In the first round of the tournament, Rojo and Gilgamesh were pitted against at rather regal looking fellow, who was apparently a king, and a beggar who liked to steal things from Gilgamesh. What were they, and did they become a sort of prince and the pauper sort of friends? Rojo didn't really have a lot of time to ponder, and Gilgamesh switched his weapons by releasing a shockwave and switched to a much larger and much scarier weapon. You know, this version of Gilgamesh was definitely helpful, but Rojo got the feeling he should be glad that this wasn't the version he'd come into contact with.
Gilgamesh then rocketed himself towards their enemies impaling the both of them! Of course he did though, because, come on, this is Gilgamesh and Rojo we're talking about! All their enemies would be impaled like that. However, these two decided to give damage just as easily as they took it. Rojo saw a flash of fire go off from the beggar towards the scary version of Gilgamesh.
"You know, despite all my accomplishments, you guys still want to attack him. I'm beginning to get offended."
Rojo dashed forward behind Gilgamesh. However, he was met with a weird technicolor cloud of toxic fumes. From his vantage point behind his overly large, frightening friend, Rojo couldn't see the source, but it appeared to be some sort of poison magic.
"OH GOD! IT SMELLS SO AWFUL! I THINK TIAMAT'S DROPPINGS SMELLED BETTER THAN THIS!"
Rojo felt queasy immediately and felt a cough coming, but what he wanted to do meant that coughing was an awful idea. He focused intently as the Red Wizard of Light released another spell, while still caught deep in the cloud of purple and green fog. As the fog subsided both Gilgamesh and Rojo would appear to have vanished completely. Invisira had the ability to bring others with the red mage into an invisibility spell.
Now, Rojo's usual step would have been to hop into the air and blast again, but if he used that much physical strain, he was positive he would begin coughing like crazy. It was bad enough that he'd felt his health deteriorating from this spell. The crimson clad caster took very careful steps backwards, while focusing on his spell. Now, the hard part was him also not knowing Gilgamesh's position, but he didn't have time to hesitate much longer. He was about to vomit and cough uncontrollably. He only had about another few seconds to finish this spell.
From a point between the now healed king and beggar, a massive explosion erupted. A sphere of flame and light sought to engulf the two of them. At the same time as the Flare erupted, Rojo, still invisible, began coughing wildly. He managed to hold off the bile for now, but the coughing continued six, seven, eight, all the way up to ten times before he managed to contain himself again. He really should have listened to Alwyn and taught himself Esuna back when they were traveling.

Gilgamesh turned to his face his opponents. Unfortunately for him, he had dashed right through the Bioblaster cloud. Even with his speed, he could feel the poison go to work. However, there were other, more fortunate happenings. Rojo managed to cast some sort of disorienting spell on both Edgar and Locke. This had the side effect of Locke's Firaga going wide and exploding in an empty space nowhere near Gilgamesh. The swordsman hadn't noticed the sudden weakness to water afflicting him as he turned to the desert king. "I have tested countless Shields of Kings in my time. Through them, I have gathered much about what a king truly is. It is not difficult to discern. After all, you just told me. However, that is not what I'm interested in. Let us see if you can truly handle things. You will feel my sword's bite again, Your Majesty." It was then that Rojo's Invisra took effect, causing Gilgamesh to seemingly disappear from sight. He took advantage of this by remaining silent, something Rojo would have great difficulty with.
The Blademaster noticed that his opponents were healing their wounds. A setback, though temporary. He would simply have to capitalize on his newfound invisibility. Gilgamesh dashed towards Locke first and used his greatsword to slice across his midsection. While the thief seemed to not be in a fighting mood, this version of Gilgamesh wasn't going to be lulled into a false sense of security. People had always found ways to fight past incredible odds, even against entities as strong as himself. Gilgamesh spun around and raised his sword high, bringing it down on Edgar's head, as if he was going to split the king in half. Then the Blademaster spun around in place, swinging his sword around in a circle to slice at both of his adversaries. The poison from Edgar's Bioblaster bit at him, but it would be a long time before that alone would do him in. Gilgamesh was a warrior par excellence, it would take more than mere poison to finish him.

