CHANGE IS NON-EXISTENT WITHOUT ACTION. it must have been inside my head I lost the hope that I have left “Please, don’t,” a trembling gulp escaped the lips of a scrawny man, mouth opening in horror, revealing their rotten teeth. They were pinned against a wall, the upper part of his back pressed against a cracked window and their arms were shaking, held up high in the way of a surrendering gesture. “I swear, man- I’ll never do it again. Just let me ago.”In front of the panicking individual was a figure, helmed in amber. The figure’s stature was calm, menacing, as they advanced themselves steadily towards the man. The two of them were in a dark junky room, furniture flipped over, shattered glass on the floor that belonged to both light bulbs and bottles, and a few shadow heartless scattering amongst the walls. The darkness was drawn to the engagement before them, like moths to a flame. The only thing keeping the heartless at bay was the insignia that was present on the yellow helmet of the intruder. “That little girl could have lived a full life,” the soldier of darkness spoke, his voice deepened as the insidious vibrato of Fear channeled within the helm. Blackout was driving the bus, but the whispers of the heartless influenced the wheel. The parasite’s amusement of Shiro’s anger began to emanate from the soldier. “This world is a collective of the lost and broken. We are meant to band together against the darkness and you threw that girl away to it like trash. Do you really think you saved your own hide now?”
The intellect coyly assessed the murderer’s bloody clothing, motioning his head up and down to gesture at what he had already done to the killer. ‘It was do or die, man. You must have seen that we both weren’t going to make it!” the fearful man pleaded with sincerity. “I had to!”“The remorse. I hope it eats away at you with the little time you have left,” the soldier stated, turning around to start walking towards the door. Fear was not pleased. “Just take his heart and be done with it, end him…”Shiro stopped in his tracks, listening to the hammering whispers of the dark desires. The shadow heartless descended from the walls, approaching both the killer and the soldier. The marksman quickly drew out one of his pistols and shot down an approaching heartless within seconds. The shadow heartless were startled by the quick kill and then started to navigate towards the easier target. “Good luck in the other shoes,” the dark warrior expressed towards the injured man. Enraged, the killer panicked and punched the glass behind them, grabbing a piece of glass to fight with. “Fuck that girl. I’m going to kill you, demon. Just watch!”“Just act on what I know you want to do,” the whispers continued to bleed through to his thoughts. Immediately flipping back around, the soldier dispatched the heartless quickly with several bullets. The murder charged at Fear through the dark fumes to only meet a strong kick to the chest, sending the man flying, almost out the window. They yelled in agony as the snap was heard from the lower part of one of their legs. Crying of pain ceased to exist as their adrenaline kicked in when they began to float, scrambling to reach the ground. The shattered glass would claw into the man’s skin as they departed slowly through the window. “What are you doing to me!?”Fear paced themselves to the windows with their open faced hand aimed at the killer. The gravity manipulator was altering their gravity to create their suspension in the air. The killer panicked as they observed the fact they were suspended from a three story high building within the second district. “What are you”, he choked the words out as he was manipulated to be in the air upside down, their pocket change sliding out of their pocket and hitting the streets below. “A message,” the executioner informed, snapping his fingers to revert the man’s gravity to normal and let go of their gravitational hold. A thunk was heard and the man within Fear sighed of relief as booming thunder echoed across the night sky. To those that would witness the act, Blackout hoped that the golden demon sent fear to their hearts. Hopefully the man was known in more ways than the transgression that Fear knew of, and that some would find solace in the fact that the demon of Traverse Town took out another danger to the world and there was some peace to be had. Shiro gazed through the helmet at the rain that began sprinkle, turning around and proceeded to withdraw himself from the area before the storm. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Rina glanced up into the sky as thunder boomed and clouds gathered to turn the perpetual night of Traverse Town even darker. No moon or stars could be seen and the back alley Rina had found herself in had only a few muted street lamps. There was no telling what was lurking in the shadows. What deeds were being done. The young woman had come to the bustling hub to do some trading and once her business was complete she decided to head on home. Unused to how large the town had grown over the years she had become lost in the maze of backstreets. She noticed she was among the more unfortunate townsfolk. The poor and the wicked who couldn't afford to live in the nicer parts of town or chose to carry out dark tasks out of the eye of the authorities. Rina wasn't scared. This was almost like the slums she came up in. Almost like home. She was on edge though. There was a charge in the air that wasn't lightning. That being on edge was what made her gasp and scream when a male body dropped with a sickening crunch, spraying blood and Shiva knows what else onto her boots. Looking at the body and not daring to get closer, she looked up at the direction that the man had came from. Rina had only caught a glimpse of the assailant but she knew that white bodysuit and golden helm from her nightmares. And if her eyes had deceived her, her heart had not. It had begun to beat quickly and that infernal tug in her gut had settled in. Wherever Fear would go, Blackout would be there as well. Rain began to fall heavily and Rina tugged up the hood of her coat, which coincidentally (or not at all at this point) was the one she had repaired for Blackout. He never returned, so she kept it and used it. A memory of their strange encounter. A memory she wasn't able to forget no matter how hard she tried. A crowd had started to gather despite the rain and the girl started to edge out from it and into an alley which would lead to the front of the derelict hotel. As she closed onto the opening into the front of the street, Fear had appeared and was walking away from her. Against her better judgment (she was sure this thing had just killed a man) she reached out and grasped a muscled arm clad in white. " H-hey! What are you doing here? What have you done?!" Fear

