“Maybe we’re dead and in limbo.” Elena said rather bluntly as she accepted his jacket, she was cold and after there time with the remnants she hated it more. She shivered a little as she shifted a little closer to him. “... but you’re right, the chopper or what wasn’t left of it should have been close by. You don’t have any cuts or bruises and neither do I.. so it’s not like we were hurt falling from it..” Elena said watching the fire as she held her hands together under his jacket, just trying to keep herself warm.
Elena didn’t pull her eyes off the fire until she shivered from the cold, it was the first time she had really looked at Tseng in a while, actually looked at him and studied his face, there was something about him that she couldn’t put her finger on. That was until what was behind Tseng made her look up, she shifted onto her knees and pulled his jacket around her own to double up and keep warm as she took a stick from the fire place that held a flame and moved over to the wall. What she had seen was something out of the blue, she shifted closer and looked at it properly, the flame as close as possible. “What is this?” She asked, it was almost like symbol after symbol almost like writing. She would say it looked a little like Wutainese but she had never seen these symbols before, it was almost like some sort of plans had been written out, with lines making it into a diagram. “Can you read this?” Of course she assumed Tseng could, he was Wutainese, it looked like Wutainese writing.

Tseng was rather cold. It was a bit of a relief feeling a bit warmer when she shifted closer to him. "I was thinking the same thing, to be honest." He frowned a bit. He really hoped he was not dead. If he was, he hoped that things would be better than this. That it would be warm with familiar faces at the other end. Not a cold barren wasteland. Not practically reliving one of the worst moments of his life. She explained the obvious and he nodded. They were both fine and seemingly unharmed. They just needed to stay warm and make it through the night.
He was watching the flames as he felt a little warmer staying close. That is, until Elena picked up a branch and moved to a wall. The Director sighed a bit. He wanted to warm up and get some rest. It wasn't like they had anything to do till the morning.
The Director finally convinced himself to shift to his feet and move over to what she was babbling on about. He wrapped his arms around himself. She left the jacket she'd dropped on the ground. He picked it up and moved to put it on her shoulders as he got closer, looking at what she was. "I don't understand what the fascination is...." He commented as he listened to her ramblings. It was feeling oddly like the Temple of the Ancients all over again. "...It's a weird handwriting...but...I might be able to." He responded as he shifted closer to get a better look. It was a bit odd to be honest.

“I’m more concerned why it’s here... why would there be writing in here..” Elena asked her partner. As she used his jacket to wrap around herself a little more. “Makes you wonder where we really are...” If they were in Wutai then the language would be on the wall. But they hadn’t been facing that why when they were in the helicopter, they wasn’t going to Wutai, and why was there snow in Wutai? It didn’t make a whole lot of senses.
That’s what Elena wanted to know, if Tseng could read it. When he said he might be able too, she stepped back, handing him the branch with the small flame on it. So he could view the writing easier and put the light where he needed it. It was so strange to see the writing here on the wall, she couldn’t believe it was here, the whole helicopter trip was completely baffled her mind. She wanted to know what had happened; but at the same time she was confused by it all.

"I don't know, Elena..." He frowned at her excitement about finding this chicken scratch on a wall. But, she probably needed something to distract her from the cold. He could not deprive her of that. He could translate it for her. He accepted the branch and leaned in with a faint sigh.
To be honest, it was an odd form of writing. It was almost like a dialect that he wasn't too familiar with. But, the general shape gave him an idea of what it said. "It's actually a bit odd. The characters are shaped and draw a bit different, and it's not just their handwriting." He explained as he moved the branch to read all of the wall. "It says something along the lines of 'here we conjured the great wall of' .... i'm not sure of this word.... but, it's a variation of area or nation... then it continues to say that soon they would take control of the entire area, not just the wall." He explained. It was a bit difficult to read.
"It's almost a variation of wutainese... but not a dialect I recognize. Nor the area that they are attacking... wherever we are... this is the word for it." He explained as he gestured with his free hand to the character on the wall. "It I real the character directly... it's read /China/" He explained, speaking the secondary language. "But, I am not able to translate it properly to Continental." He added as he glanced over at the blonde turk.

