I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly. I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. How long had this ship been traveling? The berobed behemoth was curled, cramped and cloistered within a crate containing cloth; textiles taking their trip to the territories untold. His flight for freedom found him stowing surreptitiously into the shipment and now wistfully he waited, wondering where he would wander. Hours and hours of huddling in hiding however leaves one horribly...cramped. Surely soon the ship would sail safely to shore. Hustle bustled around the huddled behemoth's hidden base. Muffled voices of multiple vernaculars barking orders that barely pierced the planks that permitted him privacy, orders and replies from the captain and crew. Nervous, Nil nary let slip a silent sigh of breath! What little light leaked from between the lumber left the lad little leeway in looking at what was going on beyond. Time passed as people packing parcels plodded periodically from the cargo hold. Box after box was carried carefully by calloused hands of the capable crew. Anticipation anchored in Nil, anxiously awaiting abdication from the aft. When at last the labourers lifted the crate containing the concealed creature, a dutiful deckhand declared disdainfully, "This thing's at least ten times the weight it was when we got it! What gives?""You're imagining things. Now quite gripping and get liftin." Remarked his ruefully restless partner. Evidently, evicting effects from the ship was a truly tiresome trial. Of course, the great gusto with which the group quite quickly quelled their complaints spoke volumes to the dedication they truly had to their work. When the laboriously loaded box was lifted, the behemoth braced himself for any bumps or bruises that might come from being bounded around inside the box. Luckily for him the ride was rather relaxing, gently rocking rather than riotous rousting. "Ugh, no okay, sit it down over there, let's get some help carrying this thing before I break my back." one of the duo spoke. With a thump, the box was delicately deposited down. Perhaps this was the perfect moment to peek out, preview the place where fate saw fit to put him. Cautiously Nil cracked open the crate's crown. The coast was clear! Quickly he jumped from the jumbled fabric and absconded down an adjacent alleyway. Just in time too, it was becoming increasingly inhospitable in there. Being kept cramped like that can cause many a kink and little zeal, thanks to zero zeds. A sleepless shipment to be sure. Ambling aimlessly through the alley, vexation paid visitation upon the vagabond. Nil expected, perhaps erroneously, that every estate would resemble his former home but this wasn't the case. Some opulent some ordinary, some even overly ostentatious one might observe. Yawning, the youth yearned for a place to put his paws up and unwind from the ultimately unjust revelations about his master. Nil had hopes this town was xenodochial, lest his xenization be left lacking. A shake of his head. Enough of that. Worrying about what was could wait til later, no? Nil looked down at his soaked robe and sighed. Luckily the rain hadn't followed here...Wherever here was. Adjusting the mask that kept his features obscured better than the hood alone, the disguised behemoth made his way from the alley and deeper into the town that laid before him. It was vastly different from the home he knew, but already he felt safer. But was this really far enough? Was anywhere far enough from what he left behind?...Was there any food nearby? Because good golly was he hungry. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Traverse Town always found itself with visitors from far and wide. The Hamlet was a place between worlds, a point where many lost souls had found themselves Zidane was a regular, it seemed. Traverse Town had become a skipping stone to the greater scape of the worlds beyond as Invincible seemed to meander on the border waiting. For what, Zidane couldn't tell. The ship had a mind of its own, creepy considering. He had pondered asking while at the helm, but he was afraid he would earn himself a rather untoward answer, or an answer at all! It was always night here. Perhaps a somber reminder that this was but a shadow of many worlds despaired by loss. They were stars that would never return. It was something Zidane did not to take for granted. He wouldn't forget his home, nor would he stop at anything to keep it safe. But he was here. There was a reason. What that reason was… well it was a mystery to him! As he passed along he saw familiar faces,l along the cobblestone streets of the home away from home. It was a town that everyone knew, or at least knew stories of. A friendly little Hamlet on the outskirts of a major city. A few shops and places to eat with honest businesses raised from necessity rather than greed. The young woman at the cafe had an honest impatience with the rogue . She often waited the tables and made sure the candles