Imagine, if you would, that you are an immensely powerful mage with the desire--scratch that--the need to use your magic to level a city. Especially since it's been years since you've done so. Not only that however, but you've just learned that the universe is just chock full of worlds waiting to be ripped apart. You too would be over the moon, just like Kefka here. He was a kid in a candy store, looking upon thousands of stars within his magic corridor, each representing a new and highly flammable world. He had no idea where to start, especially since his choices were endless. Blind with excitement, Kefka decided that the only course of action was to close his eyes and choose a destination at random. As you might guess, this will prove to be a terrible idea.
A dazzling rainbow portal would open over a barren landscape. With only a moment of tentative delay, Kefka would come bounding out ready to embrace his very first world outside of his own (and that Garden place but that barely counts as a world let's be real). Boy was this--underwhelming. It was just a bunch of wasteland, rocks, cliffs, and valleys as far as the eye could see. Kefka sighed, his shoulders slumping forward as his portal closed. "You can't be serious!" He exclaimed, throwing his arms up in exaggerated exasperation. "Just my luck, the first destination on my destructive road trip and it's a bust!" Placing a gloved hand over his eyes, Kefka would look both to and fro for any sign of life. Unfortunately, he would find nothing but dust. Groaning, the disappointed fiend would turn to open his portal and try his luck elsewhere. Yet as he swung his head around, a soft glimmer would catch his eye. Kefka swung toward the glimmer and yet saw nothing. Kefka squinted; he was no fool (ironic I know), he definitely saw something. When he couldn't spy it, Kefka would shake his back in froth to recreate the glimmer. Sure enough with each swing a Very distant object would blink in the sun. Kefka smirked. It wasn't much, but it was a start. Kicking off of the cliff he stood on, Kefka would begin floating toward the blinking figure.
Kefka was glad that he had stayed. As he floated forward at top speed, the distant gleaming object would reveal itself to be a towering spire. As Kefka drew nearer, the spire would only grow in size. And as the tower grew, so did his excitement. Surely that was the center of a grand city full of people just waiting to meet their grizzly ends. He was almost beside himself with anticipation, couldn't he go any faster!? He was nearing his destination, and the tower became ever clearer. Only with clarity came foreboding, the tower seemed--off. Very off in fact, as if it were falling apart. This concerned Kefka for but a moment, but he quickly decided not to judge a book by its cover. Maybe the architects for this city enjoyed the classic dilapidated aesthetic.
Kefka would eventually come upon an enormous wall which he easily scaled with his levitation. As he moved up the wall Kefka noted the gigantic plates on either side of him that seemed to be utterly ripped apart. Geez these guys sure aren't good at maintaining their--plates. On top of the wall, Kefka would be confronted with a morbid scene. Out past a huge set of caved in railways sat a sprawling metropolis leveled into rubble. The imposing tower stood in its center, with nothing but the grace of the divine keeping it upright. Kefka's shoulders drooped. Here he was thinking his luck was good, when it was actually worse than he thought. What are the odds of him coming upon a city to destroy, only for him to be too late. Kefka kicked the wall and began floating towards the city proper.
Landing in the middle of a ruined square, Kefka scratched his head. Whatever caused all of this was really efficient, he couldn't have done it any better. He was discouraged, but decided to have a look around anyway. After all there might be some survivors he could prey on for a few small laughs. The sky above him was turning grayer by the second, setting the scene quite nicely. He had to admit it was rather refreshing to be in such a derelict location, reminded him of home. He would have liked all of this to be his handiwork but credit where credit was due, this wasn't half bad. Yet disturbingly, the style of the buildings seemed rather familiar. AT first he thought they were reminding him of Narshe, what with all of the pipes and such. So many pipes. But as he wandered he slowly realized that it was a different sort of familiarity, as if he had actually been here before. It gave Kefka the creeps. So much of the creeps that he had to stop for a moment to recuperate. It didn't help that he was becoming frustrated of his lack of progress, the idea that he had wasted his time searching for nothing was beginning to try rile him up. Eventually he thought, screw it let's just give it a go, and quickly thrust his hand out to launch a ball of fire [Zig-Zag Firaga] into the shattered doorway of a nearby building. A second after the projectile entered the ruined abode, what was left of it would shatter in a eruption of flame. Kefka watched as the short structure fell apart, and as the dust surrounded him he could only sigh. It wasn't the same. Moving out of the dust and sitting on a broken pipe, Kefka would lean his head upon the top of his hand and yawn. He needed to rest before he left this pointless world behind. And so there he sat, lamenting the good times that could have been.

