Darkness. There was nothing but Darkness. Every corner, every step, it was everywhere. It was a feeling that was very familiar to Ardyn. The Accursed had found himself on the beach in the Realm of Darkness. The only thing illuminating the area was a moon perched above the seemingly endless dark ocean in front of him. The rocks around him were glowing a faint purple color, even the one he was sitting on. "This is good, isn't it?" Ardyn said out loud. It's not like anyone was around to hear him anyway. There was a solemn look on his face as he contemplated his situation. It typically wasn't like Ardyn to be as serious as he was. He had potentially gotten his revenge against his own bloodline and removed the gods and the Crystal from the world, but here he was. Was it not enough to eradicate the gods, was his revenge just a facade? Or did he have some sort of higher purpose?
Could he have been granted a second chance by fate? Would it be terribly ironic if it was the Crystal that gave him a second chance? He scoffed at the idea. The gods and their Crystal had abandoned him in the past, why would they ever help him? The solitude somewhat reminded him of his time imprisoned in Angelgard for thousands of years. Maybe he was actually dead and this was his Hell, or would he consider this his Heaven? Regardless, it didn't bother him. He had no reason to repent, all of his actions were justified. The gods and Crystal betrayed him, so did his people, and ultimately his brother. As Ardyn was looking out toward the water, some dark creatures had formed on the beach. They were jet black with yellow eyes. The Accursed looked over to them and he had gotten up slowly, not knowing they were the Heartless. The Shadows bounced around for a little bit and their antenna's wiggled.
"Curious little fellows aren't you? You're not like other daemons I've seen." Ardyn spoke out to the mindless beasts, not expecting a reply in the first place. He knew they weren't daemons, but they also weren't something that he recognized. However it didn't seem like the creatures were apt to attack him. Was his own Darkness protecting him from the creatures somehow? Though he pondered something. He lifted his left hand up and faced it toward the Shadows. Darkness covered his entire hand and it encroached its way to the Heartless. Ardyn's darkness had entangled the Heartless and they slowly got absorbed into his body until there was nothing left. The Darkness disappeared from his hand. His eyes had become a bright yellow for a moment with black sclera, temporarily showing his demon form before it subsided. Ardyn didn't feel any different, but of course they were lesser creatures and he had already spent ten years amassing daemons into his body.
He would then tip his hat using the same hand that he had used to absorb the Heartless and do a slight bow. "Why thank you for your service gentlemen." Ardyn smiled again before straightening up again, snapping out of his serious funk. While it may have been his curse to be immortal, it never felt better being alive! That is to say, if his revenge was truly complete, he could rule over his own kingdom uncontested. What a glorious day indeed.

[attr="class","parm"] [attr="class","parmimg"]
[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] I only.. wanted to protect my sister. Why? Why have the gods done this to him? Not only did he lose his home, his family and his throne. No, he couldn't even give the blade to Noctis, thanks to Ardyn. He was slain, turned into a beast and send against the man he had just acknowledged as king. The jester really seemed to enjoy torturing his family... It was pure agony he had to go through, when his already dead body was revived by the man, his limps moving on without him able to control them anymore. He could only watch as his veins were filled with the curse and everything was no longer him. All he could do was fight the control as much as he could and at least attempt to help the king, trying to assure him that killing him.. was alright.
Feeling the Armiger piercing through him was painful, but this pain could never reach the agony he had to go through when he was turned into this daemon. When he fell into darkness, the last emotion he could feel was one. Relief. He could return to his mother and his sister now, reuniting with them in the heavens. This was his last wish, but it seemed the gods had other plans for him.. He didn't open his eyes to look into the face of his sister in the heavens, but found himself staring at darkness above him. Everything was covered by black and purple clouds, no light of a moon or sun to be seen. Where was he? What he could make out around him did not resemble anything he knew. His limps were heavy and it took him a while to finally sit up, his eyes adjusting to the strange darkness around him, making out the dark stones and his surroundings.
Finally being able to get up, he found himself wandering the darkness, eyes sometimes falling to the magitec-arm that was back on his body. Was this some kind of bad joke? Why...? Why was it attached on his body again? And why did everything look the same? He had the feeling he was wandering for hours, but the way he walked seemed endless and strangely enough, he didn't feel any hunger or thirst. Maybe he was dead after all and this was some kind of hell he had ended up in? Was it because he had been infected by hate and his mind poisoned by the wish of revenge?
He hadn't noticed how the scenery had shifted around him, his attention only drawn back to reality when he didn't hear the clicking of his boots on stone anymore, but felt his feet sink into something slightly. Casting his two-.colored eyes downward, he found himself standing on dark sand. Sand? His eyes traveled up again, seeing a dim light in the horizon, an ocean seeming to have appeared out of nowhere. When had Ravus entered a beach? Was he slowly losing connection to reality? But what he saw somewhere in front of him was making him shiver, color draining from his already pale face when he made out the figure close to the water. That hat.. that voice.. that attire.
“Ardyn...”,he hissed his voice, feeling a surge of hate move up his chest.
“To find myself in this hell with you... are the gods playing with me?”
His voice was full of hate and disgust for this creature.

