Shiro - A mess of articulate decision making, painful viewings of others, and the sympathy of a mother fawn; Shiro is a complicated individual. Shiro prefers to think through his impulses and decisions before acting on them. It is the Utuago way to come out of a situation in the most efficient way. However, Shiro Utuago is a man of passion. This aspect of him clashes with the other, but Shiro tries his best to find balance between the two. Justice, loyalty, and civility circulate through his heart as those three aspects are what the man holds dear. Those are just summaries of the trees; as there are many things that are attached to his heart strings, down the branches of those three importances; such as family, innocence, and if he were to ever - love.
Shiro Utuago is a knowledge seeker. He was born with a natural curiosity of things. When somewhere new, often his goal is to study his surroundings, involving the lore and the things that simply didn’t matter; where their importance would be highlighted only if he were to get quizzed, as Shiro hates being wrong.
Blackout - Mercy is only for the deserving. Blackout is the most loyal soldier created; will not sway his allegiance until complete betrayal. Earning his loyalty is not the most easy task however; as the reward has to match the challenge. Blackout is straight to the point with most. Blackout isn’t a person to waither his decision once made; as he is very strong headed with his viewings, however he is always open to hearing the viewings of others to compare. Blackout understands that there is more than one way to think. Although seeming untouchable, Blackout has a soft spot for the innocent. Blackout will pull a trigger on a man if he has to, but will make their death painless as that’s what they deserve.
Fear - Fear is the dark side of Shiro ‘Blackout’ Utuago. Also the name of his heartless, it is the darkest part of Shiro’s soul. This part of him makes Shiro strive to deliver pain to the deserving, death to the wicked, and torture to the despicable. The “tic for tac” ideology is enhanced when Fear is hiding the Utuago face; Fear will be the judge, the jury, and the executioner to the guilty.
History:
Born into a loving family, Shiro Utuago learned the basics of nurturing and hospitality. His parents were where, the soon-to-be devoted soldier, learned the meaning of “empathy”. With the love that he had received, the child devoted himself to make his parents more and more proud of him. His family was where his full loyalty laid. Then his sister came along. Four years after birth, his mother became pregnant. Everything seemed too great. Shiro was finally going to have a sister! Though, things weren’t as great as it seemed. Seriah Leli-Utuago died at childbirth, but the delivery was successful. He loved his sister to death, he did, but he’d always be reminded of his mother’s death whenever he’d look into her eyes. It was just emotional baggage, but his sister’s qualities made up for it. The Utuago son wasn’t a happy child anymore after the death of his mother. He still loved his family greatly, but that smile he had whenever he recognized what was for breakfast showed no more. There was an absence in his life that couldn’t be replaced.Physical Description:
When Shiro was five years old, the father had his son signed up for a self-defense program, that was targeted towards children. Chapleris wasn’t in power to stop his wife’s death, but he wanted to make sure that when his eldest could have power, that his boy would have it and use it. The Utuagos did not want to see anymore death in the family.
Life went on. At the age of fourteen, Shiro had a rough time at school. He was the studious one, but any bully who tried to mess with him ended up in the nurse’s office. This lead to too many visits at the administrator office with his father until it was just too much. The boy was expelled. Chapleris was disappointed and understood the situation. The son of Chapleris Utuago defended himself. Chapleris wasn’t the smartest guy in town, but knew enough to pass academy, so he took it upon himself to home school his boy. During parts of the day, Chapleris would take his son to the mines, where he worked. At the city of Marial, mining was an extremely dangerous job. With masses of land floating and spinning slowly, gravity magic was a necessity. So Chapleris taught his son the basics of gravity magic. Shiro built a device, a metallic functional glove, that Chapleris enhanced with the complexity of gravity, allowing Shiro to manipulate his own gravity and others’ around him to an extent. Chapleris even taught his son to use the very basic of void magic that was infused with the glove, which was used to transport unnecessary material to some random place in the universe. Chapleris told his boy never to go into them as voids had no sense of direction, and one could find themselves in a very foreign place if sucked in.
