It is mid morning in Balamb Town, the sun is shining, the salt sea air is crisp and fragrant, though not offensively so, it is later in the day, so the dawn sea spray has died down, waves gently lapping at the docks. The fishing town is now much quieter than in its heyday due to various and crippling limiting factors. The largest of which being that, while it is still populated, ever since the incident a large number of people are just... gone. Balamb Town did not have the defenses necessary to weather the initial assault on their world and the garden could not mobilize in time. Fishing itself has also become complicated. The seas, once largely free of monsters are now home to many new dangers, not all of which are the strange new invaders that did not come from the moon. Esthar is, predictably, running research on the phenomenon, and they have conjectured that whatever the creatures are, they are not like anything native to this world. Research is also apace on strange new matter discovered in the world. With Radio Waves working again, communication has been a saving grace keeping the world afloat. Word quickly spread that magic was key to defeating the creatures and Esthar's magic soldiers have left that nation the most stable and well defended place on the Archipelago. Other places, places like Balamb, were not so lucky... though despite their strong defenses, Galbadia seems to have it worse.
Here in Balamb, there are only so many people capable of using combat magic to go around, even with the garden. Life here has become what one might consider a war of attrition or at best an unstable peace maintained by the occasional sortie. Heartless appear almost daily, and the garden spares what patrols it can, lends out some few students for fishing boats so that the economy doesn't collapse and people can eat, but it's a fragile equilibrium. The heartless are worse than the world's monsters. The monsters have set numbers and reproduce slowly, they can be culled, but these... things, they are seemingly endless. No matter how many are defeated there always seem to be more. While the numbers are a problem, the saving grace is that the world is used to fighting much tougher creatures than these on a regular basis. Anywhere with soldiers is holding out, and more citizens than ever are signing up to join the fight, because it's here, at home. Sometimes right outside their actual home. While the students are excellent at fighting off the heartless when they appear, it's much harder to control their behavior and unlike normal monsters they are nearly impossible to corral and citizens have been at risk.
That's why Gyun is here. Of all the remaining occupants of the Garden, the small furry creature seems to have an uncanny ability to get their attention. An ability he is decidedly unappreciative of. Wherever he goes, heartless drop what they're doing and flock to him, with their awful little grabby hands and smothering darkness. So it is that his orders, which he has actually received in this time of emergency, are to practically live on the streets of Balamb Town and round up heartless, then lead them patrols for extermination. It is an unpleasant job, but one that he feels something of an obligation to do because he doesn't have anything better to do and has no idea how to begin looking for his missing friends. While usually set up by a restaurant near the inland edge of town Gyun is currently sitting on the edge of a damp dock, legs swinging, waiting for something interesting to happen. While usually this would mean heartless or a monster attack, today he is simply hoping something will bite. Being in a fishing village, the moomba has taken up fishing. Rod and reel stand fast in his paws, the moomba intently focused but not unaware of his surroundings. To be honest he's not great at it, the feline creature has had several bites today and not managed to reel in a one, still, he is intent on continuing to try, at least until he is needed elsewhere.

