Chip and Dale's Double Trouble Birthday Cup The town of Disney is all the rage on this day. Balloons are hanging from every available surface, and the entire town is nearly covered in either confetti, or devices to spray confetti. A special event was underway: Chip and Dale were given permission by Minnie to throw a huge tournament for everyone in the town. Because they were such a great pair, they wanted the tournament to show of the greatest two man teams in all the worlds. Now, here they sit behind a tiny announcer's table, with tiny microphones, jumping excitedly at the start of the tournament. Where there was once a gazebo, now stood a tile arena floor, very similar to Olympus Colliseum's arena. "Oh boy!"Yeah, Chippers, we got a great match for everyone!"Mhmm! [attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"] ❝ Rina’s heart thumped into her ribcage as her name was announced to the crowd. She liked to think it was excitement sending her body into overdrive and not nervousness. The last tournament she had been in (which had also been her first) had taken a lot out of her. She had gone home and slept for a week it felt like. Rina was stronger now. She was surer of herself and her abilities. This would be a better tournament this go around. For more than one reason. She wouldn’t be alone this time. Her backup would be someone she trusted more than anyone.
As she made her way into the center of the area she had a small smile on her lips and she waved at the crowd. Rina took her spot and walked slowly around in a circle taking in the center of town. She had never been to Disney Town before. It seemed to be the happiest place around. Maybe she would stick around for a little bit after the tournament. Speaking of which…
It seemed it was time to meet her opponents.

Typically the little Gaian Black Mage would be a balled up knot of nerves and uncertainty in a situation like this but it was nearly impossible for him to withdraw on himself now. See, Vivi didn't actually sign up for this tournament until the last moment. He'd been to Disney Town before when he'd participated in a magic casting contest which was a lot of fun! He really liked it here. It was like a little toy town and it seemed like there was always something fun going on here.
Finding out about the tournament made him think of only one person and he waited around, hoping and sure enough he got the reunion he wished for the most. Suddenly he didn't feel so aimless anymore.
Vivi came second in the line up so when he was called, he adjusted his hat and began his waddling treck pausing only once to smooth out his bunched up robes before he joined the young woman at the center of the area. She would apparently be an opponent and she was actually quite pretty, almost as pretty as Dagger. He waved his gloved hand and uttered a shy "Hullo." before folded his hands and let them rest over his tummy. He looked down at his feet and he waited, unsure of what else to do with himself. The rogue was never one for niceties. He was a brusque fellow who had a drive for adventuring and excitement. What better for a tournament to provide!? Of course this was a whole new world for him and so bight! It was like everything here was a stage, a place to play the games. The actors were all smiles with bright faces. Even their announcers were a pair of really cute mice, or Mu. Something. And look who he found! This was turning out to be the best day so the thief was in a spirited mood. He missed the little guy so finally finding him was a piece of excitement. He should have guessed Vivi found way to a place full of nothing but laughter and cheer! He walked up after Vivi did, just off to the side and a bit back Drawing his blades he stood at the ready. "So let's start!" He wouldn't rush the little mage who always seemed keen on making new friends first. "This'll be a wild ride!" But who was the last opponent? Not that it mattered because he was going to get to go all out with the little guy like in their adventures! It had been a long time... Zidane's grown though and has gained a few unexpected skills in the process. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

"Get out of my way! Do you dare fight a Black Waltz?" As the last (and certainly the best) contender, Black Waltz No. 3 bore witness to the second and third combatants as they came out, his glowing yellow eyes narrowing on the pair with a burning, personal hatred. Vivi... Zidane... Those two had been chiefly responsible for his humiliating defeat back at the Lindblum gates, their combined power (plus that of a certain traitor) managed to overwhelm the unstable mage!
"...This could not have been planned better..." He muttered into his feathered collar, his form hidden among the surrounding crowd. "I... Black Waltz No. 3.... shall obtain my revenge..."
