Personality:
Lunafreya is a compassionate, gentle-spirited young woman filled with a sense of duty and honor in her responsibilities as the Oracle and as the promised Betrothed to one she trusts most, Noctis Caelum; She is willing to do everything she can to help him, his friends, and the people of Eos. Though she is the youngest Oracle in history, Lunafreya has a sense of honor, duty, and compassion beyond her young years. She welcomes those who seek her out, and will travel to give aid to those who need help but cannot come to her. She is polite, tactful, but also intuitive and known to act on said intuition, taking the initiative.
She is empathetic and selfless, putting her own safety, needs, and health after others’. Her actions and decisions are usually tempered with reason and logic, and her loyalty and bearing the weight of responsibility is unwavering.
Her heart, while completely devoted to the people of Eos, wholly and truly belongs to Noctis. Though they may not be able to exchange their feelings aloud in person, and each is carrying the responsibilities and duties of their roles, Luna has always held a special regard for Noctis, and her love for him and her willingness to do whatever she can to aid him will never cease. She loves him irrevocably and eternally, and she tries to make this well-known to Noctis.
While Lunafreya is compassionate with humans, she is also quite fond of animals, especially Pryna and Umbra, and when she has spare time aside from duties, Luna escapes to her Sylleblossom garden, a special place she grew as a sort of resting place, a sanctuary.
Being an Oracle, Luna can communicate with the Astral Gods, and even intercede with them for aid on behalf of a rare few, though it is up to the Astrals whether they acquiesce or even answer. Communing with the Astrals drains Luna, however, and can even come to the point of making her ill, sick, weak, and could eventually kill her if overused. She will bear this wearing down with strong resolve, only resting when she absolutely must. This not an issue of pride, it's that she doesn't want anyone who needs her to go without her aid unless she is completely indisposed or made to rest.
Likes:
* Sylleblossoms
* Helping people
* Animals (especially her dogs, Pryna and Umbra)
* The ocean, nature, fireflies.
Dislikes:
* Darkness
* People suffering
* Those who care nothing about the lives of others or their wellbeing.
History:
Born to Everard and Sylva in early September, Lunafreya was the second child in her generation of the royal family, her older brother Ravus having arrived 4 years prior. She had a rather uneventful infanthood, and through early childhood Luna's family and Noctis's family were close allies. Luna and Noctis shared many moments together, their companionship held special regard for Luna; having been visited at the age of 4 by Gentiana, the High Messenger of the Astrals, when Noctis was born, and during this visit Gentiana explained to Luna that the young princess and the newborn prince's destinies were intertwined. Luna spent more time with Noctis through many a year of their childhood, the memories of which are cherished and beloved, and they had even more time together when Noctis was recovering from a nightmarish encounter with a Marilith daemon, and Luna watched over him and kept him occupied with stories about the sylleblossoms' royal use, and the Astrals and such.
The future may have been filled with promise of prosperity and joy, but it was not to be. Tenebrae was invaded by the Niflheim Empire before Luna was 13, and many people were killed, including Luna's very own mother, Queen Sylva. Noctis was taken away by his father, Regis, who fled from Tenebrae back to his home; though he was willing to take Luna with them, Luna chose to stay behind with her brother. Ravus and Luna were taken into Niflheim custody, and the years that followed were rather dark and miserable.
Fast forward 3 years, and Luna is now the youngest Oracle in history, at age 16, (having entered into an agreement with Gentiana, whose true identity as Shiva is revealed to the then-13 year old Luna) and allowed to fulfill her duties under the watchful eye of Niflheim guards. She comes to know Prompto via Pryna, as the dog went missing while Luna was secretly visiting Noctis in Insomnia. Prompto had bound up an injured paw the dog had obtained, and the dog had returned to Luna with a note that bore Prompto's name. Luna responded to him with gratitude for saving Pryna and thanking him for being a good friend to Noctis, as she presumed he was.
