It was very quick. Maybe a bit too quick.
Edgar watched the two both make their one attacks. Dieter's making contact first with Sabin's making a quick and very close second as the breeze knocked Dieter a bit. Edgar feeling a bit of the cold wind, his hair moving a bit in response. The barrier could hold the physical damage, but it seemed it let air flow normally between it. The King was surprised that Dieter had managed what he had. Sabin had been too loose with the guidelines. But, a blow was a blow.
Sabin shrugged it off, giving the win to Dieter before changing the subject back to exploring the city. All Edgar could do was stand there, arms folded, and shake his head at the exchange. "You truly are the baine of my existance sometimes, Sabin..." The man sighed as he closed his eyes, shaking his head one more time before glancing back up at Dieter, unfolding his arms. Dieter speaking up after, questioning how his brother had managed to strike as he had. Edgar didn't seem to understand the question. It was a monk technique. He supposed that Dieter wasn't familar with a monk's abilities. That would explain it. He then followed up by inviting them on a tour.
"THAT would be fantastic if it's not much of a bother. Though, I am more interested in finding the nearest library and spending the rest of my time there." He was so interested in learning about the technology they had here. It was fascinating.

The small skirmish had ended and it may have technically been a draw (it was almost too close to call), but Sabin was fine giving the young effeminate male the win. Not prolonging the conflict meant he wouldn't have to hurt the boy. It did seem, however, that the young man wan was intrigued by Sabin's Blitz technique.
"That was a Blitz technique. I store up the body's energy and release it as I'm punching, and it makes deadly bursts of wind."
Sabin dusted himself off after the sparring match, and looked to Edgar. He knew he was a barbarian compared to his brother, and that was a good thing. Sabin had spent his life making use of his muscles, but Edgar was the one better suited for leadership. It was the very reason why Sabin decided he wanted to leave Figaro all those years ago.
"Edgar, you do realize your the one that got us into this mess, right? I mean we all knew that you hit on the wrong person eventually. That reminds me, have you seen Locke, or for that matter, anyone we know around here?"
When it came to matters of checking out the sights, Sabin really wasn't all too interested. Buildings were just buildings. Sure they were all tall and made of steel, but he used the sightseeing as an excuse to find a way home. There were things there he needed to protect, such as the wild boy, Gau. That boy had lived on his own for years after his 'father' threw him out. Sabin was the closest thing he had to a guardian now.
"Maybe we'll come across something to take us back home. Someone's going to have to feed Gau."

| The Dark Knight’s lips curved upwards, evidently amused by the sibling’s playful interactions with one another – a part of him envied them. Why just a part? The answer in itself was inherently simple, Helios’ Ambition and the Low Town Orphans, both of whom had induvial that perfected he art effortlessly grinding down his saint-like patience; a feat within itself. Meanwhile, one of the brothers, Edgar, had glanced back with a perplexed expression on his face as he’d inquired about Sabin’s technique. Fortunately, it’d appeared the grotesquely monk understood the question quite clearly. Sabin’s verbiage caused the Dark Knight’s brows to knit together in frustration, he’d never heard of the Blitz techniques. No, the monks of Ivalice channeled an inner energy known as Chakra, Chi or some form of similar energies to accomplish astonishing feats.
Truthfully, Dieter detested Monks with a burning passion, if only for the fact their staggering vitality rivaled his own. This of course meant, they’d often times resorted to a war-of-attrition - the victor determined by split-second decisions. One of the Ivalican Monk’s had used a similar technique, albeit, it’d splintered the very ground. He failed to suppress the chuckle that rose up his throats as Edgar and Sabin bickered amongst themselves. Sabin taking a moment to reprimand his well-mannered, womanizing brother – citing that the entire turn of events had been inadvertently caused by his flirtatious ways. Sadly, if Edgar bothered to glance in his direction expecting aid, he’d see that Dieter was solemly shaking his head.
The Dark Knight firmly believed, sometimes it was far better to let someone claw themselves out of the hole they’d dug rather than giving them the helping hand. Edgar expressed his interest in Dieter’s offer, claiming that he’d wanted to investigate the local libraries and spend a majority of time there. Sabin on the other hand, voiced that he’d have preferred to find his way home mentioning that someone had to feed someone named Gau. “Gau? Home? Where are you from?”
The Dark Knight inquired, uncertain what world that the duo hailed from.

This whole experience drove the king mad. Sabin always had known how to fluster him and push his buttons. It really aggravated the king. But, Sabin was his blood. As much as he might want to kill the man occasionally, he wouldn't. Plus, Sabin would probably pound him into the ground. Yes, Edgar could fight well enough to fend for himself. But he would never go all out on his own brother, even in anger. He was more attuned to strategy and working his charm to get the information that they needed. His charm had saved their lives in the past before Kefka destroyed the worlds as they knew it. That barmaid had told him of the plot and Edgar had gotten their in time to save the day.
But no, that was forgotten. He's used his manly charm to get the information and a way to break back into his own castle to regain control. He just tried to stay on the current topic as he let out a sigh and hung his head a bit in defeat. Dieter truly had looked quite beautiful when he approached. His hair was the key feature. He would comment that Sabin thought the same before, but he did not want to upset their newest friend. Sabin took the moment to explain the monk technique to Dieter as they stood bonding a bit. Though, the slight facial expressions expressed a bit of confusion to the concept. He wasn't aware that their verbiage was different on his world. That's when the conversation came back to his 'incessant' flirting.
Edgar sighed once more before punching his brother's arm, knowing that he wouldn't hurt the man even with full force. "....I did not get us into this mess. You're the one that upset the gentleman." He defended as he looked to Dieter for help. But, she shake of his head showed that the effeminate man was not going to get himself involved in this discussion. The king could not blame him for this. It was a disagreement between brothers. "Sabin, I swear I will beat you down if you attempt to tell anyone. ESPECIALLY if that is Locke or Terra. They'll never let my live this down and I'm not one to go against my honor and honesty to deny it." He half threatened and half pleaded. Though, he jumped right on the band wagon when Sabin started to ask if Edgar had seen anyone yet. "Other than you and our newest friend, no. I certainly didn't expect to run into you, brother..." He admitted, still a bit flustered from the teasing.
"Gau can handle himself once in a while, Sabin. You baby the boy far too much." He said before Dieter spoke up. Edgar paused a moment in thought. "....I suppose we don't truly have a name for it as we never thought there were other worlds like our own.... But it is a world of great balance and ruin... As for Gau..." Edgar seemed faintly amused. "He's... hard to explain. Young boy that was raised by the animals of our world. He's a bit of a wild child but, Sabin has practically adopted him and won't stop spoiling the boy. Won't make him dress like the gentleman he should be." He frowned as he glanced at his brother. "What of yourself?"

