This was quite unusual. He couldn't see himself. He was sure that he was there. His suit was there, but with an added cape on the back with a slightly different style. He couldn't seem to get his dress shirt color to stay down either. But that wasn't the alarming part. He should be able to see himself, right? He truly felt the confusion as he ran his tongue across his teeth. They almost felt like fangs. His finger moving to his lips. What the hell was going on? First he's with Elena in a snowfield. Then underwater with fins. Some other world called Neverland where he encounter Fuhito and heartless. Now, a rather dark and stoic world. It reminded him of ShinRa Manor in Nibelheim a bit with how dark it seemed.
After a few moments of trying to situate himself, he moved to head into town. There had to be a sole in town that would be able to explain where he was. It was just so dark and ominous. His eyes moved across as he entered the main center of town. The fountain in the middle was quite interesting to be completely honest. He actually moved over to examine it a bit better as he glanced. The clock to his right exclaiming how many days it would be until Halloween.
Halloween?
Why did that even matter? Where they seriously counting down to Halloween here? So these people were all in costume here? All the time? That was no way to live. Tseng never celebrated the holidays. He worked almost every day, all day. He never had time to partake in that sort of practice. Certainly not if Rufus did not. He knew that Elena or Reno would usually make the attempts. But, he never saw much point.
".....really? Halloween....." The man sighed, rubbing his temple. He had no idea that he was dressed the part. Nor that he'd run into Elena again.

Elena had woken up on the other side of town, at first she thought it must have been night time, but that soon changed when she realised that it was just the style of the area they were in. The blonde had seen enough excitement for one week, going from the frozen cold, to becoming some sort of mermaid and to top it of meeting pirates. She had had enough. All she wanted to do was get back to Shinra and relax. But could they find the way back? Of course not.
Sighing the blond moved her hand to her neck to scratch the annoying feeling she had, but instead she came in contact with some sort of metal object in her neck, when she pulled it it was attached to her skin. Rushing over to what looked like a fountain the women looked inside to catch glance of herself, her blonde hair was stuck up right with black at the end, she had black lipstick and eye make up on. And what made it worse was the two bolts sticking out of each side of her neck!! She almost wanted to faint. She was no longer in uniform, instead she was in a black tattered dress that looked so weird on her, it was to gothic for her liking. Where ever she was she wasn’t liking this. She needed to find Tseng and fast. She had no idea he was literally on the other side of the fountain, she just couldn’t see him because of the statue in the middle.

292 words Here you are, guys~ My chosen torture makes me stronger "This place is gloomy too..." Sophia whispered, sitting on a roof and looking around at the strange, macabre city she found herself in. Though this place felt gloomy, there was an air of excitement around it. An air of celebration. It reminded her of Halloween back home. It seemed like this whole town was a shrine to the holiday. The battlemage didn't like how this world changed her clothes though. Now, instead of her normal clothes, she was dressed in a black skirt and dress shirt, a black half-jacket with a high collar on top.
On her head, she wore a large witches' hat that was tilted slightly to cover one eye. Her skin was much more pale now, almost white with a slightly green tint, her eyes a deep crimson. She wore black boots with black stockings to finish off the costume. Still, even though she thought she looked cute in it, Sophia would have still preferred that she put on the costume herself rather than have her appearance change when she enters this place. Looking towards the center of the square, near the fountain, she noticed two people who escaped her attention before now.
"How interesting. I wonder if they're from here or if they're a visitor like me?" A grin found its way to her face. "Well, only one way to find out." Standing up from her seated position, Sophia crouched down before leaping towards the foundtain, landing precariously on the head of the stone creature in the center of the fountain. Standing on one leg, she looked down at Tseng and Elena. "Yo, the name's Sophia. Tell me, do you guys happen to know where I am? I'm still trying to get the hang of this traveling thing." ulla