He heard a familiar voice call out his name. His eyes focused attention to Ravus Nox Fleuret. "Ahh, now that's a familiar face. High Commander Ravus Nox Fleuret ..or should I say EX-High Commander?" Ardyn pondered and taunted his fellow imperial 'comrade.' "The Gods are nothing but a fairy tale now I'm afraid. Mayhaps there's something yearning for my attention ..internally?" As he spoke he paced around the beach, getting closer and closer to Ravus. He looked at Ravus' magitek arm and tilted his head. He seemed to be pouting? "Aw, did you not like my gift? And I had worked so hard to make it so uniquely you! Your rejection of the scourge hurts me." Ardyn faked looking upset about the ordeal, but he cared not. Though with the newly-resurrected Ravus running around as well, perhaps Noctis was around after all. If he could be revived and if Ravus could be revived ..would that mean Somnus had a chance to live once more? The thought of that daemon running around actually made Ardyn upset.
However now was not the time for Ardyn to reminisce about the past that was stolen from him. Someone else he knew and himself were in Darkness. Was it coincidence or fate? Nevertheless, Ardyn thought he would make the best use of his time. There was no use in killing his only entertainment. "This 'hell' is interesting is it not? Darkness as far as the eye can see but not an ounce of the Scourge or Daemons." He gestured to the area around them while speaking. "Yet, it is not truly hell. I am still here aren't I?" Ardyn shrugged as he jested with Ravus. "The ruse the Gods had you all believing, now that was hell." He was as cryptic as always.

Ravus didn’t like what he was hearing at all. He growled slightly, his expression turning more sour by the minute Ardyn talked. That man was mocking him, because he was able to turn him into one of his beasts. He absently grabbed the metallic arm, not moving from his spot though, when Ardyn came closer.
“You call this a gift? You made me a creature of the scourge, just to play with the king.” His hand took a firmer grip on the metallic object, his eyes following Ardyns every move.
“oh, it is hell enough with you being here. If the gods are no more, than the king must have been able to destroy you. I don’t know where I am and why I am here, but if you too are prisoner of this realm.. Than the king must have banished you to this afterlife.”
Ravus was almost certain he was dead. No one has ever been revived from the dead, except Ardyn. This was not the realm between life and death, so he was almost sure from what he knew, that they were both prisoners in the eternal darkness now. The irony of this made him chuckle drily. Maybe he still had a chance for redemption.. Maybe that is why the gods brought him here, even if it was a bitter sweet end for both of them.
“You are the reason for all this destruction and all the pain we had to go through. You and the scourge you control. The gods have not brought this sickness upon us.” The man shook his head slightly, taking a step in Ardyns direction to stand his ground. His eyes traveled to the side however, seeing all those yellow eyes watching them. These creatures truly were no daemons.. Maybe they were the remains of the souls of people that died to the scourge?

