The town of Rabanastre was bustling city of bazaars, shops and hunters checking in with their clans. Ordinary people going about their day-to-day lives with little cares in the world. And in one apartment lived the Black Mage of Light, Alwyn Finis Schwarz. A pale man with glowing yellow eyes, he wasn't much of a fan of crowds. Or noise. Or generally being around any group of five or more people. It wasn't necessarily due to agoraphobia. Alwyn just preferred the peace and quiet of his room, curled up in his bed with a nice cup of hot tea, reading a book. Any book would do, but since Alwyn had arrived in Ivalice, he'd taken to studying Ivalice's magic. For what it's worth, he'd be considered an accomplished mage, enough to win him some regard in the magical community here. However, he was still quite limited in the spells he could learn. Point of order, he couldn't learn ANY more, it seemed. As much as he tried, he couldn't break his limitations. It was something of a lucky boon that he helped the landlord of his apartment building, an elderly female seeq, with a nasty monster that was bothering her son, an accomplished Hunter. So for now, he was allowed to live in the building free of charge. However, he was unsure how long that would last. He'd have to find work and soon.
Looks like I'll have to get back into the "Light Warrior" gig. Alwyn thought this with a rather despondent feeling. It wasn't that he hated being a Hero, but he had thought he left that kind of life in the past. Besides, it just wasn't the same without his friends around. Perhaps he could teach magic. Or assist some other mage in teaching magic. Just because he couldn't cast the spells didn't mean he couldn't assist others in learning and casting them. Of course, he'd probably just get Hunters looking for a quick coin. That also really left him feeling a bit depressed. Magic was to be used responsibility. It wasn't a toy, it was a weapon just like any sword or spear. How many times had he seen arrogant mages on his world go out into the world to hunt some dragon or giant and have their magic backfire horribly? He sighed and continued reading, sipping his tea. It was a book on Scions, creatures that had fallen out of favor with the gods and sometimes assisted mortals with phenomenal magical power. Hmm... perhaps they were the key. A light breeze blew through the room, cooling Alwyn a bit as the ambient sounds of the city could be heard. It was just quiet enough to be sort of peaceful.
It didn't last long.
Suddenly, screams could be heard in the streets down below and bird screeches could be heard in the sky. Alwyn looked outside to see panicked crowds getting to shelter as quickly as possible. His brain said that he should close his window and stay inside and way for the proper authorities to deal with the situation. His Heart told him that he was a Light Warrior and they always helped out. As Alwyn grabbed his staff and hat and closed the window before heading downstairs, he wondered why he didn't just listen to his brain more. As he made it to the ground floor, the landlord was talking to some people who'd just made it inside. Apparently, some idiotic Clan Hunter killed a Dive Talon and then stole their eggs for food. Unfortunately, Alwyn didn't get a name of the Clan or he'd pay a visit himself. More importantly, just outside, a Dive Talon landed and was walking toward the apartment building, apparently seeing some juicy morsels. Alwyn pushed through the fleeing people and cast Thundara at the Dive Talon, giving the last shock of its life as it lay dead in the streets. He turned around to the landlord and shouted, "KEEP THEM INSIDE AND IF ANYONE COMES BY ASKING FOR SHELTER, LET THEM IN QUICKLY, BUT KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED AND EVERYONE AWAY FROM IT." Before she closed the door, the landlord shouted back that the Talons usually populated the Westersand and Alwyn should head in the direction of the West Gate. Alwyn ran towards the West Gate, navigating the streets filled with panicked civilians, using weak spells to either deter or kill the Dive Talons. He hoped he wasn't the only one out here helping out. Sure, he saved a world, but he had help.

The Dark Knight’s verdant eyes widened in surprise at the sound of panicked screams, his right hand instinctively darting towards his unfavored blade – a temporary means until Ivonne and himself could hunt down the necessary materials to salvage his precious blade. It feels so foreign Dieter thought to himself as his fingers settled into the groves, unpleasantly surprised at the rigid, unworn material as it dug into his flesh. His head craned in the direction of his window, shocked to see a giant shadow eclipsing the light that had been flittering into the room just a moment prior. What in the Empyrean Plains is that? Before he could get up to investigate, a familiar screech echoed through Rabanastre. Why were Dive Talons attacking the city? They preferred their seclusion, seldom bothering to pester hume unless desperate for food or if someone pillaged their nesting grounds.