(Inflicted with Poison and a weakness to water, takes light damage from the Poison)
1) Horizontal Slice across Locke's midsection
2) Vertical slice at Edgar
3) Spin attack at both Locke and Edgar
The Many Faces of Gilgamesh: Due to Gilgamesh's visits to many worlds, he's undergone many different appearances. With some practice, he has managed to access these different forms, though his control of them is... well, it doesn't really exist. An eight-sided dice is rolled to determine which form he takes when combat starts. [Forms are numbered 1-7; Form is unchanged at 8] Gilgamesh's default mode is Rift Wanderer Mode. However, should Gilgamesh arrive on a world where he had a different mode [Orience, for example], he will adopt the appropriate mode as default. If the number rolled corresponds to a form already in use, the form is unchanged.
[1] Rift Wanderer: (FFV/Dissidia) Represents Gilgamesh's time as Exdeath's lackey and his later intrusion into the Dissidia Realm.
[2] Guardian Force Mode: (FFVIII/FFVI/FFI/FFIV:The After Years) Represents Gilgamesh's more nondescript travels, where he acted as a force of powerful good and an obstacle for heroes who wish to explore everything.
[3] Elite Mark Mode: (FFXII) Represents Gilgamesh's time as the greatest swordsman in all of Ivalice and also Ivalice's greatest troublemaker.
[4] Commando Mode: (FFXIII-2) Represents Gilgamesh's time as a gladiator in a Coliseum out of Time.
[5] Eorzean Warrior Mode: (FFXIV) Represents Gilgamesh's time as a suspected thief in Eorzea. Has shown a love painting roosters green out of loneliness.
[6] Blademaster Mode: (FFXV) Represents the time Gilgamesh spent in Eos, testing potential Shields of the King to see who was worthy of receiving his power.
[7] Lorican King Mode: (FF Type-0) Represents the mysterious origins of Gilgamesh and his time as King of Lorica on the world of Orience.
Not only does Gilgamesh's arsenal change with each mode, but also his abilities. Abilities will be listed under their respective form and CAN ONLY BE USED IN THAT FORM. However, some moves are used in more than one form (Excalipur and Bitter End, for example). Any differences will be noted. [Cooldown: 2 posts]
Jumping slice: Can only be used with the Broadsword/Genji Blade. Gilgamesh jumps high into the air and then lands near his opponent, slicing at him as he lands. Deals medium damage. [CAN BE USED AGAIN]
Sword Switch: Gilgamesh drives his blade into the ground, causing a burst of energy around him that damages and knocks back foes. He then switches to another weapon of his choosing: Greatsword, Broadsword or Rapier. Deals medium damage. [Cooldown: 1 post]
Dash Thrust: Can only be used with the Greatsword. Gilgamesh charges energy into his blade and then dashes to his opponent, leaving afterimages and thrusting his blade into his opponent. Deals heavy damage. [Cooldown: 2 posts]

Locke noted the attack did little, but his disorientation was over. Standing ready, he watched through the smoke and gas that had started to cover the area from both the Firaga and the Bio Blaster towards where the two opponents were situated as he saw Rojo move nearer to Gilgamesh. But then they both vanished, rather than blinking or narrowing his eyes, the treasure hunter widened them in memory of invisibility spells. Great, his eyes focused on the area as he saw something move towards him through the area.
Making use of the smoke and gas being still present, it allowed him to have a hint of what was going on. Locke suddenly leapt to the side to make sure whatever came at him in a hurry would not catch him as he could hear the air whirl, dodging whatever attack was thrown. The hunter then continued into a full sprint as flames literally exploded behind him. He hoped the king made his way out as the treasure hunter felt only some seers from the flames that had caught him, but he still maintained his sprint.
Focusing on the area where the smoke and gas was slowly subsiding, Locke could hear the red mage cough as he tried to pinpoint the location from the sounds. It seemed the person was not moving as he kept his focus fully on the location and any possible movement or sound when he suddenly changed the direction of his sprint and moved straight towards the sound. There with dagger in hand, the treasure hunter tried to strike at Rojo in hopes of burrying his dagger into the man's body. Not only that, he planned to keep his momentum and hopefully push the man over, if he could keep the mage stuck in one position, even with the invisibility he should be able to hold him down.
Actions [1] Dodged Gilgamesh' attack, leaving the area entirely. [2] Got seared from the Flare, but kept on moving. [3] Leapt straight for the position where Rojo is coughing in the gas. Items Obtained Phoenix Down

