Clopin, grinning from ear to ear once again waited in the plaza’s recently constructed Struggle Pit, Megaphone in hand. Hem was getting used to using the thing...afterall they didn’t exist in his world. ”Welcome back Ladies and Gentleman! Wasn't that exciting?” he greeted the gathering crowds once again. ”Are we all excited to see the next match!? Once again this is the first ever Struggle tournament I’ve had the privilege of hosting and I couldn't be more excited to be here! Could I please see Roxas and...and Invi in the pit?” His eyes fell on the blonde boy Roxas and he wondered idly if the boy had lost that friend of his. ”Please take your places so we may begin!” He jingled merrily away to leave the pit’s space open to the Strugglers.

In a calm motion, the Foreteller took her stance upon the Struggle Pit. Taking in her surroundings, Invi prepared herself for this little match. Since this was a festival, it was all just fun and games, so she was hoping to have a little spar with the opponent. Looking over at the blonde boy, she stood still for a few moments. Somewhere she believed she had seen someone that resembled the boy, but the name was not familiar at all. Interesting, her stance shifted as she prepared herself.
In case of an attack, Invi guarded herself first and foremost. Thus to cancel out any initial attacks from the opponent before she would step forward. Even if an attack came, it would not halt her or make her drop any of her orbs. The orbs were important in this game after all. Since they were starting with fifteen each, it meant a total of thirty orbs in this match. Only three hitting strikes could take away them all easily. It was best to keep her guard when possible, but allowing some hits would work. Especially since she wouldn't get anywhere by just guarding.
As she moved forward, Invi took the chance to strike at Roxas. Even if it would leave her open, the only way of being open was if the boy would respond in an offensive manner as well. It just allowed the orbs to scatter the field for the moment. From that first strike, she continued as she tried a second strike in a combo fashion. Hopefully this would put the blonde boy on the back foot.
Considering she pulled out two strikes quickly, even if assaulted, this would possibly allow some orbs to scatter as the cloaked woman seemed to float slightly above the ground as she tried to collect any scattered orbs. Of course, this left her open once more, but at least she could obtain the majority of the orbs already on the floor.
Landing on her feet, she swiftly moved her struggle bat back up in defense, but this time she did a parry for an incoming attack. This would at least lessen some of the assault as she moved from the parry back into a guard to finish. Switching between defense and offense were the most important keys that would aid her to victory. She smiled amused.

His opponent, Invi apparently, was a woman with an almost entirely veiled countenance. A pale shawl of thick silken fabric swathed her head and torso, embodied with bands of gold and turquoise gems that hung from it like beads of dew. A similarly embellished vest that parted into an ankle length gown reminded Roxas of windswept thickets of lavender, or the soft lividity that comes over the sky at evening. Above a small subdued nose, the sole bare feature of Invi’s face, Was a mask that evoked a serpent cast in silver. Its flared hood of sapphires and a darker metal Roxas didn’t recognize formed a sort of visor over her eyes. A sterling tail curled down across her cheek, mimicking where a stray lock of hang might’ve been. Though there were plenty of masks on display here at the festival, the totemic iconography nevertheless seemed out of place somehow, though Roxas couldn’t put a finger on why.
Yet, and even stranger then the exotic was the peculiar disquiet her entire semblance evinced in Roxas. Too seasoned a Struggler and adventurer to be wigged out by dramatic costumery, the keyblader nevertheless was seized by uncharacteristic hesitation. There was a marrow-deep ache, yearning for a impossibly distant dawn. Heartbreak echoed through the amnesiac hollows of Roxas like a prayer lost within the eves of a darkened cathedral, a requiem for a paradise centuries lost. “H-Hey there ma’am,” he managed, trying to get his head back in the game. “Good game Miss Invi.” Normally Roxas would’ve offered a handshake along with the well-wishes, but it would’ve been kinna presumptuous to touch a …
Wait…a what?
But Roxas’ heart was silent on the matter as he and the stranger circled each other in the pit, bats leaned at a cautious guarded angle. Eventually the gnawing feeling that he’d needed to tell Invi something, that there’d been a grave mistake, a tragedy, something none’d foreseen became nigh unbearable. Tired of scrapping among the cobwebs within his skull for meaning in what was probably way to much pre-game punch, Roxas sprinted across the pit to break the stalemate.
But Invi was already there! The former thirteen prided himself on alacrity, it was really his own chance when facing down folks big enough to use him as a soccer ball. Invi’s bat nevertheless struck him right on the shoulder before he’d even begun to swing. Red orbs tumbled out onto the pit floor, along with maybe more then a little of Roxas’ pride.
Woah ok, snake in a dress here was no joke.
Putting a foot down to bring his momentum into a sharp curve, Roxas swung with a strike of his own. The visceral satisfaction of impact and clatter of blue orbs on pinewood proved short-lived as Invi followed through with movements that possessed a martial grace a fellow swordsman recognized. A thrust down on the chest, and Roxas was deep in sphere deficit. The ambidextrous boy switched hands and center of gravity with his retaliatory strike before disengaging.
Roxas’ warily watched Invi levitate as he crouched to collect fallen spheres up into his arms. Whatever was with his head right now, it needed to stop right the hell now. Maybe he was still shook up after meeting Axel? Probably. Roxas and Invi returned to their circling circumspection, as the boy shifting form parry to parry, trying to unsuccessfully to get his brain in the Zone.

