... Terra woke up. It took him some moments to remember that he had passed out shortly after arriving here. He wasn't really sure how long he had been out, only that waking up here was far better than where he was before. As he laid on the beach he scanned the sky before hopping back onto his feet, slightly wobbly, but no worse for ware once he regained his balance. How long had it been since he felt anything at all? It was almost indescribable. The feeling of warm sunlight on his skin, the feeling of shifting sand beneath his boots. The light breeze blowing across his face. It was overwhelming, it led to him staring off into space for a moment. Though after a long minute of absolute stillness, he was shocked back to reality by the sound of an object clinking as his feet shifted. He reached down towards the sound, and lifted up a strange...Star-shaped trinket. His memories were still so distant, like they were really there but unable to be called to the surface of his mind.
... A tear formed in his eye, though he wasn't able to understand why.
But even despite this lack of understanding, something inside told him this was important, that without it he would have a far harder time of finding himself. He opted to simply place it back where he had found it, for fear of losing it."I have to figure out where I am. Without that much I'll just be wandering blindly into the dark. I...Can't let that happen again."He spoke quietly to himself, trying to ascertain what to do first, he knew his goal, but the "how" of achieving said goal was...Admittedly lost on him at the moment. He looked up at a tree overlooking the ocean. It sat neatly on a small piece of land raised up from the beach. His eyes shifted along from this area, to a bridge. Across that bridge and towards a door. It wasn't long before he connected that door to one at his level, and gave himself a calm nod. He made his way towards said doorway, entering without a second thought, shortly emerging up above and crossing the bridge. though instead of going all the way across, he stopped midway. Looking off towards the large beached ship that sat at the opposite end of the island."Was that...Always there?"He shook his head, sighing. What kind of question was that? He didn't know what this place was. But then what prompted such a familiar question in his mind? He rubbed his forehead, opting to just finish crossing the bridge. From this little spot under the tree, one could faintly see what lay on the stretch of ocean visible from the other side of the island. Was that...Another island? Well, if he couldn't find any clues as to his location from here, perhaps that place would have more answers? Still, it was clear there was more to this than just "clues on the land". If he was going to figure anything out, it'd have to be from a live person.Riku

He was at the islands again. The familiar smell of salt air and the sound of waves greeted his ears as his eyes watched the world around him in silent appreciation of the beauty all around. He couldn’t count how many times he had been on the familiar island, running across this person or that every time he visited. He was beginning to get used to coming back home and enjoying a bit of piece before having to go back into the worlds and face whatever rested out there. The lull of the waves always seemed to take with them all his worries.
Staying where he was for a moment longer, the keyblader would eventually shift in his spot and began to walk along the beach, his boots crunching in the sand as he moved at a casual pace along the water line. He would go along familiar paths, checking out this and that for many hours before he was distracted as he sensed something on the island. Pausing where he was half way up the path to the hidden area, Riku would take a look around the island the vantage point he had quite good to viewing the whole place. He didn’t see anyone on the beach, so where was the strange sensation coming fro-? Huh?
His eyes would narrow as he caught the sight of a figure on the island with the paopu tree on it. He couldn’t make out who the figure was from here, but didn’t need to. What mattered to him was whether or not the presence was one of Darkness or not. He searched the energies on the island and could indeed since Darkness from the figure, but also light. The two forces seemed to do a strange dance within the other making it hard for Riku tell if he should be concerned about the present or not. He would debate for a moment about what to do before finally settling on just going over to see who the person was.
So shifting from his spot, he would go back down the slope and go across the sands to the familiar doorway and path that led from the lower level of the beach to the upper one. Going through the cool gloom, the keyblader would push open the door on the other end and stepping out onto the small island and then the bridge that led to the island the tree sat on.
His steps were quiet, but he wasn’t trying to hide his approach so anyone with good ears could pick up that someone was coming; however, the closer he got to the figure the more his steps slowed until he had finally stopped at the end of the bridge as he looked over the figure by the tree. The form, the clothing, they were all so familiar to him, but why? Where had he seen this before? He would close his eyes and think for a moment.
Yes...Yes. He had seen this before when he was still very young. This person was standing on the shores of his home and out of curiosity he had approached. They had talked. A keyblade was shown to him for the first time. A secret was made between them. Yes. This figure before him was the same, but how could that be? Didn’t this same person become lost to the Darkness?
Aquamarine eyes would open and narrow a bit as he observed the person before him, a single name escaping his mouth as he did so. “…Terra?” he would ask his mind scrambling to determine if this was real or some trick set up by Xehanort to make him think Terra was here now. Though why such a trick would be played upon him was beyond him. Still he could never be too careful.

The light breeze coming from the ocean eased his mind as he stared off into the endless expanse. Strange memories shifted even more into his mind as he felt something appear on the island. Something...No, someone he remembered from so long ago. Someone he passed his hopes and dreams onto. They were...Nearby. He waited calmly, though perhaps it's more like he didn't really know what to do in this situation. He heard footsteps approaching, and stop suddenly...And then familiar voices called out his name. He turned in shock, for a moment he thought maybe he heard three voices calling out his name, though what entered his sight sadly wasn't them...But, it still surprised him all the same. His emotions ran wild still. He reached out wistfully, struggling to speak and break the silence. Though once he did, his words were simple...But natural as though he knew the right words to say."You're...The one I chose."That name escaped him. What was his name...? The more he struggled to remember, the more the memories came back to him. Yes...That little boy in that world of light, the one who wanted to see beyond the limits of that world. It was him Terra gave the inheritance of responsibility to. Every single word uttered, every image was visible in his mind once more. Though he still didn't have a name for this place, he knew one thing for sure. The echo of that boy's name..."...You're...Riku."It was strange, but Riku...Seemed just as surprised as Terra did. Evidently there would need to be an explanation of how this meeting was even happening, but for now...He was just happy to see another living person - Especially one he recognized. He smiled, though involuntarily tears ran down his face without him even making notice of them. Though once he did, he wiped them away, apologizing."...I'm sorry. It's just been so long since I saw someone else. I...Think I forgot what it was like."Hopefully it would be clear to Riku through his words and lack of violent action that this was no false-shade. But rather Terra himself back alive once more, even if it wasn't entirely clear how he had returned -- What remained true was that he knew far too much to be a mere replica.Riku

He would stand quietly before the other unsure whether to trust his eyes or not. The person certainly did look like Terra, but was that really possible? Could someone said to be lost to the Darkness really be here now? Riku was unsure at first as he watched the other. He was reaching out to him….The young man narrowed his eyes a bit as very nearly took a step towards that hand. It was almost too real to be true and yet….there was always the chance this was a trick. He couldn’t let himself fall into it and yet….
Those words….He had indeed chosen him, but still couldn’t anyone trained well enough said that? Or a copy of him? A bit distressed internally, the keyblader could only nod this time around as he looked down at the sand torn between wanting to trust the other and not wanting to be tricked. Sometimes he hated this part of him, but in this crazy ass war one couldn’t be too careful, but was he being overly careful. The guy took a while, but spoke his name. Still it wasn’t enough….This couldn’t really be Terra could it?
Riku would look back up at the other, his expression turning to one of shock and confusion as he saw the tears and heard the words spoken. It only further made him doubt what he was thinking and for a few seconds he didn’t know what to do or say. He shook his head and looked down searching his Heart for answers for aid until suddenly like a wave on the warm sands a calm came upon him.
He would look back up at the other as his body relaxed and his expression softened. This one was real. “Yes. I am the kid from long ago that you chose. Forgive me for not being warmer towards your arrival. I just…” he would sigh. “Have had a rough time when it comes to people looking like you is all.” He would give the other a sheepish smile as he took a step closer. “Even so, it is surprising to see you here. How did you get here?” Did he like himself find his own way out of the darkness?

Rynn’s very own adventure had been long overdue. Ever since he began having those weirdly probably-real real dreams slowly become more vivid in his mind, he had an odd feeling. He had been having those dreams pretty frequently, but was any of it real, or not?
His nigh insatiable curiosity called out to him, and he knew one thing. That being, staying around Twilight Town wasn’t going to do him any good. So, at his earliest convenience, he made plans to travel to other worlds via interplanetary Gummi Ship services.
The first destination on his list in fact came from something he had heard the dreams he was having; ‘Go to the archipelago, stitched together by the fruit if fate itself—’ That was one of the last things he remembered hearing among the haze of words and voices before waking up. After asking around, he knew the name of the place; ”Destiny Islands...” Rynn idly whispered to himself as he disembarked from the Gummi Ship that took him to one of the bigger islands.
Unbeknownst to the kindhearted young mage; fate was stringing him along it seemed. Wandering around the main island didn’t prove to be all that useful, and he always found himself glancing out to the ocean. While absentmindedly gazing off into the horizon, Rynn noticed another small island in the distance, and on a nearby shore; a small and rather old— but still operational— abandoned row boat in the sand.
Looking between the tiny vessel and the distance, Rynn jogged over to the boat, just to see if it was owned by anyone. He asked around the nearby port and it turned out it was for public use; youths of the world used these things to get out to sea and hang out on some of the other nearby islands; one in particular was a popular spot. Feeling at ease to now use the little rowboat, Rynn thanked those that gave him guidance and went on his merry way.
The voyage took a little while, but Rynn was quite lucky that the ocean was calm. Finally reaching the island he intended to see, Rynn felt like he was now definitely at the right place. Unfortunately, it seemed as though no locals were currently here… Or so he thought.
Rynn caught a glimpse of two figures up on a smaller landmass that was connected to the main one by a little bridge; they were near a crooked tree of some sort. Perhaps they would know something, if they too were locals or simply well read enough. Rynn jogged over to the footpath and towards a tiny wooden outdoor closet of sorts, Rynn decided to forego the use of the door and simply clipped up the side of it to get to the same elevation as the people he saw.
Making his way across the bridge, Rynn decided to make his presence known, since startling people could be quite rude. ”Excuse me, I’m not interrupting something, am I?” He inquired, trying to get a good look at the duo he had found.

He noted the doubt in Riku's expression. The boy didn't trust him easily, and while he couldn't put words to it, in a way...Terra understood the distrust as a burning hatred welled up inside. A name flashed in his mind like a fire "Xehanort". Scars of a past he still didn't fully remember, but it was quite clear where this distrust came from. Terra would give a firm nod, his expression darkening slightly."I understand. It's him, isn't it? He has no power over me. Not anymore."No further context was really needed. What he didn't say, it was likely Riku understood. Either from his own experiences, or based from the determined look in Terra's eyes. He wasn't going to lose a second time. Not now, not again. Still, he lowered his guard, if only for a moment. If Riku was willing to trust him, that was enough. However, he did have a legitimate question, thankfully one Terra had an answer to."A boy with a keyblade fought me. Because of him something woke up inside of me. I wandered the lifeless landscape for a long time before a warm, familiar light enveloped me. I...Woke up here. I recognize this place, but I can't remember the name..."Suddenly however, his thinking over the name of this place was interrupted by a friendly voice behind Riku. He looked past the lad and noticed someone cloaked. His guard was immediately raised and he was visibly on the defensive. Though he didn't act on anything yet...He replied cautiously, it wasn't that Rynn had done anything wrong, but Terra had...Experiences with people in black cloaks."...No, sorry. You're not interrupting. I suppose it's just a friendly conversation between friends."------ Riku @rynn

He didn’t like giving someone he knew well a hard time, but with all the stuff he had been through lately seeing Terra again was something that filled the boy with joy and dread all at once as his pass came to bug him. All the memories of his time in hell and the mind games the one called Xehanort played to this day made the keyblader leery of the other at first….and seemed the other understood exactly why. As he heard his words, the younger keyblader would nod as a soft “Yeah,” escaped his lips as the rest was left unspoken. The two men understanding each other completely at that moment with no need to extras. They both had tasted the “gifts” that man had to on offered. Both had fallen, but….
“I am glad to hear that,” Riku would say with a soft smile before becoming quiet as he listened to what Terra had to say about how he was here now. “A boy with a keyblade,” he would repeat the words as he folded his arms and raised a hand to his chin in thought. He would look off to the side for a moment wondering if that boy was Sora. If anyone had the power to awaken anyone it was him. That aside, the keyblader would look back over at Terra and nod. “Well, hopefully that all signals the end to your wandering. As for the name of this place, it is called Destiny Island.” A fitting name considering that it was once more bringing together hearts that were once separated by the darkness long ago. This place…really was something else wasn’t it? Before Riku could follow that train of thought, he would take notice of Terra’s change in behavior just as he sensed another presence on the island. Turning slightly, Riku would look over his shoulder at the newcomer he spoke and Terra answered. In response, he would simply shake his head for now at the other, but otherwise say nothing as he tried to determine if this one was a threat or not.

Rynn coughed awkwardly as he waved. “Sorry, I uh, didn’t exactly expect anyone to be out here really.” He said, slowly approaching. Upon closer inspection; it would be easy to see that Rynn’s cloak was completely different to that of a certain Organization. Of course, at first it would’ve been easy to mistake his cloak for a dark grey cloak, where in truth it was magically iridescent; a fact proven by how the light of the setting sun went across it. It had no zip either, and the bottom was stylistically frayed majestic looking. Furthermore, the interior was a stark off-white, leaning towards a very mild minty tint.
Pulling his hood down, Rynn properly revealed his face so that the two could see him. Sure, he was a pale white but it wasn’t anything like a Nobody, he had black hair and most importantly of all— he didn’t have those yellow eyes of ill omen. All of that aside, his ‘aura’ should either Terra or Riku be able to sense it, it certainly wasn’t one of darkness— quite the opposite in fact, Rynn was one firmly on the side of light… Additionally, he seemed quite mystical! Rynn moved over to the tree that grew the special fruit— the one growing at a weird angle on the little outcropping, and looked at it curiously, as if he was studying it. “Huh… Exactly like in my dream. Weird.” He said aloud, mostly to himself but he was audible enough to be heard.

He was certainly glad Riku finally relented in trusting him, though could in his own way understand why it took so long. Still, he listened to Riku's words intently, an end to his wandering huh? At those words, he lowered his head, the memories of his friends came to mind. Those whose names escaped him, but their faces...They were unforgettable. He replied to Riku, unfortunately forlorn in tone."No. I can't rest yet. There are...people who are important to me that I still have to find. My friends."Though he did give Riku an appreciative nod once the younger man mentioned the name of this world. Finally with a name, he felt somewhat less...Aimless at the current moment. "Destiny Island"...It gave him hope, surely the other two must have been here at some point, right? Still, putting that aside, he wondered if perhaps there were more answers to be found."Destiny Island... Yes, I've...Been here once before."He looked over at Rynn as he removed his hood, relieved to see that this man was not his enemy. He wasn't...Xehanort. He didn't even feel as though he had a connection to Xehanort, even. Not like the feeling he got from himself and Riku. It was a painful reminder of all that had transpired. Still, in a way it felt strangely comforting to be able to lower his guard for once. Years of...Waiting, thoughtlessly and without purpose. Those things he feared a return to. Being able to feel once more, to discern good from evil. One could never really understand how amazing such basic functions were, unless they had suffered a similar fate. He hoped from the bottom of his heart that neither of these two would ever have to experience such a thing. He noticed Rynn taking an interest in the tree, and it's fruit. He spoke on instinct, uttering words that felt familiar to him."So...Your destiny is connected, too."Such a vague phrase, but...Perhaps Riku would have understood it's meaning. The paupu fruit. A symbol of eternal friendship, those that hold this symbol, they will never be separated. Without thinking, he once more looked at the star-shaped amulet he held. It's shape exactly the same as the fruit growing from that tree. He stared silently at it for several seconds, not uttering a word. Though all at once he placed a hand upon Riku's shoulder, his tone becoming slightly more urgent."My...Friends. Have you seen them? I think...They came here too. Once. One has...Blue eyes. The other, green."He tried desperately to give Riku a description, but his memories were cloudy, at most he could only remember their faces - the color of their eyes. He could only hold onto the hope that Riku would have some idea, anything at all. A name, a place, their fate. He looked over to Rynn once more."What brought you to this place? Was it the star shaped fruit? Was it...The light?"It was undeniable that this place radiated a warm light. A comforting pure light. It would not surprise him had Rynn been drawn here by this almost alien light.
It had done so for him too, once.------ @rynn Riku

Riku had been awaing this moment ever since he was a little boy. The legends of the boy that left the island to another world always raised his curiosity and when Terra showed up it was something that amazed him. It was Terra that spurred him to escape the world and Riku respected the keyblade wielder a great deal. Though their meeting was just a mere moment, the brown haired male was a role model to him in a way.
It was a shame that Riku wasn’t as trusting as he was before, but even though this seemed like the same Terra he met all those years ago, it was also different in a way. Terra had gone through a lot and this was something Riku could tell. A man that was lost and seeking the friends that he lost, it was just something that made Riku relate to the man. Even so their past actions were more similar than he knew.
Terra seemed to be fixated upon the sight of the paopu fruit tree nearby, something that made Riku wonder if it was something special to the fellow keyblade wielder. In a sudden moment, Terra suddenly took grasp of his shoulder and Riku looked at Terra and took notice of his urgent words. Terra began to speak on about his need to find his friends and how he needed to seek them out and from his description of them that Riku finally began to realize something.
The description given to him was far too vague. Blue and green eyes were very common. It was hard for him to even help him with such a description and he found it odd that Terra would even give him such a vague description. It was upon further thought that he realized that the description he gave was the only thing that Terra could give. Terra was struggling with his memories. Riku had already found it odd that Terra was speaking as if he didn’t know that they had met in the Destiny Islands and for him to only give an eye color instead of anything else spoke well enough.
Terra was struggling deeply, yet even though his memories were fogged, the bond with his friends was as strong as could be. Riku could only close his eyes and in response, he placed a hand upon Terra shoulder as a means of comfort. “You mean Aqua and Ventus, am I right?” Riku said before opening his eye with a soft smile. “Me and my friend Sora met Aqua a long time ago. I’ve heard from King Mickey and Master Yensid about them as well.” Riku said as his face turned serious. “Our goal is to rescue them...you don’t have to fight alone Terra” Riku said as he released Terra’s shoulder and walked towards the shore of the beach.
“The Destiny Islands is the place where we first met. It’s where you gifted to me the keyblade and motivated me to start my journey” Riku said looking down upon his hand as he clenched it tightly. “It’s a small world, a place I once called a prison” Riku said looking out to the sea as a cool soft breeze blew by “...but it’s my home. No matter where we go or how far we are...no matter how deep into the darkness we may sink...there will always be a place called home for us to return to” Riku said with a smile as he looked over his shoulder at Terra "a home in the light" Riku said.

Terra was...Almost panicked, he was confused and struggling to piece together what memories he could reach in that clouded mind of his. He gave Riku exactly what he knew about his friend, but it was hardly anything at all... He realized far too late after he had given the description that it wouldn't be anywhere near enough to find an answer, and he grew weary, he searched his mind in desperation, looking for more... Words? A special trait? Something they had given him? His panic was soon shaken however as Riku placed a hand on his shoulder, returning the favor. Though this wasn't a grip of urgency, rather... One of calming, of reassurance. With one simple phrase, Riku opened up so many memories within the mind of the older wielder.... Upon hearing those names his tensions eased away. And he even smiled a little. He closed his eyes, giving Riku a nod."... Now I remember. I made a promise to them so long ago."There was that other name however... "Sora". He had never heard the name himself from the memories he could witness. But... He had this feeling that he knew exactly who Riku was talking about."So that's who he was... If you see Sora, tell him I said 'thank you.'."He didn't elaborate any further on that. Sora was a major reason Terra could even see the light of day again. Maybe there were others - For sure Aqua and Ventus were one of the other reasons, but that kid... He really didn't give up. Even when the fighting was as difficult as possible. He perked up as Riku continued to speak. Yensid and Mickey were involved in this? And they were still safe? But what about his friends? They were trying to rescue them, so..."You know where they are then?"He watched as Riku walked along the shore line. As he spoke about their past encounter, just hearing those words... It helped perhaps more than Riku could have realized. It helped surface more and more memories. His head still felt foggy... But Riku's words were already ringing true - He didn't have to fight it alone. It was almost in his blood at this point to do things alone, to go running off by himself. He had done it so many times before, but... He wanted to change his mistakes, and part of that meant trying to work through his flaws. If that meant relying on others... Then perhaps it was a change he would just have to get used to. Oh, but that inheritance... He was curious now:"So, you have your own keyblade now? It sounds like you've already gone and surpassed me."He laughed lightly, a... Very alien feeling after all this time. It wasn't unpleasant, but... It almost felt odd to him at the same time. He was so alone in the graveyard. Was it... Really okay to enjoy small moments like this?"A home in the light... I can only hope there's still a home left to go back to after what I've caused."He looked reflective, remembering all the mistakes he made, and how part of the reason Aqua and Ven were in trouble to begin with was due to his search for personal power. He tried not to let it bury him in despair however, he still had a promise to keep. Now that he had a second chance - He wouldn't let anything stand in the way of that promise.--- Riku

Perhaps it was destiny that brought him and Terra together all those years together. They were two men that walked similar paths. They were loners that struggled with the darkness and sought the light. They made mistakes, and wished to make amends and they had friends that they could not do without. Though they hadn’t known each other for long, Riku realized this fact and he realized perhaps he was the best to understand Terra and the burden that the elder keybearer bore.
Riku couldn’t help but smile as Terra said that he recalled his friends, but he raised an eyebrow at Terra. It seemed Sora and Terra had some sort of encounter with each other, but Riku never did hear anything about it. Regardless Riku gave him a nod as he realized that there was no point in questioning whatever Sora has done. The younger keyblade wielder always did go into the craziest of adventures after all.
The waves were calm as he watched out at the sea. As he turned to look over at Terra he couldn’t help but smile back a warm smile at Terra’s words. To hear praise from the man that started his adventure was something that warmed his heart. Riku turned to fully face Terra once more and reaching out he opened his palm as his keyblade appeared in his hand. “This keyblade represents the journey I’ve gone ever since I left this island. I...took advantage of the power of darkness, but in the end the darkness took over me. I fought my friends, caused nothing but trouble...I was...trapped in the darkness, but I sought to make amends, to cast away the darkness. I walked a long and difficult path...fought and even rejected the darkness, but I learned that darkness is a part of me just as much as the light is” Riku said as his grip tightened on his keyblade. The way to the dawn's demonic and angel wings truly represented the path he walked. It showed that from the darkness he weilded, light was born and represented how both were a part of him.
“I made the darkness a part of me and I walked the road to dawn. I couldn’t have made it this far without my friends...” Riku said as he began to smile softly reminiscing about his friends. “...without them I would never been able to of become a keyblade master” Riku said closing his eyes as he placed his keyblade upon his shoulder, a confident smirk appearing on his face. “Which means you’ve got a lot to catch up on. After all, you cant have me surpassing you so easily” Riku said casually issuing the friendly challenge.
Riku’s eyes once again glanced over at the sea watching as the sun was starting to lower a tad and coat the skies in a twilight hue. “Even if your home is gone...home is where your friends are...isn’t it? Our hearts are connected...and it will lead us to a place we really can call home” Riku said before closing his eyes with a sigh. It was in this moment Riku looked over at Terra with a much more serious look. “We cannot locate where Ventus is, but we’re sure Aqua knows where he is. Aqua was located inside the realm of darkness. We still believe that she is trapped deep within there and me and King Mickey are planning on venturing deep within to rescue her” Riku explained.

He listened as Riku recalled his journey up to this point. To think that such a simple gesture as passing on what he knew would cause Riku to go through so much. As the story began, Terra could only feel a slight tinge of guilt. He knew what it was like to be controlled by the darkness. To have led someone else to that self-same power that had almost destroyed him entirely... But, Riku's story slowly changed for the positive. Terra's expression changed from an apologetic one, to one of some level of surprise. Riku had learned to tame the darkness? He refrained from voicing his concerns regarding this. Though... He was curious."Darkness can't be destroyed. It can only be channeled..."He mused to himself, recalling Xehanort's words. But he had pushed Terra in order to manipulate him. Could there really have been some truth to his words? He wanted to deny it. Even thinking of Xehanort brought him some level of anger and unease. Like a fire burning out of control. He shook his head, hands pressed against his face. It seems... He still struggled with his past, even if all the details were hidden from him, His heart knew how to feel all the same. It was only the continuation of Riku's words that brought him out of the festering rage over Xehanort that had temporarily blinded him. He conquered it with the help of his friends... Terra stopped, and he remembered what was most important to him. Within a moment he was able to collect himself once more, hoping that he wouldn't have caused Riku too much concern. The challenge issued to him did cause him to smile however... It seemed like he really had made the right choice."I suppose you're right. After all, I've still got to obtain the title of Master."Home is where your friends are...? Terra lightly gripped his wayfinder charm, staring at it intently. Perhaps there was some truth to what Riku said. After all, it was his friends he missed. Not necessarily the Land of Departure. Ventus, Aqua, Eraqus... He had no idea if he would ever really be able to bring them all back - Even with help. But... It was really what he wanted. If there was even a chance, he had to try. It brought him some level of comfort to hear that Ven and Aqua were still alive. But he was troubled upon hearing that Aqua was still trapped in the dark."So, she's still there, even after all this time..."He shook his head, putting away the wayfinder charm."There's no need for you two to risk your lives. I'm going to go there myself. I don't know why, but... I feel as though she fell into the realm of darkness to save me. Besides, we don't know what will be waiting there. It could be dangerous."He knew what Riku had said about how Terra didn't have to do this alone. But... He felt responsible. It was his duty not only as a bearer of the keyblade... But as a friend. Besides all of that, he smiled once more. Hoping to ease Riku's concerns with reassurance."Don't worry. She's probably fighting off armies of heartless all on her own knowing her. It won't take me long to find her and bring her right back here. And then we can all find Ven, together."Aqua really was always the strongest of the three. He knew if anyone could survive a place like that, it would be her. As much as he didn't want to admit it... She was honestly the only one between her, Ventus, and Terra who really displayed the strength of a master. He pushed any doubts away. All he had to do was find her, and then they would be one step closer to home.--- Riku

His battle with darkness and the path to redemption was something that made him who he was, made him able to claim the title of master. It was with that power that Riku wished to help others and to help the worlds as well. He wished to seek out lost and broken hearts and help aide them. It was the least he could do after all that happened.
