Tournament Reviews This template is to be used for all Tournament reviews. It is the same form that staff uses. Please copy and paste the code from the bottom into the appropriate match review thread that has been created by the staff. Please do not create your own thread. You cannot review a thread that your character participated in. For every knowledgeable and well written review, you will gain 20 munny to the character account you post the review with. You may only post one review per thread. Please be sure that your review is detailed and informed. Site Rules still apply to raid reviews, so be polite and respectful. Everything a member posts is to be read as constructive criticism and is not to be taken as an attack. Any issues should be reported directly to a staff member. Damage Inflicted and Taken: What powers were used and what damage taken should be reviewed here, as well as the effects of any powers used. Basically, which side dealt more and which side took more damage.
Key Points:- Overall damage inflicted
- Strategic use of items
- Overall combative dominance
Questions to Ask Yourself:How much damage would that skill have inflicted on the target? Would a skill be super effective against the character, such as using a potion against someone inflicted with zombie. Who caused the most damage? Which side would have probably won the fight. Skill and Style: This isn't for it being well written, but the creative style and effect of their strategy and if it also had a imaginative visual.
Key Points:- In-Character Combat Style
- Skills used wisely
- Use of weaknesses and strength
Questions to Ask Yourself: Did the member stick to their character's fighting style? Did they set them up in a way that would have been hard to defend against? Did that character use their unique/individual fighting style, or 'X-factor' to their best advantage? Did they use their known written powers in such a way that they normally wouldn't use them? Did someone feel out-of-character? Who controlled the battle? Who was more dominant with how the flow of battle went against the other? Did a character seem to be reacting to attacks more than being the one to inflict them? Did one player keep the other on their toes more than the other? Did one character seemed more defensive, calm and collected than the other? Did one person execute an ingenious strategy to win? Did one character identify the other's weaknesses or use their opponent's strength against them? Did a character start at a loss, only to turn it around and gain the flow and control of the battle in their favor? Did a character seem to just use attacks and throw them at the opponent, or used them in a way that was hard for the opponent to fight/defend/counter against? Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: How well did the member write and describe their actions and surroundings. This also includes if a character did not explain themselves or were not justified in their movements or dodging.
Key Points:- Stayed In-Character
- Easy to Understand
- Overall fairness
Questions to ask yourself: Did they justify certain movements and their character's fight style? Whether their post was short or long, where they able to explain their actions to the reader and get their point across? Did you question any actions or abilities a character did make? How well did you understand their writing? Did they dodge an attack that should have otherwise harmed them? Did they ignore or shrugged off attacks or write that the attacks had no effect on them? Did they seem to know something about their opponent that otherwise their character wouldn't know? Did a character do something you felt was not fair or use a power not listed/misuse a power listed on their application? Who had the best sportsmanship, and was fair to the other team in taking damage? Did someone take a hit that they probably could have dodged? Did a team take hits that they knew they couldn't dodge realistically? Damage Inflicted and Taken: Alright so Sophia and Kuja were in my opinion equally fair in the Damage that they’d managed to inflict as well as receive. I will admit that that by the end of the battle, it was quite hard to discern whom would ultimately be able to continue due to the fact that based off their psots that both of them were gravely injured – battered and scarily able to continue. However, I will ultimately half to go with Sophia due to the fact that she managed to get Kuja to heal himself so she managed to widdle him down, not just once but twice.
