The rain had subsided over the town of Edge, the clouds in the sky thinning and allowing rays of sunlight to shine through. The atmosphere was calm, if a bit chilly. There was one vital reason for Vincent's coming here. And as he walked the streets, soon enough all he had planned would come together - Fate willing. He opened his phone and dialed a familiar number - The 7th Heaven, or at least the one now residing in Edge. It was very likely one of the others would be there to answer the phone, and if not - They soon would be. Still, as he listened to the sound of the phone buzzing in his ear, it was soon changed to that of a pre-recording of Tifa's voice, mentioning that she was away, but to leave a message all the same. After a moment of thought, he responded to the recording, leaving a message of great importance - And yet, one that was as cryptic as ever:
"... Cloud, it's Vincent. It's time we talked. I think I've found an answer to everything."
He hung up, storing the phone away. With a message of arrival sent, he assumed it would be fine enough to make his way there, it wasn't unannounced after all. He walked towards the 7th Heaven with purpose behind his step, each one causing the water puddles under his feet to ripple and splash. His...Strange attire certainly caught the attention of citizens who passed him on the way, but he was used to it by this point. At the very least, none of them seemed to be afraid of him, though he couldn't be sure if that was because they recognized him - Or because by this point the people of the Planet were used to seeing what a real threat looked like.
Some time passed, but he found his way onto the roof of the building across the street from the 7th Heaven. Taking into account the fact that the lack of an answer to his phone call likely meant that no one was there at the moment, he stood on the roof and watched from across the way, waiting for someone to arrive there. ... Certainly might have seemed creepy to some, though for him his only focus was on relaying the information he had discovered, something that could help Cloud, Shelke, even himself. There was no time to worry about "Looking socially normal". And if someone were there, it would be easy to spot him as the rays of sunlight from above illuminated him clearly, torn crimson cloak and all.
He hoped that soon enough someone would arrive, if nothing else even someone who could relay his message to the others he had fought alongside. Though he had no concrete cure as of yet, if his information was right, it was something that could free them of Hojo's horrible experiments - Something to undo the curse placed upon them, and it couldn't come a moment too soon. Even now Vincent could feel the beast inside of him trying to fight for control. He had come too far at this point to simply be consumed by that which he has fought for decades now. And so with those thoughts in his mind, he continued to watch the 7th Heaven, quietly.

[attr="class","parm"] [attr="class","parmimg"]
[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] It seemed the gods had a strange plan for the man. A plan he still didn't understand. He still had not returned to his home through those rifts, but was somewhere else again. This star seemed similar to his own, at least when it came to technology. No, it wasn't just that. He had listened to some people talking on the street and to his surprise, the commander had found them talking about things that were strangely similar to things connected to Eos. Behemoths, Monsters... a meteor. All of it was mentioned somewhere or even written down on papers plastered to some walls. Old memorial day posters for the destruction of a whole city, also mentioning a meteor and a company called Shinra. Why did all of this sound like.. it was somehow connected to his home? Maybe this star really did share some strange bond to his home, or maybe it was something else? Maybe the gods have let him to this world with a specific purpose in mind? But what could it be...? So many questions, yet the answer was far away, maybe even unreachable for the oracle's brother. He was slightly soaked from the rain he had walked through, his two-colored eyes scanning the area he was in right now. He had heard of a Inn a well known man was said to reside. Cloud Strife was his name and he was known to be a great hero, able to slay every beast and the savior of this star. He had stopped a whole meteor with his comrades, or so it was said. Interesting.. maybe this man could help him on his quest somehow? To be honest, it wasn't the stories of his victories: It was the rumor of him having been able to cure a terrible sickness, that had befallen the people. Maybe this man.. could help him to get rid of his own curse?
He stopped in front of the Inn those people had told him to visit, the commander reading the sign on top of the building. 7th Heaven. Yes, this was the place. Ravus sighed slightly, touching the door handle, when he experienced this strange feeling of being watched... Frowning, he turned his head, his eyes scanning the area once more, before he caught a bright red on the roof of a nearby building. His expression turned wary, eyes now focused on the stranger. It was obvious he as watching the Inn from up there. He didn't proceed on opening the door, staring at the man on the roof instead, waiting patiently what he would do now. His right hand slowly moved down to his sword, ready to draw it should the man try to attack him.

