Chip and Dale's Double Trouble Birthday Cup The town of Disney is all the rage on this day. Balloons are hanging from every available surface, and the entire town is nearly covered in either confetti, or devices to spray confetti. A special event was underway: Chip and Dale were given permission by Minnie to throw a huge tournament for everyone in the town. Because they were such a great pair, they wanted the tournament to show of the greatest two man teams in all the worlds. Now, here they sit behind a tiny announcer's table, with tiny microphones, jumping excitedly at the start of the tournament. Where there was once a gazebo, now stood a tile arena floor, very similar to Olympus Colliseum's arena. "Oh boy!"Yeah, Chippers, we got a great match for everyone!""Mhmm! First up is-"Posting Order: @locke, @edgar, @redmage, @gilgamesh

tags. @edgar, @redmage. notes. Woo~ Let's get this started!
With a leap Locke came onto the stage, he had signed up for this tournament with his good friend Edgar. Here was hoping the people would enjoy watching the treasure hunter fight. He was certain that if there was a great two man team, it was them. Looking over his shoulder to see where Edgar was, he motioned him to get over to him.
Pulling his dagger out and taking a fighting stance, the treasure hunter stood ready. "Let us give them a fight they won't soon forget!" he called out with a smile as he looked over to the other side for his opponents. He had called it out in hopes to see if there was any reaction from the opposing force they'd be receiving.
It had been a while since he actively took part in any good fights. Especially with others of the Returners. Locke hadn't seen them since this weird fiasco happened. Apparently Kefka was back, Edgar was hitting on men, Sabin was traveling the worlds, and even Terra was somewhere out there. Right now he really wanted to try and find all of them. Check if they were safe. He did make a promise after all.
Still, that had to wait for the moment. Locke was looking forward to this little tournament and was certain the others were very capable of handling themselves. He didn't exactly know where to go to start with. How to find the others or where to go to search for them. So as he'd be fighting, he could very well gather information in-between. By entering the tournament as well, he'd create some fame and use that to get information more easily. At least, that was what he expected to happen. made by kiwii at btn! rebuild by metus at khmm! | |

Edgar really had no idea why he had agreed to this. It was certainly a role reversal. Normally it was Edgar talking Locke into doing this sort of crazy thing. A tournament? They had a lot more important things that they really should be handling like locating Terra. She was missing at the moment and Edgar was to blame. A true gentleman should always be able to defend a damsel in distress, even with overwhelming odds. But, Locke's assurance that there would be plenty of women there that would surely love to cheer on a well dressed and strong kind had really pushed him from his indecision.
What gentleman would break the hearts of such beautiful young maidens? It certainly would not be him.The King of Figaro shifted up onto the platform in the Olympic Coliseum, his eyes drifting to survey the crowd as he bowed his head and blew the audience a kiss.
What? He WAS a romantic at heart!
Once the King had greeted the audience, certainly managing to woo them with his charm and abundant charisma, he turned his full attention to Locke. They two of them were certainly an odd match up at a glance. A Thief and a King. Especially with Edgar's feelings toward that type of profession. However, Locke was a close friend and true ally. They had fought Kefka side by side and defeated the man, even after his ascension to the status of a God. At least he did not retain that same Godly strength with his reappearance. There was no way the Returners could face him at full strength with them being scattered across these new realms they knew nothing about. Edgar had been quite lucky with his travels, but not so much with his attempts for courting the lovely women of these worlds. The first being a very effeminate man named Dieter. Though, he certainly was equally as strong as Edgar's dear twin brother Sabin. The next, disappointedly, being a girl the young Relm's age named Kairi. Then, an esper by the name of Maeve which freaked him out a bit and a married woman by the name of Lunafreya. Though, he didn't mind the married part, she seemed to be a bit more hesitant on that manner.
He'd been sure not to tell Locke these details. It was bad enough that Sabin had witnessed the man he'd hit on. The thief would be sure everyone knew and that would cause Edgar to die of embarrassment. He had no idea that Sabin had given him all the details.
Edgar chuckled at Locke's excitement as he drew Longinus from his back and positioned himself to prepare for their opponents that would enter from the other side of the field. He had no idea who they would be fighting this round. "You are quite cheery today. You think there's going to be a nice reward if we make it to the final match, I take it?" He teased a bit as he took an offensive stance as well. "I'm looking forward to the female groupies we are sure to get. I pray you weren't lying about it. You know how I feel about trusting a thief. So, give it your best." He joked again as he nudged the man's arm a bit with his elbow.
"But seriously.... what's with the talking rodents hosting this event?"

"And so there I was, my subordinates were all cowered in fear as I stared on the evil six-armed demon. I lashed out to her as she attempted to strike me with each of her blades and hit her with a powerful ice spell. The ice was cold enough to even seal this fiery demon in a massive block of ice. But that wasn't enough, oh no, I needed to make sure her terror could no longer ensnare the innocent people of the world. I shattered the ice, and her-"
"Hey you two are up!"