Elena needed something to distract her, not just from the cold, from feeling hungry too. It wasn’t till they’d finally sat down did Elena remember that they hadn’t eaten. She felt silly for forgetting, but the more she ignored it with Tseng’s talks the better.
“Great Wall?” The women asked with a reply. “The only great walls I know where the ones that used to divid up the sectors of midgar..” the women said slightly confused at the writing, but she trusted Tseng; he had no reason to lie. “China?” The women said the slight confusing stepping up a level. “What is China? Isn’t that what people call there cutlery some times?” The women asked as she shivered and wrapped his jacket a little around her more. “Either way we should settle back down in front of the fire to get warm again..” she suggested as she walked moved to sit by the tiny fire. “Wonder what Great Wall that have in ‘China.’” The women said, she had never heard of China, maybe it was another word for heaven.

Tseng shook his head as he stood, rereading it a few times. The scratches in the wall were not very well written. It was honestly surprising they found something like this. This cave had housed many people in the past too. Returning to sit beside Elena again, he placed the twig back with the others to keep warmer. ”If you take the way it sounds in Wutainese literally, yes. It does sound like that I suppose.”
Elena had his jacket wrapped around her. At least she would be warm for the night. It would get a lot colder. He simply prayed that the fire would keep it at bay. With outstretched arms, he warmed himself again before glancing back at the wall. He really had nothing else to add to it. ”In the morning, we focus on figuring out where we are. See if we can get to a town.”
The director laid his back against the cave wall and folded his arms to try and conserve heat. He closed his eyes briefly before reopening them. ”I’ll take first shift. Get some rest. I’ll keep the fire going....” He’d keep it going and let her rest. Then he’d rest during her shift. It was less sleep, but they wouldn’t freeze to death.

Elena watched Tseng put the small stick back inside what flames they had left. She doubted the fire would keep over night, it was wishful thinking but she doubted it. Waiting patiently to see what Tseng plan was next, what he did come up with was no surprise, of course there plan was to figure out where they were, she didn’t know what she expected him to say really.
Elena watched the fire after agreeing with his plan with a nod. She shivered a little before she got an idea. “I know what we can burn.” The women said as she shifted to remove one of her ankle boots she wore and then her sock. “I remember reading an article about women who burn photos by putting them in socks first..” the women said as she put her small boot back on and then carefully laid the sock beside the fire, normally you should lay it straight on top, but Elena didn’t want to put out the only heat they had if he plan messed up. She straighten her trouser leg as the sock started to let off smoke as the wool began to burn. Elena was impressed with herself a little as she removed Tseng’s jacket and handed to him before pretty much sitting beside him, any closer she would be in his lap.
The sock was starting to burn nicely, letting out a little more heat as the blonde wrapped her own jacket tightly around herself to try and keep as warm as possible, she couldn’t let Tseng get to cold, it’s why she had handed his jacket back. “You ever going to live up to taking me out for dinner like you asked in the past?” She teased, she knew he would properly roll his eyes at her, but she was to tired to sleep and she didn’t want to discuss work. Elena knew it would properly never happen, but it was nice to dream. To be honest the blonde thought she was bette off single, now one to break your heart.

Tseng was sure with the small pile he'd collected that it would be fine. He only started with a small amount to start so that they would have enough for the evening. It was going to be a long night, that much was for sure. But they would make it through. They lasted longer in the Northern Cavern with less and under torture. One night would not kill them. The hardest part would be finding out which section of the mountain they were on and how they were going to contact ShinRa to get them home safely.
That's when Elena decided to be more than stupid. It made Tseng sigh when he couldn't comment soon enough. "Elena..." He didn't like what she was doing in the slightest. She really could be a rookie sometimes. This was the perfect example. "....All you just did was guarantee that you're going to end up sick." All the sock would do was burn warm for about a minute then it would get cold and her foot would be vulnerable to the cold. They still had to walk through the snow in the morning and the sock was keeping her foot warm and the snow out of her boots. The Director could only shake his head at her. What was she thinking?
Tseng shook his head at her giving him the jacket back. He was warmer than her normally. She didn't give off very much body heat. But, he was not even going to say anything. He wrapped his jacket around himself and stayed settled. That's when she brought it up and he sighed. This was not a discussion he wanted to be having. She had to ask when he was trapped in a room with her. It's not like he could send her away or walk away from it. She had asked a few times and he always avoid the topic. It was fragile.
"I don't have an answer for you, Elena. Maybe when we get back.... if we get back." He responded. Everything had been a mess since he'd asked her. They hadn't had a moment to even discuss it to be honest. It was one conflict or issue after the other. Every time she mentioned, their lives got worse. It was almost like karma for trying to have a normal life outside of the Turks. "Have you noticed that every time it is brought up, things seem to get worse for us?" He asked her, making sure to make eye contact with her. "A coma... torture...." He half answered. "If you don't want to rest, then you can take the first shift. Wake me up in about four hours..." He expressed, shutting his eyes. He did not want to discuss this anymore.

