Tifa Lockhart - A kind of adoptive mother to Marlene. Marlene hopes to be like her someday! She wants to kick butt and be fearless just like Tifa!
Cloud Strife - Marlene sees Cloud as kind of an adoptive father, possibly, and part of the duo that ties their little family together! She doesn't want him ever to give up on himself or anyone else! 
Denzel - Denzel is Marlene's brother, no matter what. She will take care of him and watch over him!
Rude and Reno - Marlene learned they were responsible for Cloud coming to rescue her and Denzel.
Vincent Valentine - Marlene can hide in his cape, and he's a very trusted friend, in Marlene's eyes.
Aerith Gainsborough - Marlene remembers her, both that she was instrumental in the Planet's saving but also because Aerith protected her. She wears a pink ribbon in her hair in remembrance of a wonderful Flower Lady.
Loz - Marlene's pretty sure he still remembers getting hit in the head with the Materia orb. She was kidnapped by him after she witnessed him almost kill Tifa.
Kadaj - Marlene really doesn't like him; he somehow got Denzel (and other kids) to do what he wanted, and he tried to kill Cloud. Marlene doesn't like anyone who messes with her family.
Sephiroth - Marlene doesn't really know him personally, but she knows he's a very angry someone who did a great terrible thing, (like trying to destroy the whole planet).

*Curious: Marlene is a young child full of the incessant, insatiable curiosity of most children, and has a very inquisitive mindset when it comes to new things and places, and situations. She sees everything as a chance to explore and meet new people, or learn new things. When faced with difficulties or situations she might not understand, Marlene will usually be the first to ask questions, though she still may not understand when it's explained.

*Intelligent/Mature: Though she is only 7, Marlene thinks rather maturely for her age. She has a wisdom that is beyond her young years, and it gives her insight and some understanding to things that happen around her, and what people go through, even if she doesn't quite understand why they happen or why it has to be certain people. She often observes others with her curious state of mind, gathering ideas and information. She is known to give advice, usually things she picks up from what others say or do. She has also proven her maturity by being responsible; Marlene often watches the bar for Tifa when she and Cloud are away, and tries to take care of Denzel when he isn't feeling well.

Even though she is a child, Marlene can surprise people with a quick mind and rather bold actions, usually when someone in her family or friends ends up in trouble and there is no-one to help; as shown when Marlene used Materia to distract Loz by hitting him in the head with the orb, as he was about to finish off a defeated Tifa. She's also revealed that tense situations don't always get to her, at least, not at first. When someone needs confidence (i.e. Cloud), Marlene tries to use advice she's heard and things she's seen to help them feel better, often quoting Barrett.

*Innocent: Marlene is a child, and carries the innocence of one. She is unmarked by violence or strife, though she is usually kept far from any confrontations or dangers by her family. She sees the beauty in the world around her, viewing everything with wonder and amazement, and she loves picking flowers and things that a kid her age would do. She doesn't identify strangers as immediately dangerous, and her uninhibited openness to the world can make her an easy target for those who seek to do harm.

*Caring/Loving: Marlene loves almost everyone; she has a big heart and cares very much about those around her. She loves her family: Barrett Wallace (her father), Cloud Strife, Tifa, and Denzel. She considers them all family, and will never be told otherwise. She is always happy when everyone comes home, because then they can all be together. She would never willingly leave her family, nor would she do anything that might cause them to worry (at least, not knowingly). Marlene tries to take care of Denzel when he isn't feeling well, and looks up to Tifa, constantly with her, almost acting as a sort of smaller personification of Tifa. She is grateful to Cloud for trying to help Denzel and trying to take care of the little family. She often calls out for Cloud, when in scary situations.. she knows he would do anything he can to save them. She knows no matter what, even if separated for some time, they will all end up together again. They're family: need there be any other explanation?

* Marlene is also polite, and usually soft-spoken. She doesn't throw tantrums or make a lot of noise like some kids. Though she may wander off when distracted by things or wanting to look at something, she tries to be a good kid and not misbehave. She is very sweet and friendly. She also wants to be more than ‘just a kid’.

Hi There! I'm Marlene Wallace. This is my story, and the story of the family and friends I know. They didn't tell me where to start, so I guess the beginning is best!

