Alessandro couldn't hide it and he should have known better. He was trying his damndest to keep a game face and hide the lingering fear of his impending invasion of Shin-Ra offices tomorrow from Rina. He really didn't want the last night of their little vacation to end with her worried over him. That's not how this was supposed to go, dammit! So, when Rina asked him if he was okay, he winced a little. She had led him over to the bed and planted a small kiss on his cheek. Well, if Alex wanted this to be a permanent thing, which he did, then he'd need to open up to her and share his vulnerabilities.
"Damn...Uh..."
At first, Alessandro quietly took his right hand, the one not nearest Rina, and wiped his face as if he had sweat or something to clear from it, even though nothing was there. He noticed that he had begun to brush the length of her hair with his left arm without even realizing it. He thought for another moment before he finally responded to her.
"...There's probably a very good chance I'll be shot on sight tomorrow. Legally, I am already deceased...And if the wrong person sees me and recognizes me, then I'm gonna have to talk my out of 'shoot on sight.' Three days ago I probably wouldn't have even cared if that was the case or not, but, now, I wanna think about what happens after tomorrow."
Alessandro wasn't finished, but a thought occurred to him. If he didn't make it out, she wouldn't even know who he really was. It was probably close enough to the visit that he could be honest with her, he thought. Now was as good a time as any, he supposed.
"Its close enough to tomorrow, that I want to tell you who I am. My real name is Alessandro Apollo. If you do an internet search you can probably find my obituary."
With that, Alessandro gave out a small chuckle, in an attempt to lighten the mood. He really didn't want to end the night on such a sour note. He wasn't about to dwell on his fear all night, at least not until after she was asleep. He'd dwell on tomorrow then.

Rina’s heart was quietly breaking inside of her as Alex told her that he truly was fearing for his life tomorrow. She wished with all of her being that she could take that fear away from him. He didn’t deserve that… no one deserved to feel like they were walking the slow walk to the guillotine. Or firing squad…the thought made Rina’s insides twist into infinite knots. Not even his comment about thinking about the future made her feel any better. Her squeezed tight in her chest and she just wanted to pull him into his arms and keep him safe and protected there for as long as she could. At some point she had wrapped her arms around him and her grip tightened around him. Rina listened as he practically was bearing his soul to her, a small gasp leaving her lips as he calmly told her his real name. Alessandro Apollo. Rina looked up into his face after that and it was like someone had opened a window and fresh light was brightening up the room. Alex Smith was only one part of the man that she was starting to fall for but Alessandro… in this moment…he was the whole man. The true one. When he tried to make a joke about looking up his obituary Rina jerked back from him and looked at him with a hardened face. “Stop that! No! No one’s dying!” She grabbed Alex’s face gently, keeping all of her fury behind her eyes. “You’re not dying tomorrow. I f**king forbid it. You…you’re not going to drag me onto this boat, take me all to way to Junon and leave me there because you died!” Rina jumped from the bed and paced an irritated path back and forth, her nightgown making a swish swish sound as she stepped. She whipped back around to face Alessandro, ready to berate him some more.
“You can’t. You just can’t. You can’t just come here and make me fall in lov-“ She stopped herself short. She stopped herself before she said something that was too early to say out loud and something that would make her look so incredibly stupid. Rina visibly deflated and looked down at the floor, taking in a shaky breath.
“I’m not going to let them shoot you, Alessandro."
Not now. Not ever.