Jump forward again and Luna is betrothed to Noctis as part of peace treaty agreements between Niflheim and Lucis; she fervently and publicly supports this union and assures everyone that this event will not keep her from her Oracle work, but that for a brief time she will not be traveling as she would be preparing for the wedding and peace treaty signing. (It is during this time that Regis attempted to have Luna secretly escorted to Altissia by Crowe and their attempt to leave was discovered by Ravus and Imperial guards, resulting in Crowe’s demise (unknown to Luna) and Luna being forced back to her quarters.) Nyx escorted Lunafreya to the Citadel for the treaty signing, and supposedly the world would be right again.
However the signing did not happen, as Regis was betrayed and murdered by the Niflheim leader and Insomnia was invaded, with Luna held prisoner aboard one of the many airships in the invading fleet. She escapes with Nyx's help, and though Nyx is reluctant, accompanies her back to the throne room to find Regis. He is fighting with Glauca, and in their battle he loses the Ring of the Lucii, his family's special, powerful ancient heirloom. Ravus puts it on but is rejected by the Ring and is burned rather terribly. Regis manages to retrieve the ring and takes an escape route with Nyx and Luna. However, when he realizes they cannot escape together, he asks Nyx to protect Luna and gives Luna the Lucian Ring to pass on to Noctis. Luna was unwilling to flee and leave Regis, but she was given no alternative and was escorted from the now-warzone with the Ring of Lucii as Regis was struck down. After several harrowing encounters, one of which resulted in Nyx putting on the Ring, and being found worthy to gain the powers of the past Kings of Lucis, he gives the Ring back to Luna, saying he will stay to fight Glauca. She was escorted from the city by Libertus under orders from Nyx, and she blends in with fleeing refugees to escape to the city's limits, where Gentiana, Pryna, and Umbra meet her.
Missing and presumed dead in the aftermath of the invasion, Luna sought out a safe haven, and virtually remained 'lost' for a little while. She went underground, letting only a rare few trusted people know she was indeed alive; Noctis was one of these, her message delivered to him by Umbra. When Noctis encounters the gods of Eos, known as Astrals, Luna appears to him in a vision, explaining that her mission is to awaken The Six (Astrals) and commune with them on behalf of Noctis, to seek their favor and ask them to allow Noctis to enter into covenants with them and gain their powers to save Eos.
During this time, Ravus helped Luna escape back home to Tenebrae, despite his position as High Commander of the Niflheim army (and orders to capture her), and spoke with her in a special place, a Sylleblossom field, to voice his concerns and disapproval of her deteriorating health; communing with the Astrals was taking a heavy toll on Luna, and she was becoming more and more ill as she continued to do so. She listened to Ravus' imploring to stop sacrificing herself for Noctis and his mission, but she argues that it is her decision and that Noctis would indeed fulfill his duties and the Prophecy to become the King of Light. After Ravus leaves, Luna is overcome by sadness that her and her brother's carefree days of childhood were stolen away, and mourns that all she can see is darkness ahead of them. She also acknowledges that the way she dreams of how she and Noctis would live together will never be able to come to reality, and this causes her immense grief and heartbreak. Gentiana comes to her, however, and assures the young Oracle that she (Gentiana) will ensure Noctis knows the truth and magnitude of Luna's feelings for him, in time.
Luna heads to Altissia, (formerly the place where Noctis and Luna's wedding was to take place), where she knows Leviathan, the sea goddess, resides. Though the Niflheim army wants her turned over to them, the local government gives her sanctuary; she meets Ravus who is also in Altissia, and she asks of him a favor: to take the Ring of Lucii to Noctis in her place. He tells her he cannot, as this is a mission she must see through. She laments, confiding to her brother that her health is failing, and she is not sure she can go on. He comforts her, placing the Ring in her hand and telling her she can find the strength, even if she doesn't think she has any left; that her willpower is stronger than defeat or giving up.