At the age of sixteen, Shiro’s self-defense and gravity manipulation interested the government once a representative scavenged through his school records, so the teenager was recruited. Being the youngest and tiniest soldier, the boy was beaten to a fairly severe degree, which lead to multiple visits at home to recover. Trained to use guns and knives, Shiro Utuago was the most dangerous teenager around, well, out of teenagers that resided in his homeworld. At the age of twenty, they had the man performing difficult missions with the most elite soldiers of Marial. Given the dog tag with the codename “Blackout”, the name quickly became well known throughout the government. The government’s interest with the raven haired man increased, subjecting him to a secret program known as the “Duplicate”. Lancour and Marial were in a cold war at the time, and the word of a substance known as “Demon Blood” trickled down the grapevine. The government of Marial’s intention was to steal the serum. They needed a tank to infiltrate the city and saw Shiro as the perfect subject. Marial scientists had developed a mechanical room that harnessed the power of the magic, Curaga. Subjecting Blackout to numerous sentences of pain for petty crimes such as holding saving a child on a higher priority than the mission, a mere mask to cover their true intention to make the man’s system stronger. These pain enduring sentences included acidic gas, burning all the skin off the man before being healed by the power of Curaga. That wasn’t even the worst of it. Shiro’s chemical make-up began to change; the government simply observed as the Utuago man’s skin became a mirror; a bomb. The acidic gas would lighten up the man’s body as it dissolved the skin, letting out charges of energy, breaking protection between the observers and the experiment. A couple of men died at the first incident and increased the interest in continuing testing. However, some damage had to be repaired, therefore they sent the boy home severely handicapped. A great soldier he was, but he was not ready to take the emotional toll that was about to come. In a wheelchair, the man struggled around the house, but was always helped by his father. As his father was preparing a dinner for him and Kayta one night, a terrible tragedy happened. An unknown figure, to them, broke into the house. Little did they know that the word spread about the duplicate, grabbing Lancour’s interest. An assassin was sent to kill Shiro Utuago, as at that point in time, Marial was impossible to reach a diplomatic solution with. The unknown figure pulled out a gun and fired at Shiro, but the bullet was intercepted by a hero, Chapleris Utuago. Chapleris Utuago died that night. The weak Blackout, in rage, manifested the gravitation in the room and pierced the assassin’s body with all the kitchenware. Kayta arrived at the house and was shocked to see what had happened and started to mourn with her brother.
Time had passed and the pain had barely faded away. After hearing his father’s will, Blackout found out that his father had given him Gravios, the sword his father had kept placed in a trophy cabinet. Recovering after intense physical therapy, Shiro Utuago took up Gravios and learned the way of the sword in honor of his father. He even trained his sister, Kayta, to use his glove and guns, so his sister could defend herself if something ever were to happen where she would need to defend herself. Eventually, the soldier was called back into the fray. Improved upon, Shiro’s guinea pig pen was engineered to adjust and even encourage the chemical unbalance within the man’s skin cells, increasing the rapidity of the energy that would flow through his molecules. With the affected individual within Marial’s hands, they could obtain the demon blood with force.
After two months of further experimentation, involving excruciating torture, Marial decided to roll the dice. The move was extremely bold and it would definitely cause chaos amongst the world. Although, Marial had a selfish group of individuals in charge and they weren’t about to let the public reaction get in the way. On a universal holiday’s night, where most families were taking the day off and spending time with one another, Marial struck. It was deemed unethical by future storytellers. Marial’s jets flew in over the known force field above Lancour that would evaporate metal, as hard as that is to believe. As seven o’clock dinged, Blackout was dropped from a jet and submerged through the rushing winds and through the forcefield. A large explosion occurred, big enough to combust the jet that had dropped the soldier, powerful enough to wipe out the power of Lancour. Marial then descended upon Lancour, that had been enveloped in anarchy.