The next few moments seemed to stop time. Alessandro immediately recognized the anguish on Rina's face; he saw how hurt she was with the thought that he might be gone this time tomorrow. This was exactly why he hadn't said anything. This was exactly why he didn't want to ruin this last night of their vacation. This was exactly why...why he was so worried for tomorrow. He was worried because it might be the last, and the thought of this being the last of anything with this woman brought him intense emotional agony.
He stayed silent as she spoke, letting each word weigh heavily on him. She might forbid him dying, but it still didn't change the possibility that it could be happening. However, he wasn't necessarily as worried about himself. No, as Rina talked, the only thing running through his mind was what would happen to her? Would Rina be okay? He conceded that he probably hadn't meant too much to her yet. They'd just met, so there couldn't have been that deep of a bond between them, right? She would go on to find someone probably better than him that could take care of her. Why did that hurt even more?
And then he heard her say it. Well, she started to say it anyway. He felt his insides rise into the stratosphere at that moment. He knew it was too early to say anything like that. Neither one of them could really be sure that was the case, but, maybe, emotions were speaking in the moment. No, it'd be a mistake for Alessandro to tell her he loved her. It was too early for him to know anything like that. Sure, he felt something intense for her, but he couldn't be sure of that.
He hadn't even heard the last thing he said. Short of breath and feeling the cooling tears pooling in his eyes, Alessandro simply stood up. As she looked down, he matched her stare, only for a moment. He still didn't say anything, but used his right index finger and thumb to lightly grasp the lovely Rina's face. He tilted her head up so they could look at each other eye to eye. He thrust his face into hers, locking lips with her with a fierce passion and inferno behind his sopping wet eyes. His eyes closed upon contact, and he lingered waiting a few moments, watching those scenes play into his mind again. He saw the two of them going to his apartment in Junon. He saw her surprising her with a happy announcement, accompanied by his own excited joy. He saw hardships from both ends, but, in the end, he saw Rina for who she really was. She was the one meant to bring Alessandro from the darkness and into the light. After hardships, his mind played an image of the two together, embracing after working through them. He saw their happily ever after, and he needed to live to make that happen. He released his lip lock and placed his lips upon her forehead, speaking with a muffled voice.
"I already told you you're stuck with me. I'm not letting anyone make me a liar. Rina, I promise you that you won't be mourning tomorrow. I'll make it happen. I'm not done falling for you yet."

He tilted up her head and kissed her for what was probably the hundredth time in the past three days. But this kiss… this kiss was a kiss that Rina would never forget. She would never forget the sadness, pain, and hopeless that tainted it. However, Rina could taste the longing for the future, the happiness of the memories already made, and the wish to make more of them. The wish to keep Alessandro for as long as possible. The feeling of emptiness that settled inside of her at the thought of what may happen was what finally broke the cracking dam inside and made her begin to cry as well. Alessandro moved then placing his lips against her forehead, promising that tomorrow would turn out just fine. Tomorrow would just be another day for them to grow closer.
Rina squeezed her eyes shut as he spoke, a quiet sob escaping from her lips. She forced her eyes open, so she could look at him, noticing the tears in his own eyes. A shaky hand reached up to brush them from his cheeks. Sadness didn't look right on his face. This must be why he was always cracking jokes and acting so goofy all of the time. Trying to push all of the fear and sorrow away with laughter. She held his face in her hands. And just looked. Looked into his eyes and noted how they were darker than they were before. She ran her thumb across his jaw feeling the sharp way it led into his chin. The color and curve of his soft lips and how they felt each time he had kissed her. Rina stowed all of these details inside of a box inside her mind. Just in case she would need them for later.
Her hands then went from his face to the inside of his shoulders, brushing down them to feel the strength of the muscles in his arms. Even though she felt the cotton of his shirt on her hands she was remembering what his skin felt like underneath her palms. Another detail to tuck away. Rina sighed shakily. “You’re not done falling for me…?” She reached up to wipe away some more of his tears. “I’m not done falling for you… you make me feel a way that I’ve never felt before. I want… I want to be with you, Alessandro. D-don’t leave me.” Her voice broke as she finished speaking and she threw herself into Alex accidentally pushing them onto the bed. She kissed him then with a fever and a desperation that she didn’t know she was capable of.