Elfé found herself entering a new city, one that had been constructed in recent times, from her understanding. "Edge", it was called. Some aspects of it were obviously familiar with Midgar, though it was definitely still it's own thing. Evidenced by the fact that that the former leader of AVALANCHE didn't know her way around the streets. Still, she was able to chat briefly with a few passer-bys on the street and collect some information. Namely, on where she could find the new AVALANCHE, or at least the group that used to function like it. Most people didn't know. But eventually she hit the jackpot. Someone directed her to a place called "7th Heaven". Giving a light tug to the white cloak she was wearing in order to adjust the hood, she continues on her way to this reputed locale...
From what she could tell, no one would really be out looking for her after the fall of Shinra, but perhaps it was because of habit and her own disbelief... She still chose to keep her identity secret. There might be people that were unhappy with the actions of the old AVALANCHE. It's not like their group had a squeaky clean record, after all. Elfé didn't regret fighting for the Planet, though. Ultimately it seemed as though their efforts led to others standing up and resisting. But it's not like any of them realized the true stakes of the situation either... Her meeting with Genesis ended up being quite the fruitful encounter, as now she wasn't operating entirely blind in the world around her. That being said, she was still alone. Genesis was strong and quite capable, but even he couldn't be everywhere at once.
Until she could find a Summon Materia... Elfé needed to find some companions she could rely on and work with. Having them after the fact would be nice to, but she wasn't foolish enough to think she could handle all of this by herself either. Her thoughts were finally interrupted as she realized that she found the right place; though someone had beaten her to the punch, as they were standing at the door about to open it... Until they suddenly stopped, and turned to examine their surroundings. Elfé backs off a little, making sure that he couldn't get a look at her face. Eventually, she notices the direction he's looking, and decides to scope it out for herself... That's about when she notices the other man up on the roof, garbed in a red cape.
This was quite an awkward stand off, to put it lightly. Elfé arches a brow, and watches the two closely. Surely they weren't actually thinking of fighting in the middle of the city, right? But the one on ground level was reaching for his sword... Furrowing her brows, she decides to get ready to stop the fight, or at least direct people out of the area and to a safer location. This could get real dangerous, real fast. Neither of them looked like pushovers. Idly, she wondered if she could really handle a fight against two people like this. She takes a brief moment to look over her Materia, and assure that her equipment is properly secured.
This could happen very fast, and all of the critical moments that could happen in the ensuing seconds could rapidly change how it turned out... For now, she wouldn't jump into the situation; though she held no illusions that the man on the roof wasn't aware of her presence. A pure white cloak was easy enough to spot in a place like this. For that matter, the man on ground level probably wouldn't have too hard of a time picking her out either. Still, she tried to play it off like she wasn't aware of the two -- For now.
She would lie in wait, and see how this plays out...------ Vincent Valentine , Ravus Nox Fleuret

Though he had hoped to keep this whole exchange entirely between himself and his former allies, it seems several people had arrived to this place. Still...Perhaps if he waited it out, they'd leave. Better, they could reveal whether anyone was home or not. Something he wasn't really able to ascertain himself. But he hadn't taken into account just how much he stood out - Or rather, he didn't really care about making himself invisible. A man that had reached for the door immediately turned to stare him down, reaching for a weapon. To make matters worse, now he was getting citizens caught up in this mess, with a hooded girl clearly panicking over the situation. He gave a long sigh, staring down at Ravus."I would recommend letting go of the weapon. I don't intend to fight, and I don't think this is the best place for it."He spoke coldly, it seemed as if he was being hostile at first take, but... If one paid attention, they'd probably notice it wasn't particularly intended to evoke any emotion at all from Ravus. He stood up, a single arm whipping out sideways and causing his red cape to flow for a moment, he then leapt off of the roof, backflipping and landing on his feet. He approached both Ravus and Elfe calmly, not reaching for any weapon, or even giving off the vibe that he was preparing to attack."I don't suppose you've seen anyone working the bar, have you? I'm looking for someone important. It's...Something life-changing."He glanced over at Elfe for a moment, curious on why she was wearing an outfit like that, something that stood out almost as much as he did. Another aspiring hero - Someone trying to be like his allies perhaps? He learned not to question stuff like that, but sometimes he couldn't help but be curious.--- Elfé Ravus Nox Fleuret

