| When Xemnas had been defeated, everything fell back into place so easily. It was almost as though they hadn't left the islands, that nothing ever happened. It was a little too peaceful for their liking, much like a calm before the storm, but it was a well-deserved reprieve from all the fighting her two friends and their companions had done.
One year might have been too short but for Kairi, it still felt like forever.
Not too long after their return to the isles, King Mickey and the others had to return back home — they still had loved ones waiting for them to come home, safe and sound.
As she breathed in the salty air, she allowed the recent events to replay in her mind. Even though her journey across worlds this time had been far shorter and under unfavourable circumstances, there were still lessons that could be learnt from this experience. The first thing she had learned was that she should never react far too hastily – but then again, did she regret her choice? – for being swarmed with Heartless did not feel comfortable at all. It wasn't the first time she had put herself in such a position and, had it not been for her silver-haired friend, Kairi would have probably have been in grave danger.
She also realised that she could see beyond the surface (she had recognised Riku after all, in spite of the fact that he took on his opponent's exterior). It wasn't the first time that had happened; she could recognise Sora too, when he had lost his heart and turned into a mere Shadow Heartless, following them but refusing to attack.
There was a tug in her heart – was it Namine? – as her boat neared the dock of their playground. Although they were no longer kids anymore, Kairi didn't feel any shame in referring to it as their little playground. They still spent their time there, after all. Although Destiny Islands were a huge place, they were still merely an island.
When she sees her friends on the island, with Sora seated comfortably on the Paopu Tree, she quickly made her way over. Had it been two years ago, she would have settled for doing a jump scare on one of them. Sora was a little easier to spook as compared to Riku, mostly because he was oblivious to... many things but she found it rather endearing: it was what made Sora, well, Sora.
"You ever think that Roxas and Naminé are enjoying this?" she questioned the other two, her fingers intertwined with each other behind her back as she came up to the two of them. She still promised the both of them that she and Sora would spend time together. Even though Naminé is a Nobody, Kairi had seen the way Roxas and Naminé interacted with each other: they were happy and what kind of person would she be if she were to go back on her word?

"Gotta clear my head of anger and greed." Sora watched the glassy sea dance on for miles, the swaying of its waves hardly fettered by the gentle caress of the breeze. Ocean spray, like spittle from the mouth of a great, undersea god, assailed his legs with every crash of the tide, carried up the rocky island's side by the wind and the persistence of nature. The boy's elbows rested on his knees as he slouched forward, gaze locked on the horizon. He hadn't been to the mainland in forever. Honestly, he hadn't been to the Islands in forever. It felt humbling to be home again, just like it had the last time he'd come home. Part of it, he figured, was the persistent fear that it might get washed away again. The other part of it — the part he understood pretty well — was how little it changed. Everything was exactly as he left it. The coconuts on the trees were a little closer to the ground now and he figured that the drawings he'd made in the cave were still there. The only difference was how small it all felt, how homely. Sitting beside Riku, he couldn't help but think about how far they'd come since the raft. A grin spread across Sora's face as he remembered the Highwind. He was halfway to bringing it up when Kairi's voice caught him by surprise. Sora glanced at her over his shoulder, his eyes caught somewhere between bewilderment and simple joy. He greeted the redhead with a wave and a smile, not giving her question any thought whatsoever. "They've gotta be," he answered, confident. "This place is great. Plus, it's somewhere new, right? For them, I mean."Sora turned back to the ocean, his eyes, of the same color as the waves, traveling over the distant shoreline of the mainland. He wondered, absently, whether or not Roxas would've appreciated it for the same reasons he did. "If Roxas is anything like me, seeing new things, that's gotta get him jazzed up," Sora finally summarized. A second later, he turned his gaze to his best friend. "What do you think, Riku? Anybody who's anybody would love this place, right?"Sora kicked his legs against the tree's trunk and debated hopping down. The sand beneath his feet was still fresh, spared the few years of turnover that would've resulted from him getting his butt kicked across it. He could still remember most of his spars with Riku, and a couple of his fights with the others. Beyond that, though, he could only imagine that few others bothered to tread where they were currently standing. The thing that made the island cool, as a kid, was the fact that it was kinda like their own private getaway. He was sure that his parents were still there somewhere, and he knew that maybe another family lived on the island, but... nobody really went there. It was, in a way, part of the reason he liked Kairi and Riku. Where other kids were the type to shy away from coming there, afraid of sharks or big fish or something, they weren't. Riku was too brave and Kairi was too smart for stuff like that. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOXOGRPHY 2.0

