Deumion was faced with a horrible decision. The witch summoned a series of shadow-like creatures, four of which climbed over the side of the airship while two remained for Deumion. This sorceress seemed to be methodical in her vileness, but she vastly underestimated the holy beast Phrekyos. That was no simple large dog he rode into combat. Phrekyos was a beast whose magical prowess was second only to Deumion.
"You clearly do not know the power of my loyal friend, Phrekyos. My friend, I leave the shadows to you!"
Now, with no innocents on the deck of the ship, Deumion could stretch the legs of his magical capabilities. A being as evil as she seemed to be would have to be dealt with using the full power he had at his disposal. A massive pillar of light instantly erupted from beneath not only the faerie, but her shadow-like minions she had called to her side. Holy XVI was the perfect answer to deal with a being that vile.
-----
Phrekyos heard the command immediately, and instantly leapt into the air to close his jaws around one of the assailants, while casting a spell on another, before it even made landfall. Several large chunks of Icestorm XVI rained down upon the second Neoshadow as Phrekyos bounded towards the other side of the ship, where the other two shadows made their way to the escaping crew.
He hoped that he would be able to work fast enough to make it to the other side before lethal damage could be dealt to the crew on the other side. The canine called out to the female bystander who'd happened upon the area.
"If you can fight, then help me rescue these people! If not, you should run! This place has become dangerous!"

Sensing that lurking darkness was what prompted the woman to send off the raven which seemed to manifest directly from the array of jagged black feathers at her collar. He flew off in the direction of those eyes and he took roost in one of the tall nearby conifers. Maleficent would collect her familiar later.
As for the foolish warrior of the light and his ghost like mutt, Maleficent glared icily forward magic roiling and raking over her billowing robe like a quake tilling earth. As she was focusing on the boy, her eyes and the orb on her staff began to illuminate the angular features of her face. She was drawing on some sort of power.
At the same time, the boy was casting his spell, one Maleficent made the mistake of severely underestimating. When the column of holy light erupted beneath her she was left entirely open to the attack and it burned through her viciously. She howled in pain, hunching over to cover her face and shudder from the shock of such radiance in attempt to eradicate her. Her breathing labored, her body coiled she returned her gaze to the much more worthy adversary. That spell had such vile divinity and another could subdue her. No matter. She only wanted the ship. Using her still glowing staff as a crutch she lifted herself up to a slouchier version of her height before she lifted her free hand toward her target and she swiped a vertical line in the air before her. The very fabric of reality warped just feet before the warrior, a gateway into cosmic endlessness, a maw to peer into. Several of these tears in reality began to manifest and from them sped forward flaming hunks of meteors directly toward the boy leaving no choice but to dive or allow himself to be crashed into. Let the warrior and his mangy beast deal with that.
Satisfied, Maleficent poured what was left of her into lifting the ship higher and higher before sinking into the dark corridor and channeling it's hold onto the entire structure. The sorceress and ship were entirely gone and before the raven flew off once more and was swallowed by unseen darkness it cast a meaningful glance toward the waiting being in the shadows and a single feather floated gracefully down from the tree. A memorable calling card indeed.

The queen was more interested in seeing the destruction that was falling upon this small town. Maleficent was certainly a powerful woman and the Queen admired that a bit. Grimhilde was aware of her short comings as a sorceress but that did not light her jealousy. Had the queen been more beautiful, then that may have caused a bit of a problem between the two. The queen had been self taught in her own ways of alchemy while she was sure that the woman before her had far more training than she herself had. It was obvious by the way she presented herself.
But, alas, the day was over and the queen was working her way to ending this and making her exit. Grimhilde's eyes moved over to the beast as she shook her head. "Help is not something you'll receive from me. But you're right, it looks like this is about over. I should take my leave." She commented as he eyes drifted to a black raven that had appeared almost out of nowhere. When Maleficent was hit with the Holy, the queen was surprised she stayed standing. A power like that must have burned someone as evil as she seemed. Yet, there she was standing and mustering up the power to cast down meteor. It was very admirable.
Grimhilde's eyes drifted back to the raven as it took off once more before leaving a feather behind in it's wake. It disappeared into the air much like Maleficent had with her newly obtained air ship. That was the queen's queue to make her way out before the light beings realized just how dark she was. That was something she wanted to keep secret for the time. Until she was able to repair her mirror, she truly wanted to avoid any unnecessary battles. The power here wouldn't be able to assist her with her current objective. But, this was certainly an ally she wanted to have. The queen reached out her hand and collected the falling feather. "I suppose we'll have a moment to speak after all. But, it will need to wait. Just for the moment..." the queen told herself before touching her necklace and making her own exit. This was over and she was no closer to finding a way to mend her mirror.

Today was not a good day. Deumion had managed to dodge the queen's meteors, but at the cost of allowing her to escape with the airship. Lives had been lost this day, lives that Deumion may have prevented. Tears began to well from his eyes as Phrekyos finished the last of the Heartless. He landed next to the queen, but hadn't said a word as she vanished.
His holy beast said nothing as well, knowing full well the weight this event held on his companion's heart. The beast buried his head between his paws. He laid at his master's feet in the solemn moment. As the two wasted hours staring at the sun set before leaving the world. Deumion did not know what he would do next.