Spreading his mighty wings, the machine PUSHED into the air with a hefty *FLAP*, hurling himself over the crowd before deftly landing beside Rina the instant his name was spoken. He glared down at the prototype first, his meek, childish personality revolting the much more mature Black Waltz. His gaze then turned to Zidane, the smug, arrogant monkey-thief who led the band of misfits against him... He had enough charisma to command a failure knight, a worthless prototype and a treacherous princess... It revolted him MORE that he had been defeated by his hand! The machine pointed his crecent staff towards the enemy team, his eyes glowing a cruel gold beneath the black shadow that covered his face.
"It is a pity the princess and her pet soldier did not trail you... I would have relished their expressions watching you two burn." Voltage flashed across the creature's face and down his body, vines and tendrils of weaving electricity dancing just above his body.

[attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"] ❝ ABORT MISSION. ABORT MISSION.
It may have been a funny statement that someone would use to joke around in a situation gone amiss, but it was the only bouncing around in Rina’s head at that moment. As soon as the small one named Vivi walked out and kindly greeted her, the blood in her veins turned into ice. It was Waltz. This little thing was a miniature Waltz. The Prototype…the one who was so far beneath Black Waltz 3.
Rina knew of his partner as well. The one with the tail. Waltz’s hatred for the pair was something that Rina endured on a regular basis and so almost by default she had a small amount of dislike for them just from Waltz’s account but seeing them here in the flesh? They…didn’t look all as bad as he had made them seem. She wasn’t going to say that out loud though…
As Waltz came flying out from the holding area, he came barreling towards them like Hell was following him. She could feel the wind from his wings blow against her as she landed, the surge of electricity that followed making the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. After he seethed his threat to the duo Rina knew she would have to try rein him in…he was out to kill.
Rina shortened the distance between her and Waltz hoping her presence would be enough to soothe him, but she made sure to keep a defensive stance. This was a battle after all. She nodded to Zidane and Vivi.
“Howdy boys. Good luck to you.”

His own partner Zidane didn't hesitate to make his way on stage that energetic excitement that the guy always had was so infectious. Vivi was...actually excited to fight...at least until he saw who the woman's partner was. The Black Waltz Three landed before them and his hatred for them practically oozed out of him in the form of tiny little coronas of electricity. The Waltz promised personally that he would relish in his victory but the way he said it was just so sinister. Vivi found his nerves returning.
Bewildered, large round yellow eyes turned their gaze toward his side and up to find his friend's much needed reassurance. His most trusted comrade. Practically his brother. If Zidane's confidence didn't waiver then Vivi would remain strong and brave too. Decisively the small caster balled his gloved fists up at his sides and he glowered at the Waltz. This tournament was supposed to be fun!

Reached out his hand to pat Vivi's back. He grinned and gave the boy a thumbsup, holding his blade's hilts tight in his hands. Leave it to Zidane to always be confident even in the face of fury! If he let a little temper get to him he wouldn't have traveled with Steiner! And compared to Beatrix? Waltz's temper was a summer's breeze. A little bit of burn, but nothing a good bit of shade couldn't handle. He grinned and looked to Rina than to Waltz. "Don't worry Vivi. But it looks like it might rain, what with all this lightning. I'm a bit jealous of your hat... Don't worry about it. Afterwards we can all go out drinking!" he patted the top of Vivi's head once more before dashing toward Waltz with unimaginable speed, enough that he would almost seem to blur. Zidane would make move to jump over Waltz and in that use Steal to swipe the mage's hat, or at the least: try. He would land behind the mage and make move to bootstomp the mage in his hindquarters to get him started. "What's wrong buddy? Not happy to see us? You're worse than Steiner during a reunion!" He would attempt to Annoy The older Black Mage, his temper a handy tool. Jump Boost: Raises Zidane's normal, vertical jump from 4m (15ft) to 6m (20ft) when not in trance. [Passive] Steal - 1 Cooldown Using his sneaky and speedy nature he attempts to steal his enemy's weapon. This action induces the Disable effect, making enemies unable to use their weapon's skills or abilities for a turn until the weapon is retrieved. Annoy - 4 Cooldown; 2 Post Duration A tactic which inflicts Trouble on an opponent for a 2 Post Duration. Trouble ensures that all, within the same allegiance (team or alignment) to the targeted individual, will feel he affects of their ally's pain