| | So it seems our heroes are at it again! Arriving at the Focus Tower they search for what has caused the once felled Ice Golem to raise again. Thanks to his return the Water Region is slowly freezing over, leaving both residents and wildlife at risk. Your mission is as you have accepted it. You seek to find out what is the cause of its return, and hope that it is not connected to the Vile Four. But with the state the worlds are finding themselves it is hard to hope this will end peacefully. Good Luck Heroes. You'll be starting as soon as possible @ursula and Dieter Wolfram will find a means to an end one way or another. If the thread goes inactive for a month or more, there is a chance it may fail. That is all! | |

| I JUST WANNA DANCE WITHOUT YOU!
While shivering, Ursula continued up the frozen stream that went down the hill. The ground was slippery, but the villagers had told them that the Ice Pyramid was up this way and in the center of the lake above. Climbing difficultly up on the ice, Ursula came to see the frozen water and in the center the building. A strange pyramid building that was rather huge. They had been told to search inside for the source of the freezing. Some spoke of the past where an Ice Golem was causing the region to freeze, one of the Vile Four. There were hopes spoken that he hadn't returned.
Shivering again, Ursula looked down at her clothing. She didn't really cloth for this type of weather, but she had gotten through it before. Now standing on the ice of the lake, she practiced a few punches in the air, knowing that when they'd encounter some monsters, she easily could keep herself warm by fighting. With that thought, she turned to her companion to see how he was holding up. Looking over at the Dark Knight, Ursula wasn't very familiar with him, but he was there when she came to aid this town, having come there for the same reason.
It was simply easier to cooperate than to work separate she had felt, hopefully the man... who looked very much like a woman... thought the same. Shaking her head, she puffed her cheeks. "Let's us find this problem," she said with a smile while continuing over the ice. The cold wind didn't really help either, but she figured once they reached the Ice Pyramid the wind at least would be gone and they could start doing things in whatever way they felt best comfortable with.
With that thought, Ursula walked over the lake, sometimes slipping a little due to the ice. She was well trained to maintain her balance, so the ice wasn't that much of a hassle and she prevented herself from falling. Once she reached the opening in the pyramid, she simply continued inside and looked further inside. The ground here by the entrance was snowy and had a good hold, but the further she looked, it almost shined the ice on the ground. She knew that outside wasn't as slippery due to all the snow, but this seemed like they would only end up sliding. Looking again towards the Dark Knight, in case he had followed and perhaps had an idea for all the ice, otherwise they could slide onward. There weren't any monsters just yet. |

| When Ursula turned around to check on her newfound companion, she’d no doubt discover that Dieter was at the most perhaps five feet away. If she’d chosen to inspect further, she’d notice that there were a series of gouges that lined the path they’d taken – he’d resorted to using his blade as a means to anchor himself and prevent himself from toppling over. However, he didn’t seem as perturbed by their frigid environment, although that was arguably due to the fact he’d purchased a new ensemble before they’d departed the village. He’d had a traded wispy, semi-translucent robe in favor of a knitted burgundy scarf, a thick leather jacket that was lined with down of some sort, sturdy britches and a pair of low-heeled leather boots. He’d sigh to himself as he’d closed the distance between them, extending his hand towards Ursula for a fraction of a second, his lips moving in silent prayer. Before she could object, his hand erupted in a vibrant amaranthine flame, he’d forced it grow steadily in an effort to prevent his comrade from turning into a “monkicle”. She’d be no use for the duration of their hunt, if she’d frozen to death. He’d nodded his head in agreement, pleased with the idea of escaping the biting cold and frigid winds – his cheeks felt like he’d rubbed them against the side of a Cactaur. His lips inched downwards, disapproval visible upon his face as he’d studied the immediate interior of the Temple… “ I’ll take lead… I can use my sword as an anchor.” He’d said softly as he’d let the flame he’d conjured die out, rolling his wrist once or twice as he’d prepped his blade. Before he’d took a step out onto the ice, his grip on his blade tightening as he’d began to glide forward. For the time being, he didn’t notice the presence of Fiends or monsters, but he had no doubt in the back of his mind that they were lying in wait.

