Alessandro may have made a mistake. In celebration of his impromptu weekend getaway with a girl he'd just met, the former Turk had a shot...or three for the road, and that, combined with THE ENTIRE COCONUT FULL OF TEQUILA RINA GAVE TO HIM, had him feeling a little tipsy as he made his way for the docks. He didn't necessarily plan on getting this intoxicated, but when he had his first shot he told the bartender what was happening. The barkeep then proceeded to give him a couple more on the house. Now, he was more than a little tipsy as he walked down the stairs to the docks with a coffee in hand to get him back to reality.
Alessandro was dressed in his usual casual-formal attire. He had his untucked white button up on, with the top two buttons unbuttoned, and his black pants and jacket. Both of his pistols were tucked behind his shirt as most people didn't take kindly to people openly carrying firearms on a private cruise. However, Alex never went anywhere without his weaponry, mostly because there were still a lot of people working for Shin-Ra and he was still legally dead.
He had two tickets to the cruise in his hand as he finished stumbling down the stairs. He checked the clock on his phone, and there was only about 10 minutes left to board the cruise liner. So, he knew that Rina would be here any moment. Hopefully, by then, he would only be seeing one of everything. He leaned against a sign that read "WELCOME TO COSTA DEL SOL" and dropped his duffel bag, waiting for the hot little number he'd met just over an hour ago.

[attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"] ❝ The past hour had happened in a blur. Rina went to the beach, met a man, and was now going off with this man. TO JUNON. What in the world was she thinking?! She wasn’t thinking at all! That was a real problem! But…but she wanted to do this. The last year or so had been hell and she needed a break. She wanted to do whatever she wanted to do and if that meant making what was probably really bad decisions than that’s what was going to happen. Rina was a big girl. She could take care of herself.
Rina was making her way to the dock with her duffle bag of clothes and toiletries in her hand. She had packed a nice assortment of outfits, not knowing what they may encounter on this cruise. Her bathing suit, some casual outfits, one really expensive dress. I hope that is what he meant by Sunday best. Although... the dress wasn't something you'd wear to certain places on a Sunday. Rina was well prepared.
Rina finally approached the docks and spotted her companion near the entrance, leaning casually against the dock sign. She glanced at her phone and noted that she was 5 minutes early. Perfect. She walked up to Alex and sat her bag down beside his and smiled at the man. “Hi there, cowboy. Ready to go?”

The cool menthol of his cigarette cooled the back of his throat as Alessandro took another drag waiting on his hot date. It'd been a few minutes and each one gave him a little more anxiety than the last. What if she didn't show? If that were to happen Alex would probably just hand the second ticket out to somebody just to make sure his money was at least used and not wasted.
He flicked his cigarette into the nearby water when he finally heard her voice from behind him. The immediate rise of the butterlies and her vaguely familiar scent brought by the breeze confirmed that it was indeed the vixen he'd met on the beach an hour ago. Even with clothes on, she looked just as stunning as she had an hour ago. His heart skipped a beat or two, and a bead of sweat crossed his brow (one that probably smelt like alcohol).
"Hey there. I was starting to think I was gonna have to give that hippie over there your ticket."
Alessandro grinned playfully as he picked up his duffel bag and turned to the ocean liner. As he did a last call was bellowed for boarding. Most people were probably already on board, but as long as they made it in they'd be fine. He motioned forward for Rina to go first as he fished the tickets out of his jacket pocket.
"Ladies first. We're in the gold class on the upper deck."
Yes, a gentleman should always let a lady go first, but Alessandro had other motives. He just had to watch Rina walk just a little more to give him a better picture of what he desired. However, as he tried to follow her, he stumbled slightly from he alcohol left in his system. The coffee had helped some, but it hadn't quite made his way to his feet yet. He had quickly recovered, and hoped that his female companion hadn't seen that. In the far from graceful moment, he'd dropped his duffel bag again, and nearly smacked his head off the sign he'd just been leaning on. He looked down at the landing, to make it look as if he'd tripped over something, while picking his bag up once again. This could be trouble, but the real trouble would be had behind closed doors.

[attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"] ❝ Rina smiled and shook her head as Alex commented that he thought he’d have to give her ticket away. “What? You thought I wouldn’t come? What kind of girl would I be to pass up on a free trip?” She picked up her bag and stood in front of the man taking a good proper look at him. He cleaned up well in his white button down and slacks. His hair was still a spiked mess, but Rina liked that. It suited him just right. Rina also cleaned up as well trading in her bathing suit for some closely fitting jeans and a white ruffled off the shoulder peasant shirt. She had kept her midnight black hair going straight down her back. She felt a little silly “dressing up” as it were, but she thought it was worth it. It wasn’t every day you got to have a mini vacation.
Shortly after she had arrived the cruise ship made an announcement for everyone to finish boarding and Alex motioned for her to go on ahead. He told her that they were on the upper deck. “Oh…that sounds kind of expensive Alex…you coulda just put me in the cargo hold or something.”, she said with a laugh, turning around to see if the man had heard her. But when she turned she saw him stumbling in the sand, wrestling with his duffel bag! Rina quickly whipped her head back in front of her, using her free hand to cover her mouth and stifle the giggles coming from her lips. She shook her head in disbelief. Just what kind of trouble did she sign up for?

Alessandro saw Rina stifling a giggle as he stumbled to his feet. He was normally very dexterous, but alcohol did that kinda thing to people. Upon hearing her make her own joke about putting her in the cargo hold, Alex couldn't help but pop one right back at her. A little joke to keep the mood light would hopefully keep her in her playful mood.
"Oh, well if that's the case, lemme just exchange these!"
Knowing full well that that would warrant a look in his direction, as he marched forward, he gave a big shite-eating grin while walking past her up the ramp. The hallways of the ship were extremely well decorated with what appeared to be several valuable paintings on the walls with several bronze lighting fixtures and the occasional sculpture. He reasoned that any one piece of art on this wall cost more than his ticket.
The lighting was beautiful, just dim enough to give it that candlelight ambiance. The dark red paint upon the walls further added to the air of romance accompanying the various vases of roses. They really went all out with this one. It was almost cliche how ornately decorated the halls of this ship were.
"I think this is the right way."
Alessandro was so busy looking at signs, mostly to make sure he was finding his way to their room appropriately, to notice the first in a series of low hanging support beams. Of course, he bashed his head off of it, and immediately crouched in pain. That freaking hurt! Yeah, there was no way he was gracefully blowing this one off, so Alex just figured he'd take the verbal jabs before he continued down the hallway with his lovely date for this adventure.

[attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"] ❝ Even before Rina was in the ship all of the way she knew she was about to be in the lap of luxury. As she walked inside she was nearly speechless. The interior of the ship was gorgeous. Easily the most expensive place Rina had ever been to in her life. Some of the artwork on the walls had to be have been a fortune! Something she could only dream of owning one day. It was sort of funny though…how was Alex able to afford something so lavish if he were having the same financial troubles as she was? That was a question she would have to bother him with later because she was pulled from her thoughts by him joking to have their tickets switched with the cargo hold ones she mentioned before. He quickly took the lead, giving her a smile that was…kinda breathtaking. She mentally smacked herself at how much of a boy crazed schoolgirl she had become in the past hour. This trip was just for business. Someone helping someone out. Business. Even as she thought of that she had a hard time convincing herself that this was just for business. It had turned into something else entirely.
Rina followed behind Alex as he looked around for their rooms and she noticed that this particular hallway was a bit short on the height side of things. It wouldn’t be a problem for her but for her companion…Rina reached out and touched Alex’s shoulder fixing to warn him about the beams when *THUNK* he found out about them for himself…
Rina gasped and rushed forward to face him, looking right at his face to see if he was alright. “Alex! Are you okay?! Oh…your forehead…” He wasn’t bleeding, but there was a nasty knot towards the center of his head and it was only getting bigger. He tried to continue walking forward as it this were nothing, but Rina made him stop. “Wait a sec.” The young woman put her fingertips gently on the welt and said a small prayer in her head. Gods above, heal this silly boy…
Small green leaves fluttered down from her hand and the knot shrinked away until just a small red mark remained. Rina smiled up at Alex (Partly amused and partly…enamored?) and shook her head. “You’re clumsy.”