Without further delay, Dieter rose to his feet, his robes billowed around him as he’d stormed from his room. He’d glanced up and down the hallway, uncertain of which of his clansmen were present within the Hall. It’d take far too much time to knock on each door and it was a waste of his breathe to shout and scream for them to ready themselves. How else could he deliver the message? The answer was actually doubt by Nils’ desk, a singular monogram, its’ source of power a single shard of magicite that amplified sound waves. How did he know that tidbit? Well, he wouldn’t of it weren’t for Nils boasting about its’ fanciful design. He’d quickly made his towards the flight of stairs, one of his alabasters hands gripping the banister as he’d vaulted over it and plummeted downwards. Surprisingly enough, Dieter landed without breaking his ankles by spreading his legs ever slightly just before impact. The same instance that his feet connected with the ground, he’d propelled himself forward using the balls of his feet.
Ignoring Nils’ concerned expression, Dieter ripped open the back of the monogram and proceeded to plunge his hand into the machine. His fingers felt for the fragment of magicite, a periodic wince slipping from between his lips when he’d connected with something other than what he was searching for. However, he felt the familiar drum of magick energy beneath his fingertips. His eyes fluttered shut as he’d examined the magicites’ wavelength, taking a moment to synchronize with his own to amplify its’ effect.
“Helios Ambition, Rabanastre is under attack… prepare for battle, prioritize the protection of civilians.” Dieter’s voice echoed through the clan hall, despite its’ normal timid nature, it’d grown into a booming roar. He’d wrenched his hand free of the monogram, ignoring the sting as a piece of metal slit open side of his left hand. Before Nils could instruct him to wait, Dieter had already stormed out of the clan hall, entering into the ensuing chaos. Not to far off in the distance, Dieter saw Alwyn’s conjured bolt of lightning crash down upon a Dive Talon in mid-flight, its’ entire body went rigid before it’d crumpled lifeless to the ground. Dieter’s eyes scanned his immediate surrounding, noticing a rapidly descending shadow heading for an unattended child, a mother’s distant screams intensifying. Before it could fully descend, Dieter’s hand had already extended in its’ direction.
“Destruction of nature, gather in flame! Fire!"
A plume of amaranthine flames exploded from his hand, harshly connecting with the side of the beast. Not only did this draw its’ ire but it’d also successfully managed to knock it off the course of its’ intended target. It gave deafening screech as it’d flapped it wings and turned to face its’ aggressor. Dieter glanced down at the Dalmascan broadsword, he’d pilfered from the Clan’s Armory. Hopefully, it holds up..

L Cassialyn had just gotten herself up. She had allowed herself to sleep in a little bit today seeing as she had been up a good few mornings early for training. She was allowed to slack off once in a while to rest up. She was still not the happiest person in the world with her newest roommate, but she pretty much ignored the girl's presence whenever possible. It seemed to be working for the two of them so far. She didn't even know if the girl was in bed or not. She didn't even look or care. Cass got herself dressed and brushed out her hair before she heard Dieter's voice. She visibly jumped before she stood up and glanced around the room. He wasn't in the room. He must have been yelling rather loud from how clear he sounded. So, the city was under attack. WONDERFUL. What was SHE supposed to do about it? Cass let out a rather defeated sigh as she collected her athame and secured it to her hip before moving quickly out the door, shutting it carefully behind her before headed toward the entrance. She was getting good at navigating herself. She simply had no idea where Dieter was. Hopefully she could catch up to the man. She was of no use by herself and she really didn't have the will to kill anything yet. The dancer moved down the steps as quickly as she could, always moving gracefully. She made it to the bottom and was out the door before Nils could even say anything. The surprise being the rather large amount of Dive Talons in the area. What were they doing in town? They didn't usually like people and kept to their own territory. She headed down one of the side streets to make her way toward the center of town. The alley was rather deserted as she kept her pace. She knew that there was always a larger number of people congregated. This was crazy. Why was she outside doing this again? It was safer inside and out of harm. She rounded the corner of the alley and ran square into one of the fiends. Cass fell back onto her butt as she looked up at the creature. It was bigger than she remembered. "Yeah.... I should have slept in later...." She told herself as she scrambled to her feet and worked to move around the creature as it spread it's wings and screeched. This was SO not good. Cass headed toward the fountain as she turned to face it, spinning as she did to start one of her attacks. There wasn't much she could do as he flapped it's wings to get up into the air, knocking her backwards just after she managed to get off a Polka. Cass slide back and into the side of the fountain as the creature did not seem bothered by her attack. Well, at least it's next attack wouldn't hurt as much. Cass pulled her athame and crossed her arms to brace herself for the attack, unaware that she about to get some help from a kind stranger.