CHANGE IS NON-EXISTENT WITHOUT ACTION. and now at last it comes to pass we sleep, we dream, we have no less As the heartless evacuated the building, he turned to his right and proceeded to walk away from the witnessing crowd. Not necessarily in a rush; he wasn’t ashamed of what he had done. The creep deserved it for what they did to that little girl. Little did the soldier know how significant his execution would be. Getting stopped in his tracks, he felt a firm grip on his arm and listened as a pleasant confusing voice confronted him. Beneath the helm, the man’s eyes widened as he immediately recognized Rina’s vocals. “Rina…” the man beneath the monster uttered from within the demon. “I told you to forget me,” Fear’s voice started to overlap the empty vessel’s. He’d disappear into a dark corridor, the heartless leaving it open momentarily for her to follow suit. Fear stepped onto the top of a nearby rooftop, feeling the rain pellet against his helm. The sinister being was keeping its hands on the wheels of Shiro and wanted to play a game with the girl harboring its lustful darkness. Within the soldier, Shiro was trying to hold onto the firm grasp he had on the situation but was slipping due to the reappearance of the woman he felt he had scarred with his darkness. Guilt, shock, and unknown feelings circled around his entity, trying to sort it all out before he’d be strong enough to take control from the parasite. “What I did was justice,” the golden demon would say if Rina followed as planned. “ The man was sick and needed to be put down; they took an innocent life tonight before I ran across them. Would you agree life is safer if men like him didn’t exist?” Fear tried to mimic how Blackout spoke, hoping Rina would believe the soldier was to blame entirely. along the path we lost our way it's all a game that I must play

Rina's grip upon the man tightened for a moment as Shiro said her name and she was about to step closer but as it became obvious that Fear was in control she jerked back like she had been burned. Fear disappeared into the dark and without even thinking of the consequences of following the Heartless she stepped though the corridor, the short trip making her feel heady and sick. Or maybe that was just the effect of being around Blackout and Fear again. She wasn't sure. His words stating that she was told to forget him sounded distorted and echo-y like she was listening to him say it in her memory from all those months ago. Her head began to clear soon after emerging from the portal and she saw that Fear had brought them to a shadowed rooftop. As the man stood in the rain, she ducked under a nearby awning seeking both shelter and some space away from Fear. Rina could still hear his measured words, his explaining away that the man was sick and needed to be put down, that they were a murderer themselves. " Would you agree life is safer if men like him didn’t exist?" Rina sighed softly. Well she didn't disagree. It wasn't that long ago that she was in the same position...asking the same question. It made her shiver how alike the two of them were and how nearly parallel their paths were. Rina stepped away from the awning, slowly approaching Fear, pushing through her own internal fear of both the Heartless and what it woke up within her. She touched the same arm she had grabbed earlier, feeling how cold it had become. " You're not wrong. I've did the same exact thing...to protect myself and others." She chose her next words carefully. " There's a different path though. A different road I've chose to walk on. I can't speak for you but Blackout...I bet he doesn't enjoy this. I bet he wants a different path. I can help now. Both of you. Let me...let me talk to him. Please?" Rina looked up into her reflection in the helm, not meeting the blank eyes of Fear. " I'll let you talk to her."
She hasn't been able to forget either.

CHANGE IS NON-EXISTENT WITHOUT ACTION. The yellow eyed demon frowned beneath the helm, not pleased that he failed at mimicking his host. The frown didn’t last long, as the girl’s offer brought a mischievous smirk to his lips; it was a shame that the female couldn’t see it. Fear loved being in control, but the notion of getting close to the darkness within the girl was too alluring. It wanted to consume the dark flame that encapsulated her heart. An idea formed in the demon’s thoughts, however… that could let it have its cake and eat it too. “You really think that highly of him?” the heartless sneered as she felt his cold arm through his jacket. “Intriguing offer. If you want him, follow the yellow brick road like before. Give in to it.” The chilled arm would start to crackle with golden static, giving Rina the option to go back to the void, where both his host and her tried so hard to forget. If she’d let the darkness take over, their surroundings would fade to black, arriving at the depths of Shiro’s mind, once again. A familiar door would appear to Rina, stained in obsidian-like glass. “Our time was cut short last time, wasn’t it? This time, I think we’ll both get what we want.” Fear pried. Fear would remove himself from the girl, taking a couple steps back and then extending his arm towards her. His palm, facing upright, would reveal a key that was bright white, as if it’d emanated of pure energy. “Take this key and beyond that door, seek and you shall find. One small caveat, you leave her with me… Do we have a deal?”If Rina chose to accept and used the key to unlock the door, the atmosphere would begin to change, shadows forming into white walls, with bright LED lights overhanging, blinding anyone that’d stare them down for too long. Furniture would start to appear, giving off the vibe of a high-tech military bunker. Ghosts of both military personnel and government officials would pass through her, as if Rina didn’t exist and they were operating as normal. It would be noisy, sounds of heavy machinery and thumps of marching men could be heard from above, showcasing that she was clearly not on the top floor. One sound would stand out amongst the rest if one focused enough, screams of agony. It was on the same floor, no doubt, and if one were to exit the room and traverse the hallways, they’d find a door guarded by heavily armed ghosts. Inside said room would be several men and women, dressed in lab coats, rushing about, typing intensely on computers and taking notes. If one were to examine the files, they’d find extensive research on a project “Duplicate”, including a documented history of the test subject, Shiro Utuago AKA Blackout. All of this research was completed in front of a two way window, spotlighting a raven haired man that kept getting casted Thundaga on, bolts of blue striking from the high-tech walls. Followed by the strikes, a healing mist of Curaga would fill the room, funneling from the ceiling, patching up the test subject before the next rounds of Thundaga would be cast. The soldier’s clothes were ripped heavily, his exposed muscle tissues bleeding profusely at several gashes. The intellect had no time to think between the cycles; he could only feel the immense pain over and over again, hoping one time would be the last.and now the weak that fall return to ash, defeated after all MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Rina knew she had landed herself into a trap. The static made her fingertips tingle but that didn't stop her from sliding her hand down Fear's arm and clasping his hand in both of hers. Her whole body trembled but she was going to stand her ground. She wasn't exactly the same woman that first encountered Fear. She was no longer afraid of the evil that he brought forth from deep inside her.