Rojo was in the midst of telling another harrowing tale to the young maidens of another world. This world was hosting a tournament, and everyone knows Rojo is awesome at tournaments. First off, this guy was extremely rude for interrupting another tale of the Red Wizard's! The women only appeared bored because they didn't want to appear overly enthusiastic in front of their friends. Why everyone should be completely entranced by the powerful stories Rojo told of the young underdog and his three apprentices taking on all the evils of his world.
"Alas, young maidens, it seems the conclusion of this story will have to wait until after I earn my victory."
"Thank the gods..."
"Yes, thank the gods that you'll all find out how this ends!"
With that, Rojo turned toward the stage and burst through the entryway. A brilliant flash of his candy apple red cloak caught in the breeze as he did, and the Red Mage smiled as he heard the silence of the audience as they watched him enter. They had no idea what they were in for. The Red Wizard of Light was one thing, mostly because he was obviously a superior threat, and he was in no way boasting his accomplishments.
"Rejoice people! It is that time again! When I last fought at the Hades Cup I hit a snag. I have learned from that mistake and I will not disappoint my people again! For those of you who don't know me, you all are in for a treat. Long ago, there was a dark threat upon a distant land. Four powerful fiends arose and began to rot the entire world. One man stood tall to end these threats, alongside his three prodigee. On my world, only legend speaks of the hero, RRRRrooooojjjoooo, the Red Wizard of Light!"
Now that his short, but sweet, introduction was out of the way, Rojo finally gazed at his opponents as he made his way to the ring. The first was a guy in dark browns with a handkerchief. Rojo got the feeling he should hide his GP pouch from this one. The second was a man dressed in ornate fabrics with long blond hair. How on earth did he plan on fighting in such a formal garb? Take Rojo's apparel for example, he wore his brilliant fashionable cloak and cap on top of his red tinted mail armor. His look was useful, yet fashionable; he could teach this blonde man a thing or two about fighting while looking fashionable.
"You two unlucky chaps are in for a treat. You're looking at the man who single-handedly felled Chaos and the four fiends! I conquered the Mistletoe Mayhem Cup as well, without breaking a sweat I might add. Although that may have been because of the bitter cold."
Rojo almost forgot he had a partner to introduce as well! He wouldn't be too happy if Rojo missed his cue to bring out his ally for this endeavor.
"As for my partner, allow me to introduce him! He is the only person I have ever found, and can consider him an equal. That's right he's also powerful beyond all measure! He's capable of single handedly breaking through four walls at a single time! Here he is...PREPARE FOR TROUBLE!"

A silence fell over the crowd as Rojo finished his announcement. It lasted just long enough for everyone to think that Rojo was actually thinking he counted as a tag team by himself. Then... "AND MAKE IT DOUBLE! IIIIIIIIIIIIIT'S MORPHIN' TIME!" The voice was instantly recognizable as it bellowed through the arena. How often had the audience heard it during the last tournament? How often had that same man shouted about how he was the greatest swordsman in the worlds? And in the Hades Cup, he had certainly proven his worth. Loud bangs were heard as confetti shot out over the entranceway from cannons. Then a giant of a man clad in red came out, holding the Hades Cup trophy aloft for all to see. The crowd leapt to their feet as cheers erupted through the stands. The color commentators were aghast. "No way! NO WAY! YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!", one said as the other exclaimed, "I cannot believe this! Two former champions, former opponents and bitter rivals have now TEAMED UP TO FIGHT IN THIS VERY RING! This tournament has already become one in the history books!" The chants of the man's name echoed off the walls as the man handed off the trophy to a trusted attendant. Gilgamesh had finally returned... home. He stood by Rojo, looking out at his opponents. One seemed to be royalty, if the way he did up his hair was any indication. He seemed a tad overdressed for this event and more interested in the ladies of the arena. "Bwahahahahahaahahahaha! It looks like you got competition in the dating department, Rojo! The other one seemed more like he belonged here. Certainly rough around the edges, to be sure. He looked like the kind of man who stole clothes of soldiers and impersonated them! Gilgamesh shrugged off how oddly specific that was and dashed into the ring, jumping up and landing right in front of the duo. He then got into his favorite Kabuki pose and smirked at his opponents! "It would seem that, once again, I, THE ALMIGHTY GILGAMESH, must fight one of royal birth and his lackey! I only hope you can put up as much of a fight as the last one did, although neither of you seem to be the building-throwing types! No matter! IN ALL THE MOUNTAINS AND SEAS OF THE UNIVERSE, THERE IS NOTHING THAT MY SWORDS CANNOT CUT! Now, if you don't mind, allow me to slip into something EQUALLY AS COMFORTABLE! LET US FIGHT GLORIOUSLY!"And with that, Gilgamesh was suddenly enveloped in a bright light as it seemed to consume him. It was a rare thing for the audience, who had never seen Gilgamesh transform in front of them. But what would the form be? And would it be able to help them defeat Edgar and Locke? Only time and a bunch of yelling would tell. ------------- (Rolling for Many Faces of Gilgamesh: RZCtHT4y1-8) The Many Faces of Gilgamesh: Due to Gilgamesh's visits to many worlds, he's undergone many different appearances. Looking a bit with a grin at Edgar as he followed, Locke listened to him until the end where his look became more annoyed. "Hey! I prefer the term TREASURE HUNTER, how many times do I need to spell it out for you, lecher," he replied as he turned his head towards him while loosening his stance. Straightening himself, he continued: "honestly, we'll gather some fame here and it'd also make it easier for us afterward when we need to get information. People will love us!" he claimed with a smile.