and all party members will be forced to take a minor percent of the damage afflicted to their ally during time of their infliction. "Get out of my way! Do you dare fight a Black Waltz?" Zidane may have been fast, but he was hardly anything special to Black Waltz No. 3. That wasn't to say The Waltz had a hope in HELL of catching up with him. No, on the ground, the machine was likely slower than Rina at a jogging pace while he was going full speed but that wasn't what what mattered... No matter how fast this over-rated cut-purse, he could NOT be faster than instantaneous movement! ...Granted, Black Waltz 3 nearly completely missed the thief as he hopped over head, barely managing to disappear as the theif's fingers grazed the tip of his pointed hat... As he transcended the barriers between space and time, where everything lost it's color and motion, Waltz stared at Zidane as he hung in the air mid-flip, stepping forward so that his hat was no longer under threat of his grubby monkey paws. "How... how did he get so fast..." Waltz mused bitterly, enraged by the thief's spike in strength! "...He was nowhere THIS agile when we dueled on the cargo-ship!"He turned his attention over to Vivi, meekly standing beside the space where Zidane once had. "No matter... I shall destroy that THING first..." Walking through the seemingly stopped time, the Waltz slipped around Vivi... behind the child. No safer place to preform a surprise attack, after all. With the teleport complete, time seemed to flow again for the Black Waltz 3, but for the rest of the world, it all continued as normal! Zidane would discover that he who he had attempted to thieve from was gone... standing behind the creature he was foolish enough to treat as his little sibling. Vivi would also notice his superior counterpart had disappeared... well... except for the looming presence behind him... Darkness radiated from the creature, an aura of foggy purple and black tentacles that many had come to see as "evil". Fools... It was POWER! And with that power, came another... one that he'd only seen from this prototype... In a flash of dark light, the Machine was consumed, his shape warping, growing.... Until what stood behind Vivi was not just a Black Waltz... Trance Black Waltz 3! The air around him coagulated into shifting, swirling clouds, voltage dancing between them like a miniature cyclone, the air warping with the sheer magic radiating off the machine! He hovered just above the earth, the tile floor of the arena cracking beneath the pressure of his power... Without a word, the creature's free hand shot down at his smaller counterpart grabbing him by the back of his jacket/Robe, a wave of cold energy surging through his hand and completely overtaking Vivi instantly and entrapping hm in a prison of ice... that was if he'd managed to get a hold of him. It was then Zidane would throw a taunt his way, remarking how Waltz had a worse temper than "Steiner" after a reuinion! The mage tilted his head, confused and utterly enraged by his remark! His confusion was brought forth by "Steiner" person the monkey referenced... He had NO idea who that was or what significance it held to him... But whoever it was, he must've felt the same way Waltz did about this creature... An annoyance better served obliterated than whole! It was the thief's voice really... that was what got him... So childish and up-beat while the Waltz was here for nothing but their blood... Not being taken seriously... that ground his gears... The Waltz's eyes glowed with hate, but he didn't dare let go of Vivi (assuming he was frozen). A hostage would always serve him better in hand... Status Ailments: Trouble 2/2 posts Afflicted not by Zidane's insults... but his annoying VOICE! Trance Effects: All damage spells increase in potency by one level (Weak damage becomes medium, etc.). All spells (whether or not they only last for 1 turn) now last for an additional turn. Spells within the spell-line of Fire, Blizzard and Thunder gain the Third Degree, Frostbite and Overcharge effects respectively (deals 1 level less than base damage. Minimum light damage. Acts as a status effect. Lasts for 2 turns) instead of lasting for an additional turn. Lasts 4/4 posts. Cooldown: 5 posts
Teleport: Used to avoid 'Steal' and get behind Vivi. Lasts 1 post. Cooldown: 2 Posts
Freeze: Encapsulates Vivi in an icy shell, preventing him from taking action for 1 post (2 thanks to 'Trance'.) Lasts 2/2 posts. Cooldown: 3 posts@tag

Zidane’s taunts made Rina uncomfortable. Not because they meant anything to her, but because she knew they would infuriate Waltz. This was going to be a hard battle and not because her foes were formidable. It was because Waltz was, and she had the feeling she would have to keep him from killing their opponents. It’s just a game, Waltz…
Rina felt what was happening next, before it even happened. Just by the change in the atmosphere, Rina could tell that Waltz was about to Teleport. Waltz had teleported from her side and just behind Vivi, leaving Zidane in the middle of the opposing sides.