The Ice Pyramid
Danger lurks upon the frozen ground.
☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ Upon entering the Ice Pyramid, the entrance itself had snow, but further inside the floor itself was frozen and slippery, making it difficult to stand without slipping and perhaps sliding through the room. The room itself was large with several pots in the center along with a strange chest. The ice these items stood on seemed fragile and might break easily. Close to the entrance was a ladder up the wall that seemed to lead up to a different floor, but when one would look up, there seemed to be a door with a lock. At the complete opposite corner of the room from the entrance was an elevated area that didn't seem to reach the wall. Thus, leaving some place to allow between the two walls to find perhaps a staircase or something to reach the elevated area.
When the two entered and moved forward, slowly a clicking sound came throughout the room. The clicking was at first loud, but soon dimmed and became silent. The sounds seemed to come from the ice within the room, but there was no show of damage to the ice itself. The ice still looked normal and with the sound stopping, the ice was silent before them. The door above the ladder seemed to be cold and large, unlikely to be easily damaged or broken through, but not impossible. However, as this was a temple of the village, perhaps it was better reasoned to not destroy the place as they searched for the reason the land had frozen. ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ TAG: @ursula, Dieter Wolfram WORDS: 255 NOTES: I'll be using this to make posts relevant to the rooms as we go. | I JUST WANNA DANCE WITHOUT YOU!
The Dark Knight seemed to have little trouble with the ice as he appeared to use his sword. Ursula didn't really have swords nor use for them. Her prefered weapons were fists, feet, and when things got tough, she'd use claws. The man came nearer as they reached the temple, having created fire. Or rather, did he just set his hand on fire? “Doesn't that... hurt?” It didn't appear to hurt him at all, he didn't know of any mages that could do that with fire. They usually let it just fly. What odd world might he come from. Thinking back, she figured she'd best remind herself of his name, Dieter. Before she ended up misspeaking herself.
The man suggested he'd take the lead. Looking around the cave, it was quite large. The flame was gone again as the man seemed to prepare using his sword, “isn't that harmful for the sword?” she asked curiously. She doubted Cecil or even Kain with his spear would use their weapons like that. Not like she had a better idea, apart from sliding. Thinking about it, she wondered if she'd better equip her Flame Claws. Both for the warmth as well as melting some of the ice around here.
Watching Dieter step forward, there was a sudden clicking sound going through the entire room that shocked her. Her body moved immediately in a battle stance as she prepared to hit whatever was around. Her face looking around through the cold room, it was somewhat lid that she kept wondering where most light came from. She didn't see much for torches. There was also no obvious telling where the sounds came from. After studying the walls and the ice, she found nothing and stood back normally as she looked behind through the open entrance, but even there was nothing.
“You see anything?” she asked, bothered by the sound that had vanished now. Walking forward, she pondered on sliding over the ice around Dieter and stay with him or stay by the entrance for now. “I could slide towards the other side and use the wall to leap back if needed?” she suggested, wondering if what Dieter was doing was a good idea, “I'm not sure you're able to fight when you're trying to anchor yourself.” |

| The corner of the Dark Knight’s lips twitched, threatening to inch upwards in response to Ursula’s concern for his wellbeing – despite it being unnecessary. He’d responded in kind with a dismissive shake of his head, silently reassuring her that his conjured flames were harmless to him – albeit that was due to the fact until he’d fired it off, the mana fueling it was semi-inert. Although, surprisingly even once he’d fired it off, he still possessed minor control over the flames – the downside was that it required too much focus to be used during combat. When his sword bit into the ground the first time, Ursula questioned his actions, inquiring if his actions were harmful to his blade. “It isn’t particularly good for the blade…” His vice trailed off indefinitely as the deafening clicking noise echoed throughout the entire room. His grip around the hilt of his blade tightened as he’d wrenched it free from the ice, shakily brandishing it in front of him. His eyes narrowed as he’d scanned his immediate surroundings, actively attempting to locate the source of the ruckus. When he’d scanned the room, he’d notice that there was nothing to provide illumination – though the room remained well lit. He’d shook his head in response to Ursula’s question, he hadn’t noticed anything out of the ordinary. “ Do what you must.. I’ll follow behind… I don’t believe we ever introduced ourselves. My name is Dieter.” He retorted quietly, refusing to acknowledge that she had a valid point. If Dieter was using his blade to anchor himself, he couldn’t feasibly use it to fight back. | I JUST WANNA DANCE WITHOUT YOU!