Riku stood on the little rocky island just off the coast, leaned against the Paopu tree like normal. His best friend was at his side, the sound of the ocean waves relaxing him. The silver-haired teen closed his eyes and let out a happy sigh. He was so relaxed, in fact, that he didn't even see Kairi coming. At the sound of her voice though, he turned towards her and smiled, waving in greeting to his other friend. She asked if Roxas and Namine were enjoying this, but Riku wasn't sure how to respond. He figured the question was more directed towards Sora anyway. He knew Roxas and Namine a bit, the latter more than the former, but it wasn't like they were friends or anything.
In fact, in the case of Roxas, they were probably closer to enemies. Still, he crossed his arms and responded to Sora when he asked a more general question to him. "Two years ago, I would've answered differently. I used to think that this world was small and confining. Now, though... I think it's very relaxing. You can think more clearly than most anywhere else. So yeah, i'd have to agree. Everyone should love this place. Compared to most everywhere else, it's a paradise." He nodded slightly. "I'm sure Roxas and Namine are happy here." After his answer, he looked towards Kairi, then to Sora. "Can you... feel them?"
He wasn't entirely sure if the question made a whole lot of sense. Then again, he had never been in the situation they were. Having a Nobody and later rejoining with them was a concept beyond his mind. He knew how these things worked mechanically. His time with DiZ-- or Ansem the Wise-- taught him a lot about those sorts of things, but he lacked the learned experience to truly know what it was like.

| Kairi nodded and there was a humming in her heart that emphasized her point; a familiar warmth. The Princess realised she hadn't been complete until Naminé fused back with her. "I can. When she went back to where she came from," she brought a hand to rest over her heart. "It's though I finally feel like myself again. More... well, wholesome."
She remembered her conversation with Roxas. "I didn't know who Naminé was until Roxas called out to her," Kairi informs the two of them, wanting to delve what happened during the time they had been away. She remembers her conversation with the latter, sounding so utterly confused and possibly afraid for himself. "He mistook me for her."
She climbed onto the empty space between Sora and Riku, making herself comfortable there. Two years ago, they had watched the sunset, deep in discussion about what other worlds were waiting out there. Now, they knew. Her legs swung back and forth, mimicking Sora's actions, but with less vigour. Kairi thought about the friends she had made – Hayner, Pence and Olette – when she had first ended up in Twilight Town. She wondered how they were doing; she had heard that they tried to find her as well and led Sora in her direction.
After sinking into a melancholic silence, Kairi bopped the two of them on their heads – with Sora being on her right and Riku being on her left. "You guys really made me worry," she half-scolded them, an expression of annoyance written across her face. "I don't even know how you're going to catch up with school now."

"Gotta clear my head of anger and greed." It was hard to explain whether or not he actually felt Roxas inside of him. In a sense, he figured Roxas was probably there, some hidden aspect of his mind and heart that found no escape until he plunged a keyblade through his chest. In another way, though, Roxas was an entirely separate entity, resting inside of Sora until he could take his place on the outside once again. Absently, the brunette's hand flickered to his heart, scratching at the flesh beneath his shirt.Roxas was a lot of things. He was subtle, hard to understand; in fact, sometimes, Sora was pretty sure that his other was a lot more like Riku than him. Still, he couldn't tell if he felt Roxas in there or not.He listened, a little incredulous, to Kairi's story about the blonde boy. He couldn't say he blamed Roxas for mistaking her for Naminé. They had a very similar look to them, as if they were two sides of the same coin. On the other hand, he knew Kairi far better, and he figured he probably couldn't shake the image of her out of his head even if he tried. She was burned in there permanently, and ironically enough, only her other could ever even try to remove her.Things fell into a comfortable silence while Sora contemplated his answer, trying to find a good way to phrase what he was thinking. When nothing came to mind, Kairi managed to successfully change the subject, sparing Sora from having to grasp vaguely for words. He studied her while she spoke, a far off look in his eyes."Huh," he mumbled, turning his empty gaze back to the horizon when she brought up school. "School."A single bead of sweat beat its way down his cheek as he thought of his homeroom teacher, who was probably super mad at him, and all of the friends he'd left behind there. The far away look in his eyes turned into not-so-subtle panic as he thought about all the make up work he was going to have to do.There was no way he was gonna get an extension. Did he even make it to the... were he and Kairi even in the same grade anymore? Oh, man.Oh, no; that meant he was still a year behind Riku, too! The corners of Sora's mouth twitched upward in a nervous, terrified looking grin as he stared out at the distant mainland, imagining the mountains and mountains of paperwork he was going to have to do."M-maybe they give heroes special diplomas," he hoped aloud, still sort of terrified. "RIku, they totally do that, don't they?"He turned to his best friend for support, his face frozen with abject horror.MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOXOGRPHY 2.0

