| | The dark hummed with an inappropriate and contradictory vibrancy. It had won. Conquered as it often did and in its victory it adorned its prize within the folds of itself like a prized pageant crown. It watched its prize and it laughed at him. It couldn’t very well allow the two beings to continue communicating. No. It had to separate them and it did…so cruel in its wake. Solitude was the best way to dissolve your prey. Sometimes the presence of the never ending dark was maddening in that way. There’s almost a sentience to it, the way it wisps and lashes and claims oh so much in its wake.
For a time there was a chamber in the dark. There were several really as the dark was always congealing and separating, the squelching and vast emptiness discernable and unfortunately familiar sounds to those dwelling within. In this particular chamber were two beings who with just a few more centuries would be entirely forgotten and belong entirely to their prison in the darkness. They’d found eachother some time ago and were stuck together like glue, but the darkness had other plans and it separated them. Lost was correct in the dark corridors. That separation however was recent, and the corridors ran close to one another, just an echo away should there come a call. Along the walls of this corridor there is an energy, a slight shift in what the dismal lack of a color spectrum provides. There is almost a navy hue to the dark here, bizarre as it may seem.

The nature of this forsaken place had worked its magic far too well, as the exiled king at this point was not even aware he had left the beach he was once at. These new surroundings were far more...jagged. Narrow. Columns of stone and rock stretching for what seemed like miles on up, sinister bands of navy, black, and grey creating depressive rainbows on these weathered spires. The narrow stretch gave way to a canyon, still being freshly carved from waterfalls on each side. Waterfalls. The sounds of the falling plumes morphed his surroundings. Dark became light, violet became blue, night begot day, and black became green. What was once lifeless was now anything but. A new rock to sit on soon became a stone chair in his warped mind. The flowers. The sun. The garden. "...the garden is lovely this time of year....."_____________________________________________ @even @aeleus Xion @ventus

It was an odd feeling, as if he was back in his old skin as he donned the nobody cloak that he once had under a different name. Though he was not particularly in the body of Lexaeus it felt almost natural for him to be there in the realm of darkness. The world around him was pitch black, and the only thing he could see beside him was Even. It had felt like forever since they had been side by side, back when he was a guard for Ansem the Wise and now, they were back and ready to find their master. Aeleus didn't really know why they had thought of Ansem do be there, but it seemed to be calling to them. Aeleus trusted Even even though he was a bit of a coward, he was a hundred times smarter than he was an if he said Ansem was in the pits of hell than he would go with him in order to retrieve the old man. The feeling that he was being watched was strong, holding out his right hand it was almost an instinct for him as he closed his eyes, SkySplitter his large axe sword like weapon appearing in his hand though the weight caught him off guard for a second it was second nature for him to swing in front of him as if he had done in a hundred times before. "You ready?" He said glancing down at Even beside him, the darkness didn't seem to let up and Aeleus knew that their were hundred of corridors crossing each other at any point so he was going to have to keep his guard up and fight anything that came out in their way. "Stay behind me and keep your shield up... Just tell me where to go and I will follow your lead. If we want to find the old master alive we'll have to get going... Don't know how long a person can live in a place like this." With that Aeleus took a few steps forward awaiting Even's response and direction on which way they should go in this seemingly infinite darkness. @even Xion @ventus @ansemthewise

Even nodded, silently looking at the man in front of him. His old friend and fellow apprentice, Aeleus... Both on the same mission... When rumors of Ansem existing in the Realm of Darkness emerged, Even was instantly intrigued, hoping to find his old master and, with a distant fear that it would be rejected, atone for the experiments that had started this whole mess...
"Of course." The blonde pulled his hood higher up, casting a shadow across his face. Crossing an arm over his chest, Even put his other hand out, Freeze Pride floating around him with a dazzle of snowflakes. It had been eons since he and Aeleus, or Lexaeus even, had partnered, eons since Castle Oblivion... While he himself was a coward, he trusted Aeleus with his life, knowing that if Ansem the Wise trusted him to be a guard, there had to have been a damned good reason.
"The darkness is eternal and infinite, take care not to get lost." He said, not truly so much to Aeleus, but seemingly to the darkness itself. "No better direction than forward, my friend.