"Yes. I do think highly of him." She stepped closer, growing cold as the darkness enveloped the pair. "."
A familiar door had appeared before them and Fear released himself from Rina, putting his counter offer in front of the girl. Blackout for Her? No sane person would make that deal but at this point was Rina all that sane? Trading the dark part of her soul for a man she barely knew but couldn’t get out of her head in the months since they first met? A smirk twitched at her lips. She would have traded it for less.
“Our time was cut short last time, wasn’t it? “Take this key and beyond that door, seek and you shall find. One small caveat, you leave her with me… Do we have a deal?”
Do we have a deal? Rina hesitated for a moment before accepting the key. "I don't know what you're expecting of me, Fear. I don't think she'll stay with you. She's not one to be controlled so easily. But yes. We have a deal.”
Taking a breath Rina inserted the key and watched the door creak open. The background chatter of people going about their business buzzed in her ears as she stepped through. The door blended into the blank wall behind her and disappeared. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the sudden brightness as she exited into the hall but then she could see people who were slightly transparent bustling by her, some even going right through her like ghosts. Or maybe she was the ghost to them.
"Where am I?” she asked softly to herself. She wandered down the halls aimlessly for a time before hearing agonizing screams that made chills go racing down her back. It had to have been Blackout. Rina sprinted down the hall, bursting through the door paying no mind to the armed guards. They didn’t seem to see her. The screams became louder.
Several scientists were in the room, some of them typing at computers and a group of them standing in front of a two way mirror. She glanced at the data that was pulled up on the screens and the various opened files One closest to her confirmed who the screams were coming from. In big bold letters the file was titled:Shiro Utuago AKA Blackout.
Rina covered her mouth with her hands and tears welled up in her eyes. His name was Shiro. She knew his name and could tell him once she made it out of this nightmare. Except it wasn’t was it? This must have been one of his memories that he had lost. Moving towards the mirror she braced herself for what she would see. .She placed her hands on the glass and peered in through the window. A crack of lightning came from the walls and zapped Shiro right in front of her. “No!” she gasped. Rina made her way into the chamber where Shiro was being kept.
His clothes were in tatters and smoking from the repeated bolts of lightning.Rina had had enough, she couldn’t watch this anymore. Between the last bolt of lightning and the next healing spell Rina attempted to undo the straps that kept Shiro bound to the chair. Her hands would just fall through each time. Of course…she wasn’t really here. She wouldn’t be able to save Shiro from this fate. Remembering why she was there, Rina took a deep breath and summoned her daggers, tipping them with darkness like a poison. Maybe Fear would let her win if she played the game.
Swiping through his bonds she was able to cut them this time and pulled the man forward. “Come on, Shiro. Let’s go!”
She did no more than stand the man up on his two feet before yellow eyes and dark shadows began to come from the surrounding walls. The scientists, the soldiers, everyone who appeared as a ghost to Rina was now closing in on the pair. They would devour them completely.

