Snow, yet again, found himself walking through the busy atmosphere of Radiant Garden. As his heavy boots walked their way through the cobblestoned streets, he reminisced, looking back at how he dropped from the sky into this new universe. His future was uncertain and he was unsure if he would ever find his way back to Serah and his friends. The Snow back then was brash, confident, and his outlook on life was bright and positive. Although Snow often thought with his gut back then, Snow always did his best to come through. However, the events that have taken place in Snow’s life really shocked Snow and shook him to his very core. There was a point in time that his dear wife, Serah, was dead and Chaos had taken over his world. The timeline had been warped and Snow had been forced to live 500 years in pain and suffering. Unable to die from old age because of the Chaos that ran rampant in his world…unable to live because he felt that he had failed and broken every single promise that he had ever made to Serah and all whom he called friend. It took divine intervention that came in the form of his dear sister-in-law Lightning to get Snow’s mind out of dumps and back looking on the positive again. Snow owed a lot to Lightning; if it wasn’t for her, Serah wouldn’t have been revived and Snow wouldn’t even know where he would be. However, when all of that ended…Snow took a good look at himself.
Snow, since then, has settled down. Snow is not as overly optimistic as he used to be but he wasn’t anywhere near where he was when he was suffering and mourning the death of Serah. Snow has come around to being a thoughtful man, he has learned to use his head more often and he has come to learn how to think things through before he acts. His spirit might not have been as hot-blooded as before…but it was now stronger than it has ever been before. Snow’s feet had taken him into the Bailey, just a few paces beyond the entrance to the Bailey, in the midst of Snow’s thoughts. Snow looked around to see where he was. He brought himself to lean against one of the stone walls and he looked out toward Villain’s Vale. Snow had forgiven himself for the mistakes that he made and the promises that he broke, but he hasn’t forgotten them. Snow dug into his right pocket and took out his NORA necklace.
As he stared into the sterling silver necklace, he remembered his dear friends: Gadot, Lebreau, Yuj, and Maqui. Snow remembered telling them and the rest of the NORA army that they were going to change the world and that they were going to be heroes. Who knew where they were now? Snow missed them to death, he loved them. He grew up with Gadot and Lebreau in one of the Sanctum Facilities, due to them being orphans. They set out to make something out of themselves and they created NORA, a paramilitary troop focused on protecting their town and from there Snow met Yuj and Maqui. Snow, Gadot, Yuj, Lebreau, and Maqui always knew that NORA could be something more and they worked themselves to the bone to achieve that dream, to become heroes and a beacon of light for others to follow. Snow smiled lightly at his NORA necklace, believing in the possibility that since Lightning, Snow, Serah, and their friends fought to make a new world and since Lightning helped the souls that were in their decaying world move on to the new one; perhaps he would run into his old friends again. They could even start up NORA again. It was then that suddenly, his necklace started to glow. Snow was confused and, of course, surprised when a white flash went off in his face. It was then, that he found himself in very familiar surroundings. He looked to his left and right frantically and saw…that he was in the Archylte Steppe or rather the Dead Dunes. Snow was confused and shocked. He couldn’t believe it. Lightning, Snow and the others did away with the despotic deity and brought about the birth of a new world. Why, or rather, how could Nova Chrysalia still exist? This didn’t make any sense at all. Snow ran forward a little bit, wondering if it was all an illusion. It was then that a sick and loud snarl interrupted Snow’s train of thought. Snow looked up to 15 Neoshadows emerge from pools and puddles of darkness in the ground. Snow sighed and stuffed the NORA necklace back into his pocket. Snow then silently got into his fighting stance; left foot in front of the right foot with his hands up. Snow knew very well that if he was going to start making up for broken promises, or even begin to figure out how or why he was here, or how Nova Chrysalia still existed, he couldn’t let a group of cannon fodder slow him down, especially if they managed to find their way into his own world...