Tseng was always quite guarded. However, he allowed himself a little more leeway than just jumping to conclusions. People off world tended to not know anything about the company. This meant it was usually a tad bit safer to talk to a stranger here than randomly on Gaia. His eyes glanced her over. She appeared to be a witch to be honest as she spoke to them. The way she introduced herself and asked her location, it was obvious she was jumping like he was. However, her statement of 'you guys' threw him off till he took a step forward to speak with her, noting the blonde hair to his right. The relief washed over him, his shoulders relaxing a bit. At least she was okay.
"Tseng.... This is Elena." He felt like he was talking a bit weird compared to normal. But he did his best to ignore it. He'd have to speak with Elena about what he'd run into the last two worlds. Especially warning her as Fuhito was alive again. That meant Sephiroth or the remnants may be as well. He didn't want to tempt fate if it could be helped.
"From what I can gather...." he paused, gesturing to the clock. "something to do with Halloween.... as for a name, I've just arrived as well. We may need to find a resident to learn that." He explained as they spoke. "As are we. The jumps seems to be quite random."
Tseng turned his gaze to Elena again, her fascination seeming to be the bolt in her neck. It reminded him oddly of one of Valentine's forms.

Elena heard the noise and looked up from the water to see a random small looking witch, she raised her eye brow. At first she assumed she was of this place, it wasn’t like a town would be completely empty would it? But she quickly introduced herself; she hadn’t even seen Tseng till she walked a few steps around the fountain and past the statue in the middle of it. At least he was alive and... a vampire? The blonde found herself smirking a little, letting the man do the talking. But that soon changed; when did he find it necessary to tell a complete stranger there names? She didn’t get him sometimes, if she had said it he’d properly write her up for talking to much.
Letting Tseng deal with the small witch, Elena shifted past the director, noting how he looked a bit like Count Dracula... ‘Count Turkula’ She said in her mind as she moved to see what was going on. Letting Tseng explain to the randomer that they were world jumping too. Same again; Elena would of properly got told off for if she had told the witch they were world jumping. Doing her best to ignore it all she started to wonder away, touching the edge of the gate like fences, for a dark and dusty looking place, there wasn’t any actually dust on the fence itself, it was strange. To strange. But it sure beats being trapped by a ‘women’ with tentacles for legs, who wanted her tongue so she could sing. Or a pirate with a hook for a hand interrogating her on where ‘pan’ was, she kept asking if he had checked the kitchen for the pan, but he only got mad with her. Her eyes then moved up to the massive Halloween like countdown. What a strange countdown clock to have.

309 words notes My chosen torture makes me stronger As far as Sophia could tell, these people were forthcoming. That was good. She had her share of interrogations when she worked under her uncle, so she loathed to pry information out of people. It was much easier when someone gave it up voluntarily. Sophia put on a neutral face as she absorbed everything Tseng said, his partner remaining quiet for the moment. Once he finished, a satisfied smile tugged at the corner of Lady War's mouth. "Tseng. Elena."
Though they didn't have information that was entirely useful to her situation at hand, what the vampire-looking fellow said intrigued her. It seemed they were travelling too, and the places they went were random, much like herself. Sophia took a second to think about whether or not she could learn to control these jumps. She wasn't even entirely sure how this whole thing worked. She couldn't even remember with one hundred percent clarity how she began travelling in the first place, and the travels she did remember, they just occurred randomly.
Finally replying to Tseng, she shot a more convincing smile at him and his companion. "Well, I suppose we should try to find a denizen of this place to give us a little more information." It appeared Sophia was just inserting herself into their group. Then again, why shouldn't she? It made perfect sense in her mind. This was a world that was unfamiliar to both of them, and their goals appeared to be aligned at the moment. She knew that she was capable, and one who could jump between worlds was likely capable themselves.
Given all of this information, it made perfect sense for them to travel together for the time being. She didn't bother asking because she knew that they must feel the same way. At least, if they were as smart as Sophia believed they were. ulla