What a spritely pair! From guard to vicious strikes in the blink of an eye, ORBS flew EVERYWHERE. It was glorious and a real crowd pleaser! Both strugglers nearly lost all thier ORBS in that face off and so both found themselves desperately collecting what they could gain back. They were of course both a bit a bit more cautious after that. These were some very matched battlers!
Invi: GUARD (Does nothing, No attack made by Roxas)
STRIKE (Full strike is made against Roxas only to Leave Invi open to a Strike as well. Invi Drops 5 ORBS 10/15)
STRIKE (Full strike is made against Roxas only to Leave Invi open to a Strike as well. Invi Drops 5 ORBS 5/15)
COLLECT (20 ORBS are on the field. Invi collects 8. 13/15)
PARRY (Does nothing. No Attack made.)
GUARD (Does nothing. No Attack made.)
Roxas: GUARD (Does nothing, no Attack Made by Invi)
STRIKE (Full strike is made against Invi only to leave Roxas open to a Strike as well. Roxas Drops 5 ORBS 10/15)
STRIKE (Full strike is made against Invi only to leave Roxas open to a Strike as well. Roxas Drops 5 ORBS 5/15)
COLLECT (12 ORBS are on the field. Roxas collects 8. 13/15)
PARRY (Does nothing. No Attack made.)

The last round didn’t go as well as he’d hoped. Could’ve been worse yeah, but ….
C’mon, HOW was he only able to score scratch against a lady in a freakin dress and shawl. This was embarrassing. Could she even see in that thing? He couldn’t see any eyeholes. Was it tinted or something? Also how could Invi possibly remind him of someone, (someone…he failed …maybe?) if he couldn’t even see her face!
Woah, ok. Need to calm down here.
…seeing Axel again had been all he’d ever wanted, but then…why was he so stressed out now?
“Hey, you’re really good,” Roxas admitted with a grin as he settled into a parrying stance. Gotta always give credit where its due, even if said credit-worthiness is making you look bad. A shift of the shoulders brought the bat into two hands and Roxas lunged forward into a leap, trying to bring down an aerial foamy strike. Remembering how quick Snake-Lady’d been before, Roxas crouched down into a parrying retreat as he tried create some distance between them.
“You do this a lot?” Roxas inquired as he backed up, guarding against a retaliatory charge. Huh, that question was probably was more then he wanted to know. What if she was just a walk-on? Ouch. Having hopefully given himself some breathing room, Roxas tried to collect as many orbs as possible without taking his eyes off Invi, before jumping back up into a defensive guard to try and fend off any opportunistic walloping.

In her observation, Invi felt like the other had something on his mind. It bothered her a bit, perhaps there was something wrong. Still, she didn't wish to interrupt the festival just for matters that... may no longer be of importance. Honestly, she wasn't entirely sure to start with. The many questions started to slide through her head, but she quickly suppressed them. Right now this little match came first. There was always a chance to pull the boy to the side later.
"Thank you," she said with a light smile under the shawl. Her voice fairly amused, but calm. Right after she leapt forward as she took the chance for a strike upon the opponent. There was a feeling this little round was somewhat different. Honestly, she hadn't expected that they were going to make the same decisions around the same time constantly. So she had now opted to become a little more aggressive in her approach. Moving back, the Foreteller took a parrying stance to minimize as much damage that could be done to herself. From there she slowly started to approach again before shifting around to collect the orbs.
Right after the collecting 'phase', Invi returned to now a guarding position. "Not exactly, I would've thought Master would be interested in this sort of thing. I bet he'd enjoy himself greatly," she replied calm, wondering if the Master was by any chance watching from somewhere. She was always meant to be the one observing, but she had a feeling she had been observed just as much if not more...
From the guard, Invi jumped forward again as she took a chance to strike at Roxas. "And you? You do seem to have a good idea how to play the field," she returned to the other before moving to collect again. Just trying to keep the chat running a little, but again she didn't want to bore the crowd with talk.