[attr="class","tgg"] [attr="class","TheGreatGatsby"] 自由自在 to be free; completely unrestrained. ……She did not just seen what she just saw did she? For that split second in time, she THOUGHT she just saw dieter leap from the top of the stairs down into the reception area where she and Nills were currently sitting at. Nills being at his desk working on the day to day paperwork being dump in his lap. The never ending war the strange creature fought wasn’t located in some battlefield her and the restof their merry group were accustomed to, but a war of diplomacy and words mix in the normal weaponry of numbers instead of creations made out of iron and steel.
His was more complicated than that. He’s fighting the same sort of fight Tataru normally wages. Thinking of that devilish midget sent a chill down her spine in which the blond knight hurriedly squashed under the proverbial heel of a mental boot. Hey, she had an image to uphold. The same one that’s being tested by Dieter’s latest stunt. ’I didn’t just?....’ She hurriedly thought. Inch by inch the growing horror dawned on her. That split second she let curiosity guide her head over to glance at the fast approaching presence of the man. Was…. The bloody moment he decided to scar what precious innocence she had left! For the love of all the twelve deities… he jumped… JUMPED from the second floor banister. She wasn’t bothered by the thought of him busting a few bones what… got her into a state of disbelief was well…. His clothing being a robe…. And his aversion to follow any normal minded male in wearing trousers underneath aforementioned piece of clothing. Now connect the dots, connect those tiny dots that led to exactly what kind of vision practically laid unholy hell to the child’s questionable mindset.
Let’s say to remain child friendly we wont even mentioned how the force of the wind fighting against the man’s descent to the earth or how the bottom part of his ensemble practically bellowed out, whipping out the fabric of his robe the same way a mischievous school boy would lift a female’s skirt. Guessed what she saw? Good… at the very least the man wore some sort of underwear….or she would have tossed him into a peste pit hog tied. The book on her hand cluttered noiselessly onto the floor. Long forgotten by Dieter’s abrupt entrance. Slowly her brow followed suit, inching upwards as she followed him with her gaze.
She kept her silence just a bit longer, as her fellow knight practically scrambled onto the Nu mou’s desk with reckless abandon. She didn’t take the normally demured knight for someone who would willingly abandon decorum. How interesting… she mused internally. Until be plucked a crystal right out of device within the nu mou’s possessions…. Something told her…whatever it was, would be giving her some form of discomfort later on. Something also noted to her she would be wishing to bury the tip of her boot up his arse….
Boy did she guessed right when that crystal all but amplified his voice. For a girl who…. Has just as sensitive hearing as she does. Being so close to him while hes doing his announcement was not very pleasant. If you count her hands immediately stuffing themselves to save her hearing. Her ears were ringing right after his first sentence. Under attack? If she wasn’t busy trying to check if hadnt gone deaf yet. “Oh for Hydaelyn’s mercy must you really scream out?” She snarked out. Hesitantly removing her hands from her ears but the man was already out of the door before his fellow knight had a chance to hurl a book at him. Under attack… the girl finally took notice of his statement. What followed next was the same hand she previously used to block her ears now palming over her face while she muttered a few choice words under her breath.
Dive talons…oh how lovely, toss something that’s equal in ferocity with a territorial Gagana into a settlement loaded with people. Now that she noticed it, she had been wondering just what the hell was causing those screams. Now she knew… with a defeated sigh she grasped onto the hilt of her blade. She was ignoring the protocol to wear armor now wasn’t she? Merely clad in her casual clothing meant that. She didn’t have the luxury of changing when there was an emergency…. Another grumble as she hefted her large blade and without waiting for the rest she was out the door, trailing after Dieter’s rushed steps. It was… absolute chaos….. the noise, the screams and the child that’s about to be disemboweled by one of the damn creatures. A little girl… clad in rags she recognize was the same style of clothing worn by the children under Dieter’s care. Whats more the terrified child had her back pressed against the sandstone brick of the fountain… she must have tripped while running judging from the fresh wound bleeding on the child’s knee. But the fear…. Bloody hell she didn’t bother waiting for Dieter or Cass now that she saw the older female rush out and practically get assaulted by one of the damn buggers. She landed close enough to just child… meaning she dragged her own talon over to the one….