The blonde Turk looked ridiculous with the get up she had on. It was something straight out of Reno's closet. He did not say a word to her yet, though. He had a witch that he was dealing with at the moment. He'd been rather lucky to get a good deal of information out of other travelers by being upfront and semi-open with the conversation. He did not give many if any real details. Just basic overviews. It was very different than Elena blurting out Sephiroth's location to Avalanche.
Though, she gave minimal response. Neither learning much from the other. The girl was in thought as she replied that they needed to find a local resident of the town. The Director nodded in agreement. His eyes glancing around the rather quiet town.
"It's dark. I'd presume that the residents are probably asleep at this hour." The Turk had no idea that he was incorrect in that. His hand gestured to the woman to lead the way before he moved to touch Elena's back to lead her forward, quietly whispering to her. "Fuhito is alive... The mastermind behind the Raven project while Veld was director..." He explained to the woman. "....and what is with your attire?"

Elena still kept herself to herself, she didn’t trust the new comer and working with them as well didn’t work in Elena’s mind but a last, she let Tseng deal with her however he wanted, she was perfectly happy keeping herself to herself. As the Turk leader with fangs gave his opinion about the residents being asleep the hazel eyed women continued to look around, she felt Tseng’s hand on her back as he whispered to her, she listened about Fuhito and nodded, she didn’t get much to do with Veld, by the time she had joined Turk he was a no subject zone.
“So we need to find Fuhito and put a stop to him?” She said quiet enough so just he could hear her. That was until he mentioned her attire. “You’re a fine one to talk, have you seen your nails are longer then mine and you have fangs.” Elena told Tseng with a shake of her head. “You look like count Dracula’s half brother.” The women said, amusing herself.

181 words notes My chosen torture makes me stronger "A fair assumption." The hour was indeed late. People would likely be asleep. Would that mean they wouldn't be able to find answers until sunrise? Unlikely. There had to be someone awake still in this town. Her own hometown never slept. Someone was always awake and wandering the streets. Even if it was just an arms merchant. Sophie wondered if this place had many smugglers. She could use some armor now that she found herself in an unfamiliar place.
Her sword was all well and good, but a good set of armor could potentially save her life. Its value was not to be underestimated. As Tseng gently nudged his companion forward, Sophia followed behind, keeping an eye out for any enemies. If there was one thing she learned from traveling between worlds so far, it was that monster lurked around every corner. Looking back towards her companions, she noticed them whispering to each other. What they were talking about wasn't any of her business though. As long as they weren't plotting to shank her in the back or something. ulla

Tseng would explain the circumstances later. It just seemed to be how most of these odd worlds worked. The more open and accepting you seemed, the more knowledge and help they seemed to entrust you with. It was not something he normally resorted to. But, if he needed to play the honest and confused traveler he would. It just was the logical reasoning. It was not like anyone knew who they were. If that were the case, he would get his answers other ways. But why exert the extra energy. He didn't want to make a mess of things.
Elena stayed uncharacteristically silent as she stood next to the fountain near him. The girl had shifted before Elena responded to his quiet statements. "Yes." He replied simply to her first question. That's when she responded about his attire. He seemed confused for a moment until she explained that he appeared to be a vampire. The director made a face at that explanation. "Which is why I can't see my reflection..." He let out a sigh and shook his head. This was absolutely ridiculous.
Tseng raised his finger to his k-9, still not really believing that he had fangs. But, elena had never lied to him. He was honestly a bit annoyed at this spin of events. "At least I don't have a piece of metal threw my neck.". He responded calmly as he moved behind Sophia. His eyes eyeing the town as they walked. He had no idea where they were going to find someone semi-reasonable to speak with.