Having somehow managed to get home again, Marlene had gone to 7th Heaven and stayed there, hoping her family would make their way home, too; but they had not. Nobody had come back yet, and Marlene had been here for at least 4 days. She was uncertain about going out as she didn't want to end up somewhere else. She had slept a lot, tired from her travels and lonely. She hoped someone would come by, soon.
She had been cleaning the bar counters as per the usual routine, trying to keep things as normal as possible, and ready in case people finally came back. It was as she finished that she heard voices outside, and went to peek out one of the windows to see who might be out there. She saw three people, two of whom were strangers, and the third was super familiar and she was so excited that she raced to the door and ran outside, heading straight for the familiar person. One could almost hear her from outside as she ran through the building and through the door.
MIIIISTERRRRR VIIIIIIIINCEEEEEEEENT!!!!!"
Her enthusiasm would propel her into Vincent, so intense was the young girl's relief and happiness at seeing someone she knew after what felt like weeks alone. Words spouted like a fountain from her as she hugged him.
"It is you!! I'm so glad to see you, Mister Vincent! Have you seen anyone else?? Is Cloud or Tifa with you? Denzel? Anyone? I don't know where they are and I can't call them!

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Seeing someone almost completely in red jump down from the roof, the man was taken a back slightly, but the other mans words had reached him, Ravus still on guard when the man landed on the ground like the jump was nothing that usually would break someones feet by impact on the solid pathway. His attention also shifted to the young woman that was nearby, seeing that she was watching all this unfold. Was she with him? He slowly let go of his sword, his hand moving away from it a bit. The question about the bar made him raise an eyebrow. This man was also looking for someone in that bar? Had he heard of the man as well? His attention shifted between the two strangers, Ravus stepping away from the door a bit before he fully shifted his attention on the man with the black hair again. “I was about to enter and search for someone myself. If you are here for the blond man as well, than we are looking for the same person. That girl as well?” He shot Elfé a short glance, glaring at her. “Is she with you? If not-”A loud noise interrupted him however, the door he had just stepped away from being thrown open as a young girl jumped outside and right into the other man's arms. The commander blinked, taking in all the information he was getting from this whole scene. So this man knew the owners of this building most likely. He also found out that the man he was searching for was not in the bar at the moment, since the girl asked the stranger for him. Ravus sighed in response to this, shaking his head a little. “So.... he is not here. Not what I had hoped to hear.”

Although Elfé was trying to be inconspicuous at the moment, it seemed that both the man on the roof and the one at the bar had both noticed her. She moves her hands away from the sword sheathed at her side, last thing she needed to do right now was give any further implication that she was about to step in and fight. Especially as Vincent seemed to diffuse any notion of combat by saying he wasn't here for a fight. Cautiously, the girl in the white hood would turn and step over to hold a more normal conversation with the two men. Although as she did, a new element entered the field; a young girl that ran right over to the man in the red cape.
Given how she reacted to him, she regarded him as a friend... And her presence meant that Elfé wouldn't feel so on guard about a fight breaking out. At least not between herself and the black haired man. The verdict was still out on the one that cast a glare at her and seemed to have nothing nice to say. She would only clear her throat, as if to draw attention to the fact that a child was present now.
"I'm not here for a fight, if that's your concern. You two were having an intense staredown in the middle of the city... So I was standing by to make sure that it didn't turn into a battle. That's the last thing these people need right now.", she wasted little time in getting straight to the point. Although she didn't remove her hood, so they could be rightfully suspicious of her on that front... At the very least, the fact that her posture changed when Marlene entered the fray should lend some credence to the idea that she wasn't trying to start something.
So it seems that everyone had come here searching for the same person, though... Or the same group, perhaps? Elfé would think that over for a moment. "... You were looking for AVALANCHE?", the swordswoman asks, a little curious of their intentions. She couldn't tell if either of them worked for Shinra. Well, if Marlene could so readily trust Vincent, then maybe not him... But Ravus did seem like he might fit in with them. Still, best not to make an assumption yet.
And a question like this meant that she didn't reveal her entire hand either. Though with what the black-haired man had to say, she would carefully consider a response for the moment. "Something life-changing? That sounds pretty serious... If you need help, I wouldn't mind lending a hand."
She would extend the offer, in any case. Now it was just a matter of seeing how things proceed._______ Vincent Valentine Ravus Nox Fleuret Marlene Wallace

