It was nighttime when Rina and Ravus touched down on the Planet. She had hidden them in her usual hiding spot. Rina had landed them gently into a shallow pool that was surrounded by a ring of mountains. No one had seemed to find the ship in all of the years she had lived there, so she figured that it was still safe. After touching down with a gently bump, Rina had flipped some switches and the motor whirred down before stopping completely. " We're here." she said softly, under her breath. Then she turned in her chair towards Ravus. " We're here." she repeated more loudly. " We're about 30 minutes out from Costa del Sol. Sorry, that I couldn't get us closer. It's not a bad walk though. 15 down the path, and then 15 to the beach." Rina stood to throw a backpack on her shoulders and pick up a duffle bag too. " I...I meant to ask. You can fight, right? I kind of just assumed...There's probably some monsters hiding out somewhere on the path at this time of night." She shifted her bag into her other hand and summoned a dagger into the now free hand. " That shouldn't be too bad either. The closer to town we are, the fewer monsters there are." With the ship secluded and secured, Rina stepped out of the ship ready to lead Ravus down the mountain. " Ready when you are!" Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parm"] [attr="class","parmimg"]
[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Ravus had not felt very comfortable in that machine at first, sitting in the backseat and watching what Rina did with the controls the whole time. He had looked outside the window once, but immediately tried to focus on something else when he realized this thing had really brought them into space. He was baffled however how.. colorful it was outside. It almost looked like someone had painted their surroundings with washed up colors, shining in bright green, blue and white at some points. He had always imagined space to be as dark as the night... It was weird. They reached their destination after some time, the ship landing safely on what seemed to be the world called Planet. Once they reached their destination, Rina would ask him a few questions first and give him important information about their location. First, they are in what seemed to be a rather well-hidden place, which also meant they could be ambushed by monsters living nearby. Second, the Beach was not far away from them how it seemed, only half an hour walk, so they are not to far away from help, should they get caught up into something. If they made enough noise in the dark, the people at Costa del Sol could hear them.... Third and most irritating one, Rina questioned his skills for combat. The commander raised an eyebrow at this, got up and looked at the blade on his hip. “.. I should be fine.”He sighed, stepping outside the ship with Rina and followed the girl, seeming to watch his surroundings rather carefully, one hand always at the blade. “What kind of creatures could we encounter? I need to know what I might have to face. Is there something I need to know about the wildlife?”

Rina was grateful that the moon was full tonight. She shed enough light down on her and Ravus that Rina could easily make out the path and a short distance around them and not feel like they were going to be ambushed. She glanced behind to see Ravus as he questioned what sort of monsters they may encounter. Rina shrugged her shoulders and made a small 'I don't know' noise. " Sometimes there's some mountain wolves that'll feel frisky and come out to cause some trouble. Never more than 2 or 3 at a time. The birds that hang out near the beach will come up here to roost at night and if you disturb them they get pissed. Just garden vari…hey…" At that moment Rina stopped in her tracks, grabbing on to the back of Ravus' coat to keep him in place. Her eyes scanned all around them, furrowed in the middle. She didn't see anything, but something was definitely making an unsettled feeling in her bones. " Sorry...I just had a weird feeling." Rina continued to look around, still seeing nothing but the wind blowing around some dirt and detritus from the path. Then she smelled it. A smell that was almost worse than death and just as unmistakable. " Do you smell that?!" Looking towards Ravus, no she was looking behind him with wide eyes, Rina grabbed his wrist and began to pull urgently. Looming a few feet awake from them, but slinking closer was an absolutely nightmarish creature. It was huge with long tentacles and even longer teeth. At least a dozen glowing eyes were peering at them and the stench became more unbearable as it got closer. " Ravus! Malboro!" Ravus Nox Fleuret

Ravus followed Rina quietly as he waited for an answer to his question. He seemed to relax slightly when she mentioned wolves and some birds, however he would immediately stiffen when Rina grabbed him, the hand on his sword seeming to intensify it's grab, ready to draw it now. She apologized for her sudden reaction, but it seemed her senses had picked up something for real. A disgusting smell started to tingle in his nose, the man immediately narrowing his eyes. He didn't even need Rina's warning to understand that something was close to them that was not rather friendly. He knew this smell all to well, but he was certain that it couldn't be THAT creature, could it? They were monsters from his home... "Ravus! Malboro!"