"Oh come now, I'm not that cruel am I? You saw the wonders it did for the Emperor, I was just merely spreading the wealth." Ardyn said in response to Ravus questioning his 'gift.' He watched as Ravus stood his ground and then approached him. The Accursed stood his ground, smiling in the face of the EX-Commander, aloof as always. He thought he had everything all figured out - that the King won and the big bad scourge was exiled from the world. All complete with a dry chuckle. "I'm glad that I could provide such entertainment. Being around the Infernian for so long must have rubbed off on me." He said with a bow.
"Ah but the Gods did bring that sickness to you ...the Meteor of the Six. Daemons and the Scourge have all come from that little present the Gods oh so graciously gave us. I simply just ...channel it I suppose?" Ardyn started to give Ravus quite the history lesson. There was no need to withhold such information anymore since his revenge was complete, but he still had fun confusing the hell out of people! He placed his right hand onto Ravus' Magitek Arm. "After-all, it is what helps make this arm work if you were not aware. And let me think ...what certain trinket robbed you of your arm in the first place, hm?" Ardyn returned a chuckle to Ravus before removing his hand from Ravus' arm. "If you're looking for the true person who caused all of this, your hatred should be redirected back towards Noctis' bloodline. One of his ancestors: Somnus, is the true Accursed." For but a brief moment his carefree facade had dropped when he mentioned the name 'Somnus.' He shook his head for a moment before returning his relaxed expression.
His eyes looked at the Heartless again. They would watch but not interfere. Perhaps they were afraid of something? Nevertheless it didn't change the fact that both he and Ravus were stuck on this Dark Beach.

Ravus felt the anger for the man grow even stronger the more he talked. Not that cruel? How dare he say that! After all he has done, he would have the nerve to call himself an entertainer!? “Silence! You would pin the blame on the six for all of this? Every time you open your mouth, only lies escape. Why would I listen to you after all you have done!?”
He growled, but didn’t move from his spot… yet.. Oh how much he hated that man.. He just wanted to pierce him with Alba Leonis, just like this monster has pierced his sister. The mention of the ring reminded him of the painful way the ring had burned through his body, a phantom pain of this day moving through his nerves for a moment, the commander, trying to hide it with his blank expression he tried to hold up in front of this daemon. “I was not worthy of the gods. It was their punishment for me trying to be something I am not. “ this subject about his arm was a very sensitive one and it had traumatized him a lot. He lost his arm, after all.
“I would sacrifice both of my arms to destroy you for good!”
The heartless around them moved slightly, antennas flicking as they caught his dark emotions rise inside of him. “The bloodline of the Lucis has always been made of people chosen by the crystal. Are you trying to tell me it was corrupted from the start? Hold your tongue… your lies have no meaning in this realm.” What was Ardyn talking about? Noctis only had the blood of his ancestors, but he is not that Somnus, even if what Ardyn said was true. He had learned not to judge someone so blindly.. Hadn’t he?

Ravus had told Ardyn something he knew: that Ravus was not worthy of the Gods. That it was a punishment for him trying to become something that he wasn't. Ardyn too knew what it was like to be rejected by the so-called Gods, but he didn't give pity to those who felt their fury. "Touchy touchy, Sir Ravus! Besides, people have given up far more than that to try to get rid of me." Once again he smiled in Ravus' face. Then Ravus had decided to inform him about the blood of Lucis that they were always chosen by the Crystal. While that did hold some sort of merit, the Crystal had still passed him up from becoming the chosen King.
"Since I've no need to keep up this ruse any longer, there's no harm in bequeathing you the truth." Ardyn's expression changed to a completely serious one. "You think sacrificing an arm or two, losing your home, and your family is something that drives you? You know nothing." He stepped back from Ravus. "Try being betrayed by the gods, your people, and your own family. Being deamonized by everyone you held so dear, erased from history, and locked away in something you could call hell for over two thousand years." He gritted his teeth, showing a clear bit of anguish, before returning back to his calm state. "Ardyn..." For but a moment a flash surrounded Ardyn and his pink Royal Arms all floated around him before disappearing in the blink of an eye. "...Lucis Caelum. That is my real name, and the truth. Everything from the start was a folly of the Gods." Ardyn didn't tell most people his true blood or his name since it directly conflicted with his plans, but since those were over he would have no issue telling those if it was convenience to him.

