Namine reached out and stroked the spot on Chirithy’s head that is known as the calming spot for cats. The spot laid just above the nose and in between the eyes. She would stroke down from the middle of forehead to about halfway down the bridge of the nose. She continued this action several times before hearing Lauriam chuckle.
She looked up at him with curious eyes. She did not understand why he chuckled. I was an honest question. Just because this was all happening in his head and heart did not make it any less real. Even if she and Chirithy, plus anything that dwells here now were mere shadows cast by Lauriam’s subconsciousness did not mean that it did not hold weight on the actual beings here now.
Namine locked eyes with him as he gave her permission to stay with the Chirithy and that he would have to go it alone. This took her aback and she tilted her head at him and kept her eyes on him as he walked past her to engage the hooded figure. This was the first time he ever given her permission to do anything, let alone make her own decision. It was true that she could be affected by the outcome of this event.
She looked back down at the sleeping Chirithy. “Heroes……They always think they have to go it alone.” Namine got up and started to float her way towards Lauriam to give him a piece of her mind, but his heart and the darkness around them had other ideas. Just as she made her way towards the platform of following roses, the heat became overwhelming, and she was blasted back with a burst of flames. She let out a scream as her hair, skin, and dress got singed. She fell back near the Chirithy with a loud crash for someone who had been floating along this whole time.
Namine groaned as she sat up, the current platform cool to the touch and much welcomed after the heat she just endured. She quickly patted herself over as red embers from the burns still smoked on her. After she put herself out, she got to her feet rather uncoordinated. “Ouch.” She said as a delayed reaction. “I can physically feel pain here…..noted.” She steadied herself and found that she was once again floating inches above the platform.
She once again made her way through the door to the other platform, though way more cautiously. Right when she reached the edge of the stage where the rose petals feel and disintegrated in flames; She put her hand up in front of her and slowly moved it forward. Once more as her hand was about to cross over the platform, she felt heat, and a red, hazy barrier appeared in front of her hand. She pulled it back quickly before it met the barrier.
The Memory Witch could not get passed it. All she could do was helpless watch from this distance. She looked around her for some answer to magically appear, a way through, anything! She looked back toward the knocked out Chirithy. She sighed and walked back to the sleeping creature and sank to her knees. She could not get through the barrier to help. There was nothing she could do other then watch, watch and pray.
She scooped up the little creature in arms. She was not sure if Lauriam would be able to hear her through the barrier, but even so, as tears ran down her cheeks and on the to the little creature’s face, she prayed for the man that once hurt her and was an enemy. “You are not alone.” She spoke softly but it echoed all around.
“Please be mindful, be careful, be safe.” Namine’s safe return relied on Lauriam. She never woke without the help of a Keyblader before. But her safety was not on her mind as she looked on, feeling helpless and useless. Uttering the only prayer that she knew for this kind of situation. “And may your heart be your guiding key.”
