It had been a week since Elfe had disappeared from their home outside Kalm. It had been three days after that since Veld made contact with someone who held rather distressing information. Information about other worlds and other monsters. The connection between them and his daughter was almost too impossible to believe. But even he couldn't doubt the possibility when he found himself confronted with the creatures. They seemed to resist bullets and magic was the only thing that seemed to work at all against them. They were strange to be sure, but Veld sensed a sort of dread around them. That, despite their harmless appearance, they intended to take his life. It was unnerving, to say the least. Thus, there was only one man he could turn to at this moment. A man whom he taught everything. He sent a letter to his former protege, Tseng, anonymously, of course. Veld was supposed to be dead, after all, as was his daughter. What a mess that whole situation was. The letter told Tseng that he should meet someone in the Gold Saucer for the showing of a new play. Something called "I Want To Be Your Canary" or some stupid thing. Veld wasn't even sure he got the name right. But he had the times right so that's what mattered. He also wrote in the letter that the message was urgent and that Tseng should come alone. Veld, however, knew that he wouldn't. He had taught him better than that.
So, Veld sat on a bench in the Event Square, watching the rather poorly produced play unfold, quietly munching on some popcorn. Not that he really needed to be that quiet, the crowd was nearly nonexistent. The folder that was given to him by his contact laid in his lap. Oddly enough, this was one of the more relaxing meetings Veld had. Usually, it was in a dark alley in Midgar or in a recent case, a bar in Costa Del Sol. Here, Veld felt he could finally relax. But he couldn't. His daughter was out there on another world. Sure, she could handle herself but that was years ago and she had the Zirconaide Materia helping her. Years ago, she could cross blades with Sephiroth himself. Now... Veld remained unsure. Regardless, Veld needed to get her back home, at the very least to ensure she was still alive if nothing else. He couldn't lose his family... not again. Veld shook his head. He didn't need to be thinking that. If he had gotten this information, then surely Tseng had some inkling as to what was going on. A simple exchange of information was all that was needed. Who knows? Perhaps this all turned out to be a harmless prank and Tseng would tell his old mentor that Elfe had joined up with the WRO. That was logical, after all, Reeve was a friend of Veld's. Still... all Veld could do now was wait for Tseng's Arrival.

Tseng had only just recently explained to Rufus the truth behind Zirconiade. The truth that he had faked everyone's death but the three that survived the incident had angered the current president. However, at least it was out in the open now. It was over and he could stop worrying about Rufus finding out. He was not pleased and made that blatantly aware. What the man did not expect was to walk into a letter through ShinRa addressed to him, no return address. The director felt a bit a familiarity with the handwriting as he moved to sit and open the letter. He was not concerned about it being harmful. The company screened and made sure that no harmful materials were used of that sort.
Tseng opened the letter carefully to pull it out, reading the sentences. It was rather vague, but he knew what this was. Veld had contacted him. He needed the Director to meet him in the Golden Saucer later today. The Director felt a soft sigh escape his lips as he leaned on his desk, drinking the coffee he had brought in the office with him to enjoy while handling a few reports on his desk.
Well, there was a change of plans.
The conflict then began. Did he tell the president that he was going and what was going on? Or did he head off on his own and manage the situation himself. Veld was no threat anymore. Any information he had when he was Director was most likely obsolete. He was no longer a thread to the company. If Rufus found out without being informed by Tseng, things would get very bad very quickly. It was simply safer to inform the president then go to meet Veld. He had only gotten lucky with Two Guns.
The Director moved to his feet and headed directly up to Elena's office. He moved to knock on the door very briefly before shifting inside, not waiting for an invitation. As he did, he glanced to make sure no one else was there. "Elena. Gather your things. We're heading to the Golden Saucer." He explained to the turk quickly before moving back to his office to gather the things he would need, including the note. He wanted the president to be aware as well, opening his phone to message Rufus to make him aware. 'I just received contact from Veld. I am heading to meet him now with Elena at the Saucer. Rude and Reno will be in the building if there are any issues.'. Though, it would never be that simple as task.
