Chip and Dale's Double Trouble Birthday Cup The town of Disney is all the rage on this day. Balloons are hanging from every available surface, and the entire town is nearly covered in either confetti, or devices to spray confetti. A special event was underway: Chip and Dale were given permission by Minnie to throw a huge tournament for everyone in the town. Because they were such a great pair, they wanted the tournament to show of the greatest two man teams in all the worlds. Now, here they sit behind a tiny announcer's table, with tiny microphones, jumping excitedly at the start of the tournament. Where there was once a gazebo, now stood a tile arena floor, very similar to Olympus Colliseum's arena. "Oh boy!"Yeah, Chippers, we got a great match for everyone!""Mhmm! First up is-"Posting Order: @dungeon, Mogrid, @generalbeatrix, @jamescabuelo

ONE SKY, ONE DESTINY Disney Town was an exciting place by the looks of it. Every corner and cranny was splashed with vibrancy and life, especially with the surplus of balloons everywhere. The confetti was another layer of madness.
With the announcement of the first competitor, Sora stepped up, ready to battle. He knew close to nothing about his partner for this doubles tournament. The one shred of info was her name, Beatrix. It sounded feminine but he wasn't going to assume much else from that. There were hundreds of worlds and just a name alone wouldn't be enough to describe someone. They could be human like him, an animal like Mickey, or even something like an object come to life. There was so much possibility in the universe, even Santa Clause was real.
On that note of the unknown, the bearer wasn't aware of either opponent's name. They could be anyone, Donald and Goofy included though he did wonder why they hadn't greeted him if they were around. Probably still busy with their duties. But that didn't hold him down because he trusted that he'd see them again soon. The triumphant trio would be united someday!
The boy waved to the crowd, eager to get the battle underway. He scanned the visible sections of the arena, so far a simple set up of tiles. Seemed a bit vanilla for this diverse world. It was off-putting, the boy expected some sort of surprise twist.
Guess he had to watch out for one.

Disney Town was a strange place by the looks of it. He wasn't sure if all new worlds were this vibrant, but this one certainly was. Not just the colouration, but the thrum of the castle was almost upbeat enough to give the moogle a toothache. Finding a straight wall was nigh impossible, vertical or horizontal. The floors were level, but not the same level, and even the doors had doors in them. Mogrid might be in love.
Too bad he was only here to be entered in a tournament. Against strangers and with strangers at his side. He was waiting in the wings of the arena grounds when the first competitor for his match was announced, to the absolutely deafening ROAR of the crowd. The moogle was watching the gates though, and felt a disquieting sensation that he'd seen the young hume somewhere before. Which was impossible, but there it was.
The moogle shook his head and made sure that his bandana was secured. He'd be an idiot to let his pom flop around and be used as a target and a liability. The moogle would be called next, and he wasn't sure who his partner James was, but his turn was after their remaining opponent. And then the fight would start, and he'd either be eliminated or one step closer to the prize.
His name was announced, so the moogle trotted out of the gate and over to the edge of the arena. Mogrid nodded to the hume child and extended his arms to the side, summoning the Mognificent Mechanist into his paw in a whirl of spectral cogwork. No reason he couldn't ham things up for the crowd, even if he only wanted the keyblade out to calm his nerves.
When his partner arrived, the moogle would add, sotto voce, "Hey kid. Welcome to round one. Go all out, I'll try to keep you safe as I ca-er." He'd trail off when he caught sight of the thing following him. Was that a tame entite..? These worlds got stranger and stranger.