The young woman watched as her partner Tranced behind Vivi. The sight of Waltz like that still made her unsettled, scared. She could feel the power coming off of him in waves and could only imagine what he had in store for poor Vivi. However, it gave her an opening with Zidane. He was quick, so she would have to keep her wits about her.
She rushed up to Zidane, drawing her daggers into her hands. “Hi there.” She quickly slashed her left dagger forward. “We haven’t met yet. I’m Rina.” She jabbed her right dagger aiming for Zidane’s chest. A collapsed lung would hamper him for sure. “I take it you’ve met Waltz before.” Rina put a bit of space between them and raised her hand to the sky. “Lightning strike down!” Rina was aiming for Zidane, but she hoped she could get Vivi with that last attack.

Everything was moving oh so fast! He barely had time to register Zidane's reassurances, though going out to the taverns after the tournament did sound good. He could really go for a root beer. Zidane was talking about how annoying the lightning and rain would be, that he was jealous of Vivi's hat and the little mage moved his hands up to adjust it in confusion before registering that he was cracking one of his usual quick witted jokes. He was gonna take one for himself. He was just about to giggle when the Black Waltz made it very clear that he was not here to play any games. Vivi wondered what the waltz would have done if it hadn't been himself and Zidane that he and that pretty girl were faced with. Was he always just so mean? Hadn't he heard a word Vivi had said to him before the magic casting tournament?
Zidane was off like a shot and Vivi watched after him with wide glowing eyes as he jumped up, those sticky pilfering fingers of his very nearly managing to steal that giant pointy hat right off the waltz. It was the kick that made Vivi withdraw on himself a bit. No. He had to focus. He had just gotten out his oak staff and held it out in front of him, his glance flickering toward the young woman warily in case he'd need to defend himself. Even then he knew that wasn't quite right either. Cast spells. That's what he was here to do right? Right?
No sooner than beginning to speak had the Black Waltz 3 teleported directly behind him...in trance mode! Oh no! Vivi's attention snapped back behind his shoulder and he attempted to flail away but he was frozen solid mid-step! Come onnn! Think! He was internally chiding himself. How was this really any different from those walls in the ice caves he'd burned down so that Zidane could reach some of the hidden treasures within? It wasn't at all. All he needed was fire. Think fire! But it was just no use! The Black Waltz' spell was just too powerful and Vivi couldn't even shudder from the cold in that ice, couldn't even react to how painful it was.
Then the pretty lady was acting as well. She attacked Zidane and Vivi could only watch the slashing onslaught in wide-eyed wonder knowing full well that someone who wanted nothing more than to see him dead was hovering right behind him. The lady brought down lightning that crackled over the whole field and quite suddenly the ice that Vivi was encased in shattered on impact with her spread corona. He of course fell flat on his face shivering from the cold and the pain of the remaining sparks coursing through him but to his credit he did not run. He did not even scramble awkwardly away in fear. Vivi rolled onto his back and pointed his staff skyward calling forth a rip in the very space around his enemies casting a Demi spell.