His eyes lifted to see if Elena had come to his office as instructed so they could head out immediately, once she appeared, the group made their way to the helipad to get themselves to the Golden Saucer. He knew Elena would question the purpose of this mission soon enough or he'd be getting an earful.

Elena sat in her office slowly going over paperwork; with no missions lined up and nothing else to really do, the blonde took her time filling in the half a dozen or so files she had found laying about her office. Turks should never fall behind with paperwork, but with the on and off missions, catching up always seemed to never come. A quiet day in her office is what she needed..
Just as her mind started to wonder she heard a knock followed by Tseng entering her office, it was surprising to see him appear like that out of no where, especially since they had no missions today... though his words changed that in an instant. “Yes Sir.” The blonde stood up and put down her pen, paper work would have to wait. But to the Goldern Saucer? Was this some sort of joke? Surely Tseng wasn’t in the mood to go and play on arcades machine? The very thought of that made her smile as she worked on gathering what she needed together, checking her gun for bullets and making sure to pack extra, she guessed this was no vacation.
Elena did as instructed, after locking her office door she shifted towards her bosses office and knocked knowing that he didn’t like anyone just entering without being told too.

What a terrible play.
Veld shook his head and looked into the half-empty bag of popcorn. They had announced that there would be another showing in a half hour. Veld looked at his watch. It was just about time for Tseng to arrive. Veld had always drilled into him that one must always be on time to a meeting. While a few minutes earlier than the scheduled time could be allowed, never show up late. It was unbecoming of a Turk. Veld smiled to himself, knowing he had trained Tseng well, even if he had to leave him with some rather unsavory characters. The former President of Shinra was stubborn and acted too rashly for his own good. His arrogance also damn near cost him the company, as his own son was financing AVALANCHE and secreting them information. Palmer was incompetent, Heidegger was an incompetent blowhard that nearly destroyed the Turks himself, Scarlet was too cruel for her own good and Hojo... Hojo had gone insane, though whether it was due to his experiments with JENOVA cells or not was a mystery to Veld. Whomever he was when Veld first knew him, that man was gone long before he died. From the outside looking in, Tseng and the Turks were the only sane men and women in that Company, though even Veld admitted that might've been more than slightly biased.
It was ten minutes until the next showing of the play would start and the crowd that gathered to watch was quite a big bigger than before. There were eight whole people watching. Veld wondered why Dio wasted so much money on what clearly looked like a money sink. Still, he was sure the man had his reasons. Veld looked towards the doorway and suddenly noticed a long-haired man entering with a blonde girl. This was definitely Tseng and was that... Gun? No, it couldn't be. They looked similar but this gal seemed younger. Didn't Gun's profile mention having a sister? Regardless, Veld gave a rather imperceptible smile before getting down to business, letting the Director of the Turks look for him. It wasn't like it would be hard to spot Veld in a crowd. Once they found him and got closer, Veld, without taking his eyes off the stage, said, "Kind of you to sit by an old man, Director Tseng, though the play's a bit to be desired. Though I suppose anything is bearable with a lovely woman by your side. How long have you two been dating?" Veld then nonchalantly looked over at Tseng and the blonde Turk and tilted his bag of popcorn to them. "Popcorn?"

Tseng nodded at Elena when she knocked. He collected his jacket, phs, sidearm, as well as necessary materia. The note he handed to Elena as he holstered his gun at his side before adjusting his suit jacket. She was able to read and she was smart enough to figure it out. He had stopped to collect the key for the helicopter and moved up some stairs to make it to the helipad. He had gotten in, waiting on Elena to do so as well and put on the headset.
The two navigated themselves there and docked where they needed to to get to their destination the quickest. Once inside the park, it took a moment to figure out where he was supposed to meet the former director. He barely said two words to Elena since he'd walked in her office and dragged her off on this mission. He was surprised that Rufus had not sent anything back or called him yet. But, he was sure it would happen one way or another.