Riku listened to Kairi's response, giving a nod to show he heard her. He hoped Namine was happy where she was now, if she was even aware at all. That girl had gone through a lot of hardship the first time Riku met her, and it didn't seem to let up at all... which is why he ended up taking pity on her in the end and showing mercy when he was given the order to wipe her from existence. She had done a lot for him, so he figured he at least owed her that much. Furthermore, Kairi's answer made him think about what it must be like to feel incomplete in the most literal sense. Sure, he had moments in his life where he felt incomplete himself, but never like that.
Never having a literal piece of himself missing. At the mention of Roxas once more, about how he made contact with Kairi, Riku nodded. "Yeah. I remember that." Not firsthand, of course. No, as with a lot of things, he learned that from DiZ. It was the day Roxas fell from the clock tower. "For my part, I regret putting him in that town." He wished things could have happened differently. He had a lot of regrets in his life, but what he did, he did for his friends. In this case, for Sora. He wouldn't dare regret facilitating his best friend's awakening. He just wished it could have been done another way.
A smile returned to the teen's face, however, when Kairi moved to sit next to him and Sora. It soon faded, however, when he noticed that the young woman had fallen silent. He looked at her, raising an eyebrow in slight confusion. She snapped out of her melancholy in what seemed like an instant to Riku and bopped him and Sora on the head, scolding them about how they made her worry. "Ow!" The young Master rubbed the back of his head gingerly. "I know." He sighed, looking out at the ocean. "I'm sorry." He had explained why he couldn't return before. He was ashamed. He thought they wouldn't want to see him, but when he saw Kairi in trouble, back at the Organization's castle... he couldn't just walk away.
He had to help. In hindsight, he was glad he did. If he hadn't, who knows where he would be now? Or what would have happened to his friends? He was snapped out of his thoughts when Kairi brought up something he hadn't even considered; school. The teen wasn't too worried, though. He was a good student back before all of this. Always got his homework done on time, did extra credit, maintained an A-B average. It wouldn't be too difficult to get caught up and graduate... though he'd be a little behind. A smirk forming on his lips, he spoke. "Man, I bet Sora wishes he took on some extra credit." He teased, laughing at the younger teen's reaction to school being brought up.

| Finding satisfaction in Riku's cry of pain, Kairi turned her gaze to the horizon again. Even though she had vague memories of her past, she did not remember Radiant Garden having sceneries like this, the kind that would forever be ingrained into one's memory.
Ah, there it was – the mention of a town. She needed to bring it up to them, especially Sora. Riku might remember but Sora? She wasn't even sure whether he was aware that he had been a vague memory at the time, even though the memories of Riku had been as clear as the day skies. Not even Selphie could remember who Sora was but she remembered Riku very clearly and she too wondered what had happened to him. Kairi wasn't able to tell her the truth; she couldn't.
"You know, something weird happened that year. Nobody really remembered Sora, even myself, but there was something missing," Kairi began to explain the year without her best friends. She remembered stopping by Sora's place a lot, staring out the window of the boy whose face she could never recall, and just staring at the window as though she were waiting for someone. Kairi turned to her friend and asked, "Do you know what happened? Please, tell me if you do."
Kairi giggled. "Don't worry, Sora. I'll help you out and I'm sure Riku would too," she offered. With the boys missing school for a year, she had a feeling that the two of them would be held back for a year. Kairi had been gone for a while but not as long as her two friends.