Roxas may have pushed forward first, but Invi seemed to be able to anticipate it all! A tactical round from Invi cost Roxas a great deal of ORBS it seems and with nothing for Roxas to pick back up. Can he make a come back in the final round?
Roxas: Parry (Invi’s strike is Parried! Roxas drops 2 ORBS 11/15)
Strike (Roxas’ strike is Parried! Roxas drops 3 ORBS 8/15)
Parry (Does Nothing No Attack is made)
Guard (Does Nothing, No Attack was made)
Collect (6 ORBS are on the field. Roxas collects 6. 14/15 Roxas was open for attack and was struck! Roxas drops 5 ORBS 9/15)
Guard (Does nothing. No Attack made.)
Invi: Strike (Invi’s Strike is Parried! Invi drops 3 ORBS 10/15)
Parry (Roxas’ Strike is Parried! Invi drops 2 ORBS 8/15)
Collect (14 ORBS are on the field. Invi collects 8. 16/15)
Guard (Does Nothing, Roxas made no attack)
Strike (Roxas was open for attack, Strike hits.)
Collect (5 ORBS are on the field. Invi collects 5. 21/15)
GO!

Slowly she moved forward again, quite amused with how things have been going before Invi took a quick dash and swing at Roxas for another strike at him. "It had truly been a fun match," she said with a light smile while backing away and around Roxas while trying to collect more orbs. Right after she took a stance to parry any incoming strikes. She had good fun with this game, she had a feeling Master had been around, but she wasn't entirely sure. It seemed best to try and look around after this match had been finished.
Since her thoughts were flowing a little, Invi took on a strong guard to handle anything Roxas might throw at her. She didn't want to seem too distracted. There was also still the matter of how he resembled... someone. "I believe it's about time we finished this," she continued while she started to move again as she wanted to collect any more orbs that might be present.
From there she took a leap forward as she tried to strike at Roxas. "Maybe we can play again some time," she wanted to ask if he had time to chat after as well, but left it out for now. It was probably for the best to not worry him over such things for the moment.

Roxas met Invi’s advance with a charge of his own. He dove low, attempting a slide strike at her legs. He was behind. There no point in holding back, trying be cautious. Honestly, that suited Roxas just fine. All In was the only ‘strategy’ he’d ever been any good at.
The satisfying womp of nerf on knees was muffled by a firm buffet on his head, and dull roll of his orbs across the platform. UGH, too slow! Yet, when Invi noted the match had been fun, Roxas couldn’t help but agree. “Same here.” Springing to his feet, Roxas’ sprint devoured the distance Invi’d been trying to create to give herself some breathing room. Roxas took the opportunity lay down a strike into that opening and collect some orbs of his own when the cowled combatant shifted stances.
Invi echoed his own thoughts, noting it about time to bring this thing to a close. The boy nodded, “Yeah, lets.”
Thinking he’d seen a flaw in his opponents footwork, Roxas was proven wrong when his surge forward to strike was met by a firm cross-brace. Struggling to not lose momentum, he kept up the pressure, sending strikes down as Invi tried to make her lead insurmountable with some last minute orbs. The tables turned however when Roxas tried to recollect some spoils right before the bell and Invi was having none of it, nerf bat chastising his shoulder and undoing some of his hard work.
Her suggestion for a re-match sometime was followed by the clanging of the round bell.
Roxas grinned, forearm rubbing sweat from his temples, haunting recollections forgotten in the adrenal rush of a close match.
“Yeah, I’d like that!”

Roxas really brought his best! The two strugglers were on eachother's heels right until the end but that final strike from Invi was enough to secure her the win! What an exciting battle! "I cannot wait to see the final match! Stick around folks!"
Invi: Strike (Invi strikes at Roxas and is struck simultaneously dropping 5 ORBs 16/15)
Collect (There are 10 ORBs on the field and Invi collects 8 of them but is struck dropping 5 of them. 19/15)
Parry (Does Nothing No Attack is made)
Guard (Invi successfully guards an oncoming strike from Roxas.)
Collect (There are no ORBS on the field and Invi is struck dropping 5 ORBs. 14/15)
Strike (Struck Roxas successfully. )
Roxas: Strike (Roxas strikes successfully but is struck simultaneously dropping 5 ORBs. 4/15)
Strike (Roxas strikes Invi successfully.)
Collect (7 ORBS are on the field. Roxas collects them. 11/15)
Strike (Roxas' strike is guarded.)
Strike (Roxas strikes succesfully.)
Collect (5 ORBS are on the field. Roxas collects them but was struck dropping 5. 11/15)
Final Results:
Invi wins the match with 3 more ORBs than the opponent!!!
