Black Waltz 3
1 or 2 years
To eliminate Zidane and Company, Steal Garnet's heart... literally
Black Waltz 1 and 2
Black Waltz 3 is extremely arrogant, cocky and confident in his own abilities, seeming himself as superior by design to the other black mages. He holds himself in the highest regard and can't foresee losing to anyone, especially someone like Zidane or Vivi. Despite his ego being the size of an airship, Black Waltz 3 follows orders he's given, if a tad loosely. Those he's ordered to capture often end up mangled and barely alive, partly in fact due to him partaking in the perverse desire to inflict pain on his opponents. Despite having an inflated ego, though, Black Waltz 3 is quite stubborn and strong, shrugging off loses as if they never happen in order to complete his goals. Once he's been given a task, the Black Waltz is dead-set on completing said task unless completely and utterly destroyed. As a result, he is completely and single-mindedly devoted to capturing the princess but for what purpose... he cannot say. He has no queen to return her too nor a force to command him. Such a position had also left him... perplexed.
Being left on his own for so long, though, had actually aided Black Waltz 3 in growing a mind of his own, becoming quite independent, making his own decisions as to carry out his primary directive.
Possesses a grudge toward Zidane, Vivi and Adelbert Steiner for his defeat on the way to Lindblum. Especially Vivi
Still seeks Princess Garnet to this day.
Black Waltz 3 sees himself as far above the average being of darkness, often showing dismissive or disgusted behavior towards his defeated kin. He also shows little respect towards his predecessors (black waltz 1 and 2), believing them to be faliures. He does, however, respect bravery a bit, commending foes for standing to face their imminent demise. He's merciless and cares not for the collateral damage he inevitably causes, even if it costs the hearts of a few unintended targets. He grows increasingly unstable the more damage is done to him.
Black Waltz 3 was created to be the ultimate Black Mage. Smarter, Faster, More powerful than any of those that came before him, He was the pinnacle of what it meant to be the pinnacle of what it meant to wield black magic. However, his unstable nature made him unfit for use and thus, was very nearly destroyed in his creation. The defeat of his predecessors, however, gave his creators pause, eventually releasing him to hunt down Zidane and company much like his predecessors. He tracked them down to a rogue airship formerly crewed by black mages, confident in his abilities to take down these would-be heroes! He engaged them in battle, believing that this would a simple easy fight and, at the start, he was correct. Nobody could touch the Black Waltz as he hovered above them, and his magic was simply too strong. However, the tide of the battle changed once Vivi unlocked Trance... Intrigued by this power, Black Waltz 3 engaged with a little more of his own but in his hubris, he was caught off guard and inevitably defeated, leading to his destruction just outside the Southern Gate.
Barely functional, he was found by a mysterious figure in a black robe and with a surge of dark power, the Black Waltz found he was fully restored and his power increased to new heights!
He flew about the world, searching for Zidane, instead locating a train that housed Garnet and Steiner along with the Tantalus Thief-Band. With his newly acquired dark strength, he was confident in his abilities to carry out his new orders and wipe out this pests! Again, his hubris got the better of him, leading to his defeat at the hands of Marcus, forcing him to flee in disgrace. Black Waltz, unable to return to Alexandria seeing as word got around that Queen Brahne was dead! Shocked, confused... and maybe even scared as to what this meant, Black-Waltz 3 wandered Gaia aimlessly, contemplating what his purpose was now... Between the unstable nature of his power and his own internal struggles as to what he was now, Black Waltz 3 fell into a temporary madness, attacking anything everything in sight, yelling "KILL!" at the top of his lungs!
Eventually, as the Black Waltz spent his mana supply, his madness subsided enough for him to make sense of the situation, regaining control of himself enough to formulate a new plan out of the old one... His goals didn't have to change... He'd STILL capture the princess... It was what he was created for after all! As to what he did next... He could not say... For now, he'd track down that stupid monkey-boy as he no doubt knew where Garnet was!
As soon as he found Zidane, he'd face a TRUE Black Waltz!
And this time, he would not be stopped.
Black waltz 3 stands at nearly 117 cm tall from boots to hat-tip, weighing a grand total of 200 pounds! He wears a sleek black jacket with raven-feathered shoulder cuffs, a long, wide-rimmed pointed witch-hat, and has MASSIVE raven wings sprouting from his back that grants him the power of flight! He also carries a long, crescent-moon headed staff from which he channels his magical energies. Lightning constantly crackles around the Black Waltz, especially during combat, making it exceedingly dangerous to even get close to him. He stands tall with pride and authority, knowing that he can destroy you at any time he pleases. Darkness also seems to radiate off this pillar of magic, showing his allegiance to all.
"Out of my way! You DARE fight a Black Waltz!?"
"Fool! I am beyond your pathetic attempts at magic!"
"I am Black Waltz No.3! Your fate is sealed!"
Lightning crackled around the massive Black Waltz, his wings flapping periodically as he hovered above the airship deck. What fools... They thought they'd be able to escape him...? In this cargo ship run by Black mages? FOOLS! They were both pathetic AND stupid! It was almost an embarrassment of a mission to send him to clean up No.2's mess. And look at them all... Scrambling out to face him like good little fools...
"Ah. It's about time." His spoke, his voice deep, cutting into the souls of all who heard it. "What made you think that you could escape a Black Waltz?" His gaze flicked over the foolish little minions before him: A Monkey-tailed boy, the treacherous captain of the Pluto Knights, and.... A prototype... His piercing gaze locked onto the fearful one of the childish failure, his eyes squinting in distaste.
"It seems we have more than one traitor attempting to move the Princess. It is of no consequence. You're all going to disappear!" Black Waltz 3 lifted his hand, a well of electricity spilling forth from his palm, ripping up the deck of the ship and setting the wood on fire! A little taste of the pain they would all feel for daring to defy a Black Waltz! They would all know the true meaning of Darkness!