CHANGE IS NON-EXISTENT WITHOUT ACTION. Fear had a wicked smile, beneath the helm, as he watched the girl walk to the door. With each step, imprints of dark would be left behind. Purple hued smoke emanated from them, traveling towards the heartless. It’d surge into the amber shelled being, bolts of lightning flickering at every touch. The power… It felt just as exhilarating as the last time, but it needed more to feed its insatiable lust for strength. With this kind of power, Fear could put Shiro in a chest deep within and lock him up tight forever. With the heartless at the wheel, it could be free to do darkness’s bidding and consume the hearts of many, hearts of worlds; as nature intended. Fear only needed Rina’s darkness to free it from chains. As violet shadows continued to enter the ravenous being, it closed its eyes and focused, hatching a plan that could earn its freedom if executed correctly. The soldier was too smart for his own good, as the parasite only benefited from his intelligence. A striking yellow shell started to envelop the heartless, creating an amber cocoon that radiated of the power of the darknesses combining.–Ears ringing, the man’s diamond eyes veered up to meet those of navy blue. At her command, he accepted her help and stood up, trying to reconnect with reality itself. Reality was looking quite grim, as he was welcomed by various individuals staring at the two, sharing striking yellow eyes. Shiro felt nauseous, looking down at his trembling fingers that crackled with blue energy. It was happening again. He turned to his savior and yelled, “Get down!”. Raising his palms at the amber eyed nightmares, a huge blast of blue shot out of both, annihilating the glass between them and the analytics. The ghosts disappeared at the touch as particles of glass rained upon both rooms. Quickly, Shiro shot a glance at the woman that saved him, hoping that she was okay.“I’m sorry, the energy needed somewhere to go,” the soldier spoke. The room started to distort around them, objects starting to blur together with the walls. Reality seemed to be shaken up. “Thank you. I don’t know what I did to deserve your help. We should go; I don’t think we’re in Marial anymore.” so you found your prize… but are you able to leave with it…Whispers would echo throughout the room, as if they were bleeding into one’s ears. The room would transfigure itself into another location entirely, but not a memory of Shiro’s- a memory of Rina’s, featuring eldritch tendencies. i can feel your pain, child… it’s invigorating…“Can you hear those whispers too?” Shiro winced while his hands cupped his ears, feeling the pain of his past torture and the words of the heartless digging into the intellect’s head. “Where are we?”

As commanded Rina covered her head and ears, turning her back from the blast. The burst of electricity made the hairs on her arms and the back of her neck stand on end. As the blast shattered glass and made the ghosts disappear, Shiro turned to check on his companion. As he spoke Rina’s vision began to swim, shapes becoming distorted, Shiro’s voice becoming far away.
“Thank y…did to deserve…we should go.”
Rina nodded numbly and reached out to grip Shiro’s elbow to steady herself as she swayed forward. “Y-yeah. We should go,”
so you found your prize… but are you able to leave with it…
Fear’s needling voice entered Rina’s mind and with a groan of pain she dropped to her knees. She squeezed her head in her hands trying to rid herself of the agonizing fire that was consuming her insides. Glancing over at Shro she could see that he had his hands over his ears as well but didn’t seem to be in the same distress as Rina was. She was nearly curled in on herself, tears streaming down her face when the pain suddenly stopped. Fear must have found what he was looking for. Their surroundings had changed. Tears continued to slide down Rina’s cheeks.
“Where are we?”
“I think I know…” Yes, Rina knew. This must have been one of her memories, even though it wasn't something she could possibly remember. But she could feel it. Something was about to happen. This was the beginning. Her beginning
The sky was dark like night, but there were no stars to be seen. Very little was actually visible due to the thick haze of smoke and Darkness around them. The Darkness was oppressive, almost making it hard to breathe. The wind was howling and a large gust blew past them uncovering a dilapidated house in front of them, Some walls missing, others sagging, the roof looking to collapse at any moment. A young woman with black hair that was starting to silver earlier than it should have been was knelt beside a wooden cradle. She rocked it gently, singing softly to the crying child inside. She would glance around periodically like she was keeping watch to protect her child from something. The wind was picking up again and the child cried louder. The sound made Rina shudder.
She made her way onto unsteady feet and like she was in a trance she walked towards the mother and child. As she became closer she felt something deep in her chest that thrummed hard when she looked at the young woman. “Is…is that…? M-mom?” Rina’s throat felt so tight that she could barely speak. The wind battered at her, trying to hold her back but she continued, each step bringing her closer , but bringing the Darkness in closer as well. She was an arms length away before her strength was completely sapped and she collapsed onto the ground.
Trying to push herself up onto her hands , Rina glanced down to see a stream of purple swirling smoke exiting her chest forming a feminine form in front of her. A form that Rina was all too familiar with. Rina’s Dark Other caressed her vessel’s cheek before melting into the ground, reappearing behind the child’s mother. She peered over the mother’s shoulder grinning at the child in the cradle before looking back up at Rina. “No! Leave them alone!” Rina began to drag herself towards the cradle. “Stop! Take me instead! Please!” As Rina drew closer the Woman’s dark form became more clear, more defined, taking more of Rina’s appearance. With a wide smile showing a row of jagged teeth the Dark Form summoned one of Rina’s daggers and with no hesitation slashed a line across the woman’s throat. Blood splashed down her body, into the crib, pooling onto the ground. The woman gasped and gurgled, clutching at her throat. Screaming, Rina found her strength and bolred towards the women. She raised up the woman who she had no doubt was her mother, blood making her hands slip. “No, no! Don’t go! Please, I'm here!”
"Save her..."
Rina saw the bloody lips move, more than she heard the breathless voice. She watched the woman’s eyes become lifeless orbs. With shuddering breaths Rina reached into the cradle but was only able to grasp at bloodsoaked blankets. She frantically looked around before spotting her Dark self rocking the child in her shimmering arms, shushing and cooing at the baby. Swirls of Darkness surrounded the three of them. She beckoned towards Rina to come closer and like an obeying child she came. A wave of nausea went through her as the now quiet child was now passed to her. Glittering blue eyes, the same blue eyes that Rina saw every morning in the mirror gazed back at her.