| Just a few seconds prior, Dieter had been standing within the Helios Ambition Clan Hall, dutifully reviewing posted requests on the Marked Hunt Board. Lately, it’d seemed that they’d been receiving more and more requests that originated from other worlds. Not that the Dark Knight minded, in fact, he’d welcomed the chance to explore the vast universe – it’d aided in his pursuit of Belias. Not to mention, Syel seemed content with her research, Ysera periodically mentioned her progress towards either purchasing or refurbishing an air ship. That of course left the newest addition of their clan, Cassialyn, whom he’d normally kept preoccupied with lesson after lesson in hopes of imbuing her with a survivalist mind set. What was he working towards? What did he dream of? Aside from reuniting with his Lord, he’d desired nothing more than to establish and Orphanage or perhaps an Academy for those in Low Town – he genuinely wanted the best for them.
He was torn from his thoughts when he’d noticed a new request, unlike the others’ this one called to him. Not just metaphorically, its’ script glowed softly beckoning him to touch the sheet. When he extended his hand outwards, his fingers brushing against the request something unexpected occurred. Suddenly, the world around him went white, he’d felt weightless and was bombarded by a soft, feminine whisper.
“Please, Complete my Focus.”
It said nothing more than, repeating itself fervently until it’d had become a rhythmic chant. Before he could reply, the whiteness that had surrounded him began to dissipate and he instead found himself surrounded by the whirling sands. The gritty particles stung his flesh as they’d whipped by, forcing him to grit his teeth in annoyance as he’d attempted to shield his eyes. Only a handful of feet away from his current location was Snow, whom was in the midst of preparing to engage an armada of Neoshadows. He could hear their decrepit chittering, his blood running cold in his veins as he’d let his arm drop and reached behind his back. His fingers curled around the hilt of his blade, savoring the familiarity of the worn-leather that pressed against his calluses.
“Were you the one that called me? What is a Focus?”
He’d pondered to himself, certain that Snow couldn’t hear him over the roar of a nearby sandstorm. His unoccupied hand extended in the direction of one of the Neoshadows, his lips parted as he’d rapidly recited a memorized incantation
“"Destruction of nature, gather in flame! Fire!”
The moment that the last word left his lips, a sudden cone of fire exploded outwards from his hand and threatened to consume one of the Neoshadows. It wouldn’t do much damage but it would probably draw its’ attention for a few moments at least.

Snow knew this was going to be a trudge. It was fifteen Neoshadows that Snow had the inconvenient pleasure of running into and although they were easy to dispatch for the most part, it wasn’t something that could be done in just a few seconds. Neoshadows were opportunistic and shrewd. They were smarter than the average Heartless, and even though that wasn’t by much, it was certainly something to take notice off. Snow stepped back slowly, knowing full well that he was on the defensive given the fact that he was outnumbered to say the least, but Snow has faced far worse and come out on top. All in all, this bout should be no problem for Snow. It was then that one Neoshadow had become bold; this Neoshadow made a move for Snow. The Neoshadow dashed forward to attack the tall, blond, and burly hero but then the grunt of darkness was effectively thrown back by a blast of fire magic that came from a being that stood behind Snow to protect him from the Neoshadow. Snow immediately snapped his vision over to the figure that lent his timely assistance as the Neoshadow cringed in pain, disturbing and worrying the rest of Neoshadows, and striking fear into them.
Snow examined the being that helped him. This being appeared human; this person wore a long white robe. He seemed to wield a two-handed sword. Every sword Snow saw immediately reminded him of Lightning; he really missed his friends. Snow smirked lightly at the individual. Snow was sure that he could handle the Heartless that appeared before him, but it wasn’t like Snow was going to turn down help. The Neoshadows were beginning to back away; frightened at the sudden change of atmosphere that had been brought about by the being that fired his magic at one of their “comrades”. They begin to shriek, cry, and roar in defiance and fright. Snow walked over to stand beside the one that came to help. He turned to him and nodded at him, thanking the person silently for the assistance that had been offered by him. Snow then turned to face his enemies. Snow narrowed his eyes at the group of dark monsters before them. So, this would mean that the group would be split in between Snow and the one that had come to aid him. Snow raised an eyebrow at the person that had come to help; it was time for them to end this little “party”...