remained lit, despite some of the shenanigans of local children always blowing them out for a laugh. To be fair it was a sight that could give one a bit of a giggle as the maid pulled up the excesses of her skirt and hurried after the fleeing brats. It reminded Zidane of when he was younger. They'd cause a helluva lot of trouble around town: knocking over signs and changing the names of the actors in the Theater District to read immature names like A. Nell Retentive from Nell Renten, or Anita Hoare from Anita Hare. They were great days! The Moogles in the Weapon's Shop found the tailed rouge's antics very mooglesque in their nature! Almost deserving of a pom pom and honorary wings! The pink and white sprites of impish nature revelled in munny, kupo nuts, and pranks. Zidane could almost agree except replacing kupo nuts with beer and pranks with women and you had yourself a day to remember. Now loyal as he was to Dagger there was no harm in looking . . . while she was away. He was sure a sharp glare from the maiden would send you right to the dog house. In a flash. Ramuh’s flash. There were several others that made up the local space of Traverse Town. The world was a nostalgic recollection full of life and, though it may seem small: was a great scape of walls and buildings separated to accommodate the great walks of life. With Five Districts there was plenty for a person to find and entertain himself. A perpetual darkness made the town one of lights, fending off the darkness which brought terror to locals for in the shadows hid the very beasts that were responsible for their lost homes. Zidane had stopped in front of one of the shops. The thought of Dagger had given him pause. Maybe a souvenir from this world would abate the anger that collected from her worries would be a good idea? He gave a shrug and turned from the shop, making you way along. It wasn't until he made a sharp turn and hit a wall! But it wasn't until his face met muscle and his body lurched back did he realize it was a person. Catching himself with a curl of his tail and shift of his weight the thief slid back, arms flailing as he regained his balance. “ Oh! Man sorry about that!” The their apologized with a laugh. He looked over the figure and chuckled. “ You look robbed a tailor blind with that robe.” A joke on his part. “ Pretty stealthy too, didn't even see you!” Of course it was because he tried to dash off without thinking. . I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. Oh now wasn't this just a fine mess? Nil hadn't been out of that shipping box for more than ten minutes and he was already bumbling and bumping into someone. Stupid, stupid. He entirely expected a tirade, a thorough chewing out. Any time he had even bumped into his Master, the scientist would scold him now how reckless and foolish he was being. Who knew what kind of dangerous chemical they could be carrying, the pointed out. And then Nil would go without supper that evening. What he didn't expect however was whoever he bumped into to apologize to HIM. This gave the behemoth pause while he tried to comprehend this. It was only a brief couple of seconds outside, but internally it was clicking gears and confused miniature versions running around his head trying to make sense of this. Shaking his head and hands before bowing deeply. "N-no, no, I'm sorry. That was entirely my fault, I should have been watching where I was going and listening more carefully if someone was here or making more noise so I could be avoided. I'm sorry, are you alright?" Iiiiidiot, Nil thought to himself, he could have put this guy's eye out with his horns or something! Likely his kowtowing could have went on for longer than it did, but the sound of his stomach growling broke the awkward silence that followed his swift apologies. Nil stood back up and sighed. It couldn't be seen past the robe or mask, but the beast's cheeks were tinged with embarrassment. Good job, making a right fool of yourself and the trip has only begun. "I'll be sure to not be so, uhm. Stealthy when walking down alleys from here on. I'm very sorry, sir."MADE BY VEL OF GS

Zidane was quick to rebound, stretching out his arms and torso before his tail drooped down, the end curling up enough to keep from dragging on the ground. By compare Zidane was pretty short. His baggy jodhpur didn't help with the illusion making it difficult to tell, which was how he liked it. It made fighting easier and even more so to get away after looting a rich old codger’s manor clean. Zidane was digging his outfit, but his wayward thoughts came crashing in with the behemoth of a man dropped down, head to floor, to apologize back.
Aww man he must have upset the guy or he was a jittery little bug! Zidane laughed out, trying to lighten the mood a bit. He waved his hands feeling a bit embarrassed now. “Hey, hey! Let's agree to disagree? Neither of us was looking, right?” Zidane reached up to rub the back of his had, gloved fingers brushing through his blonde locks.