What? Malboro? So.. these monsters were not limited to his home?! Ravus couldn't believe this, so he would turn around, drawing his sword to look at the enemy with his own eyes, only to see that this truly was a Malboro! It even looked exactly like those of his home. “That.. is impossible. Marlboro's are from Eos...!”
The commander shook his head, trying to stay calm right now. If he truly wasn't seeing and smelling things, than this was an enemy they should better run from. Fighting a Marlboro and also at night? It sounded like suicide. These creatures were known to be a walking toxic trap that could cause death by just breathing once at you. He froze up for a moment, looking at the many eyes of the creature, moving his hand to grab Rina's. Ravus knew how to defend himself but against a Malboro? He had never thought these monsters alone and he had no antidotes on him. There was only one thing they could do... “Rina... Run!!”
He grabbed the girl and tried to make a dash with her to get away from that thing as fast as possible. This was no fight they could do by themselves now, could they? “Move it!”

A surprised yelp escaped Rina's lips as Ravus grabbed her and all but dragged her down the path. She tried to keep up, but Ravus's was a bit taller than her and her legs just couldn't keep up. Her booted feet slid in the dirt as she tried to find solid purchase, but finding none. Her foot finally caught under a stone and she was torn from Ravus' grasp, sprawling face first onto the ground. Groaning, she tried to scramble to her feet quickly because the Malboro seemed to be chasing them. She could hear the creature snarling and squelching as it crawled closer. The young woman had just regained her footing when she felt something wrap tight around her ankle and yank her back down into the dirt. Landing on her back she began to scream as the monster's tentacle began to drag her towards its gaping maw. Rina kept screaming as she writhed and jerked her foot trying to rid herself of her boot so she could slip free. Nearly in a panic Rina summoned one of her daggers and lifted herself forward to stab it deep into the tentacle that had her. The Malboro screeched, but didn't release her. However the grip loosened just enough that she could pull her foot free and scramble back towards Ravus. " Go, go go!" As her feet slammed repeatedly into the ground as she ran she felt the dull ache of a sprained ankle start to form. She pushed through the pain as she sprinted only to stop and start to limp as they emerged close to town. The town's night lights were shining and the ocean waves could be heard crashing in the distance. They should be safe now. Nearly wheezing and with her ankle giving out, Rina crashed down into the grass lying on her back. " For the love of Ifrit and Shiva, what the f**ck! Malboros! They don't like the heat! Or the water! What is that thing doing so far from the glacier!? You...you okay?" Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parm"] [attr="class","parmimg"]
[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Ravus didn't care that he was mostly dragging her, because of his height. A Marlboro was one of the most dangerous creatures that were not demons, at least in his home. Should it's breath get in contact with them, both would most likely not survive to tell the tale of their encounter. Ravus knew they were followed by the creature and it only made him sprint faster, holding a tight grip on the girl. However, it seemed the commander had forgotten to take one thing in account: The girl's shorter legs. She tripped and Ravus lost the grip as the Marlboro grabbed her and started to drag her back. He immediately tried to stop his sprint and take a turn, shock written on his face. “Rina!”
He drew his sword, ready to come to her aid, when the girl suddenly summoned a weapon out of nowhere and stabbed the arm that held her tightly. She freed herself and continued to run, visibly limping now however, the Malboro seeming rather enraged by the pain if felt from the dagger. Ravus had to make sure that the girl could outrun the beast with that wound, so he decided to attack himself in hopes of slowing it down. He drew his sword, getting in position and scanned the creature for a weak point to slow it down. The thing about Malboro is the missing eyes you could target, but if it can't move correctly, fleeing can get easier. So he focused his eyes on the tentacles it used to move, his sword charging up with electricity. He waited till Rina passed him, before he would release the gathered energy in a slash that cut through air, hitting the Malboro at it connecting point of the tentacles. It was not enough to cut through the thick body, but it was cutting deep into it's flesh and what connected the tentacles together. The creature roared, seemingly losing balance and stumbling to the side. Ravus put his sword away after the attack hit it's mark and returned to his sprint, following Rina. He kept running, even after he couldn't hear the Malboro in the distance anymore, only stopping when he saw Rina slow down and her legs giving away. He rushed to her aid, kneeling down to check her foot. His heterocromic eyes narrowed at her remark about the Malboro. “I'm alright..”, he answered to her question, carefully checking her leg over, not caring if she wanted him to help or not. “The Malboros I know are usually living in swamps.... they like the heat, as long as there is enough water in the air and food close by. Malboros living in a glacier is something I never heard off.”
