Rina stepped from her Gummi ship, stepping into a town where night had already fell, feeling a blast of chilly air hit her face and bite at the bits of exposed flesh…that hadn’t been exposed just moments before. Rina looked down to find that the clothes she had just been wearing on the Gummi ship had morphed into something else entirely. She squinted her eyes as they continued to adjust to the darkness and turned towards her ship, so she could peer at her reflection in the side of it. Oh. Well this is a surprise.
The young woman was now dressed in a simple black shift that touched the ground. Thankfully it had long sleeves to shield the wind, but a sweetheart neckline covered only in sheer material to her neck kept her chest quite cold. Over her shoulders was a light purple cloak with hood. She felt a tightness around her waist as she breathed in and out and noticed a gilded purple corset laced tight against her. This made her roll her eyes. Seriously? This isn’t battle practical at all. A light breeze blew by again and made a few strands of Rina’s hair tickle against her cheek. She reached around to grab her hair and toss it across her shoulder. Even though she had seen it in her reflection it was still a shock to see it in reality. Her midnight black hair was now white. As pure and white as snow was. Her eyes were also an unearthly and glowing purple framed with dark eyeshadows and a heavily lined eyelid that ended with delicately drawn spiderwebs at the corner of each eye. Rina sort of liked it. It was definitely something to get used to.
Rina turned away from her ship and pulled the hood of the cloak onto her head. “Well. What does this town have in store for me?”

"Why... If you have to ask..." A dark, haunting tone whispered in her ear, like the voice of a phantom cutting into her mind. "...then you have already come unprepared..." Jack Skellington loomed over Rina from behind, bent over at the waist almost entirely horizontally so that his head nearly rested on her shoulder. His empty sockets were drawn as wide as they could go, his mouth stretched into a smile that nearly split his boney mouth in half, revealing his admittadly sub-par dental-work. His grin was as dark and haunting as the town itself, a representation of all of Halloween's dark pleasures. A cold wind accompanied the skeleton-king, wrapping around Rina as if to encourage her not to move let the force behind it's coming punish her dearly for it.
"Another newcomer...?" The voice mused coldly, harshly, Jack lightly tapping his chin with a long bony finger. "So many of you stumbling into my world recently... What do do with you..." He sucked in air through his teeth, shredding it into long, high-pitched noises as it passed through...
...Before a boney hand was outstretched, offered to the witchy woman!
"How about a handshake? Call me Jack! I'll be your guide this evening!" Should Rina turn around to face him, She would spot the tall lanky form of the Pumpkin king in his finest black cob-web patterned black suit, his collar neatly tucked and his shoes freshly sprinkled with dust! The skeleton's grin was as warm as any fleshy person's his composure as calm and casual as someone in their own home! After all, this creepy little world full of spiders and centipedes was what he called it! Just the way he liked it!
"What's your name, miss? We're always open to guests here!"
Despite his greeting, however... Jack was somewhat perplexed how she managed to get here... Was it that... machine behind her? It looked almost like the jets that shot him down that one fateful christmas! Ugh... Bad memories go away! With so many folks making their way here... He had to wonder if there was a new door somewhere...

Marlene wasn't sure where she was; she also wasn't sure how she had gotten to this new world. All she knew was that it was not anywhere near home; she also felt different, but she hadn't found a mirror or anything yet to look in. So she had been wandering around, and with a light, as she had found a small glowing pumpkin that seemed to be made just for her; it was the right size for her to carry. It had been rather a surprise when the pumpkin had squeaked at her, apparently it could talk?
She thought she heard voices, but every time she looked around there was nobody there. It was very strange; almost as if the wind itself was talking, but in a whisper as it passed and moved around. She didn't know what to make of it, just kind of accepted that this kind of thing seemed to be normal. Certainly the surroundings weren't normal...but then again, what was normal here?
Marlene hoped she might find someone familiar, though she knew the chances of that were probably small.
"Helloooooo?? Anyone here??"
She didn't know that her whole appearance had changed upon her arrival in this spooky place. It was dark enough that she hadn't been able to notice yet. However, upon seeing her others would notice that she was not a human girl anymore; she was a somewhat cute version of a rag doll, with a pink bow stitched around brown yarn hair, and button eyes, though they are two different colors, one blue, one black, and one seemed to be stitched on a bit unevenly when compared to the other. A patchwork dress covered her, with a heart stitched on the upper left side.
"Where is everyone??"
She continued wandering, right up until she bumped into someone.