Strange new worlds and the war within them. This was not Traverse Town. And it most certainly was not Alexandria.
General Beatrix had heard about a tournament, a combat competition that offered a wide array of prizes and glory. While neither truly suited Beatrix’s interests, the possibility of finding what manner of warriors lay in the outward worlds did intrigue her. On Gaia, she was hailed as the best swordswoman in the land. She was proud of that title, only in that it was a testament to how hard she had worked to become affluent in the usage of a blade. But that was only in her home; these outer worlds surely had fighters of similar or possibly greater caliber. She wasn’t as arrogant as to consider herself everywhere – but she was more than happy to test anyone she could.
Disney Town was so glaringly different from both her home and Traverse Town, she had to pause upon arriving at the settlement. Everything was so… bright. The colors were rich and effervescent, a startling contrast to the rugged rustic demeanor of Alexandria and the deep hues of the world she had accidently been transported to. She had taken some time before heading to find the battleground to look around, taking in the vibrancy that seemed to occupy every niche of the world. The architecture of the structures was lopsided, like drawn by a child and colored in by one as well. Doors looked more like loopy ovals rather than form-fitted entryways. It was all so… pleasant. Truthfully, Beatrix was a bit astounded by the sights and couldn’t help the small smile that came to her face as some celebrating citizens passed her. Their enthusiasm was infectious, even if she was still searching for a way home again.
But her exploration came to an end shortly after that, the General bringing herself to the tournament grounds so that she could sign herself up. She was sure that Ramza and Tifa were here as well, though she wasn’t sure if they had signed up together. She understood that this was meant to be a team tournament; meant to commemorate the synergy that came from a tandem force. Her heart longed, more than anything else, for Steiner to be here and to take up the role of her partner. But alas, without a pathway home, she was left to sign herself up as a single and be shuffled together with an unknown ally against equally unknown competitors.
When her name was called, she approached the tiled arena to the utter vocal passion of the audience. She stepped onto the flat slates, her physique relaxed despite the vibrating shouts that surrounded her. She had never been one to offer the crowd boisterous or over-the-top presentations in greetings; her professionalism wouldn’t allow it. Her actions within the event itself would give them enough to cheer for. She fell in place besides Sora, her head twisting to look at him. He was on the younger side; probably somewhere in his teens. A more naïve fighter may have scoffed at the thought of fighting alongside a teenager but Beatrix knew better. She had grown up in a world where learning to fight came before one had even it double digits. It was surprising to see that he didn’t wield a weapon but perhaps he was a fist fighter, like Tifa was. “Beatrix of Alexandria. It’s an honor to fight beside you,” she greeted her with a gentle but respectful nod of her head.
Then she cast her gaze across at their opponents. And one of them utterly surprised her. It looked not unlike a Moogle – in fact, she was almost sure it was some off-shoot variation of a Moogle. A fighting Moogle was practically unheard of on Gaia and yet here was one and they were wielding… Her eyes narrowed at the sight of the strange looking weapon. It was some kind of blade, that much she was sure of, but it didn’t carry the same details of a sword one may know. She hummed quietly to herself, her interest piqued as she brought her right arm around her torso and laid a single hand on Save the Queen’s handle. Her body stiffened, though it would be hard to tell with one’s eyes. She was ready for whatever was to come.

James had not been to this world yet it was very amazingly colorful. Was Mickey from this world? It sure looked like it would be since he looked like he would fit in here. He did after all look more abstract compared to regular people. James had never really entered a tournament before, well aside from that one time he met Sora but at least he wouldn't have to fight his friend right?
James wondered this all to himself as he was soon called to the stage and what would you know Sora was there teamed up against him. "Just my luck." James said as he looked down at the floor of the arena as he did not really want to fight his friend. He heard a voice then noticed his partner calling him a kid. It was not surprising at this point since James did in fact look like one due to his appearance.
He then noticed that even though he was given the names of who he was fighting James hoped it wasn't the same Sora, It was though. "Hey Sora lets give this crowd a good show." James said trying to cheer himself up before drawing his sword 'Azure Edge' from its hilt. He did not like to fight friends but he had no choice in the matter at this point.
"So Mogrid right? I suppose we will be allies today?" James asked even though he knew that this was the case. Koa was still floating next to James of course and it was just in the form of her ball of light body. She did not say anything this time which was strange since she was usually very talkative before now.
"Lets do our best everyone!" James said holding his sword in front with a focused stance.

