C assialyn was not sure what to do to help. So, she decided that it was safer to just stay out of the way and not bother him as he carried that large creature. It was impressive. He did not look like he could carry all that much with his fragile and petite frame like hers. But, obviously it was not a true face value of his strength. Though, it brought to question what she had seen again. The in-human arm that she had seen on the man. It couldn't have just been her eyes, right? The dancer watched the man's arm a bit as he carried the toad and walked. She just wished there was something more she could do to assist. She was just far too distracted at the moment, The only distraction being getting the water out of her shoes. She rang them out and continued barefoot for the moment. It was better then the sogginess that was before. Even if she was not a fan of the grass on her feet. She had become so engrossed in managing her shoes, to distract herself from what she had seen, that she had not even noticed the man sneak up on her. She jumped a bit as he held his hands around her own and chanted some words. The dancer watched as he did, feeling the warmth radiate from it. It took her a second to figure out what he was doing. But, it was a nice sentiment. "I can probably look and see. These are just really easy to move and dance in. The leather and boots might be too constricting..." She half admitted, almost feeling defensive like she couldn't even pick shoes right. That and she was hording her gil a bit. She had a small amount left from when she ran away and whatever she had earned along the way that she'd managed to save. She might have enough for a pair. But, she was more worried about food and shelter than shoes and such. She honestly only had like two pairs of clothing with her. She packed very light with the running. That was what she was good at. "Honestly, now. Nothing in particular...."Her eyes moving back to her shoes when he finished the spell. She squeezed them softly and nodded. "Thank you.....That's a lot better...." She thanked him as she moved to pop her shoes on really quick. It really took no time at all. "So? Ready? We need to bring anything?"

| Dieter’s lips curved upwards into a bemused smirk as Cassialyn visible lurched forward in surprise by the sudden appearance of his hands – especially their close proximity to her own. A velvety chuckle escaped him shortly after as he’d devoted his attention to his own ministrations – reluctant to accidental singe her shoe or worse. Cassialyn admitted that she’d at least browse the merchant’s wares, citing that both the leather sandals or even the cloth boots might be too constricting. He couldn’t refute her logic though, especially, after he’d witnessed the intricate nature of the footwork involved in her craft. For a second or two after she’d grown quiet, he’d remained silent as he’d gave her cloth shoes one final inspection – they appeared to be dry enough.
“I suppose, ye knows best.”
The Dark Knight admitted to the Dancer with a curt nod of his head. Cassialyn expressed a disinterest in prospective purchases at the Bazaar, albeit it might have been because she had yet to experience the unimaginable diversity. He’d watched as she’d gave her cloth shoes one final rung, nodding in approval as she’d thanked him. He’d replied with a polite smile and a curt shake of his head, there was no need to thank him – it was his fault they’d gotten so wet to begin with. He’d took a singular step back, simultaneously shifting his weight forward to the balls of his feet as he’d pivoted around. He’d made his way over to the children, each of whom handed over their harvest. They’d been kind enough to wrap it in the parcel paper from the meal earlier and had left a hastily scrawled note on the side – annotating the contents within.
“No, if ye are ready, we can head out.”
He responded before making his way back to Cassialyn’s side. He’d pointed towards a nearby elevator shaft – it’d lead up to the surface and came out relatively close to the Helios’ Ambition Clan Hall. Once they’d reached the surface, Dieter didn’t hesitate to begin the short journey up the street, which lead to the bustling bazaar.
"It's alot to take in at once isn't it?"

C assialyn would never admit it, but she felt a little flustered with him being so close. It made her almost uncomfortable to be that close. What would be making her that awkward? It was so unlike her. Yes, he'd saved her a few times now. Yes, he seemed like a rather decent guy even with the secretive background. But the closeness was not unwanted. No matter how uncomfortable she felt, it didn't feel out of place or unwarranted. She almost liked knowing he was right there. It had to just be that she was thankful for his help. Yeah, that was it. The woman, for the first time in a long time, really did not know what to say or do. She just stood there watching him as he concentrated his magic to dry her shoes. It wasn't necessary, but he did it anyway. It was a very sweet gesture and she didn't know if anyone that would ever do that for her. At least someone that wasn't required to do so. This was all genuine. She felt flustered, warm. It was the magic. She was sure of it. He agreed with whatever it was that she'd just said. What had she said? It was about the market. She was sure of it. Why couldn't she remember what they were talking about? She forced herself to avert her eyes down to her hands. It was the only way she could regain what little dignity she had left. She got herself situated after he gave them distance and she waited for his instruction. Dieter moved to collect the items from the children that they had wrapped and packed for him. That had to make it easier. It was nice that they had a routine to follow. That was good for children. They seemed like pretty good kids. She almost wondered how so many of them had ended up like they are. It was a shame. They needed someone to take care of them. Dieter really did do a good job of that. It was cute. He was the closest they had to a parent and he was pretty decent. She was pulled back to reality when she realized Dieter had stopped in front of her and said that he was ready to go if she was. "YEP!" She replied, a bit louder than she intended, moving to walk behind him, a bit flustered again by being caught off guard. She was too busy thinking again. She moved as she walked with him and headed in the direction. The woman had no idea what to do. She followed as Dieter walked her through the city. It was a lot to take in. Dieter was obviously right about that. Plus, he seemed to know his way about. "It's actually a lot bigger than the ones near my hometown..." She admitted as she walked.

