THIS IS A POST-KH3 THREAD *SPOILERS*
Lucky for Namine the Radiant Garden library huge and full off books of all kinds. So while Ienzo, Even, and Ansem were busy with their science theories and things, she nipped away to explore the books that was held within the castle. At the moment her fascination was with magic. She was pleased to found out that some of her abilities still remained with her even though she was in a new body. Enhancing those abilities and hopefully discovering new ones was her goal. She wanted to be of use to the others. She didn’t want to just sit around while all the other searched for Sora. She hadn’t told any of them yet, mainly because she didn’t want to get their hopes up, but she could feel that Sora was indeed out there somewhere. She had spoke to him in the final world, and other times as well when she was trying to help Terra regain himself. It wasn’t just a feeling she had either. She could almost sense his heart. The connection she has with him and kairi were still there. It was faint but ever so often she would get hit with a strong emotion that didn’t belong to her. Namine hoped that if she strengthen her own abilities things would be clearer. So now she sat at one of the tables deep with in the labyrinth of shelves, with books upon books of basic magic surrounding her. On the table next to her was a lit candle she had set up to practice on. “Alright, Lets try thunder.” She said to herself as she looked over instructions on how to preform the spell without the use of magical objects. “It says here that I just have to feel the electricity that is naturally in the air, the positive and negative charges.” Namine read from the book. “I pull that in within me and then force it out. Hmmmmm, sounds simple.”Namine stood up and faced the candle on the opposite table. She stretched out her hand towards the candle and closed her eyes. She tried to feel that charges through the air as the book said. She opened her eyes and thrust her hand toward the sky and brought it down back down in front of her like she had pulled something from the air as the book illustrated…..nothing happened. With a disappointed look on her face she walked backed over to the book and re-read it. She followed it step by step, but nothing. If it wasn’t for the fact that when she Shapeshifted into other people who could do the spell, and she was able to preform it just fine at those times, though the effects were weaker then the original, she would have thought that she just wasn’t able to do that kind of magic, but this wasn’t the case “Maybe that spell is to advanced of the basics.” She said to herself trying to figure out what she did wrong. “Normally that is the third or forth spell that is learned. She flipped through the pages of the books and found the fire spell almost at the beginning. This one said that to conjuring fire you just have to use your aura to heat up the air around you, you then directed the heat at the target if you were going for a fire ball, or you focused the heat in a general area to maintain it. Once again the little Memory Witch got up to face the candle. She hoped that this one would be easier since she was also working with an object that generated fire. Her Crystal blue eyes closed for a second time. She tried to hone in on the different heat sources around her. The natural warmth of the room, the heat of the sun beams shining down in from the windows, even the heat of the candle it self. She opened her eyes and thrust her and out towards the candle. Everything happened so fast and all at once. The candle flickered, there was a white flash, a loud bang, and Namine found herself being blasted backwards into another bookshelf. The shelf trembled and sent a cascade of books down upon her forcing her to cover her head with her arms. Once the last book hit the ground and Namine thought it was safe to lower her arms she shook her head and tried to catch her breath that had been knocked out of her. “Well…that was a blast.” She slowly picked herself back up. She heard running coming from the hallway. “I am okay!” She called out. “ Everything is fine. Just fell into a shelf.” She figured that it was Aeleus or Dilan coming to check on her. Namine walked back over to the book, being careful not to trip over the other books that now littered her small area of the floor. “ Right, don’t play with fire indoors….I got that one Memorized.” She qouted her fire wielding friend, Lea. She once more flipped through the pages of the book and found the Blizzard spell. She looked over at the candle. “Third spells the charm.” This spell was similar to the fire spell but had to concentrate on cold and coolness. Maybe she would be able to put the candle out with this. That was going to be her goal. She read the page with the spell on it through a few times. Then, once more, placed herself facing the candle. She did a circular motion with her hand before thrusting it out in front of her. Nothing happened just like when she tried the Thunder spell. She sighed and tried again, and again, nothing. She remembered that when Sora used the spell he always said something. It didn’t say there was an incantation in the book, but maybe the familiar words would spark something. Namine took a deep breath and her hand preformed the circular motion, then as she thrust her hand out she cried out the same as Sora, “Deep Freeze!” ……..Nothing happened. The flame didn’t even go out, not so much as a flurry. Namine was frustrated by this point. In her frustration and in the blink of an eye she used her mind manipulating abilities to turn her appearance into that of the Snow Queen, Elsa, and blasted the Candle with her ice powers. The candles flame went out the moment that cold wind that produced hit it. The candle rose in the air and was encased in ice like a strange statue. The sun beams that hit the Ice statue that held the candle prisoner; bent, reflected, and refracted through the ice sending colorful caustics all over the walls, floor, shelves, and ceiling giving the Library the feeling of being underwater. The Transformed Namine transformed back in a flurry of snow to her normal appearance. She was breathing heavily in annoyance before she slumped in her chair, folding her arms over each other, and placed her head down upon them hiding her face. Riku

Ever since he departed from Kairi and the Destiny Islands, the search for Sora hadn’t really bore and result in the slightest. It was hard to find somebody whose heart was lost. Sora had abused the power of waking and Riku knew the punishment for that was not going to be so lenient. That being said it didn’t deter his search in the slightest. It was almost like searching for a needle in a haystack, but at the very least he knew overworking himself was not going to yield any result.
For now Riku made a pitstop at a world he was all too familiar with. Hollow Bastion, or rather, Radiant Garden was perhaps the first place he had ever been to since he had left the Islands. It was amazing how much things had changed ever since that time. The once gloomy and barren land was now filled with life and happiness. Riku could only smile as he looked around at the beautiful city go about its day, though his main destination was the giant castle that towered over the city.