Long story short, Lancour was temporarily defeated. Marial had gain possession of Vera, the "Original", with the help of a gravely injured soldier, Blackout. Yes, the soldier’s body had become a mirror of energetic forces after the numerous times his body has been tampered with. While still recovering from a coma, the government sicked the scientists at the extremely wounded Vera and almost-dead Shiro. The plan was to create the strongest entity of the world, the title belonging to Vera at the time. To bring Shiro to Vera’s level and past it, they’d need the demon blood that resided within the girl. Strapped to machines, it took a couple of days to complete the fusion. However, what was days seemed like years to the two who were dreaming, escaping the harsh reality that the two lived in. There, in the dream, they met and a bond was formed. They had gotten to known each other, understand one another, and care for one another, although neither of them could recognize it. Shiro laughed for the first time in centuries within the link. Alas, as the “months” went by for the two, Vera had became weaker. Shiro nursed Vera, holding her weak figure when she couldn’t walk in the mirage. Outside of the two’s link was a lab in chaos. Scientists struggling to keep the both of them alive, and then ending was the conclusion that they were going to sacrifice Vera to make Shiro not only survive, but stronger. The plan did not end as desired.
Suddenly, an agent of Lancour, Shira burst through the lab’s doors covered in blood, clearly not of her own. Wounding all who had attempted to stop her, Shira ended the connection between the two struggling souls, which “awoke” Vera. The reason “awoke” was quoted was because she was barely awake. Vera was dying of blood loss. To save her fellow experiment, Shira was going to do it in the only way she knew how. She was going to gut Shiro for his blood to save Vera. The words of “Don’t, please” could barely leave Vera’s lips and was not heard. Before she could strike Shiro with her scythe, Shiro woke and immediately tackled Shira, knocking the scythe out of her hands and relentlessly beat on Shira in the face with demon blood running through his veins, the strength of his blows creating dents in the metal beneath Shira’s skull. Shiro lead up though before he could seriously disfigure the woman’s face. At the woozy point that happened before unconsciousness, Shira fled with a damaged face. Shiro’s mind was not there to notice at the time. With his awakening beginning in rage, it quickly turned to worry as Vera was dying before him. With Shiro’s studious mind, Shiro completed a blood transfusion by himself, leaving the two of them half drained.
Marial had recovered, but Lancour showed no signs of fighting back after the incident. Maybe that was Lancour’s intent. K.A.R.M.A. traced the blood from Shiro’s fists to his only blood relative remaining, Kayta. Kayta is kidnapped with ease, as the government of Marial had poor protection for it’s citizens. A video was hacked through Marial’s lab’s wifi, and the government did not get a video transmission from a higher authority. What was received was an alarming video of Shira’s figure, however she wore a mask to cover her presumably disfigured face, holding a knife to Kayta’s throat, demanding that Vera is turned over to K.A.R.M.A. at once. The video was broadcasted so that all would see, even Vera and Shiro, whom both were incredibly weak. After numerous discussions, Marial had decided to not make the exchange. After a couple of days had passed, Shiro assumed correctly that they were not going to save his sister’s life. With the help of a good hearted government agent gone rogue, Shiro and Vera escaped the facility together.
The only way known to travel to Lancour on foot was scaling a gigantic mountain in between Lancour and Marial and make the journey through the perilous caves. After a long game of cat and mouse, the duo couldn’t evade the government anymore at one of the entrances to the caves. Marial’s best agents were sent in as a squad to retrieve the two weakened experiments. Everyone within the caves were able to overcome the obstacles and dangers that the caves had presented, even the weakened duo. However, one of the caves’ threats had injured Vera’s leg, so the two had been caught up to upon the final stretch. Sacrificing himself, Shiro shot at a couple of cracks to cause a barricade between the two souls, Vera on the side of Lancour and Shiro at the side of the A-Team. Captured, Shiro thought that they’d continue to torture him, but he was ever so wrong. Constrained entirely immediately after his arrest, Shiro was bound to the white table of dread that would change his life. Submitted Shiro into a deep sleep, scientists opened the head of Blackout (literally or metaphorically, the process simply unexplainable; process up to the reader) and inserted a mental barrier, separating the memories of his past from everything else. With rumors down the grapevine that K.A.R.M.A. had begun a new development with Vera, unknown to Marial that it was AuraTech, they awoke Shiro and gave him no word of his former existence, only that he was a soldier deadly to all known as Blackout. Equipped with his usual gear once again, they sent in Shiro to Lancour with only one objective; eliminate the subject known as Vera.