The current director headed into the Event Square and moved down the stone steps, overlooking to small seated customers. Tseng could spot the man a mile away. He had barely changed except that he had aged. Tseng honestly had changed only his hair and his demeanor was more strict than he used to be as a rookie. He had to be for the job. He never understood the pressure Veld had been under until it was quite literally dropped into his lap. He moved silently, not needing to check that Elena was right there with him before moving to take a seat next to the man as if to watch the play.
Veld started the conversation, faintly amused by his calling him 'director' before the comment of their dating. It was honestly true and he was sure that Reno and Rude knew about it. But, it was not spoken about or discussed. Though, he knew Reno to make jokes about it. Rufus almost seemed suspicious of it recently the way he was acting when the two of them were in the same room with him. But, he never let that sort of thing bother him. At least, not visibly. This was no different.
"Sir.... This is my partner Elena. Gun's younger sister. She joined not long after you retired. Elena.... this is our former Director, Veld." Elena had probably never met him before. Veld was not one to join the turks normally at the bar she used to tend in the slums. He shook his head on the popcorn before getting straight into business. "I do want to let you know that Alex showed up in my office the other day and Rufus walked in. So, the president is now aware that none of you are actually dead. Which means he is fully aware you contacted me and that I am meeting you here... What happened?" Tseng knew something had to have happened for Veld to be here. That it had to have happened to Elfe. "Is is Elfe?"

The silence was the killer for Elena, she loved to talk, the sound of her own voice some would say. But she couldn’t help it, sitting in quiet was always so boring. Being partnered with Tseng meant that most of her day was in silence. It was more then annoying. Taking a deep breath she followed the few orders given before landing at the Golden Saucer.
The young women followed Tseng, she had no choice, the sweet smell of donuts, popcorn and candy floss filled the air, it was almost heavenly. But there was no time for any of that, she had to follow Tseng to the seats. Sitting beside her partner, Veld’s comment came out and the women found herself shaking a head with a sigh. She wishes they were on a date. But she properly had more luck dating a film star then Tseng, he showed very little interest in her.
“Pleasure to meet you..” Elena said to the man with a soft smile and the nod of the head, when he offered them popcorn the women had to fight back every force of her being not to accept, the air smelt so sweet, she could honestly eat for hours if she started. “No thank you...” she said letting Tseng explain that Rufus knew they were here.

Veld nodded in understanding, taking back his popcorn and sighing. "I thought she looked familiar. So, a new Turk, eh? Nice to see the Turks still get recruits after my absence. Though, that was another time." Veld bowed his head at Elena. "A pleasure to meet you as well." Veld then kept up the subterfuge that he was enjoying the play, which had just started. He munched his popcorn silently as he listened to Tseng explain the situation. So Alex wanted back in, huh? Interesting, though ultimately none of his concern. Veld trusted Tseng with his life, so what to do with a former Turk was child's play for him. "Well, I can't say that's surprising. Rufus is a shrewd person and he's probably not gotten any softer with time. He would have figured it out himself eventually. Regardless, I'm not worried. I doubt he has much use for a retiree like me." Then Tseng struck at the heart of the matter. Veld couldn't help but feel a small pang of pride at his former protege. Always stay focused on the mission. That was a lesson Veld had drilled into Tseng's brain from the very beginning. Of course, after the mission was done was another story entirely. Veld couldn't hide his sadness, however, when Tseng mentioned Elfe. He sighed and put his popcorn aside.