Edgar smirked a bit at the lack or retort to his insult towards Rojo. It seemed that he was likely getting a bit under his skin. It was quite amusing in his opinion. But, he had better things to do then dwell on winning a battle of words. That would not earn him victory in this battle. Both he and Locke needed to show promise in their combat skills and win. It was the only way they'd get the recognition they needed to locate their friends. This battle was more than just a game to the king. He was determined to complete this task to the best of his own abilities. Edgar knew that Locke would always do his best. The two were very unlikely allies seeing as Edgar loathed thieves more than most things in the world. But, Locke was not a thief. He was a 'treasure hunter' as he corrected Edgar a lot of the time. Locke had a true heart and he wasn't like the rest of the lot. It's likely why the two became comrades in arms and bound together to fight back against the Empire. That, or all those years of Locke being the king's only true contact with the Resistance.
The king watched Gilgamesh closely as they spoke. Though, it was harder to focus on him than he'd care to admit. It was hard to hear most of the comments that were crossing his ears. But, it was along the lines of having tested kings and that he seemed to be one. But, he was sort of lost with hearing the rest. The ringing was quite distracting and it was hard to really hear what was going on.
Edgar was, again, amused by the red man's comments. Or, from what he could hear. But, he sounded upset about them noting paying him any mind. "Well, maybe you should make yourself seem like an actual threat instead of being the bag of wind you seem to be. You sort of remind me of Typhon..." He half insulted, though only Locke would likely get the reference. He was talking much louder than usual seeing as he couldn't really hear himself that well either.
That's when things got a bit more serious and Edgar tightened his grip on his lance. The two had vanished with a simple movement of Rojo's. What the hell? It had the king on a high guard when he noticed the faintest movement in the gas around him. Gilgamesh was fast, and that was his problem. Edgar could see the smog move with his quick movement towards Locke."LOCKE! HEADS UP!" He attempted to warn as he turned a bit sideways to make sure that he wasn't going to be attacked from the back, weapon held tight in case the currently invisible warrior tried to make any attacks. His only chance of noting a strike was watching the sand for footprints. He had no idea if Locke was hurt or damaged. The disorientation from the confuse was still affecting his hearing and vision a bit. It was rather annoying, like attempting to look through water almost. What he wasn't expecting was for an explosive fire magic to blast from between Locke and Edgar to go off.
What he didn't know was that Rojo couldn't see Gilgamesh either. If the mage was aware of Gilgamesh's position, it would be that he was right between the two and the blast had actually saved Edgar from a blade to the noggin. The flare knocked the king backwards and into the sand of the coliseum. At least it was softer than normal earth. It cushioned his backside a bit as he hit the ground. "....ouch....ugggh" He groaned a bit as he used his weapon to work his way back up to his feet. His side throbbing as he did so. He prayed that it didn't reopen the wound, but he didn't have time to check right now. The blast disoriented him a bit, mostly causing some concussive damage. He had no idea how lucky he was. That slice would have likely knocked him out of the battle. Plus, he'd of ended up with a rather wicked scar. That wasn't something he'd want. Yes, scars could be attractive. But, not with his face. The women loved it the way it was.
His eyes were pulled to the flare that was smoking a bit as it died off, seeing the movement of Gilg headed toward him. Or, he assumed it was Gilg from the location he was moving from. He was surprised the guy was still moving. It was quite impressive. Maybe he was underestimating him a bit. "Got you..." He commented as he pulled out one of his favorite tools you use, Air Anchor. He needed to give Locke his second to situate himself. Edgar was hoping that he could hold him in place long enough to let this invisibility spell to wear off. Seriously, was this Rojo guy an Esper? He had some pretty impressive magic if he wasn't one.
Edgar pulled himself from his thoughts, watching to see if his anchor locked Gilgamesh in or not. He had aimed at what appeared to be Gilgamesh approaching him from the site of the flare. He could hopefully be so lucky. But, you never know.
Edgar was knocked back and damaged a bit from Flare, avoiding a possible mortal injury from Gilgamesh.
Action: 1) Uses Air Anchor tool to attempt locking Gilgamesh in place for a turn till he's visible and keep him out of Locke's hair.
Air Anchor - Edgar chooses one target and uses this tool on them. The target has the choice of not attacking for 1 post or attacking and 'blowing up' the next post. The target would be dealt a decent amount of damage. The trade off being that Edgar can only use this ability on his turn and no other abilities can be used in the same post this is used. [This makes using it in one on one battles pointless as it would cause a stalemate for a post.] [Cooldown: 3 posts]

It had seemed as if Rojo's quick witted invisibility spell had been successful. The cover it had given them had allowed Rojo's magical explosion to meet its mark, mostly. The ragged looking man had escaped most of it, but the king had taken a lot of the blow. However, the red mage was too busy hacking and coughing to notice. The Red Wizard of Light looked up just in time to see the beggar plunge a dagger into his side.
"OW! WHAT THE HELL?! HAVEN'T YOU HEARD OF NOT FIGHTING THE SICK OR ELDERLY! I'M CLEARLY THE SICK HERE!"
Rojo then sought revenge for the obvious foul play by their opponents. From Locke's point of view, the red mage would reappear just before he burst forward with a physical attack. His body was boosted by a blast of wind as he intended to damage the ruffian with his Enaero ability. Lately, Rojo had begun to attempt merging magic with his physical abilities. In the Hades Cup, Gilgamesh had taught him a huge lesson. He knew that he needed to work more on the swordsmanship of his combat, and this was the first step.
After his quick sliding dash, Rojo caught the king using some sort of device against Gilgamesh. He quickly sought to free his ally by casting a little bit of black magic. Jagged crystals of ice erupted from beneath Edgar and Locke as Blizzara attempted to injure both of his opponents. "I think you need to chill out!"
Now, there are three aspects to being a red mage. So far, Rojo had mainly been using black magic and he'd just attempted his first physical strike. There was still a powerful aspect to his white magic. The mage lept into the air, attempting to land back towards his partner as the both of them became covered in a pale green aura. Healaga began to set in as Rojo felt the wounds from the dagger, the poison, and even part of the king's lance attack earlier all begin to close. If Rojo didn't throw in some healing soon, then the pair would likely be in trouble soon.
"Gilgamesh, I do believe its time we fight seriously!"
-=-=-=-=-=-=- 1. Used Enaero to speed past Locke, attempting a slash in the process. 2. Cast Blizzara to interrupt Edgar, and attempt to injure both enemies. 3. Cast Healaga to heal both Gilgamesh and Rojo

