The whole city was in complete chaos. Night has fallen over the city of Paris and like every night, the heartless would sneak through the streets, looking for a new prey to feed on. The guards were constantly on duty these days and the people were shaken to their core. Many of them went to the church daily, asking god for forgiveness for their sins and praying for him to protect them from the black devils. However, their wish for protection could not be answered... This night, the number of the heartless has grown bigger and an other hunt had joined their ranks, smelling an easy meal.
The whole city was gripped by fear and what better place to get a good taste of darkness for Zaymus than there! He had been taken some of his brethren with him to this world to offer them a nice place to hunt themselves. He had watched their work for some time, deciding as night fell that he too could get a piece of the fun himself! He had been hunting down poor salesman and a few lost souls that didn't manage to get off the street in time. It seemed his way of eating them was so greatly performed, that the people gave him a name! They called him 'Devil's Gargoyle'. OH, how nice of them! He loved that nickname!
When he was not hunting in the dark, he was sitting up on the tower of Notre Dame, watching everything go down in the streets from up there with a big grin on his deformed human face. “Ah, what a great night. This view is quiet pleasant, don't you think so too?”
He wiggled with his legs hanging over the edge of the tower, his eyes wondering to his side were a small heartless was sitting, looking around quietly. Zaymus laughed like the heartless had just told him a great joke.. which he didn't. He didn't say anything, to be precise.
“HAH, you said it! The screams of agony and fear that echo through the streets are the best musical-acts I have ever heard! I have been to some Hunting-events, but this one is the best so far. I mean, look at them!”
He grabbed his little buddy and turned it's head so it's eyes would be focused on the people in the streets, running around with torches and swords, trying to get these monsters to leave their holy city.
“They really think that PRAYING will solve their problems! HAH! What a bunch of idiots.”
Zaymus patted his little friend before he stood up, stretching a little, flexing his claws and seeming to check them for any dirt that could stain them.
“If this keeps up, the world will be devoured by darkness in a matter of days. We should hurry up, or we will only get some leftovers. And that's not how we want this to go today now, do we, Liam?”
The heartless, again, just stared into empty space, tilting his head with his antennas moving.
“You know that I am such a picky eater.”

| Wishes and dreams I want to come true. The feelings I wish I could tell you. A miracle created from the things I've always believed is connected to the future. Always, always I want you to watch over me, my dear friend. |
● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside After Lightning's previous confrontation in the ancient city of bells the warrior had decided to make a change. In the stead of her armor she decided to approach the world in an outfit that did not stand out. A simple yellow jacket over top a black, skintight top with a matching skirt and boots of goldenrod and red tights. Her sword remained on her hip, but without the excessively obtrusive armor she would find herself walking through the streets with fewer eyes upon her form. But it seemed eyes did not have a chance to fall on her for where there was one Heartless there was bound to be more. The other Heartless she had faced perhaps escaped, or retreated to join the ranks of the others for as soon as she left the Sanctuary of the Church the world wandering heroine would find more terrorizing the innocent. And it was not something Lightning could really stand to watch. It was not her world to interfere, but this darkness seemed to be encroaching on many others she visited and if she ignored the plight of others before her it was only a matter of time until her own world was target.
It was why it was important to find out why the Gates were opening randomly as they were and a means to permanently close them to seal them off from these creatures.
"Hey you." Lightning called with as much fervor as she was wont to offer. She was not yet at a point where she needed to assert herself. Maybe she could talk it out with him. "How about you leave these people alone?" Lightning was just leaving the church so Zaymus, so high up, may spot the Valkyrie below, or perhaps amidst the crowds scurrying to find a place to hide, she was just another ant within the rabble.
But someone definitely called him out!

