Tournament Reviews This template is to be used for all Tournament reviews. It is the same form that staff uses. Please copy and paste the code from the bottom into the appropriate match review thread that has been created by the staff. Please do not create your own thread. You cannot review a thread that your character participated in. For every knowledgeable and well written review, you will gain 20 munny to the character account you post the review with. You may only post one review per thread. Please be sure that your review is detailed and informed. Site Rules still apply to raid reviews, so be polite and respectful. Everything a member posts is to be read as constructive criticism and is not to be taken as an attack. Any issues should be reported directly to a staff member. Damage Inflicted and Taken: What powers were used and what damage taken should be reviewed here, as well as the effects of any powers used. Basically, which side dealt more and which side took more damage. Key Points:- Overall damage inflicted
- Strategic use of items
- Overall combative dominance
Questions to Ask Yourself:How much damage would that skill have inflicted on the target? Would a skill be super effective against the character, such as using a potion against someone inflicted with zombie. Who caused the most damage? Which side would have probably won the fight. Skill and Style: This isn't for it being well written, but the creative style and effect of their strategy and if it also had a imaginative visual. Key Points:- In-Character Combat Style
- Skills used wisely
- Use of weaknesses and strength
Questions to Ask Yourself: Did the member stick to their character's fighting style? Did they set them up in a way that would have been hard to defend against? Did that character use their unique/individual fighting style, or 'X-factor' to their best advantage? Did they use their known written powers in such a way that they normally wouldn't use them? Did someone feel out-of-character? Who controlled the battle? Who was more dominant with how the flow of battle went against the other? Did a character seem to be reacting to attacks more than being the one to inflict them? Did one player keep the other on their toes more than the other? Did one character seemed more defensive, calm and collected than the other? Did one person execute an ingenious strategy to win? Did one character identify the other's weaknesses or use their opponent's strength against them? Did a character start at a loss, only to turn it around and gain the flow and control of the battle in their favor? Did a character seem to just use attacks and throw them at the opponent, or used them in a way that was hard for the opponent to fight/defend/counter against? Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: How well did the member write and describe their actions and surroundings. This also includes if a character did not explain themselves or were not justified in their movements or dodging. Key Points:- Stayed In-Character
- Easy to Understand
- Overall fairness
Questions to ask yourself: Did they justify certain movements and their character's fight style? Whether their post was short or long, where they able to explain their actions to the reader and get their point across? Did you question any actions or abilities a character did make? How well did you understand their writing? Did they dodge an attack that should have otherwise harmed them? Did they ignore or shrugged off attacks or write that the attacks had no effect on them? Did they seem to know something about their opponent that otherwise their character wouldn't know? Did a character do something you felt was not fair or use a power not listed/misuse a power listed on their application? Who had the best sportsmanship, and was fair to the other team in taking damage? Did someone take a hit that they probably could have dodged? Did a team take hits that they knew they couldn't dodge realistically? Damage Inflicted and Taken: Hoo boy. Crowe took quite the beating here, Ramza didn't get off entirely scot-free either. But Ramza and Crowe were also working off of some crazy synergy, especially towards the end. Zest probably took the least amount of hits here, and Tidus probably got the worst of it before it was all said and done. Spell after spell was flying at him, and with Ramza deciding to place himself at risk to try and knock out one opponent and cover Crowe, I think they would have gotten the advantage here. [******Damage Taken: Tidus - Damage Inflicted: Ramza & Crowe******] Skill and Style: Zest is one of the highlights here, and I think he works well enough with Tidus. But I'm going to have to give the point to Ramza and Crowe again. Especially for the clutch maneuver toward the end, with Crowe placing herself at risk to heal Ramza, and Ramza returning the favor by healing her at the expense of some of his own health. And they capitalized on this moment to target down Tidus. I think they would pull it off before Zest could save him, too. Though Ramza might not be too well off after, I think this would be the deciding point for Ramza and Crowe. They really sold the weight of the opponent's strategies and attacks, and bounced off of it to work in their own. Sheer style definitely goes to them. And they were definitely starting to gain combat dominance before the match ended.
[******Winner: Ramza & Crowe******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: Zest had great detail and wrote distinctly and clearly. I wasn't confused by any of his posts. Tidus's could have used some improvement, however. In terms of sportsmanship, I also feel like Tidus was a bit lacking. I would say my major complaint against him is that he didn't seem to understand how Rock Throw was being used, and at least in my personal opinion, I think that reflects poorly. For Ramza and Crowe, they did a good job of detailing their posts, and working with what they were given. I will however admit that Zest had a good sense of sportsmanship, and overall it felt like everyone was pretty in character. It's a tough call, but I'm going to give the third and final point to Ramza and Crowe. Nothing personal to the other team! [******Winner: Ramza & Crowe******] Match Winner: ***** Ramza & Crowe ******

This one was a very close match. It's going to be hard to fairly judge this one, but I'll do my best to provide who I think won! Damage Inflicted and Taken: While both sides had a lot of back and forth as far as damage and they were both very strategic, there's no question that Crowe and Ramza took more damage overall in my eyes. They held a very strong defense, but with Tidus and Zest's offensive dominance, they also appeared to get overwhelmed as the match went on, eventually being left quite open due to slowga. Again, while both sides were very good in this category, I saw a stronger showing from Zestidus. Thus I have to give them the win here.
[******Tidus/Zest******] Skill and Style: Probably the second most difficult category to judge, both sides had a VERY strong sense of in-character combat styling, and all four displayed some impressive skill. Ultimately this category is going to come down to personal preference for me, because any reasoning that can be applied to one team, can be applied to the other side in this case. But for me, I believe the best showing here came from Zest in my honest opinion, so while I'd actually like to say "They both deserve this", for this category, I have to choose Zestidus once more.
[******Tidus/Zest******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: The absolute hardest category of the lot for me to judge on. No one was particularly hard to understand here. Zest once again probably showing the strongest writing in my opinion, though Crowe and Ramza had a clear-cut communication going on, so for that I have to say their descriptive writing came out a bit stronger in that regard. There's also the fact that they did nothing to resist the slowga spell, taking the brunt of the other team's attacks in a display of fair sportsmanship. While I think both did well here, I have to award this category to Crowe/Ramza for their own impressive displays.