Once again, it seemed that their opponents were playing a more defensive game, evading their attacks despite the invisibility. It was part of the reason Gilgamesh kept moving about to confound them. He decided to stick near Edgar for the time being, deducing him to be the bigger threat. Locke seemed to be only striking when there was an opening, while Edgar ensured that there was an opening to take advantage. Clever, but futile. Rojo and himself were employing a similar gambit and Gilgamesh felt that there's was stronger and had more versatility. Still, this wasn't the time to get too arrogant. The tides of battle could change in an instant. A lesson Gilgamesh was reminded of, thanks to the true Shield of the King. As Gilgamesh brooded and moved about, His Majesty managed to wheel around to face him. So the womanizing king managed to track him. He then shot... something. It looked like some sort of mechanical claw that grabbed a hold of Gilgamesh's leg and gripped it tight, intending to keep him in place. Tools were not a new thing in Eos, but Gilgamesh had no knowledge of this one. As he came back into view, the spell wearing off, he stared at the king.
"You are quite cunning, to be able to track me. Kudos. However, judging from how you are holding that machine of yours..." Gilgamesh began, seeming to analyze Edgar and his Air Anchor. "You cannot do anything while it is active. A poor choice." Gilgamesh lifted the Greatsword off of his shoulder and swung it down at Edgar, trying to bisect him and the arena floor with how hard he brought it down. However, once he finished the swing, he heard a series of very fast beeps. Gilgamesh looked down just in time for the Air Anchor to explode, sending fire, smoke and a shockwave everywhere. The Blademaster was thrown backwards, feeling quite a bit of pain in his leg. Luckily, he and the leg were still intact. He got back up with a groan. "Hmph... very clever, Your Majesty." He then felt Rojo's Healaga affect him, as his wounds closed and his pain subsided. He also heard Rojo's plea to try and get serious. No... No, not yet. These two had yet to go all out, in Gilgamesh's opinion. He refused to fight opponents who were still attempting to toy with the Blademaster. Give it time... then he would see if these men were worthy of a true fight.
Gilgamesh used the smoke to move around Edgar and swing his blade at Edgar's back, a diagonal slice across his spine. Then Gilgamesh sliced across Edgar's body horizontally, intending to separate the top half from the bottom. The Greatest Swordsman decided to keep his focus on the king. The thief, while possessing strong magic, either was too scared or too focused on his comrade to be of much threat. Taking down the king, at least, would keep him from further degrading Rojo's and Gilgamesh's abilities. "Your Majesty, your tools are strong but are insufficient. Draw your sword, draw your spear, whatever you have and let us fight like proper warriors."
-----------------
(Allows the Air Anchor to explode him, dealing medium damage. Poison deals light damage. Healaga heals most of Gilgamesh's wounds.)
1) Takes advantage of Edgar's lack of ability to do anything but keep the Air Anchor in place, Gilgamesh slices at him vertically.
2 & 3) Taking advantage of the smoke caused by the Air Anchor's explosion and gets behind Edgar, slicing at him diagonally. Then slicing at him horizontally.

It seemed to Locke that Edgar was hanging in there, but thus far this battle had not been in their favor the least. As he struck at the invisible coughing maniac, the guy complained about being the sick, "well, those sick in the head can be quite the nuisance, I'm afraid I have to put you down," he replied, thinking about Kefka. Perhaps it was not the most desirable response to make. Honestly, he was too busy to think of brilliant come-backs as the mage came at him with a more physical type of attack, which seemed unusual considering how he had fought thus far, but behind it the blast of wind set the treasure hunter off when he tried to block the strike.
In his surprise, Locke's feet left the ground for a moment, but he quickly spun and made a flip to try and see what was going on. Then a pillar of ice struck into his back while he was maneuvering in the air. When he hit the ground and started to slide a bit back, he heard Rojo mention on becoming serious. Serious? Hasn't this all been serious enough? if this smack-talking son of a dress had really just been fooling around, it'd probably not be too good for him or Edgar. Then again, it might also be a Kefka situation... which was also not good, to be fair. He rather faced that squidball in duplicate than this current match-up had been. Especially considering the guy just healed both himself and the big guy with the sword.
It was my intend to whittle them down and then do some blast while healing everyone, Locke thought to himself, they're stealing my tricks before I can even perform them. Suddenly he dashed forward, he hated to say it, but it didn't look very good for Edgar with Gilgamesh there. Considering this was a team fight, the treasure hunter moved in on Rojo while dashing side to side and tried a Mug as he attempted to strike at the red mage's torso. Then pass the man by and twirl in that spot to try a swift kick at the mage's back. He had no chance to get close to Edgar and Gilgamesh in time, so he chose to try and take his aggression out on Rojo for the moment. As he pushed himself off the ground and leapt right after Rojo while striking downward with his dagger and pin him down to the ground.
Actions [1] Dashed at Rojo while trying feints and used Mug to strike him at his torso and steal an item. [2] Passed Rojo and twirled while trying to deliver a swift kick upon Rojo in hopes to get him unstable on his feet. [3] Leapt right after Rojo with a downward slash at him and trying to pin him to the ground. Items Obtained Phoenix Down