It had been a long time since she had slept for more then a few bells in a row, though normally she had her chocobo with her to watch over her while she did sleep. The past few suns have been awful, especially when it came to resting. Funny how one becomes used to something and then how big of a hole it leaves when it's taken away. The slumbering Miqo'te stirred, her ears drooping as much as her head was bobbing, every fibre of her being trying to wake herself up. This wasn't right. She was usually such a light sleeper. What was causing her to sleep like this, for such extended periods of time that she was left almost defenceless? ”Mmm...”, she slurred before her bright blue eyes finally snapped open, her head jerking upright where the thunk of a skull colliding with a brick wall echoed briefly across the parking lot outside Balamb's hotel. ”Kssst!!”, she hissed, both her hands wrapping around the back of her head and rubbing the lump that had formed there. Once the pain subsided, she blinked her feline eyes and looked around herself. Where was she now? The smell of the sea was somewhat overpowering her senses being so close to it.
With a grunt and a huff, the feline-eared female pushed herself up to her feet, her hands dusting herself down and tightening the belt around her hips that held her trusty blade at her side. There were some weird machines nearby, something that looked vaguely Garlean, but... less... sinister. Weird metal carriages on wheels. The Miqo'te tilted her head a fraction as she peered at the odd vehicles, before the sound of the waves from the nearby docks caught her attention, which was briefly followed by the grumbly rumbling of her stomach. ”Ech... I wonder if I can catch some fish here?”, she wondered aloud, twitching her nose a few times as she sniffed the air. Sea salt was mostly what she detected, but there was the unmistakable scent of fish too, and that only made her stomach grumble louder. Patting her belly down a couple times, the black-haired Miqo'te wandered towards the docks, noticing that few people were out and about. Where was everyone? The place seemed to be in fairly good shape; little damage, no signs of battle. Well, there were some odd burns and impact markings here and there... magical by the look of it, but nothing on the scale of a serious battle. Were these caused by stray spells or something?
Gripping her left hand about the scabbard of her katana, the Miqo'te continued on towards the docks with more caution in her step. Soon enough, another life form was spotted and much to the Miqo'te's grumbling stomach, they held a fishing rod in their hands. Perfect! Since her rod was on her chocobo's saddle, perhaps she'd be able to borrow their one for a while? The thing that caused a frown to spread across her face though, was the fact that this fisherman, wasn't quite 'man'. No, it looked like some weird midget lion thing. While it's fur was a brilliant orange and looked like you'd be able to warm your hands up against it, the feline-female was concerned if she'd be able to speak the lion's language. Or if it even spoke at all. Come to think on it, all lions she came across tended to attack her on sight. Though this was the first one she had ever seen sitting down fishing before... like, properly fishing... with a fishing rod. Wait, was she still asleep and this was a dream? Her groaning stomach was telling her she was quite awake.
Frowning and with a slightly tighter grip about the scabbard of her blade, she walked along the dock and stopped a safe distance away from the lion thing. No doubt it would have already heard her approach, but never-the-less, she brought a clenched fist to her mouth and coughed into it. ”... Err... Any chance I can... like... borrow your fishing rod when you're done?”, she spoke up, her surprisingly delicate voice not really fitting the hard frown and cold, battle hardened stare in her eyes.

Gyun is in all honesty just a mite startled by the sudden cough and question from the mysterious visitor, and it shows by a sudden, jumpy jolt and an awkward flailing in an attempt to regain his balance, which the moomba just barely manages to do. The small creature was not expecting to be bothered like this, and to be honest he's a little bit of a poor lookout. It's not that he was completely unaware of his surroundings, more that he's become trained to respond to sudden, unexpected situations in the town by freaking out, as that usually means an attack from nowhere. Shortly after the apparent feline regains his balance, his tail bristles and almost vibrates. He takes a brief moment to compose himself, and halfway through shooting the stranger a look his expression turns to confusion, oddly, while his eyes are very bright and friendly, something in them looks like they've seen one too many things too. Oddly, she's not really getting any animal language vibes off of the creature at this point in time despite the vigorously expressive body language, though it's already fairly evident how he feels.
The moomba sniffs at the air a little bit and tilts his head, and it seems almost like a question mark should be appearing above his head. He has never seen anything like this person before even in all his travels in his past life, and she doesn't really smell of Balamb or, well, anywhere he's ever been. She also looks like she's seen some things, and some stuff, so he can relate. The small lion considers for a moment, bringing a paw to his muzzle and looking aside, then nods agreeably to the effect that she may, because he doesn't see the harm in it. If she knows how to fish then there's no reason not to let her, after all, a person would have to be crazy to fish here otherwise, what with all the monsters in the water that one has to know how to fish around, now.
Gyun suddenly perks, and returns his attention to the line, which suddenly tugs gently. He seems like he knew it was coming, he waits, and he waits, and he waits, and the line dips, and he pulls! and he's almost pulled in himself! Tipping forward before he pulls backward, hard, and rolls to get a good footing on the dock. The rod isn't bending all that much, but he seems to be having some trouble getting the catch in. Those clumsy looking, big paws may not be the best for this task and it looks like he might need a little bit of help, although notably there's no reel on the pole with which to pull the line in so from her perspective it seems like he's just clamping the line to the pole with his grip. If so, it's a very strong grip, but either way, he's not having a whole lot of luck pulling whatever the thing is in. Ripples are starting to appear on the surface so it seems like he might be getting close, but progress is stalled and he can't pull the rod any higher than he already is or take a step back.