[******Sophia******] Skill and Style: Alright, so both Kuja’s and Sophia’s writing style are unique and easily distinguishable from one another. Kuja maintained his egotistical superior complex well as did Sophia, which made it increasingly fun to read because these are two people that simply won’t accept defeat – even if Death itself was staring them in the eyes. However, I would ultimately have to bode with Kuja on Skill and Style simply because his creative use of his abilities and how he’d made use of his Trance Mode as well ( he quite literally used everything at his disposal ) [******Kuja******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: So, this one was perhaps the hardest for me to judge because it was also the determining factor in who would advance to the next round. First and foremost, Kuja’s creative writing and dedication to his character’s tendancies was admirable. I’d also like to add that he’d embraced Kuja’s petty nature, especially when he got injured, he was dead set of returning even ounce of damage that was dealt to him. Alas, Sophia on the otherhand, her descriptive writing and unique battle-style as a Battle Mage was highly interesting read. Especially given she is one of the few hybrid-type characters we have on the site. I will also say that both were overtly fair to one another and it is with great pleasure that I congratulate each of you, especially Sophia. [******Sophia******] Raid Winner: ***** Sophia ******

Damage Inflicted and Taken: Hoo Boy, both combatants took one hell of a beating and gave as much as they took. However, I have to say that the victor for this category is Kuja. The guy pulled out two Ultima spells, which is just plan devastating no matter how you slice it. While Sophia did have some healing, I don't believe it would've been enough to mitigate the onslaught of damage Kuja was throwing at her. [******Kuja******] Skill and Style: This was a mage on mage duel and so, at first glance, there isn't too much in the way of differing fighting styles. However, there is a clear difference in how Kuja and Sophia utilized their abilities. It was clear that, from the get-go, Kuja was the aggressor and Sophia was the one defending. That being said Kuja played better as the aggressor. As soon as Sophia went on the offensive, it seemed as if Kuja sometimes had trouble trying to defend himself. Sophia, on the other hand, was equally adept at both the offensive and defensive game, utilizing her abilities to the fullest. I felt that Kuja could've used Trance to cast stronger spells rather than as a quick Ultima burn. Either way, Sophia one out for her adaptive strategy. [******Sophia******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: This... this is a tough one. I can't really grade on Sportsmanship, since both combatants took and gave an astounding amount of damage, while also realistically dodging other attacks. Overall, both Sophia and Kuja score high on the Sportsmanship part. As for the Descriptive Writing, both were almost equally good. Kuja's descent into near-madness at the sheer obstinate obstruction that was Sophia was truly a sight to behold and the description of his Trance wasn't bad, either. Sophia's own transformation was very solid, especially noting the steam rising off of her body. That's not even mentioning her sheer stubbornness in the face of overwhelming odds. Thus, it's rather hard to decide who should win in this section. However, I have decided to give the win to Kuja. As far as descriptive writing, I believe he had the edge as far as describing his attacks and how Kuja reacted to everything. There was a point in Sophia's post where I was confused as to how she healed, before assuming that it was part of her Daephilim release. Again, this was a tough one and both Kuja and Sophia should be commended for a stellar fight. [******Kuja******] Raid Winner: ***** Kuja ******

Damage Inflicted and Taken: As previously noted by others, this was battle was pretty much arcane Armageddon. Both gave everything they got and pulled out all the stops. The battle was so swingy in who was melting whose flesh to ribbons that “Combat Dominance” was roughly equal. Both did an excellent job of showing in very vivid terms how damaged their characters were and allowed them to show it in how they responded to their opponent's next action. With so much brutal beat down its hard to really say who damaged who more. My vote gots to Sophia, both because of her various tactics used to nullify damage and being very consistent in keeping up retaliation even when put on the defensive. [******Sophia******] Skill and Style: Both writers brought a glorious amount of haughty panache to this fight. Kuja played our crazed Nero figure and Sophia was determined not to shame her bloodline. It was fun reading both character’s inner monologues. Both writers did an excellent job of showing their characters (who are each magical Alpha Predators on their respective worlds) being shocked/unnerved that there could possibly be another being who could be their match. The combination of arrogance and growing wary respect made the battle flow well, a compliment to both writers. Sophia’s skill was undeniable. She tread an interesting line between tactics and ferocity and employed her spells in patterns to inhibit evasion. However my vote goes to Kuja both in the out the box way he used some of his abilities and how the mad-Sun King vibe of his character was felt not just what he said, but in how he fought.. [******Kuja******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: Both writers were very realistic and responsible. Without need to establish a system between themselves they both allowed their characters to sustain huge amounts of damage. Even more of a credit to them was that their writing was detailed enough that we as the audience could see and feel it with the characters, rather it being just an abstract statement noted in the narrative. Kuja’s insane foppish dialogue was lots of fun to read, and Sophia might not have been as extroverted, but she had a inner monologue that detailed well her reservations and doubts. Kuta’s nuclear strikes of magical destruction had good imagery, and Sophia’s description of her transformation was a stand out for me. Overall though both were beyond competent in this category, I’m gonna give this one to Kuja for both excellent characterization and a great touch of sportsmanship and realism near the end where he reduced Kuja’s damage to reflect his weakened state.. [******Kuja******] Raid Winner: ***** Winner Kuja ******