“This was the day…the day I created you. The day I gave birth to you.” the Woman murmured softly into Rina’s ear. “The day that I saved you.”
This made Rina’s head jerk up to stare at the woman. “Saved me?! You STOLE me! You stole everything I was meant to be!” She gestured to the baby in her arms. “SHE was innocent! I WAS INNOCENT!”
Rina looked back down at her mother’s lifeless body at her feet. Her voice was choked by sobs and came out as a pitiful whine. “You killed my mom…” Rina looked up to confront the Woman but she was already gone, as was the child that had been in Rina’s arms. The blood was no longer on her hands. Soft laughter, a man and woman’s mixed together, filled Rina’s ears.
“She was in our way.”
The area began to morph again, bright white light flooding the plane. The old wooden door with the obsidian glass had appeared once more.

CHANGE IS NON-EXISTENT WITHOUT ACTION. As the world took a new form in front of the two, the intellect pondered in pain. Was this part of the torture? Had he gone mad? The woman that stood beside him; he could see that he wasn’t the only one going insane if that were true. The voice that had been digging into his skull; it seemed like Shiro wasn’t the only target. The new world view was completely unrecognizable, but it was apparently the exact opposite for his new companion.
The tears that streamed down her face; their destination must have been extremely personal for her. He tried to push through the dark winds, just as her; trying to reach the mysterious woman before the nightmare took her too. Before the woman’s throat was slit, the raven haired man threw out his arms, hoping he could blast the violent entity with anything he had left; to no avail. Blue sparks puttered out across his finger tips. As he dredged through the opposing forces, he could only watch in horror as the darkness claimed the woman’s life.
The winds were chaotic and oppressive, making the exchange between his temporary partner and the entity difficult to hear; he could make out some of it however. The man’s heart sunk to hear that the victim was her mother. She was a stranger to him, and the intellect found that there was nothing he could say or do to comfort her; not in the chaos that enveloped them. A blinding light was cast upon the two, their atmosphere changing once more.
Shiro could smell the salty aura of the sea. The two of them stood around the midpoint of a mountain peak, hearing the sounds of seagulls. At the top of the triangular peak rest a door of obsidian glass. He had never seen it before, but the soldier felt drawn to it. He turned over to the woman, whom was recovering from the previous incidents. Feeling the urge to support her in anyway he could, he took a couple steps towards her. “I can’t imagine how you’re feeling right now. I’m so sorry.”
“Rina!” A familiar voice was heard from behind him. “Get away from him, it’s them!”
The raven haired man turned his head to look down the slope, to see another raven haired individual approach them, wearing Blackout’s uniform and all, minus all the tattering and ripping. The duplicate had his arm raised, wielding a gun that was pointed right at Shiro. “Why!? It’s just me that you’ve wanted. Let her go!” The duplicate yelled at the soldier.
Shiro made a gesture, putting his hands up as he was weaponless, clearly taken back by why there was another him approaching them. He turned to Rina with an expression of confusion, waiting to hear if she had any clarity on what was going on.
Following several beats of decision making for Rina, several gunshots echoed across the clifftop. The Shiro that was nearest stumbled to the ground, coughing up blood, eyes peering up to his assaulter. The raven haired soldier, slowly approaching the two of them, blinked; diamond blue turning into a golden yellow. A wicked grin followed, as the man transformed into an amber shelled demon with bright purple tendrils emerged from the back.
did you think you could deceive us, child… and we’d let you both walk away…
What would be a bright white normally on the helm; it was now a neon violet. Fear turned his aim towards Rina. “Time to give what is ours’, Rina; or forever pay the price,” the words emitted from the helm, not just the heartless’, but also a woman’s. “Complete us…”
Crackling sparks of blue emitted from Shiro’s palms. Knowing what was about to happen, Shiro’s blood shot eyes bounced around, looking for cover. His eyes connected with the door that stood yards away from the two. With everything that was happening, it couldn’t all be real; but he had a feeling in his gut that the door was the key.
“Rina…” he tried to get the words out. “We… We need to get you to the door.” The once bright yellow sun shifted into magenta, casting an insidious shade across the sky.
Fear shot several lethal bullets at Rina, hoping to leave both of them wounded and helpless.
At the sound of the guns firing, the wounded soldier raised his sparking blue hand at the noise, manipulating the momentum of the bullets aimed at Rina to be slower and dodgeable, which resulted in Fear firing another couple of rounds at the gravity manipulator.

Rina was numb. She felt absolutely nothing. The scene she had just witnessed had her rattled to the bone and would affect the woman for a long time onward. Now that the scene had changed once again Rina was in an unfamiliar place. So one of Shiro's memories then. She tracked a seagull as it flew overhead, talking careful steps to the edge of the crag they were standing down. As her toes scuffed over the edge, pebbles fell down into the ocean below.
She could hear Shiro attempting to console her but how could he? Rina had seen a moment that she had always wanted to see but now that she had…she would never be able to rid that moment from her mind. The blood, the life leaving her mother's eyes. Rina peered over the cliff watching the waters churn at the bottom. Go down, go down, go down. One slip of her foot and maybe she would fall. Maybe that would make this all go away, she could finally be with her mother and would no longer be tortured by this life.