Kira may have clenched her fist slightly tighter about the scabbard of her blade when seeing the little lion fellow jump from surprise, her stance widening a fraction as she was unsure if the arm flailing was an attempt to keep his balance, or was some weird requirement for casting a spell. Though seeing as nothing harmful was heading her way, for figured it was the former. His eyes glanced from the little fellow's face to watch his tail bristle and shake. The Miqo'te frowned and stood back upright, finally letting her hand clenched about her weapon relax and fall down to her side. ”Err, sorry... didn't mean to startle you.”, she spoke up, tilting her head slightly as she looked the orange feline over carefully. His paws were huge, both front and rear. What purpose would those serve? Well the rear ones allowed him to stand upright on his hind legs, but surely he'd be a more capable hunter down on all fours? Hm, could that be why he was fishing? Maybe the size of his paws made it tough to hunt? Saying that, the size of his front paws looked like it was tough to hold a fishing rod.
The black-haired female blinked her bright blue eyes a couple of time when watching the spiky-maned lion sniff the air. Yes, this place did have a heavy sea-salt and fish scent to it. They were beside the ocean after all. But that glint in the creatures eye made her wonder if he was trying to smell her? Kira rose her right arm and lowered her head slightly to sniff herself, before folding her arms across her chest and frowning. Rude creature, but perhaps he wasn't entirely wrong. It had been a while since she last bathed. She'd get around to that later when she got her bearings and knew she wasn't in any immediate danger. Oh and after she'd filled her stomach too. Speaking of which, Kira was getting the impression from the beast's nod of it's head, that she was given permission to use their fishing rod. The Miqo'te didn't smile, but she did nod her head in thanks before slowly approaching the lion. Her eyes turned to the waves that washed under the pier and gently crashed up against the side of the stone dock wall. There were either some seriously big fish in there, or something else entirely. It was almost like you could feel eyes on you from the watery depths.
Kira's head snaps to to where the lure of the rod once was, now in the mouth of something that decided to take a bite. She doesn't move until the lion fellow turns and starts to pull on the line. When he does, she moves closer and glances down into the waters to try and see what it is he's caught. ”You've got something!”, she stated the obvious, sounding slightly excited. She continues to watch, eyes flicking from the waters to the fishing rod, taking note of his huge paws and the fact that he wasn't having luck reeling in whatever he'd caught. Then again, there wasn't a reel from the look of it. So the little guy was using brute strength? Kira nodded her head as a look of respect flashed in her eyes for a second, before returning to reality and remembering he was having trouble pulling the fish in. Frowning, she didn't know how to help out. Would it be rude to take the rod off him? Should she pick him up and move him backwards? Maybe she could draw her sword and try to skewer whatever he'd caught?
Frowning and trying to hide her impatience, Kira knelt down next to the Moomba and took hold of the fishing rod. She didn't take it off him, but was instead offering help. ”Here, put the end of the rod against my hip.”, she said as she patted the spot she was referring too. With the rod against her hip, she used herself as a pivot and leaned backwards, pulling hard on the rod that started to bend more now. Whatever was in the waters was slowly starting to get closer to the surface now. It was putting up a hell of a fight, but even the smallest of fish were able to do that. Guess only time would tell before they'd know what was on the end of the line, if they were even able to catch it in the first place. ”Do you have a net or a spear or something we can use to catch this thing?”, she questioned, giving the bright orange fellow a sideways look.

It was the lure came into sight first as the fisherfolk pulled, a harsh incandesce that protruded from the water in a wire-like filament, as if they’d hefted a massive broken lightbulb from the dock’s bottom. Next came the eyes, burning yellow spheres that simultaneously bulging but were also eerily blank, like two sun that shed light but no life-giving warmth. These fulgent points were connected to an enormous bulbous body, easily dwarfing the lighter crafts in the harbor. Cyan and cerulean curves formed wave patterns across it’s blubbery hide, extending out to flailing limbs caught into some malformed half-way point between flippers, hands, and fin. Contrasting with the more flax hue of its eyes and lure was a deep scarlet pulse throbbing with a pulse-like rhythm from the still submerged portions of the creature’s body, a stitched heart symbol terminating in a spiked spade. The Heartless’ maw opened impossibly wide in fury, a sheer jawless orifice more like a cracked open eggshell then a mouth. Yet from it issued no bestial roar or hiss, but plaintive panic accompanied by a renewed tugging on the line. “HEY! NON-Fishes-please-I’m-not-ready-for-the-demonfish-life-HELP-IT’S-ALL-OVER-MY-HAIR!!” 1 Aquatank Heartless appearsGyun @kiraflynn