Fully recovered, Blackout was an animal. His combat was flawless and devastating, which resulted in many deaths. The chaos upon the world had finally gained the attention of the darkness; it was the end of their world. Heartless invaded. The next hour would contain the final moments of the world.
In the final confrontation, Shiro held her scythe to Kayta’s throat as she tried to get Blackout to stand down. Kayta cried out her brother’s name in tears, but it came off to Blackout as an eerie ring that hurt tremendously. To silence the pain, Blackout fired three shots into his sister and Shira, one at their stomachs aligned with one another, and one into each of their heads after there was a good amount of space between the two. Two bodies dropped. There was no remorse, but only confusion on why Shira had thought that her hostage situation would influence the soldier to stand down. At the shock of the event, Vera’s head scientist, Ayama Cifer, had bolted out of the room and to where they held Vera. Blackout darted after her, with a single shadow of color following them. Within the certain distance required, Ayama triggered the AuraTech to end Shiro once and for all. Vera’s aura started to expand and leave her body, so powerful where it incinerated anything within it. The scientist behind Vera’s doing had met her demise to her creation. Blackout halted at the sight, but upon recognizing Vera, he marched into the expanding violet sphere that was Vera’s aura. Blackout’s skin melted off, his muscles rapidly degrading as he closed the distance between the two. At the sight of the duplicate being torn to bits, Vera started to tear up.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t want this to happen to you; please don’t die! I think I lo-”
~ Vera
Before she could finish her words, a figure enveloped in a blinding white glow had pierced a sword through the heart of Vera, her confession ending with blood erupting from the mouth, but being disintegrated before the red could even be seen. Blackout had murdered the experiment that he cared for, and he didn’t even blink an eye. He didn’t know - only Vera did - that they loved each other.
Behind the sole glowing survivor, an unknown heartless crept up and pounced as the aura faded, only for the whole building to be obliterated by the energy that was contained within Blackout. Then the world faded into darkness.
The next thing the soldier knew was that he was lying in the streets of Traverse Town with no memory of what had happened, who he was, or where he came from. Not that the memories were blocked like the previous ones, but being inside any catastrophic explosion would sure mess up anyone’s noggin. All that the man could hear were whispers of a voice within his head. Unknown to Blackout, when the heartless was caught in the explosion with the soldier, the heartless fused with the particles of the blood within his exposed deteriorating shell of a body at the time. With the heartless flowing within his veins, a heartless insignia rested on his back like a tattoo, where the heartless had struck him as they were “obliterated”.
What Blackout had remembered first was not of his own, but the memories of the heartless that resided within him. They ran through them, and just like any empty bottle, there was no resistance in accepting the breaching memories. Blackout was still human, however, and still had a soul; humanity and morals mixed with the heartless’s memories and lust for the heart. Regarding a name, the only thing Blackout had was his dog tag; Shiro was completely nonexistent like before. Blackout felt like he understood the darkness within more and more throughout his adventures with it. Blackout was a rogue soldier evaluating the world like a newborn, and found himself finding his inner self. However, not recognizing his own face, the heartless eventually was powerful enough to erupt from his veins via the tattoo and cover the man in a steel-like yellow shell, hiding Blackout’s face to the world. Blackout felt more confident within the shell, as it enhanced his abilities and made him a symbol. Due to his morality, he became known as the local legend “The Yellow Demon”, and in a positive light, believe it or not. Blackout saved people; not from heartless however. From criminals, from bandits, from invaders; Blackout fought for the citizens of Traverse Town against evil, not the darkness. The soldier had finally came to terms with his beliefs. Heartless were not evil; they were nature. Darkness and light could not live without the other, so why eliminate one? The heartless shared all factual details regarding the keybladers; and them, whom were known as heroes to a massive majority, came off to Blackout as butchers. Of course, this was what the sentient heartless, Fear, desired. The parasitic heartless seeked the empty shell that radiated with power and that's what drew the invading heartless to him. It was only a matter of time before Fear would influence every decision made.