”Thanks for the help. There’s fifteen of 'em, what do you say we wrap this up, huh? I’ll take seven and you take seven. The first one done can take the last. That cool with ya?”
Although, Snow asked for the person’s “opinion”, he didn’t really wait. No strategy was needed; Neoshadows were child’s play, nothing more than that. Snow then went ahead and charged at the group of Neoshadows from the left. Snow gave a hard right roundhouse punch to one Neoshadow that was in front of him, knocking it into the air, causing it to evaporate and burst in the air, effectively killing it. He then turned to his left and gave a spinning hook kick to one of the Neoshadows that tried to jump at him, having his big and heavy boot meet with the face of the Neoshadow that tried to attack him. He then ran forward to the Neoshadow that he kicked and to finish it off, he gave a punishing front thrust kick to make it disappear… This was going to be easy. However, the real question was…who’s side was the being that helped Snow really on?

These are different from the Dark Ones on that’ve appeared on Ivalice , The Dark Knight thought to himself as he’d watched his plume of flames slam into the charging Neoshadow. His lips tightened into a scowl, unpleasantly surprised by the fact it didn’t dissipate into nothingness like its’ comrades did when defeated. The lean muscles that lined his right arm contracted abruptly, his grip on the hilt of his blade tightened as he unsheathed it. He’d let the tip of his blade plunge into the shifting sands while he’d surveyed the remaining Neoshadows, uncertain of which would be his next victim. Without a singular word, he’d daringly made his way closer to Snow.
Is he part Gigas?, Dieter thought to himself with a chuckle, unable to rationalize Snows’ towering stature – despite knowing that Sabin possessed a similar build. He wasn’t given the opportunity to dwell on such thought as Snow sauntered over in his direction, evidently, unperturbed by the Neoshadow’s incessant shrieks, cries, and defiant roars. He doesn’t think of them as a threat? Dieter deduced from Snow’s laidback demeanor, curious if his assistance was truly needed. Though, if something happened to Snow, whom would answer his previously voiced question – what was a focus? The Dark Knight curtly nodded his head, non-verbally acknowledging Snow’s thanks and agreeing to the proposed strategy.
He is fast , The Dark Knight realized as Snow stormed past him as he’d recklessly charged into the Neoshadow’s midsts. Dieter’s head craned in Snow’s direction, his eyes widening in surprise as Snow relentlessly laid into his foe. Are these Monks even human? The Archdaemon thought to himself, dismissing such a notion with a reluctant shake of his head. Those were thoughts for another time. By the time he’d turned his head back to the Neoshadows that had encircled him, one had daringly charged forward and attempted to gouge him with its’ talon like claws. Dieter retreated backwards a single step, narrowly evading its’ outstretched talon.
His lips tightened into a scowl as he’d shifted his grip on the hilt, retaliating with precise slash of his sword. The beast screeched in agony before it’d fell silent, Dieter’s blade rending its’ malformed head from its’ shoulders.
“Star Fire, Awaken and dispense thy judgement, Firaga “
Dieter muttered to himself, a suddenly conflagration of amaranthine flames stemmed from his hand and encircled the previously burnt Neoshadow. This time, the flames consumed it entirely and left behind nothing but dissipating darkness. That’s two out of seven, only five more , Dieter reassured himself, bracing for their retaliation.