"My daughter disappeared a week ago, Tseng. At first, I thought she had gone to serve the WRO. Seemed like something right up her alley. I called Reeve and haven't gotten an answer back. I haven't heard from Elfe either. Which is actually the initial reason why I reached out to you. I was hoping you could put some feelers out than I could. Most of my contacts and informants have all moved on with their lives or died during the Crisis. I did manage to reach one and the information he gave was... disturbing." Veld took the manila envelope from his lap and handed it to Tseng, letting him peruse through it. "Apparently people have been taken from the Planet to other worlds via portals. Unfortunately, only a few have been able to come back and report what they found. You'll also find information on strange monsters with an emblem on them. They seemed to have appeared when the portals did. These monsters seem resistant to conventional weaponry. I've fought them myself and magic seemed to be the only way to deal with them. There's nothing concrete, but I'm almost positive there's a connection between the portals and the monsters. Perhaps... there's even a connection between the portals and Elfe." Veld sighed and sat back in his chair, clearly looking troubled. "I plan on searching for Elfe myself. You're probably busy enough as it is. However, if you have any more information on these portals or these monsters, I'd be glad to hear it. If you don't... well, I'd rather keep you informed." Veld then gave Tseng and Elena a hard look. "This should probably go without saying but keep this under your hat for now. I'm aware AVALANCHE still exists under new leadership and I'm not sure how they or the WRO will react to this. Administrative Research and the President only."

Elena was oddly quiet, even with the introduction. It was unusual and it felt really odd to hear. He certainly wasn't going to complain about it. It was a nice change. But, he knew he'd feel guilty about not asking if something was wrong. He made himself a mental note to ask if she was alright later. She sat and declined the popcorn before he and Veld got down to business.
"Only one as Reno was out for a few weeks." He explained. It was when the Avalanche crisis was starting to boil over again with the new group and Reno had injured himself after jumping off the beam. Honestly, the fact that he'd gotten out of the sector was impressive. Tseng would never admit it aloud, but he had been worried about his safety. He always worried about their safety.
When Veld began to talk down about Rufus, Tseng frowned ever so faintly. Veld was always able to read him as well as the current Turks. They knew his thoughts and feelings even if he did he best to keep them hidden below and under the false expressions he expressed. Rufus had grown much from the traitorous spoiled brat that had started. He had matured and was honestly trying to mend the traumas that ShinRa had caused. "He's matured a lot more than I honestly expected. He may come off as uncaring and manipulative. But, he's not anywhere near what his father was." He replied. He trusted the president with his life as much as the president trusted his with the Turks. They were very loyal to the man. Much more than they had been with the former leadership. Tseng might even dare to consider Rufus a friend. "...and that's what worries me. He requested that we locate all the remaining Turks and re-recruit them."
That's when he explained it was Elfe. Tseng knew it. There was no other reason that Veld would risk coming out of hiding. It had to involve his daughter. The former director explained the situation as Tseng listened intently. He had gotten reports about people going missing. It had come across his desk. But, he'd bypassed it as it didn't seem to have a correlation on area. However, now he was regretting pushing it to the bottom of his pile. "Other worlds?" Tseng felt intrigued by this. But how was this possible? Was this Jenova again? Were their more like her out there that were attempting to take over their planet? He would need to get feelers out there immediately. Especially if this was true.
"... I'll have to look into this. I know I had a report about an increase in missing persons. I simply didn't place much trust in it as it was sporadic and not focused on a geographic area....and I haven't heard anything about emblem-ed fiends either." He explained. He would have to get out there and do some research to learn more about it. That's when Veld explained he wanted this between the Turks and the President.
A faint bit of amusement flashed across the current directors place when he realized that he wanted to keep AVALANCHE out of this, but had contacted Reeve directly. "...I take it you're not aware. But if you gave Reeve any information, then AVALANCHE already knows." He started before shaking his head. "Reeve Tuesti is part of AVALANCHE. He had turned on ShinRa after we placed his Cait Sith robot into action to spy on the group. After learning that they weren't like the former when Fuhito had charge, he turned on ShinRa before the collapse. But, after meteorfall...he started the WRO and works in coordination with AVALANCHE and ShinRa." He informed the older turk. This way, he was at least aware. "But I will keep it between us the best I can." He agreed.

Elena kept herself quiet and just listened to the two men talk, the show before them was pretty dull as she pretended to watch, listening to the two men as they discussed why they were here. She didn’t ask questions, she just listened as best as she could without making it to obvious.
These last few months of finding out all the Turks were alive were actually really hard to process, she still hadn’t seen her sister at all, she guessed she was doing ok, but she didn’t ask about. If her sister wanted her she knew where she worked. Half listening into the conversation Elena felt herself smiling. Reeve’s knew where to find most people, he was good at pin pointing that much. If someone needed finding he would be the best place to start. A couple came and sat beside Elena, she said nothing as she arranged herself to pay more attention to what was going on in front of her. She couldn’t stare at the two men talking, it would look to suspicious.

Veld smiled a bit. Now there was a name he hadn't heard in a while. Reno was always the rascal of the Turks, preferring vacations to his work. Still, he was as good a Turk as any of them, moreso when he had his best friend by his side, Rude. The Strongest and the Fastest of the Turks... it was no wonder that when they teamed up, they managed to defeat Shears of all people. It was nice to see that he was still working hard as ever. Then Tseng began to defend Rufus. Veld wanted to disagree, but also knew that Tseng had very little reason to lie to him. Besides, how long had it been since he'd seen Rufus? It was possible that he could change. Veld had to agree that Rufus was nothing like his father, even back then. Then Tseng mentioned that Rufus was trying to recruit the former Turks. The ones who should be dead. Veld sighed as he heard this. "I can't say I'm all that surprised I suppose. The times we live in now are much different than the days when I was Director. If Rufus believes he needs the aid of the Turks I recruited, then by all means, let him do so. Though, it may take a while to find them again. Even I don't know where they all are. As for me... well, I don't think Rufus needs a retiree hanging around his office." Veld smiled at Tseng. It wasn't that he minded going back to the Turks. But it was an entirely new generation of Turks now. He didn't need to be around when Tseng and the senior members could handle things. Besides, he was focused on finding his daughter.
Veld then looked back at the play as Tseng commented on the information. So, he had also gotten reports about the random disappearances. Veld was, again, not surprised that Tseng had disregarded the incidents. Random disappearances wasn't all that uncommon, especially with monsters still lurking about in the wilderness. Tseng then explained about Reeve, which caused the former director's eyebrow to arch curiously. He... didn't know that, to be perfectly frank. Though, in hindsight, it made perfect sense. Out of all the higher ups in Shinra, Reeve was the one who disliked the way the company was run the most. Unfortunately, he also wasn't in much of a position to do anything about it from within the company. It would make sense to look without for help, possibly from the unlikeliest of allies. Veld smirked. "Makes sense. Unfortunately, as I said, I was never able to reach Reeve. So as far as I know, only a few people know about what's going on. However, Reeve isn't dumb. I have no doubt he or even members of AVALANCHE have already figured out what's going on. Though, it is nice to know he's been keeping busy."
It was then that someone came up to Veld and tapped him on the shoulder. He looked up, confused as to who could be talking to him. Was he too loud? He was sure he had kept his voice down to a whisper but then again, it wasn't exactly standing room in the auditorium. The man was dressed in a strange costume as he looked down at the former Director. He kept his voice down as he began to speak. "Forgive me, but it's my pleasure to let you and your two kids know that you're going to be part of the next showing! It's a great play about a knight who saves a princess from a dragon. Don't be shy now!" Veld raised an eyebrow again at the odd man. Kids? Surely he didn't mean... Tseng and Elena? Veld found the idea so absurd that it took all of his willpower to keep from bursting out laughing. Instead he smiled at the man. "You must be mistaken. These aren't my children, merely former co-workers. However, I suppose we have time to kill." It had been too long since he was allowed any fun. Sure, he should probably be looking for his daughter but wherever she was, she could handle herself. Veld doubted Felicia would be destroyed so easily, even without the Zirconaide materia in her hand. Besides, as he explained to Tseng under his breath, "There seems to be a bigger crowd coming in. This'll let us continue talking about the situation without anyone overhearing." Veld then got up and waved a hand dramatically towards the odd man. "After you, my friends."