Xion followed Even closely, glancing behind her to check on Ventus, hoping he would be okay with their recent corridor travel into this dark expanse she had never seen before; more than once the young teen had been grateful for the dual protection and anonymity her cloak provided, and this new journey was no exception. Since her awakening, Xion had learned many things, and made at least one new friend. As she followed Even, and listened to his and Aeleus's conversation, Xion reflected on current events with interest. She had yet to really interact with the 'new' Lexaeus, but she presumed him being, as explained to her, back in his Somebody form was better for him, and everyone else.
She wondered if she and Ventus would be able to find his friend; supposedly she was in here somewhere.. But she knew from Even that someone he knew was in here too, apparently someone important. She hurried to stay close to Even, absently wondering if it was weird that she thought of him as a protector, a guardian..a father, maybe? She knew people had those, in their families...but she didn't think that could really be applied to their situation. He had helped her in her confused, disoriented state when she had first awakened, and she felt a bond with him. She remained close to Even, her eyes searching the expanse around them. She watched as he summoned Freeze Pride, and as always was awed by the shield's appearance. His words were taken as a warning, and she again looked back to make sure Ven was with them.

A low hum filled the air almost immediately after Xion had cleared the corridor of darkness of her own creation. Buzzing emanating from the shadowy fixture, the noise steadily grew louder and louder to the point of annoyance before breaking through into a deafening tone as it finally reached the group. Bursting out from the corridor, nothing but a blur of azure metal and light could be distinguished as the humming shape spiraled into the Realm of Darkness.
"W-Woaaaah!" Waving his hands wildly as he became cognitive of his sudden change in surroundings, a certain blonde keyblader swerved wildly on what looked to be some sort of mechanical glider-ship. On top of the Keyblade Glider was none other than Ventus, frantically trying to retain his balance while narrowly avoiding the pulsating passage of navy darkness surrounding them. However, Ventus was outfitted a bit differently on this day; surrounded in what looked a suit of stylized armor. Navy blue, gold, and red color composed the plates of Ven's figure as he finally managed to come to a slow, safe stop next to the group. "Phew..."
The already obscured visor embedded in the armor's helmet fogged ever so slightly as a relieved breathe discharged into it. Shaking his head before stepping off of his glider, the board-like vehicle disappearing in a flash of bright light as if it had never been there in the first place. However, this light only persisted for a moment at best before the surrounding darkness devoured it into nothingness; sending a chill down Ven's spine. "Aqua's... in here?" Uneasily murmuring to himself, Ventus' eyes darted around the area; someone as light-filled as him feeling near-claustrophobic in a place so permeated with the opposite element. It was hard to imagine someone like Aqua was stuck in here... but this was where his Wayfinder had pointed him and Xion towards upon entering her Corridor of Darkness in the first place (The aforementioned good-luck-charm crazily flashing it's magic light the second he'd even gone into the portal between worlds.)
Speaking of his new friend, Ventus cast his gaze over towards the cloaked girl with a worried gaze unfortunately invisibly beyond his obscuring visor. "Are you sure you're okay? This place is so..." He trailed off, as if trying to find the right word to sum up just how off-putting and dangerous the shadowy realm felt. "-dark." A wordsmith, he is not.
Speaking of people not wearing armor, it was then that Ven had the opportunity to finally take notice of the other two that had accompanied them to the realm. His eyes scrolling back and forth between the two, a halting sensation suddenly traveled through the blonde's mind as recognition momentarily filled his eyes. "Wh-ghgghh..." Clutching the helmet between his gauntlets, Ventus doubled as the throbbing in his head spread down to his chest... before suddenly disappearing. In the span of seconds, seemingly random images flashed through the youth's mind faster than he could even comprehend before coming to an abrupt halt.
...
Breathing heavy, Ven unsteadily brought himself back up to his full height; holding a palm to his head, while trying to play off the sensation. "I-I'm okay?" Sounding almost like he was trying to convince himself more than the others, Ventus shifted his gaze over to Even and Aeleus; his helmet thankfully hiding the boy's uneasy expression. "Do I...? You two look kinda familiar."
"Have we met?"