Dejectedly, more than a handful of the children had found themselves in their current predicament through no fault of their own, no, the blame laid almost entirely upon the Empire – their parents sacrificing their lives for their country. Alas, such thoughts were trivial as Cassialyn and Dieter made their way through the Bazaar. His eyes fluttered shut for a moment as he’d savored the fragrant, lingering order of innumerable spices, herbs, and medicinal concoctions. His head turned in the Dancer’s direction, surprise momentarily visible upon his face as she’d begun to open up about her past. This is a start, Dieter mused to himself, excited by the fact that he’d managed to gradually break through the walls Cassialyn had erected in order to defend herself.
“Where is home for ye?”
Dieter inquired as he’d paused at one of the merchant’s stands to inspect their wares at length. He’d stared down at the purchasable relics, his smile shrinking ever so as he’d recalled the countless missions he’d undertook for Lord Belias. However, a singular deep breathe through his nostrils was enough to rein himself back in. He’d reached into the parcel to fish out the elemental stones they’d acquired. He also took a moment to pull out the canopic jar and lastly the arcana – something that was coveted by those researching Magick. He’d have been a fool not to notice how the man’s eyes glinted excitably when he saw the latter two objects. Before to long, the two were engaged in heated negotiations.
“What do you mean, 500 gil for the entire set?”
Dieter retorted, his tone suggesting that he was annoyed. Although, Dieter wasn’t a merchant by any means, he knew that his wares were worth far more – especially since each was an ingredient for some rare weaponry or armor. He’d prepared to walk away after naming his price, 2000 gil , before he’d made it to far he heard the merchant’s frantic shout for him to come back. He’d reluctantly pivoted on his heels and smirked as they’d agreed upon the price Dieter had been looking for.
“I’ll pay ye 1,500 Gil for the bundle. Plus, another 500 for the Demon Eyeball”
Dieter nodded his head, extending the wares as he’d watched the man meticulously count of the coin. Surprised that the merchant had noticed the small orb hidden within the depths of the pouch. That left him with the pelts and the horn from the Gigantoad. He’d smiled to himself, he’d known that he’d gotten the better of the deal. He'd paused to glance over in Cassialyn's direction to see if she'd found anything that had caught her interest - even though she'd expressed that she hadn't been interested in anything.

C assialyn let her eyes wander the city as they walked together. It really was rather a nice city. It was just a shame that so many kids had no families to care for them. She could only imagine how scared some of them had to be. At least they had the orphanage community to care for them. She had inadvertinly revealed a bit about herself. But, Dieter saved her. She just didn't know how he would handle her growning up to a well off family. She hestiated a bit before speaking up in return. "The Royal City of Lesalia." She responded as she walked, not realizing the implications of that to Dieter. Her eyes exploring the wares as they walked. But she noticed he had paused at one to haggle. It was more than amusing how he managed to get the price up three times over. She had to keep a straight face as he worked his magic. She moved to glance over the other stands. There were some nice things. She was sure that she would have wanted them if she could afford it. But she had to watch what she was spending. If she was going to spend anything, it would be on food or a new pair of shoes if they worked for her. But, she'd have to find the right stand to be able to find what she was looking for. The young dancer stayed nearby as she browsed the wares. Maybe she really should invest in another pair for the less pleasant weather. It would be a worthwhile investment. If she kept up this pace, she'd ruin her shoes in no time. Maybe she could find something that the more flexible fighting classes used. She could probably learn how to fight in them if need be. It would also be safer to have better shoes then the thin leather pieces on the bottom that didn't even keep her feet warm. She also did not know how far they planned to make her trek on foot. It was starting to look like a good idea to find shoes. Her eyes moved to look back at Dieter to see him watching her. Why was he just staring at her? It made her uncomfortable as she moved to head back, folding her arms. "....I was thinking maybe a spare pair for when it rains or more expeditions like that would be a good idea...."