She didn’t bother finishing that thought. She acted by sheer unknown reason as to why she decided to play the damn hero. But she’s doing unsheating her sword in midway before sliding in between the child, Cass and two creatures. Raising her sword up just in time to block the upcoming blow headed for the young girl before a burst of dark energy crowded the young knight. Her pathways to the abyss reopened once she casted dark side. Yet the visible effects danced around her body as an eerie force of dark miasma roaming around her form acting as some form of thin veil. Her eyes though held the most of it. The eerieness caused by her blood red orbs multiplied. This time… as though the very pits of the abyss stood behind those blood red orbs. The beast gave a growl, it expected its talons to be stained by the rich red liquid the child has on its body. NOT the hard surface of a sword. It growled, shoving more force into its next swipe causing the girl to grunt at the pressure while the second bird tried to get another strike towards the dancer. Why the hell was she staying around?? She quickly parried the upcoming strike moving her large cleaver to cut through the beast’s chest area before kicking it away just as the wound she caused began splaying blood. At that point she ignored the creature flopping on the ground. Not breaking her momentum she jump for the second, her small body successfully landing on the creature’s back before diving her blade into its back just as the large bird began to notice her presence on its back. The flow of blood staining her clothing made the child appear like some of sort of mass murderer collecting victims. With a twist of her wrist she plunged the blade deeper into its flesh. Just as it started to struggle. Twisting the blade for maximum damage as the serrated edges wrecked its own havoc. “Run if you don’t want to die yet,” the girl hissed, jumping off just as the beast managed to shake her off, sending her tumbling on the ground.

Living near the Muthru Bazaar had its benefits. For one thing, getting food was literally a few steps away, which was convenient when you were the type of person that had little fondness for the outdoors or crowds or crowds that were outdoors. Unfortunately, the downside was that if you weren't using the Moogling, the only way to get to the gates that led out of the city was a long, circuitous route through the Shopping District at the East end of the city. Compound that with panicking crowds and huge, ravenous, angry birds and Alwyn was not having a good idea. He was almost ecstatic to get to the courtyard because at least that was relatively empty, except for the guards who were trying to stave off the Dive Talons. However, Alwyn then saw two women and a small orphan girl getting attacked by the Talons. One of the woman had what looked like a small dagger in her hand and fear in her eyes. Definitely not a Clan Hunter, then. Alwyn thought. He had also been keeping a sharp eye out for anyone that might be suspicious, but was out of luck in that regard. The other woman brandished a huge damn cleaver and were those blood red orbs?! Sheesh, she almost made Marilith look tame. Unfortunately, despite the rather messy bloodbath she created, she was shaken off of the Talon and joined the other woman and child on the ground. Alwyn sighed.
Just like old times, cleaning up Rojo's messes.
Alwyn ran to the group and slid into the center. The Talons squawked in surprise and rounded on the mage just in time to get hit by Alwyn's Blizzara spell. Icicles appeared, surrounding the two Dive Talons and stabbing them, freezing the two Talons dead. Their bodies fell to the ground with an audible thunk. She looked at the three people he just saved and then at the lady with the cleaver. Just after very quickly deciding to avoid further encounters with this woman in the future, Alwyn nodded and said, "Get these people to cover, pronto!" Alwyn then ran for the Westgate, which had been kept open due to fleeing guards not shutting it. As he went through, he stopped dead in his tracks. A whole flock, dozens of Dive Talons were heading for the city. This was a way bigger problem than Alwyn had realized. Just how many eggs had been poached? There were still people in the entrance, cowering for their lives. Alwyn jogged a few more feet and then used his staff to emit a light of some sort. He seemed to be trying to draw the flock to him.
I must look stupid, but there's no way I can let this flock into the city, Alwyn thought as his light display gained the notice of the flock of Dive Talons. He could hear the protests of the people behind him, trying to get him to stop before the birds came and ate them all. Alwyn would have none of it. All he needed was them to get close. The flock dived towards Alwyn like bullets from the sky. Alwyn waited, staring them down. Then as the leader of the bombing raid got just below the city walls, "THUNDAGA!" Alwyn yelled as the dark clouds suddenly appeared and huge, deafening bolts of lightning struck the flock, dispersing the entirely lot as their bodies fell to the earth. Those not caught in the spell's range and the ones already in the city heard the bolts and the cries of their brethren and immediately took off flying back to the Westersand. The Dive Talons had been routed, but Alwyn wondered for how long.
Alwyn finally allowed himself to take some deep breaths, having run all over Rabanastre and used a lot of his magic to fight the Talons. He barely heard the people that had been cowering in the shade of the West Gate applauding his victory over the pounding in his ears and head. He had foregone the hero gig for a bit longer than he thought, it would seem. Alwyn then noticed a guard who apparently hadn't fled and walked over to him. "Hey, you need to get all the guards in Rabanastre."