Before the intrusive thoughts could go any further she heard a voice calling her name. Turning around, she could see another Shiro! One that was in a much better condition than her companion. One that made her heart flutter in her chest. "Get away from him!"
This new Shiro had a gun drawn and pointed at his double. Even though one had his hands up in weaponless surrender, the other did not relent. Rina looked on in confusion, a sharp pain going through her head. She couldn't take this any more. Too much, too quickly. Too much to process. She glanced from the twins in front of her, back to the ocean behind her. From the ocean to the grizzled door just a little more uphill. She needed to get out of here before she completely lost her mind to this madness.
"H-hey!" Rina screamed and the sound of gunshots spurred her into action. She went to put herself in between the Shiros but it was too late. The Shiro that had been with her had been shot, blood spreading across his clothes, coming from his lips. She spread her arms out trying to shield him with her body as best as she could. The new Shiro stalked closer, eyes changing to yellow, body being covered with Fear's armor.
did you think you could deceive us, child… and we’d let you both walk away…
Deceive? Ah. Fear had caught on to Rina's secret. Or maybe her Darkness had told him. "When did you know?" Much as he could try to take and take, Rina's Darkness was her own. He could have only a taste of Her as long as Rina was alive. Her Darkness seemed to be taking well to Fear wrapping herself around him, bolstering his power. He pointed the gun at her now.
"Time to give what is ours’, Rina; or forever pay the price,” “Complete us…”
This wasn’t the first time that Rina had been on the other end of a gun barrel and like before she was unafraid. If this was just a dream then nothing could truly harm her. Right? The sky began to darken, the wind picking up much like how it had been in the last memory.
“Rina…” “We… We need to get you to the door.”
Rina nodded and wrapped her arms around Shiro’s waist, hoisting him up as best as she could. “Come on soldier, I’m not leaving you behind.” Starting to scuffle towards the door, she was stopped by more gunshots. She turned in time to see her companion slow the bullets enough for them to be harmless but he did not account for the additional bullets shot. Rina pushed Shiro forward towards the door, taking the two shots, one in the hip, one in the shoulder.
With a yelp she sprawled out into the rocks landing beside Shiro. Groaning she continued to fight towards the door.

CHANGE IS NON-EXISTENT WITHOUT ACTION. [OOC note: Recommended to read a little slow and play “Through the Darkness” by Audiomachine]
“Rina!” Shiro grunted as he was shoved outside of harm’s way, struggling to regain his feet as she took the shots in his place. The inner workings of the soldier’s brain felt as if they were rewired instantly. Confusion was no longer a factor; only anger remained against the mysterious assailant. He raised his hand at the yellow creature and shot a beam of redirected energy; from the prior bullet wounds. It wasn’t just a dream anymore; a woman, whom he had never met before, put her life on the line for him. Regardless of the circumstances, Blackout would have to be put down before she could be harmed again. Mustering up all his strength, he took a hold of Rina and threw the rest of the magical energy that he had in him to manipulate them off the ground, into the air, at swift speed- aiming their landing right next to the door. They both crashed into the ground together, rolling around like rag dolls- Shiro trying to alter their momentum so that he took the brute of the force. Once their motion died out, the soldier released Rina from his grasp, flipping over in exhaustion, trying to catch his breath. There was no time to relax; he needed to get to the door.—-Purple tendrils stretched around Fear at the sign of the vibrant blue blast, holding back the energy from damaging the heartless. The yellow demon winced as he felt the tendrils shatter. They’d start to grow back, but it was painful nonetheless. The connection between the heartless and the darkness; it was strong. It felt like victory was about to be within their grasps. The soldier and the girl were just puppets to be used. Once the heartless could see again, their two victims had vanished. they’ve made it to the door…Fear could hear her thoughts coincide with his. The heartless let out a disgruntled groan beneath the helm, immediately taking into a full sprint to get up the hill. The darkness from her helped the demon reach a rapid speed. As the heartless reached the top of the hill, it could see his two targets opening the door.Pushing the door open, Shiro gestured towards Rina. “You first!” Once she was through the door, the soldier attempted to follow through, but felt like he was trying to walk into a force field of some sort. Was this real? Was he just part of the dream? The intellect’s brain was running rampid, but shifted back to focus on what was important- Rina’s safety. “It’s okay, if I can’t get through; maybe he can’t either. Shut it to be sure.”no… no… no…In a panic, he lunged at the closest one to him, firing several shots into their back upon tackling them. Quickly standing up, new purple tendrils erupted from his back in on the woman, only for the glass door to slam on them; shattering them once again. That was not ideal. The heartless fell to his knees, feeling the tether between his union was dissipating as moments passed.Coughing up dark blood amongst the rocky terrain, Shiro smiled as he lay flat, bleeding out. “Thank you,” he whispered as his eyes shut, his fate feeling unknown; but he appreciated everything that Rina did for him nonetheless. —Rain started to pour on his helm, the heartless veered out of his white visors to readjust to reality. Shrugging off Rina, the demon felt accomplished. Blackout was beaten and locked up deep within. The vessel was his; he didn’t feel any opposition as he moved- the wheel was all his. The amber shelled man turned to Rina, feeling the pain of not being with her anymore.Maybe it was too good to be true for the two to be together; maybe if he terminated Rina, the darkness within would be released back to him. Regardless, the girl knew too much of his inner workings and couldn’t allow for her to exist a second longer. Whipping out his two pistols, he pointed Mercy and Valor at the woman. “Thank you, child,” the heartless spoke somberly beneath, knowing what had to be done wasn’t pleasant. “I will remember her always.”