Zaymus was currently hanging from one of the gargoyle-statues like it was part of some playground for kids. He didn't seem to fear the height at any time as he was hanging with his head down from the statue, his legs keeping him from falling down. He was swinging around there a bit, his hair hanging down like a veil from his head, the creature humming a little song, as he listened to the screams of fear from the streets. “Ah, what a glorious day. Liam, fetch me some food, would you?”
The little heartless next to him just moved up it's antennas, his head turning slowly to look down, where some other heartless have gathered to search for a meal. It seems something had interrupted them in their hunt... someone, to be more specific. Zaymus raised an eyebrow, when a voice would reach his ears, both of them twitching for a moment. “Oh?”
He pulled himself up, sitting on the statue and looking down at the gate of the church, where a woman was now standing, facing the heartless that swarmed the plaza. The creature licked it's teeth, a grin forming on his face. “What is this? A guest?Someone trying to fight us?”, he giggled. “What did she say, Liam? We should leave the people alone?”, he asked the little creature next to him, the man tilting his head to the side, scratching his chin slightly. “Well, that doesn't sound like much fun... leave them alone.. but what am I gonna eat for dinner, than?”
He suddenly clapped his hands as an idea seemed to struck him, a big almost childish smile appearing on his face that seemed way to much for his deformed features, the heartless-side of his face, turning into more of a grimace torn from the hells. “Uh~! Do you smell that, brother? What a strong heart she has. We should introduce ourselves and eat her, like the polite creatures we are, hm? I am sure she tastes wonderful.” He raised his hand, the heartless at the plaza that already slowly started to swarm the woman, stopping in their movements. Zaymus started to wave from the top of the tower, like anyone could actually see him... “Huhu!! Hey you down there!” , a chipper sounding voice would echo from up the bell tower. Zaymus would jump from statue to statue than, making his way down to on of the angel-statues at the walls at the ground, the man hopping on the head of one of them with a big, devilish smile. “Why hello there! And who might you be?” Lightning Farron

● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside Lightning had not wished to remain in such a place. Here she stood out. Many called her an Angel, or Savior, whenever her vision passed them as she slew Heartless after Heartless and chased away Nobody after Nobody. The armor and the feathered visage struck the church with fear that they spoke of the coming end for those who did not repent. Claims of the average man turning to creatures of writhing shadow and empty shells. She was the prophecy. It was revolting really. She had long since turned her back on god. Having lived so long under the thumb of one so vengeful, after becoming his reaper: she was sure there was no pride that came from being seen as an angel of death, even if it was something of a mercy for some. She tried not to let it get to her. In fact there were many days in which she sought to walk among the people of the Cloches and learn about that which made them suffer. She offered a hand to those in need, but in the stead of thanks she received praise and reverence. Perhaps it was her anger towards god, or the humble heart she had grown over several lifetimes of hardship -- but she could not look these people in the eyes and tell them all they had to do was believe...
She had come to the church to listen for a while to the priests, standing back in the shadows. How overwhelming it was to see. It was like looking back in time. People were huddled in a stone mausoleum and prayed to a god who would not show his face either because he did not care, or could not. Valhalla forefend to witness this flooded her heart with memories of her youth, of a time in which she had valiantly fought for god and forgot the lessons instilled to her by the Goddess. Etro forgive her, for she had forgotten so how desperate people were, how weak they were. They needed someone to protect them and until the Gates of Time opened anew this was her. At the end of the sermon the priest had looked to her with hope, wanting her to speak a few words. But how could she? She was no savior. She was a destroyer, but she was alright with that. Someone had to be willing and able to destroy in order to save.
And here she was again.
She looked to Zaymus and inclined her head in greeting. She did not flinch nor did she seemed taken aback by his peculiar behavior. "I am-- Lightning." A title, more so than a name, but it was how she identified herself. She was Lightning: a destructive force that paved the way for creation and life through the fire and death that followed her. She longed for a life of peace, but until it was revealed to her why she was asked to leave her home, untouched by the fury of god and his ego.... she would remain. "I would ask again that you leave those people alone." Her voice was calm, gentle.
It was the memory of a mother or older sister who better handled those younger than she and vehemently avoided those her age as they could be as stubborn and formidable as she is in terms of arrogance. Though given her years there were only two that fit that bill...