It was then that the first opponent appeared, a whole speech followed. This earned him a curious look from Locke as he listened to Rojo's ongoing speech. It appeared he was a competitor in a previous tournament, also speaking about certain fiends. Honestly, Locke didn't know what to make of it. If anything, he could go on to speak highly of himself on having beaten Kefka, but if he wanted to sugar that bit, he'd probably go with defeating the God of Magic himself rather than a rampaging jester.
As the man pointed at them, Locke gave a smirk as Rojo introduced himself now officially towards his opponents as the man who defeated apparently an entity called Chaos and his Fiends. He assumed these were the same fiends he spoke of before. The other part of conquering a certain tournament spoke more highly to the treasure hunter. It was then that he also introduced his part... In earnest, he never expected two of the most gloating and prideful people to face them as he heard this man speak about how his swords could cut the forces of nature themselves.
Hearing the crowd speak how two former champions had paired together as a team, Locke turned to Edgar and motioned towards the two opponents. "Hear that, these two are likely the most famed competitors in this entire tournament. Sounds like we hit the jackpot of fame, our names will resonate through the stadium if we take them down," he grinned, interested how two champions of previous tournaments had decided to ally themselves. Though, if all was true, this was likely to be a very difficult fight. And the two did enough boasting that Locke didn't even want to compete in that department, they can have that win, but he was taking the other.
With Gilgamesh enveloped in light, Locke raised an eyebrow in curiosity. Then suddenly he dashed forward with a call: "he who makes the first strike takes the initiative!" Dashing from side to side, the treasure hunter leapt at the transforming figure of Gilgamesh as he tried to plant his dagger into the champion's shoulder and cut through it in an attempt to make him unable to use one arm. See if he can cut down mountains then. made by kiwii at btn! rebuild by metus at khmm! | |

Edgar laughed a bit at Locke's defense, renaming himself a Treasure Hunter as he normally corrected. He wasn't necessarily wrong, Locke was not a typical thief. That's likely why the two were working together at the beginning when the Returners were created. "I jest, Locke. You don't need to get so defensive every time." He smiled devilishly with his half glance in his partner's direction. Locke continuing on his genius plan. "Well, if we win a few matches you're likely correct. A little bit of recognition would go a long way. I certainly wouldn't mind using some of mine for a little personal gain." He winked at Locke.
His attention was pulled to the huge attention seeking red bulls-eye that entered the field. Edgar raised an eyebrow as he entered the field, glancing at Locke. "Wow, that outfit's a little flamboyant for a man. That, or he really likes that color. He certainly should get someone else's advice next time to help pick out his outfits. That's more like a woman's traveling cloak. No fashion sense. Poor man. It's a shame." Edgar commented with a soft shake of his head, more caught up in the attire than what the man was even saying. Locke spoke up, filling in the blanks of what this odd little man was saying. This guy was a former champion? Heh. That was a joke. "The only way a guy like that won was if he was fighting children. Or, if he bored them to death with his talking. But good news, we win this match and we've got the fame we need to gather info and get the ladies." He joked as the two chatted. Edgar really paying the red mage no mind.
Rojo introduced his teammate and this odd looking creature entered the arena. The theatrics were a bit over-dramatic. But, if gave the two Returners a moment to get a good look at their opponents. It seemed that the other one entering the stage had a fetish for the color red as well. "They have to have the same valet. Those poor men. After this match, I think I'll give them some fashion advise. Make them look like actual men rather than children."
Gilgamesh began to speak, essentially complimenting the King. Edgar smiled a bit in response to the discussion the two on the other end of the field were having. "Not my lackey, Gilgmash, if I might correct you. He's a.... 'Treasure Hunter'. But, also a dear ally. I don't need a lackey for protection. I'll prove my worth to you, as well as the beautiful and intelligent woman awaiting our victory in the stands." He bowed his head slightly toward the woman, slightly adding to the dramatics. If that was how they were going to play it, Edgar could smear on a bit of charisma himself. After all, his charisma had saved their lives in the past when a bar-maiden had divulged the Empire's plans to betray them. He was quite good with the ladies. After all, all the women of the worlds would mourn his death. Not that he would disappoint the poor ladies by dying too soon.
