| Such a familiar place..
..do you remember?
--♦♦♦-- Xion walked out of the Dark Corridor, nearly stumbling on the stone of the walkway she found herself on. Straightening and looking around, she felt that she should know this place; it felt so familiar, it couldn't be coincidence. There had to be a reason it was familiar. With her memories improving, though still blanked on a few, she knew she had to have been here before. Something had drawn her here, called to get, almost, in her travels through the Corridor. She had answered, but why? What was it that drew her here, outside of a grand castle. After her dream with Roxas, Xion had decided to set out and see if she could find him. Heading to familiar places seemed like the right path. She looked around, walked to the end of the courtyard/pathway she was in and over to the bridge that joined it and a stone and dirt road that led off into woods. Something in the back of her mind tingled, prickled, even, a nagging feeling that she can't ignore. She doesn't know why, but this place..
There was just something so right about where she was, but also.. Somehow wrong. She couldn't figure it out, or even begin to piece this confusion together. It was almost maddening, sometimes, when her memory let her down. She knew it would be like this sometimes, but she hadn't expected to run into so many problems with not being able to remember. It really was frustrating. She paced the stony area, a hand on her head as if that would help her to remember, whispering to herself about what it could be.
A noise would catch her attention, and her eyes moved from the trees further away to the oversized menacing stone figures that were carved on some of the posts. She didn't know what had made the sound, but it didn't sound friendly. She braced herself, trying to keep an eye on all surroundings as she stepped back away from where the sound had come from.
Something, or someone, was coming.

Indeed the sound was not friendly at all as one of the stone statues on the bridge began to wiggle until it finally freed itself from its post. Stony wings would uncurl as the Heartless symbol appeared on the creature's chest. With a strange gargled roar, the creature would pull itself from the stone that once had been its resting and take to the air.
It would look over at the girl on the bridge and prepare itself to attack; however, it wouldn't be getting far as a twinkle from above suddenly shot light downward into it. The thin line slicing the thing clean in half before it crumbled into smoke, leaving behind a figure coated in light and darkness crouched on the ground with some form of weapon bared. As the figure stood up, the strange energy upon it would begin to fall off revealing a silver head young man that would be all too familiar to the girl on the bridge by now.
Looking around the area, the young man would take a moment to regain his bearings this time the drop into a new world not so gentle. In fact, the drop had come out of no where as he was scooped from the islands and tossed here. He didn’t quit understand the sudden drop, but he suppose the Heartless stirring were the cause of it considering as he was dropped from the sky that was the first thing he had seen, but what had it been trying to attack?
The young man would keep an eye on the statutes on the bridge as he turned his attention to the presence he felt at the other end of the bridge. As he looked over and saw the familiar figure there a small smile would cross his face as he took a step towards the familiar girl. “Hello, Xion,” he would say, feeling a strange sort of relief and joy at seeing the young lady again. Though she seemed a bit troubled causing the small smile to disappear as he looked at her in concern. He took another step forward, but stop as he heard the shifting of statutes once more causing him to look over at each one trying to figure out which was coming alive, his instinct to protect taking over as he backed up towards Xion with his blade ready for anything.

--♦♦♦-- She had been surprised by the sound of grinding stone, as of stone moving against stone, and out of the corner of her eye she had caught movement from a statue; it moved quickly, and she tried to focus on it so that she could hit it with a couple spells, with the mindset that anything else probably wouldn't reach it in time. Before her spells were cast, however, she saw a light gleam from above the stone monster and descend upon the statue impersonator, destroying it. As the thing crumbled away into nothingness, she stared at the one who was responsible. She had never seen anyone with the aura he carried just at the moment, with light and dark around him. However, when he stood, she did recognize him when he came closer.
The hair was unmistakeable, and when he spoke she knew for sure who he was; a happiness that she couldn't really explain filled her, though she did recall their meeting on a certain island some time ago. It felt special, even more warm than the feeling when your best friend returned. What this was, though, still perplexed her. She smiled in return, though, when he smiled, and nodded to him.
"Riku! You're here! Well, I mean.. That is.. thank you, for taking care of that thing. I didn't know these did that; it's been a while since I was here last, I think. This place seems so familiar though, it's so strange."
Sure, she had stumbled through some of the words but then it was a thing that seemed to happen, for some reason, when he was around. She put the thought aside for later, just as the same sounds of stone came again. Riku moved closer, and Xion knew they were about to have a fight on their hands. Two more of the stony impersonators took off from their posts, coming straight for the two. Blizzard and Thunder came to life in Xion's hands as she took aim at the stone beasts.
"We've got this! Let's take them down, Riku!"

He heard her words and couldn’t help, but give her a soft smile in return. He wasn’t sure why, but something about her words just made him happy inside. Made him feel at peace. Why was it like this when she was around? He didn’t know, but for once didn’t question it too much as he just accepted that the feeling was there.
“Anytime,” he said giving her a playful smirk become serious as the conversation came back to the statues. “Yeah. This world’s Heartless like to blend it with the environment, so statues coming to life is common around here,” the keyblader would say as he looked at the rest of the strange statues on the bridge. He didn’t want to get caught off guard by another one. As for that comment…. “It feels familiar? Hmmm. Well I do get an odd feeling I’ve been here before too. And it not from my recent travels, but rather like a far off memory I cannot grasp. I ---”
The sound of stone on stone sounded again cutting the keyblader off as his focus turned to watching the statues again as he moved a bit closer to Xion to protect her from whatever was going to happen. When he saw the two statues coming from them, he’d fall into his usual attack position. “We’ll continue this after we get rid of the unwanted company,” he said and then hearing her words, he would throw a confident smirk her way. “Of course!” he responded back confidentially, the feeling inside him as strong as when he had a close friend at his back or maybe even stronger.
With that said, he would push off the ground and head towards the attackers aiming to smash them to bits with his blades.

--♦♦♦-- Every time she thought of him, there was the strangest feeling inside. A warm, happy feeling, like when she was with Roxas and Axel, but different...better, somehow. His playful smirk caused something that felt tingly, like a bubbly feeling, danced inside her, lifting her spirit and making her feel like laughing, maybe like hugging him..it was a strange feeling but it was nice, and it seemed like a good thing. She nodded at his words, when he agreed that the place was familiar, too, but not in recent travels. That fit how she thought it felt, but she hadn't been so sure. With Riku's confirmation, she felt this was true. But when, then, had they been here? And why?
She was glad he was here, though; it felt right. If she had to face these disguised Heartless there wasn't anyone she'd rather fight them with right now than him. She took one of the Gargoyles down with the Blizzard, lightning from the Thunder spell tracking after another. She summoned her Keyblade, hitting the frozen creature with full force and shattering it. She would glance to see how Riku was doing, smiling at how easily he seemed to take them on.
Fighting on the same side...
The thought startled her, it seemed almost as if a voice had whispered in the back of her mind to speak these words. What in the world..? She stopped mid-landing, caught in the moment.