From there it was everything he could do just to get that Black Waltz as far away from him as possible. In succession as he was trying to get to his feet he was waving his oak staff back and forth, to the right a casted Blizzara spell aimed for the waltz and to the left a Fira

Zidane had missed Waltz’s hat on the up and over, causing him to suck on his tooth in annoyance. The toe of his boot touched ground as the wizard vanished, teleporting to his little pal. He slid on the soles of his boots, blue eyes drifting toward the smallest boy, blue while he kept himself facing Rina. He wasn’t afraid for the little guy. It was not as if Vivi couldn’t handle himself, but it seemed he pissed the guy off plenty after a few well placed words. He wasn’t sure if the manic mage felt the boot to the butt, but he needn’t ponder overlong because Rina had promptly come forward to introduce herself with a swift motion of her blade. The rouge would look to defend himself from her strikethrough offense. He would shove his forearm up against her own to try and disable her action by using Mug to claim her weapon while using the whole of his body in the action to put force in what looked a simple steal action.
Lightning began to rain from above, striking all around. “Well, guess I was right! Nice to meetcha, but looks like we’ll have to save the small talk for after. Vivi! Light ‘em up with a blaze since they like playing with ice!”
Zidane was focused on his opponent, but that didn’t mean he was unaware of what was happening to his buddy. How long had they traveled together? Who knew the little guy better than him? He was quick and cunning. He knew how to use his resources. So Waltz thought he was the only one capable of moving across the field? The tailed rouge touched his pointer and middle finger to his forehead, saluting Rina. As much as he would have liked to have a chat with the cutie it seemed time to get serious about this. Right? Wrong. It was still a game and one Zidane was keen on winning at. With Waltz’s rage focused on Vivi that gave him the chance to get up close and personal. He winked at Rina and dashed toward the raging caster with surprising speed and distance. Clearing the gap the rouge only hoped Vivi got the message and with his buddy’s back up he pushed to tear into the tranced wizard.
“Let’s go!” He wanted it to rain? “Let’s bring on the storm!” While still off the ground after his Air Dash toward Waltz the tailed delinquent would slashed out the glimmering pink blade toward the villainous herald of death, rolling the whole of his body in a deadly, pinwheel spin. If the first flurry of bladed strikes failed he still had to contend with the final strike as the rogue came down from his aerial assault. He slammed his shimmering blades down with such force that it would be enough to knock back the wizard with the full brunt of his Storm Impulse. Zidane touched ground, holding his blades up, crossed, in front of him.
Mage Masher: Mage Mashers live up to their namesake and have the chance to inflict the Silence status on casters, disabling their ability to cast magic for a one post duration. This is a passive ability and has a 10% (above 90 on a d100 roll) chance of inflicting silence when the blades strike an enemy. Jump Boost: Raises Zidane's normal, vertical jump from 4m (15ft) to 6m (20ft) when not in trance. [Passive] Mug - 2 Cooldown Using that same sneaky, speedy nature he attempts steal his enemy's weapon while striking them for light to moderate damage. This ability induces the Disable effect, making enemy unable to use their weapon's skills or abilities for a turn until the weapon is retrieved. Air Dash - 1 Cooldown When facing an enemy the thief can push from the ground to the air in a high-speed Dash toward the target. This ability only works if the thief is on the ground. This ability can only target an enemy up to 3m (10ft) away. This ability does no damage and only draws the thief closer to their enemy, bringing him to a close quarter position. Storm Impulse - 3 Cooldown This attack can only be used midair. A rushing spin toward the opponent(s) strikes for heavy damage before knocking the opponent back. This attack can be used with either archetype of blade (Mage Mashers or The Ogre) and can be chain with Booster 8 as a combo attack. The attack strikes all surrounding foes, doing area effecting damage. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

"Get out of my way! Do you dare fight a Black Waltz?" Rina... She had to ruin it, did she not...? He did not require her HELP in this manner! He had everything under control and yet... she had to get involved with his own fight. Lightning that was not his own CRASHED down on the frozen mage he held in his palm, inadvertently zapping the machine's hand AND freeing Vivi in the process! With his claw smoking, his face contorted in annoyance more than anything else, stood over his smaller counterpart, leveling his staff down at the child... Vivi seemed almost frantic to cast a spell to get the Waltz away from him! The machine tilted his head... confused as the space between Vivi's palms began to warp and contort inward on a point, spiraling inward as it continued to grow larger and larger!