ONE SKY, ONE DESTINY "I'm Sora... of Destiny Island!" He said, reacting to Beatrix. She appeared to be the most stoic fighter that the boy had ever seen. Her whole attitude and appearance was enough to let him know that she was seasoned, injured ocularly, and probably able to cut down just about any opponent she need to. But there was something about her, kind of like an aura that reminded the boy of someone else he met before. Another blader... one that was dead or just mostly dead.
"You remind me of someone I know. Have you ever met a guardian named Auron?" He asked, forgetting that the next combatant had just appeared. He was only paying half the attention he could have been. So upon glancing over at an standing moogle he was taken back by its keyblade. He even flinched.
"You too? Nice!" He conjured the keyblade into his grasp, the kingdom key was a simple design compared to the one wielded by the short creature. Theirs was certainly ornate in its own way with a gear, ruby, and wing motif mixed together. There was a quality to its features that the boy would think that Chip and Dale would appreciate.
"James!" He blurted upon seeing his friend. Go figure that the next time they'd be in a tournament that he'd face him. Oh.. wait. That meant facing the goddess Koa as well.. and there she was with him. The pair seemed to be linked by a force greater than fate. But Sora understood that's exactly what it meant to be chosen, to be united with something higher.
"This will be so fun!" He said, accepting the challenge presented. It was a shame that James was his first opponent but that did mean the loser of the match would get to hang around and watch a friend compete.
Then the boy watched for the Alexandrian's reaction. Cold and calculating. She was here to win.
"But no holding anything back! We're fighting to win!" He said, hoping she understood that he was going to try his best.
The announcers called for the fight to begin. Sora jumped into action, literally. His keyblade was aimed to the closer opponent... Mog... Mogdread? Modreg?
The boy felt guilty for not even knowing his opponent's name. It was his fault for not paying attention. But that guilt wasn't anywhere near strong enough to break his competitive spirit. Three keyblade attacks went towards that moogle.
First a horizontal slash then an overhead bat and after that another slash going the other way: a full on assault!

Mogrid raised his 'blade in salute to the swordswoman and child they were facing as his partner arrived. She'd seemed puzzled by him, so he made a mental note to talk to her after the match, if he could find her. He also acknowledged James's greeting with a nod. One way or another, the tournament would be informative, so he may as well try to have fun. Of course, it seemed like today was a day of surprises of all kinds, as one of the opponents produced a keyblade of his own.
Mogrid blinked in shock and broke out into a giddy grin. "Another one? Amazing, I haven't seen another weapon like mine since the mine, kupo!" He said, practically dancing on the spot. Which, unfortunately left him completely exposed to Sora's onslaught.
The first strike connected cleanly with his shoulder, sending the moogle staggering to one side. Thankfully, he had cut his combat teeth on creatures that weren't trying to win a competition but legitimately wanted to kill him, and he used the stagger to start a roll that carried him just past the vertical stroke. Finally he brought his own weapon into a block that intercepted the other keyblade bare inches from his face.
"Note to self, no getting distracted during a fight, kupo." He said, shaking his head. Sora was too close not to hear him, though the clashing keyblades probably drowned him out for other participants, and he added "Hey, we should talk after, I have a lot of questions!"
He braced his keyblade against his shoulder to free a hand, which he extended across his body toward James. With a call of "Defence!" a shimmering field of energy surrounded his partner to Protect him from physical blows.