Andoria had came to the land of dragons mostly where the northern crater was from her own ship that was gummified. She had left Concordia and came where this world was. She had wanted to broaden her own horizons, and gotten permission from Soryu for a time off. Andoria had landed her ship inside the crater and was thinking how two approach whoever was here. Andoria wasn't clearly human anymore, but yet she had been commune with Soryu dragon for sometime now. She had been sitting in her ship and was trying to open up the door for quite a bit. This world was new to her and she hadn't thought of how she was going to explain of how she got here, or yet who she was. For her this world was going to take some time to explain to the people here that she comes in peace and don't be afraid of her either.
During that time she had finally gotten her door open to make sure that she had been sitting there on the seat not wishing to have fallen down from the dress that was super long. Andoria had been trying to figure out, which way to talk while she was here. For her this was an opportunity to find out about the people that were living here and she was a civilian and a queen of concordia. She wasn't needed to be a mediator not just yet. I wonder what this place is and who would come here. Andoria thought. For a quite a moment she had been sitting there and she kept her dress to the side while she was sitting.
Andoria had been thinking that she should at least start the conversation since that would be polite. She had been sitting there and hoping someone was here so that she wasn't by herself at this moment. For in any case she had been new to this world and wondered where she was at. She hadn't looked at the compass when she had first arrived here. "Hello anyone out there?" Andoria called.

“I won’t get sick..” Elena didn’t think she had done anything silly, she knew socks burnt well so she wouldn’t of wasted the material, it would work. The women looked at his face and sighed and looked at the flame now; every time she thought she was helping he shot her down. Maybe she shouldn’t have joined Turk, maybe she should of just done what her father said and give up on her dream. At least Tseng wouldn’t of been stuck with her right now.
That’s when he made eye contract with her, really with her, his voice said it all, it was straight to the point he didn’t want to talk about it. He spoke about karma and what had happened since being brought up. Like it was her fault, or that’s how it seemed. “I..” But he told her he was going to sleep and that she would take first shift. She watched him shut his eyes and she shock her head moving away from him to sit closer to the fire, it was that one bit of hope she had that one day he’d ask her again, tell her he loved maybe they could dance the night away like they had done in missions before as husband and wife. But it was simply never to be.
Hugging her knees the young women sighed to herself, prodding the fire with the stick to help the sock burn more; a short time passed, she couldn’t say how long, but it did pass and before she knew it she could hear a voice. Soft? In the distance maybe. But she had to be dreaming, maybe it was the wind. She shifted and moved closer to the opening that she had padded up with snow to take a listen. She didn’t want to wake Tseng if she was hearing things.

Tseng shut his eyes to rest for the short while. He really was not sleeping, but it was enough to rest up a little bit. He needed his energy to be able to go out and brace that cold for however long it needed to be to find a town. It would be much safer with the rest. He just needed to conversation to end. He did not have the energy to really discuss dating right now. Not after the helicopter crash and them being trapped. Why did she always chose the worst moment to try and discuss this topic? It would have been easier when they were out with the group or in his office when things weren't as dangerous and tensions less high.
That's when he heard Elena shifted up. He had been resting for a bit and opened his eyes to watch Elena. He hadn't heard the voice calling. That would have made sense. He watched the woman for a moment before speaking up.
"What is it, Elena?" He asked quietly as he sat up to feed the fire a bit. He had no idea there was someone outside calling for them.