Taking in the condition of her foot, he would sigh. “It's not broken or any muscles crushed. You will be fine.”Ravus offered his hand to the girl to help her up. “Do you think you can continue to walk the rest to the town? Or do you want me to carry you?", the prince asked with a slightly raised eyebrow.

" Ow..." Rina made a face as she slid her sock and boot off to examine her foot. She flexed her toes and slowly tried to make a circle with her ankle. Ravus then grabbed her foot, and gently began to look over it. She winced a few times, but otherwise wasn't having much pain with him just looking at it. Rina had looked away, embarrassment flushing her cheeks. Part of it was also irritation with herself because she didn't know why this made her feel so awkward. It wasn't like she tripped on purpose. Things like this happened. Maybe it was because it made her feel small and weak compared to Ravus, sitting here nearly incapacitated. She should have been better, more tough. The tough girl who made it through the slums was still somewhere in there. As Ravus looked her over he explained that the Malboros from his home lived in the swamps and liked the heat. These sounded like complete opposites to the Malboro they had just encountered. Rina was quiet (pouting) as she spoke. " There's caves in and around the glaciers. Every now and then one will come out to pester, but...they shouldn't be here. That one was out of place." Ravus then released her foot, reassuring her that there was no serious injury. Slipping her boot back on and taking his outstretched hand, she murmured a quiet, but earnest thank you. She moved her hand from his to the crook of his elbow for a moment so she could balance out her weight. The girl still must have had anguish on her face, because Ravus offered to carry her the rest of the way into town. Her face flushed deeper than before and she adamantly shook her head. " N-no. I'm good." She reached into her thankfully intact backpack and pulled out a mini vial of Potion, downing it like a shot. It wouldn't heal her, but it would at least dull the ache as they walked. She would need to rest when they arrived. Still pink, Rina gestured out to the town. " Let's go." ------------------------------------------ A short time later they made it into town. The crashing of the waves was a pleasant sound to Rina's ears and the warm breeze that blew through her hair made her smile. Home. Her ankle was starting to ache again and a migraine was forming between her eyes but not even that was dampening her happiness of being at Costa del Sol. Rina steered them to the inn and knocked three times on the door. There was just a second of a pause before the door slammed open and the innkeeper descended upon Rina. The frazzled woman fussed as she looked over Rina, the dirt on her clothes, and the fact that apparently Rina and Ravus were late for check in. " I know, I know. We had some delays. Are the villas ready? We're tired." Giving Rina a stern glare, she handed over two sets of keys before leaning over to hug Rina and press a kiss to her cheek. Trying to be clandestine as possible the woman quickly whispered a bit of information into Rina's ear. Rina gave a slight nod in response. To the unaware, nothing looked out of place. Rina grinned and returned a kiss to the woman. " Thanks Lou. See you at breakfast." Rina looked over to Ravus and turned her head towards the area behind the inn. " Back here. We get to stay in the Villas." She handed Ravus one set of keys and led him to a quaint row of beachside cottages. Most of them were single cottages, but there were a few that were slightly closer together and had a connecting fenced in patio in between. Rina took them to one of these. " Completely separate and private spaces, except for the patio. Breakfast is at 8. We can make a battleplan. I'll...I'll leave the middle door unlocked. Just in case you need anything." Just in case you need me. " Thanks for saving me. I guess we're even now." She smiled at Ravus before walking into her cottage. " Night, Ravus." Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Rina tried to hide her embarrassment from him, but Ravus saw the redness on her face and ears, even though she tried to hide it, the commander tilting his head slightly when she didn't take his aid to get up. She decided to rather walk without any help and Ravus did not stop her. He had seen that look on her face, knowing well not to push this right now. This is not his first encounter with a woman, after all and he knew when to keep his mouth shut. Ravus was amused though how she tried to act all tough in front of him right now. The commander quietly followed her, keeping his thoughts to himself for now. The remark about the Malboro made him a bit worried though... What was this creature doing here? As they reached Costa del Sol, Ravus found himself raise an eyebrow once more. This place looked like a rather popular vacation-spot, reminding him of the Galdin Quay a bit. It was night, but the air was still pretty warm, paired with the soft breeze of the ocean and smell of saltwater. Quietly, the man followed the woman to a door, waiting patiently behind her as she took things in her hands