The guard looked at Alwyn with a confused look on his face. "Aren't the Dive Talons gone, sir? The problem's solved." the guard asked. Alwyn rolled his eyes and put a hand on the guard's shoulder, gripping it tightly. His eyes glowed with irritation as sparks of electricity, a side effect of his spell casting, arced away from the corners of his eyes. Idiot guards were the bane of Alwyn's existence. It reminded him how a group of pirates managed to take over Pravoka with barely any resistance.
"Tell me, O guard of the West Gate, do Dive Talons regularly attack the city?"
"Er... uh... not regularly, no."
"Not at all is what you were trying to say. Why do you think that is?"
"... Because they're timid of people and naturally passive besides?"
"Good answer, now what would make them want to attack a whole city of people, something you just said that they don't do?"
"... Someone took their eggs? Or children? And brought them here?"
"Which meeeeaaaans..."
"I should get as many guards as I can and search the city for the criminal who disturbed the natural order of things?"
"VERY GOOD! Why don't you get on that?" The guard nodded and ran back to the city, getting his fellow guards in the courtyard to come help him. He was not about to argue with a mage who just fried a whole host of Dive Talons by himself with seemingly little effort. Alwyn sighed as he took off his hat and dusted himself off with it. He could be enjoying a book on Scions at this moment with a nice cup of hot tea but now it looks like he was going to play detective. The Muthru Bazaar seemed a likely place to start. First place the poacher would go to would be the bazaar to sell off his ill-gotten goods. And he knew just the bangaa to speak.

| Dieter’s hazy verdant eyes drifted shut as he’d momentarily directed his attention inwards, temporarily blocking out the entirety of his surroundings – none of it mattered for a few precious seconds. The Dark Knight paid no mind to the Dive Talon’s deafening screech, nor the sound of its’ talons as it’d raked across the cobblestone as it’d attempted to right itself and face its’ aggressor. He’d rotated his wrist once or twice in rapid succession, teasingly flicking his blade outwards in a last-ditch effort to get a feel for its’ balance. Only once he’d felt the Dive Talon’s rancid breath bombarding his face did he bother to permit his eyes to open. His leg muscles visibly tensed as he’d shifted his weight to the balls of his toes, firmly pressing down with the balls of his feet to propel himself backwards.
His quick reactions sparred him being gouged by the Dive Talon’s blackened claws, their razor-sharp tips drifting just an inch away from his face. The instance that his feet collided with the cobble stone, he’d shifted his weight again and propelled himself forward. His blade flashed outwards, its’ freshly sharpened edges biting deep into the fleshy winged-appendage – robbing of its’ ability to take flight. Without relenting, Dieter continued to surge forward and pressed himself flush against the avian’s chest. His sword angled so that it’d pierced the soft tissue between its’ visible ribs, the tip of his blade biting deep into its’ internal organs. When he’d rotated his wrist, he’d felt the steel as it’d rended the soft-tissue and grated against the bone.
His foe couldn’t even cry in alarm, its’ body collapsing limply to the ground; motionless. Out of the corner of his eyes, Dieter saw Cassialyn’s silhouette by the fountain, Sofia, one of the orphans he’d acted as a caretaker for cradling her head. Before he could say a word, Dieter saw one of the beasts descending to target its’ perceived prey. His eyes narrowed, his sclera momentarily turning as black as tar. However, he’d suppressed it when he saw that Ivonne had arrived as well, her blade finding purchase upon the beast. However, his reprieve was short lived as the Dive Talon shook off Cassialyn, another one joining its’ comrade. Fortunately, Alawyn made a timely appearance, recklessly charging into the midst while slinging a frigid spell.
Countless Icicles materialized nearly instantly, immediately lurching forward and burying themselves deep into the offending beasts. Meanwhile, Dieter had already sprinted in their direction, effortlessly maneuvering through the frantic crowds – undeterred by their resistance. If anyone bumped into him, they’d find that despite his stature, they’d be the one to stumble backwards. He’d paused to take a knee by their side as Alwyn muttered some command and sprinted off.
“Are you okay?”
Dieter asked to the trio in general, while also plunging his sword into the ground, his eyes fluttering shut as he’d began to invoke a series of spells. His lips moved rapidly, the magick energy around him fluxing as thick green miasma flowed outwards, coalescing into a sphere which immediately shattered. This signified the activation of Kiyomori , which would grant Sofa, Ivonne and Cassiyln with the boon of Protect & Shell . However, that wasn’t the only sword art he’d invoked, if they’d dared to look down, they’d notice that a pentagram had extended outwards and its’ energies flowed upwards into their bodies. This was a Samurai’s skill, Masamune, it’d grant them with the status effect of Haste & Regen . So that would tend to their injuries, not to mention increase their survivability.