He watched as Ravus put away his sword, silently relieved that a fight wouldn't need to occur. If it happened in a populated area like this... It would be difficult to keep citizens safe while fighting back. He knew from the way Ravus carried himself that he was no simple soldier, unlike the Deepground troops and their invasions on the planet's towns, this man would never be as simple to keep under control. Of course, before Vincent could say anything else, he heard shouting from inside the bar, and the sound of footsteps quickly drawing closer. He was about to go on the defensive... ... Until he heard Marlene call out to him, he reached out and carefully placed a single arm around Marlene's shoulder, his expression unchanging... Although it was clear he was glad to see her all the same. His expression shifted however upon her asking if Cloud and the others were with him. He could only shake his head in response. So that explains why I couldn't reach him... Marlene. You had better stay close until we can find them. I'm certain they're not far."He held open his cape, offering a place for her to stand where he could keep her out of harm's way if he had to. Though he knew these two weren't going to fight now, he wasn't going to take chances now that it wouldn't JUST be him on the line."How long have you been trying to reach them?"He asked Marlene as he looked down to her. Of course, he had to address those watching as well, as... They were likely confused. He looked up at Ravus, nodding."You're looking for Cloud as well then..."Upon him asking if Elfe was with him, he would glance over at her."The one in the white cloak? No. I've never seen this person."He went silent for a moment, seemingly lost in thought for several seconds before finally breaking his silence in response to Ravus once more."It's...Concerning. For him to be gone long enough to worry Marlene must mean he's been absent for some time. ... I can think of a few reasons, and none of them are the kind of thing we're prepared to handle. For now we have to assume he's been called out for something important."Upon hearing the strange girl in white clear her throat, he would glance over at her, listening to her words before closing his eyes in reflection."... sorry."Was his only response to her for now. Although he raised an eyebrow at her next words...She uttered a name he was shocked to hear someone so mysterious say."Avalanche... That's a name I haven't heard in some time. You must be looking for Cloud too, then..."He looked down to Marlene, a small smile forming on his face, something... n expression neither of the other two present could have imagined a person like him making."Do you mind if we all step inside? I think we need to figure out what we all know about this. Maybe between the four of us we can get a clue on where to start..."A friend to Marlene, Cloud, and Tifa he may be, but he still felt it appropriate to check with the girl first before simply entering. After all, if something was going on, then perhaps it might not have been appropriate. He would look back over to Elfe, giving a nod."We'll see... If you've got answers, then maybe you can help after all."He left his words vague for now, he still didn't entirely trust this woman in white. Nor did he have full trust in the man present either... He wasn't going to show any outward hostility, but he had to be sure there was no ill intent from either before he could just give away all he knew. Even now he was taking a risk by presenting any information regarding Cloud. If they were involved with Sephiroth in any way, this could turn bad quickly. But...It was a risk he had to take. If they knew anything at all about Cloud, then they would have something to go off of.--- Ravus Nox Fleuret Elfé Marlene Wallace

