Xehanort emerged into the Dark City from his corridor of darkness, looking around at the surrounding area. The skyscrapers were quite tall. The scale of this world was grand indeed. Xehanort remembered this place from his time as the Nobody and leader of Organization XIII, Xemnas. He didn't venture into the city very often, but when he did, he remembered still being impressed by how large the buildings were. He had nothing of the sort back home. The closest he had seen to a city like this was Radiant Garden, and even they didn't have buildings quite this tall. Besides the castle, of course.
As the elderly Master walked through the streets, Heartless emerged from the ground to check him out, but ultimately let him be. His darkness was quite powerful and he himself was incredibly strong... and if there was one thing the Heartless listened to, it was strength. He chuckled breathlessly as the creatures backed down and allowed him to pass into another part of the city; Memory's Skyscraper. It was the tallest of the structures in the city before one got to the castle, and it was quite the impressive sight.
Many important battles had taken place here and this looming skyscraper would certainly see more battles by the time all was said and done.

How long has it been since he had last stepped into this world? He remembered the order Xemnas had given him back then well, the way he was gesturing, giving his final order to the Assassin. That was the last he remembered before he left to take hold of his castle in the middle of the void. The death-trap it would become for him... tsk... he had thought he had the upper hand. The city seemed empty just like the castle, even though everything was still lit.. the windows, the showcases, the Castle-Windows. It was all fake, but for him it had been a home for a certain time. Now, the strong presence of this world had faded to a certain extend.
He stood atop of one of the buildings, watching the shadows on the streets walking around aimlessly, still searching these grounds for something to eat, or just stay close to the darkness this place was created off to rest from their endless search? No.. Heartless don't rest.. What a laughable thought had just crossed his mind? They were nothing but mindless beasts, after all.
Lauriam didn't know what had brought him here today... Maybe it was fate that had led him to visit this place, because a dark aura entered his range. His blue eyes moved down to see a man wandering through the street, the heartless getting out of his way like he was their lord. This man.. the look he had, those eyes... those ears. Could it be? Yes, his power seemed like that of the superior but FAR greater.
Clicking his tongue, he would stand up from the comfortable position he had taken on the edge of the roof, flicking his hand for his body to lose it's hold to the gravity of this world. He floated gracefully and slowly down to the ground somewhere behind the man, watching him continue his way.
“Well, well, well... I would not have thought to meet someone like you here today. Enjoying the view?”
He seemed calm and collected as those words left his lips, his voice soft as usual.

Master Xehanort had been taking in the sights and sounds of the dark and dismal city when as familiar voice came from behind him. Turning to face it, the old Master saw a familiar sight; Marluxia-- or Lauriam as he was now called. His expression betrayed none of his surprise; and indeed he was surprised. He didn't expect to see Lauriam of all people here. Back when he was Xemnas, the man had shown himself a traitor. Xemnas had known this for quite some time, being quite in-tune to his Organization.
That was why he had assigned the pink-haired assassin to Castle Oblivion with the other "problem children." It made it much easier to eliminate them quietly. But here he was, just as planned. Heart, body, and soul rejoined into one being; a "Somebody" as it were. The whole process was arcane, but very interesting. A similar process brought himself back into being. Xehanort tried his best to hide his expression behind a kind smile as Lauriam spoke to him. He simply asked if he was enjoying the view.
The elderly Master expected he didn't make himself known for simple small talk, however. "Ah, Lauriam, lad. Good to see you. Yes, it has been quite some time since I walked these streets... and what are you doing here? Surely you know the old Organization is no longer functional." His otherworldly golden eyes were fixed on the assassin, almost as though Xehanort was searching his soul.

The man was calm as he turned around, a kind, though fake, smile spreading on his face as he started to talk to him. So close to him now, he could feel the terrifying amount of evil that radiated from this man. What did surprise him.. the man called him Lauriam, not Marluxia. He knew about his true name? Also, the man’s words only proved that he indeed was Xemnas, mentioning the old organization. Lauriam couldn’t help but feel a certain amount of disgust build up in his body when he looked at the man, seeing how he seemed to stare a hole in his body. Some would attack him out of rage at this point for sure, but Lauriam knew that this would not solve anything... not now at least.
Lauriam knew why he was here.. he had wanted to see if their were still old reports in the castle he could use for himself... Now the question was, what did HE do here? What did this world hold for such a being to show up here?
“I see you know off my true name. Than you also know I am no longer a creature without a heart.”
Lauriam did not move from his spot, standing his ground against the old man in front of him, his expression rather neutral to hide an emotion from this entity. Not taking his eyes away from Xehanort, he would flick his hand.
“This world has once been my home... Just like yours. Maybe we have both been drawn here by the quiet of a realm without people?”
A smile now spread on his face, the hand he had used to gesture opening up for a rose to form itself in the air in front of him, his fingers taking soft hold of the beautiful flower. “Enlighten me, would you? What is the name you carry now? You know mine, after all.”
Xehanort's smile grew as Lauriam acknowledged the fact that he knew his true name. "Of course I know your true name. In a time not long ago, in another form, I gave you the name Marluxia. Surely you remember. I also knew of your death. The fact that you are here now could only mean you ahve been reborn much in the same way I was." The old Master gripped his wrist behind his back. Lauriam had a bit of insight as to why they were drawn to the world they currently found themselves in... the peace and serenity of it all. A world devoid of life. Perhaps that was the case. In his old age, he grew to enjoy his solitude.
Even in his younger bodies, this remained a constant in his existence. His time spent in the Chamber of Repose as Xemnas was one such example. His time spent in the deep darkness of the Heartless world as Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, with nothing but the creatures of the dark to keep him company was another. It certainly made sense that he would come here to be alone. Oftentimes, he visited the Keyblade Graveyard for that very reason. The old Master let out a raspy laugh as Lauriam conjured a beautiful rose out of thin air. The man then asked the name he went by nowadays.
He didn't see a reason to hide... he would have the pink-haired assassin on his side soon enough regardless. "You knew me as Xemnas in the past, but in this form, I go by the name "Xehanort," if it pleases you." The old man's smile was a little more sinister, but a little more genuine at the same time now. His eyes stopped searching the former Nobody's and instead appeared to be lost in thought, as if the Master of the Keyblade had the gears in his head turning, thinking over his various machinations and where the cog known as "Lauriam" would fit in.