Picture one of the darker nights that Traverse Town has seen; people of the world closed up in their hotel rooms, their townhouses, staying safe from the monstrosities that crept around on the streets. And as life has dictated, there was an unfortunate few that, despite their best efforts, couldn’t escape the darkness. A couple of poundings on the door came before the blast, with shouting from the outside that was inaudible as all the words of the outside source were slurred together in one drunken mess. It then came, the door being completely separated from the frame and was sent flying into the nearest wall. Two men, one fat and one thin, emerged from the dust; one armed with a canon and the other with a shiv. Both red eyed, one had a wicked grin; they were looking for trouble. The duo approached a shivering family, including two men and a daughter. The older one of the couple, protecting the girl, spoke up and pleaded, “P-please don’t hurt us! We already have the heartless against us.. Please, see reason!”
The grinning slender man, with a crazy eye, jumped forward and responded to that with his shiv slicing a thick cut against the throat of the man protecting his family. “I-I’m a little blind to reason,” he said with a chuckle as the partner of the murdered man shielded the girl in tears. The two weeping family members were praying for the light, as they were surrounded by two psychopaths embracing the darkness. However, little did they know that the darkness was their answer. Just as the shiv bearing man was about to stab the meat shield in front of the little girl, the shiv flew right out of the crazy guy’s hands, slicing a bit of his arm in the process, and landed in a nearby corner. That grabbed both of the intruders’ attentions, the canon wielding one shooting a blast at the darkest bit of the room. “It’s the fucking shadow!”
”I’m not just a shadow, I am what’s caught up to you,” a malfested voice echoed throughout the room as the cannonball reversed its direction and knocked the shooter to the ground, forcing him to drop the weapon. Leaping from the darkness, a yellow helmeted man landed on the intruder’s fallen body, making sure that his combat booted foot landed on firer’s jaw. The soldier that had revealed himself made sure that there was enough gravity applied to snap the assaulter’s neck, and it did with a snap. Upon that uncomfortable sound, the brown jacketed rescuer forced the crazy stabber into a wall with the manipulation of gravity.
“The demon-,” the intruder choked out as he got slammed against the brick wall with a thud. The heartless insignia sparkled, it appeared, as the moonlight shined down on the golden helmet from a glass window. With both targets incapable of doing anything, the soldier studied his surroundings. The darkness had not been sensed early enough, as an innocent man laid dead on the floor, blood soaking the carpet. The assumed deceased’s partner was trembling with fear, protecting the girl that must have been their daughter. All Blackout could think about for the moment of how traumatized the girl could be after seeing her father murdered at such a young age. It was a shame, but that was the life that they all lived, unfortunate situation after situation. Blackout was not going to allow the girl to be traumatized by the actions he’d commit against the murderer. Walking into a nearby room, the soldier grabbed a blanket and tossed it at the two innocents as he rushed back; covering the two’s vision. Before the blanket collapsed over them, a small sign of confidence was sensed within the partner, as he knew that justice would be served. Blackout’s name was unknown to many; it was the yellow demon that had the reputation in Traverse Town to deliver the evil into its final resting place.
Forming a long silver sword, Gravios, from the darkness, Blackout stabbed the glass window and immediately manipulated the pieces of glass to start hovering over the shaken murderer. After a focused couple of seconds, the glass shards dove and mutilated the man’s body, cut him up pretty well, and finally piercing the man’s two orbs that were his deluded eyes. Screams of agony was heard throughout the whole entire building, but it was silenced as Blackout manipulated the damaged man’s body to fly out the window. They were on a three story floor; and Blackout wanted to make sure that there was no chance of survival.
”I’m sorry,” the man in yellow spoke to the ones covered in the blanket before jumping out the window. The yellow demon took no pride in it; he just knew that messages had to be sent to those that were thinking about crossing the line between good and evil.