Alessandro rubbed his head half in pain, half in irritation for looking so clumsy. The alcohol still in his system had his normal dexterity all thrown out of wack. Normally, he could look other directions and still miss a low hanging beam like that. However, this time his inhibitions, combined with his interest focused on the pretty little lady behind him, had him completely miss the obvious low hanging piece of support steel. Alex stood up as healing magic erased all sense of the small, insignificant injury.
"Uh, yeah...thanks..Who put that thing there anyway?"
Alessandro needed something to make himself a little more charming now. So, he continued to speak towards the lovely brunette date of his.
"I'm normally not this clumsy. I must be distracted by this cute girl I just met at the beach."
Alessandro picked himself back up and began to walk down the hall after shooting another grin in her direction. Their room was just around this turn, as the signs read anyway. Alex rounded the corner and found room number 248, the exact number printed on the ticket he received. He pulled a small card from his back right pants pocket and slid it into an electronic reader on the right side of the door. He twisted the handle and pushed the door open into an extravagant room with a large bed, king size from the looks of it. It had a velvety crimson blanket upon it with matching sheets and pillow cases. The room itself featured a fairly large television on a wooden stand, two dressers, a small stand on either side of the bed with an electric lamp on each. On the other side of the room was a very expensive looking couch and loveseat with a small table between them. A desk also sat in the corner of the room with a small light upon it as well.
Alessandro held the door open for Rina as he waited for her to go in. Now, he knew he paid the extra last few gil he had for the hot tub addition, so he hoped it was in the bathroom, because he hadn't seen it yet. Everything else looked well worth what he paid, and then some. Part of him thought he probably should have saved a little bit on it, but he also knew that if he stormed into the right office in Junon, he'd at least get some hush money out of it. He was pretty sure this gold card in his wallet would also be reactivated if he did get approved to return to duty.
"Here's our room. After you."

Rina somehow managed to keep a straight face and nodded sweetly as Alex thanked her for her magic. Now that there was a smaller distance between them, Rina could smell the alcohol that he had drunk earlier. Ohh…I gave him my tequila. He must have had more to drink than I realized. No wonder he’s acting so goofy! He’s plastered!
It was then that he said he must have been distracted by the cute girl he met down at the beach. Rina couldn’t help but laugh loudly at that and roll her eyes. “Oh trust me. I’m not that distracting.” He continued to grin at her and lead her back down the hall to where he thought their rooms were.
Or…room. It was just one room. Rina checked her own ticket number and then peeked over Alex’s shoulder to check it against his ticket. They both said 248. A small ball of panic rose into her chest. He never said that it was one room! Well he also never said it wasn’t one room, did he Rina? Gods you are so stupid! Too late now. You’ve already got the ticket. Rina was so stunned at the revelation she just made that she didn’t even realize her companion was holding open the door for her until he spoke. "Here's our room. After you." Our room… Rina quickly stepped across the threshold and had wide eyes as she took in the large and lavish room. It was practically a fully furnished studio apartment. Tables, dressers, couches, even a TV and a desk. All that was missing was a kitchen! She could see a shut door across the room and assumed that a luxurious bathroom was behind it. And there was a bed too…just one of them. A king sized one with gorgeous deep red bedding. If sin were a color it’d probably be this shade of red. Or it could be the shade of red that she could feel creeping up her neck and onto her cheeks.
Rina walked over and ran her hand over the blanket. It was probably the softest bit of material she had ever felt. She sat her bag down on the floor on the side of the bed and looked over at Alex. “So…um. I take it we’re sharing…?” She cringed as her tone turned the statement into a question. “D-don’t get me wrong. I don’t mind sharing. It’s just I-I-I haven’t shared in a while and I wasn’t expecting this, and-and it just surprised me. I thought...” Rina turned even more red and shook her head.
“Wow, Alex. This place is perfect.” She laughed a little nervously and ran her hand messily through her hair, hoping to wave her awkwardness out of the air.