Alarmed, Black Waltz 3 would disappear once more, not the least bit interested in discovering the effects of such a spell! As the orb of warped space got larger, sapping away the energy of all who dared get close, weakening them greatly... Structures, the floor, they all seemed to erode into the warp in space-time the mage had created! Meanwhile... Rina would not be there either to take that smack to the face Zidane had attempted (though her daggers may very well be taken), both gone from the battle-field... At least, until the warp itself had disappeared itself. They would appear together once again at another end of the arena, stepping out of their own warp in space-time... He wasn't going to be able to keep this up for long... having them bounce around the field like this... He could feel his power begin to wane, his dark energy begin to fade... Soon... He would be out of juice... and they would be vulnerable.
With his plan in shambles, Black Waltz 3 shot Rina an annoyed glare, clearly frustrated that she had refused to read his moves! He had him RIGHT where he needed to be and she... Bah... whatever. With a disgruntled huff, he turned his eyes back towards their opponents, Zidane throwing himself through the air towards him... as did Vivi with his ice and fire! Vivi was faster in adjusting his aim than his friend was in attacking, a large fireball and icey blast headed his way! As both closed in, the mage disappeared once again, the sound of wings flapping above... Waltz hovered above the three of them, his arms crossed over his chest... Fearless. What he didn't count on, however... Was Zidane's ability to REALLY get around. He knew he was acrobatic... But not this acrobatic! Waltz's eyes widened in shock as Zidane SHOT towards him in a flurry of bladed death, the machine only having enough time to flap his wings to propel himself back, the monkey's first strike slicing at his chest before Waltz managed to teleport away!
As the machine traveled through spacetime, his hand shot to the cut across his jacket... It wasn't deep in the least... not even painful but... those blades... He could feel how they bit at his magic as much as his body, threatening to shut it all down! Even now, he was unsure if he was contaminated... Waltz lowered himself back down to the ground, hissing in frustration as he slipped up between Vivi and Zidane, time starting to flow again... It was at this point he waited for the monkey to fall from the air before he slammed the butt of his staff into the ground, a dark foggy mass beginning to eminate out across the floor from where the met the ground. It flowed across the floor, covering it completely as the thief touched the ground once more...
Dark vine-like tentacles would shoot up from the murk, latching onto Vivi's legs and arms, pulling him to the ground as they began to press against his body, sapping away his life! Meanwhile the same would happen to Zidane, except they wrapped about his torso and climbed up his back and shoulders too, determined to keep him grounded. Vivi would feel his mind begin to be contested within his own head, the words of the Waltz battling his own in an effort for control! His voice SCREAMED In his head, trying to force down Vivi's will...
While all this was going on, once this spell had been cast, Waltz would disappear once more, appearing before the thief. Just the mere presence of the Waltz sapped the light from him, beams of bright, warm energy that spawned from the heart... bleeding eyes down his cheeks like tears. Waltz would hold out his hand, almost as if offering it to the light, the energy flowing out into his palm, leaving only the darkness to consume Zidane's heart. As Rina watched the tomb of ice that had been surrounding Vivi break away into pieces, she glanced up to meet Waltz’s eyes for just a moment. The anger in them was enough for her to avert her gaze instantly. Oops…not what I wanted to happen. She returned her focus to Zidane. He had blocked her attacks and was coming forth seemingly to strike at her. Rina wasn’t fast enough to miss the attack and wasn’t prepared when Zidane took her daggers! “Hey those are mine!” As she stood there momentarily in shock she could also see the freed Vivi attempting to cast spells. A dark disturbance in the space around her seemed to be opening around her. She knew of this magic and prepared herself to feel it suck away at her health. The feeling never came though, because Waltz came to her rescue! The machine had scooped her up and teleported them away from the immediate fray. Rina could feel his aggravation coming off of him in waves. “W-waltz. I’m sorry! I didn’t mean for that to happen.” This wasn’t the right time for apologies though and Waltz teleported away, Zidane and Waltz hot on his heels. Rina watched as Zidane jumped into the air slashing at Waltz. It was then that Rina felt a sharp pain across her chest and a line of ripped fabric appeared on her shirt. This must have been Zidane’s doing. Any damage that Waltz sustained she sustained as well. Uh oh…that’s not good. It was fortuitous that they were protected by Teleportaga, but that wouldn’t always be the case. If the strike had wounded her it wouldn’t have been anything to worry about, but she was worried about any future attacks that may come their way. All it would take was one critical hit and both her AND Waltz would be down for the count. Rina watched as Waltz came back to the ground and used his magic to incapacitate the duo. It was really kind of frightening watching the vines come up to bind their competitors. It was times like this that Rina remembered that Waltz was dangerous and knew how to hurt people. Liked to hurt people… That last thought made a shiver rip through Rina’s spine and shake her our of her mind. She needed to stay focused! Now was her chance!
