Ramza kept wrestling with Lea, doing his best to keep the man down. The knight had the upperhand, his hypothesis of Lea's lack of expertise in melee combat proven. The redheaded managed to sneak a punch during the tussle, but it did little to faze the Beoulve heir.
Right as Ramza was about to do something with his winning position, however, many things happened. The Wall seemed to disappear, the linchpin of protection that he was counting on. Before he could think of something to do, Alma struck him from behind, and he felt his back tore open as the magic-infused blade hit him squarely in the back. Fortunately for Ramza, this also meant Alma would probably be left exposed to Crowe's dual magic and subsequent stabbing - although the Knight had no idea this was going on.
And, on the next instant, Lea exploded, both figuratively and literally. Ramza's eyes widened open. His instincts took the better of him, overriding his reason in that instant of confusion. He could have tried to Rush to safety - something that would likely fail, but at least alleviate the damage. However, the powerful burst of fire would hit Alma head-on. His confused brain reasoned that Alma was behind him, and Alma must be protected at all costs, forgetting the small detail of it being the wrong Alma. He turned around in an instant and hunched over, extending his arms to the side, absorbing the entirety of the explosion into himself, protecting Alma from the potential friendly fire of Lea's point-blank explosion. This would also protect Crowe, who was (possibly, depending how the actions went down) right behind Alma, although Ramza wasn't aware of that.
When the attack ended, Ramza stared at Alma, seeing more and more of his sister in her. He smiled satisfied when he realized she was unharmed - at least from Lea's attack. The stupidity of his act finally hit him in full, but he regretted nothing; he would not have consciously put someone so defenseless in the way of such a destructive attack anyways, no mather if they looked like his sister or not.
However, his relief was substituted by rage; Lea attacked with no regard for the safety of his partner, and almost put her in enormous danger. Ramza had respected the man as a fighter, but was now convinced Lea was dangerous and unstable.
Using the last of his strenght, he turned towards him again. Alma would have an opportunity to attack him (provided she survived Crowe's attack still conscious, and was truly willing to go this far to win), but that was irrelevant - he knew he was going to pass out soon, with or without further damage.
"Thour arth a bastard... This attack could have greatly harmed Lady Alma!" Ramza rasped, using his sword for support to remain standing. "I shall strike thee down, wicked, irresponsible man!" Ramza raised his palm to the sky, summoning his last resort. "ULTIMA!"
The air flickered around the redheaded man for just an instant, before a devastating pillar of light descended from the sky, blasting the man; it was Ramza's most powerful attack, the most powerful spell known in Ivalice, which only the most powerful mages had access - or those who had ventured truly deeply into the arts of the Squire. If it hit the target, the damage would be titanic.
Unfortunately, Ramza himself didn't see the outcome; as soon as the spell was cast, his energy faded, and the blonde knight fell forward, hitting the ground with a thud.
Tailwind on Crowe: 2 More Turns
Ultima Cooldown: 5 More Turns
Summary: Ramza took Alma's attack. Then, he protected Alma (and Crowe) from Lea's Explosion (Action 1). Enraged, he used Ultima against Lea (Action 2).