Aeleus had forgotten all about the other two that followed him, Xion was so small and quiet and Ventus... well Aeleus didn't know much about him. With Even's thoughts and telling him to just move foward, That was what Aeleus did as Even had never steered him wrong before and especially in a place like this where he himself had no knowledge it was better to follow the directions of the smarter one in the group.
Aeleus started his way forward the darkness not seemingly to change in surrounding and atmosphere for quite some time. He listened to the other one speak, the voice was oddly familiar to him and then when the boy spoke up about exactly what Aeleus was thinking, it caused the taller man to turn back and stare at the boy properly. Though it was still dark, his vision was not the best but the boy in a suit of armor was not something he recognized too easily... But that voice, that voice was going to haunt him until he figure out who he was. "No...."
Without realizing it though, a sudden sensation poured over the large cloaked man as he quickly turn back to look ahead, there he could see some sort of disruption in the darkness and started to pick up the pace. "Heartless..." He said giving Even and the others a signal to follow him, it was about time something happened in this god awful place and he wasn't going to let it get the jump on him now.

Even turned to eye Ventus, frowning a bit. "Perhaps we met once in another life." was all the blonde had to say. Turning back to follow Aeleus Even glanced around, hoping to find any sort of... Rift, perhaps? Something that would lead them from his forsaken place
At the same time Aeleus caught the feeling, Even turned his hooded head towards the same direction. "That does not bode well for us... Aeleus, take point. Ventus, watch behind us... Xion, stay with me..." the very last part was partially muttered, loud enough for her to hear, but not the others....

She was glad to see Ventus had made it all right, even if he did seem uncertain about this place. She hadn't seen his armor yet, so that was pretty interesting, but it vanished, along with his peculiar transport, when Aeleus and Even spoke, looking to Ventus curiously as he asked Even if they had met before. She glanced around the area, trying to imagine what it must have taken, what horrific tragedy had to have happened here for people to be trapped here. She listened as the adults talked, her eyes snapping to Aeleus when he spoke, mentioning Heartless. She flexed her fingers, debating her choice of offense, whether she should summon her Keyblade (if that were possible, she hadn't yet tried it) or her magic. She heard Even's quiet words, and nodded, moving closer to him, glancing back to make sure Ventus was with them as closely as she thought, and then looked ahead, eyes searching the darkness for the threat she could now sense. Sensing Heartless was something she had wondered at, never having questioned the kind of sixth sense that had always seemed to be there, even if it wasn't pronounced or specific. All she knew was that she could indeed sense a dark threat, and that they were probably about to run into trouble. She stayed close to Even, ready for whatever might come at them. For her friends, she could do this.

Perhaps we met once in another life.
"What?" Ventus questioned, tilting his helmet in confusion at the scientist's cryptic answer. At least the red-haired guy gave a straight and simple answer, although denying them ever meeting before after slight hesitation. But what kind of answer was that? Ven had no idea what Even could have meant by "another life", so he looked past the fair researcher to Xion for some sort of an answer... but it seemed like she wouldn't be any help in the situation either.
Just as he was about to speak up again, Ven felt a cold sensation wash over his armored form seemingly out of nowhere. Spinning on his heels to face back down the passage, the youth's body visibly tensed as an unmistakable wave of darkness cascaded towards them. "Heartless?" He echoed Aeleus' deduction in similar caution. "What's a heartless?" Pushing the mental question away for the moment, the blonde keyblade wielder nevertheless steeled himself before running off down the hall. Rushing past Aeleus in his haste, Ven completely disregarded Even's directions in his eager preparation for a fight. The reason? Although it was nothing more than a feeling in his gut, the boy nevertheless believed that whatever it was in front of him would lead them to Aqua.
Throwing caution to the wind, nothing but a blur of pale blue and gold would be visible as he hastily dashed down the navy hall. "Bring it on!" Shouting at a headstrong volume, Ventus' pace didn't falter in the slightest while the passage widened around the keyblade wielder; it's previously pulsating walls branching out the farther the group traveled into it's depths until leading into a more large, open, and cavernous area. Meanwhile, the farther into the realm Ven traveled, the more deep and sickeningly powerful the stench of darkness seemed to permeate around them.
Nevertheless, Ven wasn't deterred in the slightest. He wouldn't just sit back anymore... He would find Aqua. "That's a promise!"