"Oh, trust me. It wasn't easy. I wasn't even sure it was you." He admitted as he held tight on the Air Anchor. He needed to give Locke the opening to see if he could take down the Red Mage. Locke was a very agile and strong man. He could certainly manage fighting a squishy mage. He kept his feet planted securely on the ground as he held tight. Sadly, Gilgamesh was right. He couldn't do anything while he used the tool. It was a downside of the tool, but it's benefits outweighed the drawbacks. The benefits showing themselves as clear as day almost immediately after being told he'd made a poor choice. The explosion went off with Gilgamesh's movement and sent him back a bit. This gave Edgar a chance to recoil the wire back and put his toy away. He felt the cold blast from the Blizzara hit him, making a face at the bitter cold and brute and sudden pain. But, he held strong.
When his eyes glanced back up, he heard the man speak and he was gone into the smoke. He heard very faint crunches in the sand. His hearing starting to come back. But, it was hard to hear the exact location of it over the noises in the coliseum. So, Edgar took a hard choice and made the presumption that the man was going to go for his back. He pulled his spear from the sand and held his spear vertically, feeling himself get pushed back by the man's sheer strength. Though, sadly feeling the blade cut a bit deeper than expected due to it catching the leather between his arm bracer and his shoulder/upper arm armor."As much as I would love to just use my lance, I take great pleasure in my creations as well. Plus, I'm not a esper like your friend seems to be." The King commented as he smirk a bit smugly. "I hope you'll be able to see it. It's probably my favorite." He admitted.
His first movement was pulling his Flash tool right hand whi;e holding his lance with his left. He set it off almost immediately, hoping to blind both Rojo and Gilgamesh this time. The first time had been extremely unsuccessful. If anything, it would delay them while he pulled out his favorite tool. His handy Chainsaw. He secured his lance before quickly dawning his face protective mask, very similar to a hockey mask. Though, Edgar wouldn't know what that was. He then started the chainsaw, slashing forward at the swordsman ahead of him, ignoring any attacks he was attempting to make. He would take the hit in exchange for the damage that his chainsaw would cause. His full attention focused on Gilgamesh right now, watching him through the smaller eye-holes of the mask.
Damaged by Blizzara. Clipped by Gilgamesh's blade to the upper arm.
Actions: 1) Using his spear to take most of the sword attacks from Gilgamesh. 2) Casting Flash to hopefully blind Rojo and Gilgamesh. 3) Attacking Gilgamesh with his chainsaw.

With Gilgamesh at his side, Rojo was doing pretty good as the two of them took on the odd mismatch of the poor looking man and the kingly machinist. As soon as Rojo stated it was time to get serious, the pauper dashed towards him. It seemed as if his combination of ice magic and physical strike wasn't enough to keep him down.
Rojo attempted to block the blade with his own, but failed miserably as he took a knife to the gut. What he failed to notice was the thief snatch something off his person. AND HE WAS USING THAT SOMETHING TO HOLD UP HIS FREAKING PANTS! Rojo's trousers his the floor revealing white undergarments with bright red hearts upon them, and suddenly Rojo's face matched the color.
"YOU! YOU'RE A MONSTER! HOW DARE YOU FIGHT SO COWARDLY AND DE-PANTS A MAN OF MY STATURE! YOU SIR ARE NOW MY ETERNAL ENEMY!"
As Rojo bent down to grab his pants, Locke kicked the Red Wizard of Light in his back, causing him to smack face first into the ground. Now, this was getting personal. He couldn't even allow the red mage to put his pants back where they belonged! This was despicable!
"YOU! YOU'VE EMBARRASSED ME FOR THE LAST TIME!"
He then sought to pin the Red Wizard to the ground, but this time, the mage was quicker. A golden wind came over both himself and Gilgamesh as the crimson clad mage cast his ultimate defensive spell. This White Wind would increase physical power, physical defense, magical defense, speed, and it helped heal a few of those bumps and boo-boos they'd received before now.
With his new burst of speed, Rojo bounced to his feet, quickly tying his pants around his waist with the end of his cape. It felt a little awkward, but he could fix it after the match. He then looked upon the thief and massive white seal appeared belone him on the ground below. Instantly, this was followed by a powerful beam of light that would ascend as Holy would attempt to finish the beggar. But that light..was way too bright.
"I don't remember it being that bri-ARGH MY EYES!"
The intense bright light blinded the red mage, and he instinctively covered his eyes and turned his head away. Unfortunately this left his vulnerable. Fortunately, he had his most powerful defensive spell active.

