Noctis walked through the streets of Radiant Garden, still passively mourning the loss of his beard, running his ungloved hand through his chin and face. He had been brought back by the Astrals to help someone or maybe a group of “someones” to beat out darkness. As a show of good favor, the Astrals, when hearing of Noctis’s want to help, granted him his life back. This was amazing to say the least, due to the fact that they didn’t bring him back just to help, they brought him back to complete this mission and to live his life out. Noctis was happy to be back, although, he couldn’t help but feel a little selfish. He wished he had bid for the lives of those that made the ultimate sacrifice for him. Noctis remembered hearing stories of the Kingsglaive Nyx. He remembered how hard Cor worked to help him. He remembered his father. He remembered Lunafreya, not to mention the countless lives that had been given in service to Noctis. Noctis buried his hands in his pockets. He wondered if he would ever see them again. Noctis knew that he had already be given life because of his zeal and because he was the only one who could help this “Sora” but in light of what everyone has given to him, he almost feels self-centered.
Noctis figured he would cross this bridge when he got there. Noctis knew that if he was fully appreciative of what everyone had done, then their deaths were never in vain or wasted. Plus, Noctis knew that he held communion with the gods since he can summon them in battle, maybe he could bring everyone back to life after he completes this mission. He was able to convince the Astrals to bring him back, Shiva and Ramuh would listen, right? Noctis had already seen it all, he had even run into the Heartless, the monsters that Bahamut told him all about. Of course, according to the Draconian, he wouldn’t be able to eradicate them completely. That was Sora’s job. Noctis didn’t even know who this Sora was. He knew he was a guy, man or boy remained to be seen. Noctis dealt with them whenever they came but he knew that he needed to team up with this Sora guy in order to make a difference. Noctis sure did miss his brothers, Prompto, Gladio, and Iggy though. He missed Lunafreya and his father, too.
He could use their guidance right now. Until then, Noctis did his regular thing, helping out around town whenever someone needed it. He grew that habit during his travels with his friends after a suggestion from his friends. A king must always help those in need. Noctis walked about until he came across some gardens. Noctis smiled down at the different flowers, it reminded him on Tenebrae. Noctis exhaled, sighing as he knelt down among the gardens, touching the flowers. It was things like this that gave Noctis all the hope in the world, for flowers to sprout in a cobble-stoned town, showed Noctis that things have a way of growing positively even under the hardest of circumstances.