"Gotta clear my head of anger and greed." "Man, I never thought the day would come when I wished for more work," Sora moaned, imagining the piles and piles of extra credit he would've needed to balance out an entire year off from school. He wasn't sure that there was enough printer paper in the world for that much time off. Wiping a single faux-tear from the corner of his left eye, the brown haired boy turned his thoughts elsewhere.Funnily enough, he'd already been thinking about Castle Oblivion when Kairi brought up the year in question. A familiar shock of blonde hair surfaced in his memory, and as he pictured Naminé's face, he couldn't help but smile. It was hard not to remember her fondly, even after all the things that she'd done. In the end, she'd made amends for altering the boy's memory, and without her change of heart... he wasn't sure he would've made it out of Castle Oblivion alive. It was still hard for him to remember all of the things he'd seen and done inside of the Castle. Some of the memories were hazy, but he could feel them, and as he called them to mind, he couldn't help but to sing along to the melody of memory that assailed him."In this place," he began, solemnly repeating the words told to him, "to find is to lose and to lose is to find."It didn't take him much longer to get to the point."After we beat Ansem, I wound up in this place called Castle Oblivion. They told me that, the higher I climbed, the more people I fought there, the more I'd forget... but I had to get through it, otherwise... well, I knew something bad would happen. I could feel it."Sora turned to his friends, his blue eyes filled with the same optimism as his heart. "So, I climbed."
There was no joy in his statement, no mirth in the boy so usually full of it. Castle Oblivion was honestly one of the few times in his life that he'd genuinely felt much fear. He wasn't afraid of Xemnas or Ansem, but Marluxia... the fear Marluxia put in him was a different kind of fear, one caused by something other than raw power."It turned out that Naminé was the one changing my memories, and the memories of everyone that knew me, erasing the parts that a guy named Marluxia needed her to, changing things so that it all worked out. In the end, she couldn't do it anymore, and..."The youth pushed both of his fists together over his chests, mimicking a big kaboom."I ended up saving her, but really, I think it's her that saved me. She put me in this pod thing that fixed all my memories, and the memories of everyone I knew," he concluded. "If she hadn't fixed me, none of you guys would remember who I am. Even I wouldn't know, I think."The next pause took longer than the one before it. The next part took a little bit of explaining and, to be honest, he hadn't ever intended to bring it up. How could he explain how he knew what he knew? How could he explain not remembering what he knew in the first place? "I forgot about it, for a little while. When she fixed everyone else's memories, she had to break mine a little." At the end of the day, memory was a tricky thing; even without a magical blonde girl there to mess with them, memories sometimes got lost and distorted by time. He didn't know how he remembered things when he did, only that it came to him in the depths of a dark, dark dream. He sniffed, once, and thumbed the tip of his nose, flicking away some imperceptible speck of dust that must've been there."I didn't remember any of it for a long time. Not until I fought Xemnas again, inside of that dream. I saw Naminé there, and Roxas, and someone else too... and then I just remembered it all, as if I should've known the whole time."It was weird; he hadn't thought about how strange the entire situation was until he was forced to repeat it. He could've kept it in, hid it away to himself, but that wasn't his style. Besides, he wasn't sure how much Kairi knew about the whole situation. He just hoped that she wasn't gonna get mad at him for forgetting her, even if he technically hadn't.
"It was pretty crazy."

Looking over at Sora as he explained what happened, he gave nod towards the younger boy before looking back at Kairi. "Yeah, that's the long and short of it, I guess." He smiled. "You know the rest I suppose. I worked with Ansem the Wise and Namine to restore his memories. I fought Roxas, we put him in that virtual Twilight Town, and in the end, we succeeded in waking this knucklehead up." He smiled at Sora. That was a rather turbulent time in all of their lives. It wasn't over just yet. It never truly would be. But for the moment, they could enjoy some well-deserved normalcy.
He wasn't under any delusion that they would be able to enjoy this forever, though. There was still one more battle to be fought. One more battle to be won... and it would be their hardest one yet. Victory was never guaranteed, but Riku felt that this victory would be harder-won than any they've had so far. The stakes have never been higher. Same for the danger. He sincerely hoped they were all ready. It could just be nerves, but the silver-haired teen had a bad feeling about all of this. Turning to his friends after remaining silent for a good while, he asked them a question, hoping for a bit of reassurance.
"Do you guys think we're ready? I mean, we've done everything we can, I suppose, but I can't seem to shake the feeling that we're headed towards disaster."