Edgar's eyes flicked to Locke as the man announced he was making the first strike before dashing at Gilgamesh. Well, he was fine with backing him up a bit before targeting the mage. Well, he presumed he was a mage with the getup. "Ha! You think you're trouble? We'll make it double. Cause, there's two of us. Ha!" He laughed a bit to himself as he prepared himself, raising his arm with Longinus clasped tightly in his grasp. He would blind the two opponents to give Locke a fighting chance. He cast Flash to blind all the targets. With Locke's back being to Edgar, this meant that only the red clad men would be afflicted.
Once the flash went off, Edgar moved swiftly to advance on Rojo. This would, hopefully, keep his attention on Edgar rather than Locke. Once within range, Edgar securely planted his feet to position his attack. He clasp his trusty lance tightly between his hands and pulled it back to add a bit more power to the attack before pushing it fast and hard forward toward the red mage. Maybe the blinding would give Edgar a clear hit, but he would have to wait and see.
1) Cast Flash to attempt blinding both Rojo and Gilg so the next attacks might hit.
2) Advanced toward Rojo to use a basic attack with his lance.
Flash - This tool emits a light that blind all targets. [Duration: 1 Post | Cooldown: 2 Posts]

At last Gilgamesh had made his entrance as Rojo's partner in this endeavor. Enemies everywhere were doomed when faced with their awesome prowess. It was bad enough they would have to fight one champion, but now two?! There was no hope for these obvious amateurs in front of the Red Wizard.
"AHA! Now with the two of us together, we'll make certain you are treated like the rookies you are!"
With his chest popped out he immediately heard the regal looking fellow talk down about his wardrobe. What the hell did he know?!
"I'll have you know the greatest tailor in all the worlds fashioned my brilliant cloak. His fame and popularity have tripled since I am a walking billboard for his excellence! You know nothing of fashion! With a get up like that, I'll bet you like to hit on little boys!"
He in turn heard the man say something about finishing this battle quickly so they could gather info and get with the ladies. It didn't take anything for Rojo to immediately turn and see the beautiful women he mentioned. He dashed to the edge of the arena and removed his hat to bow before her.
"Hello, gorgeous! Your name must be Bermuda, because I could get lost staring into those beautiful eyes."
A bright flash interrupted his obviously successful attempt at wooing the ladies. He turned around to see the beggar attacking Gilgamesh and the uptight looking guy charging at him. Rojo quickly drew his golden blade, and attempted to dodge the thrust of his reach weapon. All he managed to do was turn a lethal blow into damage in his shoulder.
"You cowards would attack me with a cheap shot like that! You have no honor! That royal looking outfit must be overcompensating for something! ....HONOR!"
Rojo then jumped to the side and quickly cast a spell. The ground beneath Edgar burst into a pillar of flame. It's not one of my stronger spells, but a Fira ought to heat things up. Man, that's a good one! I'm gonna have to share it!
"That ought to heat things up! Gilgamesh, I'll let you have the next attack."
Then, the Red Wizard of Light cast another spell, as he waited for the blonde haired man to recover. Gilgamesh would begin to feel everything in his body move faster. Haste would make the swordsman's attacks much more deadly. Rojo would provide support as Gilgamesh proved to be their main offensive.

( Battle music) As Locke dodged and then drove a knife into Gilgamesh's shoulder, he would that the strike landed a bit higher than he intended. It would also feel as if the knife only dug into steel, not flesh. The answer would arise as the light began to dissipate. Instead of the man in red with the impossibly big mouth, an incredibly tall man in purple clothes and armor appeared. He also had only one arm, the knife hitting the pauldron of the nonexistent arm. The other arm held a sword that, while certainly bigger than most normal blades for normal humans, was perfect for Gilgamesh. Three other swords appeared at the arena's corners, embedded in the ground and bound by long chains, with one corner lacking a sword. Even more worryingly, this man exuded a purple aura that seemed to be invite dread. The crowd went silent. They had never seen this form of Gilgamesh. It was so different from the rest that they wouldn't have believed it was Gilgamesh if they hadn't seen the transformation firsthand. Gilgamesh then looked over at Locke, eyes aglow and filled with menace. "Brandishing your brute force? That will do little to impress, O unworthy one." Gilgamesh then jumped high into the air just as Edgar pulled out his Flash Tool. Only Rojo would have to suffer the lack of sight. Gilgamesh then landed behind Locke, slicing him with his sword as he did so in a Jumping Slice. He then unleashed a combination of slashes as the fires of Rojo's Fira spell engulfed Edgar. Gilgamesh spun around, slicing at Locke's torso, then two diagonal slashes to criss cross Locke's body before Gilgamesh sliced at Locke's neck, seeming to intend to remove the thief's head from his shoulders. "Only those with both might and mettle can hope to best me in the field of combat. None whose fear grips their heart has a prayer." Then he felt his breathing and movements quickened as Rojo cast Haste on him. Gilgamesh let out a long breath, his form of thanks for the assistance. He then flipped over to Edgar, now far more agile than his size could possibly allow. He then unleashed another combo, first, a diagonal slash. Then Gilgamesh swung low at Edgar's legs before trying to slice the king twice across his stomach and chest. He continued to slice and slash at Edgar, his movements almost blurring from the Haste spell. ----------------- 1) Gilgamesh uses Jumping Slice to dodge the Flash Tool and bring the pain to Locke. 