Gilgamesh smirked. It was obvious that Rojo was now in over his head. Still, Gilgamesh knew from personal experience that mages were not to be underestimated. Especially the sword-wielding kind. The momentary shock that he instilled in the Red Wizard, however, was something would warm the cockles of Gilgamesh's heart in the days to come. For now, however, he had to continue the fight. Especially now that Rojo seemed to buff and heal himself. That was twice now to Gilgamesh's once. Of course, he had lost his main source of healing with Enkidu, which was unfortunate. However, he was tougher now that he was at full strength. Rojo then threw a Thunder spell at Gilgamesh, which he barely even felt thanks to the Shell spell. Gilgamesh raised an eyebrow at the young Red Wizard. What was he thinking, exactly? "Hmmm... how unfortunate. Well, I suppose the only honorable way to settle this would be to WAKE THE DRAGON!" Unfortunately, Gilgamesh was adept at tricking his opponents, so he HAD to call Rojo's bluff. After all, what sort of once-bad-then-good-then-bad-then-good-again-now-in-between-sort-of guy would he be if he just walked into a trap like that? Besides, he was going to do this anyway.
Four glowing dragon heads appeared at the four corners of the arena, looking particularly vicious. It would seem that Gilgamesh had no end to the list of servants he could call. However, while the Dragon Heads paled in comparison to Enkidu, they were strong enough to deal with a mage, valiant though he was. "So, out of magic, eh?! That's really too bad. If you had some powerful magic at your disposal then I suppose it could save you from being tied up at the moment!" Gilgamesh said with a rather mocking tone. Suddenly, a magical chain flew out of Gilgamesh's axe and wrapped itself tightly around Rojo. The dragon heads leisurely floated around but then all faced Rojo and began charging up for their Dragonfire attack. It would seem Gilgamesh intended to make Rojo face a firing squad. "You were a valiant opponent, I'll grant you that! But your run in the tournament ends here, former champion! FIRE!" The Dragon Heads then fired their attack at Rojo, all four fireballs converging onto one spot.
-------------------
1) Somebody woke the dragon! It was Gilgamesh.
2) Gilgamesh uses Enchain to bind his opponent
3) The dragon heads fire their Dragonfire attack.
HA! I lied!: Gilgamesh feigns surrender, bowing deeply. He then casts Haste, Protect and Shell on himself and laughs at his opponents' perceived naivete, whether or not they actually believed him. Haste allows him to use one extra ability per post, Protect reduces damage from physical attacks by one step (Medium damage to weak damage, e.g.) and Shell does the same for Magical attacks. [Cooldown: 4 posts]
Lilliputian Lyric: Gilgamesh casts this spell at an opponent and cuts them down to size. Not only can said opponent fit in a pocket for easy carrying, but their physical strength is severely reduced and they take more damage from Gilgamesh's attacks. Roll a ten-sided dice to determine if opponent is affected or not. [3 or 7 = Success] Can be healed with Esuna, a Remedy or any items that cure Mini. (Opponent's physical abilities's damage ratings are reduced by two steps, with Weak damage being the lowest. Gilgamesh's physical abilities act as if they were a damage rating higher. Magic is not affected in either case) [Cooldown: 1 post]
Chicken Dance: Gilgamesh uses this forbidden dance to turn his opponent into a chicken. Chickens cannot do anything but cluck and peck. Roll a ten-sided die to determine effectiveness. [Cooldown: 2 posts]
It's Transmogrifying Time!: Gilgamesh transforms into his eight-armed form, complete with his ensemble of weapons and real kung-fu grip!. All previous abilities are locked except for Bitter End, Giga Jump and Whirlwind Slash. The following abilities can only be used while "It's Transmogrifying Time!" is active. [Duration: until end of thread] [Cooldown: Once per thread]
Masamune: Gilgamesh uses his superb katana and dashes twice at an opponent, slicing at him/her as he moves past. Deals Medium damage. [Cooldown: 1 post]
Sword Dance: Gilgamesh unleashes a deadly combo with his swords, attempting to dice them into itty-bitty bits. Deals Heavy damage. [Cooldown: 2 posts]
Waking the Dragon: Gilgamesh summons four Dragon's Heads to aid him in battle. They seem to be made entirely of light. They move about the battlefield and occasionally attack opponents.