“Ivonne, will you be able to protect them if I follow that man?”
Before his comrade could answer, the sky darkened ominously before innumerable deafening bolts of lightning struck downwards. It’d landed in the midst a cluster of Dive Talons, its’ effect evident as countless ones crumpled to the ground lifeless.

T his was NOT what she expected for the day. She certainly should have just stayed home and in her nice warm bed. This was ridiculous. She was not built for this sort of thing. The young dancer had closed her eyes to brace herself till she heard a metallic ping of the talon hitting the steel of a blade. Cass opened one of her amber eyes to see her roommate. She wasn't quite sure why the woman had appeared to her aid. That is, until she felt the young orphan grab her leg. Cass blinked and looked down, lowering her arm, before picking her up. "Sofia... what are you doing out here!?" The young girl burying her face in her shoulder with the small sobs. Cass rubbing her back before sheathing the blade with her free hand. Her mistake was beginning to open her mouth to say thank you to Ivonne. ".... I guess a thank you is in or-" She was cut off by Ivy's slicing and dicing of the large beasts. Cass closed her eyes at the right time before being splattered by the blood of the beast. It. Was. Disgusting. Cass felt sick to her stomach as she held the child and sort of just stood there. Completely skeeved out. She was covered in blood. It was bad enough seeing a creature suffer or die. It was another to have someone purposefully do this. Or, Cass was convinced it was on purpose. Ivy speaking up finally that they needed to run if they didn't want to die. She would have told her that she didn't need or want the help. However, with the kid being involved she didn't want to exasperated things. She just glared daggers at the Dark Knight as she moved to hop up on the fountain to move so she could get out of the way better. Though, to be at least a little helpful, she decided to cast a spell on the beast. She began to spin to cast her Slow Dance, the young orphan still in her arms as she did. However, it was short lived as she stopped when the two creatures were struck dead by the blizzara spell that a passing black mage had cast. He appeared, gave some instructions, and was gone. Cass blink a bit before stepping down off the fountain next to Ivonne. Her eyes noting Dieter as he approached. "We're fine... it's not our blood....someone decided it would be funny to splash us with blood...." Her eyes moving to give Ivy a disapproving look as she shifted the young girl on her hip. "We can handle it..." She answered for Ivonne before setting a more settled down Sofia to her feet. "Just stick close, Sofia....we'll get you cleaned up once we get you back to the other kids.... Dieter.... should we go check on them?" She asked about the orphans.

[attr="class","tgg"] [attr="class","TheGreatGatsby"] 自由自在 to be free; completely unrestrained. “It’s that or die. Take your pick.” She bluntly retorted. The nerve of the little… the words she wished to use to describe the older female was far too graphic to be penned on paper. All you have to know, is that its bad enough to cause the pirates back at Limsa to spit their ales out. That’s exactly where she learned it from. Both them and hearing Fray use it with little regards to whoever hears it. Exactly the reason she adopted her guardian’s view. She gives absolutely zero fucks what others think of her. Her head still spun, a growing migraine simmered at the side of her head as her form hit the ground. She must… have really did hit her head. The girl concluded just as the thought did she finally noticed… the dark red wetness lingering on her forehead, ignoring the other two she reached up. Touching the sticky stain before bringing down her hand to see.
Blood… The fall caused her to scratch open her forehead on the concrete. Brilliant… Another grumble followed by a hidden wince as she moved. She wasn’t too worried about the dead bird. She made too sure of a job that it was dead. But by the gods this is why she hated dealing with bastards with just clothing on and no form of armory. It… hurts like a bitch. Lucky for her, she was an expert in keeping the pain away from her face. Keeping her normal disinterest façade firmly intact. She glanced over at the mage then over to a rushing Dieter. Of course… one of the orphans and then add Cassialyn to the mix well she’d be surprise if Dieter hadn’t rushed sooner. But really it wasn’t her job to start questioning her comrades love affairs. It wasn’t a subject she wanted to touch or understood for the matter. She kept her silence, only nodding to the man’s question before raising a brow at his sudden command. It was the same time the other man rushed off right after giving another set of order. What was she? Chop liver? She glowered under her breath.