"You know as well as I do that there's no way you're gonna see Gau wearing anything formal. I only barely got him to stop putting his feet on the table when he eats."
With that, Sabin looked towards the young boy at their side. He had asked who Gau was and Edgar gave a simple enough answer, but the bear of a man felt he should add more to it.
"Yeah, the boy's been abandoned by his pop and left to the creatures of the Veldt, a place thick with powerful beasts. He lived off the land for so long that he grew to using the powers of these monsters. I uprooted him from this and started taking care of him, since his old man is a dirt bag."
Sabin jolted a look back to Edgar before continuing.
"And I don't spoil the boy. If I'm not there he'll eat whatever he can find, and some of these animals are poisonous if not cooked properly. Plus, chasing after that boy is great training."
Sabin let his eyes float back to Dieter.
"And I have got to find a way back to him. So, I'll have to talk to you all later. Brother, I hope you've learned your lesson."
With that, Sabin turned away from the pair and began walking back towards where he first emerged in the world. He would look there for a way back to his own world. If he entered there then surely there was a way back there.
SABIN EXIT

The Archdaemon’s heart ached duly as he’d sympathized with Gau’s tragic upbringing, neither of them had been afforded the love that they’d deserved. Albeit, Dieter’s past transgressions permitted him to understand the fine divide that existed between love and loyalty. The Dark Knight was snapped from his momentary stupor by Sabin chastising his brother, proclaiming that Gau in formal attire was an impossibility. A soft chuckle slipped from between Dieter’s lips as Sabin elaborated upon the lengths to break the wilding of some of his bad habits. His brow arched upwards, intrigue evident upon his androgynous features, Gau’s abilities were peculiar. Certainly, there was a handful of magick-users that specialized in replicating enemies’ abilities, however, most of them had extensive formal training.
“I attend to a group of Orphans, except, I teach them to fight… Ivalice is seldom peaceful for long.”
Dieter admitted with a distasteful shake of his head. Ivalice’s near-constant power struggle often delved into unintentional wars – each nation and royal family fighting to maintain their status. Alas, it was for naught, hume, their short life-spans didn’t permit them to witness the full ramification of their selfishness. Dieter’s head craned in Sabin’s direction when he felt the muscular man’s gaze lingering upon him for more than a few seconds.
“Sadly, I must part ways as well, the Orphans will need me soon.”
Dieter answered honestly, reaching into a bag only to retrieve a small blackened crystal. He held it within his hand, squeezing it until it splintered off into countless fragments that fell to the ground. However, its’ magick had been released, Dieter’s body being forcibly pulled into a miniature warp mote, one that was specifically linked to the one of the Moogle’s fascinating leystone catalysers.

If there was ever a time that Sabin acted like the adult he was, it was when discussing Gau. The man had practically become his father, even though he had no children of his own. Sabin cared so deeply about the boy and the sentiment was sweet in nature. He'd scooped up this wild uncivilized young man and had taken him under his wing. They had dressed the boy up once to go meet the father that had abandoned him. Though, at the time they didn't realize it was intentional. Once that became apparent, they took full guardianship of him. It was surprising how much had happened over those few years that Kefka plagued the earth. They had all grown so much and their odd ragtag band of heroes. They were all unlikely comrades. Had Edgar been told years before that he'd of been teaming up with people like a common thief and a sky pirate, he'd of laughed and cast them out of his kingdom for such blatant lies. "Dirt Bag is the understatement of the year...I have a few better words that could describe him." Edgar said with a displeased face in reference to Gau's father. When his twin brother continued off about eating things he shouldn't, Edgar gave him a look. The boy had lived on his own for years. He could certainly look after himself better than most others. He knew what he could and couldn't eat. Otherwise,e he'd of already been dead. The Veldt was not a friendly place. But, he just shook his head. "We are both aware he can handle himself, Sabin..." The king argued. But, there was not reasoning with him when he got like this. Maybe it was all that freedom he'd had over the years. "Sabin!! H-HEY!" Sabin was gone before Edgar could say another word. The king practically face-palmed as he shook his head. The man was so bullheaded at times. It drove him nuts. Dieter had responded, practically agreeing with Sabin's sentiment before disappearing himself. Edgar look at the empty space around him as he folded his arms. "I don't understand where common cutesy has gone. I'm perfectly fine to figure out my own way him. Thank you so much for asking. It was such a pleasure to meet you..." He said sarcastically to himself as he started down his own path. Maybe he'd find what he was looking for on his own.[/blockquote] [Exit Thread] [End Thread] All members have been awarded munny
