Reward: Nethicite Pauldron - Using the Royal Chitin Mogrid obtained from Hornetia and a chunk of nethicite he collected from Lhusu Mines, Mogrid himself fashioned this pauldron. There is an aperture of spellproofed chitin that can be opened or closed over a tiny cabachon-cut gem of deifacted nethicite. Opening or closing the aperture protecting the stone is an action that Mogrid can only do once in per round, although it is automatically closed if the moogle activates his Bulwark ability. While exposed, the nethicite passively absorbs the first spell cast on or near him each round and stores it as a charge in the nethicite. Spells that deal average or lower damage are completely absorbed, others are reduced in severity by two tiers if harmful or negated completely if they would benefit Mogrid or an ally of his. Beneficial spells aimed at an enemy of Mogrid's are impaired by one round or reduced by one tier as appropriate, whichever is less severe. Overuse carries extreme penalties however, as the energies stored in the stone will seek an outlet if the stone absorbs a spell that would put it above 2 charges, immediately dealing light damage to the Pauldron's wearer. If it would be put above 5 charges by an absorbed spell the stone will go critical, dealing medium damage immediately and light damage each round while expending 1 charge per round until the stone is empty again. (Charges are assumed to be grounded out safely after each battle unless circumstances don't allow Mogrid enough time to do so. This means that each thread and nearly all battles start with the pauldron empty.)

Spell Barrage - By charging up for a moment, the user can chain together a series of spells. At the beginning of the charge sequence, choose a spell that the user can cast and begin charging. During each round of the charge-up phase, three copies of that spell manifest around the user as balls of energy corresponding in color to the charged spell. Fire is Red-orange, Blizzard is cyan, Lightning is neon yellow, etc. When the user finally releases them, all remaining spheres are cast as copies of the original spell and can be aimed at different targets if the caster so desires. Beneficial spells such as Protect and Cure cannot be cast in this manner.

Reward: If using an appropriate weapon, Mogrid is able to catch a melee attack and trap the weapon, putting it's use on a special cooldown for 1 post. He has become more proficient at this trick since the Festival of the Hunt when he and the other Hunters faced Briar Rose's false reflection. Overuse of this ability makes it predictable though, and for every time he uses Bladecatcher, its cooldown increases by 1 post while he looks for a new chance.
Bladecatch chance - First Attempt - 100%, Second Attempt - 75% (1-15 on a d20), Third Attempt - 50% (1-5 on a d10)