Gilgamesh listened to Edgar spoke. Even with the shenanigans going on with his partner, Gilgamesh carried an aura of seriousness. However, the king could almost sense a certain amusement coming from the Blademaster. "Hmph... I must admit, your confidence in your machinery is admirable. But a King who must rely on mere tools other than his own strength is not much of a King. As for my companion, there are many worlds beyond yours. Worlds where magic works entirely different from yours. You would do well to remember that." Gilgamesh then reared back and stabbed the ground once again, creating yet another explosion of purple energy. This time, the sword that was switched in was much like a rapier, with a light, thin blade. Although, "thin" was relatively speaking. It was still a much larger blade than Edgar or Locke were used to seeing for a rapier. However, Gilgamesh couldn't draw the new blade in time to avoid Edgar's Flash tool. He uttered a grunt as the blinding light seared at his eyes. He reflexively drew his arm over his eyes, but it was too late. The damage had been done. Hmph... underestimation of another's abilities is unbecoming of me.
Then the blademaster heard the mechanical growl of... something. He wasn't sure whether it was a blade or some sort of monster summoned by the King, but it was a blessing in disguise. His eyes may be temporarily unusable, but his ears worked just fine. Gilgamesh could roughly gauge where the chainsaw was coming from, which he gathered was coming from the King himself, as the sound emanated from his rough position. The sound then drew nearer, indicating movement and Gilgamesh moved to try and block it. His sword clashed with chainsaw and the bite of the mechanical tool sent sparks every which way. Had Gilgamesh went with a thicker blade, he might have been able to block it. However, he only managed to deflect most of the damage, the chainsaw biting into him through his arm. Luckily, he was helped in the defense of this tool by Rojo, who cast a defensive healing spell on him in the nick of time.
Gilgamesh wasted no time in going back on the offensive, tracking Edgar by the sound of the chainsaw. While the lighter blade was poor on defense, it was light enough to easily counter with. The blademaster unleashed a combo of attacks, acting not unlike a true fencer, slashing at Edgar twice before stabbing forward. Gilgamesh was blind, but he hoped at least one of the attacks would land. He jumped backwards and then... waited. He simply kept his blade forward and listened to the sounds of the battle going on. This was not hard considering Rojo had a voice like a foghorn. It seemed he too was caught by the Flash. How troublesome. As he waited for his vision to clear, he listened for his opponents, in case they foolishly tried to ambush the Blademaster.
------------------
1) Used Sword Switch, switching to the Rapier 2) Deflected most of the damage from the chainsaw and countered with a three-hit combo with the Rapier 3) Unused, going on the defensive while the Blind effect wears off.
(Blinded until next post, sustained light damage from Chainsaw thanks to blocking and White Wind)
[COOLDOWN ENDED]
Sword Switch: Gilgamesh drives his blade into the ground, causing a burst of energy around him that damages and knocks back foes. He then switches to another weapon of his choosing: Greatsword, Broadsword or Rapier. Deals medium damage. [Cooldown: 2 posts]
Dash Thrust: Can only be used with the Greatsword. Gilgamesh charges energy into his blade and then dashes to his opponent, leaving afterimages and thrusting his blade into his opponent. Deals heavy damage. [CAN BE USED AGAIN]

As he kicked, Locke found himself that Rojo had lost his pants as it was down to his feet. The mage was shouting out at him as he tried to continue his attack and pin the man down. Still he avoided it as he started to hop away in a more difficult manner, but in a good speed from some spell he cast. The mage was trying to work his pants back up and tie it down with his cape. It looked rather ridiculous to the treasure hunter. At least there was some amusement in this match, but considering he caused it might've been a bit less grand.
Having successfully mugged the mage, Locke found himself now having a Magicite Shard, which was a good thing. They could use something big with how this match was going thus far. He wasn't too pleased with how the two opponents were going quite offensively into things thus far. Plus they both wielded a lot of magic. Two Espers from the looks of things. With great speed, Locke tried to move after Rojo and keep him down to prevent any magic before some massive flash came and he felt some pain. The hunter tried to get out of the Holy burst as fast as he could, but did get hurt by some of it.
Continuing his dash despite the damage, Locke pulled up his dagger and tried to strike at Rojo again from the front. He aimed to strike at his torso and again he would place all his weight onto the mage and try to get him down on the ground, planting him into the ground was the best option right now. As he performed this, he held out the Magicite Shard to call upon an Esper. Suddenly Maduin appeared, the horned humanoid esper was Terra's father, having greenish grey hair tied in a ponytail and dark skin. From him Chaos Wave happened as the arena darkened and from the Esper the waves of anger came. It would harm both Rojo and Gilgamesh with great non-elemental damage.
Actions [1] Avoided the most of the damage from Holy. [2] Trying to plant his dagger into Rojo while jumping at him to try and get him down on the ground. [3] Used the Magicite Shard to summon Maduin. Items Obtained Phoenix Down Magicite Shard