The moment he came to the pathway his trek came to a halt as he stood in silence as he stared at the giant castle. At some point he once called it a temporary home, a place Maleficent game him when he led his true home into the darkness. It held some unsavory memories, but just like the city, Riku was sure that the castle was turning into something that was more so befitting of the peaceful city.
Now that he was in Radiant Garden there was one he wished to check up on, one that he shared a history with so to speak. Ever since that faithful battle he swore he would protect her in his place, but it was just because of his will alone. The two of them had worked a full year together. Though a painful year, he did nothing to help free the girl even after she was removed from her prison of a castle. He owed her a lot and he perhaps wouldn't even be standing here if it wasn’t for her as it was her that eased his fears. Now that she was back, Riku was going to make sure Namine was a prisoner no more.
Meeting his former enemies as allies was to say the least a rather awkward moment, especially after being let in by Aeleus considering their bout when he was Lexeaus. Regardless Riku was let in without any issues and was informed the memory witch was hiding out in the library. It was a moment for him to explore about for a moment, but before long he made it to the library where Namine was.
“Alright, Lets try thunder.”
The moment that Riku walked in from the top floor of the library, Riku raised an eyebrow as he heard the words of the former nobody and began to walk towards the sound of voice. Coming to a halt as he saw the head of blonde standing before a candle, Riku glanced down from the top floor and placed both arms upon the upper railing, making not a single noise in order to not interrupt her and what seemed to be her training. It was odd to say he was watching a witch to struggle with the most basic of spells, but that was what he was witnessing and Naminie wasn’t the typical kind of witch so to speak. In any case he was a bit surprised to see her training and intrigued at the same time. It was because of that which was why he didn’t interrupt her and watched on.
As she stated the first spell on her agenda was thunder and Riku watched ready to watch the bolt strike her target. Perhaps maybe standing in a higher floor wasn’t the best idea when it came to a spell that descended from above and especially when it came to a novice spellcaster, but It seemed Riku had nothing to worry about. With a dramatic hand wave there was nothing but silence as nothing happened.
…well it was a good try…
Riku thought as he couldn’t help but smile at her action. It was admirable that she wasn’t deterred by the failure of the spell and Riku was impressed she was willing to move on so earnestly. He could tell she was really trying hard to get this right and once Namine readied her next spell he watched ready to see if there would be any success.
Fire was perhaps the first spell most learned when it came to magicraft but perhaps training it indoors wasn’t the best idea. Riku contemplated on intervening, both for her safety and so the castle didn’t burn down, but Namine had already begun to cast the spell and then there was a flash of light. A loud bang echoed and Riku immediately covered his eyes from the light. There was a sudden loud crash and instantly Riku opened his eyes and took hold of the railing leaning forward to check on the condition of Namine as his heart began to race. “Nam-“ Riku was about to yell out but stopped as he saw the white clad girl pop out of the fallen books.
A sigh of relief escaped Riku as he relaxed himself and once again resumed watching. She didn’t seem hurt so there wasn’t anything to really worry about and even after that huge failure she was still going at it. With an elbow resting upon the railing and his cheek resting on his uprisen knuckle, Riku couldn’t help but watch the attempt at blizzard occur.
“Deep Freeze!”
A bead of sweat ran down his face as he watched and heard the rather embarrassing attempt of the blizzard spell. Sure she was still trying to mimic the dork Sora, but that didn’t make it any less dorky. All he really could do was force a smile on his face in an attempt not to laugh. It was from here that things took a sudden change. Riku’s eyes widened a bit in shock at the sudden burst of frustration as the girl transformed into one of Sora’s friends and froze the candle in a pill of ice.
The girl was defeated and Riku just looked down at the slumped girl with a smile, his cheek still casually resting on his knuckle. “Giving up already?” Riku called out with a smile before letting out a small chuckle. Taking hold of the railing, Riku push himself over it and jumped down from the upper floor and landed near the girl. “Need a hand?” Riku said.

Namine was so absorbed in what she was trying to do that her audience went unnoticed. Her body gave a small jump as her head lifted off her arms and turned to the source. A startled look was on her face until her blue eyes caught sight of the Silver haired young man watching her from the upper level. She beamed at him. “Have you ever known me to give up?” She continued to smile. “It is more rethinking my approach.”Just then a hunk of ice broke off of the ice sculpture that contained the candle within and slide to halt at her feet. “aaaaand have a well deserved tantrum…..I guess.” She looked down at the ice on the floor and the fallen books. “Some witch, huh?” Namine sighed feeling a little silly, but the smile was put back on her face when Riku chuckled. At least he seemed to be enjoying the show. Namine stooped down to start picking up the fallen books and placing them back on the self. A few about magic in different forms she placed on her table to look over later. When Riku jumped over the railing and land next to her she stood up to meet him, a book in her hand that she was going to place on an upper shelf since the lower ones were once again full. With her height she barely cleared his chest, and she had to tilt her face up to look at him properly at this distance. “There are stairs you know.” She said amused, then turned around to place the book on a higher shelf that she could reach. “A hand would wonderful, but…” Namine crouched down to pick up the chunk of ice that had fallen. “But I think the candle is vanquished.” She walked passed Riku and placed the ice on the table next to the tall ice tower it fell from, and knocked on the tower itself to show that the candle was frozen solid within. Namine looked a little down and she crossed her left arm just under her chest letting the right arm’s elbow rest on the wrist of the crossed arm, and her hand was brought up to her chin to stroke as she walked back over to the table with her books on magic. Other books laid under them if one was to pick up the magic titled ones. These books contained information as to hearts that were lost, where lost hearts would go, what laid beyond, and any indication on the power of waking and the world that of ocean and sky. There were also research notes on Replicas that Even was nice enough to let her borrow. Namine was trying to do her part in the search for Sora and one other heart. Her face was screwed up in concentration and confusion as she thought and looked over her books on magic. “I don’t understand where I would be going wrong. I have no problem with basic spells if I take on the form of another who can preform it…….so I don’t know why I can’t do it as myself.” She looked down at her hands and made littles fists before releasing her grasp then she looked back up at Riku. Her blue eyes were sad but determined to work through this. Riku

Namine took notice of his presence in the library and responding back with a rather confident response back at him. Just when he felt her spirits to be down it seemed she perked right back up ready to continue onwards. His eyes glanced over at the fallen piece of ice that soon fell and when Namine admit her tantrum Riku couldn’t help but chuckle once again. If there was one thing he knew from his years with Kairi, it was not to get the girl angry or frustrated. It seemed the two shared that in a way despite how kind and soft they appeared to be.