2 & 3) Gilgamesh unleashes to combos at Locke and Edgar, the latter made faster by Haste The Many Faces of Gilgamesh: Due to Gilgamesh's visits to many worlds, he's undergone many different appearances. Listening on the topics being thrown around, Locke could tell that Edgar was quite capable of talking back to the red-cloaked man. But hearing this Rojo talk on and on, the treasure hunter felt the man might be unbeatable in the craft of talking. A thing that Edgar poked fun of as well, "honestly, I think you're right. His constant boasting and talking has some effect on me already," he replied, seeing the red mage turn to the public as he was moving forward. His initial strike came upon metal as the imposing figure of the man had finished changing forms. Taking in the form of the brute, it seemed much more slender and appeared to lack an arm. That was all he could quickly make out when the man suddenly jumped and a flash happened. It seemed Edgar was working his tools. Locke attempted to start a dash to see above where the other went when suddenly he got struck in the back. With his readied leg, Locke turned rapidly on the spot as he saw Gilgamesh make his next attacks. Bringing up his dagger, he blocked the strike as his other hand went quickly at the large man as he quickly tried to Steal something from the swordsman before he quickly leapt backwards to avoid the next strikes upon him. Using his agility, the treasure hunter flipped back and hopped a good distance away to stay out of reach for the man, but it appeared he had turn to Edgar instead. Taking in the conflict, Locke concluded that Rojo was mainly the ranged force while Gilgamesh made up the frontline. It didn't really work out too well for them, perhaps Edgar had some tools to deal with Rojo, but he wasn't exactly a swordsman or a tank. His gear was meant for agility and using quick strikes while making sure he avoided as much damage as possible. Still, the treasure hunter had a few small aces up his sleeve. Instead he quickly checked on what he had just taken from Gilgamesh. Checking his clutched hand quickly, his eyes went from his hand to the combat that happened to see if Edgar was alright. Then he would dash back into the fight as well.

Edgar was extremely unimpressed by his statement about his outfit. There was nothing manly or dapper about it. It was nothing but flamboyant. It truly was that simple. "I'm not quite sure what you mean by billboard, but it certainly wasn't for how well he does when it comes to appropriate men's attire." Edgar commented with a shake of his head. He continued to be unimpressed as he used such a horrible pick up line on some woman. What was he even talking about? Bermuda would be such a horrible name for a woman. The poor thing if that was truly her name. His flash seemed to be completely uneffective on both of his combatants, which was a bit of an annoyance. He was starting to wonder if the ability even had a use. It never seemed to work.
But, he focused on the real issue here. Rojo's horrible pick up lines. "Please, if you're going to use a line about her eyes..you should say something that actually makes sense. Like..." Edgar took a split second to come up with ones. "Do you carry another weapon with you... besides those eyes. Or.... Do you have a map? Because I am getting lost in your eyes. Maybe even a 'I never need to see the sun again because your eyes light up my world'." Edgar half tutored as he worked on focusing on their battle. He HAD already attempted to jab the man with Longinus.
Rojo had pulled a rather gaudy looking blade. He somehow managed to dodge and only have his shoulder injured. At least it was something. It's not like Edgar wanted to kill anyone today. What really got him was the horrible comeback that he shot out. He was overcompensating... for Honor? What was that supposed to mean? "Cheap shot? This IS a battle. Not a talking contest...I'm sure you'd win that, right Locke?" The King half defended, knowing that Locke was probably too busy to be joking around.
Edgar pulled his lance back as Rojo jumped to the side, casting a fire spell. He didn't seem to have much choice in dodging. So, he braced himself the best he could. He brought his left arm to shield his face as he felt the fires hit him. Honestly, this was nothing compared to the magic that Relm and Terra had hit him with when they felt he was being a bit too 'friendly'. The King was more than relieved when he felt the heat dissipate, removing his arm from his face. He was certainly a bit crispy now, his cape singed from the fire.
There was not too much warning for the next attack. He had missed Rojo casting haste on Gilgamesh due to his shielding his face. He heard the movement of the blade coming from behind him before he heard anything else. But, there wasn't much he could do. The only good part was that he had his armor clad boots on that took the sharpness away from the blades and spared his tendons. The bad part was that it still hurt and he would surely have a serious bruise after this match.