now. It seemed she knew the person that owned the Inn, both acting like they were actually pretty close, exchanging kisses on the cheeks, Ravus turning his head away to give them a least a bit of privacy. He felt a little out of place, to be honest. As soon as Rina started to move again, he would do the same, following her to what seemed to their place for the night. A cottage. Hm, it has been ages since he had last slept in something like this. 20 years tops. The girl led him to the two cottages they would sleep in tonight. She had been so kind to give them two separate apartments. It was nice knowing she valued privacy.... The pale man listened to her information, giving her a small nod and watching her disappear in her cottage for the night, remaining outside with the keys in his hand for a moment. “... Good night.”, he would murmur, even though he knew she couldn't hear him anymore, the man turning to his cottage with a soft sigh. It was weird how similar this world and his was. Planet even had Marlboro... were these stars connected maybe? All of this sounded way to familiar and it made him a little uncomfortable. Shaking the thought off, the man would enter his sleeping quarters for the night. He didn't really feel tired tough, so he took off his armor and went to the window of the bedroom, opening it fully and letting in the fresh breeze. He leaned outside, his face turned to the sky to watch the moon and all the stars in the sky. This place seemed so peaceful... Ravus couldn't help but think back to his home, wondering what was going on in Eos right now. Knowing that Ardyn seemed to be alive... had Noctis not been able to save their home from this evil? Had it fallen to the eternal darkness? He closed his eyes, feeling some emotions well up inside of him that were still fresh. “Sister...”------------------------------------------ The sun was rising above the ocean slowly in the early morning hours, the first rays of light shining over the beach. Ravus was in his bed, still sleeping, when a sound softly shook him from his dreams. It was a howl in the distance. His eyes opened, the man groaning. He was about to close his eyes again and try to continue his sleep when the howl reached his ears again. Now he was fully awake, sitting up rather fast.. maybe to fast for his body right now, since he got a little dizzy from it. It sounded like a normal dog for others, but Ravus knew this howl. He blinked, jumping from his bed and sprinting to the window to look outside, searching for the source of the sound. He couldn't see a dog, but he could still hear it from somewhere at the beach. He put on his pants and boots and slammed the front door open, running down the street to get to the beach.

With the sun slowly creeping up into the lightening blue sky, Rina found herself catching her breath in an alley near the Inn. She was near wheezing and had her hands on her knees. I need to work out more. After causing a little trouble with the Turks and having to make a quick escape Rina concluded that the at-home life had making her on the softer side. She was slipping. As her breathing slowed Rina peeled her jacket off, pushing it into her bag and bent down to unlace her boots. Her injured ankle was starting to throb and she didn't want it to swell while still in a boot. Slinging those over her shoulder and tightening her grip on her backpack, Rina began to walk back to her villa. Most likely Ravus would still be sleeping. Rina hoped she could sneak in a nap before they got to work on their respective projects. Approaching the back door of her cottage a warm breeze began to kick up and Rina couldn't help but stop and close her eyes as it blew over her. Her hair had come loose as she ran, the ocean wind causing strands to tickle at her face. With a soft sigh Rina sat her boots and bag on the steps of the back patio. The sun was just about to crest over the horizon and Rina plopped down into the sand deciding to watch it rise before going to bed. The breeze continued and her eyes closed as she began to yawn but this was interrupted by the sharp bang of a door slamming. The sound seemed to be coming from Ravus' cottage. Rina looked behind her, frowning as she had no other noises or disturbances. Had it come from Ravus? She turned her eyes back towards the rising sun and ocean and that's when she saw a Ravus shaped figure at the bottom of bluffs running across the beach. Huh?" Ravus?!" Ravus Nox Fleuret

Ravus sprinted down to the beach, not caring who could see him break this usual image he held up for others to seem as cold as possible. If there was something that reached his hardened body from years of torment, it was his family.. And even if he didn't show it, Umbra and Pryna were also part of his family. They had protected his sister when he could not reach her, the messenger having been by her side till the end... He had not seen Umbra again after his sisters death, so he had thought that he had died with the last chosen of his bloodline, but maybe.. there was still hope. He would have to be terribly mistaken if he was not able to make out if a howl is coming from a messenger or not and he was almost certain that this could not be one of these times.