[Dragon Heads = 5 HP per head]
Dragonfire: The Dragon's Heads each pick an opponent and fire a blast of fire at them. Deals Medium damage. [Cooldown: 3 posts]
Enchain: Gilgamesh fires a chain out of his axe and binds an opponent with the chains. While bound, the opponent can't move, but is able to flail about freely with their arms. This is helpful because the chain has HP and must be broken to be freed. [HP: 5] [Cooldown: 3 posts]

Every good fighter knows that real fighters prolong their victory as long as they can. That's exactly what Rojo was doing. He was prolonging his victory as long as he could, for the audience's enjoyment, of course! As soon as his bluff hit the air, Gilgamesh seemed to call it, summoning a dragon head in each of the ring's four corners. If Rojo was an amateur, this would certainly spell certain doom, however, the chain that became wrapped around his midsection would present an issue.
He had no choice but to take the blast that erupted from the dragons' mouths. There was no denying that the blast hurt, he felt the pain from the attack, but he'd definitely healed his wounds from the prior attacks at the right time. Even feeling the blasts in a direct attack, Rojo was still in good fighting shape, but his opponent was about to be in a worse state than he was.
"Oh no! I don't think I have an answer for this! Surely, I'll finally be defeated!"
As soon as the last word left his lips he cast a spell. He witnessed what seemed like half the arena floor erupt into a fiery explosion once again, as he cast another Firaga. However, he hadn't planned for the intense heat in such a confined space. It was much too hot inside here.
"AH! HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT!"
He immediately reacted by casting another spell. As soon as the flames subsided they were replaced with giant blades of ice that erupted upward from the ground. Blizzaga filled the once baking arena with a frigid winter air, and an arena floor completely covered with shards of ice. But now it was much too cold!
"Aw! Now its too cold. I'm f-f-f-freezing!"
He finished his magical combination with his most powerful spell. The ring filled with a massive explosion of fire mixed with light energy. This was the most powerful offensive spell on his world. Rojo had just learned to cast the spell after the winter tournament in Chistmas Town, but Flare was a spell he'd seen his protege, Alwyn, cast numerous times. That little book nerd spent too much time studying magic and not enough time wooing the ladies, in Rojo's mind.
"AND THAT'S JUST RIGHT! HA! THIS TIME I LIED!"

Gilgamesh kept the chain taut as the blasts converged on Rojo. Sure, Gil still had a ways to go to counteract the Curaga, but he was nothing if not persistent. However, then Rojo unveiled what he had planned. First, the Firaga spell hit, causing the chain to crack and splinter, while the Dragon Heads screamed their displeasure. Gilgamesh was hit, too, but he weathered the spell well enough. Then the Blizzaga spell hit, causing the chain to break entirely and the Dragon Heads to be destroyed. Gilgamesh stumbled backwards. Rojo wasn't kidding around either, from the looks of it. Good! Gilgamesh would hate to win this fight TOO easily! A true challenge was really the thing to get the blood pumping. Then Gilgamesh noticed Rojo was getting ready to cast a third spell and he was definitely getting an awful vibe from it. Even a mere dabbler in magic like himself knew this was going to be one doozy of a spell. "Well... poop." was all Gilgamesh got out before the arena erupted in an explosion of almost cataclysmic proportion. It was truly an ending worthy of that trio of spells. As the flames died down and the smoke began to clear, the entire audience waited with bated breath to see what had befallen the multi-armed warrior. Had he finally met his match? Was the fight actually over? Could they actually take the cotton out of their ears to stifle the constant yelling?
However, a mysterious thing happened. Gilgamesh's body was nowhere to be found. Not even a scrap of his red cloak. The answer of what happened to him came moments later when the audience looked up and found that Gilgamesh, defying all odds, had used his Giga Jump to jump over the Flare spell itself at the last minute, managing to dodge the most damaging spell in Rojo's repertoire. While he was still in pain from the other two spells, his tenacity and determination was at maximum overdrive. He would not let himself be defeated by some second-rate mage. "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! YOU THOUGHT IT WAS A BIRD, BUT IT WAS REALLY ME, GILGAMESH! Gilgamesh came crashing down with all of his weapons onto Rojo, before hopefully slamming into him, blades first. He actually bounced from the forces involved. However, he was far from done. He kept in Rojo's face and launched a terrifying combo, slashing with his bagh nakh, then trying to chop Rojo with his axe, then trying to smash him with the mace, then trying to slice into him with the Masamune, before going in for a stab with the Pradamante and then two more slashes from Hauteclaire sword and the Ridill Scimitar. As he did this, Gilgamesh yelled, "HA HA! En Guarde! Thrust! Slice! Riposte! Parry! HO HO! Dodge! Block! Touche! Coup De Grace!" It was Gilgamesh was just sort of yelling terms he knew in the heat of the moment, which didn't correspond to anything he was doing. Whether this was his attempt at mind games with Rojo or him displaying more incompetence than usual would be a mystery for the ages. Finally, still staying in Rojo's face, he launched a Whirlwind Slash, spinning in place with all of his weapons, like some sort of ridiculously dangerous dreidel. Somehow, he managed to not make himself dizzy. "I won't let you win this tournament so easily, Rojo!"