Alessandro waited for a moment for Rina to step in. He had stepped behind her so he couldn't quite see the expression on her face, but, in that quick instant he stepped backward, she looked shocked. Was it because he'd spent so much on this with so little money to his name? Or was it because it was a single bed room? He racked his brain to find an answer in the moment he waited for her.
He intently focused on her as she stepped in and made her way to the side of the bed. As she did, he quietly closed the door behind him, and began to pace over to the other end of the bed. He heard her stumbling through a sentence, inquiring about sleeping arrangements. So, she hadn't expected to be sharing a bed with him. How could he be so stupid?! Alex got arrogant, thinking way too many steps further ahead.
"Uh..I can sleep on the couch if you prefer. I hadn't really thought about anything but enjoying the trip."
With that, Two Guns turned to look at her and he was completely flabbergasted. The flush color her skin had taken on made her look absolutely astonishing. The small bits of light coming in bounced off her skin in just the right way to make her seem like even more of an absolute knockout. He felt the corners of his mouth perk up in a very warming smile as he couldn't help but stare in the moment. As she talked of it being perfect, he could only say two words.
"...my God..."
The voice left his mouth in a tone barely audible, just a hair louder than a whisper. That fluttering feeling in his chest rose once more, and all he could do was focus. The moment seemed to drag on for hours, days, weeks, months, years, even an entire lifetime. In that moment, all he could see was the future. He saw a studio apartment in Edge City, then two kids, both girls, a beautiful ceremony, unloading the first boxes in a small villa outside of Wu Tai, grandkids, everything. He saw a future. The moment completely sobered him. It was an experience he'd never experienced before. This was...perfect...

Rina immediately felt bad about complaining. She probably sounded so ungrateful, but she really was happy to be here. And now that the shock had worn off…if Rina were being honest with herself she had probably done worse things than just sharing a bed with someone she had just met. A smile graced her lips as he offered to sleep on the couch. That was pretty noble of him. She shook her head and went to nervously move her hair to lay across her shoulder. Her heart was beating something crazy in her chest and she just wanted to move past this moment in her life. She looked back up at Alex.
“You know…I’d rather sleep on the couch before you do. I’m your guest. We can sha-…what’s wrong?” She didn’t notice it at first, but as she looked up she saw that a smile unlike anything she had seen on Alex had appeared on his face. It was a soft smile that made Rina’s soul warm up. It seemed to spread over to her and she smiled back at him, her cheeks turning even more pink. She couldn’t help but avert her eyes from his deep blue gaze.
She laughed and slightly turned away from him, going to pick up her bag so she could act like she was about to unpack. “What is it? Why are you looking at me like that?” The smile was still bright on her lips though, with no intention of going away.

Alessandro was completely frozen in place. He was absolutely captivated by the tenderness of this moment. He saw Rina in this light, and the butterflies completely took control. He had heard her ask what was wrong, but it completely went in one ear and out the other. He couldn't focus on anything else for a moment or two. After a few seconds, his wits finally came about him. She was asking him a question, and he was frozen like a deer in headlights.
"You look absolutely stunning. Sorry, I kinda froze for a second."
Alex finally moved to place his bag on the other side of the small table. He then turned away from her and pulled one of his two pistols from the back of his waist, where it had been concealed, and placed it into the night stand. At that moment, he heard the horn signaling the ship was to begin moving. No backing out now, not that he'd want to, anyway. This felt right, in so many ways.
-----
A few short hours passed and Alex found himself on the deck of the ship, watching the sun set. Dinner had been fantastic, with a famous chef catering the event. However, the food wasn't the reason it was amazing. This was turning out to be the picture perfect first dae, and he still had a few more days to go before they'd reach Junon.
"So, I think the red sun setting is a good thing to sailors, or so the old myth goes anyway."
The orange and crimson light began to wash over the deck of the entire ship. A small quartet played a soft piece in the background. The piece was absolutely perfect, or it would have been had he not remembered why he knew it. This was one he'd heard Corneo play time and time again when he was "scouting out talent." Alessandro shuddered for a moment before shrugging the thought off.
"Can I have this dance?"