Before the second part of the combo came, the man spun on his toes to face gilgamesh. His singed cape flowing around him as he did with a strong and serious expression as he braced his lance into the sand of the Coliseum and supported it with both hands to take the attack. He couldn't rely on his ankles to brace the attack without some assistance from his lance. The onslaught seemed to continue after the initial three attacks and Edgar continued to brace himself.
The King took a moment to figure out the pattern to the one armed man's attacks before picking his tool of choice. Leaving his lance in the ground, Edgar pulled out his Drill knowing that the noise alone might catch his enemy off guard. The King was rather well known for his tools and trinkets. He jabbed it forward, stepping out from the defense of his spear before stepping back and dismissing the tool. He wasn't sure if he'd made any contact or not, but the noise was hopefully enough to force Gilgamesh back. If not, it certainly did some damage. The next step was to keep the mage at bay. He grabbed his spear and took a few steps back before casting Bolt near the red mage, kicking up some sand from the arena. It had worked for him in the past back in Figaro. Maybe it would work here?
Edgar was injured by Fira and beginning of Gilg's combo.
Actions: 1) Blocked end of Gilgamesh's Combo 2) Uses Drill at Gilgamesh 3) Casts Bolt to distrupt the sand and try and blind Rojo
Drill - Pierces through a target with a powerful drill. It is more effective on enemies with a strong defense. [Cooldown: 1 Post]
Bolt - A low level thunder-elemental attack that injures the target. [Cooldown: 1 Post]

The battle was in full swing, and Rojo and Gilgamesh's enemies had made a horrible decision. They chose to focus on Gilgamesh's new form, which was honestly kinda frightening. However, this left Rojo completely capable of doing as he pleased. He began by casting Protera.
"Your pickup lines are as weak as you are! I'll bet your dry spell is so extensive it creates a desert around you!"
A thin, white aura covered both himself and Gilgamesh, as he saw the shady looking man attempt to swipe something from his fearsome partner. What kind of guy was this? He would prefer to steal from his opponent than deal damage to him? An odd one to be sure. However, Rojo knew what he was doing was the right thing as he saw the regal looking fellow pull out a weirdly shaped lance. It then began making a loud noise and started to seemingly rotate at high speeds.
Rojo decided that it was time to go through with a full on offensive. As he did, a lightning bolt struck the ground near him, and he saw confetti take off into the air, singed by the blast's impact. As bits of colored paper and ash scattered into the air, it obstructed his vision somewhat. He knew he wouldn't be able to aim a spell properly, so he would go into a closer range or use spells with wide areas of effect.
"Your aim is atrocious! Why my battle against Tiamat I had to fight bound and gagged! I can easily deal with a little hampered vision!"
The Red Wizard took off, darting not towards the enemies, but his ally. As he closed the distance between the two, Rojo turned his full speed run into a sliding dash, casting a spell that released just as he slid beside his fearsome-looking ally. Immediately, the entire arena erupted with large blades of ice ascending. Even if he was completely blinded he could hit his enemies with this, provided they were on the ground anyway. Blizzaga was probably his most reliable area of effect spell in this regard.
After Rojo cleared Gilgamesh, he slid to a stop, just in front of his one-armed companion He ran his hand along his blade, and it released a loud sound wave towards his enemies. Confuse would hopefully disorient the two in front of him, and leave them wide open for his ally to open with a full-on onslaught.
"You're out of your league! One day you can aspire to be as great as we are!" -=-=-=-=-=-=- 1. Cast Protera 2. Slid next to Gilgamesh and cast Blizzaga 3. Cast Confuse

The banter of his companion and his opponents remained unremarked upon by this version of Gilgamesh, something that would be a new experience for those who had borne witness to his previous fights. His focus seemed entirely on the fight at hand, which was a good thing for him, since the one of royal blood seemed to turn his attention to him. Though Gilgamesh was unfamiliar with the weapon Edgar was using, he was quick to assume that it would be very painful. Gilgamesh caught the drill with his sword as it threatened to pierce him, sparks flying as steel met steel. An ungodly racket was heard as the drill ground against the sword, while Gilgamesh tried to push the drill away from his body. He mostly succeeded, though the drill caught him in the side as it passed. "A king who is able to fight is a rare thing indeed, but only a foolish one would dare fight me without his Shield to protect him. You will learn to regret that." Gilgamesh said, his voice reverberating through the arena. Gilgamesh also felt more protection as Rojo cast a spell on him to shield from further damage. It would seem that despite first impressions, the both of them weren't too bad a team.