Slightly amused by the Dark Knight, Ursula tried not to seem like she was enjoying herself too much when it seemed the man agreed with her. The blade was getting harmed and he was unable to really do much fighting while in such a position. Looking around the cave again, the man allowed her to do what she felt best. The princess shrugged, not like she was going for his permission anyway. But there were introductions in order.
“I am Ursula,” she responded with a smile before taking a bit of a running start as she leapt onto the ice. Sliding across, she aimed for the corner as she slipped past Dieter over the ice. Her control in balance was showing as she didn't fall while sliding. Near the corner, she bent her both knees as she leapt up against the wall and pushed herself from there off to the left to slide towards the elevated area. “I wonder where all the baddies are!” she called out to Dieter, amused with the current situation. Also hoping a little to call something out by shouting towards the Dark Knight.
While sliding, she disappeared behind the elevated area before walking up there from the staircase behind. “This bit isn't made of ice!” she called out to Dieter with a smile. The ice rumbled a bit from the center when she called out. Looking around from her position, she still just saw the pots and the chest, but now had a clear view of the ladder to the door as well. Looking well, she saw the lock, but pondered if it was even locked in the first place. It'd be odd if the key was in the chest. Looking from her position, she was certain the ice was too fragile to walk on in the center where the chest and pots were.
“Do you think the chest contains a key?” she wondered, curious why this room seemed... so simple in comparison to some places she had been in the past. Ursula had adventured a lot with her friends from her own world, but usually it had a lot of trouble lurking everywhere. |

| Ursula promptly introduced herself with a smile before she’d taken a handful of steps backwards. Dieter’s brows arched upwards, curious to what she intended to do. Before he could inquire, she’d surged forward and leapt past him onto the ice. He’d half expected to hear a shrill screech as she’d lost her balance. However, much to his surprise Ursula landed without issue, gliding across the icy surface with unnatural ease. For a moment, he stood there in a mixture of disbelief and awe, concerned with what she’d ended to do as she’d neared the corner. For one reason or another, she’d let her knees buckle as she’d lowered herself closer to the ground. Once she almost collided with the wall, she’d pushed off the frigid floor and used the icy wall as a platform. In the midst of this display, Ursula had found enough time to inquire about the lack of monsters, something that forced an abrupt chuckle from his lips. Dieter forced himself to take a deep breathe as he’d swung his blade outwards, his opposite arm darting out to steady himself as he’d holstered his weapon. He took a daring step forward, regretting that decision immediately as he’d almost fell flat on his rump. He’d gritted his teeth in frustration as he’d corrected his posture once again, daringly proceeding forward following in Ursula’s footsteps. Although, notably with more than a handful of hiccups, muttered curses and what would likely turn into some painful bruises. Once he’d reached the same wall that Ursula had pushed off as, one could hear an audible thud, it’d echoed through the cavern followed by a pained groan – Dieter had just slammed it into it. Much to his surprise, the wall didn’t give in the least – how thick was this ice? He’d wondered as he’d remained motionless and caught his breathe. A couple minutes later, he’d arrived to Ursula’s current position, albeit notably more fatigued and disheveled. His daunting facial expression suggested that talking about what had just occurred wasn’t advised. “It very well may Mi’lady, the ice doesn’t look as thick though…. If I could launch you to the chest, do you think you could retrieve it?” He’d asked, not willing to force his newfound companion into a situation that she felt she was ill-equipped for. Of course, he’d neglected to mention before doing so that he was going to use a handful of his Sword arts to grant her a handful of boons such as Haste, Regen, Protect, and Shell – she’d be well taken care of if for any reason something went awry. Aside from the chest, he was definitely curious to the purpose of the pots, they just didn’t seem like they naturaly belonged in the chamber.