Gyun perks a bit, he doesn't understand why the stranger is trying to take charge like this, fishing for what he's after is likely to be a battle of endurance every time, but either way he's happy enough for the assistance. The moomba is grinning like the devil in response to her questioning, and shakes his head no. He very much does not! but he doesn't need one. He just needs to tire out what's on the end of the line and then the reward will be his! He seems to be incredibly happy about what he has one the line and wastes no time doing as instructed. It becomes rapidly apparent as she helps the creature with the rod that... the lion is immensely strong, it seems to only be limited by its own weight in this respect, as working with the rod feels like it is held in a vice below. It's quite clear the creature is in no immediate danger of losing his grip despite the apparent difficulty of reeling it in. His elation and excitement rapidly fade, however, as the catch begins to surface and his grin fades into a look of extreme distress. It very much is not what he thought it was going to be.
Several things happen in short order. The first is that Gyun loosens his grip and the line slacks rather dramatically, there rod straightening out. Then, with a flick, he lashes the slack line around a nearby mooring mount several times, letting the monstrous thing's weight tighten it, he can tell it's not a normal monster. With a swipe of his claws, he severs the line from the shaft, lets go of the rod completely, leaving the stranger holding it as the remaining line retracts into thin slot in in the thick base of the rod... and then, with great determination and without hesitation. The moomba declares, "Nope!" in a voice that could be described at once both reminiscent of a majestic roar and adorably squeaky, turns, and hightails it right the heck out of there. He can barely handle the little ones on his own and has absolutely zero intention of trying to play the hero. All of his friends have vanished, he's alone, he's a decoy, and he refuses to deal with situations like THIS on top of everything else, it's too much to expect of him! They already try to swarm him all the time and he has no desire to attempt to deal with this by himself or with this stranger, bounding towards the far end of the dock, where plenty of equipment and crates are stacked up. While he is still well within sight and earshot, he's quickly getting far enough away that getting after him in short order is not exactly feasible. The moomba seemingly has paid no heed to the cries for help emanating from the giant, heartless, fish monster!

Whatever this orange creature was, Kira could tell it was strong. Those huge paws and noodle arms held far greater power then one would assume from simply looking. Now that she was closer and holding onto the same object as him, she could feel his strength. The Miqo'te was rather impressed. Surprisingly impressed. She didn't think much of this goofy looking creature at first glance, but that was an excellent way of getting killed or badly hurt. She frowned at herself for her foolishness, thankful that the fiery coloured critter was friendly. She's well aware now of how much damage those claws and paws of his could do. Kira blinked and glanced out the corner of her eye when spotting the lion looking at her. Did... did it just... smile at me?, she thought as she turned her head slightly in the beasts direction. The shaking of his head was probably an answer to her question of having extra tools needed to catch the fish. She frowned and shrugged her shoulders, turning his focus back onto their catch. Guess they were doing this the hard way then, not that she had a problem with that. Any opportunity she had to test her strength and, maybe improve upon it, she'd gladly take.
Yet her determination and enthusiasm, not that she had much, quickly faded at much the same time the lion's did. Something wasn't right here and whatever was looming towards the surface of the water was nothing but bad news. I mean, was it supposed to be -glowing-? Kira winced as the lion loosened his grip on the rod, forcing her to throw a leg out in front of herself to act as an anchor so she didn't get pulled into the water. She was then jerked to her right when the lion snagged the line around a mooring and pretty much trapped the creature as a result. With the line severed and the orange fellow running away, Kira stood upright and turned her attention back onto whatever the hell this thing was. ”What in the Seven Hells...?”, she muttered aloud to herself, taking a single step backwards to get a better view of the monster. The pale blue colours, those bright yellow eyes and what was with that black and red heart shaped thing? Whatever this was, it was setting off all of Kira's alarms. It felt... evil... and consuming.
Upon the Heartless' attempt to speak, Kira was noticeably startled where she shot a glare at the monster before she raised up the fishing rod over her head using her right hand, and brought the tool down upon the beast's face with a 'thwack!'. It was pure instinct. She didn't mean to hit the creature, yet that swiftly changed as the fishing rod was tossed behind her onto the dock and the blade within her scabbard was drawn with a sharp, metallic 'zing'. She took a second step backwards, all her senses telling her to attack this monster before it could do anything else. It was bad news. It was really bad news and those 'words' it spoke could very well be a ruse to make her lower her guard. Thus with a renewed vigour, Kira's eyes narrowed sharply and she brought her blade up to her right where she stepped forwards and swung the katana down hard upon the creature, aiming for that weird heart-shaped thing on it's front. Maybe it was a weak spot? Only time would tell. Whatever the case may be, this thing had to die.