A few people walking about came to stop and observe the scene. It was something to see such a big fellow bowing to someone as scrawny as Zidane. While the grandstanding rogue was fond of the attentions, this wasn't he kind he wanted to generate, especially in a place like this. It was a small town, numerous Districts aside, and having such things spread around about him sure made it hard to impress ladies. After all what sort of guy bullied newcomers? He moved to pull the guy up before anyone else came to stare at the side show. The rogue would try to wrap his arms around the stranger's forearm to hoist him to his feet.
“We're friends right, no need to do that kinda stuff. How about we go get something to drink? My treat, just stop bowing...” He quite a bit of strength which could be felt despite his size. Zidane was well trained and versed in the worlds. You'd never expect it from such a speedy smartmouth like him. “Deal?” Zidane offered. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. That was...also unexpected. Granted, Nil's experience with people was limi-okay it was non-existent save for his Master. And Master always said that only fools draw conclusions based on one test. And a fool Nil may be, but this person didn't seem anything like his Master. So was that one in column A and one in column B? Was there more than two columns? Was it rude to categorize people into columns? Who knew that meeting another person would bring to light so many questions. After his apologetic bowing was cut short by his stomach, the man even helped Nil up from his knees! Gosh, yep, really not like his Master. "Friends? Really? O-oh, ahm...T-thank you yes." Wow! He never had a friend before. Was it that easy? Just bump into someone and you can end up friends? Wow. ""Oh! Right, yes uhm. My name is Nil, it's nice to meet you! And ahh...Sorry about apologizing so much." he replied without the slightest hint of the irony behind that statement. When his new friend gripped his arm to help him up, the thief may notice that it seems quite a bit harder than normal. No real give as he tugs the man up to standing. Nil however makes no comment on it, but does bow his head again, but only briefly. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Zidane was plenty of things. He was a heart snatcher, a lady's man, a poet and even a brigand! A highwayman he may be, but no fool was he. But the thief wasn't someone you could categorize with labels, or break down with scientific thought. Someone once tried that and found he surpassed every one of their hypothesis, tests, and expectations. He bounced back from the brink of death with the love and care of his current family and continued to flourish under the wings of his friends. He wasn't one to shy away from a person in need, but he wasn't so foolish as to not recognize heartlessness. This fellow was far from the enemies or rivals he's faced. Lowell could learn a thing or two from his humility.
Zidane laughed, leaning back on his heels as he tucked his gloved hands into his deep pockets. His boots were quite tall and stylish, going up to his shins before the wide mouth stretched out, its laces haphazardly knotted. He leaned forward, his messily died back hair falling a bit to frame his face. It's Sandy color was reminiscent of straw, but it was a lot softer than it let on with how he handled the locks. He couldn't help but smiles, relieved that the guy calmed down. Why was it always that these bigger ones were such geeks? In a way he reminded him of Steiner. Not sure much a but when it came to Dagger's safety, but a really formal sort of guy that was a lot more emotional than he let on. As the fellow went on apologizing for his apologies, he offered his name.
Zidane held out his hand, sliding it out his pocket and parting his jaws as if he has a question. “Not gunna ask buddy, names Zidane.” Talk about odd names. Two peas in a pod these two were. “Like I said don't worry about it. Besides, a big fella like you could probably stand a few more drinks.” He looked like he could drink a Zhagnol’s portion. Zidane walked with Nil to the First District where they would find the pub. Zidane wasted no time in regaling the masked traveler in the tale of a cloaked hero who came back after fleeing into obscurity to return to his beloved. I Want to be Your Canary, he called in. Some things seemed immensely sad, while others immeasurably heroic. The play seemed to touch upon feelings of loneliness and betrayal. Was the princess of the story really waiting around to be rescued, or had she fought her own battle? Was the hero a coward to hide as long as he did, or ashamed in the hero he couldn't live up to be? Despite its ending it seemed many tragedies has led up to that point. But the play was never really the same when it was done on stage: each troupe finding a way to dramatize it's deeper meaning of having no home… The pair would arrive at the pub and Zidane was quick to take a seat outside. The waitress would sigh. She recognized Zidane and wished she wasn't on, but alas. He was a real flirty guy, so it was hard to be patient with him. “What'll ya boys have?” Zidane was keen to order a round of beer. When she took Nil’s order she'd be off to collect it. I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. Today was turning out surprising. Nil wasn't sure what he had expected from his flight from home. Everything from the moment he stepped paw out of that door was left to chance. He could have gotten lost in the city, he could have been caught. The ship he was on could have been raided and he could have gotten captured! It could have been blown to pieces! There's so many things that could have gone wrong. Though at the same time there's