| I JUST WANNA DANCE WITHOUT YOU!
Ursula tilted her head, watching the Dark Knight as he started to make his way to her after hitting the wall. It seemed he had some idea on how he was handling his predicament, but he was definitely making more effort than she felt needed. It didn't take long, but he got to her position and she nodded to him. Placing her hands together, she focused on her inner energy before using Chakra as the man would feel rejuvenated and regain fatigue. She hoped to at least have him feel a bit better.
The suggestion had her turn back to the view as she watched the pots and chest, "unsure... While I wouldn't mind the being launched part," she started while tilting her head again and narrowing her eyes, "wouldn't the force of the throw make me fall through the ice over there?" With how it looked less thick there, she didn't want to go and crack through and... per chance... fall into water and freeze. Perhaps finding a way to move the chest would be better? Otherwise, a way to calmly move onto the ice instead of just wrecking straight through it.
"The chest could very well be on thin ice and we'd only get into trouble by moving through," she continued. Thinking about it, "or is the idea to launch me over the ice as in sliding straight for the chest?" she asked with a smile. Perhaps it'd be an idea, "but it depends on the chest's weight and how well the ice would hold if we start moving it." She wasn't entirely certain if this was the best course of action, she doubted they had rope or anything and try to just pull the chest in from the ice. Sliding across at full force and grabbing the chest along the way seemed like it'd work best.
"Let's just try it, if anything goes wrong I will use the chest to leap off the ice and... well, we're probably even further away from victory, but I cannot think of anything else, do you?" she shrugged with a small laugh. |

| Dieter regarded Ursula with due caution as she’d reached towards him, halting mid-way to press her palms together. He’d breathed an audible sigh of relief, Ursula’s posture differed little from that of an Ivalcian Monk when they invoked Chakra . His breath steadied as Ursula’s ministrations eased his fatigue and helped diminish the pain he’d felt from his numerous accidental injuries. Ursula turned away from him as she’d surveyed the scene, after a moment or two she’d responded to his inquiry. She’d brought up a valid point, if the trajectory of the launch was off by even a small margin – they ran the risk of her plummeting into whatever was hidden behind the thin layer of ice.
Dieter nodded his head in response, confirming that he intended to launch her directly at the chest. It was the most straightforward approach, albeit one could also claim that it was also the most inherently dangerous – it didn’t bode well if a singular thing went wrong. Sadly, they had no way of knowing the weight of the chest, not without getting close enough to try to lift it themselves. How did animals traverse the ice so effortlessly? Dieter though to himself as he’d racked his brain trying to recall an animal that thrived in such environments. He knew some animals were able to better disperse their weigh by spreading their paws. Alas, humans were incapable of mimicking such a feat due to their anatomy. “Are you certain, Mi’lady?”
Dieter asked as he’d brandished his blade and extended it out in front of him. His eyes fluttered shut as he began to recite a series of incantations, albeit short, one could sense the power contained within the words. He’d halted suddenly in the middle of his incantation as a new idea dawned on him.
“Oh ye spirits housed within thy blade, awaken……
He’d took a deep breathe in, momentarily forgetting his surroundings as he’d dedicated his entire focus on what he was about to do.
“Oh ye spirits housed within thy blade, awaken scornful lovers, seek thy revenge, Ame-no-Murakumo.”
When the last word left his mouth, Dieter daringly inched his way forward until he stood just a foot away form where the ice thinned. His eyes narrowing as a benevolent, cerulean aura exploded from his blade. From that newly manifested light, one could see three distinctly humanoid shapes begin to danced about. With a singular nod of his head, the trio of specters surged forward and encircled the chest and attempted to lift it. Their phantasmal bodies solidifying momentarily as they’d attempted their issued task.