Rina gasped as the air was knocked out of her when she hit the ground. Her entire body felt beaten, the places she had been shot were blazing and throbbing. She wished to just lay there but knew that if she did she would not make it off of this cliff top.
Luckily for her Shiro was going to give her the opportunity to stay. He opened the old door for her and motioned for her to go through. She went like it was a magnet drawing her in but grabbed Shiro's hand before stepping over the threshold. She waited for him to follow but he wasn't able to pass through. "No! You can't stay! No!" Rina continued to grab and pull at him but her hands were going through him like when she had first encountered him. The nightmare was lifting.
Rina's hands were on the outside of the door, ready to close it as commanded but she couldn't move her eyes from Shiro. She couldn't bear to leave him to his fate but there was nothing she could do. Her eyes were wide with horror as she watched Fear strike him down and fix his eyes on her. With an angry yell she slammed the door shut and watched as the windows cracked before the door itself disappeared. She turned to see Fear wrapped in his cocoon but it was cracked and failing as well.
He spoke softly to her, apologizing for his deeds but Rina wasn't sure if he was being sincere or not. However, she knew that what she felt was sincere and she held her hands up, her body thrumming with emotion.
"Wait…"
Rina closed the distance slowly between the two. Shuddering from her ordeal, the pain she could still feel in her body, Rina stood in front of the Heartless' guns.
Hoping to act on the element of surprise or die for her attempt, Rina reached out to place her hand on Fear's chest. Pushing Darkness through her fingertips she leaned in close to whisper to Fear. "She's not quite ready to say goodbye…she wants to say goodbye." Pressing as close as she thought she was able to, wrapping her arms around his neck, Rina pressed her lips softly to Fear's. She was sincere as she said against his lips, "Thank you…"
Rina placed her palms against his back and hissed into his ear. " I banish thee Darkness, I welcome the Goddess' Light, fill me with strength, to end his plight!" Rina pushed as much Light magic as she could muster into Fear's body before clutching him tight. She kissed his forehead their tiny dark corner lighting up like the day.
"Find me…Shiro!!"

CHANGE IS NON-EXISTENT WITHOUT ACTION. The heartless was confused; did her darkness make it through as he? Maybe she was able to defeat the child on the other side of the door after all. Once her hand touched his chest, the demon could feel the euphoric rush that he had already longed for. The helm retracted, revealing the face of Blackout with bright yellow eyes. He leaned in to unite once more with the alluring darkness. “At last, it’s over…” The two faded back into the empty void, the stained glass glass nearby. Eyeing the restful door, the possessed man grinned at the silence, feeling the satisfaction that he put an end to the soldier’s will. Turning his attention back to his new passion, the smile on his face dropped to see it wasn’t the darkness that awaited him. no, it can’t be…Her words rung through his head just as he would to theirs. In the distance, an explosion of light could be seen as if it was a nuclear bomb; the light rapidly approaching the dark corner of Blackout’s mind. “You know he’ll be an empty husk… He’s not…”shiro. The golden eyes widened at the name, “What are you doing!?” Fear yelled in panic. Shiro. The name echoed across the void as light narrowed in on the two. The door started to rumble as if they were just hit with an earthquake. Immediately, the end of Gravios pierced the door, sending shivers down whatever Fear would consider a spine. Shiro! His whole world was turned upside down; the demon scrambled to the door to stop the soldier from freeing himself entirely. The door started to push open, revealing a blinding light from the otherside. The heartless slammed itself into the door, leaving it at only a crack. Back pressed against the door, Fear shouted at Rina, “You don’t know what you’ve done!”The light was going to hit them in a mere moment. At that point, Fear had accepted the outcome; his gamble did not pay off. He could only help keep the door shut as much as possible; he chuckled, understanding his undoing was entirely on him. He had asked for too much, letting the child enter the other side to no avail. The heartless felt everything slipping away; he’d regrow, but maybe he’d never have the opportunity again. There was doubt that his host would survive long enough. If it was his last attempt at total takeover, Fear was going to have the last word. Just as the light was about to take them both, he stared at Rina with a disappointed expression, leaving with a genuine statement; “I guess we both lose.”