“Where are they?” The voice was soft in the Miqo'te’s mind, more like the passing of silk along the interior of the skull then words. Faint at first, the mental sound clambered louder and louder as the rhonin's blade found purchase, as if violence had established some profane spiritual empathy. “Who is Shumi?” That susurrant inner wind inquired of the moomba. “Who is Gyun?”Think miasmic vapor poured out from where Kira’s blade had pierced beast. Like a hemorrhaging wound the blackness came with gushing furor, spilling across the docks in the manner of night proceeding across the sky. Fires snuffed out. Electric lights sputtered, spritzed, and went dim. "Where are you parents little wild girl?"The achromatic tidal wave hit the harbor-side buildings without any physical force, almost seeming simply like a stygian shroud, harmless and soft. The sanguinary vapor of the Heartless brought neither chaos nor panic, but rather a yawning frigid silence. "Tinkerer…traitor…thief…you will never belong…"A grinding spinal crank split the silence as long legs slid out from the Aquatint’s wounds and underselling, fifty foot long spindly affairs the evoked something between a spider and crab. "What happened there, out in the sands?"
With a staggering lurch, the creature heaved upon on its new still dripping limbs, towering above the habor. "His eyes are empty Gyun…where is his son?"
The scrapping steps were hesitant as bulbous eyes scanned their surroundings, oversized scissor-like jaw hanging agape. Yet with quickening scrabbling bursts of motion the enormous spider-fish clambered its way half-atop a nearby warehouse. "Can you still hear them Kira?"With a whip-crack of its new ungainly spine the creature lunged down at the samurai, needle teeth shinning within a mouth still breathing tenebrous fumes. I have heard tell of an island, far out at the sea, where sky, stars, and stranger things All sing of thee

Gyun skids to a stop when the thing starts getting inside his head. That, he doesn't like. He doesn't really get the first statement, today is not a good Moomba braining day, but the other two he does, and they send him right into a fervor. It's that thing is trying to hurt him emotionally, wear him down, make him uncertain, but it has the opposite effect. The moomba's heart, which was in a state of barely suppressed turmoil, is suddenly, briefly clear, shining bright inside him. He turns back, and sees the thing crawling onto land and lunging at the visitor. They've never done that before! Something is terribly wrong and he doesn't have time to keep going and signal flare the extermination teams. He needs to act now.
The Moomba slams a paw down on the dock, then lifts them into the air. to cast blizzard. Innumerable tiny flakes of ice form above the giant fishmonster, then form themselves into jagged icicles that look greatly like viciously pointy daggers... that then collapse together into a MASSIVE chunk of ice. It's almost as big as Gyun himself and must weigh a tremendous amount. The ball of ice immediately launches itself at a remarkably high velocity down toward the top of the invading monster to smash into it, and, depending on how tough it's become, may splinter into its component shards and keep going.
Gyun has not often entered the fray since this world came back from the darkness, as he has very limited tools at his disposal to fight these things, and it feels good to do... well, something. Immediately after the cast, he begins charging back in like a big fuzzy idiot, because usually things are only just getting started when one of these things shows up and it wouldn't do to be caught down a dock with no escape route and no backup.
Gyun casts his one and only attack spell! and sprints back toward the fray.

So much for getting something to eat. This was the second time now that her desire to fill her stomach was interrupted by something and unlike last time, things didn't seem like they'd turn out too well. Though truth be told, she was wondering how this monster would taste after having a limb roasted over a fire. No, now wasn't the time to be thinking about food. There was an unknown monster present and it had to be dealt with. As her blade struck said monster, some weird thick substance started to seep from the wound. It certainly wasn't blood or at least no form of blood she'd ever seen so she swiftly flexed her legs and leapt backwards from it. Then again. And a third time. There was only so far she could leap backwards before either running out of dock or getting too far away and possibly endangering other civilians. Kira frowned and decided to stand her ground, allowing the vapour to wash over her boots to no noticeable effect to either the boots material or her well being as a whole.
Then her head twisted slightly as she cocked an eyebrow and glanced over her shoulder. Did she just hear someone speak to her? Blinking and turning back to the monster, she raised her blade before her and gripped the hilt tightly as she watched the beast sprout legs and being to mount the dock and a nearby building. There was a lot of noise happening with the crashing of waves, the disturbance of water, the cool breeze blowing inland and the shifting and grinding of bone for the monster's voice within Kira's head to be fully recognized. She just assumed other people were nearby and calling out. Then the beast attacked. Kira's stance solidified as she lowered herself down slightly, watching the beast drew near with almost impossible speed for it's size. ”... Wish these folk would stop talking so loudly...”, Kira grumbled as she flexed her knees and kept her eyes on the beast. It drew closer still and when it was nearly in range of striking, Kira jumped up into the air a few feet and kicked her boots off it's face to act as a springboard, launching her through the air where she performed a couple of tucked backwards somersaults before landing softly a short distance away within the parking lot of the nearby hotel.
”Well this is troublesome...”, she mused aloud as she watched the towering monster for a moment, wondering how she'd be able to defeat this thing. Movement behind her caused her ears to twist around where she listened to the sound of large padded paws drawing closer. Then something else. Something... cold yet magical. The cracking and straining of ice. Her ears rotated back to face forwards as her head tilted up and watched the gathering of flakes of snow form into a large jagged boulder that swiftly desended upon the monster. Did the little orange lion do this? Seizing initiative, Kira brought her blade up to eye level and ran her left hand down the length of steel, infusing the blade with an earthen brown glow. She then took the weapon in both hands, blade pointed downwards and thrust the weapon into the stone floor underfoot. Almost immediately after this Kira's Tremor Strike created a large spire of sharp rock that would burst out from under the Heartless, hopefully catching the creature in a pincer attack of ice and earth.