An art rumored to awaken spirits associated with the very metal used to forge a swordsman’s blade. When awakened, they cause the blade to pulsate with a benevolent, baleful cerulean aura. This lasts a fraction of a second before a trio of unknown specters from his blade and encircle foes in his proximity [ Can affect up to three if they are within 1.5 M of Dieter]. Their dreary presence brings with it a sensation of malaise, fatigue and most importantly has an offset chance of inflicting them with Slow. The Ice Pyramid
Danger lurks upon the frozen ground.
☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ As Dieter got closer to the thin ice, there was some light trembling of the ice that sounded softly in the room. Then when the spirits appeared and drew close to the chest, the ice started to crack in the center around the chest. The three cases started to slide away as the ice slowly seemed to go upward. Cracks appeared all over the ice and a giant crab shot out of the ice as its massive claw went out at the spirits. It attempted to grab the spirits and crush them within its massive claw.
The giant crab was a larger variation of a Freezer Crab, having grown much larger than usual. On top of its head, the chest was mounted and seemed to not move at all even when the Freezer Crab had for a part come out of the ice. The ice around that wasn't as thin still stood and only a few small cracks were there, but the center area was completely collapsed and gone as the giant crab took that space. The vases had now moved towards the sides of the Freezer Crab and one behind it.
From the location where Dieter and where Ursula were at, they could just see the vases at the sides of the Freezer Crab, which started to crack too. Tentacles came out of the vases' cracks and it was like an eye was staring through a crack in the center. However, the vases stayed standing where they were while the creatures within the vases stared intently at the two fighters that opposed them. Then the eye seemed to spark, it used Para-stare in case either of them were looking at one of the vases. If the ability hit, then they would be paralyzed for one round. ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ TAG: @ursula, Dieter Wolfram WORDS: 298 NOTES: Sorry this took a while. TAGDieter Wolfram WORDS322 OOCI'll probably get some others to do the Crab and Vases, lol. | I JUST WANNA DANCE WITHOUT YOU!
While a bit confused why the man was brandishing his blade, Ursula nodded on being certain. "Or did you get an idea?" she tilted her head with a bit of a smile and some confusion, but she didn't want to intrude on his thoughts. Perhaps he did get an idea?
When the man started incantations and returned on the ice with a dance, Ursula pondered whether that was a good idea. "You'll slip if you go there," she said, especially since he was heading for the thin ice, but she supposed perhaps the incantation was helping him from sliding away and onto the thin ice. Then spirits appeared from the blade, so that's what it is for, she thought curiously. Though, the trembling of the ice bothered her. When the ice started to crack she called again, "slide back here!" There was some panic when a massive claw came from the ice and went out to the spirits, but she figured the beings might return to the blade or wherever they came when gone much like summons.
Instead, her attention went out to Dieter, "I think we found what was causing the tremors from earlier," she said while she steadied herself on the higher ground. Then without warning, she leapt forward, but the leap went more like a flash as she flew at the Freezer Crab and spun while giving it a heavy Kick at its head right in front of where the chest stood, avoiding the massive claw. Then the flash continued as she flew onward and landed against the wall near the ladder up which she grabbed on and hung now on the wall for the moment. She noted the vase at the back having tentacles spawned from them. Though, she did note she was now a bit out of the way for Dieter, but tried to look over the giant crab at him.

| Dieter’s verdant eyes narrowed as he’d daringly inched closer to where the ice visibly thinned, the light tremble resonating throughout the chamber didn’t bode well with him – something was definitely amiss. It wasn’t until his trio of specters were within arms width of the chest that the creature lying in wait pounced. The ice beneath the chest splintered, frigid shrapnel bombarding the surrounding area as a massive pincer emerged from beneath the ice’s surface. Of course, the pincer was followed shortly after by the colossal crustacean, its’ claws resembled crude guillotines as they’d gnashed against one another. Thank the Scions, I didn’t send Ursula out to investigate first. . His attention remained raptly focused upon the Freezer Crab , not bothering to pay the Vase Mimics any heed, despite hearing the audible cracks of the vases.