—- Blackout’s diamond eyes flickered open amongst the dark streets of Traverse Town, connecting with Rina’s gaze as the rain started to downpour. “Rina…” her name escaped his lips, memories of everything that had occurred slowly flowing into his consciousness. The man embraced her, his arms wrapped around her back in a secure and comforting squeeze, his forehead pressed against the bangs on hers. A couple tears slid down his cheek. There was so much to say; so much to process. Two words needed to be said to her with the utmost urgency. “Thank you…” At that moment, he couldn’t feel the darkness anymore. It was a resounding silence amongst his thoughts; Fear’s influence could be felt no more. There was just the overflowing of everything that had occurred; he didn’t know where to begin. They were victorious at a cost; he wanted to celebrate, but all he desired was to drink and forget; and Shiro had only read about drinking. It was difficult to proceed, because his mind was racing with a thousand thoughts a minute; most of them composed of how leaving Rina’s warmth, within the awful downpour, ate at his heart. His hand traveled up from her side to her shoulder, feeling the damp fabric of his hood. As impossible as he thought it was to do, the soldier let a gentle chuckle escape. “You fixed my hood,” he softly spoke as the same hand rose to her face to wipe the tears of hers that stood out from rain drops. Fear was gone and her darkness was quelled, but he felt as drawn to her as he did the last time they stood so close to one another. They were dangerous for each other; he had a sinking feeling that they weren’t in the clear. Their darknesses needed to be separated; it was too much of a risk for… Shiro was thinking too much at a time he didn’t want to. The raven haired man could only hope that Rina felt the same way. Hand pressed gently against her cheek, his heart raced faster and faster as he leaned in slowly, pressing his lips softly into hers at first, folding one over the other. Wild tremors of euphoria flooded his brain as they kissed; not just to forget, not just to heal, but to follow through with every notion that echoed through his body and soul, that they were fated to be with each other then and now. they call me to the light forever lost inside MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Rina's heart was pounding inside her chest. Her fingers fluttered over Shiro's chest. Finally, Shiro was here. With her. After yearning for so long and going through so much in this one night, Rina was able to collect her reward. They were both safe. Finally together. For now. How long would this last? Could it last? Rina tried to push these thoughts away, focusing instead in happiness glinting in Shiro's blue eyes. Blue, not gold. There was a warmth inside her that even the cold rain could not extinguish. Finally.
A blush stained her checks as she let out a nervous laugh mixed with a sob as Shiro tugged gently on the repaired hood. She bashfully shrugged her shoulders. "Always carried it with me. Just in case we bumped into each other." She smiled slightly. A small fib. She took the hoodie everywhere indeed but wore it often as well. It made her feel protected. Rina's face screwed up with tears.
"I'm sorry! I should have went after you that night. I should have looked for you and made you stay. I almost ran out to find you...I just didn't know...I didn't know what to d-!"
Shiro ended her sentence by pressing his lips over hers. Rina whimpered into the kiss. A proper kiss, a real kiss. One not being forced but freely given. She deepened the kiss then, pressing closer into Shiro's body, threading her fingers into the hair at his neck. More, she thought. I want to give him more.
It was then that thunder boomed and lightning cracked around them. Rina gasped and jumped slightly before resting her face into his neck. Trying not to sound so breathless. "We need to get out of this storm. Find some warm clothes..."
We need to talk.

CHANGE IS NON-EXISTENT WITHOUT ACTION. Thunder shook the heavens, bringing an end to their moment. As their lips departed and she nuzzled her head into his neck, Shiro couldn’t help starting to digest all what had happened; all had been said. He appreciated her concern over their last encounter, but there was a reason why it had to end that way. They were dangerous for each other, but they also constantly chose to save the other. It was a conundrum that the analytic couldn’t shake. Taking things slow and talking things out could be beneficial for the pair; they needed to process. Another applause of thunder hit the skys, followed by a gust of wind that sent a slight chill down the soldier’s skin. Blackout nodded in agreement with Rina; it was best to retire for the night, “Ofcourse.”The two strolled at a brisk pace throughout the district, looking for a hotel with vacancy. Not much was said as the two traversed besides discussing their arrangements. Rina had planned on finishing trading and traveling back home, but decided it was too late in the night to even consider piloting a gummi ship. Traverse Town was Shiro’s home, but he didn’t have a permanent place to stay. Doing odd jobs during the day to help with the community and pay for motel rooms; while at night, he’d spend the majority of his time keeping a watchful eye for crime. Now, his priority was to get Rina somewhere safe. His motel room, at that time, was in a shady part of the second district; quite purposeful to save money and be on guard for cries of help. Every step they took, the soldier wanted to bring up one of the multiple events that took place that night, but struggled at where to start. He’d get flashes of the torture that he had endured on, what must have been, his homeworld. It was all so vivid; and he couldn’t help but feel Rina felt the same way about her mother. His heart sank just pondering about it. They ended up at the Nightwolf Inn. Shiro had helped the innkeeper's son with a smelting job a couple days prior, so he had cashed in his favor to get Rina a vacant room to retire for the night. The innkeeper kept a cozy atmosphere, with a budget friendly bar attached at the hip, providing a constant white noise of displaced individuals sharing their woes with others. It was probably overkill, but he walked the woman to her room; not realizing he had a difficult time saying goodbye after all they had been through. “Well, Rina, you know how to show me a good time as always,” he let out with a chuckle; partly true, but also making light out of their critical events. “I don’t know about you, but I feel I need time to think everything through. I just don’t know where we’d even start.”Shiro took Rina’s hand and gave it a gentle squeeze, his next words inspired by the awkward confusion on how to even end a night like they had. All he felt was that it was dangerous for him to be around her, given she could have nearly been swept into a never ending darkness thanks to him. “Goodnight, Rina,” he spoke softly as he let go and started to pace his way down the hall, retaining eye contact with Rina for several moments before turning his attention to the direction he was departing to. with every dream we find we feed, we burn, we lie MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS
