Anger, hate, pride, jealousy, regret, sadness, insecurity and much more were all the things that the darkness fed on. The darkness took advantage of that, took advantage of all the negative feelings that a person had and caused nothing but pain. Terra and Riku both struggled with the darkness and found numerous forms of pain and anguish from it, but Riku learned that the darkness was something that was a part of everybody. It was scary and overpowering, but something that should not be feared. The darkness was a part of a person just as the light was a part of someone as well.
Riku couldn’t help but close his eyes a bit and nod a bit in regards to his words. “You right, but we won’t let our mistakes define us. Those mistakes make us who we are and what matters is how we move forward from those mistakes” Riku said resolute in his words. He made peace with his mistakes and while he still held those regrets and couldn’t look back on those times without feeling some guilt, he still didn’t let it take over the life he lived now.
The main thing was to make up for his mistakes and he intended to. It was a relief to hear that Aqua wouldn’t regret her choice and he let out sigh of relief. Terra was right, if he wanted to face Aqua it would have to be with a smile.
Riku smiled as he looked over at Terra and gave him a nod. “No matter what happens, the bonds that we all have aren’t easy to break. We’re friends aren’t we? You have lots of friends waiting for you, so let’s not keep them waiting” Riku said as he held his keyblade in a reverse grip and held it out for a friendly bump of weapons.