just as many things that could have gone right, but different. But none of those really mattered right now, right? It's not like he's going to just wake up in the box later realizing it was all some weird cloth induced heat-stroke dream or something. Nah, he was sure that he was awake and alive and totally not dreaming of things going well. Yes. Behind his mask the behemoth smiled and shook the hand that Zidane offered...that was the right greeting, right? Hand shake? Oh gosh, he really hoped he didn't screw that up. Either way he followed the young man along through the town towards the First District, taking in the sights and sounds but also intently listening to the tale that Zidane was telling. Nil had obviously never gotten to see a play or even heard of one, so that much was obscure to him, but the story was interesting all the same! The aspect of loneliness and betrayal though, well that hit pretty close to home. "I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, so feel free to ignore it but...what's a play exactly? And a troupe?" he asked awkwardly as he took a seat at the table with his new friend. What was...Oh! She was asking what he wanted, uhm. "Ah, uhm. Water please, thank you very much." he answered with a nod of his head. Water ahhh cool water. Would it be cool water? Most of the time Nil had room temperature water. And what was beer exactly? Obviously a drink too, he had heard the name from his Master before, but never more than that. Maybe Zidane would let him try it if he a...Oh no. Oh no! Eating! Drinking! Nil had not thought this through! He couldn't take off his mask to eat or drink without revealing himself! This robe only hid so much. Silently he panicked in his head and tried mentally jumping through hoops to figure out how this would remotely work! He couldn't scare off a friend after just making them! MADE BY VEL OF GS

Zidane lounged back in his seat. With his right arm tossed over the back he was leaned back enough to pull his right leg over his left knee. Letting his gloved hand wrap around his ankle his eyes drifted after the waitress. Blue orbs moved to Nil, his own eyes having a rather inhuman way about them. Maybe it was his thinner pupils or the glistening blue in his iris, but whatever it was the rouge seemed to be just out of reach, a wild child who damned the consequences of his actions. But those that knew Zidane was that he was fully aware of his actions and what that meant for others.Everything you did was but a ripple in the pond and would come to collide with the actions of another. It was what Baku often called destiny. It couldn't be avoided. Eventually you would meet face to face with the one crashing into your pond. It seemed Zidane had a manifest destiny to run into the poor guy. He seemed way out of sorts. The thief knew many came to Traverse Town after losing their path. The city called to those who had lost their homes to the Darkness. Zidane was just a passerby. He knew he had a hole to go to, but someone else needed their help. He grinned at the question, rubbing the side of his head. “A lot don't have theater it seems. Well a play is a show put on, on stage. You wear costumes and study lines to tell a story in front of an audience!” Zidane did love showing off and be it on stage or in the field of combat he made an effort to blow everyone out of the water! The orders were quick to arrive. Zidane dove right into his drink and chugged more than half down in a gulp. He set it on the table with a relieved sigh. It's been a long day! He wasn't keen on staying long, only passing by to the next place. Invincible was in ship shape and he would have to trouble hopping off. Oh right!“A troupe,” he began, wiping the frothy mustache from his face and offering a big grin. “It's a biiig family that does these shows together. Brothers, sisters, cousins!” The list was endless. He threw out his arms jovially. “And we may not always have been from the same family, or even neighborhood, but we're definitely a family. A big troupe that travels together to put on shows.” Bragging as it seemed Zidane was proud of his family. There seemed nothing he knew that he didn't learn from them or naught he was able to face that hadn't come as a result of their guidance. I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. Okay Nil, this won't be too hard. Right? It's just some water, should be able to just slide the mask up just enough to lap at the glass and...wait no, people don't lap up drinks! That would be weird! And sure, this robe seemed to hide most of his features besides his horns, but he was so super sure if he stuck his tongue out to lap up some water that would get weird looks! And the behemoth couldn't just flat out take the mask off! Maybe the cowl would hide his face but it wouldn't hide the fact the horns were actually attached to his head! Maybe he could just...delay it a bit, yeah. That'd be fine... So a play was a group of people telling a story together, pretending to be the characters in the story. Wowzers that sounded like a lot of fun actually, and the troupe was a family huh? Nil idly fidgeted with the glass of water in his gloved hands and sighed quietly, that sounded even better. What little he really had to go on about what family was...probably wasn't. His memories from before his Master were shoddy and fragmented at best but he knew enough. And everything he found out recently shattered any illusion there may have been of what family even remotely was. "What's it...What's it like?" Nil asked as he looked up from the still untouched glass of water. "Having a family. I...thought I had one, but it turned out I was wrong." he chuckled softly and rubbed the back of his neck. That seemed to be a recurring theme. Him being wrong. But maybe at least something Master had said was right. You learn more from mistakes than success. In the time that it took for Nil to ruminate and pose his question, the waitress returned to take their order. Dangit, here he was still trying to figure out how to drink this without de-masking and now there was food to worry about? What...what even would he eat? How would he...Wait. That's it! "I'll ah, do you have soup? Chicken noodle perhaps? That would be delightful...and if I could get a straw? T-Thank you." perfect! He could use the straw on the water AND the soup! Sure it was still weird, but hey, it was a little less weird than it could be right? The waitress jotted down the order and nodded before turning to Zidane to take his order. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Zidane felt a bit more relaxed at the prospect of getting some food and drink in him. Sooner than he realized they would arrive! Get drank back as much as he could in a single gulp. He had leaned back in his seat, letting his arm drape over the back of the chair. Pushing his foot against the ground the front feet of the chair raised enough off the ground to give him a fair tip. The long, blonde appendage was curled around and the end up keeping a measured balance. When he laughed or spoke he sat straight enough that one would think the chair liable to fall clean over one way or the other. He has incredible balance and could control his body. His take on how plays were only did to intrigue the ignorant. A place where his g behind a mask wasn't at all strange! He grasped the edge of the table and pulled himself forward with enough pull to right the seat. Nil's question wasn't something he could answer easily. He did have a family, but it took him a long time to understand what that was. He was likely not much older than Nil either. Zidane folded his arms behind his head. The rouge's left leg would pull over his right as he would, once again, begin to lean. It was a hard question to answer. “ Having a family is different for everyone. Families are also pretty different. Like I don't have a mom, but lots of brothers and sisters. My girlfriend doesn't have siblings, and lost both her parents, but she had two friends who take care of her like an aunt and uncle.” He scratched his cheek and chuckled. “ And sometimes you don't find your family until a little later in life.” He was feeling pretty good with his drink, downing much of the pitcher on his own. He looked over and nodded. “ Soup sounds pretty great actually!” He'd agree so they can get a nice large pot! And that's just what they got! Nice big bowls of hot chicken and noodles with spoons and straws for their drinks! Zidane started up on his bowl, tail wagging as he sat hunched over the table. A true soup eating champion. “ What about you Nil?” He sloppily slurped up a noodle and sat his rump on the chair. “ What's it like traveling on your own?” By the guys reaction to bumping into him .. he couldn't believe he had company. Being so inexperienced you'd think he'd be keen to find his friends. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. The prospect of being able to get a good meal in him, while also being able to keep his visage obscured let the young behemoth relax. He wasn't sure how Zidane here would react! It had only been a little while but at the very least from what Nil learned so far he'd probably react just fine, but that doesn't mean that anyone else here would react fine. With how hated monsters were, according to his former Master, he'd be lucky to make it out with his other arm. He idly rubbed his arm in thought as Zidane went on to answer his question. Different for everyone huh? Maybe he just got the short end of the stick. What were his real parents like before everything? Memories of them were hazy at best and at most non-existent. What Zidane said next though did give him a little bit of hope. Maybe there was a family out there for him still. A real family, not the fleeting image of what he thought he had. Nil had been ruminating on the thought long enough that he hadn't even noticed the food had arrived until Zidane asked him a question of his own! "H-huh? Oh...well uhm. You've been here for most of it." Nil laughed a little, sticking the straw in his water and slipping it under his mask to take a long sip before continuing. "Promise to not tell but, I was actually hiding in a crate after leaving home. I only had just climbed out before we bumped into one another...This is actually first time outside!" sliding the straw out of his drink he non-nonchalantly dipped it into the soup and took a sip of that as well...Midway through a second sip though he paused and stared at the soup, tears welling up in his eyes. For a few moments it probably seemed like he was about to cry about his family life, but eventually he managed to speak again "It's...It's so good! I've never had something that tastes this good." back in the straw went, though it was certainly having some troubles with the noodles and chunks of chicken... MADE BY VEL OF GS

Zidane had gotten used to Traverse Town, but that didn't mean he didn't miss home. The waitress reminded him of the servers in Alexandria. The thought had pushed his memories to Dagger which had caused him to yearn greatly for a path back home... He lowered his head and tapped his fingers on the table. The silence between the waitress leaving and Nil's chatter had really gotten to him. But he had hopes! He trusted he could find a way back home. Losing track of time only served to drive him further! If he wanted to make it to the stars he had to aim for them! The thought made the rogue grin, Nil's optimism really feeding his own.