Mixed emotions swirled within the burly hero as he made his way through the Neoshadows that made the idiot decision to attack him and his new ally. Snow had too many questions but if he wasn’t careful, he would be caught unawares and the Neoshadows would make a fool out of him in front of the warrior that had come to help the brawler. Snow knew that the sooner he got all of this done, the faster he will be able to figure out what he needed to. Snow kept his eyes on three Neoshadows before him as they shivered and chittered before him with malicious intent. Snow gritted his teeth and charged them, he gave a powerful launch kick that threw one of the Neoshadows into the air. He then grabbed the second Neoshadow by the arm and used it as battering ram to hit the third Neoshadow that had been in front of him, knocking the third Neoshadow off of its feet. He then threw the Neoshadow that he had in his hand at the first Neoshadow that had been launched in the air. He then ran to the third Neoshadow that had been grounded and gave a mighty stomp into the chest of the Neoshadow, effectively crushing it and killing. The darkness left behind let off a black poof of smoke from Snow’s leg.
Snow then turned to face two other Neoshadows that were on the ground but two other Neoshadows stood in Snow’s way. They lunged at Snow, trying to dig their claws into the burly blond, but Snow wasn’t going to have it. Snow hopped back and gave a double clothesline to both, grounding the two overzealous Neoshadows. He then continued forward to the two Neoshadows that he had pursuing before and jumped into the air and landed on both of them, crushing them into oblivion. Snow smirked at his handiwork, he then looked over to see his new ally putting in good work on the Neoshadows too. Snow didn’t use magic that much; even though he was a capable spellcaster, he preferred his fists. However, whenever he did see magic being done, he was always impressed with it. The way this man handled himself in battle did not get a different reaction from Snow at all. He was well versed in battle; though Snow was careful to watch his back, Snow was glad that he was on his side, for the meantime.
Snow had two Neoshadows left, with an extra one heading over to his ally’s location. Snow was sure that he could handle it though. Snow wasn’t sure if his ally was a resident of this world, but if he was, he could definitely help in figuring out why things were the way that they were. How come Snow’s world revert back to how it used to be? Were the efforts of Snow, Lightning, Serah, and all of their friends in vain? Did Bhunivelze return? If he did, then how did he return? Who brought him back? Snow’s mind threatened to put him at the mercy of the Neoshadows that were left but he had to do his best to complete one objective at a time…

| This is where I feel most at ease, in the midst of a raging battlefield with nothing more than cold steel at my side. The Dark Knight’s gaze drifted down the length of his sword, a smile playing at his lips as he’d recalled the journey they’d undertaken together. Without missing a beat, Dieter ducked under one of the Neoshadow’s outstretched talons, shifting his weight as he’d rammed his shoulder into its’ center mass. It’d let out an annoyed screech, its’ body stumbling awkwardly backwards, Dieter’s counter disrupting its’ balance. Now that he’d gained the upper-hand, he’d smirked to himself as he’d blade lurched forward, burying itself deep into the creature’s stomach. It gave a pained screech, a quick wrench and twist of his blade not only freed it but it’d also sent it crumpling to the ground. It gave a few feebler cries before it’d dissipated into a thick, onyx mist.
His head craned in Snow’s direction, surprised to see that the behemoth of a man had disposed of all but two of the seven that had attempted to swarm him. Alas, such would prove to be a careless mistake as the remaining four swarmed him. Their claws biting at his flesh, albeit, their assault lasted only a handful of seconds. Why would they stop? The answer became clear as Dieter’s entire body was encased in an amaranthine flame, one that quickly spread to the surrounding four. His blade sunk into the ground as weakness threatened to overtake him, his knees buckling as he’d continued to burn away at his own vitality – ruthlessly expending his own lifeforce to damage his foes. Before too long, the four had gone silent, Dieter’s body sagged heavily forward, his head resting against the worn hilt of his blade.
Each breathe he took was ragged, strained – the evident of the toll his unorthodox approach had taken was apparent. Thus, was the price that Dark Knight’s paid in exchange for the power of their Unholy Sacrifice – such power came at a heavy cost. Dieter’s head craned lazily in Snow’s direction, his vision blurring before he’d crumpled to the ground. Never once did the Knight’s hand leave the hilt of his sword. The only problem now was the remaining Neoshadow that had branched off from Snow’s group. It chittered excitedly to itself as it’d encroached upon the downed Dark Knight.