Rina's eyes opened wide. He said I looked stunning...? Butterflies breezed around her stomach and seemed to flutter against her heart. Alex moved to the other side of the bed, and Rina's heart nearly jumped into her throat. She watched as he removed a gun from the back of his pants, and she was able to see the outline of another gun there as well. She remembered how scared and paranoid the man had been earlier that day. It actually made her feel sad. Rina could see him as the type that always walked around heeled, because he was waiting for the worst to happen. She wished she could put him at ease, so he wouldn’t have to feel like that. At least for a little bit. She walked to the foot of the bed and had a question on her lips for Alex but was interrupted by the sound of the ship's horn. She felt a slight tug in her stomach but wasn't sure if it was the force of the ship moving forward or if it was a teenage like nervousness she felt from being with Alex. She'd just have to stick around and find out. She'd save her question for another time. ------------------------------ This can't be real. It feels real...but it's too good to be real. Rina was musing quietly beside Alex, only a few inches between them. The sun was starting to set, and the night was beginning to turn cool. Rina’s black evening dress was doing nothing to keep out the wind. Trying to be as casual as she could, Rina scooched closer to Alex pressing their shoulders together. At least my arm will be warm…
They watched the sun go down, Alex commenting how a crimson setting sun was a good thing. She thought so too. Rina took a small breath and reached out to curl her arm around Alex’s. Maybe it was forward, but it also felt right. Natural. It seemed to happen just as her companion asked her dance. Rina’s cheeks flushed, and she dipped her head down. “I’m not very good. Your toes might suffer.” Rina looked up and grinned at Alex. She slid her hand over his arm and into his palm. “Lead the way, cowboy.”

Alessandro couldn't help but notice how stunning Rina looked in her tight fitting black dress. He made every effort to keep his eyes from wandering, despite every ounce of him wanting to give her a full visual examination. The way she leaned into him warmed him up despite the cool night's air. As she grasped his hand and stated that she wasn't very good and to watch his toes.
"Its all good. Steeltoes."
He then lightly kicked the toes of his shoes onto the ground and winked at her. His lips then curled into a humorous, yet devilish smile. Alex raised her arm into the air and twirled Rina before bending her over backwards and catching her in a bow.
"I think we'll be fine."
He chuckled lightly, but something was wrong. As his hand held her between her shoulder blades, he realized she must have been freezing. Her skin was even colder than the night's air. Alessandro rose the both of them to a standing position before releasing her from his hold. The former Turk then removed his jacket and gently wrapped it around his companion's shoulders.
"That's much better..you must have been freezing."
Alessandro was still wearing his white button up shirt, loosely fitting and unbuttoned to give him that more casual look. Before continuing he unbuttoned the sleeves on his shirt and rolled them up. Now that his jacket wasn't concealing it, the opening on his partially unbuttoned shirt revealed the edge of a tattoo on his chest, a bee hive he had gotten during his time working under Don Corneo.
"Now, shall we begin?"
Alex led Rina into a large opening on the deck's floor. He placed his right hand on her lower back and grasped her right hand with his left.
"I'll keep it simple...right..left...right.."
He spoke softly so others wouldn't hear him giving her pointers. He led the way in a slow methodical pace, keeping his eyes directly into hers and the song transitioned into another, slower song that would be easier to follow.