A crackle in the wind suddenly stopped her thoughts dead in its tracks. Instinctively, she glanced up to view the sky. Following the sudden disruption within the flow her eyes widened in surprise to see the clouds gathering as through some form of magnet was drawing them in. Well that explains it… “Thunder….” She muttered the name she heard numerous times from black mages. But to see this powerful of a version of it. “I…don’t think its needed…” The girl sighed pointing out to the blond haired man that the stranger probably dealt with the issue already. Damn…A black mage. A powerful black mage. Oh hell, she could just imagine how many of ones from Hydaelyn would kill for that spell.

Alwyn sighed as he tried to get through the small crowd of people trying to congratulate him on a job well done. He really tried to not seem too annoyed but he hated loud voices in his ears and all the damn touching. It didn't help that his inherent shyness was on full blast, especially thanks to some of the flirtatious looks he was getting. Didn't these people realize he had a job to do. He made a slight show of thanks and that he needed to hurry to find out the source of the problem and eventually the crowd took the hint. He walked back to the courtyard, brushing off his clothes. He then looked up near the fountain. The two women were still there, along with that child. They had been joined by... another woman? Must be some sort of Clan of Amazons or something. Alwyn scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. They probably didn't have nearly enough time to get to cover before he had routed the birds. Talk about losing your head in the heat of the moment.
"Quite beautiful gals, aren't they?"
Alwyn nearly jumped fifty feet in the air at the sudden voice next to him. Another guard had snuck up behind the black mage and just started bantering like they were old friends. "Though I should say, don't get any ideas with the Dark Knight. He's a guy that just looks pretty, is all." The guard helpfully pointed out the new person that had joined the duo of women. Why was this man continuing to speak to Alwyn like he didn't do anything? That information was pretty pertinent and probably would cause a lot less stressful social interactions in the future. However, the guard could've done that without giving Alwyn a heart attack. Alwyn turned and scowled at him, causing the guard to realize his faux pas.
"Could you NOT sneak up on people?" Alwyn said, a bit too loudly. "I just got done doing bird extermination! I've still got adrenaline in my system, man, you can't just spook a wizard like that!" The guard immediately apologized and Alwyn sighed again, trying to calm himself down. "Right, sorry... you know who they are? They wouldn't happen to be part of a Clan, would they?" At this, the guard brightened up a bit, as he had already heard some of Helios's Ambition's exploits, namely Dieter's.
"Ah, I believe they're the clan, Helios's Ambition, sir. A new up-and-coming one, if my memory serves me correctly. Before you ask, I assure you, they had nothing to do with the probably egg theft. They're honorable folk, like Clan Centurio. No, we're gonna look into some of the more unnamed, hidden Clans. The black market types, you know?" The guard bowed again before jogging off to assess the situation, leaving Alwyn to stew on this about. It made sense, after all, no Hunter from any Clan with a name would be stupid enough to pull this kind of crap. Usually, the more well-known clans had rules against that sort of thing. No, he needed to get really down into the muck. Regardless, he still needed to check out the Bazaar, but at least he had another lead. Alwyn began his walk back to the Bazaar. Due to the chaos that took place, the Black Wizard of Light had a feeling the Moogling was down. Besides, the last thing his adrenaline-fueled body needed was to be Warping anywhere.

| Fortunately, Cassialyn’s prompt reply abated a vast majority of the Dark Knight’s pressing concerns for their wellbeing, albeit, he was still concerned for their safety – especially with Sofa present. The Dancer’s seething glare direct at Ivonne hadn’t gone unnoticed, although, it did cause Dieter’s lips to tighten at the edges, effectively setting into a disapproving scowl. Despite being a Dark Knight himself, Ivonne’s disregard for her own well-being and those surrounding her was still mind-boggling. Although, he couldn’t entirely fault her, especially, if one considered that a vast majority of his fighting style was to boost his allies and then take the brunt of the punishment. It seemed asinine, however, one had to consider that his vitality in comparison to theirs was staggering – he’d also endured centuries of conflict and consistently emerged victorious.
“So long as they are within Low Town, they should be safe, the Avian aren’t likely to go underground.”
Dieter replied curtly, entirely dismissing Ivonne’s sarcasm jab aimed at Cassialyn. Somehow, this reminded him that both parties were undoubtedly fine, especially, if they had to energy to already be at one another’s throats. Over the frantic screams, shouts of terror and ongoing strife, Dieter’s sharpened senses still picked up on the Guard’s remark pertaining to the group’s beauty. His scowl deepened as for what felt like the millionth time, he’d been mistaken for a female, a fact that still irked him immensely – despite knowing that his features were quite androgynous. However, the Guard also clarified that of the group, only three of the four were female, probably remembering the seething glare he’d gotten the last time the man had made the drunken mistake of hitting on him. Alwyn’s irritated retort drew Dieter’s attention towards the skillful Black Mage, resisting the urge to chuckle as he’d reamed the Rabanastre Guard for his careless behavior. To his surprise, the Guard seemed unfazed by the chastising he’d just received, citing that they were a part of Helios’ Ambition.