Strange new worlds and the war within them. “Sora of Destiny Islands,” she repeated with a soft smile, committing his name to memory. He was an energetic teenager, full of life and excitement for the world around him. She only had to have known him for a short time to know that. He reminded her a little of Zidane and that only made him all that more appealing as a partner. Her brow furrowed in thought as he asked her if she had met someone – a guardian – named Auron. “I can’t say I recognize the name, unfortunately. I come from the world Gaia, so if he is from there, he must be from an island I haven’t been to.” Steiner had been the one to travel over Gaia while she had remained in Alexandria. If anyone would know about any kind of ‘Auron’, it may have been him. Her attention followed Sora’s as he exclaimed at the sight of the Moogle’s weapon, seeming to familiarize it. And then, just like that, he brought forth his own weapon from thin air – a giant key, for lack of a better description. Beatrix blinked at the newly retrieved blade, her eyes flitting between it and the one the Moogle had. They were similar; with Sora’s being far less intricate in design than the one that Mogrid had. She made a note to ask one if not both of them about the weapons after the match. The Moogle seemed just as elated to see another one, dropping the classic ‘kupo’ at the end of his sentence. That confirmed that it was, indeed, a Moogle. So many different people from different walks of life; Beatrix could feel her head almost swimming. But admiration for all the different spokes of the tournament wheel would have to wait; there was a battle to partake in. Sora greeted the other competitor, named James, as if he was an old friend. It seemed the strangers in this match were Mogrid and Beatrix. She drew Save the Queen out and held it vertically in front of her, returning the salute to the honor-bound Moogle, and then flicked it to the side in preparation. And when the call for them to start came, Sora was the first one to rush in, leaping at the competitor who had the similar blade as his. That left James to Beatrix and she didn’t wait a second after her ally had attacked to act. She swung her blade in front of her horizontally, as if she was swiping vines from her gaze. “Silence,” she said softly as her weapon completed its move, the blade humming loudly and releasing a ringing noise not unlike a bell striking the hour. Then she charged at James, Save the Queen still poised to the side and starting to glow ever brighter with each step. Her left hand came up, originally aimed at James but then darting to face Mogrid. A puffy smoke emerged from her flesh and danced around her fingers like baby snakes before she closed her hand into a fist, squeezing the smoke out. With the Blind spell hopefully taking Mogrid’s vision out of the way and giving Sora the advantage, Beatrix attached her left hand to the handle of her blade, completing the last part of her next attack. The blade jolted to life – a crack not unlike a whip erupted through the air as her weapon sparked with electric magic. And as she came upon James’ proximity, she swung the weapon diagonally, looking to knock him off balance with her strength and sap his strength and willpower with the magically induced lightning. Battle Situation:1. Silence at James 2. Blind at Mogrid 3. Thunder Slash at James

As they started the fight the woman who he barely had time to introduce himself to started off strong. She had done something James had not expected as she swung her sword in front of herself but nowhere close to where James was currently.
Prepping a 'Koa's Armory Projectile' to throw at her from that distance he begun to cast it but soon realized he could not do so. He tried to use his Koa's Shield then again to no avail. "What the?!" James exclaimed in shock as he soon realized he could not use any of his Magical abilities. "!!!" James could not believe this happened as most of his abilities were Magical in nature.
James actually had to use close combat which was Not his preference for fighting. James gritted his teeth as he kept his sword at the ready but when she went after Mogrid it gave him a small window of opportunity to use his Lantern to give him an edge in the fight because right now he was pretty much useless without his magic.
He would attempt to change that as he took out a gold-plated Lantern with a burning white flame in it. "I still have this!" James said as he opened the lantern and let the Holy Flame that was the Koa's Candle be partially absorbed by his sword the 'Azure Edge'.
Suddenly after doing this his normal steel colored sword went ablaze with Blue Flames! James put his Lantern away and smiled as the sword took on its true form. But there would not be much time to celebrate as Beatrix went straight for James with a Lightning type of attack.
James quickly switched his stance to a defensive one and attempted to block the lightning attack. He did not fully block it though as he felt the shocks in his body hurting him, however the Azure Flames did block most of the attack as Flames and Lightning had similar properties.
James felt the pain of course and could not use any of his magic which Beatrix did know but Sora did not know this which gave James the element of surprise on him. "Hey Sora! Sorry but I am going to do this for real now!"
James said knowing Sora knew most of his abilities. James made the motions for a 'Koa's Armory Projectile' which would not happen of course but made it seem like he did have it still. "See if you can dodge this Sora!" James was bluffing of course as it would most likely catch Sora off guard with this attempt before James charged in with his 'Azure Edge' right after making it look like he would fire off the light energy swords he was used to using.
James went for an upward diagonal slice from below Sora's knee to his shoulder in terms of where he was slicing toward. James was out of his element but he would still try!
~ James blocks most of Beatrix's Thunder Slash but still gets hurt James attempts to fool Sora into thinking he was going to cast his Koa's Armory Projectile at him. James charges at Sora with a diagonal sword swing after.
OOC Notes: Applying fire to the weapon is part of how his weapon works so it does not count as a battle action.