The girl rushed forward and summoned a large puddle of noxious sludge and fumes to appear underneath Zidane poisoning him and the air around him. Next, she turned towards the small Vivi and using her darkness made a slew of obsidian needles come hurtling towards him looking for a place to impale themselves.
Rina took a moment to think. They needed to gain an upper hand. Perhaps her next move would give them just that. Choosing Zidane as her target, Rina focused all of her dark energy onto him and casted "Goodbye Agony. Seemingly come from the air around them a flurry of lovely black feathers appeared and rushed onto the boy. Electricity crackled around Zidane shocking him into submission. ------------------------------------- ZIDANE IS STUNNED FROM "GOODBYE AGONY"

It didn't take long at all for Zidane to begin coaching and Vivi honestly appreciated it. It kept him more level headed and less distracted by the ferocious thing that was the Black Waltz 3. 'Light em up with a blaze' was basically his clue and he nodded dutifully turning toward his proclaimed brother and he'd tried to wave his oak staff, sparks of magic living at its end but poor Vivi was left desperately trying to follow Zidane's movements. "I...I Can't unless you hold still a second!" he warned. Vivi just wasn't that fast. It didn't matter though, he had a lot more to worry about because the waltz just teleported out of the range of all three of his spells! How could he DO that?! Vivi couldn't do anything like that! It almost stung to watch him and it wasn't as though Vivi had never seen the Waltz teleport before, but he just kept on doing it. It was like he could dodge anything thrown at him! He must have been thinking the same thing because Zidane's blade finally did manage to strike him! Vivi started a bit but realized that it was a terrible time for a victory cry and he refrained.
All the same, Zidane suggested to bring on the storm and Vivi realized he could totally do that! He lifted his staff but his gaze caught the evil stare of the waltz and he could just feel that horrible shift in the air that told him that a spell was headed right for him. Why wouldn't it be? His already wide yellow eyes blinked but he just didn't have time to contemplate. He tried to run, or leap, or spin or do anything that remotely resembled purposefully getting out of the way to Dodge but in the end of Vivi's little stag leap he ended up tripping up on the vines and falling flat on his face, the speed of his fall just enough to break the tiny vinelets that had just started to get their grasp. So much for the jump rope champion of Alexandria (even though Eiko would probably tell ya that she was.) So He was lucky it worked out that way because it put him just a few feet from where the majority of series of angry tentacles ravaged the ground. Even just in the moment they'd touched him he could feel the waltz' influence, hear his voice practically screaming his hate and his rage in his head. He could feel the strain to breathe, to think to function...but then again Vivi was always pretty prone to panicking. Just barely out of the water on that set of vines, Vivi tried to get his bearings looking desperately around. He caught only a glimpse of Zidane before several very sharp pricks sent him flying from where he was seated on the ground to his feet squawking in pain and confusion.
Upset and hurt and scared, he rose his staff to the heavens and he called down a Thundara spell to rain down on the flying black waltz. Oh how Vivi wished he wasn't his opponent, he'd ruined something that was supposed to be fun! If only he could get the Waltz to slow down! All this teleportation! Determined, Vivi focused hard on the Black Waltz. This had to work! He needed this to work. He pointed his staff toward the waltz and he cast Slow on him!