The moment was absolutely surreal. He could feel her begin to sob as he spoke, and he could help but think it was for the right reasons. It was because Alessandro had made such an impact that she was just shy of hysterical at the thought of loss. He'd felt her fingers tracing the outlines of his arms and face, wiping away his tears as she did. He felt this was more of an intimate moment than anything else they'd shared over the last few days. It felt so personal and thoughtful, like every action from her was so deeply thought out. It was Alessandro's statement that he wasn't done falling for her that seemed to spark a passionate fury within Rina.
It started as a shaky, barely audible statement that she also wasn't done falling for him. That, despite the gravity of the situation, made Alex's lips curl at the ends. She stated that she wanted to be with him, which, of course, he felt as well. This was an incredibly intense feeling he was having over someone he'd only known for a few days. It was a little scary to think about. How much stronger could the attraction between them become? Or would there be whiplash once the initial excitement wore off?
Rina's passion ignited after the final statement and she tackled him onto the bed, kissing him wildly. At that point, Two Guns could feel his own heart rate triple, but he could also feel hers. They both felt as if they'd begin to beat clear out of their chest. Alessandro closed his eyes, mirroring her movements with his own. He managed to find time to speak, even if it was into her mouth as lips were engaged.
"You will be with me...When and however you want...I'm not going anywhere..."
When he opened his eyes, the sadness had left, replaced by a warm glow that searched into her. His eyes scanned her over entirely, with the memory of the preceding evens etched into the stone of his mind permanently.

The pair spent most of the night in a peaceful silence, except for the handful of moments that passion enveloped them, and it was impossible to be silent. Rina often found herself in a near sleepy haze, just awake enough to kiss Alessandro and run her hands across his shoulders, chest, back, hips, anywhere that she could find in the darkness. She wanted to make sure that by the time they departed in the morning that she would be able to close her eyes and remember each curve, scar and plane of his body.
Rina had finally fell into a deep sleep around 4 am, but it was only because she was wrapped up in Alex’s arms and in his warmth was the only way she couldn’t worry about what may happen in the daytime. She had a near dreamless sleep with her only being able to recall a dream where her and Alessandro seemed to be moving into a house far from the city. You could see so many trees and the wide expanse of the blue sky. One of the things that Rina always wanted.
She wasn’t sure what would happen when they got off in Junon. But she was sure that she had found something special with the man beside her. Even if it ended up just being 72 hours. It was special and it was something that Rina would always hold in her heart.

The night continued in passionate fashion, with Alessandro and Rina in a tight embrace for hours, even though it only felt like a few minutes had passed. It was nearly 4 in the morning before he finally got his heart rate back to normal. Alessandro stayed in silence with her, arms wrapped tightly around the beauty. Alex watched her closely as she slept. He wasn't sleeping tonight. No, he was still worried about the morning, so he waited for Rina to fall into a deep sleep before he moved. He didn't want her to wake when he moved from the bed.
Two Guns carefully moved away from the brunette and went to the small couch in the other end of the room. He silently lit a cigarette and tried to calm himself down. It really wouldn't do him any good to fret about the interview all night, but he sure as hell wasn't going to be able to sleep with everything on the line tomorrow. He decided he would finish packing his bag, in preparation for the ship docking in just a few hours. With a peek outside, he could already see the faint light in the distance that told him Junon was near. As the hours passed, Alessandro managed to shower and completely pack everything. He sat both his and Rina's bags near the door.
Time passed and the first rays of sunshine peeked their way in. Alessandro, now completely dressed and ready for the day, smoked another cigarette as Junon came into view. The only thing that could really be seen was the empty place where a massive cannon used to rest. It would only be another hour before they'd be docked and unloading passengers. Alessandro sat on the edge of the bed, before he slowly swung his legs into the bed. He turned to face Rina and took a hand to brush the hair from her eyes. He needed to wake her so that she could get dressed and ready before the ship docked.
"Hey there. Its time to wake up. We're gonna be docked in an hour."
Alessandro took his thumb and pulled even more of her hair from her eyes. He moved his hand to stroke her back, down her spine. He planted another kiss on her forehead, with the intention of waking her up in a positive mood.