ONE SKY, ONE DESTINY With his first strike a hit but his others blocked or avoided, Sora was somewhat surprised to see the moogle playing support opposed to the aggressive melee implied by the weapon. The only other keybearers the boy knew happened to be powerful fighters, including the king. Not to say that support wasn't a worthy avenue of expertise, in fact it seemed to be especially useful now in this double's tournament. Could Sora even help his own partner? It seemed pretty unnecessary. Beatrix was a powerful warrior by the looks of her preparedness to battle, electric whip and all. The boy wondered if James was faring well against her...
"Huh?" His attention was drawn by James just in that moment. Something about a Koa power. But which one was it??? That tournament was a while ago. One of those powers had to be a distance attack.
Sora wasn't sure if his guard could block a light attack... the boy needed Reflect to do something so decisively defensive. But Guard was a physical thing... tough call.
"Ha!" He raised his keyblade, utilizing his Guard but finding his timing was off. Instead there was nothing and the boy was very sure that James was bluffing. Crafty kid!
"Wait..." Then his friend was coming for him with his own weapon set on fire with the power of his goddess. Sora reacted by just... reacting!
He was knocked in the knee by the blade, a painful burn left by his ardent and azure attack.
"FIRE!" He said, conjuring his own flame. Heat burst from around him as a counter attack, though having no counter and being more of a revenge measure.
"HUUAHH!" Another attack, this one another close range power. But this one was stronger, a finishing attack that bit with great magic not unlike James's. Though not a divine strength it was a pure light in which spheres of it encircled the boy to strike at those again too close.
Actions Guarded nothing. Used Fire since James got too close. EXPLOSION!!! Guard Sora readies himself to defend, holding up his keyblade with perfect timing to protect against physical attacks. If an attack is successfully blocked then a dome of light appears around Sora, visually confirming the guard and starting the cooldown. [Cooldown: 1 post] Fire Sora creates a ring of flames around himself to strike enemies that are too close for comfort. [Cooldown: 1 post] Explosion Sora while balanced on two feet, musters his inner power. In a vortex of light, three spheres of energy flash around in a circle and do neutral damage on enemies too close for comfort. [Cooldown: 2 posts]