Things were going pretty smoothly on Snow’s end. He kept the two Neoshadows that he had left in his sights. The Neoshadows that were left began to back away and cower in fear of the might of Snow and his newfound ally. Snow quickly dashed over to the two Neoshadows that shrieked as Snow made his way over. Already damaged by the clothesline that he gave them both, Snow finished them off by giving haymakers to the both of them. It was all too easy. Snow smiled and pounded his knuckles together. He then turned over to see his partner…and he wasn’t doing so well. Wide-eyed and worried, Snow ran over quickly to aid his new ally. The Neoshadow tried to run over to take advantage of Snow’s new ally but Snow was not going to have any of it, not after he intentionally lent Snow his aid. Snow quickly grabbed the Neoshadow by its arms. Snow held the left arm in his left hand and the right arm in his right hand. Snow then began to pull and stretch, threatening to rip the Neoshadow in half. The Neoshadow began to screech in pain but with a mighty roar from the burly hero, Snow pulled the Neoshadow in half and let it poof up in black smoke.
“Hey, you alright? Thanks for helping me back there.”, Snow said in haste, throwing any reservations he had about his ally straight out of the window.
Snow put a hand on his ally’s shoulder. He was barely moving. What did he do? Did he struggle? Snow should have paid more attention. Snow began to hate himself for not being mindful of his ally. Snow had been so used to being on his own for so long that he had forgotten how to work together with others. What if this had been Gadot or Light; what if it had been Serah if she tried to help him? Snow quickly began to concentrate his magic in to the palm of his right hand. His right hand began to glow green. Snow quickly shot his hand forward, using Curasa, healing his ally and bringing him back to optimal health in a bright baby blue light.
“There, that should do. Can you hear me? Are you alright?”, Snow said, offering a hand to help the warrior up.
Snow had hoped that what he did for him worked the way he wanted it to. Snow wasn’t much of a healer; he was always the one being patched up and healed. It was either Lebreau or Serah putting him back together again after tending to his day job as the leader of NORA. Now that the Neoshadows were out of the way, Snow could finally figure out what in the world was going on with this world and why things reverted back to the way they were before Lightning, Snow, and his friends defeated that evil deity and put the world in the hands of those who lived in it.

| By the time his temporary comrade, Snow, had closed the distance and reached down to grip his shoulder. The Dark Knight’s body was almost statuesque, the rise and fall of his chest scarcely noticeable, and lastly his pallor resembled a corpse. What made this particularly worrisome? It was the lack of external injuries, no, Dieter’s power had wreaked havoc upon his internal organs – the price he’d paid for his inhuman strength. When Snow’s grip tightened around his shoulder, the Dark Knight’s coral lips parted to permit a pained hiss to slip free – further proof that he’d yet to cross the great divide. Dieter’s breath hitched abruptly as Curasa’s magick permeated his body, the curative energies quickly replenishing his bottomed-out stamina and tending to the self-inflicted internal injuries at a breakneck pace.
Dieter’s entire body went rigid, his back arching in a painful fashion as he’d let abruptly exhaled. His verdant eyes shot open in alarm, his pupils contracting in an almost serpentine fashion as it’d settled upon Snow. If the self-proclaimed Hero paid enough attention, he’d no doubt notice that Dieter’s sclera had darkened the edge of his irises had been tainted by the presence of an iridescent yellow. His grip around the hilt of his blade tightened as the Dark Knight’s cognitive reasoning gave way to primal instincts. His teeth ground against one another as his blade arced out savagely towards Snow’s neck. The fogs of war still clouded his mind, the last thing he’d remembered was being surrounded by the handful of Heartless.
Thus, it wasn’t surprising that he’d lashed instinctively, his brain taking a handful of seconds to register that Snow was indeed his ally. With that in mind, the muscles that lined Dieter’s lithe arm contracted harshly as he’d stayed his blade, the sharpened edge stopping about an open palm’s length away. “Where are they?”