| "I feel like they deserve a chance to be their own person though," Kairi's eyes furrowed together. "If only there was a way for them to exist as individuals, not just a part of us."
There is the familiar humming – almost like singing – in her heart once again and Kairi knows Naminé has heard her. Although Kairi considered Selphie to be one of her closest female friends, Naminé come as a close second, considering that they shared the same heart.
Although Hollow Bastion held some pretty bad memories for her, Radiant Garden did not. In fact, she recalled that her grandmother often told her stories and the first memory of it re-emerged two years ago while she had been in Sora's heart.
"It doesn't matter. At least it's going to be the three of us," Kairi chirps, glancing at Sora for a brief moment before directing her gaze to Riku. Then she remembers Roxas and Naminé, residing deep within her heart, and she quickly corrects herself, "Five of us."
With the two of them, Kairi knew that they could pull through any obstacle that life decided to throw in their way. "Looks like school would have to be put on hold then," Kairi said, knowing that the next time they were required to go on another journey, they wouldn't be coming back to Destiny Islands for a while.

"Gotta clear my head of anger and greed." It was both inspiring and strange how quickly Kairi could change topics, shifting between normalcy and the weirdness of their lives without coming off as crazy. She was probably the only person he knew that could manage to do it; people often told him that he sounded otherworldly, and though they were often right, he couldn't help but wonder if Kairi was exempt to that. Nothing she said ever really struck him as being too strange or exotic, a mark of her mastery over the words he never found the time to discover.Riku was the same way, but there was something nebulous about him that made Sora feel like they were more alike than he and Kairi were. That manifested itself in different ways, though. Both boys were heroes in their own right, and as Kairi found herself drifting closer and closer to both of them, Sora couldn't help but feel sure that Kairi would be a hero one day too. Technically, she already was.It must've taken her a lot to leave school and her other friends behind, even if it was only a shelving, not a shedding. His mind once again on school, Sora pulled his feet up so that he was perched, indian style, on the tree beneath him. Learning was something he did all the time. In a way, at least, it was something he experienced daily. Every new world, every distant star, was a lesson waiting to be learned in a school of its own."Maybe Yen Sid can teach me stuff," Sora ventured. "He's a wizard, so he's gotta be smart, right?"Plus, he had so many books just waiting to be opened. Sora was pretty sure that they were all expert treatises on magic or something like that, but it wouldn't have shocked him in the slightest to find that they were filled with normal stuff, too. Yen Sid didn't seem like the kind of guy who got by on luck or anything like that. If anything, he was a careful, meticulous planner.Or maybe he was just a crazy old guy who got plenty of stuff right because he knew magic. That was an equally plausible explanation for the old man's demeanor, the way he always struck Sora as if he knew something that the young boy didn't, or even couldn't, know. It was strange to even think about, and like that, he pushed the thought out of his mind like a wind might a leaf."I do think we're ready though," Sora said, continuing on with what he wanted to say before he got lost in thought. "The future doesn't scare me all that much. It'll come no matter what, and I don't really wanna be afraid when it gets here."He knew Riku wasn't talking about fear, but he hoped the message stood on its own regardless."I figure it'll all work out, y'know?"

'They're own people...' Riku thought solemnly as Kairi mentioned wanting her's and Sora's Nobodies to be their own people. Was that even possible? Not long ago, he would have said that it wasn't. Then again, he had seen firsthand that Nobodies could think and act independently of their original selves. They had their own goals, their own dreams, their own friends. That being the case... maybe it wasn't a long shot to hope that they could one day be their own people. Those serious thoughts were soon dispelled, however, when Sora mentioned possibly getting help from Yen Sid with his homework.
He chuckled slightly. "I guess it's that hopeless then? You have to get the wizard to help you with your algebra." He grinned at Sora after his joke, his expression turning serious once more, however, when Sora stated that they were ready and everything would work out. "You're right. We've made it this far. We just need to stay strong for the final push." Riku found himself more hopeful after that. Sora tended to have that effect on people from as far back as he could remember. The boy even gave him strength in some of his darkest times. "Unfortunately, though, I think Kairi's right. School will have to wait for a bit. We've got some worlds to save." He smiled confidently.

| "I don't think there's anything to really be afraid about. We've been on some crazy adventures," Kairi says a reminder of their first trip away from Destiny Islands. Kairi had been asleep for the most part during her first time other worlds but the second time she had been away, at least she had been reunited with her best friends and that was good enough.
Kairi giggled at Riku's jab at Sora's hopelessness when it comes to learning new things. At least, theoretically. He had never been the studious type to begin with and she had joined him in neglecting some of it as well. That one year allowed her to focus all her time and effort into her studies, in spite of the fact she probably caught herself staring wistfully out the window, at the island she had always considered to be their playground — it still was considered, even until now.
"He's hopeless without us, remember?" Kairi reminded, having said the same thing. After all, for as long as the two of them knew Sora, he had always been prioritised the needs of others before himself. That selflessness is basically who Sora is, the essence of his heart. "I'll probably need to tell my father that I'll be away for a bit but I have responsibilities that carry far more weight than school ever will."
She still had responsibilities not just as a Princess of Heart but as a daughter.