"A stowaway huh?" He leaned back and scratched his chin. "I had a stowaway on my ship once. A cute girl. She broke into our theater cabin and well after seeing her cute face I couldn't throw her off." And so he -- ended up on the adventure of his life.
He reminisced to himself as he drank up the soup. Spoons? Pah! Heck even Nil just used a straw!
Zidane dipped the bowl back and took a swig. A deep, accepting sigh, escaped his chest. "Waaaah that hit the spot!" He declared and looked to Nil. "Well now that you're free, what do you wanna do first?" The question was out of no where. But Zidane remembered escaping the gang to see the world a few times in his youth. Eventually he always ran back home. The last time he was slugged to a damn near inch of his life but... He'd do it again. "I remember when I ran away from home," For the first time. "I went to a late night bar where all the adults hung out!"Scariest time of his life ever but these days he's seen worse. Like Cinna in the morning, before he washed his face. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky. Between his little sniffles at just how good the soup was, Nil tried to think of what all could be in it. Honestly the best soup he had before this was just some spare chicken that soaked in warm water to kinda make something almost resembling broth? It tasted chicken adjacent anyway. The behemoth had no idea food could actually be this good. He had cooked for his Master a few times, but was never really allowed to eat what he fixed. Left over scraps maybe but never the meals themselves! How much good food was he missing? He'd have to try everything!...But, wait. Food had to be paid for out here didn't it...Well. Darn. Looks like he'd just have to savour what is in front of him for now. Another slurp with the straw was cut short as a chunk of chicken got lodged about half way into the thing. "Fooey..." he grumbled as he attempted to get the chunk out. "Is being a stowaway a bad thing? Do people get thrown off for being a stowaway often?"Nil continued fumbling with the straw, behind his mask he furrowed his brow and tried sucking it through again to no avail. "I...I hadn't really thought about it. I mean, I never thought I'd make it this far honestly." Free. it was a strange concept really. He had never really thought of himself as being caged or chained before, it was all he knew after all. But now that he knew the truths of the matter and he was out of there. It felt like one weight was lifted, only to be replaced by another. There was so much out here, so many places, so many things. Where could he even begin? Okay. So since sucking the chicken chunk through wasn't working, perhaps blowing it out might work! Taking a deep breath, Nil inhaled and puffed hard on the straw. Lo and behold it worked! The small chunk of chicken flew from from the straw, down towards the table with a little thunk! Whereupon it bounced from the surface of the table and up right into the forehead of Zidane! Nil let out a squeak of surprise and flailed his hands in panic. "A-ah! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean for that to happen! The chunk got stuck and it wouldn't suck so I blew and thenI'MSORRYPLEASEDON"TBEMAD."MADE BY VEL OF GS

Zidane wasn't the neatest eater, but he wasn't a disaster either. He had enough sense to not tip the bowl so back he would ruin his favorite ribbon, but he also had enough tact to slurp just right. Setting the now empty bowl down after having taken another guzzle the rouge's tail would easily be spotted bouncing at his side, nearly touching to the ground with its motions. It was memorizing in its own right, but it didn't take long for a delighted belch to escape his gut. Among guys, right? He grinned delightfully as he, at least, used the napkin to wipe his mouth.
"Well, if you're caught. I mean often enough to teach everyone not to get caught, who do attempt it." He waved his gloved hand as he returned to leaning his other arm over the back of his seat, tilting ever so. "Buuut, lots of things are cause of trouble if you're caught. So, don't get caught." Zidane dipped his head to the boy.