Alex’s hand was warm and inviting all wrapped up with Rina’s. She ran her fingers over the inside of his palm feeling the rougher parts of his skin. Most likely from years of handling weapons and getting into fights. She couldn’t help but laugh when he tapped his boots on the wooden deck, a quiet thunk resonating around them. He then spun her around gently and tipped her backwards before bringing her right back up. Rina giggled and rested her unoccupied hand against his shoulder. “Steeltoes, huh? If you say so.”
Rina noticed that the hand that wasn’t holding hers was pressed in the space between your shoulders. Her heart started to beat quickly in her chest and she almost pulled herself from Alex’s grasp. The short time that they had spent together made her feel comfortable with him. Comfortable enough to wear the dress with the cut out back, exposing the expanse of her pale skin where a mapwork of pink and silver scars made pathways. The way she had worn her hair that night indeed covered most of it from view, but she hadn’t counted on a wandering hand to find them instead. Before Rina could move though Alex moved first, removing his jacket and placing it around her shoulders. If he had felt the mottled, uneven skin against his hands he didn’t mention it. The jacket didn’t keep out the coolness completely, but the sweet gesture wasn’t lost on Rina. She let him finish rolling up his sleeves, before leaning forward to place a small kiss on his cheek. “Thank you, Alex. For all of this.”
She let him lead her to an empty spot, his warm hands taking a hold of her hand and waist. He softly told her which way to move her feet and she tried her best to keep up and not step on his feet. Alex’s blue eyes hadn’t left her face at all as they danced, and she was sure they were staring right into her soul.
They danced and danced. Rina had lost track of how many songs that had been played around them. At some point she had leaned her head down against his shoulder. The smell of his cologne filled her nose and the soft sound of his breathing had lulled her into a serene trance. It was just the two of them in this moment.

"Of course! Its worth the money for an experience like this."
As Rina kissed his cheek, Alex felt the butterflies once more. The small, cute gesture was enough to cause Alex's face to nearly glow crimson. The man who'd didn't take much seriously was taking her seriously, and it felt amazing.
Alessandro held Rina close as they danced. She wasn't very graceful in that regard, but it was ok. The moment was very much worth it. After the first song or two, she seemed to find her rhythm, but Alex was still kinda glad the boots were steel toed.
"See, you're getting the hang of it."
The songs seemed to move seemlessly, and, after awhile, Alex felt warm inside as Rina leaned her head into his shoulder. It was such a sweet moment, that he wouldn't dare interrupt it for anything. The sun fell into its resting place as the moon came out to play. He hadn't really kept a look at the time, but everything seemed to stand still.
Eventually, their dance just turned into a stationary position, as Alessandro did nothing more than sway his and her hips left and right while staring into the moon. The moon itself held a beautiful silver light the helped illuminate the already electrically lit deck of the large cruise liner.
Alex didn't say much as the time passed, enjoying the silence and the feeling of this beautiful woman leaning into him as he swayed back and forth in rhythm with the music. Eventually, the band stopped and people began to leave. Alessandro paid them no mind, barely even noticing.
His mind went though the events the led to this moment. How could a hired thug for Don Corneo walk the path that led to this moment? He did a lot of things he came to regret during those years. Then, Shin-Ra found him, and Alex began to see a way out. He could leave his lawless lifestyle and pursue an honest lifestyle. This was before the inner Shin-Ra became as corrupt as it was in the end, of course. Now, he had the opportunity to spend this beautiful cool evening at sea with an even more beautiful woman.
Alex snapped out of his trance, finding that he was humming the first song they started dancing to. The thought of Corneo earlier stuffed that song deep into his head. It had a new meaning now, a positive meaning. That song would not permanently be etched into his head as the song he first shared with Rina, the beauty in front of him.
He also found he was absently tracing a line he'd felt in her back. It wasn't a seem on his jacket or her dress, and he realized it may have been a scar. She had found herself into a similar lifestyle to his own, so it was very possible. With that feeling he stopped and, instead just held his hand there, not drawing any attention to that fact.
Alex stared into the bright moonlight as the four lighting fixtures turned off one by one. The only lights on board the ship were some stringed lights scattered above and the beautiful moonlight above. Finally, Alex decided to break the silence.
"Tonight has been amazing."
With that, Alessandro reached up and lifted Rina's head to meet his eyes. He then slowly leaned down and kissed her deeply. The moment felt right as Alex closed his eyes to take in the moment., and he immediately felt warm. Not only that, but he felt a momentary panic. Maybe he'd done this too soon. He wasn't sure, but it sure as hell felt right. He opened his eyes and spoke once more.
"You are amazing."