Rina's body tensed as the warm breath of the figure behind her brushed against her cheek. The young woman had to restrain the urge to jerk her shoulder into the stranger's face. She didn't care much for the close proximity of this friend or foe, but she reasoned that a show of aggression might not be the best thing while visiting a new world. He murmured what could have been interpreted as a threat (What to do with me?!) and Rina whipped around to face the stranger... and was greeted by a strange site.
A skeleton man much taller than her loomed before her with his bony fingers reaching for a handshake. He introduced himself as Jack and it seemed his demeanor was now friendly instead of ferocious. Was the spooky façade moments ago, just that? A façade? How odd! Rina reached out and took the fleshless fingers in greeting and were shocked to find that they were warm.
"Jack, you said? My name's Rina. What is this place?!?"

Jack tilted his head, his smile waning a bit as Rina expressed her confusion as to her location. Oh dear, another stranger? Hmm... There seemed to be so many nowadays... People that didn't know who they were or what they were doing here... Some of them caused problems, interrupting their preparation for Halloween knowingly or not... Others just lingered about... kinda creepily even! Jack Skellington was having... difficulties keeping the tension in the town down with this influx and out-flux of people... but what else could he do? He didn't have the power nor the WILL to send these people back to where they came from... What if it was a nasty place? Still... his day was gonna get a bit more difficult.
"Well... You're in the forest outside Halloween Town!" Jack explained with practiced enthusiasm, Smiling as wide as a skeleton could. "Welcome! I..." He paused, hearing a voice upon the ghastly wind... It was young, far younger than the woman standing before him now. Jack's smile fell into one of almost fatherly concern as he turned his head in the direction of the call. "Oh... A friend of yours?" He asked, almost under his breath. "I think I'll go introduce myself! You can come along if you like!"
Whether or not Rina chose to stay, Jack would turn on his heels and make long strides towards the child's voice, eventually coming upon her from behind as she continued to call for someone! He froze, shocked by what he saw: A little girl... maybe only a little older than his eldest child, a rag-doll like Sally... A relative she hadn't told him about...? Did Finklestein make a new one!? A giddiness started to build up inside the rib-cage of ol' Jack, seeing another one of his girlfriend's kind! He just HAD to introduce himself!
Jack would fade into the shadows of the forest as if he were a part of them, suddenly appearing before Marlene as he quickly scooped her up in his arms! He couldn't help himself.... She was so cute! And look at her with her adorable button eyes and soft yarn hair...
"Why, Hello there!" He greeted, cradling Marlene gently, his face aglow with joy and curiousity. "Where did YOU come from? What's your name?"

Marlene hadn't expected to bump into anyone, much less to be enthusiastically greeted and picked up to a great height (well, high for her anyway). She squeaked when she was scooped up, surprised. Her little pumpkin fell from her hand, though it did not break, merely bounced a bit upon landing on the ground. She stared up at the figure's face, the one who had scooped her up with such a cheerful greeting. He had a big round face, and he smiled weekly in a great show of not-scary friendliness. He wasn't scary at all, if she really looked at him. She smiled back at him, filled with wonder, but she was still very uncertain about where she was or who was around. She wasn't used to being cradled as she currently found herself but it was actually very comfortable and reassuring; is that why a lot of people did this with small people?
"I'm Marlene... Who are you? Where is this place?"
She was very curious indeed, and glanced to the person standing near the one who had greeted her and now held her. A witchy-looking person, but the outfit was definitely impressive.
"Hello, to you, too!"
She felt it would be rude not to greet the other, even if she did somehow seem familiar...

Rina glanced behind Jack to see that there indeed was a newcomer to the scene. From this vantage point it looked like a child in the guise of a rag doll. There was something itching Rina’s brain about the girl, but she couldn’t place it just yet. She followed behind Jack, the hem of her gown making a scratching noise as it dragged against some dead leaves along the path. She readied to introduce herself to the child, but was stopped in her tracks as the girl introduced herself as Marlene. Marlene?! The girl Rina had met not that long ago? What were the odds that it were the same child? “Marlene? Marlene Wallace?! It’s me! Rina! We met at the fountain near my house! I know I look different here, but you look just as cute as ever! I wasn’t sure if we would ever cross paths again.” Rina stepped closer to Marlene and Jack with a smile on her face. “I’m so glad to see you.”