Elena continued to remain completely silent as the two spoke. It was extremely uncharacteristic of her. He would simply have to ask her what the problem was when he finished speaking with Veld. It was so odd to not hear her speak. But he certainly would not question that now. It was not the time nor place. As he spoke with Veld, however, he noted the faint smile hearing Reno's name. It made sense to the current director. Veld had not seen or heard from or about the Turks since he was executed. Tseng was still surprised that the plan had worked as well as it had. Reno and Rude had been livid as he hadn't let them in on the plan ahead of time. They needed the shock value to make it work and it had. The first moment he could, he informed them of what had happened. Reno could hardly even look at the Director until he was told the truth of the situation.
The past he normally liked to keep in the past. But, occasionally, it was nice to reminisce. He remembered a few of his first missions. One where he had failed to complete his true objective. Veld had trained him well and he'd gotten better at masking his emotions and only doing the logical rather than listening to his heart. They needed to turn that off and stop feeling guilty about their actions. That was what Veld had finally managed to get through his dense skull. Tseng owed Veld so much. The man was like a father to him as his own had disowned him the moment he had even considered joining the Turks.
That's when the Rufus conversation came up and Veld didn't seem to trust what the director was saying. It was understandable with how Rufus had been before. He had tried to have the Turks killed and overthrow his father. But, he had been played and Rufus had learned a lot from that and being kept in confinement for the next few years in the Turk's headquarters. He'd been there for everything they had gone through and had even given him access to ShinRa when the former president had cut their access in the middle of the issues. Tseng had put his trust in the former VP at the time and he had saved their lives and defended them before the committee when Scarlet and Heidegger had tried to have them along with the department terminated. Tseng felt indebted to the man and he put his full trust in Rufus as Rufus did with him. Tseng would almost call him a friend.
"It is taking quite longer than even I anticipated. I reached out to the Turks I know of, but a lot of them followed my instructions and stayed under the radar. Even I can't track them, which is a good thing to be honest. I simply wanted to warn you as he may attempt to contact you independently." He had no idea that the president may make an appearance here. Then Reeve was brought up and Veld seemed genuinely surprised, till it shifted as he rationalized it. Reeve was always being put down and ignored when he tried to make things better for the communities and environment. With the new AVALANCHE, Reeve had first hand experience with their ways and had seen that they cared about the environment as much as he did and turned on his own company to assist them. Tseng have felt guilty having to fight them as they would have with the previous rebel group. Had they known what they knew now, he certainly would have done things differently. Not that they had much choice seeing as ShinRa Senior was in control at the beginning when the worst of it had happened. No matter what, Tseng always trusted Reeve's intentions. Reeve had been the one to save his life when the Temple of the Ancients imploded when he'd been left for dead. Tseng nodded to Veld's statements. "Reeve certainly is keeping busy and I am sure Cloud is already working on the situation. Simply a call from you would have gotten Reeve looking for a reason. I'm honestly surprised he didn't reach back out to you or myself."
That's when he noted the motion and glanced up at the man tapping Veld's shoulder. Honestly, Tseng was surprised the former director hadn't just pulled his weapon on the man or reacted. It was possible that Veld had heard the approach and deemed him a non threat. The costume made it quite apparent that they were part of the play. It wasn't until he spoke that the Director shook his head a bit. Children? The two of them looked nothing like Veld nor each other. They were being invited to join the play and as Tseng spoke up to declined, Veld accepted for all three of them. He explained that it was getting crowded and that they could continue talking while they were on stage. Tseng was completely caught off guard by this as he stood and waved his hand for Tseng and Elena to join.
"Veld..." Tseng warned dangerously. But the attention on them had grown and he didn't want anyone to figure out who they were. That would be bad. The Director was not pleased with this outcome. The look he gave Veld for this made that apparent to him and only him as he carefully stood and moved to the aisle. "We can duck out backstage and find another place to speak..." He didn't realize he had no choice in the matter as they headed toward the stage.