After his meeting with the young girl inside the church in Sector Five, Genesis figured it was time to leave the city behind and start examining the world for signs of trouble. He’d already found some, from those treasure hunters elsewhere in Midgar but that was taken care of. For the moment, at least. Still it wouldn’t hurt to have one more sweep of the city under his belt before he took off, just in case any of them had snuck back while he was busy. He was finished his paying respects to Zack and Angeal after all, it was time to actually start what he was summoned to do: protect The Planet from those who sought to harm it. It didn’t matter if they were foreign or domestic, he’d ensure this world was safe. The crimson angel sighed as he took flight, the sky above was growing darker above the gloomy ruins. Was it truly this late already? It gave him a sense of foreboding, even though there was no reason to believe anything would happen being over a ruined city in the dark always gave anyone with a heart chills as their minds pondered how the metropolis was compared to how it is now. Shaking his head a bit, he continued his circumnavigation of the derelict city until the distinctive sound of an explosion caught his ear. Genesis’s first thought was that it was just the city continuing to decay, but it was worth a second look after earlier today. A frown came to his lips as a pillar of smoke quickly came into view, something not likely to happen if part of the city had just fallen down; especially in such an open area. Angling his wing her turned towards the location, his glowing mako eyes scanning the area for any clues. Fortunately, it didn’t take long to find the culprit, who was taking no precaution to keep from being detected. Even though the treasure hunters from before didn’t wear colors to camouflage themselves into the environment at least their colors were muted enough they didn’t stick out like a sore thumb. This walking rainbow almost seemed like he wanted to get caught, as his uncoordinated and disorganized attire left much to be desired for the eyes. It almost seemed like a patchwork quilt of rags, hardly something that Genesis would consider a threat. Had he used a bomb? There were no signs of weapons on the clown… Jester? It didn’t matter. He didn’t belong and he needed to go. With the fool’s attention elsewhere, he slowly descended atop a crumbling build with a fragmentary wall reminiscent of a pillar or pole left standing. With his feet atop it and Rapier at his side, he spread his wing to the fullness if his glory before he spoke out. “It's rather unbecoming of a destroyer, is it not? Wearing such ridiculous attire, one might mistake you for a fool,” narrowing his eyes, Genesis looked down at him from his perch as he rose his head a bit. “Is there a reason you’ve come to destroy things on my planet? Or are you another one of those meddling treasure hunters? There’s nothing left in this radioactive ruin, I find it hardly worth your time to remain. Now if you’re quite finished, would you do me the honor of leaving so that I continue on my journey as hero?” Thread Theme: Gate To The Rift; Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy

Kefka was about a second or two from parting with this pointless experience. While still sour over his lost time he had begun to cope with his disappointment and was ready to move on to the next heap of rocks. However, just as he lifted his shoulders to push himself to his feet--he showed up. A voice prickled Kefka's ear; it was delicate and held an air of tight arrogance that stung Kefka's lobes. The clown warily leered toward the voices source, and oh what a sight this man was to behold.
Tall and handsome, garnished in a red duster and dripping with belts--oh and that wing! The man's expression was so impeccably smug, it made Kefka's eyes twitch. The icing on the cake was the man's monologue, he thought he was a hero? Kefka should have known, he seemed plenty dramatic enough. A smirk twisted from the wily villain's lips. He saw a fine opportunity for some entertainment. Kefka rubbed his chin and sprang to his feet. "A fool am I? Hefty words from such a gaudy goose ha! How many cows did you kill for your getup? How much oil did you dig up for that hairdo? You call yourself a hero but you're a walking environmental disaster! Talk about bad taste!"
Kefka gave a chuckle and slapped his knee. "Of course, it must be very difficult to taste anything with how callous your tongue must be from all that yapping! Do me a favor and flock off chickadee. You're blocking my clouds." Kefka sat back down and folded his legs, completely aware that this crimson pest would remain where he was. In fact, he was counting on it. From what he could tell, he seemed like an easy target for some good old fashioned heckling.

From the moment that the jester laid eyes upon the ex-SOLDIER, he knew that that his very being irritated this invader. This amused the one winged angel, it was almost as if this adversary was wondering who dared interrupt their plans. The fool was quick to cover his disgust with a mask of glee at least, or perhaps he truly was mad and his emotions were truly so flippant. Definitely the former, trying so pitifully to paint Genesis as the true villain of the situation. This made him chuckle, shaking his head a bit at how immature this situation was becoming.
“Says the clown whose getup a flock of geese couldn’t satisfy,” Genesis was coy, a small smile on his face as he closed his eyes. With Rapier still casually in his right hand he raised his forearms in a shrug as he opened his left.“I never said anyone was perfect, even myself. Speaking of clouds, however…” His voice grew more serious as he set his gaze back upon this invader, those cold and glowing mako eyes staring deep into the bluish hues of the jester. Letting his left arm fall to his side, he held Rapier firmly as he pointed it at his foe’s chest. It was the perfect segue to his next point, which not only would emphasize the man's need to leave but perhaps signal that he knew more about this world or at least the two he would name drop. Any information on them would be helpful in gauging why all these people kept showing up lately.
“With Cloud and Sephiroth off world it would appear that leaves me as the strongest warrior left to fend you off in their stead. Assuming you’re done your childish banter and don’t leave quietly as asked, of course. I wouldn’t want an unnecessary encounter of course, but I can’t in good conscious let some alien come and wreak havoc on this world again. Not after we just got rid of your kind.”
