"How I travel? it's simple really!"Ayami dug into a small pack she had at her side for a moment, stopping in her tracks. It only took a moment of poking around, moving things aside, holding the back up to her face for a closer look... Well, you get the point. She finally found it, and with an "Aha!" pulled out the device. She held it out proudly for Hono to examine. It was sleek, shiny, rather...Makeshift too, but it was clearly not some rush job."This device allows for me to open up tunnels into space, and go to other worlds! I call it: "Bifrost"! The others told me it was a dumb name...But screw that, I upgraded it. I can name it any damn thing I want!"She chuckled, clearly proud of her...Stubborn Ingenuity. She gave Hono a cheerful nod to her next question however."Of course not! I can't deny someone the desire to broaden their horizons. Everyone needs a chance to become independent. Besides, I like your style!"It was true that while they might not have been exactly the same...There were some similarities between the two. They both had stubborn natures, the desire to do as they wanted. People who followed their carefree hearts. The mechanic was ecstatic that Hono seemed so interested in the history of her world, and the history of her people. Not a lot of people would have just sat there listening to all those details with interest. It meant a lot when someone DID listen. That Hono so easily offered to help, without even expecting something, well...It just made the Al bhed girl even happier."Really? You will?! I'm so glad! He could be anywhere by now. The more people helping me look, the closer I can get to him!"Family... Yeah, it was important. Though she so often desired independence, it was those ties that meant so much to her. Family to her, they're the kind of people you really love to be around. Even if her parents sometimes pissed her off, she still cared a lot about them. Disagreeing, getting into scuffles...It was just part of being family she guessed. Still, Hono's next question brought her out of her train of thought. Ayami didn't hesitate to respond with a confident nod and a smile."I saw him with my own eyes! I know he's out there somewhere. I bet he'll be really happy to see me again!"So it seemed Hono hadn't seen anyone like her father... Well, the mechanic didn't let that get to her. It was a necessary question that she never really expected a positive answer to, but one she always had to ask "Just in case". But with all of that aside... The red evening sun beat down on their faces, shadows cast from objects staring down the setting star in the sky. Hono's question was one Ayami already knew the answer to. She smiled as bright as the sun itself."I am."She looked at the purple hued sky, and back to Hono."And if you want... You can come with me now! Just think about it, all those adventures we can go on! I'd like for you to think it over though, we might not be able to come back for a while."She extended the offer to come along to Hono now. She didn't put any pressure on the fencer, after all, she would come back, that much was sure. Rather, her smile was warm and calming. Like no matter what Hono said now, it wouldn't have caused problems.--- Hono

the fiery spell fencer
290 Words | Hono watched Ayami pull out a device, it was interesting none the less. "You're amazing Ayami!" Hono weaved around the mechanist to look at the little device from all directions. I mean, it had to work, Ayami was here in Twilight Town. Hono was curious how exactly it worked specifically, but she was no scientist so she likely wouldn't understand. Biforst, Hono chuckled a bit, a funny name. Hono's cheeks turned a soft pink at Ayami's complement.
Hono nods, "I wanna get out of this musty old place, I wanna be a badass, and tell my brother all sorts of amazing stories!" She explained daily life was so dull, the fencer was like one of those princesses who wanted something more in her life, just without all the singing. Hono truly loved her family, but she was an adult now! She was able to make her own decisions.
"Guess we'll have to go to a bunch of different worlds!" Hono pounded her chest. Hono than asked a few quick questions, "Hey Ayami, can you fight, and as for that device, how do you decide which world you go to?" She curiously asks them.
Ayami was okay with Hono coming along, but she wanted her to think it over. It was... sweet to give her time to think about it. Hono was pretty sure she made her mind up. She looked at the rapier on her hip and the small bag she held. "I might need to go home to explain to my family and get some clothes and such," She said. Hono looked at Ayami. "But I'm definitely going with you!" Hono smiled. "I can't just leave a cute girl no needs help all alone!" She joked around with Ayami.

"If leaving is really what you'd like to do, to see what lies beyond, to become your own person and grow... Then we're not so different."She laughed a bit, so she wanted to bring home amazing stories? Hono really did sound just like her. Ayami could remember leaving home on her own to travel Spira. Even if she wasn't that much older than the fencer, it still...Felt like ages ago when she started that long journey. And even now it still wasn't over. It wouldn't BE over until she could bring her father home again. But seeing how excited Hono was to go out there into the unknown... Well, there was no way the mechanic could see this as anything other than a positive.Ayami gave a simple nod."If the device is right, then all those stars up the sky? Those are their own worlds, with their own people... And maybe my father is on one of them right now. I'm going to visit every single one if I have to, and you're coming with me!"With Hono's questions came a welling of pride in the girl. She puffed out her chest and had a smug expression across her face as she gave a nod, drawing her pistol from it's holster and spinning it on one finger."You're looking at the best damn crack-shot in all of Spira! My old man taught me everything I know about firing this thing. I call it "Loud", it's been with me during my whole journey! Well, I guess besides that...My mom was a scrapper when she was younger, she taught me how to fight with my hands too!"One...Probably didn't need to guess why the gun was called "Loud", as the most obvious guesses you could make were absolutely correct. As for how the device worked... She was still figuring it out honestly, there were a lot of working theories, but she knew how to operate it at the very least. To such a degree that she could still put it in layman's terms. She holstered the gun, and proceeded to point out the device's various features, explaining as she went along."Well, in it's previous state, I don't know exactly how it chose worlds... But THIS model? I just point it at any star in the sky, and it'll scan coordinates! From there, I can open a tunnel straight to the place. It's brilliant really!"So...Hono was sure she wanted to come along, but she needed just a short time to prepare. Understandable. The Spiran would give Hono a brief nod and a bright grin."Go say your goodbyes to everyone. I'm going to wait for you right up there."She pointed up at the station on the hill. It seemed like as good a place as any, seeing as that's where she first arrived here from. She turned to walk towards the station, but stopped for a second, turning back around and smiling."Hono? We're going to be the best adventurers around. Just you wait! I'll make sure you've got some amazing stories to bring back home."Her head was angled slightly, her eyes closed as her smile turned warmer. Meeting new people, no less people that were like her... It made her excited, especially knowing she was going to be sharing in some great adventures! She laughed at Hono's last comment, giving her another nod.She walked up to the station, standing in the plaza right outside once she arrived. She stared out at that endless red and orange sky, her hands holding onto that gear necklace she had found. It reminded her of home, her family in the Machine faction, and all the people she looked up to in Spira. No less her father."Dad... I dunno where you went off to... But I'm going to make you proud. I swear it!"--- Hono

