That's One Way to End Lost [Lycoris, Closed]

Lycoris’ shoulders quivered ceaselessly, the entirety of her body trembled with scantily contained rage. The once prestigious PSICOM R&D Field Agent’s seething temper countered perfectly by the frigid numbness that had spread throughout her chest as the realization dawned upon her – the society she’d given everything to protect had turned its’ back upon her. A muted mechanical whirling resonated throughout her makeshift laboratory as her slender fingers curled inwards into a tightly clenched fist. So, lost within her thoughts, Siuan’s beckoning was nothing more than a soft lull in the background. None the less, Lycoris’ answered it, albeit, it was with the sound of countless of her failed experimentations being knocked to the ground. Before the symphony had ended, one could hear a thunderous roar as Lycoris’ brought her mechanized fist down upon the table with enough force that its’ stainless-steel surface buckled beneath her blow. Before she could regain her composure, the entirety of the ship rumbled with enough force to send Lycoris tumbling roughly to the side. Her bloodshot eyes narrowed as her hand darted outwards in a vain effort to find something to anchor herself down. Lycoris’ silhouette collided roughly with the adjacent wall with enough force that it knocked the wind from her, temporarily rendering her silent. A few seconds passed before she was able to muster little more than a pained groan. [break][break]

Her biomechanical fingers tentatively went down to cradle her ribs, almost entirely certain she’d bruised at least once. Fortunately, her armament of diverse manadrives had painstakingly been selected to provide her much needed versatility while in the field – one of its’ components was one designed to replicate curative magick. Manadrive helped momentary dull the pain, forcibly exciting the damaged cells to repair themselves in an organized fashion. However, the solved only one of her many problems, the next most important was how was she going to escape her makeshift laboratory – she couldn’t simply walk on the ceiling to get to the door more than twenty feet away. “Siaun, what in the bloody hell just happened?”
She shouted, unaware that her fellow agent was indeed within the same aircraft. With yet another pained groan, Lycoris stumbled to her feet, her eyes scanning the surrounding in an attempt to formulate a way out of the room. Unfortunately, the table while it was bolted the ground was nearly eight feet away, it wasn’t possible for her to reach the far edge and use it as a makeshift foothold – well not without some assistance. Without further delay, her hand extended out in front of her, an audible snap of her fingers echoed throughout the room as she’d activated one of her successful protoype drives, Howling tempest. [break][break]

Immediately, her body felt marginally lighter, her hands dangling by her side as she’d punched down towards the ground, a burst of high pressure wind propelling her upwards, nearly half way to the table. Once she’d reached the peak of her ascent, she’d punched down a second time, this burst propelling her just enough for her to grip the edge of the table. With a mimimal amount of effort, she’d pulled herself carefully up onto its’ edge, precariously positioning her feet as she’d prepared to clear the remainder of the distance. Her legs tensed as she’d pushed off her fist punching downwards one final time, the last burst of wind magick was substainally stronger. A smile played at her lips as she’d managed to grasp the edge of the door frame, quickly managing to shimmy at least half of her upper body through the door way.“I could use a little assistance.”
She shouted, tightening her core muscles as she’d attempted to further inch her way into the hallway.

Lycoris’ pulse echoed deafeningly in her own ears as adrenaline coursed vigorously through her veins, providing her with the means to temporarily abate her mounting fatigue – maintaining her precarious positioning for a few seconds longer. Lycoris’ coral-hued lips parted subconsciously as she’d breathed a sigh of relief. Siuan’s response served two-fold, first and foremost, it’d provided her with peace of mind, knowing that her comrade wasn’t a crumpled heap, buried halfway beneath debris or unused ordinance. Secondly, it’d momentarily overrode the haunting symphony of the ship’s agonal metallic groans. Lycoris’ teeth dug into her bottom lip as she was faced with the realization, it was within the realm of probability that the ship’s structural integrity could have been compromised by their crash-landing. [break][break]
Before the former PSICOM Research & Development Agent sunk further into her pessimistic realizations, she’d briefly registered a flicker of movement out of the corner of her eyes. Her head instinctively snapped in the direction, admittingly pleased to see Siaun given her current situation. Fortunately, the door’s weight wasn’t too cumbersome, however, Siuan’s efforts to lift it took one or two nuances off her metaphorical plate. Daringly, she shifted one of her arms backwards so that it hung haphazardly by her side. Her alabaster bio-mechanical fingers twitched as she’d adjusted its’ programing to prepare another Mana Drive, her intentions was to use another miniscule Aero blast to provide herself with yet another boost of upward momentum. [break][break]

When it’d fired off, Lycoris felt her stomach heave as it was launched upwards just a few inches, just enough for her hand to dart outwards, shifting her weight forward just enough that her knees smacked painfully against the door’s framework. Lycoris’ muttered a string of obscene phrases, shakily raising to her feet. “ Thank you, what in the blood hell happened?”