Ravus did not know about Ardyns true goals. How should he? The man had been erased from every part of history. No book nor legends existed of the man. His dark expression stayed, as he watched the man, seeing how his expression turned serious the longer he talked. Ravus didn’t seem ready to listen to any word the man said. He had been under Ardyns hands as long as he could remember, since he was part of the empire. He had learned to see through his façade and even been able to tell, when he was taking the form of an other. He has expected many things to happen in their conversation, but what Ardyn decided to show him.. Was something far of what he could ever imagine.
Seeing the red armiger appear made Ravus move back out of reflex, eyes widening at what he heard and saw. No, this must be a trick. It must be one of his games! There was no way this daemon.. This creature could be of Lucian blood!
“This is impossible! No, I refuse to believe you are.. One of Lucian blood!”
Could Ardyn be able to copy the swords? No… he had taken Noctis Form and struck him down with the motorblade but.. No.. No, this just can’t be true! “Erased from history? Turned into a daemon by people you cared for? This whole story just sounds like the twisty thoughts of a man as wicked as you!”
Ravus couldn’t help but raise his voice. This man was mocking the history of his bloodline with this. And that of Lucis. Also the gods! How dare he try to blame it on them? He was born into the believe that the gods are protecting them if evil. To be told they are the reason for all of this… he shook his head wildly. “why…? How…. Should this be possible? I know you hate the lucians but why would you go as far to take revenge on them now? Those that made you a prisoner are no more."

It seemed like he had thoroughly confused Ravus thanks to his little showing. Of course he didn't believe it at first, but then eventually he started to ask questions to clarify the Accursed's tale. "Undoubtedly tis a tale that leaves one yearning for more." He paused and his Armigir flashed once more when he grabbed the Trident of the Oracle. "This trinket may seem familiar, no?" When Ardyn swiped his arm to the side, the Trident then disappeared. "The Trident bestowed unto the Oracle to speak to the Gods and fight the Starscourge. I could show you more if you like. Perhaps King Regis' sword that you had held onto oh so dearly?" He had really nothing to gain by riling up Ravus but his own personal amusement. Regardless, he continued his story.
"Your precious Lucian Kings have held some dark secrets. In fact, did you know that King Somus had entire villages slaughtered and burned alive because of a suspected daemon threat?" When he spoke he intentionally sounded like he had found the latest juiciest gossip and had said King in a bitter tone. "Both the bodies of man and beast would be set ablaze together in one fell swoop. His comrades would not be given a proper burial for their families. There was a savior, however Somnus had decided to outcast and imprison him, as did the Gods." One of the Shadows had started to approach them and Ardyn had looked over to it. "The Daemons and nightfall are both intertwined. Daemons being able to walk free and grow in power in darkness. These creatures seem no different." Ardyn would approach the shadow and then place his hand out in front of him, very close to the creatures face. Then suddenly the Darkness from the creature would start to be siphoned into Ardyn's body until the creature simply vanished.
When Ardyn turned around to face Ravus again, his eyes were black and yellow and dark black veins had coursed through his body. However it was for but a moment before his regular appearance started to settle in again. "The only way for us to truly atone and to free the world from its prison was simple: Rid the world of the Lucian blood and the Gods. If the Gods would not punish the Lucian's for their malefic deeds, then I swore to do so myself."