The commotion from across the arena was almost distracting enough to pull Edgar from his current target. He had disapproved of Gilgamesh's statement as to him not being much of a king. It stung more than the cut on his arm. Who was this man to judge him? Edgar was a king, this man was not. Edgar might not have been the best king that ever ruled. That was likely his father or an ancestor. But, he did what a king was meant to do. He protected his city to the best of his abilities and he would always continue to do so till the day he died. "A true King doesn't rely on his own strength alone. They rely on other like their companions to keep their people safe and prosperous. I have done that countless times and will continue to do so in my own manner, even if unconventional." This was a serious dig at him. It honestly was something that bothered him from the beginning. Maybe Sabin would have been a better King had he not faked the coin toss in Sabin's favor. Yet, that is something he would never truly know the answer to. It was a secret he would take to the grave.
He remained silent about the comment on espers. What did he mean by that? Magic can work entirely different depending on the world? What kind of joke was that? How could magic behave differently? Wasn't all magic the same? Or, was it different like ever sword or lance was? It was something to ponder and look into. As far as Edgar knew, Espers were the source of magic. Then again, it didn't explain people such as Relm completely due to their inheriting from the Mage Warriors. Yet, it still all went back to the espers. He pushed this aside. Maybe he would inquire more of Gilgamesh after the match was complete.
The Flash had done it's job and had actually blinded Gilgamesh for the moment. It was evident in the way he'd reacted. Sadly, not before the man transformed his weapon. At least the blindness meant another few moments of keeping Gilgamesh occupied while Locke handled the red mage. He simply prayed he was able to hold Gilgamesh off long enough. He was feeling quite fatigued from the onslaught of magical attacks as well as the physical ones.
His chainsaw made contact and it was satisfying to get a hit in. Yet, also disappointing that he needed to physically harm another as a sport. He certainly didn't agree with this manner of battler. What if things got too physical and it ended up being more a fight to the death? Would someone intercede? He tried his best not to think on the topic. Edgar was able to secure his chainsaw away as well as his mask and recollect his lance from his back, sadly taking the combo from the larger rapier. He backed up a bit and moved to give himself some space while he could. Especially with Gilgamesh seeming to get a defensive stance.
He decided to get a quick hit in with his Crossbow before the blind wore off. He shot the first one toward Gilgamesh before turning to face Rojo. He shot that off before he realized what the shouting was about as Rojo worked to tie up his pants. This caused Edgar to laugh without any warning. It was that funny as he moved to quickly cover his mouth to muffle the amusement. "I guess that answers the boxers or briefs question." He chuckled to himself. "Did you steal his belt, Locke? Maybe you should give it back..." He teased as he looked back towards Gilgamesh, raising his arm to cast Cure on himself again to try and recover from some of the attacks on himself and close his wounds again.
That's when he practically heard the rumble of the summon. His eyes glanced over to see that Locke had managed to obtain a magicite shard to summon an esper. But of all the espers, did it HAVE to be Terra's father!? Edgar visibly flinched feeling the being intense stare on his back. It made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Edgar certainly deserved it with the sheer number of advances he'd attempted on Terra. Maduin wouldn't have appreciated it seeing as Edgar was a bit of a playboy. It was just a relief that the man didn't feel the need to smite Edgar as well. Edgar truly believed that Maduin came when an esper was summoned just to prove the point that he was watching... That he was always watching. Edgar shivered a bit as he worked to focus on defending himself and prepping for the next attack from Gilgamesh. He'd be ready.

Rojo may have been blinded, but he was still the greatest mage that ever lived on any world. At least, that's what his ego thought. Still reeling from King Vorhees, or whatever his name was's blinding ability, Rojo felt vulnerable. He would need to come up with a quick plan of action to ensure he and Gilgamesh weren't defeated by the flashing light. He still had the protection of White Wind on his die, so that was a plus.
The Red Wizard of Light thought that it was likely the beggar would attempt to get him back on the ground. So, when his dagger hit, he instinctively took the blade in full force, and it stung quite a bit. Rojo, used the force of Locke's attack to add to a backwards jump, to help provide him with distance away from the thief. What he hadn't expected, was a crossbow bolt to slam into his midsection as he did. Luckily, both attacks were reduced in damage by his protective spell, but both still very much hurt.
"Ha! Even if I can't see, I can still predict your movements with accuracy. I merely chose to allow your arrow to hit me in the rib cage. Yeah, you couldn't hit me with it unless I allowed it!"
Rojo, still blinded, heard another presence, an unfamiliar one enter the battlefield. Rojo needed a moment to analyze this before continuing. Look at him, using Alwyn's big brain like tactics in battle. The little protege was beginning to rub off on him. Before he could ponder on it, he was blasted with a massive blast of energy that he couldn't see. The White Wind's buff did little to shave damage off this ability, and Rojo felt like he'd be in trouble soon.
As the red mage quickly rose to his feet once more, feeling the cooling crimson running from his nose after the pressure of that attack, he knew he'd have to use his mouth to help him win this battle.
"Not bad! But look to the sky as I unleash my most powerful magic!"
Now, Rojo had them. He cast Blizzaga once again to send shards of ice upward to impale the enemies throughout the entire battlefield. Yes, this cool trickery would win him the battle, or at least stall for time while he waited for his eyes to recover.
"Aha! And again from the sky!"
This time he actually cast a spell that effected the sky, as bolts of lightning littered the battlefield. Thundaga would surely send a few bolts of lightning to each of them as Rojo through caution to the wind in a barrage of magical attacks. While he waited he decided he should recover some of his wounds. a pale green aura covered him from head to toe as Curaga recovered his wounds nearly to completion. As he did, he saw his vision slowly returning, and he strained his eyes to see the shapes take form.