“What do you think caused them to attack the city, Avian don’t normally leave their roost except to hunt and if their nests are disturbed.”
Dieter mentioned, turning to face Cassialyn and Ivonne.
“I vote we follow the Black Mage, perhaps he has a lead.”
He stated before he’d followed after the man.

C assialyn narrowed her eyes a bit when Ivy started to comment back. Oh, she had definitely done it on purpose. There was no denying it. There was no need for her to swing her sword the way she had. Dieter certainly would not have done it! It was infuriating to the older dancer as she held the orphan on her hip. They'd have to get the girl cleaned up at the clan before sending her back to the group. Cass actually ignored all her grumbles and made sure to turn her full attention to Dieter. She couldn't stand the newest addition to the team. She was an annoying little brat and seemed to like causing trouble. But that was a lower priority right now. She'd get payback for it later on. Cass watched the black mage speaking with the guards in the distance. Honestly, she was wondering what was going on over there. Who was that guy? Was he part of a rival clan? He didn't seem all that familiar and she'd been around a bit. Maybe he was new to the area. It was possible that he wasn't a frequent flyer in the area. It was just nice that they weren't the only clan out and helping. She was amused that the mage jumped when the other guard appeared. The mage did not sound pleased. Her attention returned to Dieter when he spoke up about them being safe in low town. If he was sure about that, then she'd trust his judgement. But, he seemed to be taking a bigger interest in what the guards were say, not exactly pleased with the conversation. Cass couldn't hear them quite as well as she squinted to try and lip read, but that wasn't too helpful either. Oh, what she'd give to know what was frustrating Dieter. But, he'd decided that it was best to go after the black mage. "Um... sure..." She half replied as Dieter took off after the man. Cass glanced at Sofia on her hip before getting the girl back on her feet. She took her hand and the two of them moved off after Dieter. She figured Ivy would either agree and join them or head back to the clan. If she did, she'd be more than happy to send Sofia off with Ivy. At least the girl would be safe at the clan base until they could get her back to Low Town.

Alwyn, not knowing he was being followed, walked back through Rabanastre. It was probably the quietest it had been since the night before. Because of this, Alwyn managed to get to the Bazaar a lot quicker than he realized. He made a quick stop by his residence to check on the landlord, who was shaken up but doing well. At first, the black mage thought that no one would be back in the Bazaar. But sure enough, he could see a green-scaled bangaa trying to repair his stall. Tevik had been one of Alwyn's first acquaintances in Rabanastre. The bangaa was helpful when Alwyn needed to track down a hunter that had decided it would be a good idea to not pay a seasoned and powerful master of destructive powers. Tevik had a great love of coin, which made it easy for Alwyn to procure specific books he needed from him. Tevik, of course, didn't acquire them illegally but through adventurers and explorers needing to sell their spoils from their fights. Alwyn walked towards the bangaa, who turned to the black mage and smiled.
"Ah, Alwyn my boy. I see the birds didn't tear you apart." The bangaa said, chuckling a bit darkly. "Don't tell me, those dark clouds were yer doin'." Alwyn smirked a bit as he walked to the stall. Tevik was good people, if a little bit too greedy for his own good. "It's a side effect, I swear. Completely unintentional." However, Alwyn's face then turned a bit more serious. "Listen, I need your help. I need to find whoever or whatever got those birds riled up. I'm thinking someone may have poached their eggs or maybe even a chick. You know anything about it?" Tevik sighed, putting some food out on display.
"Alwyn, you know I don't deal in poached goods." Alwyn rolled his eyes. This was the part where he'd have to hand over some coin. However, Tevik surprised the young mage. "For that sort of thing, I'd head to Lowtown. Yeh can trade just about anything down there without the guards noticing." Alwyn was admittedly confused until Tevik laughed again. "Come on, Glow Eyes. I nearly lost my life and my business. You can consider this on the house." Alwyn sighed and smiled. It was about time he caught a break. "Sorry. I wasn't thinking. Thanks for the help."
What Tevik didn't say was that he knew that Alwyn was having a hard time having enough money to rub two gil together.