the fiery spell fencer
307 Words | Hono really did love Ayami's passion. Hono wondered what kind of man her father was, and why he left in the first place. Though that would come later. For now, Hono focused on the matter at hand. Hono nodded at the comparison Ayami made between the two. Hono looked up at stars that dotted the twilight sky. Every star was a separate world... all of the varying sizes. It was hard to believe but Hono had to go with it. Nothing made sense anymore, so might as well get crazier. Hono thought about it for a moment, she wondered how often people came and went from the worlds. Hell, maybe Hono could get Ayami to whip her up one of those fancy devices! Joking of course.
"A gunner huh?" She eyed the mechanic up and down. "Wouldn't except that" She chuckled. "Interesting! So don't get on your bad side or I'll get a knuckle sandwich!" Hono joked and teased Ayami a bit. It was common for her, Ayami would likely face a ton of teases in their travels together.
Hono listened to Ayami explain her new contraption. "Right, So you DON'T know" She let out a hearty laugh, she nodded and rolled her eyes a bit. "It's brilliant I suppose!' She nudged Ayami, she would attempt to gently tap her shoulder against her arm.
Hono began walking towards the Tram Common. Her body stopped and turned her head around her shoulder as Ayami said her name. What followed was something that made Hono's cheeks turn a pink hue. A smile formed from each side of her face. "Hell yeah! We're gonna have fun! And find your dad!" Hono gave Ayami a thumbs up.
After a few moments, Hono disappeared into a crowd of people. It would take a bit of explaining, but she couldn't let Ayami down.

The spiran mechanic laughed alongside Hono, it was definitely nice to be able to share laughs like this. Even if just for a little bit. She... Didn't have very many friends back home. So having Hono warm up to her so quickly was a nice feeling. She rubbed the back of her head out of embarrassment from Hono's compliments however. She wasn't exactly used to receiving them. - Not because of anyone doing anything wrong of course, but rather... She just kinda did what was expected of her, and never really viewed that as "praise worthy". But... She couldn't deny that she kinda liked being complimented. To have someone find interest in what she did when back home it was rather average."Welll, no I wouldn't beat ya up. Not unless you wanted me to!"She gave the fencer another big smile. Clearly... Not seeing the rather amusing image of someone asking to be hit."Listen, The device is ancient tech. Traveling to other worlds is not an exact science! But don't worry, we won't blow up or get ejected into a void, I can assure you that much! ... Probably. I'm at least 47% sure."She gave a confident nod, seemingly pretty certain despite such a low estimate. Well... She DID say it wasn't an exact science after all. She simply allowed Hono to do the nudging, still smiling away."I know right?! I never would have thought you could focus energy to create tunnels like this! I've really gotta study it closer when I've got access to my workshop, come to think of it...Maybe I can replicate this for others to use too? No... It would need more test runs, and then I have to account for access to materials, I didn't exactly see a lot of those crystals that powers it lying around... And then there's an issue with it being used for stupid things, and someone getting stranded because they broke it, although that's user error and not device error, and...-"... She rambled on near-endlessly about the theories, morality, and potential for mass production. It was only the continued nudging from Hono that snapped the mechanic out of it."-Hm? What? Oh, sorry! I guess I got a little carried away..."She watched as Hono left to prepare, and once Hono responded to her words of encouragement, she could only smile and give a thumbs up in return. She watched as her new found traveling partner and friend disappeared into the crowd gathered at the station. It seemed like things were going to get busy, but... She didn't exactly mind the company. Between Zeni, Hono, and even Yuna; the legendary hero of Spira, she appreciated their presence. It... Had been really lonely traveling Spira like she did not that long ago. Part of her was actually relieved that she wouldn't have to continue this search alone - Especially now that it extended far beyond Spira's sun-soaked lands. The mechanic girl wasn't about to let Hono down either. They had made a promise now, and that alone was enough to form a great bond. Something that couldn't be broken. She'd have to make a mental note to make something to help protect Hono against the elements... "Maybe something in red..."She silently watched the beautiful sunset in the distance, already thinking about where to go next, and what their adventure might entail. There were so many lingering questions in her mind, personal doubts, fears of what she might find, unresolved questions about just who created the device she used to bridge between worlds, and better yet; why. But she knew one thing beyond all doubt:They were going to bring back her Father, no matter what.--- Hono [Exit Thread]