Blaise groaned, wincing against the thudding in his temples. It was cold, but in a different way then the ocean’s bottom had been. It seeped into the bones as if it intended live there, freezing without the mercy of eventual numbness. The swaying motions of creatures gullet had stopped however, letting Blaise’s brain stop playing paddleball against the inside of his skull. Come to think of it…everything was about seventy percent less dark and mushy then before… The mage dared to open his eyes, broad blue circles looking up at a ovaline face framed by shoulder-length brown hair, inward facing triangular markings, and bearing an expression of concentration. Blaise’s blinking gaze looking from the gilded blade in her hands to the enormous distended form the Heartless impaled on a jagged stalagmite of frosted rock. The entire harbor seemed to be covered in a strange gelid mist. Yet even as he unhuddled from the fetal defensive position he’d been in, the fog started being pierced by the mid-day sun like shinning needles through a quilt. Moment by moment the sun tore through the eldritch vapor until bright afternoon returned as if it’d never paused. The deformed aquatic beast’s broken body dissolved in the resurgent light into tiny tenebrous motes that drifted smoke-like into the great welkin expanse of the sky. “By heaven I’m not actually dead! Ooooooh…,” the mage did a cursory pat down of his limbs and face, “and I even remain ambulatory, healthy, and handsome…a bonus!” He scrambled to his feet, taking a second to set his rumbled blue coat right rights before lowering himself into a deep bow, as if the harbor were Kira’s courtly foyer. “Bless the stars that put you in my path lady viera,” the Ivaclian intoned cheerily, too seasoned at the ‘being devoured’ gig to let it keep him down for long. “If not for you and your familiar,” Gyun received an absent nod, “my flesh would be fish gizzard paste and my Heart lost to the Dark!” “I am Blaise de Beaulieu,” came the introduction after the bow ended, “and I am in your debt Lady knight.” Gyun @kiraflynn

Gyun arrives just in time to be discounted as a pet. That makes him... grumpy. He immediately turns his nose up at the adventurer who has apparently been rescued from the depths of some freakish trauma fish monster. He certainly seems well enough for being in the middle of that. The moomba's paws cross over his chest, and apparently this other person is called a Viera. He scratches his chin a little bit, what even is that? Well, he can't just leave this guy walking around after that, he might have lasting problems or be involved in this... weirdness.
The Moomba gives out a loud cry and suddenly several well equipped teenagers come filtering out of alleys and buildings up the dock. Despite being young, they seem significantly more competent than the average military soldier, like some kind of private outfit with stricter standards, trained to take missions that normal people can't handle... which is exactly what they are. The special forces of this world, SeeD. Without orders they quickly disperse through the area and surround the docks, some few patroling. There aren't many, only twelve or so, but it seems like they could fight off a company by themselves.
One of the group steps forward and patscruffles Gyun on the head, which makes him flail his paws and duck away a little, fixing his bothered mane and giving the boy a look. He's younger than most of them, and a little skinnier. Pale, dark hair, but seems to be in charge, flanked by two others in a similar uniform. "We're going to need you two to come with us." they then turn, and walk toward the main section of town, specifically a small, rounded building with swinging doors, leading into a landing, then steps, faint lighting inside. Smells like bread and seafood, even from down at the docks. The moomba goes with them despite not being addressed. The two could ignore that request, but they're being watched from both sides by the patrols. This town does not seem to be particularly trusting.