As Rojo slid towards Gilgamesh, the Blademaster reared back with his blade, the sword pointing towards the ground. He then drove it into the ground, causing purple energy to explode outwards, injuring any fool stupid enough to stay close to Gilgamesh, aside from the Red Mage of Light. Once the energy subsided, Gilgamesh's broadsword vanished from his hand and appeared in the vacant corner outside the arena, bound in chains. Another sword, the biggest of the swords in the arena corners, teleported itself to Gilgamesh's hands. He raised it out of the ground and rested it on his shoulder. Then Gilgamesh moved about until he, Edgar and Locke were in line with each other. He then lowered his sword and energy gathered into the blade. Once it was fully charged, Gilgamesh dashed forwards in the blink of an eye, leaving afterimages behind as he thrust forward with his sword. He intended to get either Edgar or Locke with the attack or even both of them, if fate were so kind.
--------------
(Took some damage from a mostly blocked Drill)
1) Redirected Edgar's drill to be less piercing to Gilgamesh's flesh
2) Used Sword Switch to switch to the Greatsword and attempt to injure anyone too close to Gilgamesh
3) Used Dash Thrust to try and skewer Edgar, Locke or both of them.
The Many Faces of Gilgamesh: Due to Gilgamesh's visits to many worlds, he's undergone many different appearances. With some practice, he has managed to access these different forms, though his control of them is... well, it doesn't really exist. An eight-sided dice is rolled to determine which form he takes when combat starts. [Forms are numbered 1-7; Form is unchanged at 8] Gilgamesh's default mode is Rift Wanderer Mode. However, should Gilgamesh arrive on a world where he had a different mode [Orience, for example], he will adopt the appropriate mode as default. If the number rolled corresponds to a form already in use, the form is unchanged.
[1] Rift Wanderer: (FFV/Dissidia) Represents Gilgamesh's time as Exdeath's lackey and his later intrusion into the Dissidia Realm.
[2] Guardian Force Mode: (FFVIII/FFVI/FFI/FFIV:The After Years) Represents Gilgamesh's more nondescript travels, where he acted as a force of powerful good and an obstacle for heroes who wish to explore everything.
[3] Elite Mark Mode: (FFXII) Represents Gilgamesh's time as the greatest swordsman in all of Ivalice and also Ivalice's greatest troublemaker.
[4] Commando Mode: (FFXIII-2) Represents Gilgamesh's time as a gladiator in a Coliseum out of Time.
[5] Eorzean Warrior Mode: (FFXIV) Represents Gilgamesh's time as a suspected thief in Eorzea. Has shown a love painting roosters green out of loneliness.
[6] Blademaster Mode: (FFXV) Represents the time Gilgamesh spent in Eos, testing potential Shields of the King to see who was worthy of receiving his power.
[7] Lorican King Mode: (FF Type-0) Represents the mysterious origins of Gilgamesh and his time as King of Lorica on the world of Orience.
Not only does Gilgamesh's arsenal change with each mode, but also his abilities. Abilities will be listed under their respective form and CAN ONLY BE USED IN THAT FORM. However, some moves are used in more than one form (Excalipur and Bitter End, for example). Any differences will be noted. [Cooldown: 3 posts]
Jumping slice: Can only be used with the Broadsword/Genji Blade. Gilgamesh jumps high into the air and then lands near his opponent, slicing at him as he lands. Deals medium damage. [Cooldown: 1 post]
Sword Switch: Gilgamesh drives his blade into the ground, causing a burst of energy around him that damages and knocks back foes. He then switches to another weapon of his choosing: Greatsword, Broadsword or Rapier. Deals medium damage. [Cooldown: 2 posts]
Dash Thrust: Can only be used with the Greatsword. Gilgamesh charges energy into his blade and then dashes to his opponent, leaving afterimages and thrusting his blade into his opponent. Deals heavy damage. [Cooldown: 3 posts]

tags. @edgar, @redmage, @gilgamesh. notes. Totally forgot this section at the top of the template.
Locke could say he was impressed with how well Edgar was handling things, still the man he was facing and fighting both in the arts of combat and words seemed like some world champion of throwing boasts all over the place. "Considering his choice to keep going back to how he beat this and that, it makes the tales more and more doubtful," Locke replied with a smirk, "he'd win a talking contest any time, but putting act to words is a whole 'nother thing." Perhaps this sentence would even strike at the man in question, he wondered if there was a way to make the man fumble and trip over his own words.
While he did try and follow the conversation, Locke's eyes were locked on Gilgamesh as he moved. It seemed the mage had thrown something that shielded the big guy. The fact the main physical fighter had only one arm made the treasure hunter feel a little more at rest. His previous form was better for bringing in more impact behind the strikes. However, the strikes he had felt were much greater than he anticipated. Maybe this form just has all that strength output in one arm, he thought to himself annoyed as he noted Rojo sliding next to Gilgamesh, "ma-ma-ma..magic... It's like it's becoming common!"