----------------
1) Gilgamesh used Giga Jump to jump over all the haters. Also the Flare spell AND onto Rojo.
2) Gilgamesh actually uses all of his weapons in a brutal combo, instead of being relegated to an animation repeated over and over.
3) Gilgamesh spins like a top in a Whirlwind Slash

Rojo's first two spells went off without a hitch, and the Red Wizard of Light was ready to celebrate another well earned victory. After his Flare spell ended, nothing was left of his opponent, so obviously Rojo vaporized him with the massive Flare spell. He even let out a hearty laugh, until he noticed a large shadow blocking the sun. The crimson caster looked up, and, of course, there was his opponent.
And it was at that moment Rojo knew...he screwed up.
"Uhhh...ohhh"
But it was ok, Rojo still had Protera up, until it faded just before the blades struck. Oh, this was about to hurt..really, really bad. The blades of his jumping attack hit home, followed by a physical combo that hurt just as really, really bad. Of course, the whole time his opponent was rambling again with a confusing mash of swordplay terms.
"Do..you...even...know..how..to..swing..those...things?"
He managed to get a word out between each swing. Then, Gilgamesh made a mistake by knocking the wizard away with a spinning slash, but, of course, it also hurt really, really bad. As Rojo was flying backwards he managed to get off a second Cura spell to relieve himself of some of the really, really bad hurting. He still felt aches and pains, but he'd manage now.
As Rojo landed, he cast his Invis spell again to vanish from sight. However, this time he'd learned to not stick to the ground and lept to a corner of the arena. He wasn't at the furthest corner from the swordsman, but the second furthest. He figured the swordsman would assume he was heading as far away as he could, so he purposely chose a different corner. He cast a third spell, this time another massive lightning storm of Thundaga with no other target but the swordsman in the arena. He needed to even the score, big time.

Gilgamesh saw the Thundaga spell coming and guarded himself, bringing his arms in front of his face. The bolts cut through the air and struck him, electricity burning and coursing through his body. Gilgamesh's body smoked a bit from the bolts' impact. However, he still stood, a giant among men. Rojo, meanwhile, had gone back to his old tricks, turning invisible and healing himself. This, however, sparked a brainwave within Gilgamesh. Rojo had used a more powerful healing spell and now he had used a lesser one. If there was an opening to unleash a truly deadly strike, it had to be now. Gil was running out of time and he couldn't endure the spells forever. He couldn't even rely on the Gilgamesh Patented Secret Technique, that being running the heck out of there and not looking back. It had all come down to attrition in the end. Gilgamesh smirked. "So, you've gone back to running and hiding. Can't say I blame you, those strikes looked like they hurt. Unfortunately for you, your invisibility won't work this time. I'm already at full power and going all out! YOU SHOULD'VE SURRENDERED WHEN YOU HAD THE CHANCE, BUT IT'S TOO LATE! KNOW THE POWER OF A TRUE WARRIOR, RRRRRRRRRRRRROOJOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Gilgamesh jogged to the center of the arena and then got into a pose. At first, it just seemed like another odd thing amongst a tournament match of MANY odd things. "I think it's time for you to CHILL OUT!" A grid suddenly appeared over the arena floor, bitterly cold to the touch. In an instant, ice sprung up from the grid, lowering the temperature even further and damaging all opponents with the sharpness in the ice. Before the Antarctic Tango was through, another grid laid down on the arena floor, covering the squares that were left blank by the last one. It, too, exploded with ice to damage Rojo. Gilgamesh then did another pose and an illusory Moon appeared in the arena. "Your stubborn tenacity is sheer LUNACY!" Gilgamesh's Moonlight attack then triggered, causing a massive shockwave to explode outward, covering the arena. But even then, Gilgamesh was not through. "And now, this is it! THE EPIC FINALE!" He did his ultimate attack in this form, the Cherry Blossom Festival. Various spots nearest to Gilgamesh became colored pink, with more appearing at further distances, greater in both number and ground coverage. After a small beat, invisible blades seemed to slice through the air very quickly and in an extremely fast combo, focused in the pink spots. The attacks also seemed to explode into cherry blossoms, hence the name. This combination of attacks were sure to make Rojo surrender. If not... well, Gilgamesh would just have to see.