Mogrid barely had time to register that his partner was surrounded by a protective barrier before the world went hazy. Not because of anything supernatural, he was just temporarily blinded by magick. Happened often enough in the Lhusu mines that the moogle was concerned, but not alarmed. Moments after, he heard the slash and smelled the ozone coming from one of the competitor's strikes.
Since they were worthless right now, Mogrid closed his eyes and perked up his ears. He wasn't exactly a bat, but he wasn't going to be caught off-guard just because he couldn't see either. Until he was. Sora's fiery counterattack came just a scant second before Mogrid started moving, helping motivate the mechanist to make his way swiftly along what his memory told him was the edge of the arena. Judging by the explosive sounds he heard a moment later, that was a good call on his part. He quickly patted out the arm he was pretty sure was smouldering, (note to self: new shirt with less grease) and raised his blade in a defensive posture.
Alright, he'd just barely glimpsed and had definitely heard James charge in for Sora. He'd disengaged, which made him a fairly stationary and likely vulnerable looking target with his eyes obscured. Mogrid strained his ears for the sound of steel armor in motion, and would orient himself in that direction with his blade aimed vaguely for what he hoped was either a downstroke or a side slash. If either of those came toward him, he was prepared to adjust the position of the Mognificent Mechanist in order to intercept the stroke.
Of course, he had a backup plan as well. Just because he couldn't aim NOW didn't mean he'd never be able to, after all. "Heed me, o north wind. Herald of winter and breath of Clarity, bring thy frigid gaze upon this place." he chants, causing three swirling vortexes of snowy energy to manifest near him.
-----
1) Dodge Explosion by dint of being somewhere else 2) Prepare for Bladecatcher against Beatrix 3) Charge Blizzard Barrage
Bladecatcher: If using an appropriate weapon, Mogrid is able to catch a melee attack and trap the weapon, putting it's use on a special cooldown for 1 post. Overuse of this ability makes it predictable though, and for every time he uses Bladecatcher, its cooldown increases by 1 post while he looks for a new chance. (1st use, no successes so far) (30% chance of success due to Blind, 1-3 on a d10)(Triggers if attacked with a weapon by Beatrix, On success, that weapon will go on cooldown until the next post)
Blizzard Barrage: By charging up for a moment, the user can send a barrage of Blizzard spells at their opponents. Select three targets per round charged (these targets can duplicate), and send a blizzard spell at each. Charge - 1-5 posts Hit chance per strike: 85% (1-17 on a d20) (75% base, 10% from Mogchanically Inclined). (currently 45% due to blind Cooldown - Twice as many posts as was charged.
Current Charge - 1

Strange new worlds and the war within them. The silence and the blind spells both connected in full force and it seemed they had been rightfully cast at the right targets. He could see the surprise in James’ face as he tried to build up magic power but found it lacking entirely. A quick glance over to Mogrid allowed her the sight of the Moogle closing his eyes, his vision giving him no advantage in the fight. But her attention was quickly back on James as he declared that he was not defenseless and brought forth a lantern with a flickering wisp of fire in its core. He unlatched it from its prison and the flames belched outwards, swirling around his blade and becoming one with the metal. “Hm,” was the only noise she made at his proud proclamation, even as she charged at him. The electrified blade of Save the Queen came down and clashed with her opponent’s weapon, causing the flames and lightning to mix together and roar for supremacy. In the end, he proved modest enough as a swordsman to keep himself from being completely taken by the attack. She brought the sword back up, ready to attack once more but then James… turned away from her. His attention went to Sora, the boy he clearly knew well, and exclaimed that he was ready to fight for real. Was he holding back? Testing her strength? A viable tactic, considering that was essentially what her first volley against him had been. But instead of turning his blade and antics on her, he made some motions at Sora and then, surprisingly, took off in his direction. Was he hoping to two-man Sora with Mogrid? That was unacceptable, nearly as much as it was to put one’s back to their opponent. She would make sure to teach him that lesson, even as her boots clacked on the ground in pursuit. Her eyes flicked to the Moogle that had moved away from Sora, giving James ample room to engage the Keyblade warrior by himself. Her partner released a geyser of piping hot fire and then followed up with a literal light display – three orbs of light energy spun around him viciously. Swapping partners it was then; Beatrix shifted her direction slightly, now charging towards Mogrid. She pushed off the ground, bringing herself in the air as her sword-bearing arm pulled back. Once she was within his proximity, she would land with her sword leading the way; a jumping, downward slash intended to knock him onto the ground and halt the spell that he had hastily started to power. She quickly followed the strikes up with two side slashes, the sword weaving in front of her as easily as an entertainer might wield a baton. “This… blade of yours. How did you acquire such a weapon?” she asked between the strikes, showing her mastery in conversational combat. She was curious; both about the weapon itself and how comfortable Mogrid was with actual combat. Battle Situation:1. Jumping Downward Slice at Mogrid 2. Side Slash at Mogrid 3. Side Slash at Mogrid