A small, sleepy smile began to twitch at Rina’s lips as Alessandro ran his fingertips down her bare back. His warm voice had permeated throughout her mind, but she still didn’t stir completely. Rina didn’t want to wake just yet. She didn’t want the magic of the last few days to be broken yet. It wasn’t until Alex kissed her forehead that her eyes fluttered open to look into the deep ocean of his eyes. A silly smile flashed on her lips before she squeezed her eyes shut and turned her head away from him. “Uggh… ‘Pollooooo. It’s too early.” Rina turned over in the bed, settling her head into his chest.
Rina had wrapped her arm around his side, feeling the stiff material of the suit that he had worn when they arrived on the ship. This made her eyes open fully. He was already dressed? She leaned her head back to look at him again, running her hand through his hair. She could feel a few damp spikes. He had showered too. It seemed he wanted to get this day over with as quickly as possible. Her stomach twisted into knots, but she tried not to let it show.
Instead, she pulled Alessandro down into a gentle kiss before resting her forehead against his. “Morning… I guess it’s time to go, isn’t it?” She sighed and pulled herself away from him, climbing from the bed. She noticed that her bag had been sat by the door next to Alessandro’s. He was making sure she was ready too. But she wasn’t ready. Not ready for what may happen. “I think…I’m going to take a quick shower. I’ll be out in two shakes.”
Rina’s eyes were aimed to the floor as she walked to the bathroom, grabbing her clothes for the day as she went. She started the shower and stood under the spray for a moment before she broke. Tears streamed from her eyes mixing with the water of the shower. She leaned against the shower wall, covering her hands in her face. Rina tried to keep her sobs quiet. She didn’t want Alex to hear them. She didn’t want him to worry for her. Rina’s heart was breaking in her chest. She had this feeling in her heart for Alessandro and she wasn’t ready for it to be taken away from her. Rina needed him now that she had had him. She wouldn’t let him go.
As she showered she continued to sniffle and cry, but she made herself calm down as she dried off and got dressed. Her nose was a little red and her eyes puffy, but she could pawn that off as lack of sleep. As she exited the bathroom, she made sure to put as bright a smile as she could manage on her face. Just in time too. As she made her way over to Alessandro, she felt a slight bump as the ship seemed to dock into Junon. They were here. She held out her hand to Alex.
“I’m ready when you are.”

Alessandro watched with a smile as Rina turned over and leaned against him. It was evident that she wanted at least a couple more hours of sleep, but, unfortunately, there wasn't enough time for that. Junon was already in sight, and Alessandro had a date with the higher ups at Shin-Ra. He'd hid his terror over what could be a walk down death row and managed a warm smile on his face as Rina ducked into the bathroom to shower for the day.
Considering what had transpired the night before, Alessandro thought she seemed to be in a little too good of a mood. He figured she'd hid her own fears very well. Two Guns regretted sharing with her in the moment. It would have made the trip end on such a better note if he'd have waited until after the meeting with Tseng to tell her what was going on. He'd have to make it all up to her if he made it out of this. Maybe he'd take her out for a night on the town to celebrate.
When Alex noticed that Rina had been in the shower for quite some time. He was beginning to get worried when the door finally opened as the ship settled in to dock. He couldn't help but notice how swollen her eyes looked. That hadn't been the case when she'd left for the shower. She'd been crying, and it crushed Alessandro to see that. He thought his best bet was to appear strong and confident. He'd make her believe he was no longer worried. He greeted her with a bright smile and sought to begin the next leg of their journey together.
"You got everything? When I'm done with Tseng, we can go get a big lunch and celebrate. I'm thinking a big seafood dinner. Oh! And I'll have to show you the view from the old cannon mount soon! We'll have so much we can do after I get reinstated."
Was that confident enough? He sure as hell thought it was. The two made their way out of the cruise liner and into the docks of Junon. There was no light at the end of the tunnet. The light was standing right next to Alessandro Apollo. He would have to make sure he made it out of there and treated her to something nice. He wanted her to have only the finest.