Hopping down and landing near to the girl, Riku smiled as he looked down at the girl. When she brought up the stairs Riku looked a bit embarrassed as he scratched the back of his head with a smile. “That sounds rather inconvenient” Riku said. After all the adventuring he had done and even playing on the island, such a jump wasn’t an issue in the slightest.
He was ready to be of assistance though her target was not so a target anymore and Riku couldn’t help but place a hand on his hip as he looked at the frozen sculpture before him. Even though it was the power of borrowing other’s powers it was still rather impressive to say the least. Even with that power she was still trying to better herself, they all were after Sora had disappeared.
Standing by the table filled with books, Riku decided to glance down at the assortment of books, picking up one of the magic focused books before noticing the more books that focused on the heart along with notes on the replica project that Even had been working on. Just seeing that instantly reminded him of the other ally that was gone after the battle with Xehanort. Riku was perhaps the only one who knew of his presence during the battle and perhaps one of the few that knew what happened to him. Riku couldn’t help but instinctively pick up the report while he though back to his replica. He had given up his chance to return to the world just for Namine’s sake, he devoted himself to protecting her and Riku respected those wishes. He didn’t want those wishes to be forgotten which was why he had told Namine about the replica’s actions.
As Namine returned to her books, Riku placed down the report and glanced back over at her, leaning against the table as he looked at her rather sad blue eyes. “You’re thinking about this in the wrong way...” Riku said as he closed his eyes and held his chin. “While yes you need wisdom to cast spells, it isn’t just about reading a book and expecting it to work” Riku said as he lowered his hand and opened his eyes once more as he looked over at the witch. “It’s also about finding what you are compatible with. Certain people cast spells differently. Think about what fits you and what feels right and try it out...You’re an amazing witch so I know you’ll figure this out” Riku said with a soft smile.

Namine blinked in surprise as Riku told her she was going about her magic the wrong way. She gave a little head tilt. “I am?” She listen hard to what he had to say on the matter. She looked down at the books and papers that littered the table. She did have other books on ways of spell casting that she hadn’t tried yet. “ Something that fits me, hmmm.” She slowly repeated his words so that they would take a fuller effect in her mind. Something about what he said struck a cord with her. She had heard something similar a while back when she as still a nobody. The little witch soon found herself looking back up at the Keyblade Master again in surprise, and she was blushing at his compliment. Unfortunately for her, her blushing was very hard for her to hide with her being fair skinned, Blonde hair, and cladded in white where the only other color on her that stood out was blue between her eyes and sandals. Reds and pink showed up a little to well on her. So there was no real point in trying to hide it and she knew it. After a moment of being flustered she recovered with a kind smile that reached her eyes. “Thank you.” “But the thing is,” Namine looked down at her hands. “ I really don’t know myself well enough to know what would work for me.” She looked back up at Riku. The statement was to true. She knew everyone else so well thanks to her unique abilities (that she even didn’t fully understand how they worked as well), but when it came to her….she knew nothing. It was a very strange thing to admit. ‘ Honestly, I don’t even know where or how to begin, but I know I want to try to so something to help, I owe everyone a least that much. I just figured I would start here.” “If you wish to be of use to other than you must act upon your strengths.” Namine spoke the words from her memory that sounded like what Riku was also suggesting. It was a memory from Deep Space when she was a nobody and mistaken for the daughter of visiting President of a company from a different world, who was kind enough to take up the little charade, “ That is what a friend said to me once, Very close to what you just said. Guess it must be true”She pulled her sketchbook out from underneath all of the books and papers. It was turned to a page with a drawing on it that looked like a star, but she quickly turned the page. She wasn’t ready for Riku to see it fully yet because it wasn’t finished, but she was working on something for him . “The only think that I can do that feels like me is draw, other then that….you probably know me better then I know me.” She smiled at him. “Maybe you could teach me a thing or two, Master Riku.” She giggled. Then, something like must have dawn on the young girl. “I am sorry. I got caught up in what I was trying to do, I almost forgot that you are probably here for a reason. If you are looking or Ansem and the others they are down in the Lab.” She began to straighten up her mess on the table. “How….” Namine paused to think of her next words. Not that she ever had to guard what she said around Riku, but it was a sensitive subject right now. She had learned to think about what she said and how she said it, whether it was a true statement or question, from her first meeting with Roxas, where she straight out told him that he was never suppose to exist. She wasn’t trying to be mean or anything but she thought he needed to know the truth in order to accept the outcome of his destiny. But looking back on it and knowing what she knows now….it was kind of a harsh way to present it. “How is the search going by the way? Any leads?” she finally settled on. Riku

It was a bit surprising to see Namine struggling with magic. Magic seemed like something that was quite natural to her and yet she was having difficulty. Perhaps maybe it was because she was too reliant on her powers that she wasn’t able to handle magic, but Riku felt it was something that she could master. She was just facing a roadblock, something that once they got rid of will allow her to utilize her craft much more easily.
He believed in her and he let her know that, but after his words all of a sudden the white clad girl began to turn a shade of red and it was upon seeing the blush that Riku realized what he said and his eyes widened a bit. He was caught off guard by the reaction and it made him think back to what he had just said. Did he say something wrong or embarrassing? Riku quickly looked to the side bashfully, scratching the side of his face as he looked down as his face formed a light blush as well. After an awkward silence, Riku looked over at the girl and noticed her looking back. A thanks was given to him and Riku just sighed and smiled calmly and composed, nodding in response.