It was death-defying how he would risk the tilt just to the edge of the boundary of balance where his body weight could easily carry him tail over head and onto the ground. A fine sense of balance was trained into the rogue in such a measure that scaling rooftops came as no effort, nor was shimmying up the side of a tree with skill that would put to shame any so-called simian cousins. Always the quickest retort any could muster regarding his origins. He was once rather unique in his grade with that tail. While most others had faces full of fur and paws, Zidane was halfway between to only find relation in such a way.
Zidane blinked and pushed to sit forward. "Well now we haaaave to do something!" The thief was enthusiastic about this.
Popping the big guy's adventure cherry? Hoo man! But in all of his excitement he had failed to see the incoming assault. A chunk of chicken right twixt the eyes. Getting bombarded by the meat chunk had caused the rogue to go cross-eyed for a moment before he reached his gloved hand up to wipe at the juices which remained splattered upon his face. The tailed crook started to laugh, only to burst out in cheer. It was sad... So sad that something so simple brought him so much joy! He was reminded of the gang. It often took little more than a misplaced splatter of food, eaten in the excitement Cinna's dinners brought: to start a food fight. Course the scolding and having to scrub the Clocktower head to toe was always kinda worth it because they could get in a nice, hot -- bath.
Bath?
"That's it! A bath!" The rouge would almost shine with the brilliance of his idea, only for the waitress to glare at him from around the corner. He gripped the edge of the table and swallowed the thought. "T-that is to say, there's a great shop passed the bathhouse in the Fifth District. We should hear out there and see if we can't at least get you something... to wear, I mean you can't go around dressed like that now that you're an adventurer!" He moved to stand, but in his excitement forgot the chair was tipped.
Down he went. With a surprised shout the thief tumbled. A moment of scrambling about and he shot up beside the table, slamming down a handful of gil. Right he was ready! He grinned at Nil and rubbed his hands together.
"You can keep the mask though it kinda fits with the whole mysterious adventurer motif." Besides if he was a fresh runaway, taking away his disguise seemed irresponsible. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Strange new worlds and the war within them. Beatrix needed a place to sit down, get a drink and think.
She’d only been in Traverse Town for a short time but it was still a timeframe that had brought her a new realm of understanding. Based on what she’d heard from Queen Garnet and the rest of the group that fought Kuja, there were worlds outside of their own. Though the one that Zidane heralded from had been destroyed, its existence proved that there were other planets in the void. So discovering yet another world hadn’t been as much of a shock as the way she had come about discovering it. Stumbling into a portal upon hearing about an intruder had brought her to Traverse Town and thrust her right into the middle of a battle with some Heartless. Evidently they were not creatures that only called this world their home and they were strange creatures indeed.
After all of that, it seemed her way home had been closed off. Now she was stuck here and she needed a means and a method of finding her way back to Gaia and to Alexandria. So she needed somewhere to collect herself and rest. She found herself walking the streets casually, her eyes flicking to each new corner in case another swarm of Heartless decided to pop up. But this part of the town was far more immersed in population, what with the walking civilians and shops with open signs. She imagined if there was a penchant for trouble, she would have found it by now.
On the right side of the street she noticed a small open-formatted shop, with a display of food and drinks behind the counter. She took a step towards it and then paused before she reached into the small bag she had acquired. The strange orbs inside of it, mismatched with blue and yellow, were apparently the accepted currency in this world and beyond she imagined. She had no idea what each one held in terms of value; she imagined the larger ones were more expensive than their smaller brethren. She’d figure it out; experimentation was the best means to coming to conclusions after all.
“How much for a mug of your strongest liquor?” She asked as she walked up to the counter.
“Uh…I’m not sure what you mean. We have some brand new cider, freshly made!” The shop keep said, doing his best to recover a new customer with something else.
"That’s… that’ll do just fine.” No point in arguing or causing a ruckus. Something to drink was still sustenance and even if it didn’t carry the bite of alcohol, it would refresh both her body and mind. She leaned up against the bar and looked out at the crowd, doing her best not to seem completely out of place. The sword on her hip probably didn’t help matters much.