| The Dark Knight felt his blood turn to hoarfrost within his veins, each beat of his heart brought with it a fresh wave of phantasmal agony – memories of an unforgiving past threatened to resurface. Lesalia , it had once served as the centralized hub of Ivalice – its’ wealth still prominent despite its’ involvement in a string of wars. Lord Belias’ whimsical requests had brought him through the heart of the Royal City, passing through to the town of Gollund. If he’d recalled that particular mission was pertinent to the rumored discovery of a rare ore – it’d turned out to be nothing more than an alchemist’s rambling. In spite of his best efforts, Dieter found his gaze lingering upon Cassialyn, his disbelief causing him to blink once or twice.
Was Lesalia on any of the maps within the Clan Hall? Such an answer eluded the Dark Knight, whom struggled to recall if he’d seen it. Not that he was particularly privy to the changes of Ivalice, he’d seldom went far beyond the walls of Rabanastre – unless a mission required him to do so. Dieter was pulled from his thoughts as Cassialyn expressed her interest in a secondary pair of shoes, exclaiming that they’d come in useful for if there was unfavorable weather or if she’d attended further expeditions. He nodded his head in agreement, bringing his pointer finger to his lip before he’d proceeded to tap it against the coral-hued flesh. He was certain that there had been a Trapper somewhere in the Bazaar.
Why was he looking for a Trapper in particular though? They normally had an interest in pelts and other harvested materials. – not to mention they frequently picked up some other tricks of the trade.
“The one Trapper normally sets up over here.”
He said aloud as he’d navigated towards the outer portion of the Market, pausing in front of a vendor that had an array of pelts tanning. He forced himself to swallow the bile that had risen to the back of his throat in response to the putrid odor wafting from a series of vases. He’d hurriedly performed negotiations, opting to trade the stack of pelts and the remainders of the loot in exchange for a pair of waterproofed shoes – they’d hold up a bit better long-term. Surprisingly enough, the man agreed to such a trade knowing that he could repurpose those handfuls of pelts to recreate a number of similar slippers or even lightweight vests.
“Mi’lady, I don’t know what size you wear, so you’ll have to try them on.”
Dieter spoke softly, offering a smile in Cassialyn’s direction.

C assialyn had not even noticed how her words had affected him. Her eyes were wandering the crowd. Though, the lack of any sort of response should have been the clue. It took her a second to realize how silent he had gotten. This normally wasn't a topic she enjoyed discussing as it brought up her religious beliefs and her family's more weathy status. However, that was not the case. She had limited funds and she did not want people to attempt ransoming her back to them as she never wished to trek back there. The dancer had started to glance back with the silence to see him tapping his lips in thought. It was amusing to her how in thought he was. Before she could ask what he was thinking, he spoke up about a trapper and started leading her off in a specific direction. "Trapper?" She asked as she moved after him to follow. What did he mean? Did they need to pick up traps or was this to sell the skins and such that they had gotten on their hunt today. It only took moments for him to negotiate the deal. Cass making a face. "I can probably get them on my own. She started to argue, but she knew by the face he was most certainly about to make that it was not worth the fight. She'd have to pick up something they'd need for the orphanage of equal value. She did not like getting anything for nothing. In her mind, today's mission was repayment for them saving her life the day before and housing her for the evening. Not to purchase another pair of shoes. Cass moved and complied to his request. She sat and tried on a few till they found one that fit. They felt very weird, but they were right. She did really need a better pair and this would help. Once they got a pair, she put her cloth ones back on for now as she moved with Dieter. "Seriously. I can pay you back for the shoes. I do not want to take away from the kids." She had a very caring and sweet heart. She always meant the best. Sometimes it was a fault that hindered her.

Dieter’s alabaster fingertips tentatively traced out a series of distinct patterns upon the hanging drying leather, marveling at how smooth and unblemished it felt – so different from the well-worn leather wound around the hilt of his blade. Of course, the Dark Knight didn’t doubt that Cassialyn could afford the shoes that he’d bartered for, although his reasoning behind it was that they’d be a necessity for upcoming hunts – assuming that she’d stuck around long enough.
“Don’t worry about that, ye can pay me back in time… Ye’ll need them for future hunts.”
He’d retorted, Dieter knew the children would understand, besides they’d mitigated a chunk of their food cost with that Gigantoad – it’d provide more than a handful of hearty meals. Plus, he felt that despite what Cassialyn had shown him today, she undoubtedly had potential. What made him think that? It was simple, she knew how it felt to be powerless, subjected to someone else’s’ desire. Yet, her drive never once waivered, no he’d seen the determination in her eyes as she’d fought against Drake.
“I suggest ye turn in early. Ye have a long day ahead of ye tomorrow, your training will begin.”
He’d stated firmly, his tone suggesting that once again this wasn’t up for negation. Without another word, he’d pivoted on his heel, taking a few steps away before he’d glanced at Cassialyn once again. He waited for her to put her shoes on and to join his side before he’d continued back to the Clan Hall. Once they’d returned, he’d left the money with the Clan Treasurer. The thought dawning upon him, sooner or later, he’d need to teach the children how to successfully navigate the Market Place. But that was a task for another time.

C assialyn felt a bit uncomfortable with the whole situation. She did not want to just accept them. They had already done a lot for her. She just couldn't. But the look said that she should stop arguing as he turned on his heels and started, waiting for her to put the shoes on. So, she caved and changed the pairs. Of course she would have to break them in first. That was always the tougher part. The young woman listened as he explained that she should rest well tonight. She presumed that they would be doing more things with the children. That she certainly did not mind. The kids were so sweet and they seemed to be pretty cool with her at the moment. It was nice to be accepted for a change for who she was, not who she always had to pretend to be. She was done with pretending. "H-hey! Wait up!"