Perhaps the biggest problem what Namine noted to him as Riku began to take a seat and listened to her words. She had trouble knowing who she was and it prevented her from taking his advice. She was eager to help. She wanted to pay back everybody for what they did and learning magic perhaps was the best way she could do it. The former nobody surely wasn’t the most physically strong, but if she was going on the battlefield she would need a weapon. That was another topic they could work on later on as for now they would just focus on getting her to be able to cast magic.
Riku listened to her speak on about having met somebody who spoke similarly to her about what he just said and he couldn’t help but smile. “I see you’ve gone on your own fair share of adventures. I’m glad” Riku said. Ever since she was formed the girl had been a prisoner and even after the Castle Oblivion incident she was stuck in the twilight town manor. To hear she was able to meet other and go on adventures was something nice to hear.
Riku was surprised the moment the girl noted that he perhaps knew her more than herself. It made him think about it for a bit and once he heard her call him by his title, he couldn’t help but close his eyes and chuckle. “Is that so? I guess we’ve been working with each other for a full year so I guess I’ve picked up my share of knowledge about you” Riku said as he opened his eyes and looked at her. “Learning about one’s true self is tough and everybody questions themselves at times...” Riku said as he looked down at his palm as he opened his hand. “...it took me a long time to figure out who I am...” Riku said before clenching his hand and looked back at Namine with a gentle smile. “You were the one who helped me figure out who I am...when I was lost in the light and scared of the darkness...you helped me thought it. Thank you Namine...” Riku said and smirked. “I guess it’s my turn to repay you back” Riku said.
Eventually Riku couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the girl as she suddenly brought up the fact that perhaps maybe he came to this castle to see Ansem. In response, Riku merely shook his head at the girl’s words. “hmmm no I wouldn’t say that. I’ve been able to get in contact with Ansem and the rest through gummiphone so we’ve been only exchanging any leads...” Riku said.
The moment that Namine asked about how the search for Sora was going all Riku could do was let out a very deep sigh as planted his head face down on the table before him, His arms on the desk around his head. “We’ve searched everywhere with no signs at all...” Riku said exasperated. “Nobody has any clue where he went, but at the very least Kairi has been able to remain strong...” Riku said raising his head and crossing his arms. “I stopped by Leon and the gang to see if they had any idea though they had no clue either. From there I just decided to come visit you and see how you were doing” Riku said.

“I guess I have gone on a few adventures.” Namine look a little bit confused. “Though, I'm not quite sure how they happened. It's complicated. I remember the adventures and I remember the people and places that I’ve been too and met, but I can't quite recall how are when they happened. I know they took place when I was a Nobody, but……” she paused for a moment thinking. The time frame of these adventures didn't seem to match up with her existence as a nobody. It seemed impossible to her that she could have gone on them when most of the time she was either imprisoned or a part of Kairi. “Maybe they were dreams. Maybe they happens when I was nonexistent. But I have a feeling that if I met those people today…..they remember me.” she looked over at Riku and shrugged. “strange huh?”Namine once again found herself blushing in light of Riku's words and thanks. She was delighted to know that he took her help back then to heart. “it was the least I could do. After all you, sora, and ЯRiku did rescued me from the organization even though you all barely knew me. And I plan on repaying you all for the kindness you've shown me.” namine tilted her to her head and smiled. Her goal was to do something special for each and every person who has helped her, and the people she has hurt in the past. “ I should be the one thanking you, and I will. I promise.” it was this very goal that had her practicing basic magic to begin with. Ansem and the others wanted to make sure that she could defend herself with or without the use of her memory abilities. Ever since the search for sora I had begun she wanted to join in, however, the others wanted to ensure that she would be safe on her own. “so, any advice or suggestions on how I can perform basic magic would be greatly appreciated.” namine clapped her hands together hopefully. “ it seems clear that one handed casting is definitely not the way to go for me.”
When Riku planted his head on the desk with a deep sigh, namine got up from her chair and walked over to his side. She bent down and put her arm carefully around his shoulders. Her free hand she placed comfortingly on one of his arms. Look up of pain, sadness and concern for the master graced her face. She knew they were all trying very hard to find their lost friend, but the toll that it has taken on both Riku and kairi was evident. She knew they were both trying very hard in both finding Sora and putting up a front cheerfulness. “We'll find him. I just know it.” Namine spoke in a gentle and quiet voice. “ knowing him, he is probably also looking for a way to come home. I wouldn't be surprised if honestly, he found us before we found him.” she gave the young man a reassuring smile. “he'll probably show up again when we all least expected or when we need him most. He'll just fallen out of nowhere, acting like no time has passed or unaware how much time has passed, with his goofy grin on his face. Hands behind his head asking how everyone has been doing.” she gave a small laugh at the thought of it. “make sure when you are reunited with him,” her smile got a little bit bigger as she tried to shed a little light on the situation. “you give him a punch in the arm for me; for making everyone worried about him so much.” “If anyone can come across him again. it is you and Kairi. You've got this.” she said reassuringly. “but a little break wouldn't hurt either. ”

What Namine had brought up was rather confusing to the keyblade wielder himself as he listened to Namine speak on about how her adventures happened while she was with Kairi. Riku had at least assumed that Namine had only recently gone on these adventures after her recompletion, but it was a bit confusing on how she did it. It sounded as if she was dreaming during these times, though the way she spoke of them made it seem otherwise. Whether or not it was a dream or not, it was nice to see the girl have some experience outside. “Yeah it is, though even though whether it is a dream or not, you hold memories of those times. Hold onto them and learn from them” Riku said with a smile. “Perhaps maybe we should go on an adventure or so together. It’ll really help you learn who you are” Riku said with a smile.