After Noctis arrives, and the first secretary of Altissia is persuaded to allow Luna to perform the ceremony that will awaken Leviathan, Luna composes herself and draws upon her inner strength to prepare for the ritual; She receives the Trident of the Oracles, and as she moves to take her position and address the people who have gathered, Niflheim soldiers appear with weapons drawn. However, she simply brushes their weapons aside and continues, giving a speech in which she explains to those present about the darkness that is seeking to blot out the light of all Eos, and that she is here to perform a rite of summoning. Her performance of the awakening is interrupted when the Niflheim empire attacks, and Leviathan becomes enraged; Luna calls to the goddess but is unheard. In the chaos, Luna is accosted and dealt a fatal wound by Ardyn Izunia, and she grasps his arm as she staggers; her Oracle powers activate when she touches him, as darkness is within him. He pushes her aside, and is gone. Luna knows Leviathan's rampage must be stopped, and uses the Trident to call forth the power of the Kings of Old, as it is revealed the Trident is one of the Thirteen Royal Arms, to aid Noctis. With the power of the kings, Noctis fights Leviathan, wounding her. Titan also appears, to battle Leviathan, and Luna shields Noctis from an ensuing tidal wave created by the Astrals' fight.
Luna is consumed by the Astral energy, but in a dreamscape she passes the Ring to Noctis and promises she will always watch after him. She and Noctis are found by Ignis and Ravus, and Ravus is at first enraged by Luna's fading life, but then laments that he had only wished her to be happy and live a free life; she passes on, and her spirit momentarily appears to her brother after her physical form transformed into light and scattered. He pleads for her to stay, but she cannot, and fades away. She is declared dead, but there is no body to be found. Ravus knows her spirit will not rest until the prophecy is completed.
She appears momentarily to Noctis when Gentiana reveals her true nature to Noctis and tells him about Luna's hopes and dreams for them, and the depth of Luna's feelings for him. Sadly, she disappears when he reaches out to her. She comes to him again when he returns to Insomnia, and briefly is able to lend him her aid in collaboration with the kings of Old when Noctis fight Ardyn and moves to strike the final blow. She and Noctis are shown before the Lucian throne, Luna in her wedding dress, as King Regis thanks her for helping his son, and congratulates them for saving Eos.
[The Astrals must have taken consideration and compassion on the two young heroes, as it is believed the Six are the reason Luna, and hopefully, Noctis, has returned to the living world. Luna was discovered in a strange World, unconscious, and has been asleep in a medical facility for some time.]

She could hear whispering, voices both human and of the astral plane, but were they calling to her, or were they simply surrounding her, in the silence she had found herself in. It was very strange, to find herself in this half-quiet surrounded by the whispering voices. Some of them she knew, others, quieter, were those who called out anew to her. Oracle, Lady, hear us, protect us, watch over us.. they whispered. Prayers, pleas, and questions. And then there were those she had sought to commune with, for Noctis's aid. They too, whispered, but it was not in her physical hearing; they were speaking in her mind.
In her current sleeping state, she could not concentrate to make sense of the astral voices' words. She had been so tired, so profusely exhausted to her very core, as everything had taken a very physical toll on her. She was resting now, that was enough for her. Noctis was beside her, she knew without opening her eyes; she could feel his presence. Worn out, they had both come to a place of rest, and she did not want to leave this state of absolute peace and tranquility. However, the whispering continued, and the new words began piecing together in her mind. She was needed.. She needed to awaken, to rise from her sleep and attend to the duties requiring fulfillment as the Oracle. She could not simply lie here, and so she would not.
With a deep breath, Luna opened her eyes, and stared at the ceiling as the voices faded into nothing, no longer could she hear them. It was with a strong sense of growing confusion that she slowly came to full consciousness and awareness, sitting up rather quickly to survey her unknown and stark surroundings. Everything was clean, very clean, white bed, sheets, blankets, with steel railings and a panel of buttons and blinking lights and noises. Where was Noctis? And where was this place? She did not have any recognition or memory of where she was. How had this come to be? What had taken place, here?
A white plastic thing was on her finger, she pulled it off with slight effort and almost immediately a series of beeps and noises sounded, and they jangled with an alarming and caucophonous racket in her ears, adding to a growing headache. Struggling to get out of the tightly-tucked sheets and blankets,
Luna called out uncertainly, hoping someone she knew would hear her.
"Hello? Someone, please? I have to get out of here, there are duties I must attend to, people I need to help! "