"Gotta clear my head of anger and greed." The thought of Yen Sid actually teaching Sora algebra was both hilarious and stressful. Sora ran a hand through his hair at the thought, pulling a little on the chocolate colored locks that constituted the crown of his head. Whether he tossed school to the sideline or focused on it exclusively, it wasn't gonna be very fun for him. Schoolwork was the most boring part of his life before he'd gotten a Keyblade, and now, after getting one... ugh, the very idea made him wanna hurl a little. He really didn't know how he felt about the idea of going back. He was close to everybody, of course, but... he didn't miss the kids at school like he did his friends elsewhere. They didn't need him as much, and he couldn't say he'd left much of an impact on them. That wasn't a bad thing; it didn't make him like them any less, but they weren't in the forefront of his mind as much as Riku and Kairi were, as much as Donald and Goofy were, or even as much as Chip and Dale were. They were his friends too, but they all moving on with their lives on the Island. What did he really have in common with them?Plenty, actually.Sora smiled at the thought of days spent on the playground and pushed any thoughts of never seeing the other kids again way out of mind. He'd come back to 'em when he got the chance. The people he needed to see more urgently were his parents. How long had it been since he'd checked in with them and actually proven that he still existed? Did they think that he'd just gone off to sea one day, determined to be a pirate? Honestly, that wasn't too far off from the truth. The sea had given way to the stars, and piracy to heroism, but he was still kinda drifting from place to place."What're you gonna tell 'im?" Sora asked, looking over at Kairi with natural curiosity playing out on his face. "I have no idea what I'm gonna tell my parents."About any of it. At all.He didn't want them to worry. They didn't deserve to worry for him. Plus, he was in such capable hands; between Kairi, Riku, Lea, and the friends he'd made in the stars... it was hard to imagine him being in real trouble for long, even with darkness budding like a rose on the horizon."I feel like they're gonna kill me," he muttered, nervously scratching his cheek. "You guys'll totally back me up when I go talk to them, right?"

"Right." Riku agreed with Kairi as well when she stated that everything would be fine. He regretted showing that little bit of weakness there, but he couldn't help but voice his concerns around his closest friends. He felt more sure now. Ready to fight alongside them to whatever end they were heading towards. Riku couldn't help but think, however, that them fighting at all would bring about the end of all things. He had no evidence to back this feeling up, though, so he pushed it out of his mind and instead focused on his parents like Sora and Kairi were. His mom wasn't who he was worried about.
She was a pretty passive parent, so she might accept whatever far-fetched story Riku told her. His father was a different story, though. He had told the man before everything happened that he and his friends were going out to sea to see other worlds. Riku's ever-practical father, however, just assumed he would fail and even if he did go off to sea, he'd be home within a day or so. Riku was always allowed more leeway than most other kids his age. He had been out on his father's fishing boat since he was barely eight years old. He knew the ins and outs of nautical travel, so the silver-haired teen's father trusted him to keep himself and his friends safe.
That is, if he even got to the point where he and his friends made a seaworthy vessel. "My dad will probably need for me to do some explaining. I've thought more than once about telling him the whole story." He knew how irresponsible that would be. He wasn't supposed to reveal the existence of other worlds to people, even his parents. Still, that didn't stop him from toying around with the idea. It would be a simple matter to prove what he was saying. He could even take his father to another world if he truly wanted to. But he wouldn't. Riku was aware that as a Master, he should set higher standards for himself.
"But I won't. I've thought about just telling him that we've been at sea for the past year. He might believe that." There were holes in that story, especially concerning Kairi returning before they did... but it was at least a start. Smiling at Sora, Riku pat him on the back. "Don't worry Sora. We'll figure something out to tell them. Even if we have to come up with some sort of elaborate lie, i've got your back. I'm sure Kairi does too."
