The native Gaian had stared at the sign a bit too long. Warnings like these were always valuable. He knew that much from experience. It wasn't his first time down a mine, and he was sure it wouldn't be his last. Just a feeling, of course. Rubbing at his chin the tailed menace perked up when he had an idea, but as he turned to speak to Fuhito the man had gone ahead! He thought of calling out but deflated with an exhale.
"It's like babysitting Steiner..." He would hope that man was less inclined to follow his sense of duty and more so his sense of wonder.
Zidane sent down the path, well aware of the footprints left behind by the older male. He hoped that these were his, anyway. The undead did make a habit of playing games with the most sensible of adventurers. Zidane heard Fuhito speak and, hoping it was no spectre playing games, would peek his head around the corner as he looked around. Seemed a normal cave to him, but normal caves also meant nests for feral beasts. He knew places like this were ripe for not only the lost spirits but Antlions. Luckily he's seen no signs of them thus far.
"What the hell?!" Zidane suddenly jumped when the Worm had tore through the wall and he could do naught but watch it swarm by. "I-I thought Sandworms were only in, like you know: sand?!" Of course there were the rare cave dwelling variety but that would mean they have like come upon the nest of one which was no good given their voracious appetites. "Uh..." He looked around once the man's question was presented, and a good question at that. "Seems fine, I don't think a Sandworm, or I guess a caveworm, wouldn't go about knocking in its nest, right?" He hoped.
Zidane really hated places like this. It wasn't as if he was scared of deep, dark, underground caves with little to no oxygen... but he always found himself spending longer than he liked in them with little to no food, for hours. His arms crossed over his chest, that sandy colored tail swaying from side to side as he weighed his options. Great... none. Zidane shrugged and moved to follow Fuhito.
"After you." But he was prepared, for whatever may be in store.
The underground paths burrowed by the worm were easily large enough to walk around in, but there had to be an exit point somewhere. A worm couldn't eat if there was no food and so far Zidane has seen no signs of life down here, mostly unlife. So there had to be a way to the surface they could locate. Trouble was finding it!