Then suddenly the mage threw out some loud sound and it messed with his head, with the world tripping, a sudden impact and great pain happened. He felt something sticking through his body as his feet were lifted off the ground and he felt himself move quickly before whatever was in his body left and he flew a bit over the ring. Hitting the ground, Locke gritted his teeth before shouting: "Nuts! And I even liked it so much when I first came in contact with it," the magicite he carried with him lighted as he started to use magic of his own while he got slightly up from the ground.
A sudden bolt of flame was sent at Gilgamesh, the Firaga would explode and engulf him on impact. At least that was what Locke hoped and with his attention to the spell, the man got to his feet while still disoriented. He attempted to move forward and attack Gilgamesh while he might be open from the first spell, but he staggered and fell back onto a knee as he moved. The combination of having his body impaled and being disoriented from the Confuse wasn't helping. Nuts, this wasn't working out as well as he had hoped. Then light enshrouded him as the hole in his body closed with the use of Curaga as he checked if Edgar was alright both before and behind him since the world had been tumbling around him.
Actions [1] Used Firaga on Gilgamesh. [2] Used Curaga on himself. [3] Unused.

"Heh. You're not wrong with your statement, Red. You just haven't realized their's or my true strength yet. I have no problem with the ladies. But, I'm sure that dearth of a love life is likely as big as that ego of yours." Edgar smirked faintly as he noticed his drill had made some contact. Honestly, he wanted a bit of distance between the two a bit more than he wanted to injure anyone. His eyes completely focused on Gilgamesh at this moment. The currently one armed man was his primary target at this moment. His statement seeming a bit odd. Honestly, Edgar was surprised that Gilgamesh had made the correct assumption that he was a king. It was understandable to presume the royalty as his garb gave that much away. But king was a bit of a step.
"And what, pray tell, allowed you to come to the presumption of my lineage? Though, certainly a compliment and correct. You are incorrect in assuming I need a shield or guard. I am quite capable of handling myself. A shimmer appeared over top of Gilgamesh silhouette, obviously the presence of magic. He truly hated the stuff, Terra and Relm being the two exceptions. Magic was not all that prevalent in Locke and his world. He only had access to the little he did due to the magicite he held, the remains of deceased espers. His eyes shifted briefly over to locke at his exclamation about the magic being almost common place here. Edgar honestly had not had a whole lot of experience with battles outside his homeworld.
As gilgamesh reared his blade back, Edgar took the hint that he wanted to give the two some space. So, he did. Edgar returned his drill to it's secret compartment before pulling his spear from the sand to retreat back. The one good thing was that he'd managed to get the magic user close to Gilgamesh. In front of him, in fact. He would only be so lucky if the blade attack Gilgamesh was using could damage Rojo. It would be a fun sense of irony. Rojo and Gilgamesh seemed to be rather caught up in themselves to notice what the other was doing. Meanwhile, Edgar was doing his best to keep an eye on Locke's actions. But, he gave Rojo and Gilgamesh a bit more credit for that to actually occur. But, maybe Rojo would get knocked over in the attack. Edgar could hope. The pain from the blizzaga erupting from the ground was painful and cold, he could practically see the chill on his breath. Then the loud noise that followed almost immediately was quite deafening. It certainly made his ears ring and slightly hard to hear. He barely heard Locke's shout about initially liking magic, taking the hint that the man was going to use some sort of magic. So, it was worth a shot. He decided to pull out and use as many tools in a row as he could possibly use before Gilgamesh's strike hit him. Edgar pulled his first tool, Debilitator, and aimed it quickly at Gilgamesh. He was hopeful it would work. This would give Gilgamesh and elemental weakness. Hopefully to whatever spell that Locke had cast.
"Well, my friend. My aim was perfect. The magic did what I hoped it would." Edgar stood his ground, fulling intending to take Gilg's attack at full force. It would keep Locke safe and give him the perfect opportunity to get in a few hits. His next tool was the one he really wanted to use first, but had changed to using second when he heard Locke. It was the whole reason about wanting to get Rojo and Gilgamesh in closer quarters. It was to be able to use his Bio Blaster to poison both of them in one fell swoop. Edgar smirked again as he quickly pulled the trigger. Gilgamesh did seem to be dashing directly toward Edgar. It seemed quite unlikely that he'd find a way to avoid the noxious gas. Then again, he didn't know exactly what the one armed being had up his sleeve.
Sadly, he wasn't quick enough to get out his third and final tool. So, he decided to use his last second to attempt bracing himself from the attack. He was already beginning to feel warn down as he planted his right foot sideways behind his left. He wasn't sure how hard Gilgamesh planned to hit him. But, he felt the contact pierce through the left side of his abdomen. But, he hoped to take the full force to keep Locke safe. "Damn. That's a sharp sword you've got there." He commented before attempting to push Gilgamesh away with his lance gripped between both hands and back up. He needed the distance as he placed his hand to his side to assess the damage. He'd sustained worse, but it didn't make the pain any less as he attempted to fumble a quick Cure spell. Sometimes magic was nice. It stopped the bleeding at least.