He reached the beach where he had heard the howl coming from, his eyes scanning the area frantically.
“..Umbra...?”
He could not see anything on the beach.. only the blue waters, sand and the rising sun above the ocean. It was a beautiful sight, but it left a painful gap in his heart not to find what he had hoped to see. He was already mentally scolding himself for his naivety, when he felt something touch his leg from behind, his body turning to look down at what was there. His eyes immediately started to water when his hopes hadn't been crushed after all. There he was, the black dog wit the curly tail and those orange eyes, looking up at him and panting with a wagging tail.
Ravus turned to the messenger, carefully putting his hand on it's head and touching it to see if it was real, before he would fall to his knees and pull Umbra into a embrace, holding the dog close.
“By the gods... I must be dreaming.”
The dog barked and licked his face, trying to comfort the man and sharing his happiness with him. Umbra seemed to have searched for the man for a long time, having left their home and travel the stars only to find him? It felt weird, but... Ravus didn't care how he did it or why. He was just feeling such happiness to have someone remain from what he called family.

Rina had found herself cross-legged in the sand and staring at Ravus in childlike wonder as he frolicked on the beach below. The amount of happiness on Ravus' face amazed Rina and made her happy as well. The short time that the pair had known each other Rina had just seen sadness and seriousness on the man's face. Not a lot of happiness. It dawned on Rina that either by exhaustion or her normal obliviousness she was missing some piece of the puzzle before her, but that just added to the amusement that she felt. Rina hadn't pegged Ravus to be the sort to seek out strange animals and seem to be enjoying their company but Rina could've been wrong. Maybe deep down he loved animals or at least liked them. With a small puff of laughter Rina lifted herself to her feet and brushed the sand from her legs. She figured she would give Ravus and his pup some privacy. She would work in a shower and that nap before they had to get down to the real work. Grabbing her boots and her stolen goods, Rina walking into her villa letting the screen door shut gently behind her. Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Umbra's existence outside of Eos surely seemed like some kind of miracle.. that, or he was still sleeping. The dog was happy about the petting he got from the man, the messenger wagging his tail with his tongue out, his eyes looking straight into Ravus eyes. The dog sniffed him than, seeming to check him over, before he would sneeze, rubbing his nose with his paw like he had smelled something his nose didn't like much. The man's expression slowly shifted back to his serious one. He was about to say something when the dog showed him his back, the bag for Lunafreya's book still there, even though it was missing the little book now. There was something else inside. Ravus raised an eyebrow and moved his hand inside the bag, pulling out a metallic object the man immediately recognized to be an emblem of his home. Was this for him? His fingers traced the symbol of his family with care, his eyebrow rising up a bit. What was the messenger trying to tell him? Had he come all this way to bring him this? The prince turned the emblem, his heterocromic eyes blinking in surprise, when he saw something written on the back. The gods have not forsaken you. Time will be on your side. You just have to call.
What a strange message... He looked up again, the man surprised to see that Umbra was gone now. Messengers had a way of showing up and vanishing into thin air again. Ravus wondered what Umbra was trying to tell him with this. He frowned and put the emblem into his pocket for now. He would find out soon enough, if the gods had any plans for him still. The man sighed, turning to where Rina's room should be, his eyes making out the footprints in the sand that led up to the door. …. He shook his head slightly, chuckling a bit, before he decide to return to his own cottage again to try and get a little more sleep. The sun was up completely when he woke up again. He took a quick shower, put on his clothes and armor and went over to Rina's cottage, to check if the woman was already awake.