-------------------------
1) Gilgamesh unleashes the icy barrage of Antarctic Tango
2) Gilgamesh unleashes Moonlight to destroy Rojo. Local tidal waves are as normal.
3) Gilgamesh is turning Japanese with Cherry Blossom Festival, he's turning Japanese, I really think so.

The fight for Rojo was getting intense. He had thought that tucking himself away in a corner was a good idea, but he still didn't know what to expect with a wild card like Gilgamesh. Cracks were beginning to slide through his overly confident facade. He wasn't entirely sure how this fight would end, but the crimson mage would see it through to its completion. All of his bravado would be for naught if he couldn't defend his title in an epic fashion. The crowd was going nuts throughout this fight, mostly yelling for them to keep quiet any time they started rambling on.
Rojo had just managed to catch his breath when the swordsman found himself in the middle of the ring. The red mage wasn't sure what he was doing, but he knew the blue checkered pattern on the ground couldn't be a good thing. The first set of lines actually avoided the Red Wizard of Light's current position, so he merely watched and waited, but as soon as it exploded into shards of ice, another pattern appeared covering the parts of the arena the original layout missed. Knowing what was to come next, Rojo quickly hopped to the side, seeing his Invis spell end as he did. He quickly cast a Cure, a much lighter healing spell, on himself with a light green sparkling aura as the frosty checkerboard exploded.
"You can do better than that! My frozen spell at least covered the arena floor all at once! Yours is simply second rate!"
It was then that Rojo saw the moon suddenly appear over Gilgamesh's head. Well, that wasn't a good sign, now was it? The damned thing detonated into a shockwave that nearly knocked the red mage on his rear end. Great, more damage. At least the Cure spell had nearly put himself back to full health after his former Cura spell. The combination of the two had Rojo ready for a solid round two. Well, it was probably round three or four at this point, but who was counting?
Then, the wind picked up, and Rojo knew another bizarre attack was coming. He decided to counter this one as it was cast. As he was being pummeled by a series of lashes, the scarlet-clad caster summoned a pillar of flame beneath the swordsman. Fira was the same spell he'd used for his magnificent entrance earlier, and made for a decent damage dealer, as well as a cool sight for an entrance pose.
Something had to give. These two were beating each other silly, and making each other look silly. This battle could go on for days, in what would be the most epic showdown to have be called an epic showdown. However, Rojo had to think of the future. He still had two opponents he'd have to go through before the tournament found its conclusion, with the Red Wizard of Light obviously standing at the top.
"Gilgamesh! You have presented yourself as a fine warrior. However, I still have two other opponents to go through before I consider my championship reign defended! Bow out now! Or at least come up with an alternative to this ongoing battle. At this rate, I'll be a decrepit old man before you can best me!"

Gilgamesh smiled. That did a number on his opponent. Sure, Rojo had to use up another healing spell, but it was weaker than the last two. His optimism wasn't even deterred by the Fira spell the mage cast as Gilgamesh dove for cover, dodging it. He then stood back up and was ready to fight. Rojo brought up an interesting point. "Hmm... you bring up an interesting point, my scarlet wearing friend. You have the clear edge in magic while I'm clearly the better swordsman. We could fight until the worlds freeze over!" Gilgamesh decided to neglect to mention that he didn't have any real access to healing magic at the moment. Why should Rojo need to know that? "There HAS to be a form of combat that we are near equals at, so we can decide once and for all who is the true victor of this match! For a while, a silence fell over the Colosseum as Gilgamesh thought long and hard on what to do about this predicament. If only Enkidu were here, his insight would be greatly appreciated right now. Then Gilgamesh lit up. He spun his weapons around (except the bagh nakh, hard to do that with a claw weapon) and then embedded them into the ground. He then folded his arms across his body. "Yeeesssss. It is clear what needs to be done. We have fought in the arenas of magic and weaponry and have decided the victor of each. However, there is one arena that remains untested that we both excel at!"