[apologies for late reply, phones been broken 😟 ]
“You say that like I had the option.” Elena said when Tseng referred to the metal bolts from her neck, of course the blonde wouldn’t lie to him, she had nothing to lie about. The hazel eyed women respected her boss and did whatever he asked, that’s why he was the boss and she was the co working. “Fangs surprisingly suit you... know what your next Halloween costume should be.” The women teased knowing full well Tseng would decline any social event like that, maybe one day he would surprise her.
Elena continued to walk with Tseng, the urge to butt out and talk about anything was there but she knew better to in an unknown place; but of course it itched at her. What itched at her more was how relaxed Tseng seemed when it came to this Sophia character they’d meet not minutes ago, who felt so freely talking to them. Elena just kept in front and continued to walk, her eyes glancing about to find someone to talk too.

@tag 000 notes My chosen torture makes me stronger The battlemage continued her trek through the dark and dismal city, her new companions in tow. Still they continued to speak to each other, and Sophia pretended not to be listening while she scanned the area for any residents of this place. Eventually, her eyes landed on a creature on the other side of the square. He was a rather frightening fellow, although the three of them were rather frightening in their own right.
He appeared to be some sort of wolf man being tall, muscular, covered in fur, and having the tattered remains of a flannel shirt and jeans on his body. Looking up at the full moon, Sophia smirked. Of course it would make sense that a werewolf would be outside at this hour. They were normally ravenous beasts, but this one appeared to be rather docile, simply standing around idle. Turning towards her new acquaintances, Sophia jerked her thumb towards the werewolf to point it out to them.
"Well, I think our search is over. What do you say? Should we take the chance of engaging him? He doesn't appear hostile, but werewolves are not known for being social." ulla

Tseng made a face at Elena at her comment about his fangs suiting him. That this should be his halloween costume for the office. She was fully aware that he didn't participate in that sort of thing. It wasn't professional in his eyes, even if they allowed the office to do it. But, that was so unimportant at the moment. They needed to deal with the current situation as it was. Though, he allowed the teasing. It wasn't like this stranger could hear them.
Tseng was not exactly relaxed, but that was what he was trying to give off. So, at least it was working. He wanted to watch her and see what to do. He was judging his reactions off Sophia. At least he hadn't gotten rusty doing more desk work than actual field work.
He nodded to Sophia as she spoke up about the werewolf. "It's possible that he is a resident. Speaking with him may not be a horrible idea." He agreed as he glanced at Elena before shifting to follow Sophia. The werewolf glancing at the group. "Hey, you don't look familiar. You not from around here?" He asked, Tseng glancing at Sophia.

Elena couldn’t believe they’d just walked up to a werewolf and started a conversation. Of course this wasn’t sort of werewolf you read about or heard about in fairytales. This one had a long snout, razor sharp teeth, with claws that matched in length; and to top it off, it stood on its toes. The beast wore a poorly checkered yellow and brownish shirt, barely done up properly, furr sticking out from where the buttons only barely joined. It was so creepy, that Tseng couldn’t just walk up to the wolf like it was nothing, but it gave her the chills. Elena had never seen anything like this before and she doubted she would ever again after they departed this place.
“I have a bad feeling about this.” The women muttered quietly to Tseng, but she doubted if he would listen, he seemed to just be playing off with the youngest they’d come across. But the women didn’t say anything, she just kept back letting Tseng do as he pleased. After all, he was the one who was the boss, not her.

175 words notes My chosen torture makes me stronger As they approached the wolf-man, he turned and addressed them directly. Even though they seemed to be wearing the appropriate attire based on the denizens of the town they had seen thus far (namely this werewolf), they were still very clearly strangers. Anyone who even had the faintest idea about who lived here would be able to tell that they were new.
Before Tseng could reply to the werewolf, Sophia spoke up. "Uh, yeah, we're from... out of town, I guess you could say. We're a bit lost, so... would you mind telling us about where we are? Might help us get our bearings so that we can get back to where we came from." Sophia thought it best to hide the true nature of their appearance here. At least in her case, her uncle's spies could be everywhere.
She wasn't certain he knew about these other lands, let alone whether or not they could travel here. Still, as Sophia came to learn, it was always better to be safe than sorry. ulla