He sat back and listened to her speak on how she was grateful to how she was grateful to the people that helped her and he was quite glad to hear it. She wanted to repay them back, but for Riku there was no need to do that at all. If anything he needed to repay her. It made his determination to help her with her magic all the more stronger, though when the conversation changed to Sora that mood changed as well.
Riku had a habit of pushing himself too hard when it came to helping his friends. The year in which he fought the darkness and protected Sora was a difficult time for him. He was always pushing himself, making sure to hold back the darkness and most importantly, protecting Sora while fighting off the organization. His eyes spoke more than his mouth did and so he blindfolded his eyes to subdue the darkness, but not only that, but to hide his fatigued and weary eyes as well.
Those very eyes returned to Riku, those weary fatigued eyes, but this time he hid them without the use of a blindfold. He remained hopeful and cheerful, keeping optimistic, but he wasn’t really good at those sorts of things like Sora was. His head just remained face down as his arms covered any light being seen, but then he felt something touch him, a light soft touch. It was warm and comforting as he felt Namine hold him. His eyes opened up, though his hand moved and placed itself on top of the hand that rested upon his arm.
“Yeah…” Riku said softly as he rose his head and smiled as he looked down at the desk reminiscing about his time with Sora and Kairi. “You’re right, knowing that idiot he’ll act as if nothing happened” Riku said and chuckled as he listened to Namine’s request. “noted” Riku said as he looked over at her and gave her a smile. “Sora has been adamant about thanking you for everything at Castle Oblivion. I’m sure the first thing he does when he sees you is just that” Riku said as he gave her a soft smile. “Thank you Namine…I guess…maybe I’ve been pushing myself a bit too much” Riku said keeping his hand ontop of hers. Namine was right, he needed rest, something to cool his mind and perhaps that was why he came here.

Namine's face lit up when Riku mentioned going on an adventure together. “go on an adventure with you?! That would be wonderful!" Her hands came together as her face seemed to light up even more at the very thought of it. Her mind seemed to slip off slightly into a daydream. As she imagined where they would go. “ Perhaps we could go one of the world’s where our appearance would change physically.” She said in the midst of her daydream. of course she could already change her appearance temporarily on her own, but this would be a new experience since she would still be herself. She would also daydream about what they would do, and who they would even meet. And on top of all that, she would be doing it with one of the people she admire the most. It was all very exciting to her. “ Thank me for Castle Oblivion?” Her face slightly fell. “There really isn't any reason to thank me. Her right hand went to her upper left arm. She grabbed a tightly for a moment and then rubbed it absent-mindedly. I'm the one who did the most damage to him then. He doesn't need to thank me. I had and wanted to set things right. But, he has mentioned often. Including when we met briefly where the sky and the ocean meet before he…..” namine couldn't really bring herself to say “before he disappeared”. It just felt easier to delude herself into thinking that he just simply went on another one of his adventures, and just perhaps got lost. it would be like him. If she had just managed to find out what he was doing or even just stopped him when they met when she was looking for Terra's most powerful thoughts during his fight as lingering will. Maybe he would still be with them. “he said he had this…..”
Namine shook her head mentally, then placed a smile back on her face . “that's right.” her determined voice and energy return to her. “you have been pushing yourself a bit too much. Just like back then. But now isn't time to feel sorry for ourselves. Sora would never accept this, and be cross with us. just pull a silly face, make yourself laugh, and keep moving forward.” her smile became more real with every word. “Now, you came here for a break, right? So how can I be of assistance?”

Namine’s face grew bright and cheerful upon his suggestion. His words at that moment were merely meant to help her find who she was, but thinking about it more he realized how nice it would be to travel around with Namine. Riku spent most of his travels alone and the rest of his time was with Mickey. Mickey always held his back and he trusted him, but he was a king and a king had lots of responsibilities. It wasn’t like he could ask him to travel with him casually. Sora was gone and Kairi needed to travel alone for a bit as well. It left him alone, but now perhaps he had a person who could travel with him.
Riku smiled as he listened to Namine speak about travelling to another world that would physically change them. “Sora has been to a lot of those kinds of worlds and I’m sure there are much more of them out there. I’d be glad to take you to one” Riku said. He wanted to take her to those worlds and he wanted to take her all sorts of places. She had been locked up for so long and he wanted to see all there was.
Guilt was something that was hard to get rid of. It was something that he knew all too well. The two of them did things they weren’t really proud of but they were trying to move on from that. The topic of Castle Oblivion seemed to bring the mood down. It was this moment that he was seeing how it wasn’t just him and Kairi that were greatly affected by Sora’s disappearance. In the end, Namine’s sudden burst of energy caught Riku off guard, but made the silver haired male smile once more.
Leaning back against his chair, Riku crossed his arms and couldn’t help but smirk a bit. “A silly face huh? I’ve never really been good at those. Sora would have to physically pull at my face to try and do that” Riku said pulling at his cheek as he smiled before sighing with a soft smile. “keep moving forward...thats right...we have done things we aren’t proud of, but what’s important is that we keep moving forward and make up for the troubles we caused...” Riku said as he smiled a confident smile “so lets pay them back together” Riku said.