She hugged Vincent, relieved that at least one person she knew was still around. She didn't like being alone, not really, especially when she didn't know where her family and friends were or if something had happened to them she hoped not, that was an awful thought to think, and she knew she had to keep a positive mature attitude but just at the moment she was overwhelmed by emotions. She ducked into Vincent's cape, grateful for his protection, trying to hide the tears that were threatening to fall. She listened to the conversation, choking down the rush of feelings that had surprised her. She didn't want them all to think she was just some kid who cried.
Despite her best efforts, tiredness and loneliness got the better of the young girl when Vincent asked her how long she had been trying to reach Cloud and Tifa. She hid her face, but her voice broke when she stuttered out an answer, betraying her.
"A-a l-long time, M-mister Vincent. I don't know where they are, what if something happened to them? I j-just want everyone home again!
She tried to gain control over herself, managing somewhat, enough to answer coherently to Vincent's question about going inside. She didn't see why they shouldn't.
"T-that's fine, Mister Vincent.. as long as we don't make a mess..Tifa would be mad."

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Ravus went silent, when the girl started to talk to the man in the red outfit, his two-colored eyes watching everything unfold between her, the woman in white and the Vincent, listening to their conversation in hopes the little girl might know where Cloud could be. He didn't understand what this AVALANCHE was, nor the man's 'life-changing' matter. He would try to leave this star as soon as possible, once he had found the man and gotten the information he wanted. No, it wasn't that easy... if the blond man was missing and not even these two knew where he was, especially since they seem to be rather close, than this option for help might have just fallen out of his grasp. He narrowed his eyes as he went deep in thoughts, gritting his teeth at an other solution having gone up in flames, how it seemed. “I... don't have time for this.”, he muttered to himself, hands balling into fists. “This man might be my only hope right now. As his 'friend', you must know that he destroyed an illness on this planet. If this is true, I MUST know how he did it!”It was not his intention to get louder, but this matter was far to delicate to be taken lightly in his condition right now. It was only a matter of time, before the scourge might try to take him again and turn him into this... creature. This disgusting being Ardyn had cursed him to be. He would do ANYTHING to get this out of his body. He eyes everyone in front of him with a cold expression on his face, as he tried to hide the emotions that dwell in his heart. He also felt something cut deep into him, seeing that little worried girl hugging the man so tightly and trying to hide from the world in his cape. She was so young and left all by herself in this city? Something was wrong here and it only made his anger grow more, his metallic arm twitching slightly. Something bad must have happened to her care-takers... maybe they are dead. No, this wasn't his problem.. but still. He looked at the girl, than at the ground as he tried to make a decision. "I.. need this knowledge. I need it now."

Well, Vincent didn't exactly deny being part of AVALANCHE, or looking for them... With what he had to say about not hearing that name in a long time. Especially if he knew the name of one such member and assumed that she was looking for him. Yeah, that was quite a bit of information for her to work with. She could at least assume that this guy had no ties to Shinra. That was all she was concerned about.
Still, before she could comment on that, Vincent suggested that they all head inside in order to speak more privately -- which was perhaps a wise move. Being out on the street like this would probably draw some unwanted attention, even if they weren't discussing anything illegal or otherwise. She'd give an understanding nod to his suggestion, and it seemed that the girl didn't mind if they went inside, so long as they didn't make a mess.
"No worries there, we won't make a mess.", she would promise. Although Elfé had spent a long time not socializing, she knew enough to be kind to children, and did her best to soften her expression, gaze, and tone of voice when it came to Marlene. Though just as it seems that they were going to enter and get to the bottom of this whole situation, the man in white seemed to have an outburst. Talking about how he didn't have time for this, and how urgent he was that he find who he was looking for.
All the while, raising his voice... Perhaps not his intention, but something that Elfé noticed and wasn't about to let slide, as she takes a single step towards him. "Listen. I don't know what you're going through, and neither does anyone here. Raising your voice isn't going to help us understand. So take a breath, calm down. You want our help, the least you can do is be civil."
Still... For admonishing him over that, she couldn't ignore the plight he seemed to be going through either. He seemed desperate for some sort of knowledge to cure an illness... She could only imagine just what it could be -- with Shinra, the possibilities were nearly endless, and none were too pretty.
As if following her own advice, she takes a breath, and gestures for him to enter with everyone else. "... I want to hear more about what you're going through. If I can help, I will."
Either way, she wasn't going to force the man to do something he didn't want to do. She'd make sure that Vincent and Marlene would be unhindered in their attempts to enter the bar, and then she would do the same. If Ravus joined, then that was perfectly fine by her. Otherwise... She wasn't going to ignore this opportunity to get information related to her own concerns.------ Vincent Valentine Ravus Nox Fleuret Marlene Wallace