Meanwhile, the same man that complained at the beginning of the match when Gilgamesh was about to launch into his backstory groaned and placed his head in his hands. "If they're going to talk again, I'm leaving and never coming back, I swear to the Gods." His friend sighed in frustration at him, having had enough of his complaining. "This is why I can't take you anywhere. Gilgamesh nodded, as if having heard the complaints. "Yeeess... IT IS THE ARENA OF BANTER! Our wit! Our ability to fast talk. Our glibness, if you will! It is clear we are near equals in the art of the taunt! Thus, there is only one possible avenue available to us. The only way to truly end this battle! We shall engage in that most ancient art of battle taunting, where we use our eclectic vocabularies to humiliate each other until only one is left standing! Eheheehehehe... of course, that will be ME!" Gilgamesh then got into a sumo stance and pointed at Rojo with all of his index fingers. "ROJO! RED WIZARD OF LIGHT! I, THE ALMIGHTY GILGAMESH! CHALLENGE YOU..."
TO A RAP BATTLE!

Gilgamesh had a grand idea! Rojo excelled at the art of banter and using his own words to his advantage. However, Rojo was excellent at anything he had dabbled in. However, what was a rap battle? Whatever it was, surely Rojo was the best there was at it!
"OF COURSE! A RAP BATTLE! I excel at those!"
Rojo walked over to the edge of the ring and motioned over one of the females who'd been cheering for him the entire battle. He kneeled down in front of her and began to whisper in her ear.
"Umm...what's a rap battle?"
The young, attractive female giggled and explained the concept to the red mage. Apparently it was a battle of rhymes using tasteful jabs to talk down to your opponent. The crowd would decide the winner based on who had the best verbal damage dealt with their witty rhymes.
"Ah, thank you! That'll work brilliantly!"
Rojo stood up and looked at his opponent. He vomited a little on himself out of a mixture of anticipation and exhaustion. He was nervous to be dabbling in something he hadn't attempted before, but he had this. He was Rojo, the Red Wizard of Light.
"My palms are sweaty, knees weak, and my arms are heavy There's vomit on my tunic already, some substance called spaghetti. No lie, I'm nervous, even though I look calm and steady I cast bombs, and I let my sword go shreddin' I beat the best, so you can't stop me now When I'm through, the crowd is gonna go so loud You're chokin' now, you weren't expecting me to win over the crowd I've got this in the bag, I'm gonna mop the floor with that mop you wear And when I'm done I'll blow your ass to kingdom come with a Flare"
That would be Rojo's first verse. Now, he would just wait to see what Gilgamesh could conjure up. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 1. Rojo spit mad lyrics yo.

Gilgamesh folded his arms across his chest and let Rojo take the stage, even though they hadn't even gotten anyone to do an OFFICIAL RAP BATTLE COUNTDOWN! But that was fine. Little did Rojo know that he fell right into Gilgamesh's trap. Not only was he the mightiest swordsman in all the land, but he was also the Undisputed King of Rap Battles, a title bestowed unto him by an unbiased third party, Enkidu. As Rojo began to throw down his supposedly sick rhymes, all Gilgamesh did was smirk and shake his head. It was amateur hour, plain and simple. Sure, Gilgamesh gave the Red Wizard of Light credit for being enthusiastic, but that only went so far. Once Rojo was done, Gilgamesh stepped forward and pulled out a mic in one of his arms. He then pointed at Rojo and began his verse.
"Sorry, Rojo, but the only thing you won over was my pity I'm sure whatever podunk townspeople would like your little ditty But to beat the best, you gotta be the best And it looks to me like you need about five centuries' rest. Your magic was sad, I tore through you with my blades Might as well bury you six feet under in the shade To you, this crowd ain't gonna latch After all, they couldn't see you for half the match! Don't get me wrong, you spun quite a tale But that was all it was, so I think you should just bail And take your fake hat and your overblown fireworks show Because quite frankly, my friend, your skills just BLOW!"
Gilgamesh stepped back, basking in the crowds' reaction to the sick rhymes and taunting Rojo to bring it on. However, how long could this go on? And who would prove themselves in the end? Only time would tell.