ONE SKY, ONE DESTINY Astonished to see that his attacks seemed to have staggered James, Sora took the opportunity to combine forced with Beatrix. Any chance to overwhelm one opponent could mean victory.
"Coming for you!" Sora announced, flinging himself at the moogle with a sideways strike.
Then after that he combo'd a vertical attack. This wasn't going to be as simple as his opening however. The boy lifted himself into the position for a useful finisher: Guard Break. This was a strike that could undo basic blocks and guards while getting in an attack.
"Let's finish this!" The boy said, hoping that his partner would get an opportunity to lay down the damage since Sora created a perfect opportunity, or was at least making the attempt. He wasn't watching out for any tricks the moogle might have in store.
@generalbeatrix Mogrid@jamescabuelo Actions First, a horizontal attack on Mogrid Second, a vertical attack on Mogrid Third, a Guard Break on Mogrid Guard Break Sora unleashes a piercing attack with the keyblade, a strike that undoes normal blocks and guards while dealing damage. [Cooldown: 2 posts] Abilities on Cooldown (0 means available next time) Guard Sora readies himself to defend, holding up his keyblade with perfect timing to protect against physical attacks. If an attack is successfully blocked then a dome of light appears around Sora, visually confirming the guard and starting the cooldown. [Cooldown: 0 post] Fire Sora creates a ring of flames around himself to strike enemies that are too close for comfort. [Cooldown: 0 post] Explosion Sora while balanced on two feet, musters his inner power. In a vortex of light, three spheres of energy flash around in a circle and do neutral damage on enemies too close for comfort. [Cooldown: 1 posts]

Bladecatcher roll 1-3 succeeds, 4-10 fails: zhVruxks1-10 It wasn't hard for Mogrid to predict from where Beatrix was coming, he could hear her charge from halfway across the arena. What he hadn't counted on was how FAST she was able to swing that sword. No sooner had he begun to move his keyblade to trap her swing than he felt the blow land on his head, splitting his bandana in two and setting his ears to ringing. He fumbled uselessly for the energy of the spell, but the energy dissipated harmlessly into the air.
He hunkered down behind his keyblade, letting out a frustrated "ENOUGH, KUPO!" then stood up and shifted his stance, focusing entirely on his hearing and the flow of energy his pom was able to detect. He was more than just an engineer, his dreaming journey had shown him that he was a stalwart defender, and "I. Will. Not. Be. Moved!" He growled. If not for the fact that he barely reached Beatrix's waist he might be intimidating.
And that was when the onslaught really started. He wasn't able to see either of the knight's follow-up strikes, but he kupo well slammed the tip of his key into the arena floor and put himself on the other side of the blade from Beatrix's weapon.
Through the haze of anger sending his blood thrumming through his ears, he heard her question. He released his blade and summoned it again from whatever place it came as he said "My dreams. I tempered myself for two years against the darkness before I ever held this weapon.".
A shout from his left, Mogrid canted his head and listened, then realized he could feel the other 'blade's presence through his pom. He swatted aside the first two strikes while he continued "After that I actually learned how to use this thing fighting monsters in the mines near my workshop. Saw some things down there that would-" here he slapped the thrust aimed at him on the underside of the blade, sending Sora's weapon over his head as he stepped around behind the youth's path, almost a pirouette as he continued without missing a beat in his sentence "-curl the pom off one of my siblings, kupo. But it was better that I was dealing with the monsters than my family or some half-cocked adventurer. I may only be an engineer, but anyone by the Lhusu mines learns one thing quickly."
He stood there, half facing both Beatrix on his left and Sora on his right while the ruined halves of his bandana fell away from his scalp and the trickle of blood there. "Monsters don't care if you're a civilian, kupo."