Elena had no real idea what was happening, she sat quietly listening to the two discuss that the bolder generation of Turks had disbanded and went into hiding for good reason. She was more then gutted that she couldn’t reach out to her sister, she wanted to so badly. But no one was able to track her yet. Rod was the closest to the women and yet he had not been found either. It was slightly frustrating that she had yet to see her sister. She wanted answers. Real answers, but she had yet to have any. The sigh was quiet, she just wanted to know that Gun was ok, that was all.
The stage character entered the crowd and the blonde stayed quiet, she could see he was scanning the audience for people to help up on stage, he had told them he would pick a group at random, but she doubted it would be there, compared to some here they were rather old. Just as the hazel eyed women thought they’d skimmed a bullet by the stage proformer, it quickly changed and the man was asking them to join them. Tseng’s voice had said it all. All Elena could do was sit and watch Veld talk and agree. She didn’t want to get up on that stage, for a women who could talk a lot, she hated being thrown into the spot light. She thought if she hide behind the two men she couldn’t be seen, she just kept her head down, before the man started to talk to them about what they’d be doing, his voice was over the top, a man of theather talking like he was in front of royalties. The women sighed a little as she whispered to the two. “I have a bad feeling about this..” Who was she kidding, they couldn’t be found out, so she just tried to keep quiet and distracted from what was happening. “... I hope they don’t ask us to sing... I’m a terrible singer..” she half joked, tseng’s face didn’t look at all happy.

"Your Majesty, your request for help has not fallen on deaf ears! I shall go and save thine princess and slay the dragon!"
Turk training prepared one for many things; Espionage, assassination and reconnaissance. However, it seemed that such training did not prepare him for a desperate cast and crew needing to turn a profit. As soon as the trio got backstage, they were mobbed, pushed around and being shoved into costumes and makeup. Or, at least, Veld was. He had lost sight of Tseng and Elena, presumably lost to the desperate needs of the costume designers. Then the script writers shoved a script into Veld's hands and told him to memorize it and quick. The script was... awful and boring on top of that. So, Veld decided he would need to put some of his skills to the test. Long ago, he had taken acting classes in order to better spy on Shinra's enemies. It was not enough to lie, but lie convincingly. Sure, he was old and retired and it had been years since he ever had to put his acting skills to the test, but it couldn't be hard. Some things you never forgot and as far as Veld was concerned, even if he messed things up horribly, it couldn't be much worse than what he had to sit through waiting on Tseng.
And so, there was Veld, dressed in knightly armor and speaking in antiquated language. This heavily surprised the other actors, to the point that they nearly forgot their own lines. However, they quickly regained their composure and continued the play, encouraging Sir Veld to fight the dragon and the princess. Soon the scene changed as Veld waited backstage. He still hadn't seen Tseng and Elena and wondered if they had managed to escape. They were younger and more capable so it wasn't out of the question that they had succeeded where Veld had not. His time waiting backstage gave him some time to think. According to Tseng, Rufus was hiring former Turks, himself included. While Veld didn't disbelieve that Rufus was after former Turks, Rufus coming for him was a little hard to believe. Perhaps for his brain, but you didn't necessarily need to hire someone for that. Veld was old and past his prime, even he knew that. He still had most of his skills from his days as Director, but they weren't honed and they wouldn't last forever. Besides, Rufus and Veld didn't have the most friendly of relationships. Veld did try to arrest him at one point. Then again, without Rufus's help, Veld would have been executed for helping his daughter and deserting Shinra. It was all quite intriguing, to be honest. Perhaps Veld would consider at least meeting Rufus, if only to pick his brain.

Tseng was going to have to kill Veld. It was that simple a decision to make. He had gotten him into this situation and now he had to roll with it to avoid suspicion. Veld was a dead man walking.