So...Tifa and Cloud had been gone long enough to cause Marlene that much worry. Not even mentioning Barret...It only deepened this mystery of theirs. Seems like he had more questions he would have to ask, hopefully the poor girl was willing to answer them. She seemed fairly shaken from all of this. Not that he could really blame her, though he didn't show it, he was concerned for his friends. He had fought alongside Cloud, Tifa, and even Barret long enough to know what they were like. Leaving Marlene behind without even telling her where they were... "That's not like them to just disappear so suddenly."Vincent simply gave Marlene a reassuring pat on the head, trying his best to calm her. Although... He wasn't exactly knowledgeable in that field, so his attempts may have only served as a minor comfort. Still, he hoped his next words would instill some sense of normal into the situation, especially given how tense it had become between himself and the white coated man."Don't worry. If we make a mess I'll take care of it before she gets back. Promise."He gave the young girl a small smile as he looked down at her. But his eyes soon turned back to Ravus as the man seemed to be panicking, his words more and more distressed. It seems Ravus had somehow become aware of Cloud's second victory over Sephiroth during the crisis. Not all that shocking considering it was a rather positive change for the planet as a whole. But it seems the man in white didn't have the full story."Geostigma."He answered Ravus back, attempting to calm his nerves."I'm aware. I was there to see it for myself. If it's knowledge you need, maybe I can help. But we should speak about this inside. It's better not to make a scene. Especially when I can't be sure who exactly is listening."He gave a nod to the cloaked woman, agreeing with what she had to say."I'm curious about your affliction too. If it's anything like Geostigma, then we might have our answer about where exactly Cloud went to. But I didn't think he would come back this soon..."Vincent didn't specify exactly who he was referring to when he said "he"...Marlene would probably know exactly who was being referred to. But as for the other two... Well, they might be a little in the dark about that. He stepped towards the door, allowing Marlene to enter first before he would step inside himself. Once everyone was in, he made sure to shut and lock the door behind them. He was being...Perhaps overly cautious in this situation. But if his suspicions were right, and Sephiroth was returning, he had all the reason to be even more paranoid in this situation."It's time to talk."He approached the bar and tossed a folder onto it, pictures and documents sliding out. ... Pictures of events that happened some years before Midgar's fall. Pictures that featured a strange materia."I think I've found a way to reverse Hojo's experiments. On everyone he's ruined the lives of. And this is the key; Zirconiade. Years ago Hojo implanted someone with this materia, and from all I've been able to gather, they were able to remove it. ... I don't know how yet, but if this much is possible. I think Cloud and I can reverse our conditions. As for the victim involved, I've not been able to find them. Seems no one recognizes the person in the images. Not that I think they would make finding them easy. I'm sure they went into hiding."Some positive news to be sure. For everyone still living that Hojo experimented on to potentially have a way to reverse all of that? It was a chance at regaining their humanity. At becoming themselves again. Vincent... Didn't want to be immortal anymore, to feel the monsters within him tugging at his consciousness, threatening to take over. He hoped this was his chance to reverse all of that."... As for your condition."He stared at Ravus, curiosity welling in his mind as he prepared to ask questions of the man in white."If you know anything about it, you have to tell us. It could be serious, it could even lead us to where Cloud and Tifa have gone. More than that... We might be able to help you. If it's Geostigma we can help you reverse it. If it's not... ... I still want to offer my help."--- Ravus Nox Fleuret Marlene Wallace Elfé