(Marlene was born to Dyne and Eleanor, friends of Barrett Wallace. Marlene has no memory of them or her home, as she was less than a year old when the incidents that obliterated the town occurred. Barrett adopted Marlene as his own daughter.)

I was born in Corel, on the world known as the Planet. Daddy Barrett says I was too young to remember, but my home, the town, and friends of Daddy Barrett were all wiped out when some really bad people did a really bad thing.. Daddy says he will explain everything when I am older. I wonder how old I will have to be.

Because Daddy was constantly going away on trips and taking care of things, I stayed with Cloud and Tifa. They're my family. I heard Tifa once say that we weren't just any family, so I guess we're a special kind of family. I got to meet friends they had, and Tifa even let me watch the bar! It's called 7th Heaven, and I keep an eye on the place whenever Cloud and Tifa have to go somewhere. I met a really nice lady, too. Her name was Aerith Gainsborough; I called her 'Flower Lady'. She always wore really pretty ribbons in her hair, tied in a bow. She stayed with me when Cloud and Tifa and Daddy Barrett went to do a mission, and took me to a safe place when Sector 7 was destroyed. Shinra people came for Aerith, and she left me with her mother, Ms. Elmyra so I would be safe. Daddy Barrett came to find me, and he told me that they were going to go after Shinra, and get Aerith back. He promised he would come back for me when everything was over. I knew he would always come back for me.

Aerith was a really nice brave Flower Lady..and when I found out later that she had died, I was sad. She became a part of the Lifestream, the spiritual energy that surrounds and runs through the Planet, giving life to everyone and everything in it. A bad man named Sephiroth killed Aerith; he was angry at the world, and wanted to make everything go away. They say he was the reason for the Meteor in the sky..and when it finally hit the Planet, the Lifestream came out to make it all stop; the fighting, the chaos, everything. Everything stopped. A lot of people died, and many places were destroyed, just like my home was a long time ago.

A couple years passed, and I stayed with Cloud and Tifa, as Daddy Barrett went off to help people and take care of things. People had been working on trying to rebuild and get their lives back together. They said that Shinra was to blame for the Mako energy that had been released on the Planet, when their reactors had been damaged to the point they failed. People also blamed Shinra for the Geostigma, a horrible deadly infection that a lot of people had, including Denzel. Denzel came home with Cloud one day, and he became part of our family. I helped take care of him, and I knew Cloud was trying to find a way to cure the Geostigma; he had a lot of books on his desk. I hoped every day that Denzel wouldn't be taken away by the sickness. I didn't want to lose anyone.

Cloud was gone a lot, and though I knew he would come home eventually, he was away for long spaces of time. Tifa and Denzel and I took care of 7th Heaven, and tried to keep things together. When Tifa and I went out to the old church, there were some really pretty flowers there. I knew they were from Flower Lady Aerith, and they smelled so nice! We also found some of Cloud's stuff. I guess he had been living at the church, staying away from home. We also found out that Cloud was sick, too. Was this why he was fighting so hard to help Denzel? Tifa said we should go home, but I told her we had to wait for Cloud. Tifa agreed, saying that Cloud would get a lecture, too. So we waited at the church; I played in the flowers, while Tifa was nearby, until we heard someone enter the church. Cloud must have returned! So I jumped up and ran to hug him, but Tifa caught me before I got any closer.. It wasn't Cloud. He was a scary man who asked if I wanted to play. When neither of us replied, he asked where 'Mother' was. His hair was silver, like the bad man Sephiroth..and he didn't seem to like the flowers much. Tifa sent me to hide out of the way, and she and the man fought. Finally, the man ended up under a bunch of seats, and Tifa had won!

But just when we thought it was over, the man's phone rang. He answered it, and talked with the person on the phone. Turns out, he was supposed to take me with him.. I didn't want to go, and Tifa wouldn't let him. Instead, she fought him again, and he almost killed her. I found a chest by Cloud's stuff, and when I opened it, there were a bunch of orbs in there! I threw one at the man, to make him leave Tifa alone. It worked..but then he came over to me and took me away.