[attr="class","parm"] [attr="class","parmimg"]
[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Ravus tried to hate all his emotions but he was visibly shaken by what he heard. Of course he was telling himself, that the other was lying to him still and trying to manipulate him, but the more the other said to him and showed him, the more the man could feel sweat build on his forehead from sheer irritation. A whole village was burned by the first king, in hopes of destroying the scourge? Could he hear something like.. grief in the others words there? Why would he care about these lifes? This contradicted so much with how he knew Ardyn, that he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, his hand moving to grab his metallic arm. A savior.. Was Ardyn trying to tell him, that HE was that person that tried to help those people, instead of outright killing them?
Betrayal changed people a lot... he knew, how it was. But was this explanation really enough for Ardyn's actions to be understandable? He watched him destroy one of these creatures and absorb it, the hidden daemon in the man becoming visible for a moment, Ravus unable to stop himself from stepping back a little more from the man, his eyes catching movement behind him though, seeing some of the creatures watch every move he made away from the other. Was Ardyn's presence scaring them so much? Would they attack him if he moved to far away from the man? He put his hand on the handle of his blade now, ready to draw it at any moment.
“So you connected revenge and duty? Hmpf... An interesting story, indeed...” He shook his head slightly, mismatched eyes staring at Ardyn now.
“Well.. if that is truly what you wanted, than you seem to have achieved this. Does it make you happy, how many people you manipulated to destroy those you hate so much? You are no Samaritan... nay.”
He held the handle tighter with his hand, gritting his teeth.
“And now you have been taken to an other hell, instead of being set free. Isn't it prove enough, that your actions were not as righteous as you thought they were? Look around you... you are still bathing in the darkness of other monsters now and your life has not been erased completely from the world. You are being punished.. just like me.”

Ardyn started to see how uneasy Ravus became when he saw his daemon face. It wasn't surprising since it was very off-putting. Over two thousand years ago he use to hide his face and his hands since he was ashamed of his appearance. He also knew it would frighten the masses if anyone had ever seen what he had become. Yet despite all that he continued on until the very end, before his imprisonment. He also noticed Ravus keeping a tighter grasp on his sword. He shook his head. "Tsk tsk tsk... you can really hurt someone with that! Anyone could ..lose a limb?" Perhaps continually taunting and berating Ravus wasn't a good idea, but he was still having fun with it. Seeing his expressions, his reactions, oh it brought joy down to the many daemon souls inside of him.
"What made me happy was knowing that the gods would see everything they created come tumbling down in the end. Save the many by sacrificing the few." He pause. "The few in this case being the Lucian's and the gods themselves. The empire was just a bonus. Now everyone can be free of the fickle conflict of the gods." Ravus had insisted that Ardyn was being punished, just like himself. That around them was just another hell and Ardyn was just bathing in Darkness from other creatures. "Nay, this is far from punishment. If you want to know TRUE punishment, it was listening to the Emperor go on and on about conquering everything." He jested, but also was serious. He didn't care much for the Empire except that it allowed him to greatly spread the scourge across the land in hopes of being able to put his plan into motion.
"Now what say you, hm? What do you think you're being punished for? Were you not in the right for Regis abandoning you?" Despite berating Ravus beforehand about what drove him, Ardyn did feel some sort of sentiment for him. Like him, he was betrayed by the Lucians, and like him he was also betrayed by the gods. Though despite it being sentiment, it wasn't that much since he did use him to further his own goals. Nevertheless, it was something he took note of.

The brother of the oracle had learned to be wary of the man in front of him. He knew the other might try to manipulate him. With his words, just like he did with all the others that fell to them. He needed to stay on guard at all times, his emotions having no place here right now. Yet he found himself struggling to keep them in check, the longer he talked to the murderer of his sister.
He left the first remark without a comment, continuing to keep an eye on the man and the strange creatures around them. “your sense of justice is more comparable to madness. Though I am not surprised, seeing how the scourge flows through you like it’s your own blood.”
A frown would Form on his face for a moment, before he looked up at the man, eyes meeting his and looking deep inside, as if he was searching for something in the man.
“…. I was punished.. For failing my sister and my oath.”
He put his metallic hand on his chest. “I could not see through your masquerade enough to save my sister… and the world. I should have been able to tell your true objectives before everything went to hell.. But I wasn’t. That is why I am here….”
His face twisted slightly, the man drawing his sword now, balancing it in his hand before he took a former grip.
“I couldn’t strike you down back than… but now.. I will try to correct this. For my sister… and my mother. I will take revenge on you!”
He took a deep breath, determination on his face. "I will erase you today!" He rushed forward suddenly, aiming at the man with a swift strike. "face me like a man!"