((Sorry for the delay. @aeleus you are up)) | | As the smallest of the keyblade weilders was bolting past, his platinum haired comrade not far behind him, the ball of dark energy that the colossal Darkside had been charging burst outward, and several plumes of dark energy began holding down one after the other homing on varying targets in the room and dealing harsh damage on any landed hit. The Darkside, however, was not finished. A few bursts of malicious intent would not be enough to deter so many warriors. The Darkside swept at the mouse warrior and his comrade with on colossal arm, then it swatted viciously at the boy that ran up to it. The very chamber seemed to echo and ebb with the Darkside's energy, tendrils of dark squelching and creeping its way over barely defined walls. The noise coming from the horror ws like a roar in extreme slow motion. If this chamber truly were a cavern like it appeared to imitate, threatening dirtand debris would have surely been raining down at the disturbing vibration. A great backward arch of the Heartless' spine had it tearing back its massive fist just as four more intruders were entering the chamber. [HP=27/40]

Even eyed the dark side, feeling himself lift a foot or so off of the ground. Freeze Pride floated in front of him, shielding him. "It may be large, but it's head is it's weak spot..."
In a hope to deter anything from coming near, the former Nobody snapped his fingers, a large layer of ice shimmering into existence from seemingly nowhere, blanketing the area immediatly around the Darkside. Hopefully the slick pathways would cause anything to stumble.
Slip 'n' Slide: Due to his cryokinetic abilities, he can create slick icy pathways (duration 2 posts, cooldown 3 posts)

Xion moved closer to Even, reaching to pull Ven closer too, if he would allow the contact. She was finding it very unsteadying to have the ground disturbance and small debris/dirt falling from what appeared to be the roof of a cavern they had entered into. She stared at the Heartless, only recalling seeing one once before, back in the past. She had never gotten up close and personal with one, and she certainly hoped not to this time, either. She did, however, summon a ball of Fire to hand, and a Blizzard cast in the other hand. She was afraid to attempt summoning the Keyblade she could supposedly wield in such a dangerous situation; if she failed, she would have lost time that would be valuable in this fight. She tossed both spells, aiming for the Darkside's head and hoping they make impact on target.
She thought she saw others nearby, separate from their own group; were there other people in this realm? And were they fighting this monster Heartless as a common enemy? She hoped so; if they weren't, then there would be more fighting to do. However, she put the concern of that idea away; right now, the maim concern was dealing with this Heartless threat. Hopefully they could all take it down if they worked together. She knew similar missions in her past had worked in favor of teamwork. ----- Actions Xion used Magic! Fire: Ball of fire that is launched at an opponent, causing Burn damage. Cooldown - 1 post Blizzard: Freezing crystal of ice that hones in on an enemy, causing Freeze damage. Cooldown - 1 post

Ventus slammed his heels down, skidding to a halt and stopping dead in his tracks as the gargantuan mass of sentient darkness revealed itself from within the cavern. " Huah!?" Recoiling back as the entire room shook from the Darkside's movements, Ven instinctively thrust out his arm to his side. A shard of light erupted from within the keyblader's hand before forming into the Wayward Wind Keyblade, gripped securely in his reverse grip. " Unversed? How?!" He exclaimed, baffled by the appearance of a creature he assumed wouldn't exist anymore after the destruction of his other half. Ventus wracked his brain for some sort of explanation, leaping back a few meters to dodge the wide-sweeping arm of the Darkside assaulting him idly and re-position himself next to Xion. Unfortunately, it looked like he didn't really have time at the moment to come up with an explanation for this behemoth of darkness; so much permeated off of the creature that it practically burned his face to look at the thing, even through his protective armor. Noticing Xion already flinging magic at the beast, Ventus reeled back his arm before throwing out his own weapon at the Darkside. His keyblade, cloaked in a burning aura of light, accompanied the Fire and Blizzard spells like a possessed buzz-saw aimed to slice into the Darkside with a Strike Raid before Ventus would summon it safely back into his grip. Just about ready to close in on the beast, some movement on the other side of the room attracted Ven's attention for just a moment and caused him to do a double-take even after. " ...Mickey?" Murmuring the name out in disbelief, the teen acted on impulse alone before sprinting off towards the other end of the dark passage. " It can't be... Hey, Xion! Let's head this way!" Tugging idly on his friend's sleeve, Ven urged the girl to follow as he circled around the monstrous heartless to the other end of the hall in search of the friend he'd thought he'd seen. Even if it was just his eyes playing tricks on him, Ven wouldn't be able to forgive himself for not checking. Besides, it wasn't exactly uncommon for Mickey to pop out of nowhere in strange places with that Star Shard he has. Actions: Threw a Strike Raid at the Darkside; Ven moved to The Violet Passage Strike Raid: Throwing his keyblade forward in a rapid spinning motion that mirrors the properties of a saw, Ventus waits until the blade strikes against his opponent before utilizing his ability to re-summon the weapon in his hand to deal a fair amount of damage.