With Terra they were one man stronger now. With the upcoming battle against Xehanort coming up they needed as much power as they could get. With Terra they now had 6 of the 7 guardians of light which left either Aqua or Ventus left. Riku resolved to save Aqua and Ventus, he owed it to them after all they had done. They were lost and alone and just by looking at Terra he wished to reunite the three as well.
Terra seemed to know that Aqua resided in the realm of darkness and the older keybearer showed a desire to go into the realm of darkness alone, something Riku just couldn’t’ agree with, especially after Terra acknowledged it would dangerous. “All the more reason that you shouldn’t go in it alone...” Riku said with a determined look. “If it’s true that Aqua is there because she tried to save you then I assume you want to go alone to make amends and save her correct? I wish to do the same, I wish to repay Aqua for what she did...” Riku said closing his eyes.
“Xehanort’s heartless had taken over my body and attempted to claim kingdom hearts. He opened the door of darkness and allowed a chance for a hoard of heartless to escape, but as I was closing the door to darkness, Aqua was there holding off the heartless....” Riku said narrowing his eyes as he looked downwards a bit pained at the thought. “She must have been there for so long and in the end she gave up her chance to escape just so I could close the door...if only I was able to help her then maybe...” Riku began to said but sighed as he looked back at Terra once more determined. “This is why me and Mickey are determined to save her no matter what...not just because we owe her...but because she is a friend in need” Riku said.
A smile formed on his face as he suddenly clenched his fist and held it out to Terra. “If you intend on going alone then I won’t stop you, but me and Mickey will still continue searching as well. We’ll have your back and together we’ll set things right” Riku said.

So... Aqua had done it again. She had gone and saved someone else. Even when submerged in total darkness, she still found a way to be a proper master of the keyblade. He felt an odd mixture of shame for his own shortcomings, and some relief that not even the deepest darkness could ever truly break her spirit. The more he thought on this feeling, the more he realized... He was just making the same mistakes he did back then. He would go all alone, try to forge his own path. ... And be manipulated by shadows. The more he reflected on this feeling, the more those fragmented memories came to the surface of his mind. All of the sadness and anger he displayed back then. Misplaced feelings of betrayal perhaps."You mean you've been spying on me? Is that what he told you to do? Was it the Master's orders? ... I'm working on my own now."... It was that self-isolation that put his friends in this situation to begin with."... I guess we both have a lot of mistakes to make up for."He looked melancholic for a moment. But shrugged it off rather quickly. It seemed however that he had to think it over for a moment... He stood in silence for a moment, only the sounds of the waves crashing against the shore filled the air in that moment. But finally he broke his silence as he listened . Giving Riku a reassuring smile."I know Aqua. What she did to save you is something she wouldn't regret. ... The best thing you can do now is make sure to meet her with a smile."Though his words were probably a bit...Sappy, he genuinely attempted to assure Riku that what happened to Aqua back then, that worrying about "maybes", it wasn't something Riku had to dwell on. He had improved so much, Terra felt a strange sense of pride for Riku and what he had accomplished up to this point. He mulled over Riku's words a little more, and finally reached a decision."... Friendship is something I believed in once. And maybe I still can. You said Mickey is looking for her too? Then... I think between the three of us, we might just be able to bring her home safely. She traded her freedom for the both of us, I guess it's only fair that we work together to make sure she can finally be free, right?"A change of heart. It was Riku's words that caused him to realize exactly what his mistake was. So bitter over the past and his burning hatred for Xehanort blinded him, it was the very same emotions he displayed back then that almost caused him to go down the same path once more. He supposed that the road to mastery was still a little further off. But maybe step by step he could reach that goal one day. But for now? He had to start trusting his friends, people he could rely on. If he wanted to make things right... He had to start by correcting his path.--- Riku OOC note: Italics over dialogue indicate memories/thoughts
