than 7 days to complete an application and it gets messaged back to you, you must wait the week before you can repost your application. This will give others the chance to apply for the character if they wanted it. If someone else does post an application, you must wait till their's goes in active to post yours up again. Otherwise, if they are approved, you will not be able to reapply until the character becomes available again.
Reservations on the character sheet will now only last 14 days. You may request one reservation extension of 3 days once per reservation. When a reservation ends, you may not reserve that character for 7 days.
Character/World Altering
Can I reserve a character? If so, how?
You are permitted to reserve a character by posting in the Character List with the Reservation Form. The character is then reserved on the character list for two weeks. By reserving a character, the character is off-limits during the application process unless the profile was never complete and/or the reservation expired. This is why we advise new members to view the canon list first to avoid any issues.
If I want my character to die, can they come back as part of the planet they died on?
Each world has it's own unique heart, just as people all have their own unique heart. Each person originally born on that planet, even if they move to another planet, will be forever tied to their home world and their hearts will return to that planet.Example - Aerith and Zack return to the lifestream because they are part of Gaia. The same example goes for Kuja for his new home world of Gaia IX. People from Spira are the only ones that can come back as Unsent and composed of pyreflies, as seen by Auron in Olympus Coliseum. The only exception is when a character accepts a new world as their home, canonly, and only they can be returned to the world.Example - Kairi returning back to Destiny Islands instead of Radiant Garden when the worlds were restored.
Can I learn powers/magic from another world?
Characters can only learn moves/abilities from their home world due to the world's heart.Example - Jenova cells would not be compatible with Heartless. The Goddess Etro would not be able to gift people with powers if they are not from Pulse. The Emperor would not be able to place a magical seal on the Cornerstone permanently to magically drain it.Unique powers/abilities learned from a home world wouldn't be compatible with a character from another home world, unless the magic was a universal Final Fantasy magic.Example - Universal - [Blizzard, Cura, Ultima, etc]A character from one world can teach another character magic through sidequests and staff approval.Example - Merlin teaching Sora Fire.
The only other exception to this rule is keyblader abilities. These abilities are able to override all other abilities that character has learned from that point onwards as keyblades are the dominating power, like a job class, except for universal FF magic.Example: If your character came from the FFXII world, then all spells and abilities (except for universal FF magic) would be forgotten and replaced with unique keyblader abilities. (Strike Raid, Ragnarok, Magic Hour) - [More details in "Keyblades" section below]
Why can't my character use FF7 Materia? It's universal magic anyway. What makes FF7's Fire any different than FF8's fire?
The inhabitants of each world learn to use magic differently. In FF6 and FF7, the inhabitants are not born with the magicexcept for a special band of humans in FF6 called the Magi. Kefka and Terra are special cases.
So, FF7 characters can't learn fire like Kefka or the Magi because they don't have the ability to do so. They weren't born there to have that trait.
So, going along with what I just said, it is probable that Materia will not react to a character not from Gaia. It can be said that the only people that may use Materia are the ones directly connect to the Lifestream and Gaia. So anyone not having any connection to the Lifestream would simply end up holding a colorful piece of crystal.
Someone can't simply go to the FF7 world and take Fire Materia with you. Materia, in it's simplest form, is crystallized Mako from the Lifestream. The Ancients recorded their knowledge into the Materia (such as the summons) and left them behind when Jenova wiped them out. As seen in FF:AC, Kadaj was able to push the Bahamut Materia into his arm easily to use it along with Loz and Yazoo, suggesting the people living on the FF7 world are able to use the Materia easily the same way because their bodies are made from the same energy as the Materia.
Can I become a Heartless or a Nobody?
A Princess/Pure of Heart of Heart and Nobody characters cannot become Heartless, for obvious reasons.Example: The Princesses of Heart cannot become Heartless because of the absence of Darkness in their Hearts.Any other character can become a Heartless and/or a Nobody. However, it is much like gaining a keyblade. You should PM an admin with your reason and/or plot to become one. This way, the staff can make sure it is logical and is cleared by game canon. The admin will only accept this drastic change to your character if there is a good reason for your character's subplot, not just for the fun of turning into a Nobody/Heartless.
The admin reserves the right to decline any ideas that may not be suitable for the character or the theme of the site. However, we will try to compromise and find a suitable mid-ground. If accepted you may choose to become either a Heartless or Nobody, and how long your character is changed. It may only be a temporary change that will happen once.
Can I play a Organization member like Demyx and Larxene?
Yes, but due to events in KH:DDD the Organization XIII has been disbanded. It is up to you to decide the character's fate as well as their existence here on the site. Because of the disbandment, we will make accommodations when placing your character into the different groups.
ExampIe. Dilan, Even, and Ienzo can be enlisted as civilians.
Can I make an Original Organization Member?
Firstly, the Organization XIII is disbanded. Even if they were present, you'd have to arrange that in character. If you'd like to make a group of your own, you'd need to go through proper processing here of creating your own group and plotting board.
Keyblades
Can my character have a Keyblade?
Any character on the site may have the chance to gain a keyblade. However, Final Fantasy and Disney characters are not as likely to be approved for a keyblade. This means that you will need to have a very convincing story/plot to explain your reasoning for a keyblade, especially if your character already has an existing weapon.
Completely original characters may also apply for a keyblade if approved by the staff and if they have a believable reason to have a keyblade. This reason should be thoroughly explained in the character's history.
Mirage Arena
What counts as an action in those kind of threads?
Special CasesSummons - Summoning it does not count as an action. However, every action that the summon makes counts as one of your two actions. Also depends on the Final Fantasy the summon is from how it would react.ExamplesHeartless/Nobodies/Minions - Best way to handle, one action per species. Counts as an ability.
FF7 would be a one time summon/attack/dismiss cost.
FF8 - No cost to summon, but the attack would count the next post.
FFX+ - No summon cost but then each ability use counts as an action since they stay out.ExampleChained Attacks - Only count as the same attack if the character is not given a choice to chain it. If it's a canon chain, it is one ability. If it is a non-canon chain, then it would not count as one ability.
All the Fat Bodies doing a Body Slam, some Shadows diving into the floor, etc.So let's say Golbez has his Float A > Cosmic Ray A. Since they're not separate attacks, they count as one action. Especially since you can not use Cosmic Ray A without doing Float A first.Drive Forms/Ex-Burst/Paradigm Shift - Does not count as an action. You are simply changing to a different set of abilities. As for drive forms, you are giving up one stat for power up another.
If you break the rules, the punishments are as follows:First Offense - correction of the post.
Second Offense - if the offender is still at fault, the reward will be banned at the end of the Raid or Plot thread. [The Raid will still continue so the flow is not disrupted.]
Final Offense - the member will be banned from raids, with all characters, until allowed again by staff.