Elena didn’t mean to choose the worse time for that conversation; she just wouldn’t talk about it around others and if she did she would go bright red to match Reno’s hair. And talking about it in his office or around Shinra itself was a massive no. So here when it was private and just the two of them seemed right. But of course it was the wrong time. Elena would need to start expecting it to always be the wrong time, regardless of what people think. She sighed inwards a little as she knelt to where she had built the door, listening for the voice again. When Tseng spoke she almost jolted out of her skin, she hadn’t expected him to speak up, not for a few hours yet.
“I thought I heard a voice..” Elena said as she sat close to the door, maybe she was hearing things. She wouldn’t like to admit that; but she was sure she had, maybe a women’s voice? It was softer then most Male voices, but she couldn’t be completely sure. The wind howled against the makeshift door, maybe it was the wind. Maybe she had heard the wind and she was just hearing things. She glanced at Tseng and decided to play it safe. “I’m properly hearing things... it’s been a long day..”

The Director watched Elena closely as she spoke and moved about. That is, before she sat across from the fire near the entrance. It had to be a lot colder over there. But, Tseng stayed silent about it. He wasn't her babysitter and she was an adult. She was able to take care of herself. As she explained about the voice, he knew it was probably about time for her to rest. She was probably exhausted. He almost felt a bit guilty for making her stay up first, but he needed to get her to stop talking about the dinner. He already felt split about it. He really did want to take her to dinner. It just never seemed to work out.
Tseng shook his head and sat up a little bit to watch her. "Come. Sit. Get some sleep. I'll take over the shift." He did not want her being so tired that she was hearing things. "I'm sure it was the wind." He sat up again a bit uncomfortably so he could stay awake. They did not want to get caught off guard from anyone breaking it. It was just in their nature.

Elena wasn’t hearing things, she knew that for a fact as she listened again, she heard Tseng’s voice to sit and she would of but she was so damn sure what she had heard. She shifted to lean against the fake door like snow she had built, she needed to listen. She wasn’t going crazy, she knew that. He had her doubting herself. As she leant back against the snow she almost caved threw it. She was such an idiot at times but lucky enough she didn’t do much damage, it didn’t break the snow and let in any sort of breeze which was a bonus. She leant off the door after that, leaning against the cave wall just next too it.
“I know what I heard.” The woman said as she sat listening again for what she had heard the first time. She was sure it was a voice, she doubted the sex of the voice, but she could of heard someone calling her. Taking a deep breathe she shut her eyes to listen. She didn’t want to give away that she might be hearing things; was she? She had yet to hear the voice again. A few minutes passed and Elena sighed on the inside, letting the noise escape her lips slightly. “Maybe I am hearing things...” The blonde couldn’t play off hearing a voice, not when there was miles and miles of snow on the ground outside. Maybe the cold was effecting her. “Maybe this will be it? Maybe I’ll catch hypothermia and freeze to death and you can go back to working solo and not have to worry about me.” The women teased, she had said the same thing whilst in the forgotten city. “You always preferred to work alone anymore.” She teased a little more and moved to sit a little closer to the fire, her sock still slightly on fire, burning well. Who was she kidding, he wouldn’t miss her if she died, he’d properly appreciate the silence once in a while.

Andoria had thought calling again to anyone that was here since she wasn't possibly heard the first time. She had no idea that she was being heard by people that was here. For a while she was sitting in the gummified of her ship. She was being in her ship since her dress was so long. She was free to travel since she wasn't needed as a mediator just yet. For any cause she was here was to broaden her horizons and she also know that she was an l'cie. Her being L'Cie didn't change her personality or who she was.
She had been thinking of what she could say now then she thought what she could say. Andoria had breathed and try this one more time since this was going to be a little rough. She was just being polite.
"My name is Andoria Kaya Tranka Fam Forturio and I came from Concordia if you can hear me please answer me back. I do beg for your pardon for my intrusion. That wasn't my intention." Andoria said. She was thinking that starting the conversation could be one way she could be understood. There was something calming about this place.