It was true that Riku came here for a break, but he already seemed to be enjoying his time off already. “You don’t have to worry about me Namine, I’m fine as it is. We were talking about your magic before weren’t we? I’m sure if we...thats it!” Riku said as his eyes suddenly widened. Jumping to his feet, the male looked over at Namine and then the frozen pillar. “You’re an amazing artist Namine, so why don’t we try and use that?” Riku said as he looked back at Namine. “Magic is about using your mind, visualizing the spell before you and releasing it. Use your imagination and maybe it’ll help you release a spell” Riku said as he took a nearby pencil and held it out for her. “This will be your wand...it’s worth a shot” Riku said with a smile

Namine giggled at the sight of Riku pulling his own cheeks like Sora once did. She had the urge to reach over to him and pull at his cheek as well but thought better of it. Instead she brought her hand up to her on check and gave them a little pull, stink the tip of her tongue through her teeth, and winking her right eye; all the while giggling away. She nodded with the smile still on her face at the mention of paying everyone back that they may have caused pain. “Right!” The energy had been lifted in the room. Gone was the sad, regretful vibes, and low energy. It was replaced with giggles, smiles, determination, and Promises of adventures yet to come. Even the ice sculpture that was made from Elsa’s borrowed powered seemed to be thawing a bit from the warmth of the energy coming from the two people not to far away from it. The Memory Witch gave a small jump backwards and placed her hand over her heart at Riku’s sudden burst of excitement. Her eyes just as wide as his but for a different reason. A pink tint came on her checks at the comment about her art skills and she tilted her head when he mentioned that they could use that. She has complete forgotten her attempted at magic without borrowed power. And she was still being a little slow on the draw even now. She blinked slowly at the young Master and stated at him. Everything flooded back to Namine at the mention of Magic of course. “Use my art skills?” She repeated slowly. It sort of made sense in theory. Artists created something out of nothing and that is how those who casted magic often worked. Sure, they might have things to channel their power but all and all; fire was sent blasting forward and chancing down the target, Lighting rained upon the battlefield in aid of its caster, Winds rallied around friend or foe to either lift or hinder them. All these things acted out of the ordinary as someone called upon it. She reached out for the pencil he presented her. She hasted for just moment when her hand got close enough to grab a hold of the pencil. “A wand, huh?” She wrapped her fingers the wooden drawing utensil and she pulled it easily from Riku’s hold. Namine stood there holding the pencil and looking down at it. She was still unsure of what to do or how to make this work. She thought about what Riku said about Visualizing the spell and releasing it. Also, what the books she had read said about feeling the spell. Somehow, she was to take both of those instructions and use her imagination and what is left to her to put them together. And, with luck, managed to pull off a spell. How was she to pull them together. Namine thought for a few moments while liking hard at her pencil. Her sketchbook caught her eye as it was the only book on the table now. She pulled it towards and stated to do what Riku said she was good at, Draw. Once again thinking of the easier spell that normally all beginners start out with, Fire. Of course, Axel…..Lea….Axel came to her mind. She thought of how graceful he was when he used his fire. The flames and heat danced around him even when he attacked with it. He worked with a design. As she thought of his movements her hand skated a cross the page just as graceful as he worked with his fire. By the time she had finished, it felt like hours to her but in reality, it was only a few seconds, she had a drawing of a flame among designs that twisted and turned with in and around it. Surrounding this image was a circle. She hadn’t noticed at the time, but her pencil turned red and causing the image to be drown in red. This wasn’t new to her. Her pencil often changed colors to what she needed it to be for her drawing. That wasn’t surprising. However, what was, was the fact that has she picked up her hand from the drawling of the circle she could feel heat from the page and the circle stated to glow. She placed her hand over the drawling again just to make sure she wasn’t imaging it. “It Its hot!” She looked up at Riku. “Feel!” She removed her hand from above the drawing so that Riku may put his and over it if he wished to. As soon as she did the page started to smoke lightly. This seemed to raise the little replicated Nobody’s spirits even more. Namine took her place in front of the Ice pillar that still held the candle inside it. She held her colored pencil out in front of her, pointing its tip at the ice statue. Her face screwed up in concentration. She once again imagined the dance grace of the flames. She visualized a flame bursting forth and engulfing the ice to melt it. She did as the book said as well and felt around her for the element she was trying to cast. Her arm began to rotate in a large circle as it made the pencil draw in the air. She felt the warmth on her skin from the lights above and sunlight that surrounded her. As the circle was being drawn out, lines actually appeared in the air before Namine. They weaved and twisted with each other coming from the outer edges of the circle and moved inward. They formed the same patterns that she had drawn on the page. She felt the warmth of the person that was only standing feet away from her and remembered how it made her feel as they laughed together. The magic circle started to glow red before her in the air. She remembered the feeling of the sun on her skin when she was on Destiny Island with all the others. Standing there in the ocean waves with Xion next to her showing her seashells and everyone else chasing and having fun with each other in the background. That one moment when everything was prefect. Namine took a deep breath and focused her sights on her target. However, something strange happened. She all of the sudden felt cold. The room began to dim, and she felt eyes were watching her. The shape of the eyes was similar to the young Master who stood there with her, but they weren’t his eyes she felt. They weren’t the color of the sea. Instead, they were Gold and cold. Her magic circle red glow dissipated, and a purple glow took it place in the matter of seconds. Before Namine could react, before she could dispel her magic, the now purple magic circle bust sending Black and purples flames at her target. The ice shattered with such force that it sent shards of crystals flying everywhere. Some of the books got blown off their shelves again and pages scattered. Namine ducked down and attempted to pull Riku down with her to save him from the debris and the blast. She covered her head with arms until it was over. Once everything settled, she uncovered her head and looked shell shocked for a moment. “That….That wasn’t the Fire spell.” She gapped wide eye at the ice littering the floor, some of it still had dark flames dancing on it. She was clearly shaken at what just happened. “How did? Why did? Dark Firaga?” Was all she managed to get out. She looked over at Riku for some kind of answer. On the Brightside, Namine finally casted a spell as herself even if it wasn’t the one she was expecting. On the other hand, if uncontrolled surprise like that kept happening, there wasn’t going to be anything left of the Radiant Garden Castle’s Library. “Maybe we should take this outside?” She gave a nervous laugh and got up off the floor dusting herself off. “Sorry. I don’t know how I managed that. I’ll understand if you want to call it quits though.” Learn:Gives Naminé the ability to be taught magic and summons. It was a nice feeling, a feeling that would allow him to ease away the stress he was going though. It was only a momentary thing, but it was still something that was appreciated and perhaps wished would remain much longer. It was good to see Namine being able to be herself, to be more open and to be able to joke around with him. It wasn’t like those days they spent together in the mansion working on restoring Sora but instead a more free moment. The two would make their forced smile and then devolve into laughter, a truly fun time.
