Mickey sighed happily from where he was standing on a ladder hanging colorful strings of flags from the lamp posts in Disney Town's square. He'd paused to watch Queen Minnie talking to the boys about what she needed done to the amphitheatre stage and when she turned to wave at him he blushed and waved back. He wasn't supposed to be so easily distracted but she just looked so beautiful in that gown and at peace among their people that he couldn't help it but admire her.
The King had come home a little while ago from a very important mission. He PROMISED her he'd be home to help prepare for a spring festival, so there he was hanging up some decorations in bright yellows and festive red and purples. Today he was no king. Just a happy town mouse among happy town folk and there was quite a buzz about this festival all over! It didn't surprise him. Every event Queen Minnie put her heart into usually became cherished tradition there in town.
"Lunch is ready at the diner, your majesty!" a familiar voice called up to him and he finished up hanging the flags on that side of the gazebo calling over his shoulder. "Thank you! I'll be right over!" The mouse king was practically glowing in his happiness. His community bustling together as one just brought such joy to his heart, why, he felt like he could fly! With another content sigh, Mickey eased himself carefully down the tall wobbly ladder and turned around.