Damage Inflicted and Taken: As much as I love how much coordination and strategy Ramza and Crowe were displaying, Slowga tipped this category so far in Tidus and Zest's favor it's not even funny. It was dropped in one of the first combat posts and lasted until nearly the last one, plus with Delay Buster forcing Crowe's spells to take an extra post to go off, this is no contest. [******Tidest******] Skill and Style: This one is a little closer. Ramza and Crowe once again showed off a great deal of coordination and teamwork, buffing one another, attempting to focus down the bigger strategic target, and dealing with everything coming at them in creative and fair ways. On the other hand, Tidus was just as annoying to fight in this incarnation as I'd expect of trying to fight him in his source, drastically altering the flow of battle with a variety of supporting abilities that were in his wheelhouse in the original game. As mentioned in the previous point, Slowga, Hastega, and Delay Buster more or less decided that category. Not to be ignored is Zest making excellent use of his shield and the fact that he can sling and retrieve it more or less at will, it was with or protecting Tidus as often as Zest, and he used it offensively at least once. [******Zestidus******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: So, this one is tougher. On the one hand we have Ramza and Crowe interpereting Slowga's effects to be more detrimental than strictly necessary and obeying the restriction in full, plus accounting for the fact that being slower means they'd be hit more often. On the other hand, Rush is still crazy good, and rock throw really versatile. I already mentioned that Slowga is frankly scary, and I imagine that in a raid environment it only gets more so. There is the question of Tidus missing a couple of Rock Throw effects, but I'm calling that a wash because I'm also not sure how sporting it is to explicitly call out that it's happened in-thread. =/ In the end, I'm calling this a draw. Both teams had strong and weak points in both categories, and it just feels like everything balanced out. [******Sraw******] Match Winner: ***** Warriors of Zanarkand ******

Damage Inflicted and Taken: Crowe immediately stands out as the one who took the most damage, though that’s no shame and is a sign of good sportsmanship on her writer’s part. Ramza took quite a bit of damage as well, while Zest got through this pretty intact, while with Tidus it was honestly hard to tell. As for overall combat dominance, Zest and Tidus seized the advantage early with potent time magic keep their opponents on the defensive through sheer action economy. Ramza and Crowe managed to come back some near the end, but the battle ended before they could really make up for lost momentum.
. [******Winner Tidus/Zest******] Skill and Style: Firstly I’d like to praise both teams here, as this match was chock full of some top-notch teamwork. Zest and Tidus had some interesting back in forth with the shield exchanges, while Ramza and Crowe buffed and healed one another all match. Secondly there was some of the most creative positioning work I’ve seen. Tidus and Ramza especially were constantly moving and trying to knock people in/out the way of blasts and other three dimensional thinking. Zest and Crowe got into the action too, knocking people back and away with slashes and air spells. Overall this category was the hardest to judge for me. I’m giving it to Crowe and Ramza because I think their synergy was tighter and their actions more interconnected, but it was a real close thing. [******Winner Crowe/Ramza******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: Zest and Crowe both wrote with great clarity while still keeping it more then stylish enough to know what was going on. Their sportsmanship was above reproach, with a special call-out going to Crowe here for taking all the hits like a champ. The dodges here sometimes strained credulity, with Tidus in particular blocking multiple attacks using one action. As for the rock-throw matter discussed above, I’m not going to rehash what my fellow reviews said except to say that I agree with Mogrid on this one. Not paying attention to what the other writer said is bad, though bringing that up in the posts themselves instead of just going to them in PMs or something seems a bit graceless. All in all, I’m giving this category to Crowe and Ramza, due to their being good sports about acknowledging the other folks moves in their narratives, especially Slowga. -kept waiting for others to review- So yeah... Guess this finishes things. Damage Inflicted and Taken: Despite all the strategy displayed by Crowe and Ramza, when it comes to dealing damage and taking it, Tidus and Zest were doing the most onto Crowe and Ramza. Crowe was at death's door there from the looks of it and things were constantly beating down on them. So Zest and Tidus did do the most damage. [******Zest & Tidus******] Skill and Style: Both were doing great. I have no words for it. But I felt with the style Crowe & Ramza went with how they were buffing each other and brought strategy into their play did bring a great role towards them. Ihonestly have nothing against Zest & Tidus, they were awesome, but that little just puts for me Crowe and Ramza a little before the other two. [******Crowe & Ramza******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: I... have no words, they were both very descriptive and when it comes to sportsmanship, both teams were awesome. Honestly, I got no words for either team. Still, the clarity given by Ramza & Crowe were a little better than Zest & Tidus, I am sorry. I had a very, very hard time reviewing this, but Crowe & Ramza take this section for me. Yet, both teams were winners to me. T_T;; [******Crowe & Ramza******] Match Winner: ***** Crowe & Ramza ******