The idea he had was worth a shot, something that he had a bit of faith in. Magic was expression and nobody was able to able to express themselves as well as Namine did. Of course she wouldn’t really see what he meant, but it was worth a shot and perhaps even an attempt would get her to understand and even succeed. With the pencil in hand he held it out and released it once the girl took the wooden tool from his hand. It was the moment of truth, he only hoped that his theory was correct. Namine was amazing a magic, she just needed to figure out a way to use it properly.
Crossing his arms, Riku merely watched the girl proceed to ponder what to do. He wasn’t going to rush things and he merely stood there watching patiently, albeit quite curious as well. It was only a moment, but the girl began to draw. Riku began to watch the artist begin her work, the silver haired master peeking over her shoulder as the blond haired former nobody began drawing her flames upon the paper before her. It was a peculiar thing, but he knew he had given her a normal pencil, so why was it releasing the color of red?
The moment of truth had finally come and then there was a moment of success. Upon Namine’s request, Riku placed a hand over the drawing and then he felt it as well. The sudden strange heat that was not supposed to be felt from any normal piece of paper, he felt that heat and he could tell that his theory was something that was most likely a success. Riku’s eyes couldn’t help but widen a bit at the sensation, quite happy that they found some success and it could be seen as Riku looked up at the blonde haired girl with a smile. “it works! now lets really put it to the test” Riku said as he glanced over at the ice pillar with the girl.
The air turned tense as Riku crossed his arms and watched the girl prepare to cast a spell at the pillar of ice. He knew it was far too early to celebrate. Riku could only watch on in anticipation, his eyes fixed as a red circle formed before her. His hand gripped his arm, hoping for the best, though things fell apart as the circle turned purple. His eyes could only widen as the spell of darkness was released.
Unfolding his arms, Riku watched as the spell was released, and a burst of debris flew all about. Namine was quick to respond and Riku felt the tug at his arm pulling him down, though Riku immediately crouched beside her, pulling her into his arms and crouching over her in a protective state. The moment the commotion finished he slowly raised up and pulled away, looking at the result of her spell with narrowed eyes. “Yeah...” was all Riku could say as he absentmindedly held the girl’s shoulders before glancing down at her. Noticing she was alright, the keyblade master released her and rose to his feet, brushing himself off as well as he looked down at her.
“I guess we’ve made enough of a mess as it is here...” Riku said with a smile rubbing the back of his neck as he looked over at the exit and then back at her. “Meet me outside, I’m just going to run off for a second...” Riku said as he ran off, leaving the girl alone for a bit. It didn’t take him long, but eventually the boy would reunite with the girl outside, carrying two sea salt ice creams in his hand. “here...” Riku said with a soft smile as he handed her one of these. “Grabbing these brings back memories of DiZ...or rather Ansem the wise always sending me on errands trying to some” Riku said as he took a bite. It wasn’t a pleasant time as Sora was resting and being sought after, but at the same time there were times he was with Namine, bringing the girl whatever she needed and perhaps more while she worked on Sora’s memories. With Mickey off investigating, Namine perhaps was the only friend he had during that long year that he could even spend time with, even if there were things they disagreed on.

Namine’s drawings weren’t normal, and neither were her pencils. Anytime she handled other paper and pencils that should be normal…. ended up turning into something that was uniquely her own. Her pencils, crayons, and other drawing utensils would change at a mere thought of hers. Her drawings helped her hone the memories of others and well as help them take apart or put them back together. When she looked at her drawings it helped organizes the thoughts behind them. It was her own power that could deal with memories, but her drawings helped, like catalyst for her magic, like…well, like a wand. That is why when Riku handed her the seemingly ordinary pencil, she just thought of red and heat as she drew. Sure enough, the paper started admitting heat. When Riku said it was time to put it to the test Namine had another idea. Her drawings were special, that much was true, but could her pencil also concentrate her magic? It was one of the ideas she had after trying to draw flames; Brandish it like a wand and think of her drawing of flames but in the air instead of on paper this time. It appears she was right about the pencil in her control…even if it did go wrong. Why darkness? She had so many questions on how that was even possible being born from a princess who didn’t have a dark bone in her body? Sure, Namine could control the Corridors of Darkness still, perhaps better than anyone else ever had. Namine tried to cover up her fear of what just happened. She didn’t want Riku to think she was evil or bad. He was the last person she wanted to make mad at her. In fact, she didn’t want him to be mad at her at all. She was scared to lose him. So, she talked fast, put on a fake smile, and tried to give him an out if he didn’t want to be there anymore and help her. However, to her surprise, he didn’t take it. She could have been misreading it, but Riku didn’t seem mad at all. Confused, maybe, but not mad. He smiled at her, and Namine faltered and blushed. They were to meet outside. Namine looked curiously after him as he left. After he had left, the young girl looked around at the destruction. “Oh dear.” Namine said faintly. “He is right. That is enough for this poor library today. Probably should borrow someone else’s magic again.”