As his vision returned to normal, Gilgamesh absorbed Edgar's words as he stood up straight, to his full height. "Heheheheheh... an admirable answer. Though earlier, you mentioned being quite capable of handling yourself. I wonder which is more true..." Gilgamesh watched as Edgar fired a crossbow bolt at the Blademaster. It rocketed through the air but as it drew close to Gilgamesh, the warrior suddenly Phased to the side, appeared a few feet to the left as an afterimage was left in its place. The bolt passed harmlessly through the afterimage, causing it to dissipate out of existence. However, what came next was not so easily dodged. The beast that was summoned sent non-elemental magic throughout the entire arena. Rojo's White Wind turned out to be more of a blessing than Gilgamesh had considered. Such interesting powers these two wielded. The White Wind absorbed most of the damage, but the sheer pressure of the attack caused the giant of a one-armed man to go to his knees, driving his sword into the ground. Once the attack ended, he slowly got back up, pulled the sword out.
"Heheheheheh... You are strong," Gilgamesh chuckled, as he advanced towards his opponents. However, as he advanced, a magical fire suddenly erupted from the empty pauldron. It had an eerie glow and wisps of it smoked off of it. It seem formed into a sort of prosthetic arm. It would seem that Gilgamesh's handicap was a bit of a deception. "But so long as fear binds your heart..." Gilgamesh's rapier disappeared from his hand, going back to its original position. Then another sword appeared, now being wielded with two hands. It seemed to be a particularly large katana or even a nodachi for that matter. It was the Genji Blade, procured from the now legendary Cor the Immortal. "... Your powers are WASTED on you." Gilgamesh concluded, his purple and black aura erupting around him. It was clear to everyone that he had ceased toying with his opponents.
Gilgamesh then started charging energy into his Blade, getting into a stance. Arcs of bright energy gathered into the sword, causing it to glow. From the looks of it, he seemed to be facing both Edgar AND Locke. Once the charge was completed, Gilgamesh spun and sliced vertically at Edgar, despite being a fair distance away. A crescent shaped blade of energy shot out like a bullet towards the Playboy King, gouging the arena ground as it cut a path to him. Gilgamesh then spun around and fired another blade of energy, this time at Locke, another ditch being gouged out in the process. "It has been a while since I've had to fight this seriously. Let us see if you two are worth the trouble."
---------------
1) Gilgamesh Phased out of the way of the Crossbow Bolt
2) Gilgamesh goes Two-Armed and summons his best sword: The Genji Blade
3) Gilgamesh uses Razor Wind, sending slices of energy at Edgar and Locke
Sword Switch: Gilgamesh drives his blade into the ground, causing a burst of energy around him that damages and knocks back foes. He then switches to another weapon of his choosing: Greatsword, Broadsword or Rapier. Deals medium damage. [Cooldown: 1 post]
Blademaster's Phase: Can only be used with the Rapier/Genji Blade. Gilgamesh is able to dodge quickly with the use of a very light blade, mimicking the King of Lucis's phasing power. When an opponent tries to attack, Gilgamesh dodges in a blink of an eye, leaving an afterimage behind. [Uses: 9] [Cooldown: 3 posts]
I am not One-armed: Gilgamesh conjures an arm made of fire where his left arm used to be. He then equips the Genji Blade, a powerful blade taken from the defeat of one Cor Leonis. With this blade, Jumping Slice and Blademaster's Phase are usable. Gilgamesh can also use the following attacks, which can only be used by the Genji Blade. [Duration: Until end of thread] [Cooldown: Once per thread]
Razor Wind: Gilgamesh charges energy into his blade. He then raises his blade and slams it into the ground, causing a slice made of energy to shoot towards his opponent. He does this twice in a row to inflict Heavy damage. [Cooldown: 3 posts]

tags. @edgar, @redmage, @gilgamesh. notes. Tried pushing this to last minute, but got bored. xD This should give you optimal time in any case, Lana. Hope you can make use of it! xD
In his own attack, the pinning idea failed once more even as his dagger buried into the mage. Instead the mage had jumped and used the impact to make a further hop away as in him just pushing the mage forward. This wasn't really working out too well, but still as he called out an Esper, it was Maduin who had appeared. It seemed neither of his opponents were too fazed about the attack. Locke thought to notice Maduin staring down towards Edgar for a moment before he disappeared. Well, this had been interesting. His comrad wasn't exactly looking at the Esper, but more focused on fighting as he had shot at the two opponents and healed himself somewhat.
Checking on the firing of bolts, the mage had simply taken the impact while the bolts seemed to simply pass through the warrior, wait, that's... an after-image. Checking on where the warrior had gone, he seemed to have been affected by Maduin's attack and was now summoning a large katana. Wait, he has two arms now? At Edgar's comment, Locke tossed the clasp towards Rojo in case he wanted to get his belt back on, but the mage was calling out to look at the sky. "wh-" Locke started as sudden spikes of ice came about, "dammit."
As Locke tried to start moving again, he wasn't planning to check the 'skies' as the man implied. Instead he started to move around the arena as fast as he could when the lightning bolts started to hit down, but got hit by what seemed to be like flying energy. It appeared that Gilgamesh wasn't going to sit still either. "That's it," as his form instantly disappeared in a single leap. After images appearing around the arena as Locke's body entirely flickered around the area. He was appearing everywhere at the same time as he suddenly was striking at both Rojo and Gilgamesh in quick succession, having used Mirage Dive to deal as much damage as possible. This attack meant to greatly weaken both of them as it was his ultimate attack.
Using it, he hoped to avoid most bolts, having already felt some of it. As the dive ended, Locke appeared at the side of the arena and held out a full Magicite as he now called upon Phoenix. "O Shrouded Ones, you're going to eat a lot of pain!" A large bird appeared with bright red wings above him as it flew through the arena, leaving a trail of fire before suddenly the entire arena was engulfed in flame from the Life Giver. Bolts of fire blasted out at the two enemies while both Locke and Edgar was restored of their health and any status ailments that might've affected them.
Actions [1] Tried to dodge most of the Thundaga before being hit by Razor Wind. [2] Used Mirage Dive to start moving at incredible speeds throughout the entire arena and deal immense magical damage to both Rojo and Gilgamesh, thus weakening them greatly.