Veld was seperate from the two of them and sent off on stage. The director folded his arms and half argued with the staff as they worked to get him in costume. This was humiliating. He could not believe what they were about to do. He could play a part when it was necessary, but this was not to save his life or for a mission. This was an optional thing that he should not have even been involved in. They would never meet here again. He would never get dragged into one of these ridiculous roles. Tseng stood off stage and watched Veld act out the scene he was given in the night's armor before he was escorted off the stage and the next act began.
That was Tseng and Elena's cue.
They were acting out a small romance scene and it was not his cup of tea. Veld had gotten the easier role. Tseng needed to play a valient knight to awake the sleeping princess from her slumber. Or, that was what the small piece of paper he was given said. Elena had been wisked off to change for this part and when he entered the stage, he had a few 'obstacles' that needed to be handled. He drew the blade as the script told him and acted out what he was told to do. Of course, they added the humor in and it was not funny in the smallest bit as he worked his way to Elena. Honestly, the dress was far from what she normally wore. Not that she really wore dresses all that often. But, the colors were slightly flattering with her hair color. He moved over and the narrirator for the scene spoke up that a kiss would break the curse and the director let out a sigh. The delay was enough to have the narrator clear his throat and repeat that a KISS would break the spell. The audience laughed a bit at the fact that he was delaying it. The director shook his head a bit before following the script once more.
He leaned in and kissed her very briefly to get this play over with. Veld was more than dead. Tseng would make sure to bring him back and kill him again for placing him in this awkward a situation. He was just lucky that no one in the audience had a clue who they were. When Elena woke, they played out the remainder of the script before he carried her off stage and everyone applauded. The moment they cleared the curtain, he stood Elena back up on her feet and removed the cape from his shoulder by undoing the clasp. His eyes landing on Veld.
"I could kill you right now, Veld. That was a stunt that Reno would have pulled." The director stated rather bluntly as he watched his former boss sit there. It might be amusing to discuss down the line, but right now Tseng was displeased. Though, he was sure that Veld was going to find the whole situation amusing. He was always far more laid back about any situations that arouse. Tseng could keep his emotions buried and not show how uncomfortable and odd it was. Especially since no one was supposed to know about his and Elena's relationship. Though, all of the Turks knew about it. No one was stupid enough to say it aloud.
"...Is there anything else that we need to discuss?" He asked. that had gone over a lot of the basics but he didn't know if there was anything else that Veld needed from him. He planned to give the man his phs number so that they could contact one another easier. His phone was protected so he didn't need to worry about giving away anything on Veld. He did care about the man.

Elena was whisked away back stage by two women, both talking quickly about what colour dress to put her in. The women obviously didn’t wear dresses that often, she would rather be in shorts or jeans any day. One women held up a bright pink dress, the other held up lilac colour dress. The women wanted to say no to both, but the two women continued to talk over one another till a third women joined in the conversation. Elena rolled her eyes as she glanced behind her, half listening to what was happening on stage, she was brought back to the room when one of the women pushed the lilac colour dress into her telling her to go change. Elena pulled a face, she wasn’t changing out of what she was wearing. She simply pulled it on over what she was wearing before the director came out and began explaining to her the scene she was going to be in. He told her she would have to lay still and keep her eyes shot until the narrator spoke. How hard could that be?
When the time came for Elena to lay down on the stage she was honestly feeling a little vulnerable, even more so when the narrator explained the only thing that could wake her was true loves kiss. Elena froze, Tseng honestly wasn’t going to do this was he? Here? Now? She could feel herself panicking, more so when the narrator repeated himself, she felt Tseng’s lips on hers briefly, she barely had a second to respond lucky enough she didn’t try, she knew she would look like an idiot if she did.
Once the play was over and Tseng stormed out the back moaning at veld, Elena pulled off the dress and hung it back up, the three women all bickered still about what she had ended up going out in. Elena said nothing as she stood behind Tseng. He had just kissed her in public, she could feel the butterflies unsettling in her stomach.