Of course, Ursula’s warning didn’t go unheeded as he’d dipped his blade downwards, using it as a waypoint to switch directions. Hastily, retreating back towards her direction to avoid plummeting into the frigid waters, uncertain if he’d manage to escape the rapidly fragmenting sections of ice. His grip around the hilt of his blade tightened as Ursula’s legs tensed and she’d propelled herself forward. His lips moved rapidly, the words interpreted as a frantic murmuring. However, it was much more than that, it was the cantrip to activate yet another of his Blade Arts – Masamune . A pentagram exploded upon the ice’s surface, one of its’ fine points extending under Ursula. Its’ energy shot upwards and momentarily encircled her as well as Dieter, blessing them with a boon Haste and Regen
He’d inspected his surrounding before he’d extended his hands in the direction of one of the vases.
“Out of the ground, raze all greenery with flame! Fira!”
A plume of fire spiraled from his hand, its’ amaranthine flames tried to devour the Vase to the right of the Vase. Certainly, it wasn’t wise to make use of such magick, albeit, he doubted it’d damage the surroundings too much as long as he’d kept it within the first two tiers of magick didn’t spam it back to back.

The Ice Pyramid
Danger lurks upon the frozen ground.
☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ Snipping its claw, the Freezer Crab kept its focus on the spirits at first before slowly turning its attention to Dieter and Ursula before it. With Ursula leaping straight at it and hitting its head, the damage to its head was visible as there was a small screeching sound while the entire body seemed to shake. The enormous crab moved a bit before from its mouth came an icy foam. It sent out the foam at Dieter that was still before it. The Icy Foam was a water-elemental attack and spread like bubbles as it was blown from the crab's mouth.
The trio of vase mimics had come to stand up before flame hit one. With a screeching sound, the vase tumbled and rolled. The vase was further cracked, but the singular eye was glowing red. It pulled itself back up and started to run on its thin legs towards Dieter. The entire body of the creature within the face was slowly flaring up red before the creature exploded from Selfdestruct. Pieces of vase flew around. The other two vase mimics had one wander circles below where Ursula was while the other was walked towards Dieter.
The Freezer Crab, while it blew its bubbles, suddenly launched its large claw backwards as it aimed for Ursula by the ladder. Its eyes were on stalks, allowing it to see around itself. ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ ☩ TAG: @ursula, Dieter Wolfram WORDS: 230 NOTES: 2 mimics left. ENEMIES: Freezer Crab: 8 HP; Vase Mimics: 3 HP Para-stare: 2 post cd; Icy Foam: 2 post cd.

TAGDieter Wolfram WORDS215 OOCMaybe next time someone does the Crab and Mimics... | I JUST WANNA DANCE WITHOUT YOU!
Watching Dieter move, Ursula hoped he knew what he was doing before the pentagram appeared below her by surprise. The effects taking hold, Ursula smirked. Well, he has some interesting abilities, she thought to herself while looking from her position at the status of things. However, it seemed the Freezer Crab wasn't going to sit still.
After her attack, it had moved and started doing some kind of foam attack forward at Dieter. Still, it was stuck in the ice, so much movement it didn't do outside shaking sideways. The smaller beings below she noted as well, one running at Dieter after he had hit it with a fire spell. The entire vase creature then exploded, which caught her by surprise. Though, when suddenly a shadow overlapped her position and the claw was smacked backwards from the Crab's position, Ursula didn't see where she could move to as she just leapt from where she was. The claw crashing into the wall.
Ursula then landed on the ice, trying to minimize the impact with her legs and arms placed. However, due to the slippery ice, her hand and legs slipped away and she smacked flat on the ice. A low grumble came from her out of a slight annoyance that she hadn't thought of this.