Ravus explained that he was punished for failing his sister and his oath. To Ardyn that wasn't good enough of a reason to be punished, it was pretty petty. It sounded more like he was self loathing rather than actually deserving punishment. He also had wonderfully deduced that Ardyn was driven because of the scourge running through his body, rather than believing the truth that was laid out for him. Ravus would then make another comment and start rushing toward Ardyn with his sword drawn. Ardyn would draw The Sword of the Father to clash with Ravus' blade so he would effectively block the attack. Sparks flew off of both swords when they met. "What did I just say? You could lose a limb! Besides.. fighting you like this is hardly any fun." Ardyn chuckled and placed his free hand out in front of him. He started siphoning the scourge out of Ravus temporarily.
"But wait... without the scourge would be equally as droll!" Smirking, he reversed his powers and pumped even more Starscourge into Ravus' body. "Please accept this gift." He would then push forward against Ravus' blade and then allow himself to be pushed away from the clash. Once again he stood a bit away from Ravus. Watching and waiting to see what true darkness could emit from Oracle's brother.

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Ravus was beyond furious with this man- No, this MONSTER. This creature did not understand anything about what he was feeling right now, even if he tried to act like he was capable of having emotions. All he said should matter, shouldn't it? But not for Ravus. It didn't change the fact, that this man has done horrible things to him and his family, the thing he cared about more than anything in the world. This was his moment of judgment. Or so he thought.. oh, how wrong he had been about this. Their swords clashed and Ravus snarled into the face of his opponent, already planning on how to fight a man with such power and take him down with him into the abyss if he had to. Every normal human being would keep as far away from this creature, but not Ravus. There was nothing he could fear... no, that is not correct. Ardyn taught him otherwise.
He felt a strange surge of energy through his body, feeling weaker for a moment, before he could understand what Ardyn was telling him. Wait.. no. It can't be! He had no chance to get away from the man, the scourge that was drained from his body shooting right back into it, this time much stronger and aggressive. He didn't even know he was still cursed until now! He screamed out in agony from the feeling of his veins pushing the curse through his body, the man stumbling back, letting go of his sword and holding his shoulder that was connected to the magitec arm.
His eyes could make out the dark liquid that started to drop from the limp, the black, sickly veins moving up his neck and to his face, his purple eye turning black partly.
“Gnh..! Y...you! W...what have you.. done?!”
He couldn't believe this. He thought he had been freed of this evil with his death, but it stayed with him?! The heartless around him felt the strong darkness that now flood over the man, feeling his rage and fear and it was to tempting now to keep an eye on the man they were afraid of all this time. The creatures suddenly started to move, swarming at Ravus and Ardyn from all directions. The guardian of the oracle, caught their movements with his still blue eye, his magitec arm moving without him really giving the order, grabbing one of the heartless by its head and slamming it to the ground, squishing it into a rock.

Ardyn had burst out in joyous laughter when he saw the scourge take form in Ravus' body once more. Sub-sequentially the Heartless around them started going berserk. "Ahahaha!!!!! What a marvelous result. See? The Scourge suits you! It gives you such unique features, spectacular is it not?" For a moment he paused as Ravus attacked and then squashed one of the attacking Heartless. "We're going to have to put our little scuffle on hold. Our friends want to join in, why deny them their fun?" A few of the Shadows had decided to jump at Ardyn from a few directions. He would slice one upwards with the Sword of the Father and Warp upwards to then grab the poor Shadow and slam it into the ground. It disappeared with a puff of smoke! The other Heartless he would then kick away into the nearby rocks and it also was destroyed.
"It feels great to cut loose!" He still had reservations for being alive again, especially if he still had his immortality. It would mean he couldn't feel the sweet release of death and end his suffering. Oh well, he had seemingly gotten his revenge and would figure it out later. "We make quite the good team." Ardyn slightly taunted the scourged-Ravus.
Ardyn had destroyed Heartless #2 and #3. About 17 more remain.