We ended up in the Forgotten Capital, a bunch of ruins where two others who looked like the man who had kidnapped me waited. One was Kadaj, a big meanie, and Yazoo. The one who captured me was named Loz. They had kidnapped a bunch of other kids, too..Including Denzel. Kadaj made them drink water that he changed, and it changed them. They weren't themselves anymore.. More like robots or something. They acted on Kadaj's orders, and when Cloud showed up, Kadaj and the other two meanies attacked him, fighting with stolen Materia. Cloud escaped, with the help of Mr. Vincent Valentine.

I managed to get away from the meanies, and found Cloud and Mr. Vincent. I ran straight to Cloud, and tried to tell him about Denzel and Tifa..he told me that Tifa was all right, but I wanted to talk to her. When he reached for his phone, he realized he didn't have it. So I looked to Mr. Vincent and asked if I could..but he didn't have one either. I was surprised, and worried about how to reach Tifa. I wanted to be sure she was okay. Cloud asked Mr. Vincent if he would take me back home to Tifa..which meant Cloud was going to leave again. After telling Cloud to forget it, and asking why he never pays any attention to us, I fled to hide in Mr. Vincent's cloak. I felt like Cloud was just going to keep leaving, even though we wanted him in our family.

Cloud tried to explain that things weren't simple, and that he needed time.. But I didn't really understand what he was talking about. Mr. Vincent talked to Cloud, and they came to a decision. Cloud told me it was time to go home, and that we were going together. I ran to hug him, and we headed back home. When we got there, Cloud lifted me off of Fenrir, and we had a talk. I asked if he left because he couldn't find a cure for Denzel, or if it was because he was sick, too. He told me that he didn't feel like he could be there for our family, and hope to help us, if he couldn't even help himself. I told him that it was clear he was trying hard to help Denzel..he should clean up his desk more often. I also used advice Daddy Barrett often said, telling Cloud he shouldn't give up. I felt like we had a moment, there, and he seemed to feel better, if only a little. He told me to wait at 7Th Heaven until everyone came home.

I waited, like I was told to...but no-one ever came. I fell asleep waiting, seated at the counter. After a while, I went outside, and started looking for people. I didn't recognize where I was, nor were there any people around that I could ask for help. Where was Cloud? Tifa? Denzel? Where they okay? Had Cloud rescued Denzel? Were Kadaj and the other meanies stopped? I had no answers.. So now I look for familiar faces, and hopefully find my family. Or they'll find me. I still haven't found any of my family, or those who know them. I really hope they're okay, and that I can find Daddy or somebody soon!

Distinguishing Features: Always wears pink ribbons tied in a bow in her hair, inspired by Aerith! Her outfit is usually a white turtleneck sweater-dress and white sneakers.

"C-Cloud!!" ; "We can't! Cloud's not back yet!" ; "We're a family, aren't we?"

So many flowers..!
How was she supposed to choose which ones she wanted to pick for the vases back at 7th Heaven? Marlene tugged the end of her braid, her round hazel eyes surveying the large patch of blooming flowers that spread through the meadow in a dazzling array of colors and variety. Which ones would Tifa like best? That was probably the best way to decide what to bring home. Wandering slowly through the blossoms, her fingers gathering a rather large bouquet one flower at a time. Marlene hummed softly, a tune she had heard Tifa humming a couple days ago while cleaning. It was a wordless tune, simple and bright. It made her smile as she continued picking flowers, trying to figure out what a few of them were. Some of the flowers she knew, but others were new. She would ask Tifa..Tifa would know!

When she could hold no more flowers in her hands, Marlene looked up at the sun, its light softened by a light cover of clouds, and was startled to see that its seat in the sky had shifted.

How long have I been out here?
She wasn't sure how much time had passed.. Tifa would get worried if she was away for too long! Holding her newly acquired flowers close, Marlene hurried back to the path, and toward home. Hopefully Tifa could help get the flowers into a vase.. Marlene wasn't sure she could, with her hands full. Maybe when Cloud and Denzel got home, they could all go do something together! That would be wonderful. With these thoughts in mind, Marlene hurried to get back to 7th Heaven, and called out as she entered inside.

"Tifa! I'm home! Guess what I found!"