Dieter immediately asked, forgoing answering Snow’s inquiry regarding his own health. He’d adverted his gaze in an ashamed manner, unable to bring himself to answer Snow’s previous questions out of shame.

Snow watched as the curative magic made its way into his ally’s body, watching it as it permeated the warrior’s skin. Snow was not the greatest at magic, so he hoped that his magic spell would work. Snow watched his ally closely, trying to see if he would need to do something else in order to heal him and bring back to optimal health again. Snow kept his hand on his ally’s shoulder, being extremely attentive to how his newfound comrade in arms would respond. Snow made sure to pay attention to his surroundings though. He couldn’t get over the fact that his world returned back to the way it was before Bhunivelze was destroyed. He wondered if the god returned and turned everything back to the way it was. What was worse was that if that were the case, then what happened to Serah? What happened to Lightning? What happened to all of his friends? Were they ok? Were they safe? Did Bhunivelze kill them or simply insert them back to Nova Chrysalia? Snow decided to keep focused though, the warrior that helped had to have known what had been going on or rather what happened. First things first, Snow had to heal him.
It was then that something strange began to happen. The warrior’s eyes undertook a strange transformation. They were changing colors and doing all sorts of strange things. Snow was a little confused. Did this happen every time someone healed him? Did this happen every time he fought? It was then that the warrior popped up and went for Snow’s neck. Snow should have known; he knew that there was something off about this guy. Now, this warrior was trying to decapitate the burly blond that healed him and helped him. It was all a funny way of giving thanks in Snow’s eyes, and by funny, Snow, of course, meant terrible. Snow hopped backwards and got into his traditional fighting stance, ready to deal with whatever this warrior had in store for Snow. For all Snow knew, this warrior might have been the cause of why the new world transformed back into Nova Chrysalia. Snow shook his head slightly, he could never catch a break but it was then that the warrior stopped and asked where the monsters were. It was then that it all clicked for Snow. He thought he was still fighting the Neoshadows. Snow smiled and relaxed and walked over, placing a hand on the warrior’s shoulder.
“Yeah, man, they’re all gone. Thanks to you. Are you alright? How're you feelin'?”, Snow said with a welcoming smile on his face. Snow had plenty of questions but he would hold off on that for now, so that he can make sure his newfound ally was completely alright.

| Despite Snow’s reassurance, The Dark Knight kept his blade leveled for an additional ten seconds, enough time for him to scan his immediate surroundings and confirm the other’s statement. Once he was satisfied, the Dark Knight lowered his blade, letting its’ tip bit into the ground as Snow’s hand rested upon his shoulder. Dieter’s free hand drifted up and laid atop the man’s gargantum hands, lingering there for a second before they’d shot up his arm gripping approximately the middle of his forearm as he’d slowly pulled himself to his feet. He simultaneously adjusted his grip upon his blade, shifting it so that it’d acted as a make-shift cane to steady himself. “I’ll be fine, I just over exerted myself a bit.”
He’d replied candidly, willingly admitting his own folly – centuries of experience still hadn’t permitted him to master his control over the Darkness within. His gaze drifted from Snow to their surroundings once more, finally committing it to memory. They were within an ever-shifting sand sea, it was surprisingly devoid of any noteworthy structures or landmarks, minus a few decrepit towers in the distance. Dieter’s mind was still reeling, Snow’s voice wasn’t anything like the feminine tone that pleaded for him to complete her focus. That of course still begged the question, what was a focus? What did he need to complete for her? The Dark Knight wondered as he’d reached into the fold of his robes once again, looking at the everchanging runic scripture.
Unfortunately, he didn’t recognize any of the scriptures, nor did he understand the crude depiction of an Anubis on the side. He’d extended the parchment to Snow.
“Can you read this? The voice only told me to complete her focus.”
He’d inquired, not bothering to beat around the bush.