With that thought, the pages in her sketchbook flipped to another figure who wore all blue, but she was much, much older than Elsa. Namine’s clothes grew longer, bluer and wrapped around her only leaving her older face and hands bare. She was only a bit taller than she used to be and far plumper. The pencil that was still in her hand had turned into a real wand that was white. “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!” The now Fairy Godmother waves her wand and with each word; shelves stood back up; books flew back on shelves. Tables and chairs stood up right. Ripped pages returned to their books. Ice chucks vanished in thin air, and the candle was put back together and set upon the table. By the time the last bit of debris had set itself straight, Namine was Namine again. She looked at her work then ran out the library to meet with Riku, and she was as giddy as an elementary school girl. Namine heard his voice behind her once she got outside before she saw him. She turned around and looked at what he was offering her. “Oh wow! I-I never had one before.” She took the treat from Riku with a thanks. It was true Diz had her help with the computer system that Roxas’s conscience in. Her drawings and views on the world were upload so a nobody could grasp and understand them. She had to create Sea Salt Ice Cream without ever having tasted it. But it always sounded so good. She still blushed at the sight of Riku. Which she really didn’t understand. They had been around each other plenty of times before. She took a bit of the cold treat. “Mmmm! Sweet and Salty just like everyone said.” She gave a bright smile. “Two flavors that are opposites and good on their own, but even better together.” She really enjoyed it. Namine knew she couldn’t keep from talking about the elephant in the room, even if the two of them were outside now. “So Dark Firaga? Why do you think that happened. I wasn’t trying to, Honest. I was just trying to do Fire, but………” She looked down at her now slightly melting ice cream “Why can’t things go smoothly for me, just once?” She said sadly. Anyone who knew her knew she never really had it easy. She was a mystery, even to herself. Mind Manipulating:

While Riku went to buy the sea salt ice cream bars his mind couldn’t help but just think of their little practice in the caste. He couldn’t say it wasn’t a complete failure, but he couldn’t say it was a success either. What Namine did wasn’t what one could consider normal…well…normal for them at least. What was supposed to be a simple fire spell ended up as a dark Firaga. It didn’t make sense why that spell came out. Was she upset? Angry or full of sorrow? She didn’t seem like it and if anything, it seemed as though she was excited right before they even attempted to cast the spell. Was it the means of how they casted it? Perhaps but that didn’t make sense either.
He was deep in thought, but by the time he returned and noticed Namine outside waiting for him he couldn’t help but smile as he handed her the ice and watched as she was quite excited about her first time having it. He could see why DiZ always sent him off for these as they were a very unique and perfect match of salty and sweet that was quite the amazing flavor.
It was weird in a way that he had this treat before, but never really took the time to appreciate it. Back then all he really did taste was more so the saltiness of the ice cream bar, a mere time he merely tried it out of curiosity. It wasn’t a time he really spent where he could enjoy himself as he was constantly fighting off heartless. Nobodies, and his own darkness while trying to divert the attention of the Organization. Having this ice cream with someone he cared about casually was something that allowed him to enjoy this treat, but even so he still had his own stress that weighed on his mind.
Riku couldn’t help but look forward absentmindedly at the distance, thoughts running through his mind all the while. Namine was Kairi’s nobody, the nobody of a princess of light, so why was it that she was releasing darkness? Just what exactly was the reason? There was complete silence that broke between the two and almost left an air of awkwardness between the two. Riku had his ice cream bar in his mouth, biting on the stick absent mindedly, but when Namine broke the silence, his eyes widened a bit and glanced over at the girl.
The thoughts must have been weighing on her mind as well, how could it not after all. Lowering his bar, he faced her and crossed his arms as he closed his eye. “I believe you didn’t intend on doing that, but as for why…I’m not sure” Riku said as let out a sigh. Even so his eyes opened once more and looked down at the shorter girl and placed a hand on his hip. “You’re only just starting out so of course things won’t go smoothly. I’m sure you are well aware that my beginnings haven’t been the smoothest out there” Riku said. Perhaps that was quite the understatement thinking back on it after all the trouble he caused, but even so he worked towards rectifying it. “Its going to take some trial and error but we’ll get there” Riku said.

Riku didn’t seem to have an answer to why her spell wasn’t what she hoped for either. She was happy that she was able to cast in any fashion other than turning into someone else to do so, but why did it have to be a dark spell for her first try. Weren’t the Corridors enough darkness for her small body to handle. …her body. Namine looked at her hands. “Maybe…maybe something went wrong.” She looked up at Riku. “This body was once a shell, but before that it had two dark beings inside it. Maybe it is an extension of them. After all, hearts never really die, maybe a part of Replica Riku and Dark Riku are still with me.” She shook her head. “Is that even possible? Maybe I am just looking for answers where there are none.” She concluded. It was nice to see Riku hadn’t given up on her and offered kind and encouraging words. He was right after all. Riku had it hard, but he was so cool about it that it wasn’t obvious to the people who met him. And Sora...when Sora started out, he just flailed around hoping to hit something. She giggled at the mere thought of it. Namine smiled up at Riku when he said “WE’LL get there” . It meant that he was in this to stay and would be by her side while she tried to figure this out. Even if he couldn’t be there personally, he was still someone that she could seek out for help. He was a master after all, and it felt like she just became his pupil. This made her happy and more determined. She thought that if she was to do the spell now, she would succeed. “You know, I read a book recently of a world call the Boiling Isles. In the records, a girl ends up in a world of witches and demons where she becomes close with a few of them while she searched for a way back to her world.” Namine said. “Anyway, she figured out how to do magic like the rest of them even though she wasn’t one of them. It was like what I did with the paper. She could see Symbols corresponding with an element in that world that no one else could see. She would draw these symbols on paper or anything she could draw on and they would produce that element. Eventually she taught her witch and demon friends how to do it and when they came across a time when they couldn’t use their traditional way of using magic, they would use her’s, and it always worked.” Namine finished with her summary of the story and ate more of her ice cream in silence. “I wonder if that place is a real world if it is just a story in the library.” Namine wondered more out loud then actually talking to Riku. She turned to Riku again. “Should we try again?” Namine pulled her pencil out of thin air. “Or would you rather talk some more?” She wanted to try some more, but she also kind of wondered what Riku was doing here. So, she left it to him to decide the next move. This was nice. Just him and her. Riku
